Speaker 2 (00:15):
I'm feeling happy. Me and my awesome phone are going
along really nicely. For those who don't know, my phone
is in tip top shape right now.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
No one cares about that. I wanted something actually interest
out here. Please Marcus Marcus Barzan who is actually on
the catch as well.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I've got a working phone, so that's all right. Yeah,
I'm definitely a lot happier than Leo at.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
The moment there. I just said I was happy. Yeah,
both what he said. He's happier.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
That great start. It's great fans on the couch over
and I hope that improves. We've got another awesome show
as always, the matchups, tips, stats, debates, big calls.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
As we always get into, and also some locks.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
We haven't done that for a while, so locks for
the weekend, which we're very keen to get into, and
just everything in between. We've got so many stats, so
much to cover. We're going to cover a lot of
games each. Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel
that's AFL Today, show the subscribers. I don't know if
he actually has it up, but we've had a bit
of time to prepare for this one, Marcus, if you
had it up, oh, Leo's got up the subscribers, please, sir.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Seven thousand and eighty seven, seven eighty seven, all right,
what's our what's our goal by at the end of
the end of the week?
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Seven one hundred all right? Seven point two, seven point
seven point yeah, why not? So yeah, make sure you
hit the ball. Gives you the notification goes a long
way for us as well. Follow AFL Today AU across

(01:33):
R questions. If you get in the comments, you can
win some beers, some merch and things like that. Lea
will be Chuck shirt potentially a FILD Today ship to
give away.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
And I have just solved that. That's right, yeah, if
your a sized medium then I hit us up. That's
exactly right.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
And of course you can get us get around us
on all the podcast platforms. All right, let's not fuss around.
Let's let's just get right into it round at nine
previews Thursday nights, let's do it the big one. Who's
playing Thursday? And where's it at stats? Everything in between?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
It please Mars, this one is going to be huge,
a huge Thursday Night Freeman versus Collingwood if you don't know,
and Living under a Rock Thursday Night at eight ten
Australian needs to stand the time at Opta Stadium and look,
both clubs will be desperate returned back to winning ways,
obviously for different reasons because Freeman, you know, obviously we're
(02:21):
really put against Saint Kilda their seventh lowest score in
the club's history. And then Collingwood a heartbreaking loss after
this iron with the main man Jack Crisp missing his
set short.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
But the Pies have.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Got a lot of outs they've managed this week.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
They've got a few on the management the few on
the managed list.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
There's a few few of the older boys going out Maynard,
my Check, Pendles and Degoye all confirmed by Craig McCrae
will not feature on Thursday Night.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
I'd say other than de Goie, there's three like because
Dey has not done much at all since he's come
back from injuries and things like that. Three guys have
been doing really well. Like Pendal's is still good. He's
going to play another season. My check was very influential
late last week. It was unbelievable. He's kicking snags. Maynard,
He's actually he's always is the what would I call him?
He's the team barometer. That's what I was trying to say.
(03:14):
I reckon he's a bit of their barometer. And the
fans get up and about. So there's a massive.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Out disrespectful to Frio. Oh that's a great question. Yes,
he actually it is. I think it is because like
you're resting all these players.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
I know it's a five day break, but I understand
why Craig mccrane the pis are doing it.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
But it is a bit disrespectful these out It's gonna
going to influence your tip.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Do you think that's boiler alert? Probably not?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Probably not either yet probably not yees, I don't think so.
In terms of the coach, we talked about Craig McCrae.
You've got a bit of thoughts about Longmoa.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
This is a huge test for Justin longmo Yeah, the.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Safe, pland vanilla loving man that lives over in wa.
We've got a Thursday night home game against the premiership favorite.
It's one of the best teams in the competition right
right now. When your team is what four and four,
you can't win away. I know it's at home, but
you can't win away. You're putting seven points in a
half last week against Saint Kilda who are middle of
(04:11):
the road, thirty three points for the game. This is
a massive test to show his fans at home he
is the real deal and he's.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Got a bit of chocolate about him, not vanilla. Oh jezu.
He's got the dad jokes out. It's not even a
dad joke. It's going to upgrade. Oh now you're better.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I want a better one of that as the show
because I mean cook. Yeah, I'll let you cook.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
It's probably not going to be in this game, but
they do need to improve their percentage. It's ninety seven
and everyone above them is on at least. The lowest
is GBS with one fifteen also four and four, so
they missed a trick of getting into the eight possibly
against Saint Kilda with a percentage brucet. So they desperately
need the four points.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, obviously the piles are flying, They're still right up
the top. But do we think that Bobby Hill, Jamie Ali,
Jamie Ali's had a pretty solid season.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Bobby Hill's been so up and down. So they need
to kick a few goals for Colin to actually hit
kick good scorer. Yeah, well, I think we're highlighting on
the small forwards.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
But with my checkout because still they've still got Tim
Membry True dem Day up there like the stays injured
mix Days injured. Sorry, but they can still do a job.
But Memory he's been really one of the He's quietly
been one of the better recruits of the season.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Yeah, yeah, I think we have playing as well perfectly.
He really has. He's been He's been awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
The other one obviously Freo. A lot of us talked
up there at the start of this season.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
They do they need to win this game to sort
of get some confidence back, because when you say the
seventh worst score in their history, you can't do that
and then lose, like they need to win this game,
especially with the colling went out. Would we say that
they need to put on a show for their fans.
I know they're poor fans. The fans are like, we're
going to have be top four, everyone's top six.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
They can't hide away from poor result anymore. Like it's
Thursday night, prime time footy. You're kicking off the weekend,
the weekend of footy, and look, they can't hide.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
They need to win. Yep, yeah, they're fans. I think
would be very nervous. I think they will be the
Pies as well.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
They've undefeated in four of their last five away matches
against Freo, so they love playing over there at Optics Stadium,
and their last meeting was actually a crazy draw where
Frio kicked twenty five points in.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
The last quarter, which Frio have not done for I
think since then. That was like low scoring too.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Yeah, seventy five each, yes, seventy five each and that. Yeah,
but they just came back. So I don't think it'll
be that close. What do you guys think, tips and
margin if you want to get.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Into that, well, I think it's going to be very close. Actually,
perhaps not. The draw.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
But I do think Frio at home with these calling
with changes might be enough and with prime time to
spur them on and get them excited and gat up
for a victory.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
So I'm going to go free mean two goals, two goals.
