(00:21):
AM thirteen ten ninety five point one FM.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
And good afternoon, and welcome to Community Connection.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
I'm TEENA Cosby.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Today is Tuesday, August and nineteenth. Three one seven four
eight zero thirteen ten. Three one seven four eight zero
thirteen ten is the number two Community Connection. Uh three
one seven four eight zero thirteen ten the number two
the show, And on the show today is always lots
to talk about. Phone lines are open, as I just said,

(00:52):
three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten. Just a
short time ago, you know, I was debating whether or
not just start out with this, but why not?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
You know, it's it's news.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
But just a short time ago, the Indianapolis Colts announced
that Daniel Jones is going to be the starting quarterback
for the upcoming season, not their former first round draft
pick Anthony Richardson, who they had put so much hope
and money and energy and everything into Anthony Richardson is
going to be the backup quarterback for this season. Head

(01:27):
coach Shane Stiken said in a press conference again just
a short time ago, and I'm paraphrasing here, I'm paraphrasing,
but Stiken said that Daniel Jones was more consistent, but
he added, Anthony Richardson is improving. So a lot of

(01:48):
you guys were watching that and they you know, they
kept us on edge, They kept the suspense going until
the very last minute. And I you know, what, what
are your thoughts, Cameron, I'm not terribly surprised.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Well, I'm gonna start it off with this just because
you know, out of respect, We'll do this because then Jones,
you know, his career, that's fun to him to earn
a starting position on a team that already had a
starting quarterback. Anthony Richardson. He has done, obviously, recording to
multiple reports, a remarkable job at training camp, showing and
proving that he still had the talent enough to earn

(02:25):
a starting position on a team that's trying to compete
in the AFC South. My thoughts on it, Anthony Richardson
has yet to prove that he can stay healthy from
the collegiate level all the way through and through. It
is something that has been following him from the beginning
of his career. Yeah, I think we needed to take
that into consideration.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, I think from a skill set though, and Stikeen
made it clear. I just don't think there was a
whole lot of separation, which to me, didn't you know,
to me that favored Anthony Richardson if Jones had not
separated himself. But the key word I think that the
coach said was consistency.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
And so to your point about, you know, not being able.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
To stay healthy for whatever reason, sometimes you know, you
just it just happens. Sometimes it's you know, it's how
you play the game. But they're looking for consistency. They're
looking for consistency, and I think that they again he
made the point, and the key word is Daniel Daniel

(03:23):
Jones is more consistent. I don't know that he's necessarily
more athletic, or more talented or more gifted, but when
it comes down to managing a ballgame and a couple
of drives here and there, they need that. And you know,
apparently Anthony Richardson simply has not displayed that ability just yet.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Can we address the elephant of the room, the line,
the coats line. Well, okay, now, for those of y'all
this is we are Indianapolis airwaves and beyond. But for
those of us in the inner city that support the
coasts and they have been watching the coast for years, Tina,
you vouched on this one. You need feel free of Chinese.
But the linemen are not protecting the quarterback. They have

(04:04):
not protected the quarterback, you know since the end of
Peyton Manning's era. Andrew Luck retired at twenty eight because
of the same issue and the slew of the rotating quarterbacks. Yeah,
you know, I feel like that has been unfortunately the
consistency you don't want. We've had an inconsistency of consistent
linemen not protecting the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
And I think the other yeah, and there's no doubt
about that. I mean, you see how many you look
at how he hit the ground and in preseason and
dislocated his finger. But the other elephant in the room,
and I think that this time that I don't think
it's necessarily an issue.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
But remember how the Colts used to take.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
A beating because they would not look at or invest
in a black quarterback when black quarterbacks were available.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yeah, yeah, I don't think that's the case this time.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I just don't see how And you know that that's
the other elephant, you know, one elephant in the room,
as you say, is just a sloppy offensive line that's
supposed to protect and keep the quarterbacks close clean, so
to speak.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
To keep his clothes clean.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And the other is But I you know, and I
think a lot of that criticism started back in the
day of Jacoby Brissett, remember him, and they felt like
he just was Yeah he is, but you know, the
city so wanted to see him succeed the city. There
there were a couple of others that were available at
some point in time that the city. You know, again,

(05:35):
this is a social media on whatever that they wanted
the team.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
To take a look at. And the team, you know,
kept passing. But it can't be with.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
As many injuries and all kinds of things. It's just
not a color thing this time. I don't see how
that can come to bear. But maybe they are those
who think differently. We'll take your thoughts. Yeah, well, okay,
the call phone lines are starting to like, we'll stop
right here and take some call. Uh three one seven
four eight zero thirteen ten three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten, Brian, go ahead, how are you?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Good afternoon, Good afternoon.

Speaker 6 (06:11):
And so you know, this is the discussion topic that
needs to be taken up with Danny.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Yes, yes, yes, when he comes.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, And I couldn't Yeah, okay, go ahead, no, no,
no you go, you go no, no, no, I'm just
saying I couldn't really call on him again today, although
I think he's coming.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
He's coming through Thursday, but go ahead, right.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Well, okay, so I'm not surprised because I'm not a
coach fan, even though I reside here. And so here's
the thing with with with Richardson? How many how many
college games did he actually play?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, And that's the problem too, And.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
That's that's where the NFL was headed down the same
path as the NBA, in that there's one and done's
or on.

