you so much to Wally for filling in in this year.
Did a great job. We've got the boys on the couch.
They're back. Yes, I've got Marcus Bars, Liam Lea, I
Reckon just had a massive night as i't come home
since the Hawks won a gone the Hawks.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
The Hawks went three from three yesterday and I'm going
to have about ten voice cracks this show. Just prepare
for it.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I think Marcus usually I Reckon, he'd be the more
in the responsible one, the.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Responsible one, but everyone will so no reals japeans. That's good, right,
I want to get caress how good is Finals footy?
Before we get into the show.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Is why we kick ten k because we're going to
lose all our subs now, keep subscribing.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
It goes a long way and absolutely awesome, guy, it's
ten k.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
I want to job talk about later. Just relax, all right,
let's get into it. The Finals A week one results
Thursday Night footy at the Adelaide Oval. The qualifying final
the first qualifying final Adelaide collingwod Adelaide eight goals, seven
fifty five defeated by Collingwood eleven goals thirteen seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Finals footy markets. What a game it was? What a game?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
What opening quarter to kickoff? Finals footy was fast paced,
there was high pressure. I think the pressure rating for
Collingwood all the stages of that game was two hundred
and fifty.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I love a pressure to the people just men on
men especially, But where else do we start?

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Because I said I was wrong, because I said I
was worried about the absence of Jeremy Hale, especially against
the three La Tours that could be that could break
open the game. So I was worried about that. But
I shouldn't have had any worries because the defense was huge.
It was Darcy Moore, even though he had that one
stuff up early in the game where he just dropped
the ball and gifted a goal to Jordan Dawson.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
He was unreal that whole game.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
He was like on track for the record of intercept marks.
At one stage it felt like he had every time.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
I believe he had nine intercept mark Well, I did
have a record.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
I've got to place in the runchet the most intercept
marks in the final really yeah, nine in sept markets
absolute aesome.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
He does copy Darcy Moore for his inability to defend
at times, but when you're.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Doing that, that's exactly absolute does Maynard was really good.
I was at Quaina was exceptional with a lot of
pressure on him as we was. Yes, Billy Frampton, of course,
Billy and Frampton last friendship start Billy Frampton was it's
been so.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
And they kept Adelaide to the third lower score this
season and the second time they kept Adelaide to that,
you know, mid fifty points, the second time in a month.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
So that was huge from Collingwood and boys.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I know, like a lot of a lot of them
were questioning with their form heading into finals.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Are the back ye hundred percent?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
They just lived there because we were very worried about
the Pies that towards the end of season, I think
you tip them.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
But I think if you're a Pie if I don't
want to speak for Pies fans, but I feel like
they would have been worried going into it, like their
former last six weeks was very poor. To come out
in a volatile crowd get that result that that gives
them the belief that they could.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
They would have got some confidence from the last loss
because they they kicked a lot of point they could
have easily won that game. So then they probably, oh,
we can be Adelaide and then they didn't there and.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
It's almost like Adelaide needed a small worry inside forward
that could be a bit of a barometer for them.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
True, but Collingwood's.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Third quarter was electric that was where it split the
game way from the premiership quarters. Everyone knows the third
quarter to be and they dominated, They got out to
a big lead and it was allowed them to be
very professional and workman like in that large last quarter
where it can be a bit more scrappy, a bit
more cagey, stay on, That wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
It was It was a bit of arm wrestled.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
They couldn't they let the game get away from them
and I thought they just managed that last quarter fantastically.
And that's all to do with, you know, the finals experience.
And although we did mention Adelaide probably started they fairly well,
they were the better team to start the game in
the first ten minutes, but particularly throughout the game, in
that early early start to the game, they were just

(04:56):
booned it long down the line inside fifty.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Was an Adelaide's game.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I know they got the had kicks, they were weren't
looking with our kicking the ball and that just allowed
the likes of Darcy Moore to take those record in
a set marks in the finals game. So do we
put that down to finals experience Because Collingwood entered the
game with two hundred and fourteen games of finals experience.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
That is crazy to me.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Two hundred and fourteen games versus the Crows forty six
games and we just feel like that's probably what saw
them over the line in the end, because it was
the experienced players for Collingwood that stood up for the
whole game. And there was the likes of Jordan Goalie
who actually didn't play much footy throughout this year but
again twenty six and a goal, great snap.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Two halftime so quart of time too.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, he was, which is interesting because I don't know
about like his fitness throughout the whole season and things
like that, and then he dominated as the game went on.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Yeah, it just shows how hard he's been working. And
then Slide bought him as well. Unreal fifteen disposals, so
it probably doesn't get as many on that front, but
he certainly chipped him on the scoreboard. He kick three goals,
so that's huge when the midfield is kicking three goals
from fifteen disposals, and Pendlebury as well twenty three disposals.
I believe he had nine in that last quarter, all
at one hundred percent and that's just what that's just

(06:11):
what leaders do.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah, exactly right, exactly right. But how important is the gooey?
I brought him up, but how important is he to
Colin was premiership hopes?

