Speaker 2 (00:45):
Good afternoon, Happy Saturday. You're listening to a very special Facebook,
Instagram YouTube live only broadcasts. Hey, it's the astarch Earned
show the show or Pounds is Shed, Disease is Dead?
Where you get to be said for new health problems. Yes,
once again, we have a tar heels game that has
preempted us, but that doesn't keep us from coming at
you with some exceptional health information. I'm your host, doctor
(01:09):
eron Ursin. Today we're talking about one of the most
common dangerous conditions in modern society, high blood pressure. And
this isn't just a medical statistic. It is a silent
epidemic that can quietly damage your heart, your brain, your kidneys,
and even other organs in your body. You guys know,
(01:30):
high blood pressure is hypertension. It's often called a silent killer.
And why is that? Because most people cannot feel their
blood pressure, and if you can, it's excessively high and problematic.
There's no flashing red lights, there's no warning sirens, there's
no symptoms of high blood pressure. Yet inside your body,
(01:51):
that pressure is potentially straining your arteries, forcing your heart
to work harder. In fact, it can even set you
up for stages of devastating health issues, not just heart disease,
but kidney failure and even dementia. So here's the big
question I want to ask today, why when we live
(02:12):
in a country with more doctors, more hospitals, more medications
than any other nation on the planet, yet fifty percent
or more of Americans are still struggling with high blood pressure.
To me, the conventional models asking the wrong question. They're
looking at it as here's a pill to manage your numbers.
We're not going deep enough to figure out the root reason.
(02:34):
And while those pills can lower your pressure, you guys know,
it never addresses the root cause. They suppress symptoms while
the fire, usually the inflammation, or the underlying root cause,
is still present. That's the problem with medicine today as
it is practiced, it chases numbers. I mean, think about this.
(02:54):
Doctors are trained to say, get your systolic pressure under
one pin forty and get your diastolic pre pressure under ninety,
but they aren't asking the question of why is it
high in the first place. Last week's podcast we discussed that, hey,
your blood pressure may be up for a good thing,
and you don't necessarily want to force it down. We
want to go after root causes. Is it stress? Is
(03:17):
it inflammation? Is it a nerve system imbalance? Is it
a mineral deficiency? Unless you go deep enough to find
the root reason, and usually it's a deficiency, you're missing something. Thus,
the reason why the pressure goes up your body's about homeostasis.
If pressure is elevated, you should ask the question, what
(03:38):
is deficient. What is missing? High blood pressure is your
body's way of basically waving a flag, going, hey, pay attention,
take a look at what's going on with your health,
and when you solve that, it'll reset by itself. So today,
what I'm going to do is share with you my
(03:58):
top five natural methodods to lower blood pressure without medications. So, like,
how do we physically do this without meds? And these
are not gimmicks, They're not wishful thinking. These are evidence based,
scientifically supported methods that will truly address the root cause
of hypertension. And yes, as we always discuss, one of
(04:20):
them is chiropractic care, something that conventional medicine overlooks over
and over again. It's how your nervous system your cardiovascular
system are intimately connected together. Research shows you can lower
your blood pressure significantly. Listen to this the same effect
as two prescriptive medications if you truly treat your heart
(04:43):
as an extension of your nervous system. So, as we
dive into these top five, a couple things for you guys.
Number one, I have a heart disease. Hel thy self ebook.
