be going up, yeah, mate, of course, yeah, of course.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Obviously on today's show we're going to cover a lot.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
As I just mentioned at the top, We're going to
have a bit of a debate between you two that
could get a bit of fifty cuffs. I reckon got
the best bit of it doesn't get him fights. He's
from the I love it. Well, okay, enough from you, Jesus.
The best current players in the game we're going to
go through, so they still be battling out for their
three best players in the game. Was going to have

(01:09):
a look at the best an Zac Day moments. Obviously
it's an Zac Day on Friday, the traditional match between
Collingwood and Essendon.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
We've got the midweek winners and losers.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
There's a lot in the news in the AFL at
the moment, so we'll cover a bit of that, and
of course the Thursday night footy preview Melbourne Verse Richmond
at the MCG absolute blockbuster. What is it sixteenth verse
seventeenth or something fifteenth verst sixteenth, both coming off a
win form sides of the competition form sides of the
competition exactly right. Make sure you follow us on AFL

(01:39):
It is Aussie Rules Today and the subscribers markets. We
want us to get on the YouTube and subscribe please,
that's AFL Today's show.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Have you got the subscribe account up for us? Probably?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, I'll do right, soft count is six point four okay,
thixo point four, so getting there, getting there, but we
want to try and hit seven by.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
The end of the round.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Very nice and make sure you check out our social
media Later today we've got this week's Yehna Questions brought
to you by NRB. We go through the best players
and a few brotherly debates between Leo and I, which
is really good fun. All right, let's get into the
show midweek winners and losers that we always do on
the midwek Madness Show. Winners will start off with the winners.
Do you want to go through the winners, Marcus, and

(02:19):
then Lea can go through the I.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Think the dogs in general, both on the field and
off the field as well.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Bot looks like you set to stay as as you would.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
You've just come back from injury, had an excellent game
thirty and two, and obviously the fans must be happy
because that had a pretty good performance on the weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yeah, yeah, they'll be up and about. And I don't
think Bomb was ever gonna leave. Well, it's always a
free agent.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
He's a free agent, so when he hasn't signed his contract,
everyone goes or he might go to them. There was
rumors that the Eagles after him and the Pies, but
like everyone in the competition would want the bond. So
I don't know what And of course he is like
that one man club. Would you agree, like, yeah, for sure, yep, Well,
I mean he does.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
He has already won a flag, yess, albeit it was
early in his career. But the only thing he really
hasn't achieved is a personal Give him the Brown.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I feel he wouldn't care, but fans in general, even
neutral fans, i'd care if I would you a bit
of disrespect.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
He should have won a.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Brown hundred percent?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Is he the best player right now that hasn't won
a Brown?

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Best player of all times? Everyone around that that.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Hasn't won a Brown.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
No, it could be that hasn't won a Brown, though
he could be one of the best.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
He'll probably be up there. That could be next week's debate,
who are the best players? Not with a Brown? I
like it?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
There we go debate and more just a chat. I'll
put lost dos what don't we have both made?

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Argue about it?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I can I can get if you want me to, I.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Reckon you will later at the show with the debate.
Other winners please the Tigs.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yes, only enough.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
They've got the next five games at the MCG. Perfect
for Noah Bolta means he doesn't have to go into state.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
That's true. Yeah, we'll touch on that, which will touch on.
But they got the next five of the mc G.
Should be rocking up and actually they're gonna win. Decent
crowd because they do have a they're playing good footy
and they are a genuine chance of winning some of
these games.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
They will win four of these games four of the next.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Are you all right?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Look at who are they playing?

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Okay, let's go through it. Melbourne win.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Win, pessimistic hog fan, the West Coast hopefully West Coast win,
North win.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Jeez, that Essendon win. They're not just be Gold Coast.
Gold Coast are better than absolutely dream time. They will
be up.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
And they could win four of those games.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
They genuinely could.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I genuinely believe that they could win four games there.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yeah, will you be tipping them four times?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Well, you'll have to find out.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah, the audience we have to stick around, have to subscribe.
All right, there we go. That's the winners. Let's go
through the losers, please.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Conn and Ash. He's a big loser is straight to
the tribunal, So.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
At least four weeks the AFL I hope, Yeah, I
think four fours probably right, I'd say just not needed careless.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Yeah, we chatted about it on the Sunday Show. Go
check that out if you haven't already. Yep. But Lee
Matthews I think raised the idea of a sendoff rule
for it. I think I'm against that because it's just
adding another layer of complexity that to the umpire is
going to add it. Like, yeah, if it's the umpires
or another like third body that has to.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Review it, should that serve as a one game suspension
if like, if they eventually say put a nationalst four weeks,
if he was to be subbed out early in that
game for that clash it.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Gets rid of a week, then yeah, No, that's one game.
I don't know because he's already like played, he's already
gone out on the ground.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
I agree with Leo in the fact that the umpires
have so much to worry about, But is it the
umpires that are going to do it?

