S1 (00:00):
Welcome to business and the podcast for people making it
all happen. Running a successful business completely takes over your life,
but I'm a believer that there is still room for
some ands like health, wealth, beauty, and maybe even some fashion.
On this podcast, I'll share with you what's working for
scaling my nine figure business while keeping you up to
date on the latest trends, news and fun finds. This

(00:23):
is a place for business and let's dive in.

S2 (00:26):
What have I told you? That you could build a
$10,000 a month business from scratch without chasing trends or
pitching your rents? I help people build $1 million businesses
that change their lives. So here's a breakdown of the
five business models anyone can start and scale. Let's dive in.
The first big opportunity is to create a local services
marketing agency for brick and mortar businesses. Have you ever

(00:49):
thought about how most businesses start? They start with a
founder who has a technical competency. Maybe they were trained
on how to be a chiropractor or they're HVAC installer.
They have some skill set and they decide that they're
going to start a business. What they don't have is
all the skills to run a business. They know how
to do one specific thing. They are a technician. But

(01:10):
in order to grow a business, you have to learn
how to get attention. You have to learn how to
market about your business in order to drive leads, so
that you can do whatever the services or deliver on
whatever the practice. So if you think about positioning yourself
in order to help business owners, there is a starving
market of business owners who want to work with somebody
who is competent and generating them leads. The easiest way

(01:34):
to start a business is to solve a problem that
is existing in the marketplace that you can provide a
solution to. If that's the solution, is you providing leads
to businesses through marketing. Now, I would not go crazy
and become an expert in all parts of marketing. Nobody
knows everything about marketing. Do not be a generic marketing firm.
Pick one channel and one type of industry that you

(01:54):
are going to go all in on and be the
best for that industry and for that specific channel. There
will be no shortage of people who want to have
your service because so many start marketing agencies. The marketing
agency fails because they do marketing instead of driving leads
from a specific source. And it has never been easier
because you can use AI to write ad copy, to

(02:16):
automate DMs, and to outsource any design, which means that
you don't have to be a creative genius. Your real
value is in the results and the communication with your clients.
So the model has to be performance based. So results
mean retention and referrals, which means that you only need
3 to 5 clients to actually hit your income goal.

(02:36):
Next is the second big opportunity to develop a coaching
or course offering for something that you already do well.
The key to being successful in creating a coaching or
course business is to create content around something that already
exists as a problem. You do not create a course
on something that nobody cares about. You create a course
based off of what somebody is willing to pay you for.

(02:59):
In order for you to solve their problem and teach
them how to do something. So if you're looking at
the course space and you know that business owners are
able to spend a lot of money in order to
improve their team members marketing skills, their team members sales skills,
their team members organizational or communication and leadership skills. That
is what you should create content around, something that somebody

(03:19):
who has a problem and who also has money to
spend to solve this problem can deploy on your solution.
I am a huge fan of solving business problems because
the upside is practically limitless. When you solve a business
owner's problem, they actually make more money, which allows them
to spend more money on your services so you can

(03:39):
keep solving their problems as their business grows. Think about
it like this. The problems that a $1 million business
owner has are very different than the problems that a
$10 million business owner has. So you can acquire one customer,
solve their problems at the $1 million mark, allow them
to grow to get to 2 to 3 million and
then solve their new set of problems. And these problems

(04:00):
stay consistent. They have problems getting leads, closing leads, hiring
great people, ensuring that their culture is great, communicating priorities.
Those problems scale. So creating courses or coaching around solving
these problems is the place to start, because you do
not want to create something that doesn't actually pay. I
recently ran into a friend of mine who transitioned from

(04:22):
working a full time corporate job to being a coach
who also has a coaching offer, and he's now making
$100,000 a month because he's gone all in on his
coaching business that's supported by his course. This didn't even
exist for him two years ago. He didn't think that
this was possible for him, and if he would have
asked him back then, he wouldn't have said that he
had skills to be able to do this, but he

(04:44):
learned those skills. See, the game of business is figuring
out who has a problem, how you can create a
solution to solve that problem so that people will pay
you over and over and over again in order for
you to continue to solve that problem for them. If
you're wanting a $10,000 month business, this is very possible
for you. As long as you are clear on the
exact problem that you're trying to solve and create a

(05:05):
course model and a coach for. I recently launched my
first course called Remix Your Business, and it was a
very fun, exciting process that we need to better understand.
How do you launch a course? What is the right messaging,
how do you position something? And now that I have
this skill, I can do this with ten other courses
that will bring more awareness into our business. This is
a leverageable model where you are no longer trading time

(05:28):
or money. It takes a handful of hours a week
to run and to build out. You can use ChatGPT
to build out your curriculum, your email automations, zoom for
live sessions, stripe for your payment processing, and there is
no shortage of learning management systems out there that you
can plug and play to be able to deliver your
course and coaching. This next one might surprise you. Executive

(05:51):
ghostwriting and content Repurposing. Everybody wants to be an influencer.
Think about all the corporate executives who don't have time
in order to post on LinkedIn and make themselves look
smart and sound great to their friends on their social platforms.
You could create a business that solves this specific problem
because they feel left out. They feel like they don't