I realize I'm streaming live only, so we're not on
the airways. It's only you guys on Instagram, YouTube, and
Twitter and Facebook that are gonna get access to this
right now. It's a free ebook that shows you everything
(05:04):
you need to solving heart disease. It talks about the
concept that you know, cholesterol is not what it was
meant to be. It's not the villain making you have
heart disease. It discusses why grains and sugar and inflammation
are the root cause, how there was an industry standard
to say we've got to hide the fact that sugar
causes heart disease. We discussed the heart connection to your gut,
(05:28):
the functional approach. We talk about how there's cultures including
the Messiah, the intuit Eskimos, the Telukias in New Zealand
and how they all have elevated levels of cholesterols yet
they have no heart disease. We talk about how blood
pressure is not the vilified enemy, and then we go
through the hidden causes heavy metal toxicity, neurological inflammation, subluxation,
(05:52):
nutrient deficiencies. There's answers for you in the ebook. It's
yours right now. Simply text the word heart with your
name and email seven O four nine zero six two
zero nine four, or you can find the description in
the link above or below and just click on it
and it'll take you to a page where you can
get access to the ebook. And I'm hosting a masterclass.
(06:13):
It is on October eighteenth. It's a couple weeks away
from today. It's a heart disease heal they self master class.
Solving blood pressure, cholesterol, palpitations, arrhythmia is the natural and
holistic way. Okay, so solution number one here we go.
Why on earth are so many people ignoring the fact
(06:33):
that going to a chiropractor could actually help you heal
your heart. Well, it's because most people don't think of
blood pressure being connected with chiropractic care. The average person
assumes chiropractic care is for people with neck pain, back paining, headaches.
But when you understand what chiropractic truly is, how it's
a technique to stimulate and remove interference to the nervous system.
(06:56):
When you find out the connection between the vaguest nerve
master cranial nerve that exits the back of your neck
and your heart, you're gonna have this epiphany going, oh
my gosh, why haven't I done this years ago, and
you're gonna begin a chiropractic regimen that isn't just for
neck paint and back painting headaches, but also because you
need to turn your nervous system on regularly. The key
(07:20):
here is what's known as the upper cervical spine, specifically
the atlas vertebra, which is also known as C one.
When this vertebra is misaligned, it puts a stress on
the brain stem and the cranial nerves that exit. This
is the command center for your autonomic nervous system. So
what your body does by itself, and yes, blood pressure
(07:41):
is something that's autonomically regulated. An imbalance can cause a
sympathetic system to go into overdrive, causing your blood pressure
to be elevated. So very clearly I want you to
hear this. The sole purpose of your vagus nerve. One
of its sole purposes is to decrease the pressure in
your heart, decrease the rhythm, the rate, so all the tachycardia,
(08:05):
arrhythmia's offbeat balances. High blood pressure is because the vegus
nerve is not sending the proper signal. By correcting misalignments
with a specific adjustment to lift the occiput, lower the
atlas and basically open the space for the vegus nerve.
It enhances neurological function. Thus the result is blood vessels relax,
(08:28):
heart rate can normalize, blood pressure can drop. And this
isn't just me saying this. I want you to listen
to this. Dating as far back as two thousand and seven,
the Journal of Human Hypertension, which by the way, is
a medical journal that does nothing but study high blood pressure,
found that a single adjustment, just one adjustment to your ATLAS,
(08:50):
can lower your blood pressure systemically as much as seventeen
points and diastolically as much as ten guys, that's the
equivalent of taking two prescriptive medicare patients to pull that off.
If that doesn't make you go, I gotta call a
chiropractor right now. Five high blood pressure. I don't know
what else would seventeen points diastolic ten point I'm sorry,
seventeen points systemic, ten points diastolic with just a single adjustment.
(09:17):
I've seen this first ten in our practice. Patients come
in with readings one p fifty over ninety five, They
get adjusted, They vibrate within ten to fifteen minutes back
to one twenty over eighty back to one hundred and
ten over seventy. It's not magic, it's physiology. When you
remove the interference on your nervous system, your body restores
(09:38):
balance innately. This is why chiropractic, in my opinion, should
be part of every single hypertensive treatment plan, not as
an alternative, but as a lifestyle change and a way
to induce neurological communication to tell your heart how to
work properly. Because I'm going to say it to you
this way. If your nervous system isn't working properly, no
(10:01):
amount of diet, exercise, or prescriptive drugs will actually correct
elevated blood pressure. So, if you're dealing with high blood
pressure and you have not had your spine, your nervous system,
your vagus, nerve, and the upper cervical complex of your
neck assessed by a functional physician structural chiropracture, it is
(10:21):
an absolute must. I promise you it's the missing link
that you've been looking for. So solution number one to
lowering blood pressure naturally, get your spine assessed for sublixation.