I think Pies by two goals to go to Marcus.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I just think the Outs aren't a big I know
they're big names, but Craig McCrae will be instilling system
into this team. And it's the old mentality. When one
soldier goes out, you get replaced by another one.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Oh look at that's that actually sounded a good. That
actually sounded good. But pendals as a war veteran, you
can't just chuck in.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
A you know what I mean looking I know, like
it's obviously not going to be the same standard of player.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
But you're looking for someone to come in and play
the role that you want the Blade to play.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
I mean, yeah, there's still got plenty of experience in
that side, the likes of slide Bottom.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
I cannot believe your tip and fre that is I
didn't actually touch.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
I wonder who you're tipping.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
I'm tipping the Pies by twenty two points. I think
I don't mind it, Like I don't think the go
is a big out. Maynard's not a massive outlay. Pendles
and might check obviously big outs, so but the rest
of their team will just step up. I think they
will win this pretty comfortably twenty points, and they'll just
fly in the last quarter because after three quint a time,
Freer usually drop off.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Yeah, fair ket.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Next one Friday Night Footy Leo. One of your teams
that you love and one of them that you might
not love. But who who's playing Friday night?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Please thank you to Carlton Friday seven forty at the MCG.
This is, of course Spud's game. Yes, this is going
to be in the lead atmosphere. Saint Killed obviously requests
the game at the G, and I think Carlton, Like,
I know a lot of people are going, why do
they request Carlton? But I think it's just going to
add to an awesome atmosphere, great environment, great occasion sides game.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Yeah, it'd be it'll be great to see.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
We need a few like ear massages, so the punches
into the ear, the key defender.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Do we all have to yell out? What do they
say when they're golds not just bang, bang bang.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Every time there's someone does a golden fist, I'm expecting
to see it at least a minimum of three spoils
that go into the crowd and.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Are we cheering them? Will be? Are we cheering the
players when they spoil into the market? Yeah? Why not?
If they like this every game? The double handed fist?
Yeah no, no, you gotta market for this one.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
For me with the Saints, can they do it twice
in a row? Like two incredibly insipid weeks against the
Dogs and the Lions were awesome against Freo, like absolutely exceptional,
But it's a it's a step up in my opinion,
from Freo at home at Marvel to Carlton at the MCG.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
So can they handle that challenge?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
And we mentioned, you know, the spoiling and the Bachman
getting involved. Saint Kildare's back line last week exceptional. We
already touched on Freo seven points and a half. That's insipid.
But also credit to you know, Cal Wilke's been superb. No,
you don't like him, but Jimmy Webster does play a
good He's been pretty good.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Can play lockdown free men.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Will arguably have two of the best toall forward combos
in the competition, and they managed to keep Tracy goalers
and yeah, I miss I think.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Kick too, which is exactly what you need to do
against obviously, so hopefully for Saints fans they can.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
So that back line did bounce back after two poor weeks,
and it was kind of the opposite for Carlton's defense,
wasn't it, Marcuts.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Yeah, look, there's a there's a bit of a stat here.
So Carlton have conceded one hundred points just once this season.
That came last week again the Crows, where you know,
we all thought that it wasn't a problem. And Saint
Kildo have only scored one hundred plus points once this season,
which came in there demolishing against Richmond at Marvel Stadium.
So on the MCG, I'm expecting a low score here.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
I think Carlton are still third top four for defense,
and then the Saints wouldn't be that far behind as well.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Do we think, Yeah, we think this is going to be.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
The old school slog, the old russ Lions slog of
a game, or.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Because it's the mcg's open could be sixty seventy. I'm
not sure what the weather's like on Friday actually gonna
have a pretty look. But either way, I do think
it's going to be low scoring.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
The games that Saints were insipid in they got demolished
in the clearances and unfortunately for them, that is Carlton's strength.
But we did see a massive like bounce back in
that aspect last weekend against Free where you know Jack
McCrae is winning every clearance. You've got wind Hager playing
in the gating role, you know steals in there as well.
So that for me is where we'll see if it's
(10:58):
high scoring or not, if Carlton get on top of clearance.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
It's a buddy tough one to pick, which we'll get
into in a sec. But I've got a staff for
your lads. This is hear me out. I've had a
bit of a hear me out segment last week, just
just a little hear me out on Carlton and why
I'm going to choose my tip later. Carlton's last seven wins.
Here we go their last seven wins two against North Melbourne,
two against West Coast, one against Richmond all bottom three teams,
(11:23):
and two against Gelong Geelong.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
Those two.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Cats Fan you'd be fuming because they literally in the
last I think it's fifteen or so games, can't beat
anyone else other than the bottom three and Geelong.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
It's really weird. I remember it was it like July last.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Year where they're up fifty one to thirteen against GWS
at quarter time. They lose that game and they go
on to have this kind of record.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, it's a tough one because at their best they're
a bloody good team. They they're just both these teams
don't always bring that.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, they're going to look for a little bit of
revenge as well, I think because obviously the last round
of last season was Jack Higans who will them ount
of finals?
Speaker 4 (11:58):
That's in the last thirty second.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
They were run in the AFL was barracking for the
same game, which might be the same here.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
But Freeman couldn't get the job done. No, that's right,
I forgot about that. I should getting to the tips.
You're pretty much already no mind, do you say you
hear me out? Yeah? Okay, I said, are you all right?
Speaker 1 (12:13):
No?
Speaker 4 (12:13):
No, but like, did you actually end it? Yeah? I
just said that. Carldon.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Last even wins have been against some average teams. Okay, so,
and so I might as well get into my tip,
which is the Saints by I'll say about ten points.