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Are you saying like a third.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Party even if it isn't the umpires, it's just going
to add another layer of fans going like that shouldn't
have been he shouldn't have been sent off for that.
It's going to create more debate, more argument, and I
just I don't know like he's going to his punishment
is the for week I agree all the five.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
But we have it with of emergency umpires. Multiple emergency
umpires sit on the bench and do not much, being
to be their job to decide that good.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Are they qualified?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
I assume so because they'd have to fill in and
umpire the game.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Should we have a send off rule on this show,
like you've already sent off Alex this Marcus was off
over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
But uh, and then there was only two of us
on this choice by choice, by choice?

Speaker 4 (06:29):
That doesn't make it for you?

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Well you mean not by choice, not by not by choice.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
I was to come, yeah, now you were sick, that's right?
The other losers please later another.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Another one, Noel Bolter obviously, you know as everyone does
place a day night court Tuesday was like half the
idiot felt yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I reckon Marcus when he got back from gather around.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
So the results of that were a curfew from ten
pm to six am. So we can't play any night
games and no dream time. But he'll be playing most
of those other games because Richmond don't have too many
night games.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
I don't think, no, but they have some like afternoon
games or like things.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
You'll have to rush home for a bit of a
weird one.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
If he plays thirty twenty, he could be home by seven.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah, he gets subbed out in the third quarter three
quarter time, and then he's got an extra half.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Imagine subbed out, true, subbed out for curfew.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I don't know if this is true, but there were
like Richmond fans calling up who live near the g
going like he can just stay at mine, so like
he could get I'm pretty sure it's not our cur that.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Doesn't have a home address, that he is registered that
he has to be.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Probably probably, And I think on the AFL injury list.
I think it's a Noah Balter curfew.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
It does. I checked it back.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
It's very weird. But yeah, he's a loser.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
He definitely is a loser, and I think he got
off a bit lightly there, but at least that's a
bit of a hindrance and hopefully he learns learns from that.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
All Right, we've gone through the midweek winners and losers,
so fast over the midweek madness. Now we've got a
new concept on the show they're going to try out today.
These two will be going head to head for the
best current players the one we're going to start.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
But we've got the same play, like we can pick
the same players, you know what I mean, it's not
really it's not like a draft.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
It's not like it's a draft. You want to No,
I don't want a draft. I just want to hear
all right if you always do that anyway, But the
best current players in the game. So top three, So
we'll go from three to one, so you yeah, I
don't know, some people might go one to three. We'll
go three to one and we'll start with Orleo.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Please, So you want my three to two one or
you on your.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Three and then your two you're one my three.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
I'm going with Sam Taylor from GWS, the third best
in the league. That is that is a always look
at things and I'm saying we like footy media, yep,
like midfielders, midfielders midfielders. Sam Taylor is the best key
defender in the game. So I think agreed that puts
him at the top echelon, and I think what he
does for GWS, it's not only is one on one work,

(08:58):
which is phenomenal. He can always only just spoil. He's
great on the lead, he's great in a in a jewel,
He's a great intercept marker. He does enough with the ball.
He's he's the best key defender. And I think he's
worthy of a spot in the top three.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Top three though that's that's before the show that his
career as well.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
We got taken to a.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Yeah, it's on career, but I think, wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
You pick someone like a Harris Andrews. I think, and
that's a team award.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
True, true, he's gone more individual, But I know what
I'm leaning towards Marcus. If I'm if I'm the adjudicator here.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
Haven't even my number three Andrews is better than Sam Taylor.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
No, I'm not saying that.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
I think as a player.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
This is while we've opened up a can of worms,
including career.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, it's it's it's best players right now, our best
players this season. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
If if Leo's just argument is that the defenders, which
I agree a side for me, No, but he's in
there under right, we always look at that. Don't get
Brownlow votes for some stupid reason. There should be a
Golden Fist Award at the Brownlaw Knight in my opinion, wouldn't.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Name it that, but that sounds. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
It's been a you know what, the gold Awards. Great award,
but you.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Want to change it up, maybe call it like the
Danny Fawley Award. We could do that, all right.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
That's his number.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
I don't mind.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
That's a rogue check.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
You're probably the first person on camera to say that
Sam Dallery is the third best player in the AFL.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yeah, I feel I like that. Marcus, what's your number?

