Tab where on you win some you lose more.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Water around of Easter weekend footy and welcome to the
AFL Today Show, brought to you by TAB. I'm your host,
Liam McKellan, also known as the Stats Guy. Now there's
only two of us. We don't listen to each other,
but we're going to make this one of the best
shows of all time. Liah Malali's in his Hawks gears
still straight from the mcg How are you mate? This
is grim scenes. Look, it's going to be tough for
me to get through this show without swearing. Oh about

(00:32):
some certain Hawks, about Hawthorne, about North. They made me
angry as well. I can't imagine how you We don't
have to talk about goods already brought it up. We
don't have to talk about right, We'll get there. We'll
get there, We'll get there. Yeah, of course, no Marcus
Barzana or Alex Donald. Everyone's ditched us today and we've
just we have to just do it ourselves. Leave some
hate comments comments. Yeah, we're actually the ones working hard here.

(00:54):
So there we're putting in a shift, putting in a
shift as usual. We are brought to you by Tab's
AFL missed by one. I've been absol loving that lately.
I'm pretty sure Nick Daikos wasn't far off the forty
plus he had thirty nine the other week as well.
You have Lockie Whitfield who's done that three times this
year thirty four, so you still get paid as a
winner at thirty five plus disposals. And make sure you
download the tab app today. What are you really gambling with?

(01:14):
All right? Make sure you subscribe to AFL Today on
YouTube usually Marcus does, I'm not getting it up. Do
you want to give me a soft count? Give me
a soft count? Well to give a bit of a
reading the old search engine worries. Make sure you follow
us on AFL today AU across all the socials. That's x, Facebook, Instagram,
TikTok Ossie rules today on Facebook. Correctly, that's correct. That
the soft count is six point three k. Six point

(01:36):
three round ten K by round ten is looking good.
Ten K by round ten. So yeah, make sure you
hit the ball as well, because you get a little
notification goes a long way for our views and our channel.
I don't know what stumbled on that. That's all right.
Today we're going to wrap up all the games from
Round six. Awesome Round six that started all the way
back on Thursday. I felt like a year ago. I
was a boy when this round and now when I'm
still still a boy. Yeah, I was gonna say, I'm

(01:58):
gonna yeah, have a look at the Coleman market with
tab of course, Premiership market. Have a look at our
big calls that usually don't go to well. Our tipping
minds did not hit tipping. Oh, I don't want to
look at tipping. And then a few other things which
are always good, fine on the show. All right, first
one we always do on this show is the ladder check.
Let's get it up. This is a bit crazy because
a few big teams lost on the weekend and the

(02:20):
Pies are up to number one on the last The
Pies are making their move. They've won five in a
row since opening round. Yeah, they've been on fire. You've
got Brisbane second there they're still gone, right. They obviously
had a big loss of the Pies, but you can
there are right. Percentage took a hit. Percentage take actually
one hundred and five percent. Then you've got gold Coast
obviously a massive crazy loss to Richmond one hundred and
fifty percent, one hundred and fifty percent in third. You've

(02:42):
got Gws also lost. So we had three of the
top four lose this weekend, which is pretty wild. They're
one hundred and thirty four percent, sixteen points the chrom
they're rising, the crom Adelaide Crows sixteen point, one hundred
and thirty two percent in fifth. Geelong another really gutsy
win that Leo doesn't really want to talk about. Sixteen
point in one hundred and twenty seven percent the Hawkers.

(03:03):
What's going on there? It's all right? I think that
was honorable loss. Move on, move on, sixteen points, one
hundred and eight percent. That's a that's a little bit
of a worry. The percent for the Hawks, I reckon
because everyone around him has really big percentage. The Dogs
are in the eight. The dogs are going really well.
Unto Bevo, he looks a bit more. Mallow will touch
on that they're in the eight. PreO drop out of
the eight worth a horrible loss to Melbourne hundred and

(03:24):
four percent, Port Adelaide, Essendon and the Saints all on
twelve points. How of Essendon crept up to eleventh? Easy draw?
Easy draw? Yeah, I have to have a look at
the rest of the season, sorry Essendon fans, so just yeah,
but they are going all right if you're at eleventh.
Obviously two minute Peter did a good job on the weekend. Carlton,
Sydney and Richmond are on eight points and they got

(03:46):
Richmond sixty five percent, Sydney hundred even on the same
point as Sydney. He would add Carlton Cartain suck Sydney.
Sydney frauds will get check out on the al today
Au socials for the power rankings. That will be better
definitely yours that it definitely mine and Alex didn't help
me at all. And then we've got the rest. I
have to talk about him now. And North Melbourne seventy

(04:08):
two percent, four points, what the hell is going on
their sixteenth We're just back at our usual home of
the bottom three. And then Melbourne still four point they
got they got to win, they got to win. They
dropped after their team, they got to win to their
on four point sixty eight percent and West Coast still
not great, but they all great feet a great fifty
five percent, so that's a little bit of a worry there.
But jeez, this lad's looking very weird and it's so

(04:30):
annoying that it won't be fixed up until it around
until the end of the season. Yeah, it's messing with
my OCD. Yeah, do you have OCD? Move on? Move on.
That's another podcast, all right. Before we get into the
rest of the Showans want to have a look at
the best markets with tab. Obviously you got the missed
by one market leave I ASHCROFV have nineteen, so you
get to pay out as a twenty plus. Caleb Daniel
had twenty four. Tom Power at nineteen. We had a

(04:52):
bit of a group multi on the weekend with nine
en disposals for tom Power got to tick there, so
that was beautiful. But the main market I want to
touch on is the Coleman me. Now there's some heavy
favorites in Jesse Hogan five dollars. He's still killing it,
I think, and although there wasn't many goals on the weekend,
he can kick bags for fun, so he's still I
think fair enough to be faired. He won the Colhin
Medal last year. But I'm going to look at a
bit more value. You've got Ben King at five dollars fifty.

(05:15):
I think I'm staying away from him. Gold Coasts, that's
what we're going to touch on. They might be frauds.
I don't know if he can keep that up for
the whole season. The one I'm really keen on still
that which we touched on the other week, is Riley
Philthorpe at nine dollars. That's the main tip, a bit
of extra value, almost double the other guys. He's got
three o next week who are in horrible defensive form.
And I'm really can on the Thrill Loock at nine dollars.
I think that's a really good bet. Looking at the

(05:35):
Premiership market, I just want to look at the biggest mover,
just Collingwood. I picked him at the start of the season.
Now they've moved from nine dollars to six dollars fifty
on TAB. Two huge away wins the last couple of weeks.
The Pies fans are up and about and they've really
dropped him price. So I reckon this is one of
the best prices you get the piz Act because they're
going to keep winning. At the moment, they can't stop winning.
So get on them, man, get on them with TAB.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
All right, let's get into these awesome round that we
just had around six. We've got to go through the results,
yes we do. We've gone all the way back to Thursday.
It's a Monday night and we're talking about bloody Thursday.
But really good. Defuinely have forgotten this. That's all right,
just give it. No Brisbane and Collingwood fans, don't worry.
Brisbane seven goals, eleven fifty three, only fifty three points,
which is just unheard of for Brisbane. Collingwood sixteen nine

(06:19):
or one hundred and five. Just an awesome effort by
the Piesler. Yeah, it felt like this loss was kind
of coming from Brisbane. They had a few close yeah,
coming back from six goals down against the Dogs, not
really putting Richmond to the sword. I felt like it
was coming, and I thought Collingwood. I thought it'd be
a lot closer. Yeah sure, yeah, But yeah, Collingwood, as

(06:40):
you've written here is such a shared effort with what
have you written here, I can understand it. That's the
other one about we got that. I don't know why
I've written four but five players. Five players kick two
plus goals, six players had twenty plus disposals. That just
shows that, like obviously their goalkickers, not mainly their players
can kick a bag. The fact that four of five

(07:01):
of them got two plus goals awesome effort. A lot
of people would have thought Brisbane, Oh they're down by
five goals around halftime, Oh they can come back, They've
done it all year. But the pass just kept pint
on the goals. Yeah, they have the experience to sort
of manage that lead, I guess. And the de Coss Bros.
They were sensational. Thirty eight for Nick, thirty for Josh.
Whoever says Nick Dakos is overrated, you're not watching Afar.