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah, I feel like he's the man. Like they've got
all these players obviously all good in their own right,
but he's like the match winner. He's the one that
he obviously did it on Thursday night if he stays fit,
puts it together, and he could put together like a
five minutes in a game that leads the leads the
Pies to a great victory. He's the difference maker. He's

(06:41):
the barometer.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
When we were worried about him as well, I think
we were saying, where's the outlet or the speed or
the burst outside of Dekos and you put the Goey
in there. I didn't know he still had that in
him a bit and.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
He showed that. So he exactly right and Warland go
GOI So they both got fine in the end for
for some bumps. But Lilliam, you have a bit of
a conspiracy theory around this.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
I'm a bit annoyed, like, where's the consistency with the
Tribune And you've obviously got if the Goie or Warrel
did that in the regular season I'm back in it.
They would have got suspended. I will let them because
they're going to play another final. Will let them go this,
let them get suspended. I know that they were both
pretty soft, like yeah, like they just grazed them. So maybe,
But I genuinely think if it was the regular season,
they wouldn't even thought twice about it because just missing

(07:26):
like a regular season game, not a final.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
You guys agree A mind the minority. If I say that,
I get if it was regular season, they would have
been suspended. I don't think they should.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Have been Personally, I don't think I just made off the.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Rules it was. Was it a bump like I feel
like you just sort of like crazy like, I don't know,
I feel like there was no intent to bump.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, it was gone for the smother. Both times we've seen.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
If you just get something in the head, usually it's yeah.
I guess no one was cast the other big outcome back.
I think I think they would have.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
They probably would have said it as a precedent, yeah,
for the of the season. If it was during the
regular season, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I like it for different rules. I reckon, Yeah, what's
going on there, Let's get it. But yeah, poor Text
as well and his son, he's three hundredth games as
Gingre didn't dirty. They gave his son the Collingwood. He
really robbed me out. I put this in the run sheet.
He Text is getting cheered off. I said, obviously lost.
He played pretty well. But in his three hundredth game,

(08:23):
Nick Dacos has given his start of girls. He's walking
off with with the walker on the back of his
and he's an It happened to you when you were
I told you guys this before the show.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
When I was younger, I said, I was gone for
the colling Magpies because I loved the mascot when I
was like four or five and my parents my parents
literally packed a bag and locked me out of the house.
That's what Text should be doing. It shouldn't be let
a little Louis back in the house, because that.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Is the bloke's been loving birds since day one.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
That it was, But it was it was Texts and
Lukie Peddler as well. Forward you love a little bit.
I didn't leaven him. I'll be I said, this is
the man and they were the most dangerous in that
Adelaide forward line.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
But I'm talking about like we're looking for. We say,
they obviously won the trade period in the off season,
but where where were they their recruits throughout this game
because they were really poor as well as Leo. You
want to point out Foggedy and there's another person that
you want to point out Liam, Yes, but Isaac Coming
only had six disposals. James, he's one who has finals.

(09:29):
J James Peeling had nine disposals, Foggedy had ten, and
Alex Neil Bullen had seventeen.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Early seventy is not horrible stiff Neil bull only.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
A few score involvements though, but I feel like he
always if he's going to have seventeen, like sideot him
had fifteen, chipped.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
In with three goals.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Neil Bullen if you have I know he's got. He's
not that sort of player, but he's got to be
able to chip in with it with a goal or
two in some big moments here. But you didn't like
the game of fog And you have someone you want
to call out.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Well, Thriller.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I obviously had a couple of goals and fifteen touches,
but I think it was a few when the media
were calling him out and he.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Was a little bit soft. I don't know if the
beard's there for shows a scary looking man. He's so big.
He usual muscles a bit more.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
There was a few times he put he shirked out
of contest, which during the season. I don't know if
it was he was rattled in the finals or something.
I didn't think he would ever do that. He loves
crashing packs. He literally pulled out of about four contests,
which really surprised me, and I think that was a
big reason they lost the game.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
What about when he was running into the open goal
in the last he was horrible. You know what he's
done there though, he's gone. I got to get Ben
Keys's first goal against that I don't care about when
this final goal the twelve games now for Keys without
a twelve. He hates the Pies. He does hate the Pies.
Tried to help him, Yeah, he was.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
He does hate the pause and he was involved in
a bit of lip post game as well. After the
Sawen went because Maynard he gave a little bump to
Alex Neil Bulling. So I might be wrong on the siren,
which perfectly legal, but Keys wasn't.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
It wasn't a fan of it.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
And he wasn't taking any lip from any an he
call him with players because it was a physical night
and there was obviously there's a lot of that was
want to be fair, but there was.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Heaps of the post game.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
But it was good to see that it didn't progress
from there into a bit of fifty cuffs. But the
fifty cuffs at half time, these kicks kids, those kid
kids are running out on the ground and they're still going.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
The pies.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Kids are going like, let's get involved. They don't have
any teeth.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
It was like it was like spy kids when you
got a hundred kids all just just running and and
bashingab adults.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
I actually love that reference.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
That's terrible though by Colin Wood and Adelaide's having a
bad precedent for those kids. Honestly, the voice of the
kids are gone home and they're they're gonna they're bashing
their mates now. It's not I want to more fights
in the AFL always said that'd be quiet.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
But I've got a couple of big questions for you
boys here.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Did the Mason Cox gamble work because he almost looked out.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
I was a quainter with Maker. He always knocks his
own teammate out roll adelaide crowd and he gave away
a fifty penalty. He pushed Riley O'Brien on the ground
and stood over him. What sort of auraor does this mean?
And if we has goggles, what sort of orror does
this think? But you thought he works.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
He offered more of than Mixtay gives Darcy Cameron to
chop out. It means Cameron can float into the back
line to help intercept. And if he can go forward
and prior to contest, which I thought he did on
multiple occasions, that's all you need from him.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
You can get more rock work out of him when
they've got memory and my checks alright up in the
forward line. Probably don't need another more because Mixtay is
more of a forward.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Than a ruck forward.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
True, true, But yeah, we'll probably see him in the side.
It's hard to push him out. I think keep him
and a little plug.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
We'll do a little plug for footy form God, because
of course, when do they when do they get a
best bet wrong?