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Three?

Speaker 1 (10:27):
It rhymes with ferret. He doesn't play like one.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Jackson.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
This is this is for judging Korea into account.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
He's the only player since twenty sixteen to to poll
ten plus Brownlow votes every season.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
I thought you won't bring.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
The head god. So you're talking about consistency and quality
of a long term period of time.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
I think he's been playing this style of.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Footy for the better part of five years consistently.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Is just now getting noticed for it. I don't know why.
I think it's because he's kicking more goals, possibly.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Around the he goes, oh, he's so much better now
because he kicks goals, like, well, that's true.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yeah, but he has kick goals previously, and he just
seems to be getting better and better every year, which
he's starting to hit that age where you might see
that decline.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
But he's just how old is he now?

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Twenty nine? He's still he's a little man. Yeah, he
could play for another decade by the looks of it.
The Bombers designed him til he's forty.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I think he has a bigger impact on Essendon than
maybe perhaps other midfielders do for their respective clubs.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Miss we miss.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I think I think that says more about the club
than the individual, because you could, true, you could have
said that about a few players, like you could say
that about Norse players.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
But well, I still have zach Merres possibly like easily
top three, top five best kicks.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
In the competent.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Yeah, for sure, I agree, And I said on Thursday Show,
I think he's still very underrated. I'd have him probably
in the top five to seven players. To be honest,
we could get crucified for this people, but.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I'm just had to he's give it, doesn't he doesn't
get the appreciation that.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
He does just as a neutral or non bias. I'm
just looking at you too. We've got Sam Taylor and
Zach Merrier in our top three. This is love. It
is a great start. This is this is an absolutely
awesome stuff.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
So good.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
And he brought some stats now gets and knowledge. You
just don't I feel like, are we going to have
the same too? Here? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (12:29):
We will.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
That's the problem, You'll have the same too. You reckon?

Speaker 2 (12:32):
All right, Marcus can go first this time, because do
you want to just we'll keep it in the same model.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Number two. Who's your number two? Please?

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Nick Deakos the second best player in the competition? That's
Is it controversial? Oh he doesn't? All right?

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Originally originally had Dacos three, but you know what, I
had to include my boys there.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
He's something.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
No, it's not being wrong. I'm just saying you wanted
to include career in this.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Nick cases just he's so good to watch.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
I'm not I'm not saying he's not by the way,
I'm going to get roasted, but I'm not saying he's
not in the best three players.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
No, right now, he would he was in my three.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
But I'm not hating on the pick.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
That's what I'm trying to just say right now, is
your fourth because he's not in your top three.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
He just said he was allowing a fourth.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
I'm just saying, I'm just saying he's not in your
top three.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Don't let him off.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
That's we need some chest with what you're saying. Please, sir,
this man is using that, but you aren't right now.
Number two Patrick Cripps.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
I think he's a bit.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
He's not even the best player on the team. He's
not the best of the team this season.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Magic calling Patrick.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
He just won a Brownlow? Should he have won that? True?

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Nevertheless, we've got to look back in the issue books
and say that he has won two Brownlow medals and
we could also say where would Carlton be without Patrick Cripps.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
He just shows, sorry to cut you off the Brownlows. Obviously,
fantastic achievement. So if we're talking as a player.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Was he five times all Australian?

Speaker 2 (14:04):
No?

