Speaker 1 (00:00):
AFL Today Semi Final Prediction Show is here for some
huge matchups.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
What do we cover loads? I'm bricking it as a
Hawks fan. We have to go back to Adelaide over.
What a game it's set.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
To be though, breaking it in a semi final. I
am huge on the Suns. I reckon they can cause
an upset and get the job over the line on
their big brother. Really check out AFL Today Show right now.
Welcome back to the AFL Today.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Show, brought to you by Stockhead, and we are here
and ready to go for semi final week. I'm your host,
Lea McCallon also as the stats guy. We've got the
two chuck leads on the couch, Lia Marcus Barzano. I
reckon Leo just got home from celebrating for the Hawks.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
He gone there. Oh boy, have I got a semi
final spot.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
He has also got Marcus Bardana. He usually uses those
type of jokes.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I do. I really like that leader. That's very good.
I've taken a leaf out of my book. That was
very book.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah, oh my god, just just absolutely relaxed over there.
Another awesome show as we dive into all the matchups.
Tip Tipstat's debates, bogictions are best on ground, which we
absolutely love, big calls as well, and everything in between.
Make sure you stay tuned for the rest of the
final season and beyond, for the rest of the final
series and beyond, because we've actually got a rap of
all the finals teams as well, because obviously if you
want to check that out, your team has been wrapped

(01:14):
up by these boys and Whalley from the ninth to
eighteenth teams.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yes, so you obviously went through every team.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We're going to go through every other team after the
Grand Final wrap which is really really good fun there.
Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube. Please hit the
subscribe button on the way to one million subscribers.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
We are but only two percent of the subscriber bell notification.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
It's a very good call actually because we really want
that subscriber battle because it goes a long way.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
And you know what they say, the best kind of
milk is two percent milk. Really there you go the way,
just going off topic, but that ad that pure is
the pure milk ad from back in the day. Ye
the full cream rection do ye? Make sure you follow.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Let's get this back on track across x TikTok Instagram
and Facebook of course, for more forty content all season long.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
All right, before we have more.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Side tracks on the catch over there, let's get into
the same final previous Friday Night forty.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
What a cracker.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
This one is Adelaide verse Hawthorne Friday Night seven forty
at the Adelaide Oval.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
It's a bit of trauma there, Marcus. Yeah, again to
send me because we've got a semi final on Friday night,
Adelaide verse Hawthorne. It's gonna be absolute monster clash. And look, Hawthorne,
they don't have the best of memories Adelaide Oval. And
you would know that as brain. What is Oval? I've

(02:29):
went through his countless therapy. Yeah, well yeah, is there
going to be adelaid Oval trauma or inspiration for the Hawks? Like,
I'm sorry, Leo, but we've got the Hawthorne trauma real wow,
Because obviously you've got last year's final Versu put Adelaide
where sicily hit the post in the last minute, and
you've got both Adelaide Oval meetings this season that you

(02:51):
guys have played in gathering and also Adelaide just a
month ago, which was another tit loss. And in fact
it's a thirty eight percent win loss record for Hawthorne
Adelaide Oval, and it's not horrible. What's their record in
the past seven, because it is a little bit horrible.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Well, I was tempted to lean towards the Hawkers, but
one and six at the Adelaide Oval in their last seven,
so Adelaide fans are like, oh, that's a good chance
for us to bounce back. It is a bit different
in the finals obviously, but one and six in the
last seven is not good reading.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
No, But it is the first time they've met each
other in finals football on five occasions. Yep, it is
in favor of Hawthorne three to two. But this will
be the first finals meeting at the Adelaide Oval, which
is actually quite a surprise you're considering that's five meeting
a feast, so looking forward to this one. It's going
to be great atmosphere in a huge game. But you know,

(03:41):
obviously Adelaide lost the calling with last week. They're the
minor premiers and if Adelaide lose this week, you can
get knocked out in straight sets as minor premiers. They
will be the first club in AFL history under the
current final system to do so to be knocked out
as minor premiers in straight geez, which has been great read.
So does that change we said Matthew Knicks coach of