Speaker 7 (07:00):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
Developed players are promoted immediately into the NFL and then
you get what you get and and and and like
you said, you pointed out his line didn't have anything
to do with him. You know, he can only correct
or control what he what he has. But it's not
it's not surprising to me, being uh having grown up here.

(07:25):
But uh, the other point is, I feel like the
Fever should be promoting uh Chelsea Mitchell like they do
Caitlin because kelchi Kelsey is showing the difference. There's a
difference between a score and a shooter. You're you're you're
watching it point blank. Now Mitchell can gore, she can drive,

(07:49):
you can penetrate, and she can shoot the three. She
doesn't have to shoot it from the logo. And that's
what the whole uh uh hypocrisy hip hocer she to
me is that that's the difference between a actual player
and a shooter. And and if and if the Fever
don't or do not promote Mitchell, and then we already

(08:14):
know we got another problem at number three. And then
I'll get off the line.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
No, No, I don't disagree with you about Kelsey Mitchell.
She has has absolutely been the truth.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
She's just.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Clark.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
She is better than Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
She's a seven year pro. She's a seven year pro,
so she knows her.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
She's a better player. But Taylor doesn't have the speed
and the quickness that that Mitchell does.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
No, they're different. They have different skill sets, that's true.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
And the last thing with with I appreciate you you
put giving the pushback yesterday with regards to your your
guy that always calls in love thyself, love thy neighbor.
But but the church right now is the biggest elephant
in the room in terms of the hypocrisy related to

(09:04):
just like you pointed out, a female doesn't have the
right to discern what goes in or out of everybody
nor and as you said, it takes two to tango.
It doesn't come by miraculous conception. But at the same
time they need to get on the right side of
the progress in terms of letting these so called ministers

(09:28):
and churches farewell owen orwell and all the rest of them.
They're they're so hippy. The hypocrisy is self and if
you're not aware or as student enough to know the difference.

(09:49):
And so no, he was totally off base with where
he's coming from.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Thank you, Thank you, Brian three one seven for zero
thirteen ten three one seven right zero thirteen ten Brother kimmen,
how are you.

Speaker 9 (10:04):
All right?

Speaker 8 (10:04):
Peace and blessings and like always so above it's the
same thing below. Yes, oh boy, I just wanted to
congratulate you for your your standing up for Kimmid yesterday Egypt.
You know, and I listened to you call it out.

(10:26):
You talked about being Panniker, and you know, these guys
trying to lay the foundation for DC and they couldn't
finish it and they had to get that brother to
come and lay the rest of it out. And it's
all laid out the same way it's laid out in Kimmt.
Everything is laid out the way it is being laid

(10:47):
out in ancient kimm in ancient Egypt. And when it
comes to Larry, I'm just getting ready. I'm getting ready.
Quote the x Klan, I have returned from a stone crib,
bringing verbal milk.

Speaker 10 (11:00):
Fool and a bib.

Speaker 8 (11:03):
Sometimes. Uh, maybe Larry, you might want to figure out
what that means. All of us in the conscious community.
We know exactly what they were saying. And you know,
Larry said, we didn't invent nothing, we didn't have anything.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
All we do is all black folks do is tear
stuff up. We've never we've never built a thing.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
And that's fine. You gonna say what he wants. It's
just wrong, but uh, and not that well thought out.
But anyway. Yeah, he's Larry has always been a character
like that.

Speaker 8 (11:36):
It takes brother in Water Ramsey to tell him Larry
to come down. But uh, we've invented a lot of
things and people are still copping this wag from the
young sisters right now. And you know when you go
to a team and if you ever go there, I
don't know if you've been there.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
But they have not.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
It's one of one of the places I've been so
many people who've been.

Speaker 8 (12:00):
God, you need to go into the wig room. There's
a place there comes and it Kimmy Together is the
wig room in one of these museums. You need to
go in the wig rooms. That would solved all of
this information, was it? This place is in Africa because
when you see all those holy weeks and mind them
sisters were back in Kimmy, they were doing hair, then

(12:22):
they was making curls. They were doing it all.

Speaker 9 (12:25):
And I just wanted to.

Speaker 8 (12:27):
Congratulate you for, you know, standing up for us as
a people, because like I said, no matter what my
people do with the all people, I always love them
and I'm gonna always be with them no matter what
the circumstances or because you put that in good form yesterday,

(12:48):
and I'm not gonna hog it up. Peace and bless us.
Everyone go check out that wig room or you know,
check out deep op the I've already examined the mummies
and told you they were meling and Larry, yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Yeah, pee some blessings.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
He We just got to get a couple of books
to him, but you know he'll be okay.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
All right, Thank you, brother Kim. I appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (13:13):
Bye bye.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Uh, Jeff, go ahead, how are you.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
Hey? Teen night can How are you guys doing doing good?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Doing good?

Speaker 11 (13:25):
Thank you?

Speaker 7 (13:27):
Yep. Well, you know I'm gonna just piggyback off my
good friend brother Kim.