Have your upper cervical cranial complex oxyput C one C
two assessed with a structural exam and have a chiropractor
(10:42):
who specializes in structural adjustments, which means resetting the spine
to its original position, releasing subluxation. Watch as your blood
pressure drops. Okay, solution number two this is a unique one.
Increase your nitric oxide production. One of the most power
full natural ways to lower blood pressure is by increasing
(11:03):
what your body naturally uses to expand your blood vessels.
It's called nitric oxide. It is a molecule that acts
like a signaling compound within the cardiovascar system and what
is its main job. Ready for this to dilate blood vessels,
relax them, and improve blood flow. So when your nitric
oxide levels are elevated, your arteries are open, your circulation
(11:28):
is unobstructed, and pressure usually is good. So when nitric
oxide levels are low, vessels stiffened. Blood pressure climbs and
this is a big deal for a lot of people
who have high blood pressure. The problem is that most
people today are extremely deficient in their ability to produce
nitric oxide. For one reason, the ability for your body
(11:51):
to make nitric oxide decreases as you age, so ready
for this. By the time you hit forty your production
is usually half of that of what it was when
you're twenty. So it isn't some random I hit forty
and all of a sudden my health fell apart. It's
your body innately stops producing nitric oxide as well as
it did before. Usually, if you add to that the
(12:14):
fact that most people are lacking nitrate rich vegetables, which
they need to produce nitric oxide. These are things like
beets and erugola and spinach and celery, So like, if
we are deficient, we can't even make the nitric oxide
in the first place. Add to that, mouth wash and
(12:35):
ant acids physically disrupt the nitric oxide pathways within your body.
So if you're taking thumbs or every night you swig
listerine to you know, clean your mouth out and kill
all the bacteria down, it shuts off the ability for
you to produce nitric oxide in the first place. So
how do we store nitric oxide simple? One of the
easiest ways is to begin to consume nitrate rich vegetable again, beats,
(13:01):
a erugolis, spinach, celery. These foods can give your body
the nitrates that you're deficient in and help you to
convert over to nitric oxide. For example, did you guys
know that if you just take a beat and juice
it and drink it the extracted beat juice, several studies
show it can significantly lower your blood pressure within just
(13:24):
a matter of hours. And that's because beat juice stimulates
nitric oxide. Another powerful way to do this is to
use some supplementations to help increase nitric oxide production. Because
beat juice increases nitric oxide, they do sell what's called
beat root extracts, which is just concentrated dried beat juice.
(13:45):
You can also use L rgenine and L citraline, which
are well studied documented nitric oxide boosters. L rgenine and
L citraline are amino acids that act as a precursor
to nitric oxide production. So a study published in the
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that when you supplement
(14:05):
with L arginine and L citrilline, it can lower blood
pressure significantly by boosting nitric oxide production. So think of
it this way. Regular exercise stimulates nitric oxide production, increases
blood flow, and helps to lower artery risk of stress,
strained stroke, etc. Something as simple as juicing some celery,
(14:31):
some erugula, some beats and drinking that and then going
for a walk Boom can lower your blood pressure. Takes
citrilline and arginine as an amino acid supplements helps to
elevate that. What we have to mention is what is
it that sucks the life out of our nitric oxide production.