(04:03):
the year? Tick? Yep? Does this change your opinion of
Matthew Nicks being coached of the year if they get
knocked out in straight sets?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I reckon it? Does?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I think you can just untick that box if he
goes out in straight sets, No coach could.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
I think the best coach is the one that wins
the flag though realistically yeah most of the time. But
you disagree. I don't think it's whoever wins the flag.
I think it's just whoever's done the best job with
the tools that they have available. Like Adam Use is
probably up there.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Is that what people just putting out there in the world.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
I'll host Wally from two shows that that's a real
completely chant.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah he did want him sack, that's a joke. Is
he's still your coach of the year? Adam? People up that.
I agree with you, guys.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
I think if he if you go down in straight
straight sets, that's not a good look in most sports though,
Coach of the years the regular season, I think, But
in AFL we just do include the finals.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I'm pretty sure I should include the because the final
is the most important thing. But I mean, they did
have a bit of an excuse last week, or they
tried to bring out of an excuse, because they blamed
an illness that that swept through the playing group and
there was about seven or eight of those players, and
perhaps that was the reason they gave for a Porsche
against Honestly, get stuffed out.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Adila fans do not want to hear that they saw
their team not even turn up. They were horrible against
Collingwood and they got a whole week. We were all
sick or half our team was sick or whatever.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
That I reckon.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
That's that's a lie for starters. Thriller, I was just
shirking out of contest. That doesn't mean was he had
an illness that made him jump away from the ball.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
You'd like to see your five two body fly back
with the fly and do what Thriller did.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Well, I don't play a fine, I don't get paid.
I'd like to do it when you're sick too. Well,
first of all, I don't think that was sick. Second
of all, would you do it now?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Because you're a little bit sick, aren't. Well, I'm not
claiming to have a go thriller, No, I just I
just think that you can't blame it even if they
were sick. This is what I'm going to say. Don't
put down in the media. It's badly the excuses. Yeah, no, no,
I agree with him. He just does like to an
area I think that they struggled with against Collingwood. But
I do think that they can get on top in

(06:06):
in this game is the midfield battle. It's going to
be a little tussle in there. Yes, we talked about
Adelaide's midfield depth from last year. Isaac Cumming only had
I think of six disposals, James Peteling, nine disposals, Bill
and a Nielball and seventeen. But still I think the
midfield depth is possibly perhaps just a little bit too

(06:28):
strong for that Hawthorne midfield, because I mean, if you
can tag Newcombe, which they have done in the past,
but if you tag him, there's no one else really
in that in that midfield of that caliber, no one
as good as Johan Nuclem obviously with will Day out.
So it's easier said than done though, because John Newcomb's
finals record is impeccable. He's played in three finals games

(06:48):
and he has three bogs according to AFL, can you
keep it up? I think Hodgy last night called him
mister September. I think that was a bit far from
one of the best September players, isn't it, Lee Matthews
Mister September?

Speaker 2 (07:01):
I think originally was, but then it was as well, Yeah,
I don't think you can put n It's gone from
Hadji to Dusty and new Camyeah pick the old one out, Dusty.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Chopsticks in the in the restaurant.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Now that the idea of just saying an out just
to see my outy was the fact that he played
for Richmond.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
The other two have a crack at some stand up.
I'll tell you what. He's a little bad bro. But
we did talk about yesterday who we think would line
up on him, and it's going to be like we're
thinking Berry. Yeah, obviously, and he did show attention to
him earlier in the season. In the two meetings that

(07:47):
they have had between each other this season, John you
can only had nineteen disposals, which was kicked the match winner?
Do kick the match winner? It was a resulted in
a three point win, a low scoring obviously tazy. There
was a bit of weather involved there and in the
second meeting fifteen disposals in one goal, but it was
only on him for a quarter I believe.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Yeah, he was going between him and Day because obviously
Day was in the team before he got injured.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah, but obviously no Day in this one, so likely
copy a lot of attention there. And on the other
side of the tag watch will Nash, will Nash. Will
Nash find his way to Dawson, but will Connor Nash
find his way to Dawson? What do you think the
play there? Because you haven't really used him as a
tagging roleo.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Will Nash won't find his way to Dawson, but Connor
Nash also won't find his way to Dawson.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Well that made that's so confusing. You just say Dash
won't tag? Is that I think he should tag? I
think it's perfect.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
He's the he's as tall as the said half forward,
he's a big body mask he can take out minds
up well against Dawson.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Let's side for his kicking, of course not so. I
think it's the perfect match up.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
But there's been a few occasions this year that Mitchell
hasn't used that like Nash could have gone to Sarong
when Hawks played Freer and Dawson last.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Time these sides, Matton just hasn't pulled the trigger. So
I'd love to see.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Sam Mitchell just put on his genius hat that Cane
Corn's calls.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Genius hat that make the move. And Dawson was actually
like a momentum changer in the previous meeting in that
second quarter when Adelaide went on a bit of a role.
And speaking of previous meetings, another one who was really
important in those was Alwasac Rankin. He was huge in
both meetings between the two sides. I think he finished
with a combined thirty five disposals and a handful of goals.

