Speaker 2 (00:23):
Welcome back to another episode about My Bad Mom podcast.
I'm wearing activewear again today.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
So am I.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
This is semi activewear, leisure where, active leisure where or
whatever it is. So you just.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Basically you look like you're being active but not. Yeah,
that has been my day.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Well. I wasn't planning on seeing anyone today.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
I was not planning on doing a podcast, So that's
why I was like, yeah, I can do a podcast,
probably not looking my one hundred percent today or sounding
like it, but I'm there.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
I'm here for the vibes.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Guys, I had moum for causing a scene.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
The girls on the weekend last.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Minute went to a concert at the Entertainment Center.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
So they got a message from their friend. They had
speed tickets, would you like to come? This particular friend
got free tickets so they didn't have to pay for them,
which was lovely.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Because it's an artist I don't even know. The artist
was started with a T.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Tyler.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
That's Tyler, the creator, the creator, no idea anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
They don't really care who the artist is. They just
are massive fans of live music.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
At the moment, I get it, but I don't like
I love music genres, different music genres.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
But like if you said to me, hey, do you
want to go and see corn tomorrow? I would go.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Fuck no, I'd rather sleep my night away, Like there's
not one part of me.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Where's your girls were like, yeah, rach I.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Didn't go to Madonna because she was on too late.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, I know, I remember that she wasn't coming on
to like one am though. God yeah, I think, yeah,
only are you blowing up about that? And then there
was a big thing about.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
It, Yeah, because she was supposed to be and she
was just hours late. Anyway, Anyway, the girls are massive
fans of live music. They got to go to this concert.
That was exciting. They got dressed super fast. This was
like Saturday evening at like five o'clock, and so then
they were dressed and ready to go.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Jay dropped them off.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
All good, and now I said to them, you're going
to need to get.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
An uber home because Saturday night, I don't know what
time it's going to finish.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
We're going to have a few wines, Like yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Just jumping an uber. I thought about the logistics of
ubers after a concert finishes, and it's a pain in
the ass and I didn't want that to end up
being my pain in the ass, and so I just said,
jump in a taxi. Just join the taxi line, and
then jump in a taxi. Just a side note, Rach,
they decided not to take a jacket, and it was feels.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Like, yeah, it was grease, Yeah it was meant to.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, on Saturday night, they've got in the taxi rate.
And first of all, it took them like an hour.
They didn't get in a taxi until midnight.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Sucks.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
And so obviously I stayed up because that's what you
have to do. And I said, let me know when
you're close and I'll come out and pay for the taxi.
And then Holly goes, oh, no, we've already paid. Well,
what do you mean we've already paid. He made us
pay before.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
We got in.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I was like, what in schemers?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeap, he made us pay before we got in. And
then because it was a maxicab, he also took the
people behind us in the line because they were going
close to where the girls were going, so he took
all of them like two different peace.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
He's broken every rule that possible. Yeah, do you know
how much do you charge them?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
And just to give some context, nine kilometers from our house, right,
it was going nine k's. It took fifteen minute. It's
guess how much he charged them eighty five. He charged
them sixty nine dollars, and then he charged the other
group of people who were going to the same area fifty.

(04:16):
He got one hundred and twenty dollars for a nine
kilometer trip.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Yeah, off the grid too, straight in his pocket and
nothing through the taxi.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
I was so angry, Like when she told me that
he had already taken the money. I then checked.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
I have access to their accounts.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
It's all on the same app with my own, and
I could see how much had come out of Holly's account,
And I was like, you've got two sixteen year olds.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
He doesn't care.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
How about the fucking morals you charged that much money.
They've never got a taxi before age like they know ubers,
like they're in an uber era. You've never gotten a taxi.
They didn't know not to pay up front. They just
did what he asked them to.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yeah, and so he's praying on yeah, one hundred pers aren't.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Gonna say, well, I'll tell you what he wasn't praying
on the fact that I was going to storm out
of there after a few wines in my pajamas, and
I give him, yeah, did you peace my mind?

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I did good. And we were the other people in
the car.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
No, the other people had been dropped off first. The
girls ran inside because they knew because I had told.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Him on the phone.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I was like, put it on speaker phone. I want
to speak to the driver and they were like no, mom,
and so I went, okay, Well when he gets there,
you go inside and I'm going to have a word
with him.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Oh raight. I can't even.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Remember, oh my god, but I do remember him going
here you go and handed me over twenty dollars in cash,
and I was like, no, you've charged us sixty nine dollars.
I actually went onto the Uber app and had a
look at how much an uber was going to be,
and Uber would have been fourteen dollars.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Yep, I said, Uber would have been fourteen dollars.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
You've charged him sixty nine, and you got the other
money from them the other people. He gave me another
tried to give me another five. I went no, he
gave me another ten, and I went all right, whatever
I'm going in now, I've got thirty dollars off, so
it's now costs thirty nine dollars, which is still too much.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Still way too much better than sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, and also for him handing that back over, he
knows he's.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Done the wrong thing.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yes, it's illegal. It is illegal.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Somebody the next morning went to get a coffee and
had the conversation and they were like.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
That's illegal. Yeah, it's illegal.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
You're not allowed to do that. So I've also then
looked at where the money came from, worked out the
company of the taxi driver, and I submit an online complaint.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Good job.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
No, no, no it is because the thing is A
it's illegal. B is it's off the grid. There's no
nothing like apart from your kids being in a cab.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
They're not on a clock.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Because I said, so, you don't know where they are,
I said traceat.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, so I can't give you a receipt.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Of course you won't. That's the part for me that
I go. Once you do that and you're off grid,
there's nothing, nothing to trace apart from the fact that
mum's gone out and had a few wines and she's
firing and she's ready to actually brawl but at the
same time, good Day gave you some cash back, but
just ripped off the other people.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
You know, Like at the.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
End of the day, he's probably cashed in. It's still
made a lot more money than what he would have.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
But it's just very wrong that trip.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
But the part of it is that they just pray
on people that don't know, and it's foul. It's horrible,
and I guess you know, like the other part is
they pray on people that don't know, but also they
pray on situations where people are direstraate to just get home,
like the girls.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Are just freezing waited an hour it was at night. Yeah,
people will pay whatever they need.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I even said to him, I was like, no one
and nobody gets taxis anymore. You can't do that with a.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
And it's unsafe, Tiler, It's very, very unsafe. I have
abused so many of them like that. I remember coming
out of the Melbourne Cup one day, I had new
shoes on, which is everyone knows, a rookie mistake, but.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
It's what I needed for the outfit.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
And we got out and we're walking and we're just
like tredging along and I was just like, I need
to get in a car.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Now, these cabs know exactly what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
They're all pulling up and you're like, oh, mate, can
just shop us at the Crown, And every one of them,
oh three hundred and fifty.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
What three hundred and fifty?

Speaker 3 (08:24):
There next one two hundred and fifty, and then by
the third one's like two hundred. I was like, you
fuck obviously it was the end of the day as
well as you can go fuck yourself. Like, I don't
care if I've got sore feet. That is like highway robbery.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, that happened to me after the races. But one
time I came out of the races, I wanted to
go literally where I was in heels too, didn't want
to be walking. There was a restaurant that we were
going to for dinner. I said how much just down
to the end of the stow He said something like
sixty dollars.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
I was like what. I was like, you're having a laugh. Yeah,
And do you know what I did right? I got
on an electric scooter.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Good, so good for you, so safe, three bucks, so safe.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
I'm really proud of you.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
In my dress and your skirts going everywhere