Speaker 4 (12:53):
I don't think they ever do the best tip. And
they got the total under one hundred and sixty and
a half points in this game, beautiful, and the paws. Yeah, pies,
we'll fitting wrap it up loads, wrap this one up,
the game into another prelim for the Pies. Actually, one
thing we didn't reference. I just remember there's the f bombs.
After the game you had Nick d f flies, like

(13:14):
the most flies.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Is a bit cring.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
He's like, we're gonna, we're gonna win.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
And then then he almost for the fans, and then
this one was for the fans, and this.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
One was for the fans.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
This almost like yeah yeah yeah, looking along my dad.
It's not a fan of him.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Is a bit of a week. I like like, I
like him and the Crows. They're playing the Hawks on
Friday Night of the Adelaide Oval and then it's gonna
be good semi final. You're gonna excited for that one.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I'm already nervous. I will be. Yeah, No, I've had
bad experiences at Adelaide Oval with Hawthorne.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
You have your wizard hat is still there's right?

Speaker 3 (13:53):
I got new one?

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah you don't have a new one, all right? Friday
night footy at the m C.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
The are the qualifying final Geelong Brisbane Geelong sixteen goals sixteen,
one hundred and twelve smash Brisbane eleven goals.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Eight seventy four.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Now, lads, is the fifth time these sides have met
in the final and it was the first time that
this wasn't a prelimb. So pretty awesome stat there and
jeln they smoked them there. They cats nailed the midfield
matchups in this one. Bravo to Chris Scott and Stephen King.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Very Nate.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
We talk about this on the previews show about who
would go to who you were playing matchmaker this?

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Sorry sorry that was that was me.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
That's why they made They always make preliums. And the
goal was like something ridiculous fourteen seven. Oh ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Oh that's crazy. That's what they do. They breed down.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
That's you're complaining being Jelen supporter.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Yeah, they got to travel to the g an hour
on the highway. God mulin on mcluggage mcclugige had fourteen disposals.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
It just shows you have to tag McCluggage.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
And mullin kicked his first goal.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Yeah, he was awesome.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
I was waiting for Rattling Bog to come on the
buddy yeah speaking, but it didn't a song, nothing came nothing.
Oh my money was terrible. O'Connor and Rainer. Rainer thirteen disposals,
three goals, so you might say three goals. Okay, did
he beat O'Connor. The controversy plenty of controversy around this time.
So stangle as the ball, what's sixty out? Cats dominating?

(15:19):
Kicked the last four then Rainer two freeze in front
of goal for let's just say he did dive. But
like the umpiring there? What what the hell was that?

Speaker 2 (15:32):
That is terrible umpiring in a major final. We don't
usually talk about the umpires, but you have to. We
have to talk about that one. I think they admitted
that one of them was wrong.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
The first one was wrong, but the second one, which
was the same thing, is right.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Yeah, I saw I see me get the second one,
but one definitely not.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Why explain it? Explain it to me.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Look, it was not.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
That I get it, but it was so silly to
give away from three games away.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
The second one, it was silly.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
He was always you're going to do that, He's always
going to go down, and it was like it wasn't
like there was no force there. For the second one,
he did do it with when he was unexpectedly didn't know,
so Look, I don't hate the second one, Like I
don't even agree with it, but I don't hate it either.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
It's a major finals. I think it's more just silly
from Zach Uthrie.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Shouldn't be doing that, Yeah, I think if it happens
in a marketing contest or like a normal sort of contest,
they're not paying free kicks for stuff like that, So
I think I think it's really that was really.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
The other thing as well, the first one. Okay, if
they paid the free, doesn't it go to where the
ball is?

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Yeah? Why did it go to the golfs grip?

Speaker 1 (16:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
It was like it it's a bit of a fishy area.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Sometimes it does go to where the ball is some
I don't know. It didn't cost the game, it didn't.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah, to be I loved. I absolutely loved the camera
in a shouse.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Yeah, when he kicks the third goal and he he's
a bit of calmer karma. I feel like it obviously
came back to Bien. They were three goals down, but
I feel like he's earned that right from the prelim
last year where he well, he's had a few good finals.
He's lifted this year and I love that. I want
to see more players do that. We can talk about
a player that did it in the Hawks game, yes
we can, But to be honest, Geelong should have won

(17:10):
by a lot more. Oh yeah, like you take out
those two goals, the misscoring chances.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Five to eleven to start the game. I think they
really could have won by People were questioning their leading
because they haven't beaten the top eight side since July seven.
I believe it, but they haven't really played many well looked.
I think they lost the two week questions.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
That's that run and we questioned it as well, and
they've just come out and done a statement.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Look the Cats always do.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
And it was a cheating wingman that was excellent O cheating.
He's the cheat. I'm calling him the cheap and reason
for good reasons because this bloke, if you watch him live,
he does not care about defending though, no, no, like he.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Just doesn't really need to. I guess it's like a fifth.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Not a one way, one way runner. But when it's
a fifty to fifty contest, he's already mild in front
of his.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Wingmen and honestly just got to play goal side of him.
Take forward even be really good.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Scott backs him in to do that and it pays
off his three goals twenty five disposals, and he really
scooled Levi Ashcoff like Ashcroff got tactically subbed and there
were just countless occasions where he'd get out of the back.
He's such a smart football.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
That good was that goal as well? They're running into
the goal square very similar. I think some a few
people posted to the Grandes messy cross, but that that
goal off the ground.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Is there any better second year players? Oh it's fourth, Yeah,
it doesn't. Yes, better second year We could have gone
without that ten seconds. There we go.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
The winner of this, though we said it on the
previous show, was in prime position. We all, well you
went Geelong, but I think you did that for the
sake of the show. Oh Geelong.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Now are though the flag favorites?

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Are we saying right now? As of what's the time
ten o five a m. Sunday the seventh September a
Geelong winning the flag?