I talked about it earlier and you're probably thinking to
yourself antiseptic mouth washes, like, seriously, how's that going to
(14:53):
raise my blood pressure? Well, the nature of those products
is they kill the bacteria in the mouth, and these
bacteria are essential for you to convert the nitrates you
eat into nitric acid. Proton pump inhibitors also shut down
nitric oxide pathways. So if you want to maximize the
ability for you to make nitric oxide, stop using alcohol
(15:17):
and these harsh mouth washes. Figure out why you have
acid reflux in the first place. Instead of using proton
pump inhibitors. Bump up your nitrate vegetables, go for a walk,
drink beat juice and celery juice, and guess what happens. Boom,
nitric oxide starts to elevate. So science is clear behind this.
Nitric Oxide is a way to boost your body's ability
(15:39):
to open blood vessels decrease blood pressure. If you boost
your nitrate level foods, amino acid supplements and go on
a light brief walk, what you're gonna find is your
blood pressure can drop drastically. Okay, solution number three magnesium
and potassium. I want to move on to this because
in the nutritional realms, these are the top two nutrient
(16:01):
deficiencies we see across all patient based especially those of
you with high blood pressure. These two minerals are absolutely
vital for your blood pressure to be regulated. Magnesium and
potassium are so depleted in most people's diets today due
to the processing of foods and soils, and honestly because
(16:23):
so many of us still consume large amounts of conventional salts.
Magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker, so it means
it prevents calcium from entering to smooth muscle cells that
line your arteries. So without magnesium, calcium starts to flood
into the endothilial cells, causing them to contract and become stiff.
(16:48):
With magnesium, arteries stay relaxed and flexible, and it allows
the blood flow to move more freely, so thus your
pressure comes down. Potassium, on the other hand, is the
counterbalance to sodium. High sodium levels cause your body to
retain water, which increases blood volume un thus raises blood pressure.
And I'm talking sodium. The element potassium, the mineral will
(17:11):
keep your kidneys excreting those levels of sodium, so thus
promoting vasodilation and directly reducing blood pressure. The problem is
that people often get way too much sodium through the
processed foods they consume white table salts. If you still
use that and we're not backing it up with enough
(17:32):
potassium to counterbalance that. So a study published in the
American Journal of Hypertension, again the same one that found
that a chiropractic adjustment can lower your blood pressure better
than two meds, found that magnesium supplementation significantly lowers blood pressure.
And in twenty seventeen, the Journal of American Heart Association
(17:53):
found if you simply increase potassium and magnesium, you can
lower your blood pressure so significantly that it's the same
effect as taking a medication. So where can we get
this from? Naturally? Well foods that are high in both
of these leafy green vegetables avocados, wild caught salmon, very
(18:16):
very high levels of potassium found in pumpkin seeds. Don't
think bananas. Oh my gosh, potassium bananas. Think avocados instead.
There's so much more potassium in an avocado than a banana,
and there's less sugar. Healthier fats. Avocados should be what
you consume regularly for potassium. If you have significant deficiencies,
(18:37):
which most people do, supplementation is really really helpful, and
the best one for lowering blood pressure is magnesium glycinate.
It's easier to absorb and it works really well at
helping to relax your smooth muscles, especially in your blood vessels.
I typically find it's better to use potassium foods than
(18:58):
taking potassium as a supplement because potassium can be absorbed
really quickly when it's in supplemental form, and I can
throw your sodium levels out of balance. The bottom line
is this, when you restore your mineral balance, your arteries, relax,
your blood vessels open, and watch this, your blood pressure
drops naturally. So it's another drug free solution. Make sure
(19:18):
you get some test run. You can do magnesium potassium
on a simple basic blood exam. But the issue is,
again most of us are severely deficient. So if we
start to bump our magnesium potasium levels up, and we
do the nitric oxide boosting techniques I just told you,
and we get chiropractic care. Now you're doing three of
the five and you watch blood pressure comes down. Okay,
(19:41):
number four, this is going to be a shocker. Salt
is not the enemy of your blood pressure, and this
is one of the most misunderstood topics I believe when
it comes to blood pressure. Conventional medicine will say avoid
salt like the plague if you want to lower blood pressure.