(07:22):
That's Alex. Alex on the show. He thinks he's a
what is it, a whissy boy according to the True
Blood podcast, But he ran friend James Jordan, so I
don't think they can be talking exactly. He was sensational,
and I think the line Fagan said before the game
that they were going to try a few things to
try and tag him. The just couldn't. They couldn't know
they tagged him in the first half, but he just can't.
And then the commentators are like, oh, they've taken off

(07:43):
the table because he's just Unless you have the endurance
and the sort of I guess the correct tackling technique
to stop his quick hands. So many people have that. Yeah,
I want to give a shout out though to Hawthorne's finess,
Nick Dekos's bodyguard. I'm calling him ned Long, ned Long
Nick again. Nick Deakos's bodyguarded while he got twenty one

(08:03):
disposal was very respectable. He just sort of does in
hard work and just escorts Nick into the fifty. I
reckon that's what he does. I think that I didn't
think we should have got rid of him at Hawthorne,
but he probably wouldn't be playing at the moment for us. Oh,
I don't know, maybe he could. Maybe. I think he

(08:23):
suits calling with him the way he suits him perfectly
because he's not the best ball user, but what he's
good at is getting his hands dirty. So just escorting
the Decoss bros. And so you know that seventy meters
penalty that Josh got, Yes, that's because ned Long just
pushing the movement. We've got to day Coss coming in
here kick. Yeah exactly, I love it. I love that

(08:46):
sort of midfield dynamic they've got there. A bit of
nuggets to knowledge. We've got some nuggets that he's just knowledge.
That's just knowledge, wisdom we've got. I wrote in the
Runchie for the first time, and I reckon Ever, I
was gonna say, oh, okay, Sam Day was weirdly good.
He had ford in disposals. He presented well, I've got
a few marks, got a goal and he just did
did his job pretty well. Like there wasn't many. If

(09:08):
I'm riding Sam Day for Brisbane played well, that means
Brisbane played really bad though knocking here was the only
line over twenty one disposals. Yeah, I believe he had
twenty five, which is still under his usual averages around thirty.
So a bit of a worrying, worrying signs for Brisbane.
They couldn't use that run and dash, they couldn't kick
those goals. Eric Kipwood went missing. What a surprise. Yeah,
on under a week. They need to do something there

(09:29):
because he sort of performs when the spotlights on him,
and then when he has that performance, he goes missing again.
So they've sort of got the mid size forwards and
the small forwards there. But yeah, I don't know if
Sam Days you highlight Sam Day was actually no disrespect
to Sam Day, but he wouldn't begining to it. Get
I was gonna say most teams, he'd definitely get a game.
And oh I could do a job at Hawthorne could

(09:50):
do a job. Who's better Sam Frost the same day,
Sam Frost? Sam Frost? Yeah, I don't know about that,
Just say Sam Frost. Anyway, Coling, we've got a huge win,
fifty two points. How the fan base is feeling, we
can touch on that post out there. The first on
the ladder, two Away wins back to back beaten. You know,

(10:11):
I know Sydney what fifteen fourteenth on the ladder, but
still tough to do their quality outfit. Yeah, and then
Brisbane Away, who were undefeated highs are looking good. They
were my flag pick at the same of the year.
I thought, I don't think that was yours, it was,
it was mine as well. Then it was we can
go back, check the tapes, check the tase. So yeah,
they're looking strong, they are looking really strong. And then yeah,
yeah Brisbane, I don't think they'll be wired. It's like

(10:33):
it's a bit of an outlier game, I reckon. I
think they probably preferred not to lose by that much,
but they probably maybe so, especially at the gabback coming.
No way should you get they ever get smashed at
the Gab. But that's like the fortress the Gab. What
are they doing? What are they doing? What are they doing? Anyway,
Colin got a big win there, Collingrand fans would be happy,
and we go to Friday the long run stats man, No,

(10:54):
we don't talk about Friday. Why those two games we have.
We even had a big North Melbourne preview with Marni
on Thursday. I was going to the game so excited,
and that is the worst game of football from North
Melbourne I've ever been to the whole a few of them.
I've thought Josh Bruce kicking ten goals. I would rather
Josh Bruce kick ten goals on my tea than watch

(11:16):
that insipid I was gonna say, bad weather, insipid effort
from North Melbourne guys, not even tackling. Guys. Just use
your body. I can't use my body because I'm a
soft North player. That is disgraceful. It was the first
time I've ever felt that I could wanted to brew
my team and I never wanted to do that. Almost
did almost better come up on the TV. Maybe later
I did have to a few drinks. Really genuinely horrible.

(11:36):
What were the scores? Yes, yeah, I'm so roud about it.
That's good. I don't want to read the score. Read
the score. I read the score later, read it. Oh yeah,
you do it, Okay, Carton twenty four to nine, very accurate.
One hundred and fifty three North Melbourne eleven five seventy one.
We got to seventy one points. That's pretty good. Hundred
and fifty three. Can we just say, let's let's touch

(11:57):
on North and then cart I will have like a
third second to a minute on North. I think you
might need longer than Yeah. True, I'll touch on one
North one positive and I'll agree with you on this.
We're embarrassing. But Paul Curtis was very was awesome. He
is him and Jack Higgins, I'd say Jack Higgins is
probably the most consistent. And Toby Green, sorry for about

(12:17):
Toby Green, are the best small forwards at the moment.
But Paul poor carters. Paul Curtis is quickly putting his
hand up. He got three first half goals when the
game was on the line at the start, he kicked
the first two goals of the game. He is so accurate,
he pressures, he averages almost four tackles a game, which
is strong for his height. Unbelievable. He gets to contested
Marx and maybe George Ward though I'm just chucking. I

(12:37):
know he couldn't kick, but at least he was putting
his body on the line. He was running both ways.
He seems to all flair, no substance to me. The
first game back, Yeah, I'll let it slide. I let
it slide, but everyone else should be dropped. Yeah, it
was pretty poor. From a neutral perspective, it just feels
like so Calargo talks about your strength being the contested ball,
which it is you got. We didn't do that. He

(12:59):
got smashed in when it's in general play, I don't
genuinely and this isn't me taking the p I double five.
I don't see a game plan, but that's I don't like.
Are you trying to switch it? Are you trying to
go corridor? Yeah? Are you trying to go down the
line and scrap and use the thing? Is just ah,
try and gig it forward. And then when you get

(13:19):
a video. I went with my girlfriend that doesn't know
much about footage. She's like, why don't you guys, pick
up the ball. I was like, you're right. There were
so many times where there was two of our players
one Carlton player, we'd fumble it. So that's like, I'm
not a big fan of Clark at the moment. The
game plan saying we need to just we need to
be so much focused defensive, but it was just the

(13:40):
players just so many fumbles. Like even against gold Coast,
all right, we got smashed. We at least were up
in the third quarter. Gold Coast were a better team
than Carlton and we couldn't even be in the game.
And yeah, yeah, just to summit up, I reckon your
defense is panicky. Your mids got smashed, which is not
good when that's your strength. Yeah, yeah, exactly, and your
forwards just weren't given a chance ants yep. So anyway,

(14:02):
flip side, flipside. You want to touch on, I can
touch on Carton as well. They were they were awesome,
they were very good. I mean, it's what they have
to do. But it's a game. You go like, Okay,
they've beaten West Coast and Carlton. Everyone gave North a chance,
Like that's what, Yeah, I can't improve that. That Caton I
said that, Yeah, you did say that. But I think
Carton the test comes against Geelong this week. If they
can win this game or we'll get we'll get a

(14:24):
bit of No. I think they have to win it.
They're not beaten along. Well, they have to though, that's
like it's the belief they need to make finals. If
they want to be a final side, that they have
to be Geelong. They lose to Gelong, I don't think
they were a final side. Yeah, well some positives Blues.
Four of their players had three plus goals, which is
an unbelievable effort. Georgett has been he's been so underrat
we haven't really talked. Can make a case for him

(14:45):
being their best player this season was tomda Cooney? Ah
too good. I think tom to Coney didn't have a
massive yeah influence massive get was just Hewart has probably
been their most consistent. For sure, he's been getting numbers
week in week out, but it's he probably goes a
bit unnoticed. I reckon like he does the gritty start.
It's not a flairy It's one of those players that
you're like you're sitting level one on the wing, the

(15:07):
balls over the other side of the green gain. It's
a fifty to fifty ball and all of a sudden,
Carlton's streaming forward. You're like, how did that get to there?
And it's like George George Hill at thirty four disposals,
nine tackles and a goal, So that that's the difference
between North and Carston. They were still laying tackles even
though they had way more disposals. It was twenty points
at halftime. I was like, hmm, we're still in this.

