Speaker 1 (00:02):
Round seven is done and welcome to the AFL Today Show.
I'm your host, Liam mckelly and also known as the
Stat's Guy, the Hawks Man in the corner. He's always
got the Hawks scarf on on a Sunday night. Wasn't
the best win, but he'll take it.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Liam.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
I'm back, yeah, feeling happy after a win this week
compared to last week.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
I have not taken this top off. Weirdly weird.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
That's why it stinks in He's We've also got Marcus Barzaro.

Speaker 5 (00:26):
He had a beautiful little toddler's essendon kid on it.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Now he's taking it off. You're making it sound weird
by saying it is right by the way, but you're
just making it sound very weird. I fit into my
Woolen classic classic wool and Es gooons. I think there
was herds on there, Maddie Lloyd.

Speaker 5 (00:45):
Signatures there we go that could be worth a bit
of money.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Didn't make it wi Yeah, well you do.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
On that.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Maybe we should do a little short on that. I
reckon AFL Today. Are you check out the socials so
AFL today? Are you across all the socials except for Facebook?
That's Oussie rules Today make sure you subscribe as well.
You wanted me to get the subscribers up for YouTube
hit the ball as well, because it goes a long
way for the notifications. Marcus, you never have the subscribers up,
but I've heard that you've got a muff once.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, I can thank Leo for that. But we I
do have an exact number for you. This Y six,
eight hundred and fifty three to.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Ten k what is it?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Round ten four?

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Round ten? That's actually we're going.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
To get around. I think, oh we've actually slipped behind
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
We have it because of you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, no, just subscribe. That's all right, We'll get some
more subscribers here. We're going to go have an awesome shows.
Actually was a really good round of foot. A lot happened.
We're going to do the ladder ladder check of course,
the round seven results we're going to split up into
the games with the stats and a few other things
that we all love. We're going to have best on ground,
team of the round, things like that as well. Tipping results.
We went a little bit better than last week at least. Yeah,

(01:50):
last week that was we don't talk about last night.
We don't talk this week was a bit better.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
It was. It was. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
So before we get into that, let's get into the
ladder check. All right, ladder check.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
As an North fan, this is my least favorite segment,
but we got on the top. We got Collingwood in
twenty four points, one hundred and forty percent Lands. They're
absolutely flying at the moment. Second is that the Brisbane
lines to also on twenty four points. They needed that
little bit of a percentage booster against the same I.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Think they were up about seven percent they did. They
needed that just to stay in touch with some of
the other teams.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
The Gold Coast Sons are they're flying twenty points, one
hundred and fifty percent, five and one.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
They've been really really good.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
The Hawks your Hawks LEO five and two back in
the top four.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Happy with that?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Sure, sure, jeez, it must be nothing is ever good
for this man. I know our team are down pessimistic.
You're the most and you've won enough flags anyway. In
fifth is the Adelaide Crow sixteen points there, four and three.
Jws go down to six. They're also four and three,
but a little bit less percentage. So they took a
bit of a hit on the weekend against the Dogs.

(02:48):
There's a lot of clubs four and three at the moment,
I think it was there four of other clubs. Oh yeah,
So all the way down from what is it fifth
to tenth are four and three. So then we've got
Geelong Western Bulldogs three and Port Adelaide all and four
and three. The Dogs are gone really well Geelong, but
of a shock loss, so they won't happy with that.
Down to seventh, yes, and then yeah, Freo got a
good win. Port just got a line against the rules.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Obviously.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Carlton Andcident are both on twelve points, but Carlton and
now jumped him.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
They've jumped and Marcus won't be happy bout the one.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yes, but we should hopefully have a free win on
a blockbuster Thursday night or.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
That could be your favorite against true Oh yeah, that's
stupid game in hand on the ladder. Then we've got
Saint Kilda. Sorry I've already mentioned Saint Kilda. Then Sydney
Swan's are on eight points.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Fourteenth still they just look really closing and Alex is
gone show his finals done or putting a lot over.
Yeah i am, I'm gone. They've got too many injuries
Chad Warner is not playing well. He needs not anything
from But to be fair, they're two games or fifth. Yeah,

(03:51):
I'm not prepared to rule out that way.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
I'm ruled him out. Sydney gone.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Then we've got the bottom four. Melbourne are on eight
points there too, and five. Richmond also to and five.
That's that's not as bad as people respectable North Melbourne
still one in six four points, but we're not the
worst team in the land.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
West Coast Eagles zero and seven fifty five percent.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
How can that be? If you played this weekend? Oh
do you reckon?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
West Coast would beat us.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
But that's a story for another day.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
That is a story for another day. When we actually
all right round seven results, it is with an awesome.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
Round of footy.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Let's get into it, Leo, are you going to start
us off at the MCG please, sir? The Anzac Day
Eve clash.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
There was one word to describe this game of football.
I think I said this last week actually scrappy. Yeah,
I agree, incredibly scrappy.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
H you look at it.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I think it was a very low inside fifty game,
forty six to forty three, so a lot of ball
being played in the middle of the ground. Both both
teams just not really. They're a bit scared to put
it inside fifty. They don't know what's going to happen
because you read the scores before we get into that's
a great point, just so the people know what's going on.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
You did it last week, I did it this week.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Albourn twelve eleven eighty three, Richmond nine nine sixty three.
The pregame ceremony a Zac Day, I love it on
this fantastic phone lights.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
Yep, very good.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
But as I touched on, the skills early were not ideal.
The Tigs brought the forward half pressure.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Though one goal margin that's half half time.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
So it was very similar to the Frero game where
and they've had like three or four games where they
look good in the first half you mean Richmond against
Richmond against free A Yeah, and then the second half
they just dropped off a bit.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Yeah. Yeah, it's that third quarter, wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
The third quarter was Yeah, Melbourne kicked away in the end,
but again scoring seems to be an issue for both sides.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Yeah, and Richmond did kick a few goals late and
do you read into that gorm was off the ground
for all of those goals really, yes.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
And he was best on probably he was best on.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
He had twenty five disposals, thirty four hitouts, twelve score involvements,
six cleress as a ruckman, not only twenty five disposals
but nearly half your possessions and in a score he
was back.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
So everyone thought he was gone. People thought Cherry was gone.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Like it was just a currenting up there.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
But Gorne is well and yeah, he was superb.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I thought Richmond tried to block his runs a few
times but it just didn't work at all. But yeah,
the junk time goals was it? Is it junk time
or what are we doing with the nick larky goals?
I think we should start calling him the nick Larky goals.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Yeah, okay, all respect that man that in the.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
North game, yes, but let's not overall I think, yeah,
Melbourne with gone off the ground. We were a bit
sloppy defensively and Tigers. If you're a Tiger's fan, then this.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Goes into how the fan bases are feeling.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
You're probably thinking, all right, look, that third quarter really
let us down, and probably the start of the game
as well.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
But apart from that, there is still something there.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
They have good pressure. So you touched on the third quarter.
It was thirty nine to eight Melbourne's way in the
third quarter. And they also the des have had their
most disposals in a game in the past three seasons,
so they dominated on the ball. Tom Lynch that I
wanted to have it. I want to see him have
a good season. I could have had them seven. He
kicked two I think out in the full three goals
three seven marks.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
He could add a massive day.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
He played well, but he came off a little bit earlier.
I believe Andrew skin Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
He did, but I think he's I think he's right.
He's done that almost every game this year. He has
made a glass like Jacksonlvarney.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah he is there. We go.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
How the fan base feeling.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
You touched on it, Leo, Melbourne will start off at
least they least got.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
The job done.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Melbourn fans are probably.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Like solo relief two in a row from my back back.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Had to win that, get over the line, build the
season from there. And yeah, I touched on. Richmond fans
probably just happy to see still some of the Green
shoots performing.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Yeah, other than their big loss to was it the Saints.
They've shown what.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
I'd say, five of their periods of games, letting them down.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Five of their seven games.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
You can see, like you said, good shoots and good
things happening. Good shoots, I said, green shoot.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
What do I say, good shoots? Oh?

