CWR Weekly Runners Preview 7th September 2024

Hello and welcome to the CWR Weekly Runners Preview!

After a fantastic start to the season, Spring is definitely in the air as we gear up for the first Saturday of racing in September.

Chris and Charlie reflect on the 'Glow' of last weekend, celebrating with a glass of 'Matusalem,' before turning their attention to Randwick, where we have several runners throughout the day, including Buckaroo, Francesco Guardi and Hinged in the Chelmsford Stakes, Kovalica, Molly Bloom, Democracy Manifest and Osipenko lining up in the Tramway and Lazzura in the Furious Stakes.

The boys then touch on further runners at The Valley and discuss the stables chances in the Wyong Cup, with Manzoice, Etna Rosso and Medatsu set to compete in a strong field on Friday. 

Charlie will also be looking to keep his good form alive in this week’s edition of "Through Charlie’s Eyes".

Show as we kick off into a fantastic weekend of
racing first Saturday of September. September is going to be
a good month. Great.

More of a spring glow than anything.
She's pretty special. Autumn glow. And she's pulled up well,
heading to the tea rose. Next start. Three weeks this time.

And. And what else? Had a little bottle of rum
on Saturday night.
Oh, Matusalem. Yes. Um. He was terrific. He was, wasn't he? Kerrin.
Kerrin McEvoy was just parking them. Just slotting them in. Just. Yeah.
And he did that with him and he did a
good job. A few other promising horses there as well.
Yeah, absolutely.

So we've got no draws.
Which is good because we normally get bad draws. Yeah.

potentially four runners in the Chelmsford. You could have a
tissue this.

Kovilakam where are we at with this horse? He hasn't

I think he's going really well. I know he won
the derby over 2500m, but I think he's ready to run. Run.

to over race her before then, because the mile is

And Mike Phillips's brother, Osipenko.
Um, look, he's pretty similar to Kovalenko, this horse. He's
going well at home, but, yeah, him and Kovalenko are
good at that. So I think we're taking the blinkers

And we've got the half sister for sale as well.
So we won't be for sale after Saturday will it,
by myself. That's what I thought.

Kong based owners heading off against each other. Canberra legend
and Mr. Ho and Mr. Bruce and Strathspey.
Well, Canberra Camera legend will appreciate stepping up to 2400m.

Appreciate a good draw. Hopefully we can just get a
run of the race and see him finish off strong
and straight. Wow, he was good last start wasn't he?
Distance is no problem to him and Jay will.
Be happy that he's going up in grade and finally
got his weight again won't.

He's the horse that ran out at Randwick a few
starts ago. He's been good since being in Melbourne. Touch
short a mile. But he worked well this morning at
the Valley.