(15:28):
As a North fan, send the Blues. Scond quarter was
pretty average. I thought the back half of the first
quarter just killed a lot of the game as well.
And then the Blues dominated the second half. Fifteen goals
to fight, fifteen goals and he's got second, Zach Williams chiming,
Jesse mottlot popping up, Turno honestly left a couple out there.
I reckon as well. Yeah yeah, and then a nine

(15:49):
goal last quarter. I've never seen a worse display. He
gave up. It's like we gave up and there was
no defensive it and Carlton were just using their speed.
Jesse Molo was really good. I thought Corey Durtin was
really good. Last two weeks. Yeah, I'd like to see
him do it against the bigger team. I think that
goes for the entire team. Yeah. Anyway, how the fan
base is for are you feeling well? Great? Just just great?

(16:10):
This is this is the worst loss I've ever been
to in my opinion, So that's what that's how I
see a lot of losses there. No, that is the
worst loss. There's one hundred percent. Yeah, and then Carleton
fans at least they prove that they are going to
my inner Italian and I was going to say, you
can't say that at least you are, Nah, you don't.

(16:30):
I think I think they'd be feeling good. Obviously they won,
but I hope a lot of them are feeling that,
like the real test is yet to come. The percentages
at one hundred and twenty two, so they'll be feeling
good about that. That's a big positive for them because
then they're in they're in those games against the better team,
so they won't lose much percent Yeah, I think that

(16:52):
big win. At least they've got a big winner. Fans
will be a bit more belief because they're like, I
should enjoyed it as well, so they would have enjoyed.
They would have enjoyed it, so they'll be happy. Yeah,
I can't fan, I'm not. Oh, we don't get to
talk about that anymore. How good? Why don't you got
through it? Mind? Come all right, swiftly moving past the
first Friday game, let's get into the second one Friday,
Opta Stadium, West Coastsidon. West Coast eleven goals, nine seventy five.

(17:13):
They nearly did it. They nearly did it, Essident eleven goals,
eleven seventy seven. I was in the pub after the
Norse game with you, and I think you were cheering
hard of essidence to lose than I've ever seen you
back for the Hawks. True. To be honest, West Coast
had a chance to say football on Friday, to say,
as an advants are going to hate me fair enough. Look,

(17:33):
they started really strong Waterman on fight early. Probably helped.
Maybe Allen wasn't in his way. Maybe yes, managed the
man was managed. What I also really like. We'll talk
a bit about West Coast. I really like the look
of Jack Williams up forward. Yes, he shows enough for
me every week as a key position player. Along with
Archer Reid. I think he's been a really good game. Yeah,

(17:55):
he's been good this year though. I think Zach Reidsy's brother,
you know, really let me know in them. I might
be wrong about that, but yeah, look at it. I
just like brothers in the AFL. No, I just think
that's one for West Coast. I know that that'd be
obviously they gutted. They lost, of course, but you see

(18:15):
someone like Jack Williams go, Okay, there's there's a player there.
They're players all across the ground that maybe they can
hold their hat on. I don't think it's out the
same about North though, I still believe that we have
a better list than West Coast. Yeah, I just think
we're not playing like that. Well, they showed a lot
of effort and I think that that's credit to them,

(18:37):
but then also credit to Essendon for Look, it's an
ugly win. It's probably one you just leave the state immediately,
I reckon. But to be down four or five goals
into state come back, I think that's a really it's
really important win for him. Peter Wright on return was
really good. Six goals from two gigs six. Yeah, you

(18:59):
didn't even say there's six meters two goals six world record. Yeah,
he was very good. The goals on return Nick Martin
was awesome as well, twenty six and a goal. He's
from w A, I believe. So maybe let us know
in the comments anything doesn't know, let us know what
good though someone it's getting the people. Yeah, but talk

(19:21):
about people going to go Yeah he's from w A. Yeah,
that's the engagement. Mate. You would know, yeah, I wouldn't know. Yeah.
Bomber's seven goals to four in the second half. Saddening
though that Sam Draper, you know, so that Nick Bryan's
out for a year. It was out the whole year
as well, and then Draper, who's having a really good
season is out. Goldie breaking case of emergency. One of

(19:42):
the best ruckman of all time told Golds then, but
gold is a draft can't come quick enough for him. Yeah,
you reckon they pick a ruck but it does. I
think with ruckman you don't It's harsh to say, but
you don't need a good one to win. I think
a good one helps, but you can work around it.
I think I've heard that they're not going to do this,
but someone like Harry Jones, he's got a great leap

(20:03):
on him. Like, I don't know if he's not he's
not a rockman. But throw him in, give him like
a bit of flexibility around the ground. Maybe, yeah, he could,
I don't know. A few clear it gives him. It's
obviously sad for them, but it gives them a bit
of flexibility. I don't think that's true. You mentioned the
start of watermen. Just in terms of the state. They
have four goals in the first quarter. Unbelievable. They also,

(20:23):
like West Coast, won the first half. That's their best
performance i'd say of the year so far, because obviously
the first half against Brisbane though was actually but no,
I would agree, but they had they actually had a
pretty four quarter effort. Yeah, for the first time this season.
Uh and then yeah, but the worrying sign is they've
done this a few times a year. West Coast only
had three behinds from clearances. Yeah, so they worry. That's
really worrying. Bomb is a really good at defending. And

(20:46):
it's the third time in twelve games that the Eagles
haven't got a goal from stoppages. Ye, that's really bad.
It is bad. I will say though. That's probably been
Essendon's strength this year. Is the clearance work. Like with
Coldwell has been out, but sheill gets the outside ball mate. Yeah,
he still gets lives on the boundary, lives like Dylan Steve. Steve,

(21:07):
he's a cat mate. He's a cat goes as he pleases,
he does. I get what you're saying. It is bad
for West Coast, but that that's probably the bomber's strength.
The strength the bomber's weakness is defending general play, and
I think West Coast did exploit that the true it's
what the stat suggests. Very nice. How the fan base
is feeling our West Coast feeling West Coast. That'd be

(21:27):
sad because I reckon that's the one they should have won.
They should have won that. They go to marvel against
Hawthorne this week as a very yeah, it's a marvel.
As a very pessimistic Hawks fan. I'll give him a snipe.
Oh my god, if you don't smash West Coast, smash him,
but you're off the Shoho knows, mate, who knows? If
we play like we did today and turn it over

(21:48):
and Jack Williams gets on, you lost, we'll get to it.
We'll get to it. And essident fans are probably like, look,
let's just leave the state. Let's hope Sam Draper is okay,
like like when he gets on the long term. Yeah,
and let's find a ruckman. Let's do what is just defense?
Just roaming around? You're like to come down to the bombers.
They're not saying that to you though, No, not to me.

(22:09):
I was a ruckman when I was twelve. But yeah,
back in the day, there we go. Are you a ruckman?
Oh you're an umpire, You're a green maggot. Yeah, mate,
I'm Dylan Chi. Yeah, I don't mind that. All right, Saturday,
next game up at the MCG. What that I'm going
to say, this is every game? What is that? What
was that?

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Melbourne sixteen goals eleven one hundred and seven. Melbourne kicked
one hundred and seven points. I can't remember last time
we kicked a hundred points? Freeman fourteen goals thirteen ninety seven.
The D's obviously haven't got to win there. Finally on
the board, Simon Goodwin's not going to get sacked this week.
Clari's having a party probably he's on the Sage is
cooking up with his nine and he's having a good
time on TikTok. Everything's good at the d's again. I

(22:52):
think we need to start this by giving a lot
of credit to Simon Goodwin. I don't like him, but
the fact he roasted him on Thursday saying why drop
and it worked. He stuck to his guns. He dropped Fritch,
he dropped Rue. We questioned it, a lot of people did,
and he knew that he had to do something different

(23:14):
to score. And he's been saying week after week, we
need to change how we play. We need to change
how we move the ball and throwing petty forward. Look,
he hasn't been great there in recent four goals, but
gave him four goals because he was born again. Maybe
he was doing a little audition for freeo next year.
That's what it was. So on justin Longmuir, Hey, I'm
not boring, and then long mull was like, no, we

(23:36):
want boring players because because he's the opposite of boring. Yeah,
that's what I'm saying that he was saying no, but no,
you got to give him credit to kick one hundred points.
I think it was what seventy at half time? Yeah,
I think so. They struggled a bit in the air
in the second half, but they kicked a lot of points.
I think, mate, didn't they but so did. You just
got to give him credit for just walking the talk

