Diz de si mesmo que é um "leitor profissional e observador de nadas". Nascido em Castelo Branco, em 1982, Guilherme Pires trabalha no mundo do livro há quase duas décadas e já experimentou as mais variadas funções: editor, tradutor, autor, revisor de texto, consultor.
Actualmente, é responsável por uma oficina editorial, a Caixa Alta, onde pratica uma espécie de artesanato das letras. É biógrafo de Nadir Afonso ("O Homem Infinito") e publicou ficções breves (aliás, brevíssimas) no volume "Histórias Daninhas". Com um empenho muito analógico, resgata, colecciona e conserta máquinas de escrever.