Speaker 12 (13:31):
We know Larry.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
I'm gonna summing up real quick with Larry. Until you
notice you've been in the business for a long time.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (13:38):
Have you heard the term trolling? Oh yeah, yeah, that's
what Larry is. A troll.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Oh well, the troll. Okay, if you say something a troll, okay,
tell me.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
Larry's just trolling. He's just trolling attention. I didn't get
enough of it when he was He's growing up and
he calls on another show, and you know, I know
he's trolling because on that show he sounded like h
rap Brown. Then we called on the local uh talk
shows here and town. He's stepping fetching or Steven from

(14:13):
d django. So he's trolling. He just wants some attention.
He probably didn't get enough. You know, he didn't get
his first girlfriend. He's thirty years old something I don't know,
So he just wants some attention. Larry is a troll.
He knows Larry.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
But but so what what did you think about the
colt's choice today? Were you surprised that? I I guess
really nobody seems to be really surprised. No, Yeah, Richardson
has just got so much work to catch up.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
He got so m to do, And I think Cameron
really addressed the real Achilles heel. And that is the
offensive line.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah, the high paid, in effective, the highly paid. Are
they the highest paid line in the league? Were they
at one time our top five?

Speaker 8 (14:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Yeah, low was producing.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
You know, that's the coast Achilles Hill.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Carson wins, Joe Flo. I can go down the list
of all the quarterbacks. Yeah, Andrew Andrew here because he
got getting here.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
Yeah, yep, all of them, yep.

Speaker 10 (15:18):
All of them.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
And you know, yeah, we know it's Indiana. We know
Indiana is still living in the nineteen forties and fifties.
But come on, now, the last two Super Bowls black quarterbacks.
Anybody remember god by name of Doug Williams.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Well that's with your watch at the time, Washington Redskins
absolutely Land Karen Man, he used to play in the CFL.

Speaker 7 (15:41):
Yeah, yeah, if you so, all you good old boys
who just feel like brothers ain't up to well, you're
you still have any ball with the time. You know,
you're like the Neanderthal. You're still evolving, you know. So,
you know, black quarterbacks, you know that really enhanced the game.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
Indeed, indeed, there's no doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
I mean, my goodness, look at the action Jackson as
they call him, Lamar Jackson. My father's been loving him
since he was at U of L University Lesville. But
here's here's the thing, though, Jeff, I don't think that
applies this time.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
No, it's no, it does not.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Yeah, that's that's what I was saying.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
I just don't think that we can we can just
attach that narrative to this particular situation.

Speaker 7 (16:23):
I don't care if you're Tom Brady or Joe Montanna.
You're only as good as your offensive line. Okay, well
that's true. Yeah, Yah, I don't Yeah. So you know,
Peyton got beat up pretty good here and he got
the hit out of here. Andrew look said I had enough,
no mom, you know, and uh until they addressed that,

(16:44):
I don't. I don't care if they get Johnny unineus
War Warren Moon, they're going to get the same results.
And I just hope Daniel Jones will Anthony Richly he
got the ability. But like I said, the injury has
always been his. You know, his is Achilles Achilles Hill
pretty much. But the one thing I want to bring

(17:05):
it and I'll stop with this, Okay, what is the
protocol for for holding the demonstration? Because these Neil knots
he's been popping up all over the country and I
can only imagine that the Panthers or somebody just a
bunch of black guys or a bunch of Muslims popped
about a nowhere carrying weapons using the type of slurve.
What would the reaction of local law enforcement be.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
I'm not really sure. I do I think it all
starts with you. First of all, you notify the city,
you ask for a permit. I always thought, yeah, That's
what I've always thought. And then beyond that, I'm not
really well here in Indiana a six month old. I'm
just saying, but uh, you know, I don't I think

(17:50):
that that's fairly relaxed in this state in terms of
the permitless carry uh and things of that nature.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Of course, the reaction is going to be I think it.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
You know, they want everybody have a gun, but then
they also want to make it clear it depends on
who's carrying the guns that you know, there's a real
distinction made between that, uh, and and so I would
I would wonder how I'm like you, I would wonder
how law enforcement would have reacted had it been the
Panthers or or another group.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
But this group wasn't necessarily that large.

Speaker 13 (18:22):
They and they tas out of a historical black community
in Cincinnati, the same out okay, okay, by black folks,
by black folks they did when the black folks got
their AR fifteen and AK forty said, oh, we got
a problem, but you have a problem when these neo nazi,
these white nationalists popped up at the place.

Speaker 7 (18:41):
Yeah with mascular Yeah, you have a mask waring you know,
you're cowards, you know. And they fell in bold because
we got the orange lunatic in there, so they feeling bold.

Speaker 12 (18:51):
But you know, last of my check.

Speaker 7 (18:53):
Well, let me just say this. I'm hanging up, Tina.
I'll tell you what. Let me tell you something. You
burn across out in my yard. You bet be wearing
a bulletproof best. I'm gonna leave it.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
At there, Okay, I won't. Okay, thank you, Jeff. That's
premeditation right there. We'll leave that alone.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
So but I I I do understand Jeff's emotion about
that because you know, if especially if they come on
his property, you know, his personal property. I don't know
what the what the exact boundaries are there, but see,
this is heating up, and there's a lot of things
that are that are taking place that I wanted to
bring to everyone's attention to a little later in the show,

(19:39):
including uh, Trump and voting. But anyway, we'll go back
to the phone lines three one seven four eight zero
thirteen ten three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten Ron,
go ahead, how are.

