Mas esta greve geral teve um teste de algodão a mostrar que foi um sucesso. A fórmula é do director do Público que nos lembra a mudança de posição do exímio leitor das massas. Se Ventura diz agora que “existem razões para um descontentamento generalizado” é porque a greve geral existiu mesmo. Porquê, pergunta o primeiro-ministro, parecendo ignorar que o seu governo tem em cima da mesa um ante-projecto de revisão da legislação laboral que mexe significativamente nas relações entre trabalhadores e empresas. Se dependesse de Luís Montenegro, a semana teria sido toda dedicada a discutir a medalha de mérito atribuída pela Economist.
Político que é político até nas greves que defende aparece para trabalhar e houve debate presidencial na televisão já depois de ter havido debate no Parlamento. Por cá, há ainda que voltar a assinalar o reaparecimento do Procurador-Geral da República que se veio queixar de si próprio e repetir que, por ele, nem sequer estava no lugar em que está.

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole.