Speaker 4 (07:58):
There we go.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
That's the time.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
I didn't know that was on, but yeah, that's the
that's the Malbourn verse. Richmond Anzac Day Eve Clash. Let's
get into the big one, the biggest game of the weekend,
the biggest game of the year regular home and its
over and away season, Anzac Day Friday.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Marcus.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
We were there.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
It was a great game, ninety two thousand, which I've
heard people saying, is that a bad crowd for Indsact Day.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
Well, the last two have been ninety six and ninety four.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
It was good. It was wet raining as well, so
like I think, it's still great. An atmosphere was great.
Women were there. Decos As Skipper, first game of skill,
first game of Skipper on a big occasion on the
EZACT Day to kick the first goal of the game
and the way he did really set the tone for
the Magpies in the first quarter on it today.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
Can we just get the scores for the start of
the game.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
I'm not using this sixteen eleven one oh seven Callingwood
to the Bombers ten six sixty.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
You just didn't want to read it out. I think
was a little bit.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
But I think I think that margin of forty one
points is a little bit harsh. I agree. I think
maybe maybe four or five goals ye would be more
respectable for the Bombers. But uh yeah, they're just they're
too clean in the wet calling with they're so good.
But my Bombers, they made a little bit of a
comeback late in the second.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Secondly, you're up out of your seat, like, don't do
this to me again. Actually, I got a fun little
story about that. You were in your Essendon Polo brand
new Esdon polo. We rock up to mc c oh
Marcus is in a T shirt without a collar. That's
that's not ideal. It was eleven o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Yeah, so it was.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
It was a mad rush to fall and something.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
So no, he bought the.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Buddy Colors one one rule and I feel a bit
fat now. I had to get an extra large.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
That was cool.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
That's because they didn't have a large. But anyways, back
to the game. Uh Marror. It just he got plenty
of the ball but again just didn't have the impact.
One who did was was dumb for the Bombers.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Yeah, he was good in that second quarter. Yep, yep.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
The scrappy one off the left was good and it
just shows he's the one player who shows a bit
of grunt.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Grunt got the cocko set play where he shaked it
to him.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
He shaked it to him. That's when That's when I started.
But like the Bombers do, they get my hopes up
and absolutely disappoint me.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Is Coco. I love him, but he's going to get
dropped soon because he hasn't done anything.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
He had a lot of pressure. He'll keep his spot
for second nor because.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
He had actually he could kick a bag against yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Twenty one pressure acts and kicked a goal. He did
his job in the wet But for Collingwood it's always
Jamie Elliott and still side put him who dominate the
Bombers as well as Penury. There's probably a lot of
people it's.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Twenty eleven again.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Well he rolled back the cook, didn't He had a
great game. Five goals, Yeah, yeah, well Jamie Ellie, Yes,
and then about both of them still Siou had a
handful of clearances. He was just everywhere, all around the ground.
Jeremy Howe as well, intercepting for fun. So yeah, Collingwood
get the chocolates.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
They were Yeah, they were way too way too good
in the end, like it was weird the Bombers, but up.
I thought Nate Cady was really good from the Bombers
nine and supposed kick a couple of goals.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
He looked, he looks good on the big stage. Peter Wright,
I didn't even know.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I thought he played fairly well considered he kicked he
kicked one or two. Yeah, I didn't think.

Speaker 5 (11:09):
I didn't think he did that much.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
But I think that's more of a selection issue from
Brad Scott picking three two forwards when you know it's
going to be torrential rain at the MCG Well.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Brad, Yeah, Brad's gots just a it was a tactical mastermind.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
When he makes a decision. He's not very, very stubborn
susceptible to other people's feedback.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
No, he's not easy.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
I just wanted to People were arguing about the Anzactay medal,
so I bought him at fifteen clearances a career high
for a guy that's like fifty years old. Not mad.
You obviously had both desks, has played really well. Josh
Deacos had the most disposals, had a bit thirtifteen in
the halfway through the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
It was ridiculous. And then Aliot had five goals. So
who is your Antac Day Medal?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I would have gone Elliott really probably yeah, nineteen and
nineteen and five in the word, I think let alone
five five goals on a good day in the in
the way even better?

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Fair good call.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
And now how the fan base is feeling. Collingwood obviously
top of the ladder calling.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
They're happy, laughing, they've got the theme song still playing
at home right now. Whereas the Bombers, it's just like
every year positive signs, but we're not going to get there.
It's just going to be another another year like that.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
You're like the only Bombers fan that I've met that
doesn't have really high expectations.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
We're going to make the finals every year. I feel
like Leo wod backing up. A lot of Bombers fans
are a bit bit one eyed.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
I don't reckon then I all know that they're bad.
I don't know about it, but in game they get
a bit too much.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Yeah yeah, and then yeah Bomber's it's like having a
disobedient father who hit you when we're child. You just
expect the worst.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Oh that's a bit of a summer not talking about
something else. A bit bit brighter is what ally's going
on over there on the couch Anzac Day. At Friday
night at Opta Stadium was the score that's gone because
I'm actually going to do this properly.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
It's a Freeman twelve.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Thirteen eighty five, Adelaide nine thirteen sixty seven. Now after
quarter time, this was a really, really pretty good game.
But the Crows just turn up. I said they're gonna
have a fast start. They are the best first half
team in the competition. And because I said on the
show Crow's disappointment, Crows disappointed me all last year.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
What did I say? I said, they would you a
bad start, So I asked about You're like, oh that's
not great. That great advice, But yeah, but.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
We say we did back them to miss the eight
stas guys.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
So that's true.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Don't hate it, it's true.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
But yeah, that was an idea.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
So they had a twenty five point lead at quarter
time Forreer, which is the exact opposite the way I
thought this game was going to go that adelaid were
really strong in the second and fourth quarters, but they
just need a more well rounded effort. They show that
little spurts and things like that. But it was one
in the middle. You got Jordan Dawson, who's I don't
think he's been at his best. He has really good games,
then he just fades away a bit, like the team
like Adami exactly right. But Brashaw and Sarong oh unbelieve