Speaker 2 (19:05):
I think so? Now the Jibby Weson looked out of
later for that.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Oh so they have to be the favorite. Yeah, because
Collingwood's obviously their defense was good. I think the overall
team player. You said thirty different goal kickers. Almostlf, I'm
about to say, oh, I thought thirty different goal kickers.
There there we go, so thanks man, Sorry I stole
that one.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, well it was.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
It was an excellent team performance by the Cats and
they spread the disposal count as well, like Holme's and
Bailey Smith twenty three to twenty two respectively, and they
both kicked the goal. They didn't need to have the
touches that they normally do because again they just spread
the love. It was awesome to see Brisbane the midfield
was beaten. It just shows maybe that if you tag

(19:46):
McCluggage and you tag Rainer, there might not be a
little bit of a spar true. True, but Neil he
did his calf, he's out for the season. And how
about Hipwood as well, finding out he as a partial
a Celtair. I know that that's pretty grimy. We go
there for whatever injury had to remember and then you
find out you've got a boody.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Partially, yeah, because I think if it hasn't fully gone,
I've seen people play like sports which you can play
through it, but then it's going to snap eventually, So
you can't play.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
He that Jordan Really they have their own medical staff
issues there.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Yeah, did you hear that Esidence Football Clubs.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
How do we think mainly the Neil one, how do
we think that will impact Brisbane? Do you think that
that's going to reckon It's huge?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, I think so. He's a dual Brandlow medalist. You
need someone to that quality.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
I think that the leadership as well, because they lacked
a bit of that, like another guy that wasn't getting tagged.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
To step up.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
And also of locking Neils on the side, it probably
means most of the time that human cluggage isn't getting tagged.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
But their midfield is so deep though, and I feel
like playing the Suns next week, the Suns don't tag
I know.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
But I feel like it is very different.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
The Gould Coaster a very bullish midfield, whereas Geelong you probably.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Wouldn't say so apart from Atkins.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Yeah maybe maybe Baz, but he loves the outside and
get a bit of pace on the game. So I
just think with Neel out it impacts the rest of
the team massively.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Yeah, fair enough.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
And Harris Andrews, I thought he was really strong down back.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
I thought Neil did all right on him, but nine
interceps from sixteen disposals.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
I would not want to think what the score was
if Andrews did.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Not play for Brizsie but Statska, you want to highlight
a small forward. He's been pauled this year.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
It makes me sair. We didn't get to see the
motorbike very often this year. Charlie Cameron kicked the first
goal of the game, like, oh, he's on, I thought
the lines are on. He kicked the first goal in
one touch. After that, he had two disposals for the
whole game. I reckon it was like space jam. He
lost all his powers this year.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
I don't know what. I don't know. He's taken the
country roads back to the gabble. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, that's
a bit. Christna wasn't too bad.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
But Leo, you've mentioned multiple shows that when Brisbane get
on a roll and are unstoppable, it's because of Charlie Cameron.
Like the Hawks earlier in the year when they played
Charlie Cameron got three quick goals. Lad is he the
Lions barometer because he kicked the first goal, did nothing
after that and if he kicks maybe two more, maybe
they fire up a bit more.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
What do you think I reckon They've got a few
of those players though obviously have Charlie Cameron, but kay
Loman's another MoManI as well, and they were all relatively quiet.
So yeah, it's one that you don't want to often
rely on just Charlotte Charlie.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
No, of course not.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
But he has poor even if he kicked only one
goal and had another ten or so touches, not horrible
two touches, and I think he had seventy eight percent
time on ground because I had to look after the
Gun'm like, surely he was off for a bit.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
He kicked one? Really really did the first goal actually
look better?

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Shit?

Speaker 2 (22:31):
What has happened since I gone away? He's listening more.
This is what he realized. They picked him up.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
Anyway, I want to finish on this one, and we've
talked about Jess reaching the ton all year.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
I think it's done, though he's been a little bit.
Oh sadly, it's done. It's done.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
We've talked about this obviously the last couple of weeks.
He's kicked ten goals twelve in his last four games though,
so I think he's thrown it away. He could have
been a lot closer he kicks.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
If kicked six more, could be up to about eighty nine.
He's had a sneaky chance. Oh sorry, you are ninety one,
so he would have to So he's on eighty five
right now.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
No chance he gets it. Unfortunately, he kicked two goals
three again he just kicked if you kicked five.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
All in the first quarter too.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
I know he instead the dreams dead. Unfortunately, maybe next year,
he said. I am sad.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
I don't wanted to see the scenes of everyone on
Grand Final on It's still still could happen, it's still live.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
He could kick ten in the granny. That'll be sick.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
I hope not.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
I'm not against the Hawks.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Maybe we'll be paying him in a prelim win.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Lads, do you know what the ax means?

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Mate?

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Of course, And in fact i'll let Marcus explain.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Throw me under the bustle, yo, be honest, I have
no clue. What a surprise. It's actually the Australian Securities Exchange.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Well I'll speak for Marcus on that one and say
I'm pretty clueless with that stuff.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Well, lucky for you.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Stockhead is a free website which gives you punting stock
advice through the ax. Where can we check him out?
Check him out vice stockhead dot com dot you. There
we go, we'll get into this one. The first elimination
final Saturday at n G Stadium was Jedws Hawthorne JWS
thirteen goals ten the eight Hawthorne at sixteen goals eleven one,
one hundred and seven. Now, before we get into it
was a great game of footy, which we want to

(24:05):
touch on.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
But Marcus, we're gonna throw to you.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
You talked him up as the best team in footy,
the best team of all time.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
They're gonna make a.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Granny, They're gonna make a granny, They're gonna win the granny,
and they're gone. They're gone. What do you have to
say to the people out there? Apologize? I apologize?