Speaker 7 (19:51):
You absolutely super great? I am super you know, I
prefer to be understood and misunderstood. I don't care who
gets this abortion. That should that's their business. That's their choice.
As you said, everybody else said that is a choice.

(20:12):
I don't care who gets an abortion. That's between them
and God. What I was talking about was actually more
about what I heard made him said, was about what
happens when you kill somebody after they're born versus when
they're born. But that's that. And for the young man
who wants to talk about, what's that thing when the

(20:33):
men do their sected me fema. I was in the
barbershop and the guy came up with the commerce and
come and comment. If black men were so upset about
child support and what they could do for burn control,
give them the sector me. It's cheap compared to lifetimes

(20:53):
of child support. So the second me is a couple
of snips. Next thing, you know, you watched the football
or basketball games of the week end. That's why you
want to plan it on Fridays, Fina. Whoever wants to
have an abortion, that's their business. So I don't want
anybody to take it. I said anything different. I don't
want I don't I don't want to have anything to
do with anybody's choice. That's their business. When I end

(21:16):
my life and I have to go before God, I
know how I want to be, and everybody ought to be. Uh,
that ought to be. Everybody's concerned, at least in my work.
Whatever you stand and when you stand before God, that's
between you and God. It is between Ron and you.
None of that ever is emotion. You're all the best.
And Brian, if you ever want to have lunch or dinner,

(21:37):
I can leave my phone number. We can have a conversation.
I love conversing. One of the things I think I
do pretty well. I'm gonna say thank you so much
for Tea for letting me squeeze that in.

Speaker 9 (21:47):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (21:48):
Everybody gets to stay in their own name. Do what
you want to do. Your business is your business.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Thank you, Thank you, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Three one seven for zero thirteen ten three one seven
four eight zero thirteen ten Is this flex?

Speaker 14 (22:02):
Is that right?

Speaker 9 (22:04):
Yes?

Speaker 15 (22:04):
Good afternoon everyone.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Good afternoon.

Speaker 16 (22:07):
Oh I just want to break up in one minute
comment appre in reference to abortion. I have no issues
with that, and I don't believe in it's between them
and guys.

Speaker 17 (22:20):
If you don't believe in guys, just between you.

Speaker 16 (22:23):
And also when it comes to Peyton Manning, I heard
a couple individuals talk about Peyton Manning's mother quarterbacks who
left Indianapolis. Well in referenced to Peyton Manning. Please be
understanding he did not leave because of the office of line,
because Jim Mercey didn't want to didn't feel as though

(22:43):
his neck injury was sustainable.

Speaker 18 (22:45):
For enough to renew him exactly.

Speaker 16 (22:46):
Yeah, so it wasn't because of the office line. And
last but not least, I just want to make sure
that that when it comes to the AES rates, let's
continue on to to get with our legislators and everything
else and try to stop that.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Thanks very much, all righty, thank you, and I'm gonna

Speaker 19 (25:03):
Prescription botox is injected by your doctor.

Speaker 23 (25:05):
Effects of botox may spread hours to weeks after injection,

Am thirteen ten ninety five point one FM.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
And we're back with Community Connections. Started out the show
with the uh, you know, the news that is.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Just basically more or less I think what most of
us expected regarding the home team Indianapolis Colt Anthony Richardson
is not going to be the starting quarterback for this season.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
It is going to be Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
And you know a few of you expressed, you know,
your thoughts about that, making is this what's trending right now?
As they say, Cameron is trending pretty big right now.
But that'll settle down and we'll see how it goes.
But the point I was making off air was that

(31:27):
unless something really turns around, I don't see either one
of them being with the team this time next year.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
That's a bold statement. I know it is, because here's
the part that you have taken sideration. When it comes
down to Daniel Jones contract situation, no team's gonna want
to pick that up because that's what's gonna happen in
order to move away from Daniel Jones, who just signed
a deal the season prior with the Giants and that
the coach picked up. If they were to move him,

(31:53):
that contract would have to get absorbed. So teams would
have to look at Daniel Jones performance this year and say,
m is he worth adding his contract to the books.
So it's really this year is really approve it year
for Daniel Jones, not just because of him being four
years in. I think it's fourth to fifth year in
the league.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
Gribbin from wrong.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
But so not only did it prove it season based
on his years of experience as a pro, but also
because he left the Giants on such a rocky reputation
when it comes to performance overall, when it comes to
wins and losses. So it's gonna be interesting to see.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
It will be you know, what there was It used
to be an old guy in our neighborhood.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
And in short, the way I'll clean it up for y'all.