(13:45):
we're probably one of the best combinations in the midfield
in the AFL at the moment. Seventy one disposals sixteen
clearances between them. Like, you can't do much better, reckon.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Sarong heard what you said and was like, cop this stat.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
I pretty much said that he was almost boy. Yeah,
he put me on the fold.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I say, he said he's he's not. He doesn't really
give the impact, gets nothing touches.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
He was getting nothing touches this year, and I don't
know he gave a big He got a lot of clearances.
I think he got like ten clearances, so Brayshaw got
the medal as well for the game, which is pretty
good after there thriller you have three goals, but he
was struggling to make a full imback and they had
the eight nine disposals.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, he got a finger injury. Yeah, at some point
throughout the game. Tours end. So look, I don't think
he's going to miss any miss any action.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
But he went off a couple of times, so that
rattled him a little bit.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Without Forgody, it's still decent signs because free men we
are very good defensively, they're very structured.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
So kick three. He's going to be a.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
Great player, Yeah it is, Yeah, you know, is he already?
Is throw a great player already?

Speaker 4 (14:44):
He's a bad player, No, is he?

Speaker 3 (14:47):
This players you just watch and you're like, he's a
great player, like Conor O Sullivan to Hamley, he's a
great player. I know it's only his second year and
he's not really proved.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
That's a good point. But you're just watching me.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
You're like, good point, you just he's a great player.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
That's fair, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Free I Well, they did this last year where they
shut off at about three quarter a time. I think
Eliza Riley we've had on the show. Coade Sports always
writes articule and they never ran, so not that adelaid
we're going to make a full comeback. So they're lucky
that a big lead. They didn't score a goal for
you on the last quarter and they still won by
what was it three goals, so they're a bit lucky.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
There's something missing from this team to They should be
a finals.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Team mates, they should be what do you think, like,
what are they're saying like their coach, Yeah, exactly you are.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Yeah, the coach is probably just.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
Without So I'm a big fat saloon because we just
had a big burger, not good.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Just let in the audience.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
That's right for those just wondering. I wanted to do
a muck bang with all of it.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
But let us know.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
That's why they called you big puppy on the Crucker Show.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
No oh, that's hugged out boys. Please, But did we
want to actually let us know in the comments?

Speaker 2 (15:53):
There we got's I said, let us know in the
comments about let us know in the comments. I don't
know if I don't know if Lessie behind the camera
was actually hear us eat she's got the headphones on.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
I don't know about that. Yeah, I'm just going to
have to all right.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
How the fan base is feeling well, started with Adelaide.
I think they're a bit worried. They're a bit like
the hat a really good win last week, it didn't
show the signs.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Yeah they're not.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
They're like an eighth to tenth team, but they're not
like they're not the top six yet. That's what they're
aiming for. His top six.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
I think it's going to be same as Frio though.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Similar to the year that they got knocked out by
that controversial goals late the ben Keys one where they
had a great percentage but they just could not get
it over the line. And I feel like that's just
unfortunately where it's heading again. They've got to shape up
a bit.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
Yeah, I agree. And then what's the other team for
other teams?

Speaker 1 (16:43):
The other team, the Purple team, as with some commentator
the Dokers, the Dokers, they they were similar though because
they didn't. Yeah, for sure, they're very similar teams. They're
both teams that should be aiming to top six. They're
just not good enough yet get to get the four
points to get into similar competitor and then move on
to next week. Look, it wasn't a great performance, was it,
But they got the four points.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
I'm a bit worried about Saturday Marvel Stadium, Leo, you're
all across this one, your beloved Saint Kilda as you're
in a horse St Kilda verse Brisbane.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
What happened in this one? The scores and then a
few stats.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
And then Saint Kilda eleven seven seventy three Brisbane seventeen
sixteen thirty.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Three scoring shots. That is quick math right there.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
One hundred and eighteen points lines. They were pretty wasteful
early four goals six in that first quarter. They should
have been absolutely smashing them by more Zorco and will
Ashcroft both ended with thirty four past disposals.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
They were in sane.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
But the main guy, Locking Neil thirty one touches three
goals if you don't mind Locking Neil three goals, twelve
score involvements.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
And he's just an elite gut runner, isn't.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
He He was everywhere.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
It was everywhere.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Every time I just saw on the TV he just
popped up and then he kick a goal and then
he'd be at full back and then he's so good.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
So he had a slightly underwhelming start to the season
for his standards, for his high standards, but now he's
kicking in the gear. Was playing sat and did it again.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
Yeah, it was sensational. Do you reckon his gut? Running?
Is a little bit goes unnoticed for how.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Yeah, well he has birds tattooed on him, so he
should be able to Look, he's not some of the
worst tattoos in the game.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
That's trying to talk him up. I'm just getting three girls.
Would Neils tattoos or Livers tattoos? Livers? I don't even
know livers.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Liver has the greasy guy from the Simpsons. He's got
a freaking out bar.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
I definitely don't want either. I tell you doesn't have tattoos,
but speaks like he should. Jack Higgins not that much impact,
but he had great.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
Forward craft and accuracy with three goals. He was superpose shining.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
You're saying that, but he had brain surgery.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Did he Yeah, yeah, he's got a big skull, but
he was already a bit weird before that.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Oh, you're just saying you just what you just want
to call him thick?

Speaker 3 (18:52):
No?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, yes, he said he's heart beat half beats a
million beets minutes per second.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Yeah, that's all I'm saying. I'm not having a crack
at him, just quietly though. Did you guys see Ross
Lyne or Hugo Garcia?

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Do we think that's I didn't see a controversy what happened,
So I think he just basically just sprayed him and
subbed him out and a few choice words.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
By the looks of things, I don't think. I think
it's fine. But a few people in the media are like,
we're past that these days, I think every now and then.
But he's a young kid. They're saying, you can't do
that to a young so.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Young kid in a still nineteen or eight, like you're
an adult.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
I thought it was fine. I just wanted to raise
it to see your thoughts.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
Yeah, fair enough, hipboard.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
He's having a good month, is he?