Ten points, which I cannot believe I'm.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
To being the Saints. I think they're so inconsistent.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
But at the MCG, I don't mind a bit of
NASA running running down half back Jack sinclear.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
I think their running style game of half back is
suited to the MCG. They all average.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I think nas average is about twenty three touches there,
which is pretty solid. And yet got a goal last
game as well. So I don't mind the Saints in
this one. And that's a bit bit might hear me
out because the Blues are just not performing against the
better teams. Yeah, fair enough, I'm going to agree with you.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
But you always dip the Saint.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
No, no, no, there's always logic Saints by seven points
because they're just they're the team.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
They're it, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Nah, If we want actual fact and actual reasoning, actual fact, Carlton,
I think their strength is the clearance stuff and Saints
is the endurance, the hard running, and I think that might.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Be suited to the G a little bit more butteresting.
There you go, Marcus.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
I'm going to go with the Blues here just about.
I think it's gonna be nail By. I'm gonna go
three points. Wins back on the winners list.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
As a classic Carlton win the last couple of seasons
where they're all just sweating for the very last.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Kick in the whole game. Absolutely get the revenge.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
There we go there and Jack Kickinson just to watch
on him. He's going to kick it. Ai Fu snacks
as well. He's been so good, so mister consistent at
the moment. All right, Saturday, this one's my game. Melbourne
verse Hawthorne at Saturday one twenty at the MCG. This
is got some interesting stats here, but we'll touch on
some possible inns that Leo and I were talking about
before the show started. So Calsha, he's ready. Do we
(13:49):
think he'll he'll be in the team leader. You're a
Hawks man.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
I would like to see him play. Yet. You said
he's had a game and a half in the VFO.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, I played half and then full game last week.
Maybe he starts the game and his subbed out.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yeah, I don't mind. It's an option. I think you
should play. I think there's a lot of guys that
moving the magnet.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Sisley's gone up there, a few other guys have been
down for down back. Deer is a big foward that
you just need right now. I think, just to just
to take you to that next level. Is such a
beast you've got. Calaim On is a test. Scrimshaw apparently
won't play, so he's been ruled out already, so at
least we can see that with filming this on the
Weds that we can see that already. The other one
for Melbourne on the other side is Clary. He's potentially
(14:27):
back in the side. Ye. Look, he hasn't had the
best season, but I think he's obviously a gun midfield
that can still get him clearances. Do you think that's
a massive end if he comes back in or is
he just he's underperforming still.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
A little bit? No.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
I think I think he's had a great a great
start to the year considering your expectations of him based
off previous seasons, I think he's fairly good and it
also helps the It takes the pressure off Gorne Petraca
Viney in the middle, even though they were excellent last week.
(14:59):
But yeah, I think Clary, I think Clary is a
begin and if they are going to win this game,
he's going to be a big reason why they do.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Yeah, fair enough, This one is not a stat for
the Hawks fans. Sorry to say this, but I couldn't
believe when I was reading this. I think Leo might
actually know this one. The Hawks haven't been in Melbourne
since twenty eighteen, and two of the last three meetings
they lost by forty five plus points. That one really
surprised me. Twenty eighteen. Obviously the Hawks have been up
and down. They're only down the bottom the ladder for
(15:26):
very short periods. But twenty eight What's what's going on there?
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Mate? I don't know. This needs to be something going on.
I don't know. Back somehow, it's sort of like a bit.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Like Hawthorne Carlton I think as well, Like up until
this season Hawthorn didn't have a great record against the Blues.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Well, now you know how Leam feels against pretty much
every opponent in the competition.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
No, what's bad?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Well, I feel like it's a bit different, like this
is a this is a weirder occurrence.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
It's one of those just weird matchups. That's the bog team. Yeah,
that's it.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
That's the world's bogey team. There we go. Oh really,
that's not that's not ideal. I'm not even going to
scray because I know you're joking. What else you've got it? First, leader,
you're a hawks man? Anything else that you reckon?
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Well? Do we want to have a bit of a
chat about James Cicily.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
I'm happy to because even that I'm not a hawksman,
I'm frustrated with him.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Can he just kick the ball normally? Please? So there's
a bit of chat.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Should he be dropped? I okay, I might be biased,
but I don't think he should be dropped. He's the
captain of the club. I think he still leads well.
I think he's obviously drastically out of form. He actually
put out an Instagram post sort of saying how grateful
he was to captain the club, and in brackets he
put the kicking boots are not far away, So he
(16:36):
knows he's out of form. I just think he needs
to simplify it. He just needs to, even if it's
just down the line for a bit, build your kicking up.
And I actually think it's a crucial game for him
this week because Hawthorne have a very tough month after
this game. Use this D's game to get himself.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Right, because he just needs to stop kicking around corners
and worry about it too much.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Ever since that Easter Monday game, wasn't it really? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (16:57):
He went Sam Palp but did something to him. He
went at twenty three percent in the Easter Monday game,
gave away five three kicks and a handful of turnovers
as well which a couple of two goals.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
He's a big, big game player. I reckon he might
bounce back.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Let's get into the tips and margins lads this. I
feel like we're going to go the same way Marcus,
who he gone?
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Yeah, Hawthorne. I think it's pretty obvious. I'll go a
cruisy five goal win.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yeah, I think five or six goals.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to go. I'm going to go
by about fifteen points.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
I think Lema likes.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
I was going to say, I don't know why Harrison
petties on my mind he could keep going goals, but
I don't. I don't actually think that's gonna happen. But
Cozy Pickets in unbelievable. Yeah, yeah, I think he could
keep it closer at the mcg and things like that
he loves playing there so and a random stat for
you to finish off. Hawthorne have won their last eight
matches after beating Richmond the week before.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
You prefaced this before the show as it was really funny.
I didn't say really funny. I just said let us
know in the comments. And you're laughing at that one.
It's just a weird one. It is a weird one,
Just a weird one, all right. Next game Saturday, Avo Leo.
