My girl the lyrical Genius.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Thank you for coming. I love you, of course, I
love you back period.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Okay, So listen, we just gonna dive right into it.
First of all, can we let.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
The world know what LG stands for.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yes, LG stands for Lyrical Genius. It's the name I
came up with as a child. You know, I've been
rapping since I was.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
A little little girl, right.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I always tell people I used to rap before I
could read it right. You know what I'm saying, Cause
my mom wrote me a rap at like four years old,
and she would just recited to me every day until
I memorized it right, and then she would make me
do it in front of the family.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So I couldn't read it right, but I knew how
to rap. Here. She already saw it.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
She knew, she already knew, she knew you was a child.
I have a choice, right, she said, listen, you read.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
These raps sex you were thinking.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
You know how they usually have the kids that have
to dance for the family, so you was a child
that had to do the rapping for the family.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
I kind of look at it too, like how you
got like NBA players or NFL players. It's like they
kids got a football or a basketball in the hand.
And you know, my dad was a producer and a rapper,
and my mom rapped, so it was like I had
a mic in my hand. You know what I'm saying,
before I even knew what it was, and it was
just it was dustined.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Okay, So fast forward a little bit, right. Yeah, Well, actually, first,
before I.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Do that, what part of Philadelphia are you from?

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I'm from Germantown. My whole family from Germantown. Okay, Seymour Street,
you know what I'm saying. That's why I grew up
my grandma house on Seymourt Street. But you know how
it is when you're from Philly, you you've lived all
over the city. So I feel like I've been all
over Philly, but Germantown is where majority of my family
have lived and been.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Their whole life.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Okay, So were you winning competitions in Philadelphia for.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Music or just in general? For what? For music? I
mean for rap?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Definitely I won the Philly Hip Hop Awards in twenty sixteen.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I did events. I did crazy events in Philly.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
I was in the mix, I had songs with Gilly,
I had Colt Sons from Wallow.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Shout out to Gilly and me.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
From the beginning to this day, I've always gotten they
support Uh yeah, Philly fuck with me. Like I wouldn't
have left Philly if I didn't have opportunity.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Here, right. I loved Philly. It was no reason to
leave for me, it was it was lit.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
So how did that phil get in that support from
Gilly and Wallow? Because you know it's Gilly the King. Yep,
you know Gilly pretty much right now, and shout out
to the Philadelphia Eagles. Come on, I mean, come on,
we got two Eagles right here, the champions, that's right,
super Bowl chips.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, we flyab come on what we do? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Yeah, yeah, you know how I get down about the Eagles.
Jason Kelsey.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
You hanging with Jason Kell's you know what I'm saying.
He like me tights at the borrow. We was lit,
you know what I'm saying. But nah, yeah, shout out
to the Eagles. But it's it's always great when you
get left for you from your city, you know what
I mean, because we we do this for our city,
we do this for our people.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
So it's weird. It's funny. I met Gilly in New York. Okay,
it was crazy. I was in college at the time.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I played balls on scholarship and my college was an
hour from New York, so I used to just go
to New York and do a bunch of shows. And
I met him at a show I did in Manhattan
at the Trampador.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
And he was like, you from Philly.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
I'm like yeah, And I was young, so I was
real rough around the edges. I was like, yeah, nigga
for I draw. I was right, So I was real aggressive.
I used to snatch mics from niggas back then.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I'll be chilling now, you know what I'm saying. But right, well,
we saw our energy immediately, and.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I don't think yeah, but I like it.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I like it. Yeah. I don't want to scare my
white people.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You can't scare the money away. You cannot scare the
money away.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I said.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
You know, people, they don't understand there's a balance.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Okay, you have to have that. Uh mm. Then that's
how you get to where you going. Mm.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
But when you start scaring that money away, that's a problem. Yeah,
that's a huge.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yeah, let it go. Yeah yeah. So at that time,
I was in it.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Okay, you know, we talking like, uh twenty thirteen. I
wanna give away my age, but yeah, twenty thirteen. And
he seen me out there and he was like, yeah,
you dope. I mean he was like, yeah, take my
in flo blah blah blah. Then later he hit me
up like yeah, let me know what song you want
me to jump on, Like Gilly's super super super dope,
super humble, super thorough right, you know what I'm saying.
I'm like cool. Got back to Philly. It's like, oh,