Speaker 5 (19:43):
No? I think he is. He's got five goals.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Last week we said he wasn't.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
We had the good second half each other round.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
He's got four goals, two goals and five goals and
his last three and then before that, I think he
had one goal on a fair few touches.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
So I'm saying he's having a good month.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
That's my opinion.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
But you didn't have to read it out.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
No, I'm just I'm reading it out. I want to
talk about it. Dad. I'm trying to stay on top
of it.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
You're doing a good job.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
Nas was solid thirty two and a goal, but it
was a bit sloppy. Yeah, he had four turner, but
I swear he had more every time he got the ball.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
I think he was.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
He had sixteen touches for about twenty Super Coach points.
At one point he was he had a lot of
the ball, but just didn't have that impact that he
usually has.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
He was turning it over.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
A lot of Saints players looked like they were just
a bit shaky against like a bigger team like Brisbane,
and this is the old Saints way.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
They dropped off.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
They just got rattled because they were scoring so much.
And Ross has said, no, we're defending first and everything's
now just out of whack and they're playing Las six
Saint Kild football. How the fan base is feeling well, Liones,
they'd be feeling pretty good. They needed to bounce back.
They've won the last seven matches against the Saints by
an average of thirty two points. So they probably went
into this thinking we've got this easy, probably win it,

(20:55):
and they did and they're happy and they're in the
top two. So yeah, my complaints and Saints it's like
myself and not happy like yourself.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
You need to change colors on there, mate, no matter.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
I've got it on underneath. If they won, I would
have taken it off.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
But they're as Saints fans like, oh, we're doing this again.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
They're doing it again, doing it again. I've done it again.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
I've done it again.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
And as we finished talking about one of my teams,
we talk about another one of my teams.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Oh what tagaway?

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Which is which?

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Do you?

Speaker 5 (21:22):
None of these are your teams?

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Oh yeah, they are so sad. Sorry, by the way,
you guys are terrible. I was perfectly trying to have
a laugh, mate, I'm just sitting here.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Man also joining the conversation were just vibe and mate,
you can just jump on, jump on the journey.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
I was just so.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Enloightened between what was coming in between both my ears.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Yeah, it was beautiful, all right.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Saturday and wrote stuff for usline Saturday at the Adelaide Oval,
Port Adelaide.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Sorry, Lera's I can't keep up with all your teams.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Port Adelaide at Verst North Melbourne put I laid fourteen
goals thirteen ninety seven. North Melbourne got really close, but
thirteen goals ten eighty eight. Oh boys, I'd obviously rather
lose by what do we lose by nine points then
then one hundred points?

Speaker 4 (22:04):
But we got a.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Bloody one this one decently have to win. You have
to stop having these honorable losses and take the momentum
when it's given to you. And you had chances to
win the game as well.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
It was the first quarter though, That's all it was.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
So we uh North.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
I should probably not say a North Melbourne matched them
or beat them in every quarter after the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
So we played really well, just the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
What was that doing.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
I'm not saying I'm not happy with it. I'm not
happy with it, but it's really frustrating. It was a
seven goal or two first quarter, really fast paced power.
They looked about the gates a bit. Our defense. We
had three young guys in defense, which held up really
well after the first quarter. But I think we're a
bit rattled. Hardaman is only in freezer. I think it's
under ten games, yeah, fourth game or something like that.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
He was really good.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
I thought he was really composed Jason nor Francis. Though,
here's the big talking point. Not only did he have
twenty seven in a goal, but he was a bit
of a brats. Twenty seven one goal, seventeen fights, yeah,
seventeen fights, three fifty penalties.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
He was was a bit mad.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
He copped it from Ken, didn't it three quarter a time?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
He walked off so I saw Lloyd, Oh, I think
it was Yeah, maybe it's someone else on the Sunday
Footy Show said it's a droppable offense or nearly droppable
offense now, but.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
None of he's getting twenty seven at a goal.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Like. But the only thing I will say, because I
don't I can't stand Jesson on Friends, is take an
ice bas mate, take an ice bath mate.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
There we go.

Speaker 5 (23:27):
That came out, Go in there.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Joy Sinkin did get him a bit dirty, which I've
said on this show before. Joys Sinkin's one of the
dirties players in the AFL, even though I do like him.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
But Hornet probably needs to just rain it in a
little Biteah.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
He was superb, so he probably can't be too critical,
and I don't think it's droppable.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
He cost him a couple of goals from him his
fifties theore.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
But you can't be treating Ken like that. No, that's
just not on. I will stick up for my man Ken.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Oh, stop glazing port out of this. Is this is wrong.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Surely it's just wrong because what I'm wearing, it's nothing's
been more right.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
George Yards probably could have had the biggest game ever.
He just missprayed a few.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
So this are we talking about the misses here?

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Yeah, that's why he was a part of the misses.
Six easy misses, including two there was two from the
top of the goal square in the space of two minutes.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
Yeah, it was wild.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
There was five fifty penalties in the game, shocking umpire like.
As an offense, we got the rubber of the green,
that's for sure, and just then it was just an
awesome game of footy. If you were a neutral, I
was just stressing the whole game. Paul Curtis, we can
touch on him for other reasons, but he was really good.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Three goals. Again, I thought he was probably one.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
Of but he can't win the Brownlow.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Now he can't three goals for as many weeks as
he got suspended.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
So let's touch on.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
Let's touch on it.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Have a ran.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Taul Curtis simply just tackled a man. He put him
into the ground at his head. Yes, did get in custs,
but it was the most normal tackle that happens every
single game. Happens every single fight fight, every five minutes
in an AFL game. It was a tackle exactly like that.
Harleie Reid had exactly one that we were watching in
the office. No, Baltimo did a pretty good tackle and
he got he got jumps. Yeah, so maybe he's got

(24:59):
jail for me.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
Paul Curtis gone to jarn for this. That's a the
AFL one.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
If they've give him three weeks, what are they given
to a balter Anyway, that's another story.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
But this is a joke.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
You had a bit of a rant on it about
on our AFL today au social so check that one out.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
Yeah, it's not it's not his fault. It's just when
he tackled him. Josh Sin's knees is what forces his
body to and his head to go towards the ground.
We saw a very similar tackle in the Hawthorne game
when the Wizard chased down Harley Reid. It was similar
in terms of falling sort of on top of him.
Harley refilm on his knees first, obviously didn't get why

(25:32):
didn't get them? Cast a wizard put a spell the
y that's.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Good, he said it was good.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
That wasn't good anyway? Are we all going? Are we
all in agreement? That's zero weeks? Yes, so we've got
to pull up on our AFL today.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
I think it's so far it's eighty eight percent has
been Where is that twelve percent? There's a few people
that said one week and most people said zero. It
should be zero, should be zero, and then.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
This little North Melbourne would not be proud.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Can we see it?