Who we got.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
We've got essen Un versus Sydney Saturday four point fifteen
at Marvel Stadium. Now, the first thing I want to
touch on with this game is James Jordan going to
Zach Merritt. I think it'll happen where he was obviously
very successful against Lockey Neil, very unsuccessful against Nick Dakos.
I think Zach Merritt is one of those players with
(18:21):
a bit more speed. He can probably burst away from Jordan,
especially in general play. But I think there needs to
be a few other Bombers players to fire up. We've
got Cord Well possibly back, is that correct? Cord Wi
will be back this week. And you just touched on
Jordan being on Merrit.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
One thing that Merrit does do when he starts getting tagged,
and one thing the Bombers have done is straight away
we don't even hesitate. We put them up in the
forward line. See if you can have an impact there.
So it's whether Jordan still follows him into the forward
line or he goes to a Durham or a Cordwell
in the middle.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
I feel like you have Sorry, Sydney will have matchups
in their back line for that probably won't follow Himyeah.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
We shown me can hit the school board this season
and he's doing a lot better of that. So and
he's one of the best kicks in the competition, so
if he gets a chance, he will likely convert yep.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
Yeah for sure.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
And on the flip side, since signing his contract, Chad
Warner has been in awesome form. It was best on
ground last week.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
He didn't even know he was best on ground? Did
you see that?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Like he was looking taking his boots off and he's
like me, may you killed it?
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Like he had a really good first off. But it
was just a funny, funny thing. It would just be
interesting to see how the Bombers negate that.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
I think Durham has a big role to sort of
crash and bash a bit, show a bit of grunt
and try and stop his speed from getting to the outside.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
So warners just wanted to watch for me in this one.
I don't mind that at all, don't mind it.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
What about we got another rivalry gaming? Obviously, Alex is
usually on the show. I don't know if he's not
around the office, so usually we go head to head
on the bets. He doesn't know about this one. We
went head to head last week, Marcus.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
We went head to head and look, I got the thrill.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
I got the thrill of the nail board in three
point wind you doing the chicken. The hot chicken still
fell on the effects of that which check out our socials.
The clip of stat Skuy doing the punishment will be
out today, so keep an eye that. Very funny, by
the way, very funny.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
We actually might do a little bit of a snippet
right now.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
I hate it none like you're making me do things
like this. I don't think it's that. I can't nah,
I'm not taking a busy here. This is I won't
swear well.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Alex has just been a big woos this weekend. He
doesn't want to do the punishment. Even though he doesn't
want to, would admit it. So we're gonna do the
punishment with True Bloods. One of the best pods going
around the Sydney the Sydney Focus Pod, so check them
out if you haven't already. We'll have a little graphic
for you for their pod, so you can go check
(20:53):
that out. But let us know what the punishment should
be between us. We're thinking face paint, possibly on the
next week, but I'm still feeling the effects of the
bloody wings. Just skip out the show. You guys might
have did the rest of the show, but if you
have any other ideas, let us know in the comments, please,
because we're down for anything anything fun.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Yeah, I love it, love it all. Right, let's go
into the tips Margins. We'll start off with you, Marcus.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Are you actually going to back up your bet against
the True Bloods boys?
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Of course, Well, I've got to go to the Dons. No,
you can't. We've got to go to the Dons.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
I think we have a better twenty thirty percent chance
of winning, and that means I've got to go with
that with the underdogs, don't everyone underdoor?
Speaker 4 (21:33):
We go to the casino with this man. Thirty percent
winning on this.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
That's that's what's that's why are you even sweeter when
you get the win? So I'm going to go the Bombers.
It's going to be a close game. It normally is
between these, So I don't want to go to ten points.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Oh my god, yeah, I just I have to tip Sydney.
I just was not convinced by Essendon last week in
their win.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
I hate Sydney as well, so I'm going to go.
There's a bit of a rivalry there. There's a bit
of rivalry.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
I'm going to go to these by fifteen points. I
think it could be pretty close. But this one have
like one that seven of their last eight at Marvel Stadium,
which really surprised me.
Speaker 4 (22:06):
As well.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
They're really solid in Melbourne, so uh, unless's Grand Final Day,
but other than that, they're pretty good. All right, next
game here we go, Saturday night. I reckon this is
the biggest game of the weekend from my personal opinion, Marcus.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Who we got? I think it is okay?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Yeah, but it probably would be the Gold Coast Suns
versus the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
And we're heading to Darwin. We're going to Too Stadium are
Oh yeah, yeah, let's go. Anyone anyone want to send
us a done. I've been there. It is beautiful. I
was going to say I had a crocodile burger. Did
you go to Teo Stadium? No, it wasn't in footy season.
It was beautiful with some crocs. Yuck.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
It looks like it looks like they chunked about half
a few leg size out because you're pretty short, mate.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
It's worse than anything Gold Coast.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
We talk about Gold Coast record on Darwin in Darwin
because it's pretty impressive. They won the last six at Too,
but they did lose their first two at that stadium,
and one of which was against the Western Bulldogs. Was
that though when they introduced them, when they started a
getting Gold Coast getting dull on games.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
No, that I reckon.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
That would have been the Dogs home game back then
because the Dogs used to have home games play there
too at Tierra Stadium and back in the day. Yeah,
but the Suns, they did fail the Brizzy test last week.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
There was probably their biggest test of the season so far.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
But this is arguably as big coming against one of
the most inform teams in the competition, absolutely in the Dogs.
So I think this could be an absolute shootout because
the last four at too have gone well over flashback
to Gold Coast Gelong where it was one hundred and sixty.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
To one hundred.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
That was what like the fact that that happens when
it's so dewy, like, Yeah, you wouldn't think that there
was a.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Northward where you played up there.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
They were practicing with like dish soap and like apparently
gold Coast like really trained the greasing conditions and it
shows because they play so well there and only the.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
Dogs are in a rich vein of scoring film as well.
They've they've kicked one hundred plus the last three weeks
and both sides are in the top five for points
score this season.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah, you mentioned a bit earlier. The Dogs are in
probably the best form they have been in a while.