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Look down the Cameron say, I'm Marcus Bizano. I'm a
big dumb idiot and I'm sorry, dang it, apologize for
being an idiot.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
I don't apologize.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
That's it. No, I still want to j W Wes.
They're a good team. They're a good footy team. They
did get beaten by the better team on the day,
though they've done it again.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
They've had all this hope and then the poor poor
boys I had to play at Entry Stadium and he
did his best flying pression.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Bubblegan Hogan has a come back under dune. No, let's
not get let's get into the game. They now, let's
get into the game.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
It was a fantastic game of footy and it was
a game of momentum, Swings and Hawks. They got their
first ever winner Energy Stadium on their ninth to ten.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
That's wild. That was great. Obviously, I think it was
five years ago where the most previous game at Energy
Stadium wasn't it, So they had a been while since
they played there, so it was a bit of a
misread stat But of course we'll make it look good
for us, so of course we'll say it. Yeah, it's
good for the Hawks as well.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Cecily mentioned it in his postgame press conference's postgame interview
on the ground as well. But it was the Giants
who actually started the game the better team. They were
twelve of the first fourteen inside fifties. But it was
just again similarly to Adelaide, to the start of the game,
it was just blazing away and kicking and that Hawks
defense who was so incredibly good all game just dealt

(25:49):
with it and it was a lapse of concentration and
awareness that just gifted Jian Newcomb the first goal of
the game from a fifty meter penalty, no one on
the mark. He just runs in forty five and says,
thank you very much, get much easier than that sets
the tone, and he had an unbelievable first quarter and
game in general. But his first quarter he had nine
disposals at one hundred percent, six score involvements and a goal.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Six go involvements in a quarter is mass from nine
disposal as well, ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
And he's just a big game player, and I know
the Hawks fans will know this, and he doesn't get
a lot of help in midfield there sometimes when when
Will Day's out, So if he's not having a good game,
then who else is setting up?

Speaker 2 (26:26):
But we know his big game play.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
He's played three finals games in his career and he's
had three best on grounds all by like that's obviously
of course by player ratings, player ratings, but still he's
just you want that man in your.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Side when it comes to finals footy, and hopefully you
can step up at Adelaide Oval against Adelaide next Friday night,
which we've said is going to be an absolutely reproved game.
And the Hawks they kicked four in a flash.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
And then the Jawants they formally got their first goal,
but it took sixteen inside fifties to get it.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
That's very unlike the Orange tunami there. Then the Hawks
defense had.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Up very well.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
It was very good. And then but it was the
third quarter where the game was sort of getting away
from them when Jack Innovan brought back to back goals
made the march forty two points.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Is that finals calling GWS did not pick up.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Oh but he almost he almost that almost come back
to ball.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
He was celebrating, you said in the group chat sale
You're like, I don't know what he's celebrating.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
He did hunger for some finals. Then he was answering
the phone.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
It's a bit of me meme.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Yeah, what are your thoughts on this? Because you said
you like it? No, it was great because obviously I
love it. Yeah, yeah, do any more of that? If?

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Yeah, we do. And if Hawthorne had gone on to lose,
he would have copped it and he would have I.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Think he's fine with that.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
If if we lose. He cops said, if you take
he's living life. He's enjoying life, man, and.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Like just even playing any type of he's enjoying life.
There we go. But he lifts the the hockball mentality
gets gold.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
When he does those clibrations. Everyone goes, oh, let's get
around him. Let's just keep playing one.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
So we had another strong game he did. That's the
thing like even in fow Fall News, he does back
it up. Three goals, seventy drop in the and now
he's dominated since Andy's been awesome.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
Yeah, that's probably the broady season. Back to life him
being dropped. But there was a so called supposedly two
three goal breeze in favor of the Hawks in that
third quarter, but it was the joints super six against
the wind, six in a row against the wind to
bring them within the chairs. One kick at three quarter
to on was the margin and it was actually Jesse.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
There were five of those goals. Sorry of the six
were from stoppagers.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
So we talked about that Hawks midfield, do they have
enough in there?

Speaker 2 (28:36):
And Liam, you've got a question that you would like
We've talked about this all year.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh because they won and
they want to get a very good wsteam. But do
the Hawks have a premiership worthy midfield? Like newcom could
just play out that for the rest of the finals
and they all right, but if he gets tagged, if
he gets tagged, it's going to be tough for the
rest of it. So they're not that premiership worthy midfield.
Or is the defense just good enough to hold up anywhay.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
No, it's not. It's not a premiership worthy midfield.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Ok. You needed day And to be honest that three
quarters time I was seeing if Zach Butters could get traded,
was like it was very nerve wracking signs because the
Giants midfield really got on top. As you mentioned the
stoppage goals and it was honestly came from the sub
I sure did.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
And that sub was Josh Kelly. Although when people when
Darcy Jones was coming off of people were like, oh, well,
even as a Hawful he was playing. Well, this is
a big blow because he is also like a little
bro when he kicked the great goal and he was
one of Gist's best early in the first half, emphasis
on the little but Josh Kelly came on and he

(29:37):
was absolutely seamless as well, coming back from injury, probably
on the sub and he had the highest rated finals
quarter by any GBS player in their club's short history,
So credit Josh Kelly. I think in that quarter he
had around about fourteen disposals, a goal, two goals, two goals, sorry,
and he was absolutely fantastic and it helped pave the
way for the Joints to hit the front early in