(06:11):
know how to do this. It would be embarrassing to
learn and to figure it out themselves and take too
much time. Their friends might even make fun of them
for trying to be an influencer. Well, if you positioned
yourself and your business as solving this problem for them,
so you position them as the expert, you take care
of the posting. You take care of the graphics. You
give them a report on their analytics. There is a

(06:33):
starting group of people who are looking to have this
problem solved for them, and it makes it a no
brainer for them, so they don't even feel cringey before
they hit post. You're handling the posting now on the backend.
You can use all sorts of systems and tools to
make this very scalable, so you're not wasting hours and
hours per client, so you rinse and repeat that system. Now,

(06:54):
the best part about this type of business is as
you get more clients, you're going to become better at
understanding what's actually working. Because as you create content and
post content, you'll be able to have more analytics across
all channels. So you'll actually have data to understand what
is performing, what is performing, and you will be able
to increase results which will get you more demand and renewal. Clients.

(07:15):
You can charge anywhere from $2,000 a month to $5,000
a month per client. And you don't have to be
the face of anything if you're getting started doing this.
Using tools like ChatGPT, Notion and Descript to script, edit,
repurpose content quickly is how you set the business up
for scale. On number four, one of my personal favorites

(07:35):
offer financial services for small business owners because they aren't
even looking at their books. You see, most business owners
have no freaking clue what's going on with their financials.
I just met with a business owner doing $15 million
in revenue last week, and he's getting screwed over by
his CFO, who has stolen millions of dollars from him.
It's wild how easy it is to have business owners

(07:58):
be taken advantage of. For people who don't know what
they're doing so you can solve this problem. And the
great thing about doing cleanup is you don't actually have
to have a license. You just have to learn how
to do it. And learning how to do it can
be very straightforward. What's wild is you do not need
to be a CPA in order to do this. In fact,
most businesses need somebody who can run the basics. Can

(08:20):
you deliver monthly financials on time? Can you ensure that
things are being properly allocated inside the house? I work
with thousands of business owners and this is one of
the biggest pain points they have. They do not have
people who are competent with getting them the information that
they need, so that they can make better decisions. If
you position yourself in that light, the sky is the
limit for how much money you can actually make. This

(08:40):
is such an incredible model for somebody who is interested
in learning things. Most people aren't interested in financial statements
and budgeting and forecasting, But if you get good at this,
there are people out there who will pay you to
do this, and they will happily pay you because you
are really helping them. You are changing how they do
business and allowing them to make better decisions, all because

(09:01):
of the work that you do. If you're getting started
with this, offer the sexy things aka the not sexy
things like quick fixes, transaction categorization, cash flow reporting, and
even creating dashboards. See, this is the stuff that no
one wants to learn, but is highly valuable and something
that you can pick up very quickly. Our last big

(09:23):
opportunity is probably the biggest of them all. TikTok shop.
Get this the US sales of TikTok shop in 2024
were $9 billion, and in 2025 it is projected that
there will be growth of over 200%. TikTok shop is
the opportunity of this year, so if you want to

(09:45):
make money helping other businesses use TikTok shop. Here are
some stats about TikTok. Shop. The United States has become
a TikTok shop's largest market. It has surpassed Indonesia and Thailand,
and there has been a whopping 34% year over year
increase in shoppers, indicating how quickly people are adapting to

(10:06):
using smart every single day. $32 million is happening off
of this platform, and think of how many business owners
have no idea how to even set up a TikTok account,
much less have a strategy for putting their products on
the marketplace. This is your golden opportunity, and it is
a golden age to be able to learn this skill
and operate to other business owners. So how do you

(10:27):
go about doing that? The first step is you mastering
the platform. You cannot be TikTok consultant if you yourself
do not use TikTok and are not obsessed with it.
Delete every other social platform that you use and only
use TikTok and watch what other people are doing on TikTok. Shop.
The fastest way to grow on TikTok shop is through
networking with other creators and other brands. So establish yourself

(10:48):
as a thought leader in this space and connect with
other people who are doing big things. You'll find that
social media opens up so many doors. People who are
interested in creating content and solving problems on social media.
This has been an interesting transition for me because I
found that in business, it has never been easier to
collaborate with people. People who have a skillset are interested

(11:10):
and ready and willing to share with you what they're
doing that's working. So when you start spending time on
this platform, you're going to find the people who are
talking about what's working and freely sharing that information on
the internet. The best thing that you can do is
follow them, interact with their content, implement what they're teaching you,
and sharing with them that you're having success. That builds credibility,

(11:31):
and you will find that you can get mentors that
might seem out of reach all because you just executed.
If you do the math on this opportunity, getting 3
to 5 clients gets you to $10,000 a month quite quickly,
and you can automate book testing, video scripting and analytics
using AI. Remember that this model works because you're helping
small CPG brands convert short term traffic into purchases. Using content, calendars, hooks,

(11:59):
and optimised product pages, you create a comprehensive TikTok strategy
that is end to end. Solving business owners problems will
allow you to create a business that's.
