S1 (00:03):
Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the Review
Preview show at Chris Waller Racing. It's, uh, had another
fantastic weekend last weekend. Treble in Sydney.

S2 (00:16):
We did a good day in Sydney. Uh, Medatsu, yeah
he was good. Bounced back to winning form and the just.

S1 (00:23):
The extra distance didn't he.

S2 (00:25):
He did the Vale John Nicholson Handicap which was an
honour to win. Uh yeah. Extra distance is a big plus.
And uh. Yeah. Started what was to be a great day.
Charles Switzerland.

S1 (00:36):
Was outstanding.

S2 (00:37):
Was bounced back. Absolutely.

S1 (00:39):
Bang.

S2 (00:41):
Um, obviously there was discussion about running him in the Everest,
and it was very tempting to everybody, but we've kept
our powder dry. And we'll run in the Coolmore where
he looks. Very good chance, Charlie.

S1 (00:57):
Second favourite, I think. Is he something like that? Anyway.

S2 (01:02):
Olentia, She was great for Star Thoroughbreds. Fantastic. It was
a bit of confidence in the camp with her, wasn't there?

S1 (01:08):
Oh, just couldn't get beaten, could she?

S2 (01:10):
Just off the one trial she showed her class. Dominant.
Very good horse, Charlie.

S1 (01:17):
Very, very.

S2 (01:17):
Dominant. Kept maturing with age.

S1 (01:20):
And then back in the first video of the of
the new season. What was it? I think he's up
there with one of the good Colts Private Life. Hey.
And duly delivered. He did. Beautiful ride by D Lane, frosty Lane.

S2 (01:36):
Group one colt stallion making race Written Tycoon ticks all
the boxes.

S1 (01:43):
He does. Indeed he does indeed, with a.

S2 (01:46):
Lightly raced colt. The best is yet to come. I'm
going to.

S1 (01:50):
Well, where will you go with him?

S2 (01:52):
I've got to speak to Coolmore and the team. But
I would like to bring him back in distance to 1200.
Either run in the Coolmore or wait for the the
last day. Run against.

S1 (02:05):
Champion Sprint.

S2 (02:06):
Yeah, he's got his Group one.

S1 (02:10):
Imagine if he wins over 12 two.

S2 (02:12):
Imagine if he wins down the straight Charlie.

S1 (02:14):
Mm. What do you think? We might go to Ascot. Hey.

S2 (02:18):
Silly question.

S1 (02:19):
Grace would like to go to Ascot. Gee, I'm sure
her grandparents would like her to go to ask it
to just quietly. Anyway, um. This weekend. Huge weekend. Big weekend.
Huge weekend. Three group ones. One named after King Charles
the third who's landing in Australia this weekend? Yes. Fangirl

(02:40):
trying to retain her crown.

S2 (02:42):
Mhm. Special crown.

S1 (02:43):
Two. Very special crown.

S2 (02:45):
She's in winning form. Her work's been good. She loves
the Randwick Mile. She probably doesn't like pride too much.

S1 (02:53):
No. Or the forecast.

S2 (02:54):
No. The better the track the better she'll go. Pride
of Jenni being in the race makes it a fantastic contest, Charlie.
But she's up to the challenge.

S1 (03:04):
Yeah. She is. She is indeed. You know. can't wait.
Then the newly appointed Group one tab. Everest.

S2 (03:14):
Yes. Um. Joliestar.

S1 (03:17):
Barrier for James MacDonald.

S2 (03:19):
Sharing favouritism. So that's a pretty good push to say
that she's a pretty good chance, Charles.

S1 (03:26):
So Chris Harwood, who rides her every day, was wrapped
this morning, wasn't he? Yes, James, he said if you
want her presenting how she was before her first up. Run.
You've got it.

S2 (03:39):
That's enough for me, Charles.

S1 (03:40):
Yeah, that's enough for JMac too when I spoke to him,
who was obviously partnering Via Sistina around The Valley this morning.
So a busy Thursday morning. A very, very busy Thursday morning.
Then into the third Group 1 of the day in
the Caulfield Cup. You have Land Legend? Yes. Good for track.
There's rain around down there Thursday and Friday. Barrier 1

(04:03):
Zac Purton flies in. Jeez, it's like.