But I think this is a massive test for their
young feedbacks. Yeah, I agree, Bustling. If he plays, he's
got a big, big role to play. If he's sub
or whatever O'Donnell. Another test for him, does he take
Ben King? If not, does he take Ben Long even
though he's oversized Cayden Cleary another one who's been buying
(24:30):
under the Raider.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Another test for him. Lobb's got to play back for mine.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
So just it's a little bit of a watch for
me and it might spoiler alert influence my tip.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Oh truly. There you go. Another guy we've talked about.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Just so many Sons players lift up on Upper Darwin
that we're missing. Jack Lakosius, who was averaging i think
three goals a game up there, but obviously doesn't play
with him anymore. But a guy who dominated. Last name
was last time. Last name last time was Bailey Humphrey.
He had five goals, sixteen disposals and he averages two
goals there. That was against Gelong. Geelong we're third and
the ladder at the time, and they absolutely smoked them
(25:04):
by sixty seven points or something like that. They're just
a different breed up there. They should just change to.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
The Darwin Sons and they'd win. The Flat Sons, yeah,
play the Grand Final up there or the Darwin Cross Crooks, Yeah,
the Crocs should be. There's actually just the Northern Territory.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
There is an AFL team in the world that are
called the Crocs. Berlin crocodiles.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
There you go the Berlin. The Berlin have an AFL
to AFL Europe World something. Yeah. Anyway, let's get into
the tips and margin lads.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
This is, I reckon a really tough one. The Sons
are actually the underdogs even though they have that really
good surprises me. They have that really good record in Darwin.
But the Dogs are in better form. That's probably why
they're the underdogs.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Yeah. I just can't tip against the Suns in Darwin.
So what do you what's your tip? By? How much?
Suns by twenty two? Twenty two?
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Yeah, I'm going to go to the complete opposite. I'm
going to go dogged by twenty two. Whoa big call
in a high scoring match.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
They are playing better. If Dogs win there they are
flag favorites.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Wait, La, you do not understand this is a This
is like one of the toughest games in football, going
up to Darwin against the Suns and beating them there.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
If you do that, you're.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
In top two, top three for mine.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Extremely tough task.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I don't know about Premiership favorites, but I agree they
could make top four with that confidence from that win.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Should they be should they feature in flag hunting and
Alexis powering. Yes, they didn't feature in flag hunting.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
We'll check that out on the socials on Tuesdays. So
I believe at the moment that correct. We might get
it to Sunday's but late game. Yeah game, that's right.
So I'm going to go suns by fifteen again Darwin.
Just so many players lift and Bailey Humphrey will have
a bag. I reckon, you'll kick another bag free hump.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Yeah. We going to the next game. What the hell
is that? All right? Next game? The showdown, lads. This
is the biggest game. What a game? This is what
a game? No, in terms of like we're pot later,
but in terms.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Of the rivalry, which we'll touch on Port Adelaide versus
Adelaide at the Adelade over of course eight ten Australian
easton standard time? Does form matter in the showdown?
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Lads?
Speaker 1 (27:02):
That's the big questionnaire. Negative negative, absolutely not.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Adelat It have been underdogs on more than plenty occasions.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
I've got a start on that in recent years, and
they've won one of those games. So's the stats.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
They won three of the last four showdouts, and in
all three of their wins they've been underdogs. Well interesting
now poor of the under now port of the underdogs,
and maybe they might get a win the other there's
two big questions. I said, there's four matter. You said no,
because this is just they lift it sort of like
Anzac Day. We always talk about Anzac Day that both.
I feel like every derby doesn't really matter, you know,
Q clash, there's a few derby doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Sorry, yes, sorry, yeah, the lines okay, I'm calling with
form doesn't necessarily matter that much either.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Yeah. So is this the best rivalry in the game? Lads?
Speaker 1 (27:48):
I genuinely believe that they both hate each other. You've
got rank and Jason Offenich is going to be going
head to head just so many years.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
You've got Jordan.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Dawson are kicking that go after the sign where it
looked like I was going out in the FA and
just right through the goals in life. They've just get
so many good moments, so many goals of the year,
Marketer of the year I think have been in these games.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
What do you think this is my best river in
the game. I don't know if you guys agree with that.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
There, Well, I think I got convinced a little bit
yesterday that these two teams genuinely hate each other. I
feel like maybe like Carlton and Collingwood, like there's obviously dislike,
but after the game they're a bit more.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Civil eventually, So I think I might agree with the
stats going really yeah okay.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
And like genuinely like with I have a South Australian
background and just that explains a lot. Well, we love
South Australia.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Just knowing what I know, even like the areas just
spied each other as well, like like Adelaide, like out
of city in a city sort of folk and then
obviously put Adelaide's is a little bit further out. True, Yeah,
they don't like each other, So for me this would
be top Carlton Collingwood just behind.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
What's what's else?
Speaker 1 (28:53):
What? I still think Jennivers Dogs is up there, okay,
home just seeds some donuts.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Who knows, maybe maybe the Geelong Bulldogs sneak up there
coming around elevens.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
What about Hawthorne Richmond Richmond in the past anyway, Hawthorne.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Good ones, Yeah, good chat boys.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
We hate each other, mar Because you wanted to touch
on the midfields, the depth, the stars. There's a lot
of midfield, Like everyone were watching the midfield this week.
You got Butters, you got Whole Francis, You've got so
many awesome players.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Yeah, I think Port Adelaide though they rely on those
stars to lift them games. So like you just mentioned Butters,
Rosie Horn Frances whereas on the other side of the
Coin Adelaide it's more about their midfield depth and their play.
So you've got Neil Bullen, Isaac Cumming, crowd Sligo, Desk Celigo. Yeah,
(29:50):
Patling was really really good last week, Ana's Carlton as well.