(09:29):
But obviously he won't feature but his little parliament crime
In that forward fifty, Joshua Shelley is set to return
to the squad and I know this is a big
ass coming straight back from an injury that has basically
ruled you out for the entire campaign. But is he
the X factor they need to do when they're delivering
the ball inside fifty? And can he do it? Can

(09:50):
he be the game changer? Is he yes, canny different world.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Oh, I think he's good to ruffle a few feathers
of the hock bowl mental because you've got he's a
bit annoying as well Rochelle, So maybe that's a good
good counteract so that he can go at the annoying
Hawks players.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
So maybe that side.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yes, But first game back, he needs to kick at
least two goals, and I don't know, Yeah, I just
think to help their side just to get because they
only's got fifty five points last week, like they need
to kick another big score. And I think he needs
to kick a couple of goals, but I'm not sure
first game back he can do it. If they bring
him straight back in and he gets five touches, doesn't
kick a goal, you're sort of like, what was the.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Worse bringing him back in? I think I think it's
a risk they need to take.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I agree though, I think he has to play, but
I don't think he needs to necessarily hit the scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I think it's.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
More like he comes in right and you look at
the forward half matchups and all of a sudden, hardwick
might have to go to him, whereas hardwork before would
have to go to ben Key. So doesn't free up
bank k true, or does Aimon then have to go
to a matchup that Adelaie can exploit because you know,
am on good user but not the best offense defensively accountable. Okay,
so maybe we'll just give that Hawks defense more questions

(11:00):
to consider.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
So true, it.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Doesn't for me, doesn't have to the scoreboard. But I'd
like to see that small forward brigade if he is
playing combined for what six seven goals?

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Luke, that's all right, speaking of obviously the young forward
coming back from injury, whereas Hawthorne they've got a young forward,
a young star forward that is going to miss with
injury unfortunately. And Kelsha themon package is going to oh dear, yes,
it's going to be obviously the like for life changes.

(11:36):
Mitch lew Is coming back into the side. Is that
what we're going to see, Leo? Or you predicted the
team last week? So are they going to be any
surprises from genius? Hat on?

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Genius never left. Don't worry about it, I reckon Max
Ramson waiting.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
A little bit to be funny. I gave your attempt
at I don't try to be funny.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Lewis will come back in I think is a bit
of a liability at ground level, but I think Chile
can can, I guess, make amends for that. As a
as a bigger body, I would love to see Lewis
have a big game because I'm a bit a bit worried.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
You know, he looks a bit slow, a bit underdone
coming back from injury.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Actually, like he's had two eighty hours in the last
two years.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Not great for him. But I honestly, well, I play
four quarters of footy when this game can be done
in two, because I think that's the way it goes.
When Hawthorne played this season. Okay, so what I'm trying
to say is when Hawthorne have led at halftime, they've won.
They've gone on to win ninety three percent of those games.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Leah turned off at half time if you if you're
up this weekend, Whereas when they're.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Lose, I'll just have the path to turn it up,
people got Whereas when they're they're trailing at half time,
when they're losing a half time they only go on
to win twenty two percent of the games.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Actually, but yeah, maybe you should turn it off if
you're losing it half. So that's probably the better. So
this season.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
This season suggests that when Alaid, when Hawthorne are leading
at halftime, they win, and when they're trailing they lose.
But the crow is actually when they're trailing at halftime,
they won fifty percent of their games liam which is
a fantastic record. Yes, but the record is not great
for trailing for Hawthorne. But you know what, hopefully they
get off to a good start. Songs that Adelaide Oval