S2 (04:08):
Four and he's by Galileo, so the distance will be well.
He won a Group one over the 2400 last start. Um,
I think he's still peaking. Charles. He looked a little
bit soft when he won the metrop. He and Zardozi
were fighting out the finish, and it was a good,
tough grounding for a Caulfield Cup. He went to the

(04:30):
Caulfield track, the Heath, I think they call it on
Tuesday morning and sizzled around there. And Steven Arnold was
aboard him and Buckaroo and goes tip.

S1 (04:43):
Tip. Oh, you didn't ask.

S2 (04:44):
No.

S1 (04:45):
Oh, oh this is not not a show for punters.

S2 (04:48):
I want them both to win.

S1 (04:49):
Yeah. Right. Well dead heat. What about poor old valiant king?

S2 (04:52):
I want him to win two. Oh, right. And Francesco Guardi.

S1 (04:55):
To get a start. Yeah. Christ. Greedy. Yeah, yeah. Good.

S2 (04:59):
So Buckaroo is, um. He ticks all the boxes as well.

S1 (05:02):
Favourite.

S2 (05:03):
Yeah.

S1 (05:04):
Does he stay?

S2 (05:05):
That's what everyone asks me. I don't, it's not my problem.

S1 (05:07):
It's his problem, isn't it. Yeah.

S2 (05:09):
That's what I thought. He loves Caulfield. He won a
Group one race there at weight for age. Tick. Weight
for age. Tick. Weight. Wet. Track. Track.

S1 (05:18):
Tick. Tick. Huge. Tick. He's one from one on. Heavy.

S2 (05:21):
It's got great international formlines. I only got beat by
Via Sistina, who's one of the favourites for the Cox Plate.
Drops to a handicap. It's not a massive weight. It's
got a great jockey. Tik tik tik tik tik.

S1 (05:34):
Even his wet track form. He's tried on it once
and he's unbeaten. The only other time is only in
a trial, believe it or not. But he trialled behind
two absolute rockets on a heavy track in Lazzago. He's
a proper horse like he's a, he's a weight for
age horse in a handicap. Yeah Joe Moreira. He rides well. Yeah.

(05:58):
What about that for an international card down there? You've
got Andrea Atzeni. Joao, Zac. There's one other, uh, Karis Teetan.
Oh yeah. Jeez. Interesting. Interesting. You'll be like that. Hong
Kong jockey jockeys room all over again, wasn't it? Yeah.
Valiant king. Yes. Will he perform?

S2 (06:20):
He's getting there compared to his first up. Second up run.
And where he's at now, he's chalk and cheese. He's ready.
Ready to show some better form. He ran in the
race last year creditably but he's drawn wide. But it's
a nice launching pad into the Melbourne Cup Charles. Mm.

S1 (06:38):
That is indeed.

S2 (06:39):
Something else to look forward to.

S1 (06:41):
Yep. You've just got two other runners on the day
down there Zachariah in the last resuming. Yeah. Barrier was
an interesting horse.

S2 (06:48):
He's actually showed us a bit of zip in his
jump outs. Obviously 1400 is going to be too short,
but he might win something through cup week like over
1800 or 2000.

S1 (06:58):
Second up and Anahita Barrier.

S2 (07:02):
She ran well. She had every chance last start. In fact,
she didn't get a lot of clear running. But she
had soft draw. Run of the race and she ran well.
She's a top six chance. Might not win.

S1 (07:15):
But doesn't need to lift a little. Yes, yes.

S2 (07:17):
She's getting there. She's a nice horse.

S1 (07:19):
Okay, you're right up back to Randwick. Currently a soft five.

S2 (07:24):
Lovely day in Sydney on Thursday.

S1 (07:26):
Race one, the Star Saint Leger Stakes, which of course
landlady won last year. Oh isn't he. Oh he did.
Etna Rosso. Kerrin McEvoy.

S2 (07:34):
Oh he's going well. He ran well on the Metrop.
Won the Newcastle Cup before that. He'll appreciate a soft
track and that's where his improvement can come from.

S1 (07:45):
Reginald Allen Stakes. Will we see this year's 1000 Guineas
runner and hopeful winner in Good Sort?

S2 (07:54):
Possibly. Um. Probably needs to lift a little, Charles. She's
drawn wide, but her first run was a pass mark.

S1 (08:02):
Nice opportunity for Blacktype nonetheless. Yeah. Aeliana Barrier one. JMac. Yeah, I.

S2 (08:08):
Like this filly. I think she's a prep away. But James.
Good soft draw. She's a chance to pick up some
black type by Castelvecchio. I think they're doing a pretty
good job.

S1 (08:17):
Concordia Wind. Second last start. Awkward gait to contend with.

