S1 (00:03):
Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the wonderful wacky
Waller Show. Um, we had a fantastic show to show
you last week, but the audio didn't work. So the
second round you got the duff copy, but, um, the
producer here, he got just an absolute pearler first round,
didn't he, Chris? He did. All the jokes were flying.
(00:23):
You were just rolling off the tongue. Ever. Best ever. Anyway. Anyway,
you can't remake, um, things that are that perfect, I suppose.
But anyway, you can relive last Saturday, and that was
just about perfect. Had big old Buckaroo and The Magic
Man back in town. Didn't he make them all aware
that he was there?
S2 (00:43):
He did. Yeah. Buckaroo, what was it? Three and a
half length win of The Underwood. Yeah. Time to win
any race.
S1 (00:49):
By three and a half lengths. Let alone the Group one.
S2 (00:51):
Yeah. You were in town? Yeah. How was the new
mounting yard down there?
S1 (00:55):
Oh, they got copping a lot of criticism, but, gee,
I thought the saddling boxes were unbelievable. Good. Much better than.
S2 (01:06):
Randwick.
S1 (01:07):
Randwick. Rosehill. Every single racecourse in New South Wales, I'd say.
S2 (01:12):
Any other horses down there? Went pretty good too. Yeah they.
S1 (01:14):
Did. We should have just about won with every race,
every runner you had. Four. Anyway? No. Private Life was good.
Declichy, he was fantastic, was very good. Quantum Cat was very good.
Just had to use himself up a bit to bump
his way out.
S2 (01:29):
Anahita.
S1 (01:30):
Anahita was terrific. Very excited to have him.
S2 (01:33):
On through there for next time. Francesco was just warming up.
S1 (01:36):
Just warming up. Warming up? Good. No, it was good.
Good day. So you did alright. Randwick?
S2 (01:43):
Yeah. Fangirl was star.
S1 (01:45):
Of the show.
S2 (01:46):
Oh, yeah. Loves a good track. Firm track. Uh, Zougotcha
pulled up fine. So has Hinged. So that was the only
disappointing ones. Really? Um.
S1 (01:57):
Scarlet Oak.
S2 (01:58):
Yeah. Don't know what to make of Scarlet yet. Still
doing a few tests. I think she might just be
a a Kiwi mare that needs a bit of time.
Bit of cuddle, a bit of cuddling. Yeah.
S1 (02:09):
They do like.
S2 (02:09):
Cuddle.
S1 (02:10):
From what I'm told. Um. McHale.
S2 (02:16):
He was good, wasn't he? Yeah, he was good. I
think we had three group winners on Saturday. Yeah.
S1 (02:21):
Autumn Glow.
S2 (02:22):
I don't know if I did, I didn't, didn't I
know it's not a show, but did I say it
was a good chance?
S1 (02:28):
I think you.
S2 (02:28):
Did. Yeah. Yeah, I think you did. He was like
80 to 1 early in the week.
S1 (02:33):
101, I.
S2 (02:34):
Think. Oh, there you go.
S1 (02:36):
If you're on early enough. Yeah it was. And the
Friday wasn't too bad either.
S2 (02:41):
Kathryn and Oliver, they had a good old day.
S1 (02:45):
Old Etna Rosso bounced back to form Newcastle Cup.
S2 (02:47):
Yeah.
S1 (02:48):
Old K McEvoy.
S2 (02:49):
I don't think he bounced back to form the Wyong Cup.
That was so slow. It was just.
S1 (02:54):
A messy race.
S2 (02:55):
So slow. Yeah. So he's on track for the Metrop,
which will be next week's edition. That'll be big.
S1 (03:01):
It will be. Best weekend of the year. Yeah.
S2 (03:03):
Grand final weekend? Yep.
S1 (03:06):
The only negative is you get an extra. You get
an hour less in bed. Then suddenly you're in the
club at 2:00, and then all of a sudden. Oh, no,
it's three. And then you're getting home and you're going, oh,
it's going to be a long Sunday.
S2 (03:18):
You've got a child now, Charlie.
S1 (03:20):
Yeah. Correct.
S2 (03:21):
And it's grand final this weekend. The other code of footy. Yeah.
S1 (03:24):
Yeah. Do you know how that works? That game?
S2 (03:27):
Yeah, I'm getting used to it. Some of our owners are.
S1 (03:31):
I love it. Don't they.
S2 (03:31):
Really? They're good AFL players. Yeah. And last weekend the
All Blacks won the Bledisloe Cup again. Did they just.
S1 (03:41):
Did they? Who coaches them?