(29:59):
the term when Jesse Hogan or believe.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Brought them level level.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Yeah, and then they hit the front. But it was
all about the tactical changes from sam Mitchell because we questioned,
look whether it'll go with three or four tolls. They
went with the three. Shout out to you, Lea, because
you've absolutely called it. You wanted to see Butler in
the side for the tackle pressure and Mitch Lewis to
come out and.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
That's exactly what sam Mitchell did.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
He's a man of the people, seeing mist to me.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
And I questioned that a little bit. I thought it
was the right call. But when you persisted with four tolls.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
And then for the last month, month and a half
and then first game of finals, you're like, look, we're
changing it back to the three.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
I thought, yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
It is ballsy and credittor to Leo and seeing Mitchell
because I called it and they got over loan.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Because people say we're very old, they got the same.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Between us. We have four flags and over three hundred
games played at the level. So it's pretty and.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
One stellar stellar beard.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
Yes, I love it, and but it was it was
Butler who won the free kick for his pressure.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
He won a hole on the ball free kicking.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
He kicked a huge goal with eight minutes left on
the clock, and that just paved the momentum for.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
This man Marbo.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
He drops chesties, but he kicks match with MANI for
the moment and put on the cake and even it
was just like even the pressure to bump Sam Taylor
over the line and then and then pick it up
and have a snap.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
And Charles, if you know what you're expecting with charl
you'll enjoy him a lot. Exactly if you go into
the game thinking he's going to be Charles going to dominate,
he's going to kick five, you're going to get let down.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
He sent he sent Bay nine and three quarters in
the absolutely when he kicks the first goal and he
celebrates like he doesn't know where he is.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
He's like, did I just kick a goal?

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Was that a little bit of like Eric Canton like yeah, yeah,
look at me, like look what I just done. But
we talked about the Hawks defense this whole this whole
match review. Seriously, how good were they because jibiws they
won the inside fifty count by sixteen sixteen.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
That's seventy two inside fifty that's so many.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
That's a lot. And the Hawks back line like it's
it's so well balanced, barrass and battle like this is
why we recruited them.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Absolutely. I thought Scrimshaw was massive and hard.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
We keeps Toby Green goals and I probably should have
kicked one late Toby missed set shot, but hard, massive,
one on one plate.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
He could arguably one of the most underrated players.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Yeah, one hundred percent. You just know what you're going
to get out of him, and like he rarely gets beaten,
Like in his run was great.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Could go over eight.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
But overall though, like that last quarter when gw is
coming back, you're watching it going like the Hawthorne can
they can? They have enough to hold on and it
was a very impressive last quarter. I also want to
give another shout out to Sam Mitchell. Moving we all
forward with the provided a great contest for.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
The Swiss Army Knife.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Johshy Weather very very good and this was the second
longest final in history in terms of minutes of the
last century, which was it doesn't to talk about that one,
but I really I just wanted to keep going. It
was a buddy awesome game to give us another quarter.
That was absolutely awesome. And Leo, I don't think he's
going to sleep for the rest of the week.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
I haven't slept yet, I don't think. But how did
Saturday nights game even top that? That was absolutely The
finals this weekend were absolutely awesome. Add up to stadium
Saturday Night.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
The other elimination final, Freeman or Gold Coast Freeman or
twelve goal seven seventy nine defeated by one singular Andrew
Swallow point Gold Coast. Sorry David, get out, David.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
You ruined the moment. You ruined it. Gold Coast eleven eighty.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
They win by point the Suns, and it's three players
with finals experience, but they didn't show what a win
by the Suns.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
They've done it. Their first finals win for the Gold
Coast Suns blow the bloody trumpet. There we go. Dimmer mate,
just stay off Twitter, witch if you're listening. Dimmer with
excell legend, excellent rows and.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Took all elite.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
They were up for it early. We were worried that
they maybe were going to get jumped, but they just
said no, we're going to handle this moment with ease.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
They were the better side going forward.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
And you're honestly watching that game, if you had no
idea about AFL, you would have said Gold Coast have
played many finals, they know how to handle the moment.
But for a side playing the first final, that is
such an impressive victory, like you could not get better
than that. It doesn't matter that it's only a point,
doesn't matter that they almost choked it. The fact that

(34:33):
they get over the line away from home against that crowd,
against the Freo side that's playing great football.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Sixty thousand scream in the dockers.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Well a performance from the mighty Gold Coast sons and
Bailey Humphrey as well. Look only ten disposals, but he
really stepped up on the final stage. Three goals, nailed
his chances and sort of played into that that they
were the better side going forward free.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
On the other hand, they missed some gettable ones.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Sons did miss a few early on.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
But Frederick, oh, I know, yeah, yeah, learn Chinese mate
chief done. Still what I mean, you can't be dribbling
when you're what he was? He like ten meters out
like many kicked the phone. He was dribbling because he
was do you know where he was? What was he doing?

Speaker 3 (35:15):
What was he doing there? What was he doing? Look,
Freo really pushed hard late, which I look, I suspected
they would at three quarter a time. They've come back
from behind a lot this season at three quarter time,
which is different to last year where they couldn't they
couldn't hold a lead, So I thought three are going
to come here, they'll probably get the lead. And Luke
Jackson nailed the set shot late and you thought six

(35:35):
six points up? Did you guys have faith in their sons?
Like when Jackson kicks that guy where you're like, like
they've given up the bleeding, there's no way, right, No.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
I actually have faith, I said, I said it was
it was a dimmer of a long mirwer.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Sort of man in the in.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
The previous body has a lot more aura, Just so
you always believe you've got to believe it's finals footy.
Anything can happen, and it's not like we're your six
goals up and look the games virtually done.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
That's not futy anymore. Like six goals up can be
turned around in a flash, like in the GBS Hawthorne game.
So you've always got to keep faith true.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
And I thought the midfield Treo or Frio was really good,
like Saron winning clearances. Bracer and Young were really good too,
and Alex Pierce was massive down back, a lot of
clutch into that marks.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Especially in the last quarter exactly.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
I was watching it going like, there's no way sounds
in this, like Frio all over him here. But but
it was Matt and Andreu slung forward goal late court
Tracy Napping. What a moment that was.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
He was great, it was. He had a really good
all round game.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
Obviously he played back for most of it, but he
had twenty disposed of the eighty five percent efficiency, which
is what you want to see, five intercepts, a clutch goal.
I think a few people were critical sometimes he's one
on one or sometimes have a disposal efficiency or just
a few things over the year, but he did everything
and the goal just topped it off.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
He's probably the most clutch player in the competition behind
Jamie Elliott, just because he kicked one goal against Essendon.
I don't know what. I don't know what it.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
Is about like young players days, but they're all just
built for the moment.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Didn't know Sam McClure was on the on the show.
Mason Cox is the top three.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Run so he obviously nails the moment later to make
it even. And then it was David Swallow winning the
free and it was written in the stars for a
David Swallow kick to win the game. Kicked it through
the middle, but it was touched on replay. Honestly, the