Speaker 7 (32:36):
But.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Gospel and inspiration and praise, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
But in short, what he was saying was expect nothing
and you're seldom disappointed, you know. And there's a lot
of ways to say that. But and it's not I
don't think his praising of it was original or have
you or the thought, but you know, it's just it's like,
don't get your hopes up. You know, there's another way,
but you know, and his thing is if you if

(33:05):
you learn to not expect anything, you're never going to
be disappointed.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
So but I think that people are just going to
be happy to see.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Fans are going to be happy to see NFL football
in the city, and I think the Yeah, that's the
silver lining, and you'll get to see.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Some other teams that play real well.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
The die hard Colts fans, Yeah, they're probably going to
go through some stuff. But you know, for the most part,
it's to me, it's going to be kind of like
treading water. You know, we just keep the ship afloat
until you can get it into port and where you
want it to be. But I don't expect a whole
lot this year from them at all. And as far
as the Fever, when we talk about expectations, and you've

(33:45):
heard us talk about this before, expectations could not have
been higher, could not have been higher. And talk about
a slogan that is so appropriate, you know, the now
you know campaigns slick, neat.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Inspiring, but now we know it's different now.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
I don't think that there is a team in the
w that has had more injuries at once than thee Yes.

Speaker 4 (34:13):
I don't know, because you don't see that very often. No, No,
just every week is a player.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
Going down downhill, downhill, down here.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Maybe a record may have said that, may be a fever,
you know, the fever may have set that record. Probably
for most injuries, but I haven't had the official word
yet from the last injury Sophie Cunningham, which happened What
on Sunday?

Speaker 3 (34:35):
But it wasn't Sunday? Yeah, what's today? Tuesday?

Speaker 19 (34:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (34:39):
They played Sunday, right, Yeah, but knee doubtful. They play
again Friday. So we're going to wrap that one up
with the bowl button it up because it's not going
to be I mean, who am I to say.

Speaker 7 (34:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
The tables could turn and all of a sudden, everything
can catch fire and they could be they.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Could be anything as possible. Okay, So but there's that.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
So our professional sporting teams, like Danny was saying, the
Indianapois Indians have a really good record and probably are
going to do pretty good, you know, heading into the
final games of the season in the playoffs. So congratulations
to the Indians on an outstanding year. Three one seven
four eight zero thirteen ten three one seven four eight

(35:25):
zero thirteen ten. Last week, we talked about the electric company,
the Electric Power Company as preparing to ask the Indiana
Utility Regulatory Commission UH for a rate increase, and UH
A lot of you shared your stories about UH the

(35:45):
high price of electricity, even without the rate increase, just
the incredibly high price. And they were stories that I
shared with State Representative Cherish Prior, who is who is
on a mission and on a campaign to you know,
to kind of bring this into into balance and into focus.
And so every one of your calls I shared with her.

(36:11):
I told her, you know, I gave her the numbers
and everything else. And she said that it was frightening
the stories that I shared with her. She said they
were frightening, but she is going to be leading the
charge now. Last night, the first of four public hearings.
The first of four public hearings.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
Were held.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
This one last night was at the Indianapolis Public Library
West Perry Branch on the south side at sixty six
fifty South Herding Road.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Sixty six fifty South Herding Road.

Speaker 14 (36:46):
And so.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Let's take a listen all of the stations reported on it.
We just pulled one from WTHR. So let's take a
listen to what happened last night.

Speaker 33 (37:02):
A proposed increase on electric bills that has many Hoosiers frustrated. Tonight,
the public got a chance to vent about this possible
rate increase for the first time since AEES filed this request.
Our Alex Almonza was at the public meeting tonight, so
Alex would people have to.

Speaker 19 (37:18):
Say, now, I'm sure there work out.

Speaker 34 (37:20):
Yes, failed the proposal filed the proposal earlier this year.
There's been a lot of pushback from customers who say,
the rising cost of everything, this just adds one more
hole to their already leaking wallet. Seldom has a library
checked out this much frustration. On Monday, the West Perry
Library branch turned into a hearing room as the Indiana
Utility Regulatory Commission heard from as Indiana customers, each with

(37:45):
a different story on why they don't want rate increases.

Speaker 11 (37:48):
Profits should be not the main priority.

Speaker 7 (37:51):
We should have good, clean electricity, dependable electricity right now
we don't.

Speaker 34 (37:55):
The governor appointed i RC, as well as the petitioner
and consumer advocates. Let the people do the talking. That
was done by design, each comment written down into public
record for state regulators to consider when deciding on whether
to approve as Indiana's twenty one dollars rate hike. Regulators
have enormous discretion in this case to say no to
many of AES Indiana's proposals.

Speaker 11 (38:16):
The deal is not done.

Speaker 34 (38:17):
We have the opportunity now to have our voices heard
and to make an impact. The Citizens Action Coalition points
out that twenty one dollars is on top of a
nine dollars increase already approved and said to take effect
this year. Coalition leaders say Hoosiers are already struggling to
pay their bills and that adding this only brings more pain.

Speaker 28 (38:36):
It makes me feel angry. It's kind of gross that
they're thinking that they have to go around to the
customers and ask them to pay extra money when.

Speaker 19 (38:42):
They clearly have it.

Speaker 34 (38:43):
AES Indiana says the rate increase is necessary to keep
up with the rising cost of business, including what they
call vegetation management.