(05:41):
this is the one sent them the song. It s
like alright, let me know what studio. Okay booked the studio,
had my cameraman in there and all that came through.
Gave me the ill coat sign, jumped on the track.
It was real, real dope, you know what I'm saying.
And then uh, I ran at to Wallow at an
event Pull My Life with Matt Brown, who's also a
big pillar.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I love my west Philly Westfield.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yes thing.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
We did the Pull my Life event. We went viral.
That was the first event where I was hitting my
chest and rapping right. Willow gave me the il coat
sign on the track I did with Gilly.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
So it was all love. And then literally a year
later I had got signed my first deal and moved
to LA who'd you get signed with?

Speaker 4 (06:22):
I just got signed to an independent label from out
of Philly, and uh, they.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Moved me out here. They was like, look, we.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Got fort eight thousand for dudes, you n figure it out.
Gave me the break getting cash.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Cool. Moved out here, came out here, flew out here.
I mean, nobody ever got this story. You know, we
on brew.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
You know what I'm saying, were keeping the thorough you
know what I'm saying, So nobody ever got this story.
But yeah, straight up cash just money. Guys from Philly,
go find a place. Flew out here, found an apartment. Yeah,
met with some some labels and uh, they was like, yo,
you need to do music for for Sink. I don't
know what that meant, right, Sink that And I had

(07:02):
just got my first placement, which I also didn't understand
was Sink And it was basically that they used my
song for a commercial for shoes. Right, that's called Sink
and licensing.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Right. That was the first time I ever heard the term.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
All my life, I was to investing yourself, you know
what I'm saying. I was a corporate manager at Comcast
at the time. I'm spending twenty thirty thousand a year
into my career.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
So you've paid your dues. Yeah, yeah, I was paying
into my career.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Yeah, and then I find they hit me up like, yo,
we gotta pay you X amount of dollars for this placement.
And I said, wait a minute, I need to do this.
Nobody told me you could do this with music.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
So that's what I came out here to do.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Okay, So you got out here, you got the deal,
you got getting your music placed.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yes, your music is everywhere.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
It's crazy because I think I.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Called you one day and I was like, elg is
this you.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I think I just heard your song on the commercial
and you was like, yeah, that's me.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Let me know if you hear my music. Yeah, because
you can get your money.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Because I gotta attract these motherfuckers right, Yes, Okay, if
you don't audit, you will be taught it the lesson. Yes,
you must audit. At the end of the day. Music
business is a people business. We make mistakes. So track
your ship right all.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Right now, fast forward now here your music is getting placed.
You land a spot on Rhythm and Flow. How was
that when you got the call that you was going
to be on Rhythm and Flow?

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Now, mind you y'all.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
For those that don't know the original Rhythm and flow
CARDI b was a judge.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Yep, I believe T. I yes T. I was a judge,
Chance to Rapper, one of my favorite Okay, chance to rapper?

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Right, And on your season, the judges was Ludacris, Bust
the Rhymes, a guest, celebrity guest, celebrity guest host, and
Lotto Okay, super thorough.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah. Right, So when you got that call that she
was going to be on Rhythm and Flow, where was
you waiting?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
How did you feel? So?

Speaker 4 (09:03):
It was weird with Rhythm and Flow because they ain't
tell us what it was until we got there. Oh
and it was a four month process to get on it.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
It was a four month process. I ain't never said
this nowhere else, but we don't brutally honest. But yeah,
Philly shit.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
But uh yeah, so so they just said untitled hip
hop show.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Right.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
So when they they actually DM me on Instagram, Okay,
I didn't know. I didn't even know about the auditions, right,
they just DM me And I don't never check my
head in dms, but I just happened to check 'em, right,
and they said like seven days before I got this
message from a casting director and I'm like this is probably.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
A scam, right, you know, you don't know on the gram,
you know. I mean, I'm like, it's gotta be a scam, right.
So I just emailed them, just like let me see.
Emailed them.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
They were like, yeah, we want you to do this
audition for this untitled hip hop show, right, And then
I knew once I went to the audition, I was like,
this something legit. I don't know what it is, but
it's legit cause where it was at, and it was
in LA I did the audition and then they called
me and was like, yeah, we want you to go
to the next round. I'll send us X amount of pictures, videos,
da da da da. And then they was like, yeah,
we're gonna fly you out on this.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Day and at yup.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
And then when we.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Got to Atlanta, that's when Jesse Collins came out, the
EP came out. Tiffany and everybody here was like, yeah,
we this rhythm. They finally told us there was rhythm
and flow when we got there, right after we'dne went
through like, yeah, like eight to twelve weeks of pre
preparation and uh, honestly, I was just like at that
point I kind of felt like I knew what it was,