(24:00):
Goodwin walking the top. Yeah, talking the war made me myself.
It's like I was confused. I have to listen to
it for the strokes Ard. It is a bit tough struggler.
Max Gorn looks back, as you have written here last
few weeks. Twenty eight disposal thirty one hit outs against
Freo Darcy not good, not good Darcy. Yeah, sure he's

(24:21):
he looks cooked, he looks slow. Very interesting to see
what they do when Jackson is back, whether they go
Darcy Jackson, Amos Tracy, do they drop Darcy. We'll see. Yeah,
it was a really fun midfield better was the other
thing I wrote down. You had so wrong even against
Petrarca Oliver Viney and then bray shot kick had thirty
three in a goal so wrong. Now it gets a

(24:44):
lot of touches. This man, he should be up there
in the brown though and things like that. I think
he's had the most mid year. I think he's I
think I think yeah, I think his impact has really
dropped off. Like watching this game, like he gets nothing
touches and he gets how many handballs to the end he
had eighteen handball out of his twenty seven touches. Sound
like people describing Dekos, I reckon, Yeah, but Na Deeko

(25:06):
sets up a lot of the play. I don't think
sar Wrong is doing that enough. He doesn't get the
scoreboard enough. Brayshaw has been hitting the scoreboard it. I
do get what you're saying. I just think he needs
to do a bit more because he's so skillful. I
think the position he plays is he's a tough inside mid. Yeah,
that gets the handball out, Yeah, gives it to Brayshaw.
And I think you know, when he plays in say

(25:26):
a Derby, he's so influential because yeah, he's just he
sees the ball, he wins the ball, and he shows
everyone that he's He was really good in that game.
But I do understand because then his role he could
go unnoticed. And I think, yeah, I do get your point.
I think he just could be a little bit better.
I think he's dropped off slightly this year, and I
think that doesn't help because Brayshaw, it feels like at times,
has to do a lot more. In my opinion, hating

(25:49):
Young was pretty solid with twenty five touches. That's only
his second game back as well. He'll work into it.
And actually I wanted to check Bolton have three goals
dares he had two goals but only four disposal Sean
does he So that's not good enough when your opponent's
getting twenty eight speed in the rock. So no logo.
But this is amazing win from Albourne thought probably no
chance they're going to win. Chance, give them no chance.

(26:10):
So how the fan base is feeling, how the Melbourne
fans feeling, Well, the D's fans that attended, they'd be
pumped up. Are they going to finally turn up now
because they want of course winter season coming up? Man, yeah,
true key and get the cheese balls out. They'd be
feeling good like they've seen a win. They've seen a
win and it's a win that it's against a team
that we think is going to be top eight. Well

(26:30):
maybe Freo as well have beaten them there like the
last three times with the GS, so that's a that's
a good win. So it's obviously been a terrible start
for them, but they beat Freo. They got Richmond this week.
Hopefully they can go two from two. For your DS fan, yep,
and then Freo. That's all their fraud. Mantle is coming back.
It's coming back. They they did this last year where

(26:51):
they probably should have made fun. They have such a
good list should I Bolton even kicked three Goalsie stepped up.
But just their death like Luke Ryan as as forgot
like I've et Ben super coach as well, not getting
near the ball, He's not delivering those passes that he
usually does. I don't know. They've dropped off. Yeah, going
for free. I must be like having a dodgy partner.
You just can't trust him. Just that is hard. I'm

(27:11):
glad you had a reference that made sense this week
that doesn't make any sense anyway. Before you get into
the rest of the games, let's have a break with
tabs night.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
This game is going to be epic.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Missed by one on the AFL. With tab you can
stay in the game, missed by one on any disposal's
leg and tab will still pay you out as a winner.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Tab where on.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
All right, Saturday, Ava is the next one at the
Adelaide Oval Adelaide. Just get to play her all the
bloody time. Adelaide seven goals ten fifty two Jenniboos four
goals ten thirty four. What what the hell if you
didn't know what happened in this game? There's a lot
of rain because I do it at thirty four? Was
it in the first? Halthing came in the second, It
was in the I was a bit in both. It

(27:54):
was at quarter, third quarter, second quarter was dry, I
think in the last quarters, right, but yeah, well it
was just an absolute scrap. I think a lot of
people predicted this game to go like really high score. Yeah,
but I really enjoyed Adelaide's performance in this game. Yeah,
it was gritty, and you look to the week prior
Geelong with an insane second half to kick one hundred

(28:16):
and nineteen. It was Adelaide, yeah thirty. I think that
in that game they were two attacking like minded. They
wanted to score and they have the weapons to do that.
Don't get me wrong, but in this game, I felt
that they were really intent on defending first. I know
the conditions helped that, but I felt every time Giants

(28:37):
got a quick play, they always got to sort of
seventy meters out and you look up the b An
Adelaide spare and Adelaide mids dropping back and they couldn't
pierce through at all the entire game, And it almost
makes me wonder whether that needs to be Adelaide's am
I going forward play a little bit more defensive, but
like because they have the weapons that the attack will

(28:59):
take care of itself. That's true if they just go
in and want to make it a scrap and flood
numbers back, yep, I don't care if the games are
fifty to thirty five like this one they win. They
have enough offense that it will just do that. It'll
score if they go on with that mindset. That's why
I enjoyed their game, because it's showed that that's got
to be their way forward. I weirdly agree with that

(29:21):
because they lost. I know they were very unlucky with
the umpires. They lost in a shootout to Gold Coast. Yeah,
they lost in a shootout to Geelong gather out. Like
when they play better sides, just going to go their way,
and I think if they go with that defensive mindset,
Like if you look at the players in there, like
they're not Hay grade stars, but Joshi Warrell I thought
he was fantastic. That's very underrated mid Hinge, very good.

(29:44):
Mark Keane defends really well. They've got the guy Nick
Murray's another one. They've got the guys that can defend
Callum calor Murray. That's good. I don't actually brown or something,
but you know what I mean. They're not like stars,
but they defend very good. True, and it might mean
that then their offense isn't as good, but as it'll

(30:06):
win them games. I reckon. Yeah, no, you're actually making
a very good you could you give me the coach
coach Matthew exact, just shave my head, go ball and
pretend to like Adelaide. Yeah, you're like gather around, Yeah,
you love Heinley Street. Yeah. And for the Giants it
wasn't great. Yeah, it's their worst total score since twenty

(30:27):
twenty two, Yeah, which is thirty five points both. I
think Adelaide were a bit inaccurate themselves seven goals ten,
but the Giants had some decent chances that they just shanked,
Like in the wet weather, you should have take care
of the footy bit more. And they were just blazing
away a bit trying to play because they love the
good weather, like I wouldn't be backing them in many
like wet weather games verse the year because especially like
LUs of Whitfield and like Tom Green and a few

(30:49):
others are just silky movers. They didn't like it in
the wet at all. In this one, I thought the
defense was superb. Sam Taylor again just proving that he's
the best key back in the comp But as I said,
if Adelaide just do enough defensively their attackle will eventually score,
whether it's seven goals to four like this one or whatever.
But it was Jordan Dawson's probably best game as well. Really,

(31:10):
I reckon I thought one of his best games. I
thought he was very poor. He turned it over a
few times, but he had I thought he had more
clearances than I five clearances, eight tackles. I thought he's
pressure and just his intensity was really good because a
few a few times, I don't know, he gets lost
on the outside and you don't see him as much.
But I thought he was really good. Matt Crouch was
okay again, you know we're gonna get You're gonna get
a lot of touches from Matt Crouch, but with it

(31:32):
at thirty nine disposals, So there we go. Tab missed
by one. You get that one as well. But yeah,
they just I don't know, there was something missing for
the Giants. They just couldn't kick goals. They only had
Harvey Thomas with one stringer with one and then yeah
a few other ones. So yeah, not good enough. You're
a Giants fan, how you go into the fan base, es,
you're probably very frustrated because you did a lot right
to get to like seventy meters eighty meters and they

(31:54):
just cooked it. Yeah, and then they just couldn't find
that sort of final kick. Talking about the Giants actually
there you know how they have the signs on the sidelines,
like from the coaches towards them in the game like lockdown.
I saw they sign when they were down like three
goals in five minutes left that said win, Like obviously
they're trying to bloody win. Where are we going to
sign this win? At least they know what they're doing.