Speaker 35 (38:51):
This vegetation management cost has skyrocketed for US over the
past three years since we filed our last rate review,
and that increase has been about one hundred and eighty
five percent for US just over that.

Speaker 19 (39:06):
Three year period.

Speaker 34 (39:07):
Monday's hearing is an example of what people can expect
throughout the rest of the month, as the next meeting
is sent for Thursday, and Thursday's hearing will be at
Southeast Community Services at six pm. Their customers can also
write to the iu R c via snail mail or online,
and there you have it.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten. Three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten. I'm encouraged and enthused
about the fact that the public is speaking out and
the public is going on the record for the iur C,
the Indian Utility Regulatory Commission about this and so vegetation costs. Really,

(39:47):
who can y'all pass costs along to if grass grows
a little bit more in your yard?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
Who do we pass along to, Cameron?

Speaker 5 (39:56):
You can't.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
That's what a friendly ghost.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
If it's a business, the the cost of operating a business,
like I said, as a friend told me yesterday, put
it in your operating expenses and in your budget. The
mayor just submitted his budget.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
It's no different than inflation, the cost of living going
up every five teen years. You have to make adjustments.
If you're still making x amount of dollars, whether it
be hourly or salary, you still have to pay your
bills at the end of the day, so you have
to make the adjustments. Cut out certain expenditure, certain things
you don't need that are want more so than needs,
and make the adjustments.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Mega million dollar bonuses don't help either.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
To the C suites, Mega multimillion dollar bonuses do not help.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
And I think you can protect those bonuses.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
Just as soon as you feel like something's going to
be a little bit short, well let's throw it out
there on the on the consumer. And like the reporter
was saying, we're already paying the increase that just went
into effect that they asked for not too terribly long ago,
and here they are back in front of the commission
asking for more.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
Think people forgot.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
They think people forgot. Yeah, you're having a hard time
paying just from one month to the next to.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Keep receiving I know, I know, so yeah, but for
this new era, they got at for that, they got
an app for that.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Yes, indeed, indeed, uh three one seven for zero thirteen ten.
Got a lot of calls about the let's go let's
go back to the phone lines. Laura, go ahead, how are.

Speaker 36 (41:16):
You good afternoon? I was calling about a Yes, I
went to hey a disconnect notice. Uh, yesterday the kiosks.
You know they used to have the kiosk there for customers.
You know, they closed the office. Well you don't have
an office because well, you know, the kioskas are gone.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Now where were they? They're closed no longer, But I
mean where were they located?

Speaker 36 (41:44):
The kiosks all that side of the old il building,
you know right there, you could go up there. They
had two and you can.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Make your oh right around twenty second and what was
that Illinois? What's in that buildings in the building now?

Speaker 3 (42:00):
Nothing? Nothing, nothing.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
Years ago.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
Actually they could sell that building and make some money.

Speaker 36 (42:09):
Well what was so what was so frightening is that
there there was no way to pay your bill there.
So you no longer can pay your bill at the kiosk.
So it says you could scan the thing, So I
scan the thing, so you have you could pay it online,
which no bad. But the other one said sixteen forty

(42:30):
five North Meridian. Well that's Waldgreens, but that's the only
place that you could pay your bill. Otherwise you do
it through their. Yeah, there's no customer service, literally, but.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
They want the customers to pay for their you know,
their expenditures, don't They no customer service, But customers keep
giving us, you know, extra money because we just simply
cannot afford to pay for these.

Speaker 4 (42:55):
They want you to take the time out to go
through the prompts and actually you can talk to a
customer service rep now.

Speaker 36 (43:02):
Yeah, but I can't understand why. I mean, people have
gone through that building for years, but even if they
closed the building, you still have the option of the KEIOF.
I mean, even the gas company gives you the option
of option of the KEIOF even though you can't even
go in there anymore to pay your bill there.

Speaker 14 (43:20):
Last minute bill things.

Speaker 9 (43:21):
You know, instead of on line.

Speaker 36 (43:22):
Everybody's not an online person. I just noticed that because
I haven't been there in a while.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
But I was like, oh my gosh, it's a form
of a corporate coldness that we're all learning to to
try to navigate and deal with. But you know, even
with all of that, and it's a cost cutting measure,
there's no doubt it's a cost cutting measure.

Speaker 8 (43:46):
And yet.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
I don't know. I don't know what to say, Laura.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
I hope that some progress is going to be made
with these these utility rate public hearings. I hope that
there's going to be some progress made with those. Yeah,
because we are only hope, we are our only hope.
We have to keep talking.

Speaker 36 (44:08):
Absolutely, But what what one last thing?

Speaker 14 (44:10):
What happened to all the people that used.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
To work in that building.

Speaker 3 (44:13):
You know what I'm I'll try to find it. I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
I'm assuming they got laid off and they are else.
That's what I was absorbed in other areas. Would you say,
that's what I was told them.

Speaker 4 (44:22):
Some of our callers are called in. We first brought
the issue that a lot of those people got laid
off when the company got bought out on IPO sold
their company. As a lot of people lost their jobs.
They didn't they didn't keep them. They lost a lot
of jobs in that in that process.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Yeah, cutting cost cutting, IPL's business model and A S's
business model completely different.