Speaker 2 (26:02):
If you can't see it?

Speaker 3 (26:03):
This is? This is?

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Oh it turned off? Okay, well we can put it
in the show.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
That was.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
That's more editing for me.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
Yeah, Leo loves editing.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
So I'm not putting that in anyway.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
Last one I want to touch on is Luke Parker.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
He was also in games Round of twenty seven and
a goal probably his best performance as a North player.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
I think he was really good.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Yeah, seven games, but Paul got overlined they were a
bit shaky and I'm not confident for the rest of
their season because of that.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
You've got an absolute star in your hands though with
George Warlow kicked a very good goal and just the
way I love the way he goes about his footing.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
He's so tough.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
Lastly, do we just want to touch on Larkie? Is
he junk time Larkie?

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Yeah, he was very I don't think most games he isn't,
but this is this is the first game I've ever
watched where he missed easy shots.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
I think it is so straight in front, forty straight
in front.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
It's so tough to say because he is the most
accurate kick in the game so many games. Argument, my
argument for this, and I'll just say it quickly, is
that North Melbourne have been terrible for a long time
and he's kicking goals when you're down by ten goals.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
Yeah, but he's also one he's never really.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Had to kick goals in close games.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
That's true. He's probably maybe he's not used to.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
It's just one to watch.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Yeah, No, you're right.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Every time it gets a little bit close, he's kicking
goes a bit of a miss. It's probably a bit
very tough.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Anyway.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
I've touched on a lot of this game because of
the suspension as well, but how the fan base is
feeling as a North fan.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Look, we actually put up a really good fight. I
think we could have won that.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
There was a few shots we sprayed on a bit filthy,
but at least we showed something and it showed a
bit of fight and we didn't concede one hundred and
forty points.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
So yeah, there we go.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
And then Port Adelaide, Leo, you're a somehow a port
fan as well. Very happy?

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Are you very happy with that? You won by nine points?

Speaker 4 (27:45):
I am stoked.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
I'd be a little bit worried.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Yeah, a little bit worried. Loss is coming on, all right?

Speaker 5 (27:51):
Next game Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
This was actually, this is a really good game as
well at Monica Oval in Canberraws Bulldogs Marcus with the.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Scores GBS eleven eighty one to the Dogs third seventeen eleven,
one hundred and thirteen.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Does that equal anyone.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Here on the twelve the AFL up because they're wrong
there somehow, twelve eighty one AFL today is better than
AFL first not.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Hard the given Curtis, But hell, how hell are the
dogs that good? They got that dog in them?

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Is this?

Speaker 4 (28:27):
Is this more the dogs? Or is this more Giboso's back.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
They've got a guy called Flowing gone back inside.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
He didn't even get eight arms way because he's going to.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Kick four on your Yeah, four goals, career high four goals,
twenty two disposals. Uh, Toby Green, whoeveryone says is the
most important for ward in that Gibs Well, one of
one of your friends loves to say, but he was
off again. I think you only ended up with fifty
something super coach points and at thirty the week before

(29:01):
as well. But yeah, he's been struggling doing a little
bit rough patchion on Jimmy West. I've lost Adelaide. They've
now lost to the Dogs two.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Games they could have like easily won in hinds, like
in terms of like before the game has happened to
go like that's what they know.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
You know, another guy that maybe his skin vaults aren't
the only thing he needs to worry about.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
The package.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
What's the opposite of a package?

Speaker 4 (29:21):
The stamp?

Speaker 2 (29:21):
The stamp there we go sort of a package is
just Australia Personal just delivering packages.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
Yeah, he's not delivering at all, going to the wrong there.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Yeah, then before the show.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Meeting me in the car park two levels below and
I was running around meeting someone in the car park.
It's a little bit shady.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
What was that?

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Sorry? Next point, The Dog's forward craft was on top
sixty one forty five inside fifties compared to the Giants,
and scored in fifty percent of the inside fifties. In
the second half. They just went a little bit rampant,
particularly the second quarter, and they just continued. They continued
that tree throughout the quarter and last they kicked yet

(30:02):
four goals, three in the third quarter and six goals
too in the second quarter.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
A lot of goals from their mids too, which is
a good thing to see the Darcy people going where
they That's true.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
As I said, Harms you got. Kennedy West has been
in good form.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
He's not one that I've been a fan of in
recent years in terms of his output, but I think he's.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
He's working a lot harder than yeah, and he used
to doing previously, really turning into like a pressure forward
like playing if you're playing on him as a defender.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
It's hard to play against and.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
That's great, the move to Rory love the love stuff.
He played particularly well. He kicked a few snakes. I'm
not sure about the.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
That look go on, that's the lot the lobster look
like he got shot in the head.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
But that one is also left him with very little
to work with future weeks.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
That's not going back for a while. It looks like
a bowling ball out there.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Reckon.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
He buffed his two pay question.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
I'm going to play with?

Speaker 5 (31:08):
How many tiktoks?

Speaker 2 (31:08):
His girlfriend going to do about that if he's already
too many?

Speaker 5 (31:11):
So yes, yes, I should come on the train next week.
If you got on the what give me?

Speaker 4 (31:20):
I don't know how to respond to that.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Yeah, anyway, I'm not I'm not.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
I'm not saying the Dogs are a premiership team, but
he just did. But no, they're not. I'm not saying
they're a premiership team. But every premiership team gets goals
from midfield, and as you mentioned, that's a big reason
why they're winning games at the moment and and being
good without the bond. But now that his back, it's
just another element.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Are you talking about? Harms is at his career best game,
four goals, twenty two disposals.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Yeah, it's got to be. I reckon, that's up there.
You give us a little pig noise? Why did you
do it?

Speaker 2 (31:50):
I don't know anything animal noises in this.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
I think his nickname is big or something.

Speaker 5 (31:57):
He looks like.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
I don't it's not like pig teeth.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
If his nicknames not pigg and I did that noise?

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Your pig teeth look like.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
The fans want to know how the fan basees are feeling,
So JWS, what do you reckon?

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Jubus a lot of concern. I think they're a little
bit nervous. They're starting to get in the ende of
their seats a little bit. And where is the dogs?
They're on the edge of their seats for a different reason.
They're loving the football that's been played, and they're winning games.
Can't go wrong. There we go.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
I can't believe I just did a pick impression.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
But there we go. I don't know why you did that.