(32:15):
They're trying to absolute strategic minds at the Giants. The wins.
What well, they didn't do their job, they didn't follow
the sign. What are they doing? And then it was
a bit hard. I think they put it up. They
put up a bit like yeah, they should have put
it up at half time, maybe at the start of
the game. Guys are gonna win. Oh win, that's what
we're doing. And then on the other side, Adelaide they
would just be really happy. I think that's a really gritty,

(32:36):
grindy win. I know the scoreboard doesn't suggest, but that
was a really close game for a lot of the parts.
And they like they love losing close games at Lade,
they do. That's good that they got to drop the job.
They'd be happy after their lostage along Adelaide fans are
really happy. And as we'll have a touch on in
the power ranking stuff, be aiming for top six. I
think they've got aim for that, so they're gone really well,
all right, Saturday night, Marvel State. Every single game this

(32:56):
weekend was this game? What was this game? Rich taking
on Gold Coast the Dimmer Bowl and dim Curse strucks
again at Richmond twelve goals, eight eighty points, Gold Coast
nine goals, fifteen hit the big sticks, gold Coast. I
only scored sixty nine points and they lose by eleven
to Richmond. What the hell? Well I think this game?

(33:16):
I know Tigers splits them in the third quarter, but
I think it was one at the start. Yeah, Tigers
were on from the start. Mac andrew Man starting fights.
I don't he's got the Harley reading him. When they're losing,
he started to focus a bit more on the actual contest.
He loves a shush. He loves because there was a
double goal earlier that it gave away. Yes, and I

(33:39):
don't know, sort of a young team like that in Richmond.
They had that early lead, the energy sort of grew
and the belief grew, and that third quarter was awesome
by them. I really love watching Seth Campbell play. Oh
he's just a little He's one of those ones that'll
get under your skin. You might want to give him
one or two. But he's like the Wizards of He's like, yeah,

(34:02):
the unknown wizard. I reckon Well all he had it.
He's the chef. He had the chef celebration. He was cooking.
He got two goals. Tom Lynch had two goals. Shut up.
I know that Tom, he's not good anymore. But if
he just chips in with two goals, you're like happy,
thank you, thank you very much, Tomin until he gets injured.
Yeah he doesn't get injured it, but yeah, Boston as well.
We talked about Boston was underrated players recently. I think

(34:24):
we had a few shorts about that. Yep I mentioned
Ali earlier is one. I think, who did you have
a grid miserist? Today? Boston is underrated Nick Voston. He
had twenty seven disposals at eighty two percent efficiency, seven
intercept marks and fifteen total intercepts. He was just everywhere
for the time. I think he had one hundred and
sixty Super Coach points. They were tracking him to be

(34:45):
the first two hundred score in a while as well.
Really because he was on one hundred and a half times.
I didn't know that and everyone's like, oh, can we
get a two hundred score? He was awesome. I want
to just touch on the Dimmer curse. Okay, the Dimmer
curse is just a big thing at Richmond. Everyone goes, Oh,
the gold Goes won their game their last year, it
was after the siren. After the siren. Dimmar has only
won one of his last fourteen games since he said

(35:06):
when he was Richmond coach that we hate coming here
to Marvel. Now Gold Coast on one and four at
Marvel Stadium. Since Dimmer came on board and he's one
of his last fourteen. Just if you're coaching a team,
you want the belief from your coach. You want to
give the belief to your players. Don't say we hate
coming here. It's down the road at Richmond though. I know,
but the curse is still alive. I bet you can't

(35:27):
help it now. He said to the Gold Coast players,
I hate this place, boys like I don't care if
he went or not, because I hate it. I just
hate it. I think it would outweigh tho because now
he's up in Gold Coast and the Haven there one
and four there and they're supposed to be a good team. Yeah,
he make a good point. The curse, mate, it's cursed.
Is it worse than the Kennet curse? The Kennick curse
had effects for premiership to let's as if he brought

(35:48):
up the Kenneck curse annoyingly. I don't like this guy,
but he's been really good. Ben Long continues his amazing form.
He had three goals, but the Suns gott a bit
of a study. It only kicked a goal nine percent
of the time inside fifty in the first three quarters.
That's what cooked him. Well. I think your answer to
that one is Nick, you've lost them. And then in
that third quarter the Tigers had six goals to one.

(36:09):
I think you touched on that they had awesome third
quarter and they were just they were just so good
the pressure. It was very similar to their game against Carlton,
where it was just built on pressure and it was vibes. Yeah,
like everyone was just up for the game. It was
working hard for each other. You can tell that I
think there's still a bit to play out in terms
of Use's tactical side and a yeah, sure, and like

(36:31):
what we want to see from him, but you can
tell that they want to play for him, and you
can tell he's getting the best out of American And
this is sort of proving that Richmond and nowhere near
as bad as we all thought they're not because they've
already got a couple of wins. Are they a team
will never go? Are they the third worst team or
like above North and West Coast? Now? Yeah, right now

(36:53):
I think they can beat Melbourne as well. Oh that's
a good call. Yeah they could Melbourne on Thursday. Oh
that'd be I'm tipping the pirole that aren't watching that
because it's going to be one. I want to watch
it because it's going to be ugly. I love those
other games. I hate that anyway, Let's talk about the
fan bases. Richmond fans are up in Richmond. They want
a marvel and they can just they can literally go

(37:14):
to every AFL fan and laugh in their face because
everyone says, everyone said, you're not winning more you could
you're winning zero wins? Said two or three? I said three?
I said three or four or three. Yeah, they're going
to get four or five wins because that they'll they'll
just catching these teams and they play my blother North
Melbourne twice and they'll get at least one in there. Yeah,
they can beat West Coast and like you said, they

(37:36):
could Richmond, sorry Melbourne and you know they beat Carlton,
they beat Gold Coast. They could have another surprise up there.
Sleep they could knock off Hawthorne and then Gold Coasts
made me say that they could be what you don't
worry sorry first time the whole time. You don't have
to host this crap. What was gonna say? Now, I'm

(37:56):
right up. The Gold Coast, Gold Coast fan bases just
old Goost in general. Are they frauds like they do
this every year. Gold Coast fans are like to have
done it again. They look really good and then they go, oh,
we're going to be locked for finals? Are they even
a lock for finals? Now? I don't know. I still
think they should make finals. But that's a really bad
Sydney's loss to Richmond last year? Is that what it is?

(38:17):
So gold is going to make the Grand Final? Yeah?
And gets mashed A fun watched that one. We also
get eighty k to that. Anyway, Gold Coast fans will
be gutted because they were just every week you like
to go six and six. Know what are they are?
Because they played a game less five five, five and one? No, yeah,
you're spot on there. So they'll be filthy with that.
All right. We've talked enough about the game Sunday at

(38:39):
the SCG. We are very very lucky that Alex isn't
on this show because the Sydneys ones, which as I
get up the scores as that is not in the
run sheet right now, I've got them up. Can you
get the scores please? Sydney ten seventeen seventy seven to
Port thirteen seven eighty five. What was wrong? I'm port?
They did it two weeks and they've done it two

(38:59):
weeks in a row yep. And now they got North
this week, so that's going to be three weeks in
a row. Yeah, genuinely, like I don't like Port Adelai
look at what I'm wearing. But I've got to give
them credit. They were great to blitz Hawthorne and then
back it up, because it's all it's the port thing
to blitz a team, the Eric Hipwood of the AFL.

(39:19):
When the media is on them, they perform and then
they do their own thing in the background. That is true.
But they backed it up this week and they were sensational.
Rosie awesome, awesome off half back. Ken putting Rosie half
back Joshka who's going to take credit.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Now?