Speaker 36 (44:43):
Yeah, well, same thing I guess happened at the gas
company because you know, you can't go in there anywhere,
but at least they do have the kiosks. But you
know that they had plenty of employees inside there as well. Yeah,
but anyway, I just thought I would share that. I
thought I probably felt like I was the only person
in the world that knew that yesterday when I pulled
up there, because I was just in shock. So thank

(45:04):
you for your time.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
Thank you for sharing that, Laura. Now you know more
folks know, I mean that's that's crazy. Yeah, yeah, okay, okay,
all right, thank you. Three one seven four eight zero
thirteen ten three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten
Lifestyles with Eric.

Speaker 10 (45:19):
Go ahead, Hey, happy Taco Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
Oh well, you always call on Taco Tuesday, and I
always forget to get uh taco too.

Speaker 3 (45:28):
We gotta have Mexican food tonight. I don't have to. Yeah, that's.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Lifestyles here, here's the weirdest thing. I don't like them,
I really know, but okay, let me put it this way,
and I try to figure it out. It's kind of
like with chocolate.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
I wish I liked chocolate and Mexican food because people
who like those things tend to really enjoy it, and
they tend to really have a good time with it.
And you know, whenever a group of family, friends, or
you know whatever, whenever everybody wants to go out, oh
let's get Mexican. Let's get mad, and I'll eat it.
But it's probably my least favorite. My least favorite ethnic

(46:12):
food would.

Speaker 7 (46:13):
Would be everything. I just like tacos.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Well, you know what, and I'm gonna tell you. I'm
going to tell you what I get when I'm with
the crowd. I always get the chimmy chankas, which probably
because they're deep fried and there there goes back.

Speaker 6 (46:25):
And that's what I did.

Speaker 10 (46:26):
I did something similar like.

Speaker 6 (46:27):
That, what I did.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Yeah, but I don't know why. I just don't.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
I never I mean there, well that chocolate and pizza.
You just don't see me, are I just want? Now
there's other things that I.

Speaker 10 (46:39):
But Taco Tuesday, but I got it, not your guilty pleasure,
tacos and burritos and nachos.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
But I'll eat them.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
I'll eat some nachos at a at a ball game
or I mean, I'll eat it, but I won't ever
ask for it. You know, if that's all there is
to eat, then of course. But but a lot of
folks love hus. Yeah, I'll fit a lot of Now,
glacamole is the one exception. I'll eat that on I'll
eat that.

Speaker 10 (47:05):
But anyway, go ahead, what were you Well, we kind
of we kind of talked about this a little bit.
I think last week I kind of brought up as
I think, well, we we automatically know they're definitely a
for profit company. Uh, and you know my thing about
the regulatory committee, will they continue to even though they're
allowing us to come into the meetings or not the meetings.

(47:27):
But the I guess whatever they have, whatever double carings
will at some point the regulatory committee say no more,
because you know they went up. They just went up
my bill. Like I said, I'm a single man, I
live alone. I'm on the budget.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
They're gonna tell ae s no more. You've had enough.

Speaker 10 (47:46):
It would be nice, yeah, I'm saying, is it would
be nice for them to say, listen, we get it.
You're you're for profit company. You've been with Indianapolis what
the last four or five years?

Speaker 2 (47:57):
Now?

Speaker 7 (47:58):
Has it been that long?

Speaker 10 (47:59):
Okay, you guys have went up on your increases this
amount of times. As we camera was saying, if your
pay isn't going up, if other things aren't going up,
I understand every few years you have to make adjustments.
If you have a business, you have to make adjustments
for that you have to spend money on. They were

(48:20):
just out in my backyard cutting cutting the lot. The
you know, the linemen were back there because if we
had a bad storm, I've got a pretty nice sized
backyard that the the power lines could be affected. So
so that means that if they go up on the bill,
we're paying for them cutting our tree stuffs back because
they have to pay a company to come out and
do it. Well, that's not our problem.

Speaker 12 (48:43):
Our thing.

Speaker 6 (48:44):
Absolutely.

Speaker 10 (48:45):
If I'm selling, if I'm selling fish dinner, which I
do occasionally, I have to make I have to include
that in my profit. I mean my cost corn meal,
the fish, the oil. There are things that I have
to put in costs so that I won't have to
or so I won't have to increase my increase my dinners.

(49:06):
So it's just it's common sense, you know. And for
them to keep continue to do this over and over again,
it's just getting super frustrating with the Indianapolis people. It's
getting frustrated. We're getting frustrated with not only that, but
remember when they couldn't get our bills correct.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
Remember, Yeah, and everybody got hit with all at once.

Speaker 10 (49:28):
Yes, you know, and you know you had people that
were confused thinking that hey, I don't have to pay
my bill. I've known some people that thought they didn't
have to pay their bill. I'm like, no, that's not
what they're saying. But me getting an eight hundred dollars
bill and then calling them and saying, Hey, why's my
bill eight hundred dollars.

Speaker 9 (49:46):
Well, we know it's a mistake.