S2 (08:21):
Just hoping to get some black type. She's one of
the Hermitage horses. She's not quite Lady Shenandoah. And she's
not Autumn glow. But they've got another nice filly and
she'll pick up some races here and there.

S1 (08:32):
And Canara still a maiden, but going well.

S2 (08:36):
Already been listed. Placed. But as you touched on, she's
a maiden. 54.5.

S1 (08:41):
Nice weight.

S2 (08:42):
Good draw, good jockey and Kerrin. She's a top three chance.

S1 (08:47):
Then into the James Squire Angst Stakes hinged barrier 13.

S2 (08:52):
Um she'd be the handicappers pick back to set weights
and penalties race with 54 kilos she ever uh tricky
draw Blake Shinn would negate that. Wasn't it a good
ride in the Toorak last week? Might have to do
some good performance. Similar unhinged here today on Saturday.

S1 (09:10):
The rain will help, won't it? If it comes, won't
warrior no. You also have Chica Mojito.

S2 (09:15):
She's knocking on the door a little bit keen in
her last start. Didn't settle as well as I would
have liked.

S1 (09:21):
Winkers come off, they do.

S2 (09:23):
They do.

S1 (09:24):
Well. No winkers. No winkers. So she just blinkers now.

S2 (09:27):
And a bridle, I like the bridle.

S1 (09:29):
No, no no blinkers.

S2 (09:30):
Just a bridle.

S1 (09:32):
Just staring. No winkers blinkers. Okay. Fair enough. Mountain Top
drawn wide.

S2 (09:38):
Yeah, she's in great form. This is a lift or
a big rise. Um, have a chat to their connections
and see if they want to wait for a couple
of weeks and win another race.

S1 (09:49):
Okay.

S2 (09:52):
Konasana.

S1 (09:54):
Silver Eagle.

S2 (09:55):
Yeah. Um, look, if the rain comes, she comes right
into it. If the rain doesn't come, she's a probably
a rough chance she's come back. Really? Well, a work
at home has been good. I think she's a bit
of a forgotten horse. I think she's my peak. What?

S1 (10:10):
What I've been. She's got a mention in every show
for the last six weeks. Just about. You keep scratching
her on me. You won't scratch out of this run
when it's worth a million. Smackeroonies gets us right into
a golden eagle worth ten of them. Ten big ones
for a horse race anyway.

S2 (10:29):
Charity gets 10%, which is great.

S1 (10:31):
Yeah.

S2 (10:32):
Get our charities sorted out.

S1 (10:33):
Yeah. Who do you reckon?

S2 (10:35):
Charity wise? Maybe our viewers could send in some suggestions.

S1 (10:39):
Yeah. Bit of interaction. Look at that.

S2 (10:42):
Yeah, that'd be great. Woo! It's got to be sort of.

S1 (10:45):
Related participation awards. Yeah. Fantastic. Yeah. We also haven't touched
on Zougotcha Who's also in the field for the King Charles.
What's the thought process there? No jockey declared gate three.

S2 (11:01):
Um, if it was a wet track, I think she
comes right into it. Um, otherwise, she'd probably be saved
for the invitation.

S1 (11:12):
Okay.

S2 (11:13):
Yeah. Simple as that.

S1 (11:16):
So, weatherwatch.

S2 (11:17):
Weatherwatch. Because the fangirl got a heavy track. Would she run?

S1 (11:24):
Who should have won a Cox Plate last year.

S2 (11:27):
Not on a heavy track.

S1 (11:29):
No. Sorry, but that's for next week, isn't it?

S2 (11:32):
So she could wait for the Cox Plate. Well, hopefully
it's not a hippie track, but it is a heavy track.
We'll think about it. And you've got your runs and
you'll be ridden by James McDonald.

S1 (11:46):
Wouldn't that give James James a big old headache this year?
Fangirl Via Sistina fangirl two queens. Anyway, for his sake
and for yours, I hope it doesn't rain next week's problem.
Hope it doesn't rain. Anyway, have a fantastic weekend. You'll
be cheering from Sydney. Chris. Yes, I'll be cheering from Melbourne. Yes.

S2 (12:07):
They're going to. They're going to stop you going down
there shortly. Mhm. Taking all the silverware.

S1 (12:12):
Yesterday was the first day I've been to Caulfield without
winning a Group one this prep. Yeah right. Yeah a
bit disappointing. Weren't any group ones to be won. Having
said that there will be on Saturday though. Look out.