(10:29):
cause it just felt big and I just felt like
I manifested it. Cause when the first season came out,
it was it came out right when I moved to La, okay,
and so I was so focused on moving to LA.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
When I got there and I seen.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
The show, I was like, damn, I need to be
on this show, right alright, I should be on this show.
So for them to reach out to me, this felt destined.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Okay, So do you remember the moment that you realized
you were gonna be on the show cause it was
a very competitive show.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Yeah. I mean, you know, I do music.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I'll be honest with you, I'm not doing that. That's
that's h d you know, doing a competitive show like that.
I I have no desire to do anything like that.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
So is it like, you know, you going in there,
it's kind of like it's Gladiator, Yeah, because that's how
they had y'all set up, Like you just going bar
for bar. You're battling, and it's it's men against women,
women against women men.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
It was aggressive.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Yeah, So was there any fights behind the scenes.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
I mean, listen, first day, you gotta understand we went
from I think it was sixty seven or sixty eight people, right,
twenty two in the first day, like the first audition, right,
they they cut like forty five people.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Okay, So it was insane.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
The anxiety was up. It was crazy. But I'm gonna
be honest with you. I was in the back ciphering,
I'm in.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
The back, like yeah, then who rap right now? Like
we was having a ball, like I ain't gonna with it.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
To me, I felt like I was in like a
hip hop summer camp, okay, because I had been out
here in LA for a couple of years, and most
of the rooms I met, I'm not even with a
bunch of rappers.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
I'm with writers who do pop whatever.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Right, So to be in an environment where like my
original environment was just a bunch of young, hungry rappers,
I was like, man, I love this shit. Like I
thought it was fun as hell, but it definitely was intense,
and I found myself my homie, Missy. I was like
kind of talking her off the ledge.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
I seen her in the corner. She looked stressed out
all like yeah, she was the youngest one there. I'm like, yo,
I think she was like nineteen. I'm like you good.
She like I don't know she's a Christian rapper.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
She said, I don't know if they're gonna understand my
music cause I'm so you know, cause it's I'm do
Christian rapping. I'm like, bro, if anything, that's your advantage exactly,
that's your advantage.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
You a Christian rapp None of us do Christian raple. Know,
walk with pride like you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (12:41):
You walk with God too, so you got the extra bonus,
you know what, I'm right right, and so like you know,
I kind of talked off the ledge and honestly I
was kind of there more like a mentor, but it
was still like competitive and fun.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
But it was cool to just be around that young.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Energy, just optimistic and excited to just fucking rap. Just
love it, right, you know what I'm saying. Cause when
you were in the music industry, you know how it go.
It's like it's all business, it's all numbers, it's all this.
So just be around a bunch of people who just
wanna do music and love it was like, man, be
in this moment, be present.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
So when your family found out that you was gonna
be on the show, was that how was that reaction?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
It was crazy and and so you know, rhythm and Flow,
they do a lot of filming, right, So they actually
flew me back to Philly and did a whole They
did a fucking a week of filming with my whole
family that never even made the show, you know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
So it was so weird.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
But they actually came to my mom house and did
footage in my neighborhood. We did a cipher and I
had all my cousins there and my DJ doctor DJ.
I mean, the whole squad was there. So it felt
like they was really a part of it with me.
Even if the footage didn't make it, it's it was.
It was real exciting, and yeah, they just felt.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Like, go crazy, you gonna win. Everybody who know me
was like, you're gonna win. We're not gonna watching it
like you're gonna win.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
I had all my people watching. I was like, listen, LJ.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
We got a hatch she's on right now. So you know,
I was at the house. I was watching, and you
know when I saw you working with Luda? Okay, so
now how was it for you to work with Luda?