(37:26):
it being touched was way worse. Was not for free
to end in nine seconds compared to send a bounce
like they should have said, Like you see the replay
that I can't remember what was with the I think
I touched it. If I'm so wrong, I'm going over there,
shut up.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
In the moment, you would one hundred percent be thinking,
oh we should take a point.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Yeah, they didn't probably.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Knows how long still though, nine seconds and to end
it was just never going to happen. Their sons the Sons.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Can they win the flag that they can't win them
can be brizy next week? No, I don't think so.
I don't believe that either.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
No, mate, they're going all the way.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
They're going all the way. Now.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
I think the experience is there. I think they've won
their first final ticket off. The AFI will be happy
because they finally want to find everyone so happy other
than the Freer fans. Obviously everyone's around the Suns, but
I think that's where it ends.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
What about the Sun day as well? I don't know
all West Coast fans.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
No, I knew a few people that were there there, Sons,
some Suns fans, they were going off.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I
think they get the job done.

Speaker 3 (38:29):
No, are we going to see a Collingwood Son's prelim
at the g where there's ninety five thousand Pies fans
or that.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Would be wild were going to rock up in some
sad gears.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
We have to anyone but Collingwood blood for those gold
cost fans, I know, yeah, Surando and look free are
they penciled this one? In the fair media was saying,
I know home final and easy win this one let's
give the Sun some credit. Come on, guys, what now
for free? Or on? Long you are?

Speaker 1 (38:57):
I reckon, We've got to do into this one because
we I think you guys long we are even earlier
in the season like, well, if they don't make the finals,
is he gone?

Speaker 2 (39:05):
That was the that was the question. I think that
was posed. They've lost the first one at home? Is
he gone?

Speaker 3 (39:09):
To bad losses?

Speaker 2 (39:10):
I think he's still around because they've had a good season,
but what do you guys? So I'm not sure I.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
Think you keep him because I think I don't have
contractsnsion this season.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Yeah, I don't have faith in him, but it's kind
of like they're a young side.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
I don't think he's the man though. I don't think
he's the man for them to win a Premiershire flag.
Mantle still on the backburn on.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
The back burner. Definitely there we go. Look they are
they are I think the fourth youngest side this season
by average age, so the window is opening. But it
is such a poor loss and they it's not like
a lot. Okay, it's a point, so you can go like,
oh they got by the way, were played by a
son's team that we all thought would be spooked. And
it's a very very poor loss.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
No good call, good call, and a sad way to
end for nat FIV. Obviously a legend, I think, one
of your favorite players of all time, one of my
favorite players of all time.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
Probably favorite non Hawks. Oh there you go, he'd.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Be up there.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Yeah, sad way to enter him because he's done it all.
It would have been nice if he could obviously get proper.
They weren't gonna win the flag, but it would have
been nice for a few finals.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
We were sad listening to him in the press conference saying,
I feel like he gave so he's content that he
gave his all for the club, which is obviously he did, and.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
He just got injured a lot of which would kill him.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
And he obviously didn't get the flag, which you know
would probably stay with him for a bit. But but
he's less a player.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
He's got them, he's got the Brownlow Medal, that the
Brownlow Medal.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Absolute champion of the game, and the signs. That's just
an awesome win, the first.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Finals win of their history.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
That's just absolutely awesome, and it's going to be I
can't believe your tip them already one hundred per finals mate,
so to go against them, they don't lose in the finals.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
That's all the matches of the round up finals at
week one, done and dusted. There, let's get into the
finals at bracket check obviously, the Giants and the Dockers.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Gonsky to you later later your giants, because I don't know,
maybe you're gone from the show.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Because there's always I was always text.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Finals record.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Yeah, this is what I.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Was saying to you every time you go, oh, they're
they're the best team in it. They don't do it
on the big sale.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
It again, even apologize. You've been a mug for the
last two months.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
So no, no, there's always next year. There's there's just
going to be bigger and better.

Speaker 3 (41:25):
You've been that much of a mug that you've gone
on punners as a mug punner. He's on that with
Campbell Brown by the way, shut up line to women.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
The Cats and pies. There through to another prelim.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
The experience takes over there and then for the semis
you've got the Chrome versus the Hawk. That is a
great semi final, two awesome teams and then a Q clash.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
It's like this is scripted.

Speaker 1 (41:52):
It's a Q clash zorco Verse two is going to
be absolute cinema. Get the popcorn out of the als rude.
That's another podcast. That's that's you can talk about that
empariracy today.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
There we go. Any other conspiracies. You got the moon landing?

Speaker 4 (42:07):
The moon landing, Yeah, you're definitely fa You're actually an
eighty year old man trapped in a.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
Yeah, fair enough.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
Let us know in the comments your conspiracies and if
the moon landing was fake.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
Yeah, I like that the first time you said let
us know in the comments conspiracy. Yeah, also let us know.
There we go. Tipping results have to talk about this.
I'll get mine out there. One of four, I didn't
put them in personally, but I probably I did what
I thought you would do. I say, in order to
bang on, I was fifty to fifty on Brisbane Gelong,

(42:38):
but probably would have leaned towards brisboees. I was one
of four that was tough.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
I put my stats guy brain on and I was like,
oh jeez, who am I going to tip this week?
Oh my god, Geelong?