S2 (03:44):
Um. Razor Robinson.
S1 (03:46):
Who coaches the Aussies?
S2 (03:49):
Uh, Schmidt.
S1 (03:51):
Nationality?
S2 (03:52):
Kiwi. He likes his racing too, they say.
S1 (03:56):
Does he?
S2 (03:56):
Yeah.
S1 (03:57):
Get his email. Hey. Yeah. Want to drop a line? Anyway,
he's a Palmerston.
S2 (04:02):
North boy, too. Is he? Yeah.
S1 (04:04):
You reckon? Free training fees? No, no, no deals to
be done here.
S2 (04:09):
It's an Aussie coach, guv'nor.
S1 (04:11):
Righto. Without further ado, we'll rip in. We've got Group
one racing at Rosehill Emirate. Barrier three. Nash Rawiller.
S2 (04:20):
Finally, we've got a barrier. We haven't been whingeing about
barriers because we the show before the barriers these days.
But not.
S1 (04:28):
For him.
S2 (04:28):
No.
S1 (04:29):
He's that good. They gave him a barrier before the show. Yeah. Yeah.
S2 (04:34):
Um, there's a little bit of confidence in the camp.
All the horses are running well, and it just helps.
Helps the stable lift, doesn't it?
S1 (04:41):
It does, it does.
S2 (04:42):
So Emirate has first up run was terrific. He as
you said he's drawn three Nash Rawiller rides. And, um,
he's a good colt. Good colt. He's ready to announce himself.
S1 (04:56):
Okay, then, into the Shannon Stakes. Molly Bloom. Second up
for the campaign.
S2 (05:02):
First up run was was a pass mark. There was
a lot to like about it, and she'll come on
nicely from the run.
S1 (05:07):
Osipenko.
S2 (05:09):
Uh, ditto. He, um. He finished out with Amelia's jewel. Um,
she probably edged him over the the concluding stages, but he's.
Come on. Nice. I liked his work this morning. Uh,
Ben Cadden one of our main riders. Give him a squeeze.
And he was responsive.
S1 (05:26):
So you think he's going better than what his form
might look like on? Just if you're looking at the
numbers rather than distance beaten. Yeah.
S2 (05:33):
You're definitely. Look, I think look, McHale was running similar
races in lesser lesser company in Queensland. Chrysaor or the
week before was doing the same. I think that Queensland
form was a little bit suspect this year with the
way the track was playing. A few other things. I'm
not making excuses, but all I'm saying is don't drop
(05:54):
off if they've got a mixed form because they've come
back better.
S1 (05:58):
Okay. Okay.
S2 (06:00):
You saw it with firestorm. Yeah. The week before. Chica Mojito,
who just was edged out by Firestorm. They're all the same.
They've all bounced through Queensland running better since they've returned.
S1 (06:10):
Tannhauser. Nice. Lightweight.
S2 (06:13):
Yeah. He back.
S1 (06:15):
Out? Been to an Epsom?
S2 (06:16):
Um, well, we'll be having a look with a few
of them on Friday afternoon as to whether they actually
need to run on Saturday. He does at this stage
doesn't he? He doesn't. It's a hard picture to get
our head around the Metro and the IPS and the sheer, um, look,
we've got the Toorak if we need it, but my
plan was to run them in an Epsom so him
(06:38):
osipenko doesn't really need to run the Saturday either. But
he ran third in the Caulfield Guineas. It's we've got
6 or 7, maybe eight going to the Epsom. Epsom.
It just gives us our chance to separate them. There's
rain coming. There's a lot of decisions to make for sure.
S1 (06:53):
And barriers to come.
S2 (06:55):
Yeah, yeah. Didn't we? Don't worry about berries.
S1 (06:58):
No. Not one. Not one of James and Sydney.
S2 (07:01):
Fangirl nine of nine you missed one from last week.
Autumn Glow.
S1 (07:04):
No, I've mentioned it. You just glazed over the top.
S2 (07:07):
Yeah, she was nine of nine. That was a good
ride from James.
S1 (07:11):
Nine of nine instead of ten out of ten. No
no no. Berry. Berry Berry.
S2 (07:15):
Nine. Mm. Uh. James road, the last four winners. You
rode four winners last Wednesday. Yeah.
S1 (07:22):
And the Saturday before he rode. No. Nothing. No.
S2 (07:25):
He was he was down in Melbourne.
S1 (07:26):
Yeah. We'll keep him in Sydney. We like him up.
S2 (07:30):
Do you think he's a better Sydney rider?