(13:32):
crowd because that can be.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Last time and they still they still maybe they should
set They've got to play two quarters of just get
rid of the stats entirely, make sure it's to draw
at half time, and then their stats go out the window.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
It's a classic finals football played too Hawthorne's Hawthorn's defense
contribute where last week was incredible obvious with battle with
Barras and Adelaide's for one was pretty over underwhelming sorry
except for Text and Pedlar, and we called out through
We called out Fog. Yes that they were underdone or

(14:09):
they didn't really show what they were capable of. But
it was actually the tour forwards in the previous meeting
that they got on top with Text Thriller and for
combining for eight goals or kicking at least one, and
that could be a factor which could lay an impact
on the result of the game. Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Do we think that how many goals that they need
to combined for text thriller fog like for them to win.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
I think it needs to be.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Around that much, okay, because like you said, he might
not hit the scoreboard Pedler. I do love Lukie Pedlar,
but who knows what he's going to do. Can he
back it up? I think yeah, maybe seven plus. I'm
going to say it depends how.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Many you get out of the smools. I think I
think because of the.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Open for zero zero, but I reckon if they can
get six maybe out of them, I think that's okay,
depending on what the schools do.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Nice. Obviously, the winner in this one plays against Joel
Long at the MCG and a pre in final the
Hawks that going on too Long would be a classic
matchup and the crop would be really fun as well
for a ticket to the Grand Final, which is very exciting.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Before we get into the tips.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Margins and best on ground for this one, we're going
to cut to footy form. Guys Wall obviously, Wally and
Harry just recorded their best bet of the weekend.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
They were bang on last week. Let's see what they
have this week.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Yet a boys loving the show. Thanks for the shout
out last week. Obviously the unders got up for the
punters and it was a pretty easy watch, which was great.
This week Karen and I have just finished recording and
the one we locks a little bit of an obscure one.
It's actually a try bed and it's in the Adegaide
Hawthorne game.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
We think it's going to be a close one.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
We're struggling to take a lean to either side, so
Harrow's pulled the reins and he's made a call here
and we're going to back either team to win by
under twenty four and a half points. And you're actually
getting a decent price on that one. We think it's
been going to be a close contest to us two
between these two have its finals. It's going to be tough,
it's going to be tight. But yeah, either team to

(15:59):
win the Crows Hawks game by under twenty four and
a half points.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Go Hawkies. What are you really gambling with?

Speaker 1 (16:06):
For free and confidential support, call the number on the
screen or visit the website let's go to do the tips,
margin and best on ground in this one. Lads, I'll
start with.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Leo in the corner over there for that your.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Beloved Hawks negative, a no hater, a realist crumb by
six points and Jordan Dawson will have a big say
on this game. I don't think Hawthorne will tag him,
and I reckon he will bounce back from a pause
showing from the skipper last week.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Yeah, fair col Yeah he was a bit pausing, he marcus.
I'm leaning towards Adelaide on this one again. So twelve points,
two goals. I think it's going to be a really
close game and it's going to be an absolute arm
wrest will come down the last quarter. No, I think
Joshi Warrell, friend of the show, Josh Warrel. Yeah, he'll

(16:53):
be best on ground. He's been leading like Adelaide disposals
in previous games, and even though the it has been
pouring a couple of previous weeks, he's been one that
sort of helped can hold his head high. Yeah, and
he was great in the last meeting. I'm going to
keep saying that, surely, surely just something I gets in
next year and yourself I'm going to go crom by
ten points.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
I think we're all going a really close game under
two goals, and Benny Keys I'm going to touch on
that in maybe my big call later on, but I
think he's going to have a big say. And I
really liked Leto's point of Rashale back in. It just
caused a bit of chaos for the Hawks back line,
which they didn't really want.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
So you just hope he's not on Hardwick, which I
don't think you will be because Kids gets up the
ground Hardwick stage.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
But you're right because if Hardwick's on him, then.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Hardwick will stay. I think you'll be fine. Keys will
get up the ground. The very nice. The other semi
final is a Q clash.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Lads, let's get around this one at Brisbane verse Gold
Coast Saturday night, seven thirty five at the Gamma.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Let's go Lew.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
This is how.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Bloody exciting is this? The Suns? They did it last
Saturday night? Can they do it this Saturday night? Look?
The last time.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
These two sides played was six weeks ago. It was
at People's First. I believe the Sun's won by eleven goals.
Now there was some key players missing that day for
Gold Coast took Miller and Dan Reeling two guns.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
I'm pretty show that it wasn't the wet as well,
and Lions are missing linemen.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Now the players from that day that will miss in
this game are the Lions, Lucky Neil and Eric Hipwood.
No really anyone from the Suns. Does that mean advantage Sons?
Are we daring to dream markets?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
I'll tell you what. I'm really big on the Suns,
I think, honestly, and it's partly just to do with
that pink kit, but also but also the one hundred
percent finals record. But that pink kit is amazing. But
I'm actually really big on them. I think they can
gause an upset and get the job done. Gabbertoire where
they don't have the best of records. No team has
lost to the Sons and won the Grand Final. But