Speaker 4 (14:04):
No, But we're talking forget the achievements. We're talking as
a player here. So he is a fantastic contested inside player,
probably one of the best in the competition. He is
not a well rounded player. He doesn't do anything on
the outside like he's not he's not a he's not
a gut runner.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
But you look at it, you look at us.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Decos is a gut runner.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Dacos, but he hasn't taken a contested mark his entire career.
Is he meant to? He does the inside stuff.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
I think for someone if he's a top two player,
I think he has to be. Yeah, I think Dakos
is equally on the inside as he does on the outside.
I think Crips is all inside. And that's not a
disrespect to Crips. Crips is that that's his, that's his,
and that's.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
He put him in two because he's a great player.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
He's a great player and my fourth.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
I think I think he's probably my top five or
six cripper. He would, but I think Dacos right now
has to.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Be above cripple. And I can see that.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
But because it's he's still so early in his career, course, yeah,
it's it's probably it's probably detriment. That's why I didn't
put him in this list. He could definitely be in
this list. But if you say career into account, I
know two Brown, those five Holls or five all Australians player.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
You're talking about overall game.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
I agree with Leo that the overall game of Nacos
is a bit is a bit better, but cripper the
Accolades is a tough one.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
But I'll give that. I'm getting points here. I don't know.
I'm getting point to Leach because I think has to
be in your top three. I don't care where it is.
Has to be in there somewhere.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
All Right, I think we've got the same number one,
and if we don't, this is if.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
We If you guys don't have the same number one
as as myself as well, then you're off the show.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Should we say it at the same time? All right?

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Ready? Three two one? Todd Goldstein, Sorry, Todd Goldstein is
one of the.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Best legacy game No, I'm going to go Bulldog's legend,
Jack McCray, he is no anyway. Who's your number one?

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Yeah, Bond, I was talking about inside outside. Bond does
both of that, and it's hard to put Dekos below him,
I think. But my reasoning is BoNT has a bigger
impact on games and gets a similar stat line to
Nick or close to the nixtat line. It's his output
is ridiculous. You see what he does when he comes

(16:24):
back for one game, what thirty and two nbelievable. He's
probably going to play maybe a bit more forward with
Darcy out as well, and I just think, yeah, like
you can chuck him forward.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
You can't really do that with Dekos, Like you can't
put against gets goals running through the middle.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Are You're not. It's also because he's smaller, likes dangerous
in the air. On the ground, you could probably play
him in any position on the ground and you could
actually good. But he could he could be He could
be a top ten full back if you put in
there right now, as you said, like that.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
It does it on the ground, the clinches on the
outside from stoppage, general play on the run the leader
one on one. But do we like Bond with long
hair short hair? He plays better with the long hair.
He's just plays better the long hair. But on a
short short hair man s King, Yep, he's just a
handsome man.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
So we're all in agreement on number one now, But
there was a bit of controversy on the other two.
But we're all in agreement on number one. The Bond
is the best player in the game right now. AFL
today just knows what it is.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
We just fixed it.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
We fixed the If we have not fixed the AFL,
the net.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
I think if we're going to fix the AFL, we
need to have a meeting with the umpires or the
umpire whoever runs the umpires.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Yeah, it would be hard to keep out cool. Yeah,
I know. Actually the umpires are fine.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
It's the AFLs are interpretation of rules and all that crap. Yeah,
it's not the umpires. We didn't fix the ANFL, not yet.
We will by the end of this season. We will
fix the AFL.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
All right.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
That's the best current players in the game. Right now,
let's get a look before Friday, because the big Anzac
Day game. A few of us will be going to
that game. The best an Zac Day moments of all time, lads,
so obviously Marcus B. Bombers Man, I already know which
one he's going to say, Leo, big hater, big hater exactly.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
I believe what he's put in the run sheet.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
By the way.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
That is just I was thinking he had something else
he wanted to Yeah, I had something else, And then
I realized it wasn't that day that it happened and
it wasn't Jamie Elliotts. Yeah, it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Anyway, Lea, what's your best?

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Actually, know, we've always started with Leta and Marcus actually
has a good thing in the run Marcus actually has
a good thing in the run sheet, So let's start
with him.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
What's your best? Anti day?

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Even my like, what is it? My token shout is
better than Leo's actual shout?

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Yeah, both of them.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
After you, Uh, David Arcs in the rain? Yeah, we
needed two three goals in the last three minutes.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
It was just a baby boy, right, how old?