But here's the truth. It's not about the salt itself.
(20:02):
It's about the type of salt you consume. Process table salt.
Synthetic white salt is pure sodium chloride one hundred percent synthetic.
It's an industrialized product stripped of all natural minerals. This
form of salt, when consumed, does contribute to elevated blood
pressure because it creates electrolytic imbalances, It can interfere with
(20:26):
water retention, and actually makes your vascular system stiff. So
is it true to say you need to avoid white
table salt. Yes, but that doesn't mean you have to
avoid all salts across the board. Your body actually needs
salt to survive. Every single nerve impulse, every muscle contraction,
(20:46):
every heart beat in your body relies on electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium,
and chloride. Like, you can't live unsalted. The problem is
is that most of us eat way too much white
table salt. And you might say to yourself, Nope, not me,
I only use Hemalayan or Celtic salts. Yeah, but the
foods you eat when you go to a restaurant or
(21:09):
your buying packaged foods will have salt, white table salt
in it. So this is where mineral salts can come
in handy. Yes, Hemalayan pink salt, Celtic salts, or the
redmon real salt. Unlike refined sodium chloride, these salts contain
a tremendous amount of other minerals. In fact, eighty different
(21:29):
minerals including magnesium, potassium, lithium, calcium, I could keep going on,
are found in Hemalayan pink and the Redman sea salt.
And what these do is these minerals help to balance
your electrolytes, support your hydration, so it actually keeps you hydrated. Yes,
adding a small amount of salt to your water will
make you retain the water you drink and it can
(21:51):
relax your blood vessels. In fact, let me show you this.
The Journal of Hypertension again. Human Hypertension Journal that if
you substitute white table salt for Himalayan salt, both systolic
and diastolic blood pressure can be reset in patients with
hypertension highlights the fact that it's not about cutting out salt,
(22:15):
it's about switching your salt to a mineral salt. Practically speaking,
the easiest way to do this is just go home
and throw out every single Morton's white salt you find
and switch it for the Himalayan pink salts or the
Redman's real salts. Even better is if you pair these
mineral salts with potassium rich food. So take an avocado
(22:39):
high and potassium salt it with Himalayan salt. Eat that
and you're getting the minerals that you need, plus the
potassium helps with your heart. Leafy green vegetable salmon. All
this stuff should be salted with Himalayan salt for hydration
because so many of us are dehydrated, which, by the way,
dehydration will lead to elevations in blood pressure. You can
(23:01):
simply create an electrolytic salt to drink at home. Add
a small pinch of Himalayan pink salt, a squeeze of lemon,
and a few drops of maybe some trace minerals or
a mineral pack to your water. And not only does
this help to restore mineral balance, but ready for this,
it can lower your blood pressure. So the next time
you hear this idea that you can't have salt because
(23:23):
we have high blood pressure, it's only true about the
white table salt, switch to pink Himalaan salt. The Journal
of Human Hypertension confirms you can lower your blood pressure
if you use the right kinds of salts. Okay, number five,
This is a big one because we talk about this
on every single show. The Power of fasting one of
(23:44):
the most exciting natural tools. It's free, You don't have
to do anything other than just skip a meal. Is
using intermint and fasting. Most people think fasting is for
weight loss, but I'm gonna tell you it's far beyond
just weight loss. Fasting has profound effects on your hormones,
your inflammation, your metabolic health. And you ready for this,
(24:05):
it can directly impact your blood pressure when you fast.
The first thing that happens is your insulin levels start
to drop. High insulin is a hidden hormonal driver of hypertension.
This is why a lot of people have hypertensions today
in the United States because they have elevated insulin, even
though they're not diagnosed as a diabetic. Insulin a blood
(24:26):
test when fasting should be less than five. The average
patient that we work with ten twelve, thirteen, fourteen. They
have double triple the amounts of insulin floating around their
blood and it makes your blood pressure go up. The
reason for this is insulin is a driver of hypertension
because it causes your kidneys to retain sodium. It increases
(24:48):
the sympathetic system, so high insulin actually shuts off your
parasympathetics and it makes you store fat in your liver.