We got a stack of the footy, but one person
to look out for in particular is the horny one,
Jason Jason Horn Francis. I think he's going to continue
his good form because he plays his best footy when
he loses his head a little bit, does he? Though
he played really well against North Melbourne when he probably
(30:13):
lost his head, he had about twenty seven and a goal.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
He played well.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Against Hahrorn as well, and he doesn't need any inkling
to know how big this rivalry is as a South
Australian boy, so I think he could have another twenty
five plus two goal.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Game two goals that is that is huge.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
All right, we've gone through off there, TIMPs and margin
lads for the big showdown.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
What do we think, Leo? It's a tough one. Adelaide
win within ten points.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Oh marcus, I'm gonna go Adelaide as well.
Speaker 4 (30:47):
I'll go Adelaide by twenty four points. Four. Yeah, I
think their four line will really far.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
I still don't like one hundred percent rate pot Adelaide's
back one tall.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Back line in particular, love when they don't have earlier
as the interceptor.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Yeah, Inuredlid have.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Four of the top fifteen goal kickers in the comp
like they're still flying on offense. They showed that last
week against the Blues that even the blues third best
defense couldn't stop them, and I think the Blues are
a lot better defense.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
I'm going to go Adelaide by three goals.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
It will still be pretty close because of the midfields,
because of the showdown, but then they'll kick away at
the American. Yeah, I love we go all right Sunday, Leo,
what is it Sunday Funday?
Speaker 4 (31:24):
You always call it Sunday Sunday. This is the game
of the round, this one, Oh my god, have games
to the round. We got Richmond v.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
West Coast Sunday one ten at the mcgo. Let's just
get it off the bat. I think Richmond have avoided
the spoon with a win here. Oh for sure, we
will avoid the spoon. West Coast are looking likely to
win the spoon. So it's just crazy how one off
season Richmond is catapult.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Above West Coast. Oh yeah, that's true. But we've got
Graham and Baker against their old side. Maybe a bit
of biff early on one.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
If there's a few booze from Richmond fans, that'll be
interesting thing.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
So I think they got that they love Baker love
they boot really though, didn't they when when he came down.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
Maybe they'll just bill Marvel Stadium. Yeah, yeah, they do
hate Marvel Stadium.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
That was good true anyway, No, McGovern we believe for
West Coast he's concussed. So this is one big game
coming up for Tom Lynch. Can he actually just kick accurately?
Speaker 4 (32:18):
I really want him to. Will he who? What?
Speaker 1 (32:21):
Will?
Speaker 4 (32:21):
What? Will be more his behind or Jake Waterman goals?
Oh that's a good question. I actually think he's behind
Tom Lynch, missus, Tom Lynch misses. I think points out
on the falls. Yeah, I think he'll do it Tom,
just because actually I just had to look.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Jake Waterman has only kicked eight goals in his ten
games at the MCG, so he struggles at the MCG.
I genuinely think he might kick more Vie. But I
think Tom Lynche could still kick a few here, because yeah,
he'll keep like three goals. He's playing better than his
suggest Can I say that because he's.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
He's going to get goals though he's gonna kick goal
that's his role is the key ball.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
He's not blaying that well, there's a lot less pressure
in this one. I reckon he will kick a few. Yeah.
And I think another sort of talking point with this one.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Is the green shoots, So who are we going to
see sort of improve and just sprout like a flower
in the Sun's funny.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
I think this is a game where we actually start
taking Seth Campbell, possibly a little bit seriously.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Already take him seriously.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
It's one of one of the fastest part in the comp,
the best salad, one of the best celebrators in the comp.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
He does flips, he does he's got he's really like,
he's got good footy, I Q as well, like as
a small forward.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
I think he's really good and there's a few for
West Coast as Marrick's having a breakout season.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
But there's two big ones in this one, Marcus, that's
going head to head. Yeah, Okay, I'm going to.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Pose this question to you boys. Here we go, if
you could sign one player right now out of Seamore
and Harley reed.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
For a bond sponsorship.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Nor were already know? We already know the same Way's
got that covered. Sorry, but yeah, who are you picking at.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
The club for the rest of you here, Harley or
loving Harley?
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Laula has a better head on his shoulders? Can I
say that? How do we know?
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Because he hasn't done anything to overreact like Read does
every single week, and.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
That's both got pretty big heads. Yeah does that? Does
that get into it?
Speaker 1 (34:16):
I think that both afl ready is in like the build,
but we haven't seen enough from Sammy Law yet. Maybe
in the future. Have we seen enough from Harley not? Yes,
compared to Laula? Yes, So I will go Hory Read
as well. So what do you go on, Marcus? Considering
we're heavily linked to Harley Reid, Harley read.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Oh I felt today?
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Is he going to be our host? All right, let's
get into tips and margin. That's we're going lawla Us
Harley Reid. What do you think the stat line? Actually,
while don't, let's not talk about that because that's my
big call.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
Okay, to see that you've read the run sheet a
bit of surprise. That'd be nice, that'd be nice. I'll
get it later.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
All right, tips, margin, Marcus going on Richmond just home
in fact of the MCG proves too much, and they've
been playing some shown more positive signs in West Coast
this season, So I go, I'll.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Go to the Tigs by four goals. Yep, Tigers buy
a goal. Let's be a close one. I think.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
I think Tigers buy three goals. I've said about that
for most teams. But three goals, I think they're pressure.
They've been teams in the tackle pressure and the tackle
count in a fair few games. But they know but
they as much as the ball, yeah, I know, but
this game they will get more, a lot more of
the ball. They actually have a bit of speed on
the counter attack, which I think will stuff up West Coast.
So Tigers will win this one at the MCG.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
An game another.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
There's so many good games this weekends, Like every single
game except for the last one is a great game. Alright,
another great game gm HbA, good Bye Stadium, Geelong. I
like corner that good Geelong verse GWS. Now the big
talking point here the Giants like playing at GMHBA down
(35:51):
the road at the Cattery better than they do at home.
So they've won their last four matches at GMHBA, which
is a big surprise because the Cattergory is one of
the hardest play to play.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
It's so biased and loud and rowdy. But they've won
their last four. That does that surprise you?