Speaker 5 (32:25):
That's all we do for this SHOWT done worse on
this show. We only know that, I reckon.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
I have all right.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Sunday People's First Stadium, the People's Stadium.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
As they call Sunday fun Day, Sunday Funday as we
like to call it.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Gold Coast first Sydney, the score, stats, everything in between.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Please gold Coast seventeen fifteen one hundred and seventeen to
Sydney twelve seven seventy nine. Now, all you need to
know about this game is I had a long shower
and gold Coast went from three goals down to about
ten goals up.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
What on earth has happened there? Do you want to
know more about the long shower or the game?

Speaker 4 (32:55):
The game? The long shower is very uneventful. Yeah, it's
more of a sad shower. Oh, I don't know. One
of those days?

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Are you a sad song in the show?

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Now?

Speaker 4 (33:03):
I listen to music?

Speaker 3 (33:04):
No, what do you do?

Speaker 4 (33:05):
You stand there, stand there, wash myself.

Speaker 5 (33:11):
I'm pretty sure this game was better than that.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
This game was a lot better than that.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
But I needed to get refreshed for this show.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
But Sydney started this game really positively, like you get
to they've got five goals up at one stage, yep.
In that second quarter you had Chad Warner firing two goals,
twenty four disposals, signs for two years and then kicks
two goals. It's fitting written in the stars, Written in
the stars. Maddie Roberts was good with twenty eight touches.
He need twenty and a god I'd love for He
need just to get a few more disposals.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
Yeah, very dropped off a bit, but.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
A few more touches.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
And I just think Swans is a few of their
bottom six players just letting them down. You know, Florin
hasn't been in the best of form. Hay would only
six disposals this game and three freeze against. And you've
got guys like Corey Warner, James Jordan, not really.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
James Jordan has a pick up like you're supposed toposed
to be really good time.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
I think he's been good, but this wasn't one of
his better games.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Brodie Grundy has got dominated as well. Yeah he only
had ninety witty twenty three.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
We need to talk about witsy and I was just
about to, so thank you for the Segway lads.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Eighteen disposals, five frees four So he's working hard in
the ruck. There twenty eight hit outs and he kicked
a point which it was a goal. One hundred and
twenty five. Super coach points he was superb. Yeah, we've
got to give him credit. And it sucks for Ned Moyle,
who we love on this show.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
He's been on the show for the show great best
mallet in the business.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
That's how good Witsy is.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
He's keeping you know, Ned Moyle is at number one
ruckman somewhere else and he's keeping him under the team.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
Humphrey was awesome.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Four goals, eighteen disposals, Johnny Noble, the weapon, thirty touches.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Here's the weapon mate.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Apparently yeah, apparently that's the only thing about Bailey Humphrey
sixteen thousand. Super coaches traded him out this week.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
Oh I think he said he's scored sixteen thousand.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
He's got sixteen thousand.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Now one hundred and fifty one he scored, which is superb. Look,
I know the Suns with the second half blitz get
this done.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
But it's a bit like port Adelaide, would you be
a bit concerned? And this can go into the.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Fan bases about like they're down five goals at home
against an out of form Sydney team.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
Why does it take a bit of a rever up
for them to get going.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
They got the job done. Though like in the past
they would have. If you're down by twenty gold gross,
you're like, oh, pack her up. At least they and
then they smashed them after that they were really good.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
So I suppose as a fan you'd be You'd be
happy obviously, but you probably maybe want to see a
bit more of a complete performance. No, I agree, And
Sydney fans kind of touched on it in the ladder check.
They're probably right now thinking if we don't like start
winning and winning consistently, finals are done.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
You said, fink they're out of the finals race. That guy.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
I think they're still in it. In a Hawthorne I
and five last year I think Brisbane were two and five.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
Yeah, but it's very very rare. It's very rare to
make the finals from where they are.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
How can you get what they have done it before?
They were I went six they won. Yeah, yeah, twenty seventeen,
I reckond.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
I think they were playing a lot.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
No, they weren't pay a lot better because they're oun six,
but that season they we're going to play. It seems
to be something different about them.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
There is if their list is injured, I will say
that I'm not saying that's any like.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
There's not many.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Superstars injured other than maybe Callum Mills. I'm going to
get some comments. Let me know in the comment.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Oh good, we said they.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Missing a trick in the midfield. Does he need to
go back?

Speaker 4 (36:21):
No, I think they're missing a trick in the forward line.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
Then how they moved there?

Speaker 2 (36:24):
But could could that be he?

Speaker 4 (36:26):
No, I think it's their movement into the forward line.
I think it's more of a system thing.

Speaker 5 (36:30):
I think, yeah, I'll take it back.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
They have the tools, but it's a bit just JANKI No.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
I think it is to do with their injuried.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
The more we talk about but it is Dean Cox's
first year, first year and they're still long seasons work
away and see for that one.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
All right, that's Gonko Sydney. Let's get into the other
Sunday game at the MCG. This was one of the
most fun games I've watched all season. There was so
much happening. Carlton versus Geelong. Marcus, You've got the scores
and everything in between.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Carlton fourteen ten ninety four to July twelve, four very accurate,
seventy six. The Blues win by three goals, and for
periods of that game it sounded locked. There were about
two hundred thousand people in. It was so loud, So
it was a great crowd for a great game, but
rewarding for Carleton because they obviously had eight more scoring shots.

(37:17):
They dominated the disposals, almost had seventy more. They had
about fifty more marks as well, nineteenances, fifties, yeah, clearances,
inside fifties, everything in between. They got on top of
the score board. They definitely deserved to win, but they
didn't do all without a scare because Geelong written to
come back in that third quarter and at the start
of the last quarter as well. The dangerfield played very

(37:39):
well again. Bailey Smith was superb with twenty nine and
a goal. Exact stat line as George Hewitt Sem Walsh
returned back to Formia thirty had a good game.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
He was really good. Yeah, back on the.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
The new grind mis man as no grind mins this week.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Actually that's why Geelong lost.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
You know who fit into his although John Manor, Yeah,
career high and I'm guessing twenty disposals, eleven tackles.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Ye, yeah, killed it. Jeremy. The tools dominated this game
on terms of the scoreboard, Jeremy Cameron four goals to
Harry and Charlie kicked three each six between us.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
Time they've really combined. Obviously, Harry's been out, they've all.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
Been This is what maybe the second time they've had
a proper run of like a full game together.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
So things to look forward to for the Blues. But
are they back?

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Are they back?

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Boys?

Speaker 4 (38:29):
I'm not convinced.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
No, yeah, because I think good win though it was
a very.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Good win because Gelong were threatening and this is like
the first time cult and responded.