Speaker 2 (39:36):
Ken did? Whoever it was putting him at half back?
He was absolutely awesome. Or Francis rans really good. He
missed a few weird set shots. There was a lot
of really bad set shots in this one. Because I
know Port kicked pretty accurately. Thirte and goal seven. Sydney
cost themselves mainly from one man. The Lizard Alex could
back me up on this. He missed so many shots

(39:57):
on God, I need a double check how many behind
and he had a out on the falls, so three behind,
three behind. Ava McLean had four behind zero goals, four
from zero go three from baking in. I think he
had one out of the floor as well. He was
running into open guy a three bounces. I think he
did it three times on the wing and missed all
of them. Spread off him. No pressure on him at all,
going a bit too fast, just needs to settle. He
played pretty well. He had twenty seven disposals, but the

(40:19):
court Chad Warner was really like under the radar as well.
He just couldn't find the footy as much as usually.
A twenty one goal didn't get his goal. He usually
gets two goals when they're playing well. So I'm a
little bit worried about Syney talking about frauds. Fraud fourteenth
on the ladder, Now that's really bad. And if to
think if they didn't have that sort of comeback win
over three zo in round two, there'd be one in

(40:41):
five insane. They could have won this game if they
kicked accurately. I believe because they have, but yeah, I
don't know they They did miss a lot of shots
late and I think at the end of the day,
like you're just not you. It is night. I'm listening.
You've got to You've got to just give ports and kudos.
Got to give Ken some kudos. Yeah, give him a

(41:01):
high five on slack or whatever. What are we doing?
Fifteen five fifteen five. Else is that they probably don't
uh no, fair, fair enough. They flew there and they
flew home. They yeah, win, you can do the playing celebration.
One thing I'll say for the Swans the super sub
Aaron Francis Legacy game. He kicked three goals in a row.

(41:22):
Isaic Keeney was killing in the last quarter. They were like,
we have belief. The obviously lost, but they pushed late,
didn't they. He got him back in the game. They
swung him four and he was really good. Heaney as
well was the big worry. He had only four touches
across the second and third quarter. That's a big worry.
He's not at his best from last year. Georgia Lardi's
had a big almost game. He dropped so many sitters.
Still kicked three goals, but he could have kicked six goals.
He dropped I think four chess marks. The things he

(41:44):
hit the ground wasn't even a wet game and William
Riley was awesome three goals as well. He's continuing in
his form and good on him after a tough week. Yeah,
very nice fan bases. Geez, I just want to make
a statement here. Yep, I'm going to becoming honorary Port fan.
Oh my, you'd hate them hate him a fan? Sometimes
you've got you love, You've got Hawks, hate killed up Port.

(42:05):
The things you love you hate the most, isn't it
the things you think about it? Think about it? Can
you pay me a picture for the one? No? You
know why I'm on them because Saints are bloody piss Sorry,
I shouldn't be this week on Sunday, So I'm on
the I'm on the Port train. It's a love hate relationship.

(42:26):
Come on, Ken coach another year? Bring him back? Where
does this come from? This is as weird as they've
done it two weeks in a row. I'm pumped up. Wow,
I love do you think that? Go Port? I'm actually
so rattled more like a Port kit, like underneath to
just take it off. No, what have you done with Leo?
Honestly you you must have had a big weekend. Are

(42:47):
you drunk or something?

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (42:49):
Mate, never you don't drink. No, no, don't drink. And
then the other side Sydney, I think they should be worried.
I know we did say this at the start of
the year that they might take a while to build
with Dean Cox as their coach. But the yeah, inefficiency
in front of goal and just their big names not
stepping up for four quarters is a big worry. It
is a big worry. And I just want to get up.
Who they play the next couple of weeks. Yes, that

(43:10):
would actually be interesting. They've got Sons away loss Giants
in Sydney. Oh I'm going to that. Actually, Sydney Derby
Essen at Marvel that's the next they could lose all
because they have to win two of those games, well
they won't. If they win three, that's awesome. Actually what
am I talking to those games? Anyway? That's a Sydney

(43:31):
fan will be thinking big three weeks coming up, Big
three weeks coming up. And because they started okay this season,
like they got lost their first two two, but then
they won the next one and you're like, oh, that's
because they have a really tough fixture. But this is
a bit of a worrying science. Yeah, sure, all right, Yeah,
I've gone through that one. Let's get into Sunday Marvel Stadium.
Another one. What the hell are this game? There's another

(43:53):
one Western Bulldogs and killed or Western Bulldogs eighteen goals nineteen,
one hundred and twenty seven. That is a massive score.
Saint Kilda back to their old ways. Saint Kilda eight goals,
eight fifty six. Now, Leo, I wish if you watched
the teams lost this week except for Port Adelaide. Okay,
you're not. You can't have three teams. Get off the show.
If you have three teams. No, it's not Australian, it's

(44:15):
not Saint Kilda. Right, what did you say on our
team show? You said Ross's way is we'll just defend them.
We don't have to score. Well they did defend. Sorry
no they didn't. They didn't score. They didn't do anything.
I'm right because it was supposed to be good, Leo.
They'll bounce back. Sure, I think we should touch on
the Dogs first. I would love to. I'd love to

(44:36):
touch on the Dogs. Is that your other team? No,
they're not my other fourth team potent it depends on
how if BoNT wins a Brown wins Brown we just
talking about Bond. He was awesome. Did he play like overseas?
He said he needs a week to get back. You
know he doesn't. He doesn't. He like play in a
local game and just have a big warm up because
he was unbelievable. Thirty disposals, two goals, eight clearances, and

(44:58):
it's just his aura. Like what I said on the
Thursday show, struts out. You know, you got your young Sanders,
young Frasier. They're like sometimes they run around like a
headless chuck and you see the Bond, You're like, it's
everything there, just fine. This guy's Yeah, we've got liver
next to We've got Richard's the other side, beautiful, like
we're just gonna be We got Rory love vibe with

(45:19):
his haircut. It's just vibes, all right. To be honest,
I don't think. I don't think any Dogs defender played
this game because the ball did not go down there.
They were that clinical. They were so they were so clinical.
I think I turned it on and Saints were up
twenty five to fifteen or something, and they mentioned Dogs
had had thirteen to five inside fifties. So Saints scored

(45:39):
from every one of their inside fifties, and then from
there it was just a territory like masterclass. It was
so good. Yeah, it started in the middle. The Dogs
had fourteen more center bounce clearances. If you just do
that across the starting on the back foot there, that
is awesome by the Dogs. That was mainly through the
likes of Sanders, Colonel Colonel I forgot about that, Colonel Sanders.
I don't mind that. His career best game thirty two

(46:01):
to spells as a goal fourteen score involvedent. That's a
breakout game. And then Liver one, if we're going to
talk about underrated careers, Liver, Liver, Liver, Liver Liver. And
not only did he just get all the clearances, he
did his funny run where he was like this, he
runs like he's hungover. We all thought, oh, he's getting
a bit old. He had the tackle of the century. Yeah,
I'm calling it. I'm not the central I'm talking to

(46:21):
attack of the century. There's the best tackle I've seen
in my life on brad Hill. Brad Hill was like, oh,
I'm one of the fastest players on the ground. Nope,
Old Liver just absolutely chasing down sold like twenty thirty meters.
He had to run chase up to catch up to
brad Hill and he decked him and the dogs fans
are going crazy. That was awesome. That's one of my
favorite moments of the year so far. It just shows
the s gray heart, the gray cold footscray. Yeah, not

(46:45):
Western bulldog. What the hell is that Western? Where's that West? Yeah?
All of the West just go on footscrare. Maybe maybe
they don't because footscoes are bad man foots crazy. There's
lots of good things about footscrae. What's that? There's got
a they got a ball in net all there? Now? Yeah,
they do rolls around the street. Obviously sad news though

(47:07):
for the dog Sam Darcy out for four to five
months I think it was. But it's not an a
c L. But it's still not good. No, So they
were fingers crossed. Everyone's like, oh crap, you can't have
our best, one of our best lands nasty. That's going
to cost the dogs a bit though, because he is
their fall. They were following when he went off. Yeah,
I know what you mean, but like against the top
four teams, they need Sam Darcy. Top six is probably right,

(47:29):
You're probably right, but top six dare you not top
eight mate back. Oh yeah, because they' one of your
favorite teams. Who else, what's his name, Jackkiggins? He's second
in the Coleman That's the only positive. He was poor,
but the fact that he still got three goals. He
didn't have that many chances. Like I can't. I'm not
blaming the Saints forts they didn't get it down that much.