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah? It was his first season. It was his first season. Yeah,
oh and I think that was yep, that goal.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
So that is literally shown in every AFIL highlights package,
the exact day highlights package. It's just one of those
moments that will be around forever and luckily enough Essenon
were on the right side of it.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
I remember that half the Essendon fans had already left.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
There was a lot of Vesendon fans and then I
know that were on the train listening to it on
the radio, watching it on their phones and do anything.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
You can watch it on your phone, make then, but
they were listening to it on the radio.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
On the train and all these there's a video of
Essendon fans cheering on the train. Stay out of the game.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
You never leave early, especially if it's pretty close. It
was in the worst Ship when Jeda missed that open goal.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Yes, in the wet you're like, oh, it's done, and
then Ricky Dyson from the boundary.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
And then.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
And then the commentary over like all the different things there,
So that was there's a hierarchis moment.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
There was the pt going. It's absolutely busen out of
the g like, there's just so many iconic moments for
that night. I love it.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
It has to be the best. I think it is
the best antac Day moment. But What's Your mid has a.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Lot of good an Day moments for both sides. It
has what's another moment?

Speaker 4 (19:56):
One of them for the Pies in twenty twenty three,
seven goal last quarter. What a moment this was? How
good was this? This is the birth of Nick Daikos.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Forty disposals, two goals.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
He was sensational and at three courts you're just a
bit rattled because you lost this game.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Most likely three quarters seven gold quarter is not one
of the best moments.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Three quarter time you're up by twenty eight points. Yeah,
he happened about Frampton kicks a goal to start the
last quarter. Then do you remember Big Sammy Wiedeman missed
the chance he did, It's terrible, and then the pie
just went on a tear. Dekos kicks two, Ginevan got one.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
I can think of better Collingwood moments.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
Am Well Satsky. I think is going to bring up
one that I also had on the mind.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, I can't now if you want, I think it's
got to be Fats one Daints one when he got
caught a little fat man by some AFL media and
then he comes out with forty two disposals, three goals.
He got that goal on the boundary with he left foot.
He rubs his tummy. He's an absolute legend.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Dance one.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
I don't think anyone should have ever questioned. I don't
care what routine he's doing off the field when he
jumped on the field. He's one of the best players
of all time, So I don't know why people were
questioning him, but that I think, Well, I'm trying to
remember what year that was happening.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Yeah, it might have been twenty eleven. Actually, that's a
random years.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
I think you're right, and it was a really really
close game against the Bombers and he got him over
the line.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
But forty two and three goals.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
After getting cold fact descend, Shut up AFL media, I'll
just dominate.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Well, if my one was an Essendon winning Inxact Day goal,
I've got to a shout out for Jared Blair as well.
Twenty twelve, Yes, just just escaped his knee, sockered it through.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
And that they end up winning by a couple of points.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Completely.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
The other one was the original Anzact game.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yes, you can talk about that if Oh no, it
was the inaugural Axact Day game ninety ninety five ended
in a draw.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
One hundred and eleven point draw. That's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Sad Rocket kicked nine nine sad Rog and North Legend
as well. I love save Rocket top it from the middle.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Oh, I think it just had to be a draw,
didn't it that game? Maybe it was st What about
the draw last year?

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Is that going to shout out? That is one of
the worst game.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
I've blocked that out of my memory. That was one
of the worst games.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Like Easter Monday, both teams are trying to lose it
all right now.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Easter Monday had some exciting moments.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Yeah, like when the guy punched the other guy. That
that's what you said.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
No, that was I was having an anurism. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
You two will you you would punch Marcus?

Speaker 4 (22:20):
No punch you?

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Oh that's rude.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Anyway, that's the best Anzac Day moment. Is going to
have a big Anzac Day preview on our Thursday night
team show, which will be out Friday morning, which would
be very exciting on an Zac Day.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Lads.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Let's finish off with the Thursday night footy preview Melbourne
versus Richmond Thursday Night, seven thirty at the mc G.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
They're coming off wins, Marcus today they couldn't Richmond.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Richmond just beat Gold Coasts at Dimmer's favorite stadium, Marble. Yeah,
Melbourne coming off a win. They finally got over one
hundred points. Petty kick four goals, Cosey kick five. Petty
kicking four goals on you, by the way, if you
if your team's getting petty, that doesn't make sense getting petty,
getting petty.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
If your is getting petty, if Petty is kicking four goals.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
On your team, yeah, to lete your club don't ever
cry about it though, who you I'm not crying about
it's or petty for that matter.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
He's not going to kick four goals and you've probably
kicked six.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
True, Now we'd core playing on him. He won't, but
he'll have who actually who will be on him.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
It doesn't matter because you'll still kick goals.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
But we're talking about this weekend.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
It won't be no Bolter, that's true because this is
the past his curfew.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Lad.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
So we've got Melbourne lead this fixture six and three
old time in the Antac day Eve clash.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Yeah. What do we think about this one? And how's
it going to go?