S1 (07:32):
No. No I don't really. He's good. He doesn't care
where he is. He just loves winning though doesn't he. Yeah.
He does love winning anyway. Colin Stephen. Quality Handicap, Canberra
legend needs to lift a little bit a little bit.
S2 (07:45):
Yeah this is his type of race is on the
eight day back up after plain run Newcastle Cup. Probably
appreciate a bit of rain on its way.
S1 (07:53):
First light.
S2 (07:55):
Um, he'll appreciate a bit of rain. He's up in
class but he dropped some weight gain. His type of race.
Man's voice uh, I'm not sure if he needs to run,
so yeah, we'll make a decision Wednesday morning whether we
pull him out.
S1 (08:10):
So this will be ditto with Matusalem.
S2 (08:13):
Ditto. Yeah. He's probably not guaranteed to start in the metro,
but if we can make a case for him getting
in without running, I think he'll be better. And he
loves a dry track. Mm. Rain's coming.
S1 (08:24):
It is coming straight. He loves a wet track. Yeah, well,
he'll just.
S2 (08:31):
So he would probably preferably go straight to the metrop too.
But if he's like 26 in line to get a start,
he'll be running because he will love the wet track. Absolutely.
Probably win the race.
S1 (08:42):
Yeah he will. Heritage Stakes. You've got two altoff. Yes.
S2 (08:47):
Good. First up run! He was just climbing over the
backs of the hills. First up? Yeah.
S1 (08:52):
Timmy Clark was rapt with him. Was he absolutely rapt?
S2 (08:55):
Yeah. Drops back 100m. I don't think that's negative. I
guess the negative is he's racing against Gatsby's.
S1 (09:02):
Who will like the wet two? They both will. Actually
Altoff was at wet in Queensland.
S2 (09:07):
Uh, was winning at the Sunshine Coast. Yeah.
S1 (09:11):
Yeah, it was a race.
S2 (09:13):
Tell me this, Charlie. Uh, Gatsby's. He can bounce back. Yeah.
S1 (09:16):
My word, he can. Do you think.
S2 (09:18):
We rode him too close the other day?
S1 (09:19):
Yeah. Too close. Use him for a short, sharp sprint.
It's hard, though. 1100 at Rosehill. Oh, that's the worst.
S2 (09:26):
Worst barrier in, um. In Rosehill.
S1 (09:30):
Worst barrier ? Yeah, in terms of the positioning, yeah, yeah.
The leaders can often skip away, which makes it hard.
It's like a.
S2 (09:37):
hairpin like around a hairpin.
S1 (09:39):
Yeah, I could do with a hairpin, couldn't I? know, probably. Anyway, uh, 88,
1400 cadetship. Uh, he's racing well, isn't he? He is.
S2 (09:50):
Very well. Yeah. He probably got beaten.
S1 (09:52):
By a group of horses the other day. He did?
Yes he did. Nothing to be sniffed at.
S2 (09:56):
No, that's his type of race. Won't be far away.
S1 (10:00):
Chicka mojito. Second up.
S2 (10:02):
Awesome. First up. She'll run well. Uh, is she looking
for a miles? Probably. My question. Yeah. No, I don't
reckon work was good this morning. Sharp.
S1 (10:12):
Very probably not as sharp as Konasan, are they?
S2 (10:16):
No. She only had the one try, though, Charlie.
S1 (10:18):
Come back like a rocket, though.
S2 (10:20):
Yeah. I think she had a run up in Queensland. Yeah.
So she's probably only had a 3 or 4 week break.
One trial. She won't worry about the wet, will she? No,
just 50 over 50. Whether she runs 4000.
S1 (10:33):
First up. Okay. Fair enough. Into the 1900. Not to
be confused with the 1800.
S2 (10:41):
Caboche I he'll be in the Toowoomba Cup as well.
We'll weigh up our options and see where he runs.
But he won well last start.
S1 (10:51):
Last start. Winner. Firestorm stepping straight to the 1900.
S2 (10:56):
Yes. Do you think it's a problem?
S1 (10:58):
I don't she's so casual she'd.
S2 (11:00):
Be hard to beat again. Then she's by Satonno Aladdin, correct? Yeah.
They're good horses.
S1 (11:06):
Mare of Mt Buller.
S2 (11:08):
She was good.
S1 (11:09):
First match race between these two.
S2 (11:11):
She will like 1900, 1800, 1900.
S1 (11:15):
19.
S2 (11:15):
1900. Um. She'll run well. Really well.
S1 (11:21):
Medatsu also in it.
S2 (11:24):
It's going to be a good race.