(47:51):
That was from the likes of Wangane Miller was off.
Sinclair was off. You know't needs to spell on the
magoose Brad Hill. Yeah, not only that tackle, he got
chased down by shocking kick that should have been flat
into the player in the corridor and he kicked at
about forty meters in the air. Dogs went the other
end scored a goal. There was another moment as well
where I think he got I think Riley West just

(48:13):
absolutely decked him and that was from like a mark
so like he was trying to get around in right.
He just I love him as a hawksman, but yeah,
he doesn't meant a break in in the Twoes. Yeah,
I don't mind that. Like I said, the guys are
half back for the Saints that usually are the best.
They would just shut down Dogs had fourteen for fifty tackles, Yeah,

(48:34):
which is awesome. And the Saints only had one player
over twenty two disposals. I believe that would have been
Jack McCray against his old side yep. But again he
didn't have a massive impact. So a bit of a
worrying game for the Saints because even against the Giants last
week or like, it was a good fight, they fought
back in the last quarter of a hundred points. This
game for the territory dominance and Dogs eight and was
nineteen points. I just think look, Ross did try to

(48:56):
change stuff up at halftime, like he subbed Henry into
the middle, Wangon e Miller into the middle, Wood on
a wing, but Dog, it just didn't matter. It didn't matter.
Dogs is just too good. That's the best they've played
in a while, i'd say in the last couple of
years from what I can remember. Yeah, I can't performances
in there. Probably Dogs fans, let us know in the comments.
Let us know in the comments, because let us know

(49:18):
all your thoughts on all of the games. Just anything
about your days going, you like how your day's going,
if you like Lea's hat, like Stat's Guy's cut of
his jib ji. I don't even know what that means.
It's all right, they'll let us know what it means.
I feel like the going to hopefully we get a
lot of comments on this one. Comments all right, I
have the fan base is feeling Dogs. They have in

(49:41):
a solid year. They've got Bevo is mister mallow just
getting players back. I bagged Bevo whole preseason and he's gone. Well.
Obviously Darcy's a big out, so they'll be sad about that.
But everything else the bottom that they had a key
forward that they could that is training should go after
that guy. That's part of on a Wednesday Chill mid

(50:02):
season trade chill for Norton, who says, no, no, I'm
taking Norton. No, I take Norton any It's only that
you're backing up No. God, that's outrageous. But Dogs fans
will be happy. Saints. You're an honorary Saints fan. What
do you I'm an honorary Port fan. No you're not.
I love Port Adelaide, but we're talking about the Saints

(50:22):
are not good. We can get a Mark and Tom
vibe from the office. Who are Saints fans tomorrow? See
how they're feeling but yes, grim it is. I don't
know who they are or that I said from the office.
Oh yeah, fair enough, it is grim. But I think
they can bow. I think they came back. Oh top,
I agree with that. Not top eight, maybe ninth, just right,

(50:43):
and like that. You'll take you'll take that. Three of
my teams in the top nine, in the top nine.
Why do you want to be nine? What do you
want to be sixty? I want to be sixty. Anyway,
that's enough about with this show? Is just all right?
Results another game, mate, you don't want to talk about
the Hawks Monday, Easter Monday, one of the biggest games
of the year. MCG record crowd actually eighty eight thousand,

(51:07):
almost eighty nine thousand at the MCG Geelong Hawthorne. Leo
is absolutely guarded. Geelong twelve goals fourteen eighty six, Hawks
eleven goals thirteen seventy nine in one of the games
of the year, Leo he got anything for us? Was
it the game of the year as a neutral? I
don't think it was. I don't care if it was scrappy.
It was so fun. There was a guy that got

(51:29):
knocked out, there was a guy that does It's fun
you just said it was so fun, and the first
thing I should have said fun, I should have said entertaining.

Speaker 4 (51:36):
I don't know, entertaining. It was, Yeah, it's not the mma, mate.
I shouldn't have said that. I should not have said
that it was still entertaining. I should have said a
knockout far. I just meant things that happened. That was
a guy that did a kick.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
That was hangers. How many times did Hawthorne just shoot
themselves in the foot? You're right, I think both team skills,
especially in the last quarter, were bad. But Hawks they
were going forward a lot and then they just turn
it over all. Call me bias, but I thought we
should have been in front a court of time. Missed
two set shots you normally kicked more, missed one. He
normally kicked Chols the sitter. Yep, there's four goals right

(52:11):
there that we just left out there, and it's just
not the way we normally play. Like even against port
Like at times, our kicking was kind of okay. It
wasn't great, but they're usually good. Normally we're a good
kicking team, and we just well, what what I was
going to swear? What the hell was that? Yeah? Some
of your turnovers were really bad. I thought. I think

(52:34):
Gelong were really sloppy the end of the game as well.
But one thing I will say, you're not a very
positive man, and just in general about the Hawks, the
fact that he didn't play that well and on the
last by seven point you could have won. You missed
a lot of late shots. I don't think Geelong played
that well though they But like we say this, I
might cop some stick, but it feels like Geelong didn't
play like they didn't they beat you, Matt. But I'm

(52:55):
not saying that in a negative way. I'm saying they
didn't have to do anything to win the game. We would.
We were stuffing up, but like that's what good teams do,
is what I'm trying to say. Geelong they understood that, Hey,
this team, like if we just set up how we are,
they're not They're not moving the ball that well. Yeah,
so I'll just waiting for their crap turnover, which happened

(53:16):
like every ten minutes. You did show yourselves in the
foot a lot of time, but they had about five
chased down tackles or four that would I know that
Talks could have moved the ball all be quicker. But
the fact that Geelong, like even like Olli Henry was doing,
chased down to it never happens like it's disrespectful to say,
But that's I'm not I'm much not meaning it in
a disrespectful way. You did it, you heard it. Your
first Leo thinks, Je crap, she didn't deserve to win

(53:38):
the game. That's that's all I said, was that. Stop
talking about Yeah. Look on the Geelong side, they what
they did well is just punished turnover. They did that
really well. Their pressure was good, especially in the front,
which was really game. And I don't know, I just
felt like they just waited for us to stuff up.
They knew we were going to stuff up and they didn't.

(54:00):
You know, they did they did. They had a twenty
tackles inside fifty, which is an awesome that could be
a record that's up there though. But the Hawks themselves
at sixteen, so it was a very pressure field game.
That's what I don't know. That's why I liked it
as a neutral. There was so much happening. One thing
we got to touch on, which I mentioned before It's
not fun, but it was interesting, was Connor Ash's incident

(54:20):
against grimey. That's a month. Now, how much do you
say in a month? Three weeks? So obviously Patrick Voss
did a very similar thing last week and got three weeks.
This one was way more careless, Like I don't think
he was trying to knock him out obviously, but who's
tackling like this? Yeah, he tackled like this and just
closelined him. He was probably just trying to like either

(54:41):
pin the arm or like get to the ball first.
But it was sloppy, it's reckless. It's probably severe impact.
I'd say so three to four weeks. Maybe we should
re enact with you and Marcus on socials. What do
you reckon? I'd be damn on the one swinger, Well,
you're a Hawks man. Yeah, I reckon. We could, but
maybe don't nock him out. He's a good guy. The
other one that we want to touch on, so yeah, I'm

(55:02):
annoyed that he's he's gonna be out. I really like
Ryan wissss. He's just just everything about him. The other one. Now,
you walked into the thing today and I'm not going
to repeat the words you said about James Sisiley, but
you've got some you got some advice for that man.
I don't even know where to begin. He's your captain.
It's hard a soldier. And I know we missed a

(55:23):
lot of chances. I know Watson miss one late. But
he's the reason we lost this game. He's the reason
you're lost, the reason we lost this game. He's had
stopped up a lot, some of the passes he's trying
to pinpoint. It's like he's seeing ghosts. It's like he's
seeing like a ghost of an old player and he's like, yeah,

(55:43):
going to hit you out. What what? Yeah? He's a
good kick. He is a good kick usually, Yeah, but
his decision making is like what are you doing? What
are you doing? Mate? I think he needs to play
four permanently. I'm on that. But then he went forward
and he dropped about four marks. He kicked one out

(56:07):
in the fall that he should have kicked. Well, you
kicked the goal from ten meters out with no pressure on.
Then your point to the crowd. I didn't celebrate that.
By the way, I was fuming with Cisly. He owes
us a game and I'm not talking against North Melbourne
or West Coast or Richmond or Melbourne. He owes us
a game against Brisbane against Collingwood where he has to

(56:27):
be best on ground kick for This is harsh because
I could never do what he does. He's obviously had
a talented career. We're not only are saying that we
could do what they did. I boundary umpired for seven years.
So you can come at me, Sis if you want
your green maggot. Yeah, as long as as long as
you pronounced the m, that's all right. Yeah, it's hard

(56:52):
to say, but Sis, you got it. He was terrible
against Port, so I'm calling him out. He's got to
be better. Yeah. Not fair call, mate, fair call. On
the other side, Patrick Dangerfield just winding back. What a
man's kicked? Four goals? Four goals? Three goals again? Fifteen
is actually went off? That was the tab better had
on the weekend was two plus and fifteen pluses perst.