Speaker 2 (36:05):
It surprises me because along have a great record down there. Oh,
they're unbelievable down there.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Another one that really loves playing down there, and he's
the main reason they've got a lot of wins down
there is Toby Green. Now, is that a really bad
last I'd say three weeks to a month. He started
off really hot. Everyone was saying, is he one of
the best small forwards in the comp right now?
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Is not? He needs to step up.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
But he's had sixteen goals in his six games down
at Geelong and he averages nineteen disposals there as well.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
So he's if he.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Can bring a game where he just kicks two goals,
gets around that fifteen to twenty touches, which we haven't
seen fro him the last three weeks. I think he
had fourteen disposals last week. Just really I couldn't get
near it at all. It was a super coach curse.
As soon as we brought him in, you got thirty fifteen.
And I didn't even know what he got last week
because I traded him out. That was probably thirty thirty.
I think, come up, what is he doing? The other one,
the Cats, we got to talk him up. They had
(36:54):
an awesome win on the weekend, obviously against the Pies.
They were unbelieved some of the tactics in that game.
They're the fifth best offense and which is surprising because
we've got a few guys out of form, but the
fifth best offense still going now. They've improved their defense
in recent weeks, and the one thing I want to
talk about in too long the main thing, I think
their depth is unmatched. I think the way they recruit
(37:14):
players like Laws and Humpfreeze tom Akins each actually want
to touch on to like tom Akins. Okay, it the
AFL twenty six game. If you guys seen he has
twenty let me just get this right, twenty seven more
tackles this season than anyone in the AFL and he's
not in the top like twelve tacklers on the AFL
twenty six game.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Because of that, I'm not playing the game.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
I don't think I was going to play, but I
wouldn't mind playing it. If we do it for a
bit of work, bit of with a player, we.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Can create our own team. So me you Willam Gerald.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
I'm going to make myself six to them full forward.
Where would you put yourself?
Speaker 4 (37:51):
Ah in the guts, in the in the guts, likely
is down back. Then he can be like brass, I'm
not that tall.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Yeah, it's a video game, looking anyway, cmer great anyway,
tom Atkins, I genuinely think he's just been been really underrated.
Los Nfres I really love as well, and just their
depth is so good. You don't even have Tom Stewart,
who I believe is their best player, their most important player,
and they still beat Collingwood, who've been the best team.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
So really awesome.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
There touched on it before, but we talked about their
forwards and things like that and how it's all working
with Danger firing your what are your thoughts on.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Well, Danger's been in well, I'm not gonna say career
best form because he's been better but almost been superb.
He's having a great season. Jezza hasn't been at his best.
I wonder if there's a little bit of an impact
from Danger's.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
Roll down forward.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Maybe perhaps, But I think for this GWS backline they'll
have their handsful because last week they had Francis and
Handling to deal with.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Handling was tagging Taylor. No, but he never kicked a goal,
yeah until last week.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
Yeah, that's why he was there to tag. So now
you've got to deal with Jezza in Danger and that's
like going from a bloody Fayett to a Maserati. And
then even if you keep them quiet, you still going
to worry about Tyson Stengle Olli, Henry Oly Henry. Yeah,
this guy's on mate four players. Yeah, there's more of
a few. Yeah, but very good point, Sean Manor, let's
(39:13):
just list their entire team.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
You listed all the good players and then you said
Chaddon Neil, I don't know about Shaddon but genuinely you're
right that we've talked up Jeda versus defense so much
in the past, but outside of Sam.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
Taylor, they need it.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
They need a lift like him or Berg. He's not
taking those those intercept marks that we like to see.
So it would be really interesting to see if Jesus
He's had every sort of couple of weeks he's fired up,
but not as much as Danger has every single week.
Like Dangers crashing backs, He's kicking the two and a
half goals a game. He's all Australian right now, Patrick Dan, Yeah,
for sure, which is so that's unbelievable old man.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
All right, tips and margin lads.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Obviously, I said that GWS love playing down there, but
I'm going to go the Cats. I think the win
against Collingwood is just going to spare them on and
they'll stop that curse down there. Against the Giants, yeah,
I'm going to say by twenty five points. I was
at the game the seg on the weekend. The Giants
were insipid, so insipid they cannot possibly win this game,
and then sippid fourteen point loss.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
I couldn't read about it, no, but.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
They were down by like twenty something the whole game.
They would never come back, They would not possibly win
this game.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
No, he's calling it. I tend to agree.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Cats by thirteen and Giants that's what three four losses
on the in the row?
Speaker 4 (40:20):
Now three yeah, three.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
In a row?
Speaker 4 (40:22):
Yeah, three will before they are staring down, Well, they're
already there. They're frauds at the moment.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
So they are there are three of dropping out of
the eight if they lose this game.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
When you think about their great starts of the season,
hundred but they've just completely fell for Cliff. But I
think this will be a lot closer than you think.
Speaker 4 (40:38):
SAT's going on.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
I'm going to go Geelong by seven points. Yep, on
by seven points. There we go, all right?
Speaker 1 (40:43):
The last game when we say the biggest game of
the round might be the biggest game of the round.
But there's still a lot of talking points. North Melbourne
versus Brisbane. Oh sorry, I thought I'll usually coming off Marlbourne.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
But Marcus can do this one Sunday four forty at
Ninjas Stadium. What have we got for this one, Marcus?
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Yeah? Well, Brisbane they've been one of the best defending
premiers in recent memory. There's seven to one, but they
aren't really particularly playing that well, like we're saying it
every week, but they're still chalking out wins. So it's
just whether they can get up and about for a
four forty Sunday game in Hobart against a bottom four
slide in North Melbourne.
Speaker 4 (41:17):
Yeah, can they.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Get up and do it? We'll have to find out.