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Chris who is.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah, I made He's one of the biggest to ever
do it.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Yeah, and then you opened up for him as well.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
I did, I did me, and Luda was like, Yeah,
it just felt Dustint. I think just from his how
his character on tracks and just the type of music
he brought to the industry just fits the energy that
I bring as an artist, and me and him just
felt destined. And then following the show, being able to
open up for him on tour, on his tour and

(14:46):
open up for him in Philly as well at the
music Fest UH front of seven thousand people, was like,
it just felt like Dustint, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
And to this day, like shout out to Luda.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
You know what I'm saying, cause I I definitely know
you know you you don't know what the pot politics arer,
but ain't no way. It just happened the way it happened,
and I ended up opening up for him. So shout
out to Luda and his team and all the love
and support. He told me multiple times on the show
I was his favorite, so you know he in my
top five for sure.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Well, y'all have that energy, yes, you have that.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
First of all, positive Okay, bringing the bars always and
that just like you know, that's just what Luda does.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
So now what about Eminem.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Yeah, I took a picture in my hand when he
shook my head. I had a picture on my phone.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
It was my screezaver for a minute, shook my hand.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
I was like, yeah, nigga.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
That day, I was like, nobody touched my hand, right,
don't touch my hand.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
But I remember, I think you said that.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
How did they get that?

Speaker 4 (15:46):
But yeah, yeah, that was that serious because like I
grew up on Eminem, Like I remember singing Kim in
my in my house and my mom coming in the room.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Like, what the fuck? Turn this ship off?

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Because you know, Kim is a crazy song by Eminem,
So I was thinking some crazy lyrics and I'm like
twelve years old.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah, she's like, yo, turn this off.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
But she started you to cut it off. And she's
the one who got you started.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
When you go listen to the song Kim, right, you
gonna know what I'm talking about. And it's pretty aggressive.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
But yeah, so it's like to seem to me like
bar for Bart.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
That's the type of artist I am like a lyric right.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
It was really dope to just need him and we
talked a little football, little Eagles and lions, cause you
know what I mean, And it was the.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Dream come true?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Did you spit something for him behind the scenes?

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Not behind the scenes.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
We didn't have time to, but I got to spit
for him in front of the in front of the carols,
you know what I mean. It's funny cause, uh, since
we're brutallyannis, you know what I'm saying, they chopped to
show a certain way. But to be honest, Uh, Eminem
was actually giving me feedback about our battle and I
cut him off and started rapping because in our battle,

(16:56):
we had a whole crazy situation. Go see it, y'all
see it, and we ended up battling twice. It was
a whole situation, some TV shit. And he was like, Yo,
I wish I could.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Have heard more bar.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I'm like, Eminem's not gonna tell me you wish you
could have heard more bars from me. Yeah, you're gonna
get more bars, right. So I just straight cut him
off and just start freestyling bars.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
And can you give us a little bit of what
that was? Ah?

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Yeah, I said, uh, So he started talking. I think
I said, uh, I said, well.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
On the show, I said, damn, what was the joint
I did uh.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
The beat dropping, I show up ready, Let me breaking rappers.
Never gonna hold up steady down the earth when I
shake reps. Easy to make him shake that, but better
when you spit on them lyrics and make 'em hold
I said, But better when you spit on the lyrics.
And then oh, I said, uh, hold a, the beat dropping,
I show up ready, Let me breaking rappers. Never gonna
hold up standing steady down to earth when I shake

(17:55):
that easy to stand on the earth when I w
n easy to make him shake that, but better when
you spit on the lyrics.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
In me can play back, what the fuck is the
voles and what's in the moment within, in the.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
Moment you like freestyling. I'm putting words together out the air.
But if I, if.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I really mean say what I was going to do.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
I was like, look, put me on the track with
a bitch so I could spass out when they come
to spit and this written, and they gotta ask how
I got a combinations of pacis.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
I'm saving basis for favors. They holding Jacob for braceists
who give a.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Fuck if they Mason put my name on the patus.
I'm killing niggas like Jason pitches thinking I'm gaming. They
fuck around and get taken, have him sitting there waiting,
Odady here to save you. I ain't bring you in,
but I take you out like I made you.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Let Can you say killing bitches like Jason? Okay, that's
why I told you.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
I listen, Yeah, give it up.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
I'm sorry, Okay.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
I'm not going on a competition show.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Okay, cause listen. I don't be like freestyle. No, I
need my writers. Where's my writer? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (19:00):
They started in front of Rey and DJ College, Lotto
and Ludo too. On the cipher round it was all freestyle.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yeah, lyrical genius, that's the only one that's I mean.
And when you can come up the dome, see now
stand up? Okay, now you you give me a microphone
and a stage. Yes, I can talk shit off the dome.
Yeah okay, but dumb lyrics.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
I bowed down to that because I cannot do that
at all. So now listen, YR your team, your company,
team genius.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Yeah, please talk to me more about that.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Yeah, so, uh, team Genius is funny. It started as
a movement in college and uh, when I came out
of the LA started doing music for TV and film,
I had the opportunity to turn it into a legit
business for other artists to also make their way and
bridge the gap for other artists to get into the
film and TV space right, which was something that I