Speaker 5 (38:37):
But Geelong played really bad like.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
They're for a few weeks now. I don't think they've
been playing Geelong.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
No. Actually, don't mind you Long. I hate a lot
of teams, but I don't mind Long. Other than their
game against Brisbane which they look really good to come back,
they just look scrappy. They don't hit targets. Uh, there's
a few the Irish boys or not. I love Ireland,
I love the Irish recruits. But the two of the
worst day of plays, Mallen and O'Connor, they give away.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
So many I know you're probably on the way of
the Hawthorne game. At the Hawthorn game, O'Connor turn the
ball over very yeah, very easily. Yeah, and I think
I think the Blues ended up scoring how sixty or
seventy points from turnover, which they just haven't done in
recent weeks. So good so ones for the Blue Baggers.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
The other good sign for the Blue Baggers is a
man that I was saying, why did they recruit him
because he's pretty old, Nick Aynes.

Speaker 5 (39:31):
He was one of the best players.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Yeah, he was.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
I think he had about at least eight insept marks.
He had how many marks for the game he had?
Let me just double check that. Thirteen marks for the game,
and I'm pretty sure at least eight of those were intercepts.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
He was unbelievable. He just got in the right spots,
used his body. It was like nickains of old.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
I haven't seen that for.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
Yeah, it's good to give him portals because everyone was
on his back.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
I was on his back rightly, so it was pad
to respond and probably work into the new system a
little bit.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
It's good to see.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Another soft tissue injury though. For Zach Williams. Yeah, he's
the first goal of the game and then did his
calf not too long enough to that and then Stewart
was hobbling really badly. Yes, and then he somehow because
it's me, argue out the backcause it was mcl isshoes.
So the commentators was saying they think that even if
he has a sworn for the rest of the season,

(40:19):
he's just going to try and play through it because
he's had that many No, but he's had that many injuries.

Speaker 4 (40:24):
They're like, stuff it, like, you can just play until
you can't walk. That's playing until we'll pull you out
now before the game. Yes, classic Chris Scott can't get
it getting away with this.

Speaker 5 (40:33):
I just can't.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
He's done it again then, So that the two things
that I just wanted to touch on before we finish
up for this one will Will White see that's a
bit of will Will He shanked one. They hit the
post just outside the goal square.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
I missed that because and then Georgia hewittt clutch finished
absolutely roosted it through the middle. It was awesome.

Speaker 4 (40:52):
Surely Will White's nickname is Walter.

Speaker 5 (40:54):
Sure, that's a good one.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
Got to be the nickname of our show now is Walter? Nickname?

Speaker 1 (40:59):
Will if Will water White www dot com don't do com?
Oh that geez have how the fan base is feeling. Obviously,
boys the Blues, they'd be so excited. I believe you
just did that and we cut down to like like
on Street now where it is on fire.

Speaker 5 (41:18):
It's pizzass right everywhere, the.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Climbing the street poles, the street signs.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
No, I'm actually I was gonna say happy for con fans,
I'm not, but the fact that they beat a team
that's gonna be up there this year they'll be very
happy with.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
No.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
I do think the Geelong played really badly, but that's just.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
How are Cats fans feeling.

Speaker 5 (41:36):
Cats fans are a little bit worried.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
I think they they've only had two or three games
where I go, they played well, like Monday, both teams
were very off East Monday. Sorry, and yeah, I think
they're a bit wait what do you reckon about Cats fans?

Speaker 3 (41:48):
Yeah? I think they're still making the happy that they
banked the two wins for like two weeks before, because
they were both fifty to fifty games being down against
Adelaide Hawthorne, so they'd be had they banked it.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
Slipping the radar, they're hopefully thinking.

Speaker 1 (42:02):
Yep, fair enough, all right, last one for some reason,
The Hawks were at Marvel Stadium Sunday, Hawthorne at versus
West Coast Leo.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
I was there.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
He's a fourth team of the Weekend that he supports.
He's in his hawkscarf Well, what happened at Marvel Stadium?

Speaker 3 (42:15):
So the scores eighteen sixteen, one hundred and twenty four
Hawthorn to West Coast eleven, eight seventy four. I've got
two words for your boys, and this is all you
need to know about this game, Okay, Marbio child, I.

Speaker 5 (42:26):
Saw a lot of the.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Nah.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
He was very good. Seventeen touches, nine marks, three goals.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
He was.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
He was.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
He took a screamer, he took a couple screamers. He
just looked strong with the hands. And I'm not going
to expect that from Marbo every time, but he was.
He was good, and I just, I just I was
happy for him. I was happy for him. Big Meek
in the rock he monstered flying nineteen disposals, fifty eight hitouts.

Speaker 4 (42:53):
If you don't he got the first.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
So I was tracking me a little supercoach team. He
got the first twelve hit out of the game.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
Yeah, he was superse They just couldn't get Yeah, the
Senate clearances I think at the start were fueled by
me and then West Coast kind of got back into that.
I thought one of Hawthorne's best players was James Warpole.
I know he only had twenty four disposals, but he
was in an under He was very clean. He was
breaking tackles left, right and center. So it was a
really important game for him coming back from injury.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
He's one of those as twenty in a goal.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Yeah, he's an important player for us because I think
when he was out of the impact was felt. So
you're good for him to be back. And just amongst
them about Jack Gunston, a little bit of shout.

Speaker 4 (43:31):
I was getting there, mates, I was getting there. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
Four goals, his snap in the last was very nice
to see. He's probably our most informed forward apart from Marbill.

Speaker 4 (43:41):
No, he's more informed than Marbill.

Speaker 5 (43:43):
Yeah, he's a lot more.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
We just we just wanted to see Tom Barras kick
a goal.

Speaker 4 (43:47):
They got Sam forward. He's like a tall liver. He
runs like liber Does he run like this?

Speaker 3 (43:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (43:53):
A little bit similar head as well.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
And just one more shout out for Hawthorne. Cam McKenzie
he's a young Sam Mitchell. That's a big ninety's movements
mate is angry man. He's not not yet, but he
just moves like him.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
It's it's like nuts. Now.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
I know West Coast lost this game by fifty points, yep,
but I genuinely I saw some signs and I know
Flinny got monster, but he worked back into the game.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
He can be proud of that. Marreck down back.

Speaker 3 (44:22):
Twenty five touches was really good one that didn't really
light up the stat sheet sheet. Nineteen disposals, seven tackles
played on ball the whole day. Jack Hutchinson really, I
really like the way he went about it on ball.