Speaker 2 (42:48):
But I might go Brisbane, So you know I would
have said that. I said that I said that, and
you guys went too or four So because we went opposite,
I went opposite all four games. So there we go.
We're right as one equal person. That is very creepy
over there. There we go, let's get to the luck results.
What are you guys talking about? Everyone got a tick there,

(43:09):
so Leo is so wrong.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
Twenty plus had thirty five easy loft there my cars
with Field twenty plus.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
Then it was born with a football?

Speaker 3 (43:16):
What yeah, onto the show, mister Marian Wdfield thought she
was having twins, but it's just lucky Wedfield with the
football in his arms in.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
He doesn't have in her word. Sorry, sorry, there we go.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
Let's dishack that ass.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
And my mum was thriller two plus. I got pretty
nice by Leo. There he pulled that one in for me.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
He kicked too, so I reckon, I nice you with
the big call too, you.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Did, but I didn't ever get up.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
So my big call, let's get into the big call
results was Rainer twenty plus the spells and two plus dolls.
He had three goals, two gifted to him, so I
got very lucky third in the spell so I was
nowhere here on that one.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Then we had.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Marcus, We're going to go. Marcus had Tom Green fourteen
plus clearences. He was you're very close for the end
of the game of twelve twelve.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
And Leo, he's done it again in the last second
of the game.

Speaker 4 (44:05):
Leo, they're going to call him on a livestream too
as well. We were live for that calling Gamore and
he was up and about it was up and about.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
Four goals, four goals, tick four goals. But he kicked
it in the last like kicking the game as well.
So you did very well there. So there was no
goal in the last cold.

Speaker 4 (44:22):
I was like, it's not Look, is there any better
feeling when like a multi gets up or be cool
like that gets up in the last second.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
If your dad says he's proud of you, that's up there.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Happy Father's day, Gerald behind the camera. What a bad
father being away from of course, Gerald is an absolute
we are outgeous. He's looking after us instead father. All right,
let's get into the best on ground of the week.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
The man stresses about this more than the Hawks best
on ground of this.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
But I really wanted to give a few Hawks players
a vote, but stinking film one vote. F wits what
I like that work it out.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Sorry he's not giving him.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Twenty one disposals, fifteen contested possessions, eight clearances. I'm honestly
just putting him in there so Dimmer can just shut
up about people not giving him credit. Watch the show,
Jim Dimmer, Jim No, he was very good and I
thought watching that game, like the pressure he brought.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
He really led from the front as a as a captain.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Should two votes. Ja Degoi twenty six touches, one goal,
six clearances, seven tackles and really lifted when it was
asked for him to when the game.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Was on the line after just two in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
After just two in the first quarter. He was monumental
throughout the game. Three votes. Oh Dempsey cheat, three goals,
twenty five disposals he scored Levi Ashcroft. I'm giving him
the votes because well obviously three because he was very
impressive and in a night where Geelong really shared the

(46:07):
love and they it was a great team performance.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
He really stood out and was for me the most.

Speaker 3 (46:12):
Impressive player on the ground and probably my opinion, the
best team in the round. But we'll see what old
mate has to say.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
Little Sege their best team of around the most controversial
segment of this show.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
He's probably.

Speaker 3 (46:24):
In this, I swear to God.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
And because there's four games, right, we normally do a
three two one, but because of there's four games, it'll
be rude to leave one club out. So because he
doesn't want to leave, so we've gone, I've gone. I've
gone a five team vote system this time. Around five
he said four. No, of course, not the one vote.

Speaker 4 (46:45):
It does go to their opposition, though the Hawthorne who
vote one four just the one vote.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
For Hawthorne winners were very impressive because it's.

Speaker 4 (46:55):
Just because I thought you got to talk them up.
And I think just because even though obviously they had
moments where they thought it would come away from them
as well, Hawthorne. But it's not like round being left
with more questions and answers. I think it was just
the teams that were playing finals as well and got
the wins, where probably the wins felt like it they

(47:17):
were a bit more impressive. Fair enough, So for the
two votes, it's probably a little bit harsh.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
But when we go Collingwood, that's fair. I want to
go Colin. Yeah, because atmosphere Adelaide Oval Colin would have
plenty of fans out there. Incredible to them. They were
great as well.

Speaker 4 (47:31):
We probably didn't mention the Collingwood brigade obviously a lot
of them went up there and buses and they were great.
Fly gave them plenty of prayers as we talked about. Yes,
but that's a big win on the road when look
their form heading into the game wasn't great, but they
now make it eleven of the last twelve against Adelaide
they've won and another solid defensive display. The three votes

(47:51):
the second best team of the round going to go
to Golcos sons O.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
By the singular point.

Speaker 4 (47:59):
Again, the media and everyone was talking about this is
this is free tick, what's penciled in?

Speaker 2 (48:04):
But they weren't there.

Speaker 4 (48:05):
They showed them what it's all about. No finals experience.
Everyone was like, look, what's going to happen here? But
it was the man who was there since the time
of dawn, the ice age, the ice David Swallow.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
He was the one who kicked the first goal of
the game and he was the one to kick the
last behind of the game as well.

Speaker 4 (48:20):
Yes, it was written in the stars. So congratulations gold
Cos they get the three votes. Normally three votes means
it's the best team of the round four votes, four votes. Geelong,
the Gelong Football Club. They did it with these and
it was almost it almost looked effortless. And they're they're
our premiership favorites for a reason, so they're just going
to keep doing what they're doing and they get another

(48:41):
week off.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
I reckon with the team of the around this week.
I reckon you could have had any order and you
could justify it because every win.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
Was although it was close, did it pretty easy?

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Long Collingwood did it against a volatile crowd Hawthorne to
hold on late was so impressive. Sons in their first
final way like you can go wrong with that. Gws
in there.

Speaker 1 (49:02):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