(19:55):
was really passionate about because I almost felt, I felt
bamboozo in a way that I never knew about this
space and music right for so long. Right, And you know,
you just think you can make it in one way.
And I always thought you become super famous and then
you do music for TV and film. I didn't know
that you could just get in that space and make

(20:15):
music for video games and movies and then that could
blow you up, right, get you streams, get you notoriety,
get you brand deals, and then you can build your
independent artists career that way.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
And so once I figured that out, I was like, Man.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
I know a lot of fire ass artists who should
know about this shit. They're trying to write songs for
Cardi B and this person, and we could be doing
this and getting placements for one hundred thousand dollars or
two hundred thousand dollars, right, four hundred thousand dollars Google
ad for one spot, and you still own the song.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
The Master and the publishing.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Look, I'm talking games, so I don't know if everybody understand,
but to get a four hundred thousand dollars spot niggas
a sound and deals for that amount, right and now,
feeling one song that's just one one spot? You could
get multiple spots for one song, right, you feel?

Speaker 3 (21:00):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
So when I found out that game, I'm like, especially
for a person like me who sat down with BMG
Atlantic Records and was told, like, you can do so much, we.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Don't know what to do with you.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
You do gospel, you could do this, you can write country,
you can write pop.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
We don't know what to do with you.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
But in this space, writing all these different ways actually
allows you to have an advantage. Cause I could do funk,
I could do rap, I could do rock, I could
do pop. So now I can make songs for everybody.
I can make custom songs for a Fortnite. I can
make songs for the New Easter Ray movie with Sizza
and Kiki Palmer, the trailer for that Check yourself.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
I did over for ice Q.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Yeah, and we got a one hundred and twenty thousand
dollars spots. You feel what I'm saying, and I think
we got over a million views on YouTube on that trailer.
If you look at the twenty twenty one Netflix trailer,
we got sixteen million on that on YouTube. Yeah, you know,
we just do this for a living now. So I'm like, man,
I know so many talented people who think they only

(21:58):
have one way in and it's not even.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
The fair way. Right.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
So here's the thing though, I mean, for you to
get that knowledge, you know, somebody had to come to
you and present that to you.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Why do you feel like it happened for you? I
think that.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
I know I'm a unicorn in this space, right, not foolish.
It's not for everybody, right, I think that it's meant
for some people with the right sound. That's why Missy
Elliott get a lot of sinks. Yeah, she's on a
lot of stuff, right. That's why Ludacris is on a
lot of commercials, right, That's why Billy Eilish is on
a lot of commercial Bruno Mars. It's not just that

(22:39):
they're doing this and trying to get this, but their
sound works for it, right, And so I do think
it's a combination of the sound working for it and
your talent working for it, and then also you're having
a knowledge on how to do it and arrange it properly.
So for me, I just made music that already worked
for it, right, and then once I found out about it,

(23:00):
I was able to get more knowledge about it and
learn how to be the one of the greatest senate
right yeah?

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Okay? So who would you say is your favorite MC
right now in this out? Mm? Come on, why you
wanna put me on a spot like this? D You
have a sip and you know my favorite MC right now?
Big Shawn is in my top five?

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Okay, Big Shawn, always Chance the rapper, always Luda, always.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Yourself. Come on, that's not top five, That's just what
it is, right, That's just right. I wake up every
day like nigga do this ship? You do this? Right?
What I'm saying?

Speaker 4 (23:43):
So I anybody I just needed that would battle. I'm
with the ships. But yeah, you know new rappers. Everybody
from Philly is hot. All the young boys doing the
Jersey Club Ship two Rare, D Sturdy, all the Philly
guys DJ crazy you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (23:58):
They a de Force Loan, what is it?