Speaker 5 (44:36):
Just Lively.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
Probably has to fix up his disposal and get more
of it, but I thought he was a positive.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
Hewett probably needed to kick it a bit more. Thirteen
touches from seventeen seventeen sorry, thirteen handballs from seventeen touchdoah.
He needed a few more kicks in there, but he
might have got a few clears.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
So about last year's goal the Year winner, goal of.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
The Year winner Harley Reed nineteen and two, it was
it wasn't.

Speaker 5 (45:02):
Explosive best. He hasn't meant an explosive best all seasons.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
And I don't know.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
I just think in terms of how the fan bases
are feeling. West Coast fans. Again, I know they lost
Boy fifty, but there were players, there were plays. There
there was and players that you can be happy about.

Speaker 1 (45:20):
And I say one thing on them, lose My fifty.
They probably should have lost by about eighty. You reckon
you guys kicked seven goals twelve, that's true, and you
missed a few easy ones and that was the few
skill errors I reckon.

Speaker 5 (45:31):
True, you could have won by like a lot more.
But what I will say is kept in it. They
kept in it.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Yeah, there were a few players and I really liked. Again,
didn't light up the statute, but Gimby eleven disposal, gimby Jimmy,
Gimby Jimmy, Jimmy, Yeah, Jimmy. I think I have a
gym and Tonic. Yeah, Jimmy and Jimmy and Tonic. She
just provided some dash off half back.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
Yeah, I still think it's been played out of position.

Speaker 4 (45:55):
I agree. I think if he plays more half back
than key position, then go for your life.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
He's a very good tackle as well. He is ferocious.
So how did the pencil go?

Speaker 4 (46:05):
Pencil pencil up?

Speaker 3 (46:09):
Twenty four disposals, not many marks or tackles. He's more
of an outside now, inside player. But you don't know football.
Where is he watched him? Is he going to turn
from a pencil into a pen this year?

Speaker 5 (46:20):
Is going to be this year?

Speaker 3 (46:23):
That's a great and that's very couch is ready to be.
He's cooking here. We are joint together. Give it a
couple more years.

Speaker 4 (46:34):
I think he's more of an inside player now, but
you'll keep his spot.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
Yeah, we talked about West Coast fans, Hawthorne fans. Look
you're in the top. We won by fifty.

Speaker 4 (46:42):
But I'm still a bit worried. I don't.

Speaker 5 (46:46):
I think something's missing.

Speaker 3 (46:47):
Something's missing, and I think we play a very high
risk game and we miss one kick and it's over
to be cool.

Speaker 4 (46:54):
So I don't. I just I need to see more.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
You got you got another one of the similar sort
of game coming up as well. You'd have Richard.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
I'm actually worried for that one.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
They've got Richmond.

Speaker 4 (47:06):
I'll speak to you next Sunday about it.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
He's getting a bit get emotional, getting emotional over there
all right, that's the around seven results. Let's get into
the tipping results lads. Like I said before, this is
a little bit better than last week. I think I've
got to last week my worst ever performance. I've ended
up with six and Leo's ended up with six, ended
up with seven.

Speaker 5 (47:23):
Marcus. I went with the Crows. I went for the
hear me out segment, which will be back again on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (47:28):
What did I?

Speaker 5 (47:30):
Will we let it buck? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (47:32):
Well I will?

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Well?

Speaker 5 (47:34):
What did you miss out on?

Speaker 1 (47:35):
Leo?

Speaker 5 (47:35):
I missing on the cross?

Speaker 3 (47:36):
I tip Richmond in this, but I tip I tip
Melbourne in other comps? Yep, why did you tip Richmond?
I believe, mate, I believe?

Speaker 5 (47:44):
All right, there we go, all right, big core results.
I don't know why Cadman four flass he ended up
with one, so that's a big stinker by me. Leo
Dekos was really good.

Speaker 4 (47:55):
I was the closest.

Speaker 5 (47:56):
Ned Long was also pretty solid, So you were the closest.
Probably Ark has said.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
That was pretty close.

Speaker 5 (48:05):
He put up a strong fight against he matches.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
It was serviceable he did.

Speaker 5 (48:10):
I don't think he was robbed with the metal.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
Is that what was saying?

Speaker 3 (48:12):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Absolutely in front of me.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
All right, best on grounded the week. We've got a
few different way we're going to do this. We're going
to go three to one layer, so best on grounded.
This is across all the games, best players. Could you
give us the three two one We'll go.

Speaker 4 (48:27):
First.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
Yeah, he's the best, but I'll start with one one yep,
one vote James Harms and giving it to.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
Really you read it out like that. One vote from
the Western Bulldogs.

Speaker 5 (48:36):
J you want to get Nerdy four goals, twenty three disposals.

Speaker 4 (48:41):
Looks like a pig, acts like a horse.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
We love him. His nickname is not pig. I think it's.

Speaker 4 (48:48):
I did a pig noise for I think it's horse
because I think he has horse teeth. I don't know,
but he gets one boat.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
I just realized his nickname is horse.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
I got the animals.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
In need.

Speaker 4 (49:04):
Yeah. Two votes votes Max Gorn, Yes, we already touched
on twenty.

Speaker 3 (49:09):
Five disposals, thirty four hit outs, thirty four hit outs,
twelve score involvements.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
But the three votes of the weekend go to Locky Neil.

Speaker 5 (49:18):
He was going to do.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
Well. We really didn't plan this out. He was awesome everywhere.
Runner doesn't matter if you have bad tattoos. According to
these two thirty one disposals, three gals, twelve score involvements.

Speaker 4 (49:29):
How good.

Speaker 5 (49:30):
Yeah, he was unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
He's definitely the best on if you see this, Locky
Neil come down to Melbourne, will give your award?

Speaker 5 (49:37):
What are we going to give him?

Speaker 3 (49:38):
What?

Speaker 4 (49:40):
There we go?

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Honorable mention not of still a side Bottom said career
high fifteen clearances.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
But on the middle.

Speaker 5 (49:46):
I think Locky Neil was was the best this week,
the best team of the round.

Speaker 4 (49:50):
Marcus is going to do this one same format three
to one.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
They one the post you're going to do See Magpies one,
see makepos will mate two votes see Blues against the Cats.

Speaker 4 (50:08):
I like good w Bulldog W Dogs W Dog the
w Dogs.

Speaker 5 (50:17):
Dogs give us a bar. Why why are the best
team of around Marcus?

Speaker 3 (50:21):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (50:22):
Just because they gotta win, you know, they've got to
win in they got to win in good fashion against
the side that's going to be contenders. Yes, and uh
yeah and Stas just can't cop any hints, Caken you,
so we'll just let himself with the consequences.

Speaker 5 (50:36):

That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