But there's one big matchup that I'm keeping an eye
on for this game, and I want.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
You guys to have a little bit of a debate here.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
Oh okay, I go Leo, you take Hipwood and Statsgua,
you take your defend Hipwood souvlaki.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
All right, you can go Hipwood first, because he's a
very up and down man.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
But I think Eric the Heal is going to have
a massive game here. Kicked five at Norwood, four goals
against Saint Kilda, and he's kicked seven goals in his
last two meetings against North. Core might be back for
that North back line, but it doesn't fill me with
a whole lot of confidence. So I think Eric's going
to have a big one. I'm gonna say four five.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
Goals, five goals? Really? Yeah? Why not five goals?
Speaker 1 (42:00):
He's got a pretty good kick more than laky.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
So many how many do you think is going to kick?
Speaker 1 (42:06):
So although it's in but this is still a real
football stadium. He's better in the country ground. Eric Kibo,
he kicked four at Marvel. Yeah, but that's just the
one off. He's a very inconsistent man. You've got Lakie
had nine goals against gold Coroast a couple of years
down there, and then just years ago he's got forty
six goals in twenty games down there. He absolutely thrives
down there, and I think he will kick what did
(42:26):
you say five? So Silverer will kick six, No, Marvel
will kick nine, but he will kick six.
Speaker 4 (42:31):
And it's against the premiership winning backline.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Yeah, but they will just be like, oh we're playing
North Melbourne. We'll just they might have checked out. They
might have checked out a little bit.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
Interest on my mom. I'm leaning towards Leo there on
that debate.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Turn for me with what he might have a career
in this Well, I'm doing what I could be a politician.
Speaker 4 (42:50):
You probably could. You're annoying.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
Yeah, I'm going to find your phone with text messages
trumpet of Leo.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
I think it's going to be It's going to be
a really tough, tough game for North Melbourne. But as
long as they show a bit of fight like they
have have done in the previous couple of weeks, losing
by it but not losing by a lot is respectable
against this.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
Yeah, I think they will lose by a lot. Yeah,
what are you tipping, Leo? What are you tipping? Lines?
By fifty six? Sorry stats man, it could be more.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
No, I'll put my t ab out there straight away
because I agree sixty six points. I think we've been
better in the back line so against Port and essen it,
but this is just a different beast therefore, but has
so much depth. Hardiman's been really solid for Norse, but
I think the likes of Charlie Cameron could really far up.
We don't play too well against more forwards. So actually
I'm going to change. I'm going to go eighty six points.
(43:39):
I just like I can't. I don't have any work
nor they.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Made me have wings this week, so at least I
don't have to do that. Now you got to watch it? Well,
watch it?
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Yeah, one of ten thousand people. But we've got the
Lions by five goals. I think it'll be a bit
closer than yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Yeah, because they might not want to play to play
on it. I'm not reading into that. All right, that's
all the previous done. We've done pretty well there, lads.
Let's get into it. The lock of the week and
big calls lock. Now, we haven't done this for a while.
But what's your lock of the week?
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Later?
Speaker 4 (44:12):
What's just certainty? What is going to happen?
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Tell me, well, we just spoke about North Brisbane. I
think Brisbane will be winning the game at quarter time.
That's an absolute lock. North of not won a first
quarter this season. And what started three goals down within
five minutes against Essendon last week and what five goals
at quarter time?
Speaker 4 (44:29):
Like they just can't win a first quarter. They're not
going to do it against Brisbane. That's a lock. There
you go, Uh what, Marcus, what's your lock?
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Well?
Speaker 4 (44:36):
I think it's going to be pretty easy.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
One Thursday and Friday night football will be a thousand
times better than last week.
Speaker 4 (44:42):
Yeah, that's a good one. That is actually pretty good
because there were some stinky games in there. My one,
I just changed it on the fly. There.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
I'm going to go the wizard two plus goals because
Melbourne's they've just been all over the.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
Shop on defense. It just over shop. In the season,
he has a pretty solid season, but he plays well against.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
The lower teams. He showed that against Richmond he dominated.
So two plus goals, I think that's a locker.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
Anyway, he didn't play well against GWS or anything. That's
the only game that he's done well against the big team.
But I mean he plays well always.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Against the lower teams, and I think Melbourn's a lower team.
So two plus goals for the Wizard is my lock
big calls here we go.
Speaker 4 (45:13):
Are we're gonna get one right this week? I think
we will. I think we will confident? All right? What
is your pretty confident? I'm on the Dogs and the
Suns to both score one hundred plus points in their
game at Darwin. I do like that that it's always
high scoring down there. There we go. Replication of Suns
Cats last Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Possibly, possibly, except he thinks Dogs will win LEO. What's
a big call?
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Sammy Lawler and Harley Reid combined.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
For forty plus disposals and four plus goals. You wanted
a stat line, that's my sat A big That a
big call. That's mate, they'll get that in their sleep.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
I'm calling that's the biggest call we've ever had on
this show.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
Forty plus four wim Jordan Dawson to get forty disposals
one game.
Speaker 4 (45:52):
Oh well, he's done that more. No, that's nineteen that game.
So you're saying there, it's going to both go ahead
to ahead.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
It'll be sort of a storyline coming from the game,
just how good we've got these two young kids for
the next fifteen years that we're going to watch.
Speaker 4 (46:07):
Fantastic.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Well, I should have said mine first because it doesn't
sound it's good now, but I'm going to go Nazaia
Wangane Miller. He's one of my favorite players. Thirty plus
disposals and a goal.
Speaker 4 (46:17):
It's actually a big call.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
I'm going to up it to two goals because he's
on the G and I just wanted to play. I
could regret that you are that, but it is a
big call and yours is massive, So two goals.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
Helt pressure the peer pressure. Now I'm on. I love him.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
He's so good on the mc G just the width
of the mc He is going to use his speed averages.
Twenty three disposals there, and he's actually kicked a few
goals off half back.
Speaker 4 (46:37):
He had three goals against the Lions.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
You fall in space really well, you find space really well,
just because he's so quick and he's got a great tank.
So I think he's going to be leg as well. Yeah,
I can't believe I've just changed that. If he only
gets one goal, half tick, No, we don't half ticks?
