Today I am talking about a phrase that cops a lot of heat - but one I actually think is brilliant when you reframe it correctly.

Approche production.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
A team that as are here working back to the
building Better Humans project podcast. Say, I want to talk
about a phrase. It cops a lot of heat, but
when I actually think is brilliant when you understand it properly,
and that is fake it until you make it now.
I know some people don't like that one. I was
coaching one once in the second I said that. She
shut down with the old I don't want to be fake.
I don't want people to think I'm pretending to be
something I'm not, et cetera, et cetera, and fair enough.

(00:32):
But here's a problem with that reaction. She got to
hung up on the word fake, but she completely missed
the power of the message. Here's what it means to me.
It means act as if to me, fake until make
It means act as if you're already the person you
want to become, Act as if you've already built the confidence,
as if you already believe in yourself, as if you
already deserve to be in the room to chase that dream,

(00:54):
to lead that team, to run that business, to hit
that goal. It's not about pretending to be something that
you're not. It's about stepping into who you could be
before you fully believe it. Yet, think about it like this.
If you want to be more confident, starts showing up
like someone who is. If you want to be fit
and healthy, start making decisions like someone who's already there.
If you want to be a great leader, start leading

(01:16):
like you are one with integrity, courage, and consistency. That's
not fake. That's growth, that's belief in action. That's fast
tracking to becoming who and what you want to become.
We've all had those moments of self doubt where you
walk into a room and feel like you don't belong
where the voice in your head says, who do you
think you are? But here's the truth. You become what

(01:37):
you consistently act like. So if you act like a
person who believes in themselves, who backs themselves, who goes
after what they want, you'll become that person. That's the
magic in fake it until you make it. Words are
just words, so don't get hung up on them. Some
people get stuck on language. They hear the word fake
and they throw out the whole idea. But me, I
don't give words more weight than they deserve. I'm not

(01:58):
interested in semantics. I'm interested in results, and this mindset,
this approach, it gets results. I don't care if you
call it acting as if stepping into your power or
fake it until you make it. What matters is that
you stop waiting to feel ready and start showing up
like the person you want to become. So this is
my challenge to you. What's one air in your life

(02:19):
where you've been holding back because you don't feel ready.
Now ask yourself, how would the version of me who's
already crushing this area behave? And then start behaving like
that version. The rest will catch up.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:32):

showing up early.