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Yeah? I think this will be a very there's one
word to describe this game football scrappy. I agree this
would be scrappy. I don't know how the weather's meant
to just checked.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
Before twenty four and sunny all day, so it'll be
around me beautiful, very nice. Is gonna be pissing down.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Lovely at the jar. I still think this would be scrappy.
Like Tigers feed off a bit of chaos with the
young guys they got in there Melbourne. They love missing
targets inside fifty apart from last week. We'll see what happens.
I think Tigers defensively have some good matchups for the
D's forwards. You got Boston down there, you got Broad
You know, these guys could probably take Patty Cosey the

(24:11):
taller they play smaller.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
So true, that's a good that's a good point.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Yeah, I know there's there's positive signs for both clubs
in this one. Obviously, back off getting wins last weekend.
Both upsets.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
I'd say Richmond's was obviously the bigger upset because they
hadn't won it Marvel in their previous nine to that game,
but they returned to the g. This is the type
This is the type of game where both clubs should
be up for it no matter what. I wouldn't a
big crowd. Honestly, this could go right down to the
world the last kick of the game. It genuinely could

(24:45):
back in a kick after the Saren.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Some was actually thinking you'll get a free kick or something,
Stephen May will give it away or something. Just punch hm.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yes, Stephen May is reportedly going to be back.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
So the teams haven't come out yet as we're recording this,
but he's reportedly to huge.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
What do you do? I think Melbourne was more of
a statement call when they dropped Van Ruyd and Fridge.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
You keep him out, You keep.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Him out or do you bring them back in there?

Speaker 4 (25:07):
You keep that have the best stat lines in VFL
either if you saw, but I haven't seen.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
You're a big VFL man.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
I love VFL.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
VFL is very underrated going to a VFL game, is it?

Speaker 4 (25:18):
It is?

Speaker 1 (25:18):
It's very good, like just walking out onto the ground
and going around the huddle quarters three, quarter time. It's
old school footy vibes. It is.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
It's very bring it back on ABE very good?

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Was it on ABC?

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Channel seven at that night?

Speaker 4 (25:31):
But ABC?

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Fair enough enough, nostalgia fair enough. There's a few more
stats in this one. Tigers have actually lost eleven of
their last twelve of the MCG. The Ds have won
the last five meetings, including the last four Anti Day
Eve clashes. Now, lads, this is seventeenth verse sixteenth in
offense in the league. Going ahead to Eddie, do you
think this is going to be like you said later,
scrap and really loves.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
Going one hundred percent. I think both teams might struggle
to kick seventy.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I think yeah, because the D's kicked one hundred and seven.
But Freeo, we're playing pretty attacking footy.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Whereas you get Stephen mayback that's going to help their
defense and the Tigers were really strong defensively last week.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Yeah, the D's are interesting as well, like you look
at when they play Frio Frio obviously, aside that they
probably prefer it on the outside in terms of how
they want to move the ball. That might have suited
Melbourne a lot more in terms of, hey, we can
just sort of counterattack here and go forward and just
sort of play into that a bit more playing to

(26:29):
how the other team's playing, and it worked for the
look when they played Essendon. Essendon's strength, I would argue
is their clearance work, their inside stuff. Melbourne hate that,
Like I don't hate it, but they can't. Really they're
the ones to make the first move correct, you know
what I'm trying to say, Like Freo made the first move.
Melbourne are like, oh, let's just retaliate off that. Essendon
are like, now we'll let Melbourne go forward because they'll

(26:50):
stuff up and then we'll go So I think that's
why Richmond are very much in this game, Melbourne kind
of maybe play to the level of who they're playing
kind of thing, because the better teams will try and
force something or try and make the first move, whereas
the weaker teams might not.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Yeah, you should be something in there that I've just said.
You're cooking nuggets and know who do you think you're
going to be the stand up players?

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Though?

