Toen Manisha 17 jaar was, kwam ze naar Nederland om te studeren. Alleen kwam er van studeren helaas niets terecht. Om de kost te verdienen komt ze te werken in de productie en staat ze ruim 40 jaar aan de lopende band. Totdat ze in 2021 arbeidsongeschikt raakt door lichamelijke klachten. Nu haar zoon dit jaar ook nog eens 18 geworden is, en de kinderbijslag en het kindgebonden bugdet daarmee zijn komen te vervallen, staat hen een hele onzekere financiële toekomst te wachten.
Samen met Linda en sociaal juridisch dienstverlener Corine, gaat ze in gesprek over haar uitdagingen, haar schaamtes, maar ook hoe ze binnen al die onzekerheid toch positief in het leven blijft staan.