(18:43):
if they just go on and win the thing that
that is redundant.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
It doesn't make any sense. If they go on and
beat along in the Grand Final, then every team that
is lost of the Gold Coast Sons cannot win the
Grand I think that's what you meant.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Absolutely shut up. But because I was on GBS, I'm
going to jump over to the other experience and I
like him. They need a bit of support, so I'm
given a tool. All right, fair enough, but let's get serious.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Oh for this, it's going to be some physics.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Well I'll get into that.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Let's talk a bit about how last week the Cats
they showed the Suns the blueprint to stop these these
brizzy lines. Firstly, you've got to tag McCluggage. You gotta
tag Rainer. But there's one issue. Sons just don't tag.
Maybe they will, should they? What are we thinking with
the midfield matchup? Should they find a tagger? Should a

(19:38):
body Ywland who's a great lockdown go to cam Rayner?

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Interesting? How do we see that playing out? I would
actually really like to see Timela go to hear m
cluggage and play a sort of interesting not a lockdown,
but body on body, you know, basically, just don't leave
his side, grab some areas that he shouldn't possibly or
he might find his way to Orcer. That'll be fun later.

(20:01):
But yes, no, I do think two Miller to human
cluggage could be a bit of a play.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I don't mind that both have the running capacity. Yeah,
I don't mind that either. That's the any thoughts I
think you have to tag. I'm leaning towards the mycluggage
as well.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I wasn't really sure who, but maybe too because obviously
you've got Roally Anderson dominating him if two doesn't have
to do as much of the workload. But I think
you've got to tag mcluggage over everyone because you take
out locking Ere. They rely really heavily on the cluggage.
He got tagged last week and they got absolutely smashed,
So I'd say mcluggage.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I think, yeah, but you're reading towards more Rainer skeptical.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Because they just don't do it the some Yeah, I
don't there, I don't see it happening. Then on the
flip side, you could go Dunkly on raw Anderson, which
would be interesting to see because I think Dunkley will
play in the gating role. But the other way to
stop Brisbane is stopping that kick mark game that they love.
They love the un contested marks. They want the corridor. Basically,

(20:54):
the Lines average the most marks this season with one
hundred and four. Interesting, it's I think three more and
the Cats are next next best. They were ninety last week,
sixty three last time. These sides meant, although as you said,
was raining so probably wasn't the conditions for it. So
with all that sort of statistical midfield match up stuck in,

(21:17):
I'm big on the big brother here, I am big.
I just think if we look at the Sun's record
against the Gabba, against the Gabba, at the.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Gap against it too, I guess trump against the Wall
to Gather, they've.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Lost their last ten there, they last one man twenty
and eighteen and an all time record of three wins
eighteen losses ideal and on top of that, Brisbane lead
the Q Clash record twenty one to eight.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
So honestly that's better for the Suns than I thought.
It's still horrible though, but Brisbane weren't great in that
earlier as well when they did join the competition. So
Brisbane did a.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Late in late twenty ten, but that I think Goos
were worse late twenty tens though, like the Brisbane we're
not the best other than the Miracle and I'll grasp,
but look, I just think that midfield for Brisbane, that,
to be honest, I thought was embarrassed last week. Mcclaugey
drain and Ashcroft dunky, these guys they will respond. They're professionals,

(22:15):
they're high, like highest performing, absolutely great mid core.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Levi I got a little bit schooled last week in
the midfield. So does he have the ability to be
the one to step up in this game with Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Maybe I don't even think he needs to go brother,
You've got you know, as I mentioned those four guys there,
you can add in, you know, Zach Bailey as well. Like,
I don't think there's any pressure on Levi to to respond.
And as you mentioned his brothers and am with mellist
so he can go in what has gone over there