Speaker 4 (24:02):
D Force Slan D S thirty You know what I'm saying, Zassosa,
that whole Jersey Club party movement is crazy out of Philly.
That the whole world is stealing and utilizing, they changing
the game. Ouzzi, So shout out to Philly tearing wag
Rocky everybody out of Philly.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
Man, we going stupid, right. Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Have you talked to any of the MC's back in Philly,
like do you? I mean, have you talked to them
about the game that the knowledge that was talked to you?

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Are they receptive to it? Okay? A lot of people.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
It's funny, a lot of people actually reach out to
me and be like, yo, I've seen you on Da
Da da da.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Why are you doing? That's what's that? Yeah? And I'll
be like, yeah, this is what it is like.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
I've never been afraid to share a game because any
blessings for me is this, Oh ain't no competition.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Come on, ain't no crabs in a barrel.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Thank you for having that mentality, because there's so many
people that feel like, you know what, as soon as
they learn something, it's like, Okay.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
I gotta keep this game a secret.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
It now we're walking in abundance. We're gonna attract everything
We're not chasing nothing, and that's why didn't get here chasing.
I ain't gonna start now.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
And I feel like that's why with me and you
connected at the bowling alley and shout out to Chana
Ways Yes, because we was at Chante Wayans bolling party, Yes,
her birthday bowling party, and we just clicked instantly, me,
you and k Yeah, And I mean the whole night
we were just talking and I was just like, Okay,

(25:28):
who is this girl with the orange hair?

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (25:31):
I was like, once again, I like people who are individuals.
So when you see somebody who's standing out, you know,
just want to talk to him. And then on top
of that great energy, amazing energy and been nothing but
a blessing in my life, put me on to some
game with snapchat.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
She really is not there.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
We go.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Mak him money off of just snapping?

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Yeah, easy, right.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Okay, So who would you say, is your Mount Rushmore
or of rat.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Jay Z nas Pack and Biggie.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Done, jay Z nas Cock and Biggie.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
I'm gonna think too much. Come on, man, what we
talking about? Okay?

Speaker 1 (26:14):
What about four women?

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Four women? We gonna do? Queen Latifa MC light mc Light,
Come on, come on, man, what's up? Queen Lava MC.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Light uh lil Kim of course be disrespectful now to
say yes, uh, i'ma thrownineer.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Okay uh ooh? Can I have five times for honorable mention?

Speaker 4 (26:39):
You gotta do, Missy, cause there's not one without the other.
Like all these women open doors for us, right, I
can never sit here with this hoodie on, of these
baggy pants if it wasn't for them.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Right, yes, be real, I I would have to say
if it was Missy all.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Of that, yeah, every last one of them, Queen Latifa,
like come on, she may come on. If we have
Queen Latifa and mc light, we all of us will
have that big booze and booty snow fence.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Selling sex, yeah, but it ain't nothing wrong with selling sex.
They feel about women selling sex. I think women should
sell women.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
And there's all different kind of women, just like there's
all different kind of men. It's countrymen, there's rap men,
there's pop men. Well guess what, there's sexual women. There's
strippers that like the rap about stripping and turning up.
There's there's hustlers who want to rap about hustling. There's
gangster women who want to talk about being gangst it.
There's women who want to talk about better in the community.
There's a bunch of us and we all got a
different purpose. So I think, just do what you do,

(27:35):
and I love to see us being able to do
that freely.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Do you feel like though women get the same opportunities
as the men.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
In the space right now? I think women running the
game right now? Okay, I ain't gonna hold you. I
think that I think the women is giving.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
The men employment on the writer side right now. Let's
be real as far as like there's so there's such
a big space right now for women because you there
is such different broad spaces for women. You got the
Missy Ellis, you got the bar for bar Lgs, the
tr wax right, and then you got the sexy Reds

(28:12):
and the glow Rillers and the Cardi B's and the
megs right and I think the men they got like
the meek Mills and the g Herbals and the Kendrick
Lamars and the Nipsies and the you.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Know what I'm saying. So I think right now it's it's.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Finally reaching a point where we got variety, and it's
not like, oh, mainstream only recognized is one thing, right,
and so we just gotta embrace that for what that is.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Okay, I love that.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