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Well, I've got some stats for your for once.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
We've got Clari has had thirty plus disposals in his
last four home games against Richmond. You averages thirty two
disposals in this antac day E've clashed though you've got
the frank checker Hughes Medal.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Ye. I think he's wanted a couple of times remembering that. Yeah, well,
I wouldn't have been able to tell you. I may
may not have looked it up before the show started,
but that's right.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
And then Seth Campbell's kicked two plus in five of
his last six games.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
He was cooking up a few celebrations. I like that.
I like the cut of his jib. As Leo would
say of Seth Campbell, did you did you know he's
the thirty second highest ranked player.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
He's up there.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah, oh in the competition, that's wild.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
He's just the little sneaky guy that man he is.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
He is.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
So who do you think is going to get the
best on ground medal in this one?

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Before we get to the tip and thought about that,
Actually we'll think about now you go first Pacers.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
Ah, well, I haven't even thought about it.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
This is you go Nick Boston back to back, back
to back best on ground performances. He was sensational against
the Suns and maybe Taranta would have got best time.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
I think Boston would have.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Boston was out there. I think just the way as
I said, if it's a scrap Melbourne get those hat
kicks inside fifty, it's going to be cherry pickings for
Boston all night. So I wouldn't be surprised if we
saw twenty disposals and marks. Half of those are into
set marks and plays an important role for a Tiger's
potential win.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
That's I don't know about that best on ground I.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
Might be leaning the other way just so I'll go
on Malbourne player. I'll go Cozy, Cozy, biggest thing he's
been threatening all year. He finally had finally had that
game last week with what when you have twenty four
and five. Yeah, like that, someone like that all Petraco
who can chip him with the goals as well as
you know, have an impact in the middle of the ground.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
I think those two are probably leading the way for me.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
Richmond don't really have a match up for Cozy too,
like the.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Smaller, small someone predictable with such a so energetic, I
can see him causing a few headaches.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Yeah, I'm going to go Clarry. He's going to prove
to everyone that he's still absolute. I was going to
say I was going to say Cozy. I was gonna
say Cozy, but I'm going.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
To say say that in hindsight, I was going to
say that guy.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
I love Cozy.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
I've got to be my best on Groun last week.
But I'll say Clary because everyone's saying he's on the comeback,
but he needs.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
To just lift a little bit more. I wanted to
see Hi hit the scoreboard.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
I reckon he hit the score bond in this one,
and he loves playing against the Tigers, so he'll get
the medal.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
In the matchup.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
I want to see Gorn versus nank Oh, two big
boys that'll be very huge. I think Nan Curves is
very underrated. Gorn had an incredible game last week as well.
We almost had disposal twenty eight and ten clearance eighteen contested.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Twelve score involvements, just did a bit of everything.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
There we go, all right, tips and margin to finished
the show lads or the Thursday night clash, Leo, I
can't believe you're doing this, but you're doing it.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
I think Richmond win this lad six points. Really yeah,
I do. I back him in.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
I don't hate it, I don't.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
I think Melbourne will play to the level of the
opposition and I think that suits Richmond more. And they'll
have some of the young guys feed off some energy.
Lawla will be up and about. Yep, you got as
you mentioned, Seth.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
What's the celebration going to be this week?

Speaker 4 (30:24):
I'd love to see another backflip. Yes, that'll be good.
Maybe like a backflip into a handstand or something.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
It's not a gymnast.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
They don't doubt him.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Maybe he could extravagant for me, just do the he
could do.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
The Yeah, I could see him doing that.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Yeah. So yeah, I just think maybe sleeps oh maybe
maybe that would definitely get meaned up that would probably Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
I just think the young Tigers get this done. I'll
back him in. Wow, I'll win three games after seven
rounds of football.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
When people say they're not going to win one, they're
over under for the season was one and a half.
I think and a half. But still I think I
backed them for two or three.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
I think that can win four of the next five.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
That's great, that's unreal. He's got his Port top one,
he's got his Richmond top on.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
Don't get he started on Port.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Those wins might as well come here. But I'm going
to go Melbourne. Yeah, yeah, by a kick.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Four points, four points. I'm going to go the D's
by nineteen.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
I think.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
I know that they haven't been playing well, but they're
just going to get their seasons slightly back on track
from last week. I think they can back it up.
It's going to be really close the big occasion of
the Anzac Day Eve. So yeah, D's by nineteen. I
think they've got too many good players that Richmond just
don't have.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
If D's jump them, then it could be ugly. I
don't think it could be ugly, but I think they
could jump them and then just hold the lead the
whole game, especially with.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
May Back as well in the general. That defense very
very nice.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