So by lowering your insulin, you can reduce fasting fluid retention.
So like a lot of people who fast will say, well,
I lost three and a half pounds, it's mostly because
you just urinated out a ton of water you were
retaining and it helps to relax your nervous system, which
(25:11):
can bring your blood pressure down. Fasting can also reduce
oxidative stress and just systemic inflammation, and we know, inflammation
is what stiffens the vessels and makes the narrowing of
your arteries take place. So by reducing inflammation, you can
restore elasticity open up blood flow. A study published in
twenty fifteen Listen to This in the Nutrition and Healthy
(25:34):
Aging Journal, found that intermitted fasting lowered both systolic and
diastolic blood pressure in patients that were overweight. Another study
I found in Cell Metabolism, relatively recent just about five
years ago, showed that time restrictive eating can improve growth,
both blood pressure, and other cardiovascular markers, including tregolysrides and cholesterols. So,
(25:59):
practically speak, king intimitted fasting is not a method of
starving yourself. It simply means restrict your eating patterns, no breakfast, lunch,
and dinner. Stay with this day after day, week after week,
and what you'll find is, in a matter of a
couple weeks, blood pressure starts to come down, blood sugars
start to come down, weight comes down, inflammation comes down.
(26:21):
In fact, intermitted fasting has such profound effects that a
lot of our patients say, I'm going to do this
for the rest of my life. I love how my
joints feel I love that my energy's back, and I
love that I'm taking less to no medications. So there
you have it. The top five natural science backed ways
to lower blood pressure without medications. Chiropractic care, mineral supports
(26:44):
with magnesium potassium, intermittent fasting, the art of regulating your salts,
so we're using the right salts. Each of these are
going to target different root causes, so stress and nutrients,
your metabolism, your nervous system, our lifestyle. And what it
says is this conventional medicine will say take this pill
(27:06):
to make that number look good. But now you know better.
You know that if you increase your nitric oxide, you
can cause your vessels to dilate. And we do that
by increasing our nitrate rich foods and using supplements like
lr genie and L citralline. Simple. We learn today that
chiropractic care isn't just about neck pain, back pain and headaches.
(27:26):
It's about releasing the stress on your nervous system to
activate your parasympathetic vegus nerve, which says heart calm down.
In fact, the studies show the effect of getting an
adjustment to the atlass and the oxyput can lower your
blood pressure faster in just less than ten to fifteen
minutes and better than two medications across the board. We
(27:48):
need to make sure magnesium, potassium or at optimal levels.
We need to make sure that we are regulating the
kind of foods we consume and eating the right kinds
of salts. And then guess what. Implement interment fasting and
your body will say this boom, thank you, and blood
pressure starts to drop. So remember this. Pills don't correct
(28:08):
nutrient deficiencies. Medications, in fact, they make them worse. Pills
don't restore nervous system function, so prescriptive medications aren't going
to reset your vagus. Nerve medications actually shut off many
times due to their toxic side effects nitric oxide production,
and they create the very condition we're trying to fix
(28:30):
because of their toxicities, they mask the overlying cause by
just addressing the symptom. So the truth is this, we
talk about this every week. You are not broken. Your
body's just doing what is being told to with whatever
inappropriate message is being sent. It's brilliantly designed to be
healthy and healing. Once interference is removed. High blood pressure
(28:53):
is not a death sentence. What is it. It's a warning.
And my challenge to you is this, Pick any of
the strategies we talked about today. Just pick one and
start implementing it. If you want to level it up,
pick two. If you want to really hit a home run,
hit all five of them. Use the techniques that can
naturally restore your blood pressure. Download the Heart Disease Heal