(22:50):
in a bogan. There One player that does need to lift, though,
is Charlie Cameron.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Now he had two disposes last week. Stats guy, you
hated him. I was not even it. You're here on Sunday.
Oh yeah, I was on Sunday. I though we're talking
about like game. Oh I stopped came my bad. Yes,
he was very poor. He was very good at least

(23:17):
I stop myself for it.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
But he does love playing the Suns forty three goals
from nineteen games, which is the best first any record.
So if there's any time for Chucky to step up,
it's in this game.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
And look.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
I touched on me being on the Big Brother and
just on the Big Brother Little Brother.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
I guess rivalry stats guy, there's a matchup you love.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
I talked about this on the Sunday Show. I've been
thinking about this all week.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Are you sure you were it on the Sunday Show.
I think I wasn't there. I don't know. It was
an out of body experience. It's such a good show.
Check it out.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Dane Zorko verse twok Miller. Is that matchup I'm looking for.
They always go ahead to head. They always got a
bit crazy, bit a bit wild. There's always they don't
want to take each other's hands. There's been a few
hands going the wrong places. There's been a a few
are saying the breast stinks and things like that. Absolutely
wild too as well. I said last night in an interview
he wouldn't get a beer with him.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
And Midst there's still a rivalry there. A lot of.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
AFL players are like when they go to the middle, oh,
I don't know, there's nothing there or something like that.
But these two genuinely hate each other. And Zorko he
lifts his intensity usually as an outside player. This this
man he loves an outside, get a bit of a
meters gain on the outside. But he has more tackles
than one percenters against Gold Coast than any.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Other opponent in his career. So he's going it hard.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
And I'm going to say half his tackles on the
weekend will be directed at two Miller's ribs something.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Yeah, I genuinely reckon, he'll try it. Probably takes him
took Miller's ribs anyway, Miller is not that all. So
who's the little brother? Even though twok Miller is younger,
I think, well, the skull gold Coast a little brother.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
I just meant from out of these two as well,
I'd say maybe that's the rival.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Is born there, obviously because they're both leaders of the
club the respective times. Yes, and yeah, obviously there's a
bit of a derby there that was.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Like a ball effect, like one thing happens to the
other person and then they counteract, and yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
I don't know, I've just loved it over the years.
I think it's been going on for about six years.
So hopefully we see some of.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
That final how Bloody goes exactly right and the last
thing before we get to tips Ben King. Last week
zero goals three behind, but he has a massive role
to bring the full round to ground on Harris Andrews.
We know how dangerous Andrews is from his intercepting. I
think he had nine intercepts from sixteen touches last week.
But if King can bring it to the ground, and

(25:28):
you've got guys like Bailey Humphrey who kicked three last
week in his first finally kicked three last time the.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Sides played, he's had a breakout. Yeah. By the way,
I think he's been so underrated. He has been, and
he's he proved last week. He's a big final.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
He's a big game player, steps up for the big occasion.
So I don't even think King needs to kick a
goal here. I was on the tea for them to
do it. He just needs to do enough to stop Andrews' impact.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
Yeah, I don't know it because you've got other guys there,
like even though he's a mid size, but you've got
Ben Loman Lewis kicking goals. He's more than capable in
the air. I get goals from mid in the air
as well. Yeah. Cool, Yeah, couple, there we go, there
we go.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
It's gonna be awesome. Q clash, tips, margin and best
on ground. I start with Marcus please you know what.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
I was big on Gold Coast and all I think
they get the job done. I'm not on gold Coast
by fifteen really better. One of my favorite players in
the competition, Noah Anderson. I believe we'll get the best
on ground.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Ooh interesting do the Q clash metal for this in
a five, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah? And the Ashcroft Willascraft has got it before, which
is pretty cool. Lea.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
I'm going lines by fifteen, and I think well Ashcroft
will actually be a best on ground. I can thirty in
a couple thirty.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
That's a huge day, huge, talking about huge huge.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
McCluggage is going to get best on ground or ground
to whatever you want to call it. Lines by twenty
two points. I'm almost tempted to up that. I think
that it was the fairy tale for the Suns last week.
Und up at about no trumpets will be heard.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
If you're going to what are you gonna up it to?