(57:13):
I thank you very much, Patty nice but three goals again,
pass one off. He's so good, one of the best
players in modern history. Just to transition forward. He's just
showing how good he is because he can put him
in the midfold. He can still get a few clearances
and then you put him forward. It just kicks goals
every week. Yeah, I feel like as well was the
quick players that Geelong we're getting, where Hawthorne's defense couldn't
really track him or they had too many players to

(57:36):
deal with going forward and just found the space and
went from bloody awesome. Yeah, so fan bases, and next
we want to touch on Actually, one thing I want
to say is Jesus should have had goal of the year.
This is a kick that hit the post. Jesus. That
was good. That was so good. Actually, I keep saying.
Actually there was another player, Shorty matter Matter from Heaven,
kicked three goals. He got the match within had five.

(57:56):
He played so well. He had seven indisposals to me.
Akins I thought was pretty solid. He had seven clearances
as well. Ackens was good. He was really good because
he stepped up. Max Holmes didn't have that influence. I
thought Baallely Smith was good, but not like he just
gets the sort of outside ball and wasn't amazing, but
he was still really good. Atkins was the guy. Nine tackles,
seven clearances, So Ackens I was very happy with his performance.
Fan bases are fan anymore you go for port? Apparently

(58:19):
I'm as a Port fan, I'm really frustrated. And as
a Hawks, as a Hawks fan, as a port fan,
I'm happy. As a fan. I'm really frustrated. I was
gonna say, but it's just annoying because you could have
won if we just snuck over the line there. The
Wizard kicked, I should have kicked the late one. He
played pretty well too, I didn't. I did like his game,

(58:40):
the Wizard. I know we have three games we should
win coming up, but it would just be so nice
if we just snuck over the line there, and then
we're five and one, four and two. Looks at it.
Four and two with a percentage of one hundred and
eight is a bit excuse a bit, yeah, yeah, Whereas
if we got the win five and one, but you
lost Geelong, you probably could have won. So it's not

(59:02):
the end of the week. That's what I'll say as
a neutral. Geelong they're flying, they're so happy that that's
a huge win. They got a twelve and three on
Easter Monday as well, So you guys need a lift on.
Get us off Easter Monday. Yeah, get north there. We
put up a good haven't we do good Friday and
you do Eastern Monday? Nah, Because then if we lose
on Monday, we have to talk about it more and
the media will just jump on us more like you said,
the Hawks will probably get jumped on in the media.

(59:23):
Can't wait, can't wait. But yeah, Gelong fans will be
so happy. All right, let's wrap up the show with
a few other last little segments. Tipping results. I think
this was so bad four or five odd I was
nowhere near that as you get two two, so I
think there was six underdogs that won. Then the Saints.

(59:44):
I was really keen on Saint I tipped the Saints.
I tipped bloody North Melbourne, which I will I would
not tip North Melbourne unless we're playing Richmond and West
cost for the rest of the I'm really filthy with
that one. I didn't I didn't tip my beloved Port,
but I tipped Saint Kilda. You didn't tip people other port,
you're gonna tip them to the others? Yeah, I guess
North very nice, but yeah, very tough tipping around. I
think most people, uh, just a lot of underdogs. So

(01:00:06):
maybe next week's going to be even toughly Like who
knows what the AFO was going to throw up at
the moment. Yeah, and then big core results oh boy,
So I had Carlton versus North both score one hundred
plus Carlton almost scored two hundred. So that's that happened.
I would have given it too. That's that's not good.
You had Merit thirty five at eight score involvements. He
had twenty twenty six, and he would have had close

(01:00:28):
to eight scoring. But I'm trying to get it up.

Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
We don't do half sticks here, we don't do half
that's okay. On he had, know that didn't come up? Yeah,
twenty six? Yeah I didn't win, he didn't win. And
then Marcus, Marcus, do you remember whose one? I'm trying
to remember what he had. I'll get it up. Give me,
give me a second, give you okay? What do I
do in the meantime, Well, you can talk about how
you love love Port if you want. I love that

(01:00:51):
is so bad, so's knowe on the comments, if you
love pork. Marcus doesn't even have one in the runch,
so STUFFI don't worry about him. Yes, I'm going to
say he didn't get it either. We need lived on
our big calls. Maybe we should say I'm leading. Maybe
we should have a slight segment called slightly less big calls. No,
because now I'm speak for yourself. I'm ahead on one

(01:01:11):
and a half. All right, last couple of segments here,
let's five through it. Best team of a round? Leo,
who's your best best team of the round? Your candidates? Yep,
that's at the point of the show. I don't actually know.
I'm going to go Collingwood still. I was going to
go color but you can yeh winning away by fifty two.
It's tough though. You could give it to Melbourne. You

(01:01:32):
could give it to Richmond. Richmond's Adelaide Port. Yeah, definitely
thought Saints lost. Definitely a Hawks, So I was going
to go to Richmond. But I'm going to go Melbourne.
Backs against the Wall, oh and five Simon good I
think we had thirty three segments last week about Simon
Goodman should be sacked. I think Dogs had a were

(01:01:53):
better than no they were is in Melbourne. No one
thought they would win. At least the Dogs still favorites Melbourne. No,
no one thought they were going to be They kick
one hundred and seven points. That's their best performance of
the year. So I'm going to Melbourne because I think
I've had it. That was an underrating performance. I think
people aren't really talking about it because their fans don't
turn up. All right, last couple ones here Best on
ground of the week, Leo, who is your best on ground? Well,

(01:02:16):
I'm going to preface this by saying I did miss
like a bit of some games. That's okay. So the
game I watched most well, equally good, Frida. I'm going
to go to George Hillett. Oh, he was bloody good.
Thirty four disposal, thirty four touches, nine tackles, one goal,
gritty working and under letting. Guys like Cher and Walsh
do their things. Good to watch. Yeap, good call. I'm
going to go Cozy Picket. I think he's been so

(01:02:37):
close to getting best on ground so many times a year.
He's had a couple of twenty disposed games with any
kicks zero goals three and another twenty disposal game and
he kicks zero goals two or four. He had twenty
four disposals, five goals to ten, score involvements, four clearances.
Even when they put him in the middle, he was
having an impact. This is It's just an awesome all
round game for him. Like you said, maybe Prey, I'm
gonna have to pay him the big bucks if he
goes over there. Yeah, but he won them the game

(01:02:59):
five and a guy that's complaining the miffit as well.
Just absolutely awesome and shout out to Tim Tarana. I
thought he was good. I didn't see enough of the
game though to give him. He was really good. He
was actually a really efficient bit of a stuff. You
to cane Cornyeah, top one fifty player. I don't think
is he probably isn't. But also, don't come at cane corns.
I love, don't come with cane corns. And then lastly,

(01:03:20):
we're going to finish off with the Super Coach. Wash
do we have to talk about it? I didn't even
get to Sally. This is the first time I'm checking
my score, so this will be a live action yep,
four hundred and eighty nine. No, that's my BBL Supercoach.
I say, you can't get find I didn't even crack
the two thousand. Really, I guess the worst I've ever
I'm sorry in the last two seasons of Super Coach,
I reckon for me, I've had a crap tipping week.

(01:03:40):
North got smashed. I actually did all right, I got
two thoy thirty six, But I had trainer who was sad.
He got two. He rose who was sub We got eleven.
I born in Toby Green. His break even was twenty four.
He got thirty. He should have kept Doc Davidson. Oh,
I didn't even get thirty. They didn't really come to
there as much, did it? Do you know? Sullivan? Twenty eight?

(01:04:01):
What are you doing? A lot of people in super
Coaches talking about the rock combo of Gorne and Cherry
one seventeen and one forty four. So happy with that.
Happy with that because usually one of them goes well
and the other one hasn't. So that's very good. And
a few other ones. I'm really worried about Zorka so
back time I have him so I was under eighty.
It seems like a U issue. It is a bit
of a me issue, but your issue. Yeah, I definitely
need to work on my super coach. But I think

(01:04:22):
that's it later, that's is that it? I think that
is it mate. That was a good show. That was
a great show. I don't know your thoughts in the comments, No, no,
what thoughts in them? We even't got a crowd today.
That's going to be so sad. When we get like
six comments on this, now we're going to get sixty
two comments. I want to have more comments than likes.
All right, so if they're still watching, they're still watching, now,

(01:04:43):
just spam the comments section. All right, there we go.

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating.