S1 (11:25):
Dubbo Cup on.
S2 (11:27):
Sunday, so we'll have a look at the barrier draws.
See what the weather's like out at Dubbo. What, uh,
what what on Bureau of Meteorology do you go through
for Dubbo?
S3 (11:38):
For Double. Double.
S1 (11:41):
Ring. Pete. Nestor, I think. Yeah.
S2 (11:43):
Doubles. They got a big, big zoo out at Dubbo.
Do they? It's a good place.
S1 (11:49):
Yeah. I've never been. Never been. Kathleen spent a bit
of time there. Uh, but he's going well.
S2 (11:57):
Very well. He came out of the Etna Rosso Wyong Cup race.
They just went slow. He never had a chance to
finish off. And wherever he goes, he'll be the hardest
to beat.
S1 (12:08):
Harder than Unusual Legacy.
S2 (12:12):
Um.
S1 (12:14):
Poor Tony going to do.
S2 (12:15):
Oh we can't run them all together, I know that.
So Unusual Legacy will probably start favourite, wouldn't he?
S1 (12:20):
I'd say so, yeah.
S2 (12:21):
So, yeah.
S1 (12:23):
It's been a tough old race there. Well, he needs.
S2 (12:26):
To run to run in the mid trot in seven
days later. So yeah, trying to split them up won't
be easy, but It's a good race for us.
S1 (12:38):
Yeah, absolutely. Then just the one down in Melbourne in
the Sandown Stakes. Chris your froggy Newitt. Good first start.
S2 (12:47):
Yeah. Loved Flemington. Sandown's. Um, probably not that different. It's
a nice, long, straight, often hard to make up ground, but, um. Yeah,
he's going well. He's come back. Well he's come back.
Well he's also in the Epsom. Do we run him
in the Epsom or do we wait and run him
in the Toorak?
S1 (13:06):
All I know is this show next Tuesday all the
barriers will be out for the Epsom and the Metrop.
Oh won't they. So you'll get a bit of insight there. Mm.
What are you thinking? Autumn Lake, nine of nine again.
Or will she scare a few off?
S2 (13:24):
And, uh. Yeah. Might be a small field. Yeah, I'd
say the fuel drop off. You might get a few
others as well, but, gee, she's a promising filly.
S1 (13:33):
Good problem, good problem. Without further ado.
S2 (13:38):
Watch your tip.
S1 (13:38):
In the footy I give to you.
S2 (13:40):
Yeah. Are you? Charlie's eyes.
S1 (13:43):
Emirate. He's going to trump them all. Donald Trump. And
Trump them all.
S2 (13:51):
There you go. And the footy.
S1 (13:52):
Well, what happened last year?
S2 (13:54):
Oh. Magic man.
S1 (13:56):
The magic man. They didn't give him. I don't think
they gave Militarise the respect that he probably deserved. And
that did they. It was a good win.
S2 (14:07):
Three time Group one winning colt. Uh, 4040.
S1 (14:11):
Wouldn't have a clue who's playing well in Melbourne Swans. Yeah,
that's one team. Yeah.
S2 (14:17):
And the Lions. Brisbane Lions.
S1 (14:19):
Well, lion always beats the Swans, doesn't it. Not. What's
it going to do? Break it. Break its leg with
its neck.
S2 (14:24):
Or how's it going to get out in the middle
of the pond.
S1 (14:26):
Lions can swim.
S2 (14:28):
Not as fast as the swan can fly.
S1 (14:31):
Mhm.
S2 (14:32):
I think it'll be an even contest, then I think
the Swans will win.
S1 (14:37):
Okay. Even though our man is next line, isn't he? Oh, yeah. Jack. Yeah!
S2 (14:44):
Jack Gunston. Yeah. He just just got them in form
when he came back to Hawthorn. Mm. Yeah.
S1 (14:50):
That's why we'll go to the Lions.
S2 (14:51):
Billy Bentley's a massive Swans man.
S1 (14:54):
No, they definitely get beat then. Yeah. A lot of
the human handicap.
S2 (15:00):
Pre season started for Parramatta.
S1 (15:02):
No they're just cleaning out the sheds the other day.
Getting ready. Let let a few players go. We'll we'll
make finals footy next year. Heard it before. Well you
don't even have a team. Yeah. No you don't. Yeah
I've seen what you support Melbourne Storm. You just flip flop.
Melbourne Storm, Panthers one week.
S2 (15:25):
Well, I might be the Panthers yet. See how they
go in the next two games. See you later, folks.
S1 (15:31):
See how.