Speaker 1 (27:04):
I'll go thirty five reason win by thirty thirty five.
I want a Suns fan watching to clip up me
and stats guys, tips and if Sons win, make an
edit out of it and include Marcus is when he's
when he's right as well. There we go, all those sons.
I actually know a couple of Suns fans, but if
they make any edits out of us, you know all
of the Suns fans.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Yeah, that's lucky.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
We got to the end of the game there, All right,
that's all the games are cover, The semi finals all cover. There.
Let's get into the lock of the week and the
big calls. What is your lock of the week literal?

Speaker 2 (27:34):
I'm going for nos twenty plus disposals. No Anderson that is, yes,
I see him if it's a lock mate. If Dunkley
does go to him, I still think he gets Sweeny.
But I actually think Dunkley goes to a round.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Interesting. My lock is Barry goes to new very good luck.
That one is. That is absolute must and be so
stupid of you, Matthew Nicks if you did not do
that matchup, and I believe that will be a lock
and that could be the key to win the game. Interesting,
what are you passing like as a pass mark? If

(28:05):
you go for a quarter two quarters?

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Now it needs to be majority of the game. We
also need the commentators to consistently mention it, okay.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
Like that he's nervous now like no, no, that they
would they will mention it. Yeah, I agree with that.
That's a good call.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Mine is Dunky five plus tackles, so I think he
averages close to seven or eight. Last he's last five
against against the Sons. He's age five plus tackles, So
just a lock there. And like you said, he likes
to play that negating role at the time in the midfield,
and he's a beast tackler, so tackles absolutely easy for him.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
I reckon. Sorry, that's a big one on Champion data.
By the way, what do you mean, like just sometimes
what they call a tackle and not a tackle? I
agree with that.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
There was there's a few tackles I'll count on myself.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
I'll go through. There's a lot of handballs that are counted,
which I don't believe handbles frows in the competition fifty
it's like marriage exactly right. There we go, big cold, Marcus,
be cool. I'm going to go very big cool here.
I'm going to go Anderson, wits Ral and Miller. So
the Gold Coast midfield to combine for thirty plus clearances.

(29:14):
That is a lot. There we go thirty plus clearances
in the game. And I believe with locking Neil out
with possibly humor humor pluggage, if they do put in
the gating role on him, then they can dominate the midfield.
And they've got players that just take clearances. Some big
approving of your big cause a big moment.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
I feel like, what how many appearances do like this
Sun's average be around forty forty forty one, So I believe.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
All of those players, anyone's getting their mid their clearances.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
So I don't mind that.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
If they fers. Nah, good old defensive clearance really could
be in there.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
True. Oh, it's a big call for a reason, for
a reason. It is a very different big call. Yeah,
I was just trying to be a bit different. That's
who I am.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
I'm going for two hundred and forty plus tackles across
the two games.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
I had a look last week was last week was
just below that tackle. That's just usual markets touch. Can
we count that one? That's one of the tackles the week?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
All right, I will give you two hundred and thirty
nine plus because Marcus already gave.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
You a tackle. There you go. Grab two undred and
thirty eight the min Also, both of them were on
the man. Where's the footy?

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Mate?

Speaker 3 (30:34):
We don't ever tackle the mics.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Actually that was a violation. So I'm going to just
give two hundred and thirty nine hundred and thirty eight.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
That's fine.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Look, that's sixty tackles per team and I just reckon
Hawthorne adelaide. I can see both sides getting over seventy
tackles in that, yeah, which will be one and forty
and then only fifty each of the Q clash work
piece of five.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Mate, it's a lock lock, it's a lock out. A
big call one, there we go big.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
My big call is Keys up ben Keys fifteen plus
disposal and three plus goals.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
He had two goals.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
One in the last meeting against the Hawks. We had
a chance for three goals.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
He's not playing Collingwood. Yes, yeah, I was.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Not doing this big call last week against Collingland. But
this week I think you can find a bit of space,
especially with Rashalie back, a bit more space in that
fowardine kick three plus and they will go in the
miffit a little bit and push up the ground. Fifteen
plus disposal so that's my big call, all.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Right, no more tackles from me. Well, I'm more good
on tackled out tackle. Yeah, well he done both on them.
How Josh Unkley do it? Yeah, I don't know. I
don't know how he does it. That'll do us for

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
