What's up, Team glenas A Here, welcome back to the
Building Better Human Project podcast. Today we're going to talk
about something simple but powerful, something that could completely shift
the way you feel show up and perform every single day.
So that sounds exciting, It's morning and night routines. I
recommend these to everybody that I work with, but people
really struggle with this idea. Now, before you roll your eyes,
(00:31):
I think I've heard this before him me out, because
this isn't about perfections, about intentionality. Here's the truth. Your
life is built in the spaces between your habits, and
the two most powerful spaces in your day are the
start and the finish. So lease talk mornings first. The
moment you wake up, you're either in offense or in defense.
(00:51):
Most people, they roll over, grab their phone, start scrolling,
already reacting to someone else's agenda, emails, messages, news noise,
and just like that, you've handed the steering wheel of
your mindset to the world. But a strong morning routine
that's you saying I own this day. It doesn't need
to be a two hour byour hacking circus, it can
(01:12):
be fifteen to thirty minutes of intentional time to prime
your mind and body. Here's a simple format. You can
steal silence, five minutes of breath, work, prayer, reflection, anything
to just sit and be in silence, movement, body weight,
a walk, stretching, just wake the system up and mindset,
Read journal, or set three intentions for your day. When
(01:33):
you start your day grounded, present and focus, you move different,
You respond better, you lead better, you live better. Now
let's talk about night routines. The book and most people skip.
Here's reality. The way you end your day affects the
quality of your sleep, and that directly impacts your next
day's energy, focus, and mood. Too. Many people crash out
(01:56):
with blue light in their face, overstimulated and underrested. Then
they wake up foggy and reactive, and the cycle continues.
But when you finish the day intentionally, it's like handing
your mind a soft landing. So here's a three step
wind down anyone can do. First, disconnect thirty minutes screen
free before you go to bed, let your brain slow down. Second,
(02:20):
download journal or reflect on your winds, lessons and what
you're grateful for. It takes a couple of minutes. You
don't have to go too far. On this one and
the third one is reset. Set yourself up for tomorrow,
get your clothes ready, have your schedule ready, hydrate so
you're nice and fueled with the system, and remove friction
before it starts. You do not need to be perfect
(02:40):
with this. I can't say that enough. But when you
own your mornings and respect your night, you build rhythm,
you build stability, you build momentum and momentum that's the
foundation of long term success. So here's a challenge for you.
Pick one habit for your mornings, one for your night,
and stick with it for seven days. Watch how different
(03:03):
life feels when you start and end with intention. Because
the day doesn't shape you, you shape the day. As always,
keep building Better Humans and start by bookending your day
with purpose.