Speaker 10 (49:47):
Just keep paying it what you were paying and this
and that. We'll straighten it out eventually. IPL was a
great company. I appreciated the customer service. I appreciated the
fact that they were really going to work with you
on whatever it is you might have been going through.
And I think that's the reason why A E. S
has cut out all that customer service stuff. They don't
want to deal with the Indiana the Indianapolis people. They

(50:09):
are just customers, period. They just want their money. That's it.
That's that's spanky on the bottom. Go home, that's it.
I mean, uh, I don't We're not happy with this.
Nobody in Indianapolis is happy with this. We're just not
happy with it.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
And yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
And I'm just saying, and I hope that folks continue
to go because there's three more.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
There's another.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
Another meeting this Thursday, uh at down on South Shelby Street,
nine oh one Shelby Street at the Southeast Community Center,
and then there's going to be two two more next week,
one at the new Augusta North's Public Academy on Road
of ball. Uh, that's Monday, and then next Wednesday the
Fort out there, Fort Benjamin Harrison, the Fordaga.

Speaker 10 (50:51):
I'll try my hardest to make I wish it was
something close thing. I live off Cold Spring Road. I
wish it was something.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
Or is it probably Cloes Road.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
Probably the closest one to that would be Monday's eight
twenty five over at New Augusta, because that's gonna be somewhere. Okay, Yeah,
that's gonna be probably Yeah, yeah, sixtieth and yeah, not
too too terribly far from.

Speaker 7 (51:14):
No, no, not fard on.

Speaker 10 (51:15):
My kid went to New Augusta.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
Okay, you know where it is.

Speaker 10 (51:19):
Yeah, So listen Cameron. I know Cameron has heard about
this and everybody else. I'm sure Danny Bridges has to.
So what is everybody thinking, I'm you're not like to
stir it up a little bit. What does everybody think
about them firing women's cheerleaders and hiring from the other
community men cheerleaders to prance around and dance with bomb bombs.

(51:39):
They're they're losing a lot. Yeah, they're losing a lot
from ticket holders the NFL in Minnesota Vikings. Yes, the
Minnesota Vikings have fired a few cheerleaders. Yees, So I did.
I did a topic on this last night. So there
are a few NFL teams that are now firing cheerleaders
and hiring a couple of the other people that are

(52:01):
part of that community and their men, and they're saying
that they're going to be losing ticket sales and things
like that because we older men don't want to see that.
It's kid friendly. People don't really want to see men.
When I was a kid, there were basement there were
men that were in the cheerleading squad a little. They
would pick up the cheerleaders, throw them up in the

(52:23):
air and things like that. But they weren't dancing around
with pom poms and you know what I mean. They
weren't acting flamboyant and all that stuff. They just helped
the cheerleaders out.

Speaker 29 (52:32):
That was it.

Speaker 10 (52:34):
So let me have somebody call then and yeah, I'm
looking at up. They know a little bit more about that.

Speaker 3 (52:40):
What's that you're talking about?

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Minnesota Vikings, one team in the NFL, is getting rid
of the female.

Speaker 10 (52:49):
A couple a few females, and they hired a couple
from the other community men that will now be dancing
in the cheerleading. Yeah, and a couple of others are
taking the same I think the Raiders possibly are taking
doing the same thing, and they're going to be losing
ticket sales because older men don't want to see that.

(53:11):
I'm not going to get into it. I'm not preaching hate.
I'm not preaching hate any of that. So i just
want to see what anybody else may have to say
about that therapy that.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
I'm sure that'll come across one of our desks at
some point.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
The people out here I'm looking now, it's yeah.

Speaker 10 (53:30):
Google it. Yeah, somebody google it?

Speaker 6 (53:32):
And what about it?

Speaker 19 (53:35):
Who made that that?

Speaker 3 (53:35):
What's the what's the big deal?

Speaker 10 (53:37):
I mean is that just like, well, the big deal
is that they just the big deal is people just
want to see the normal stuff. I think everybody, if
you go to a game, you know they're going to
be cheerleaders, girls dancing around. I don't know if you're
looking at them like that or not, but people just
want to see the normal. I'm going back to the
word normal, Tina. People just want to stick to normals

(53:58):
with some stuff.

Speaker 3 (53:59):
I'm not having, you know, normal or not normal. Perhaps
traditional because that the female women.

Speaker 10 (54:10):
People correct to be traditional better, traditional better.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
Traditionally there's been women, and I'm trying to figure out
why they're scaling back on the women and.

Speaker 10 (54:18):
Using nobody in because somebody has talking to them.

Speaker 3 (54:23):
Or somebody's filed a suit. I wonder.

Speaker 2 (54:25):
Yeah, yeah, let me read up on lifestyles, trying to
figure out what's going on. All right, thank you, all right,
appreciate it. We have a color online three no name,
but go ahead.

Speaker 3 (54:35):
How are you hi?

Speaker 9 (54:37):
How are you doing?

Speaker 3 (54:38):
I'm doing well?

Speaker 9 (54:39):
How are you?

Speaker 37 (54:40):
I'm good?

Speaker 7 (54:41):
Listen.

Speaker 9 (54:41):
I was calling because I was one after I saw
the news were these uh agis UH meetings are being
held at UH? And I was wondering, why wouldn't they
have been closer to people of color or in our neighborhoods,
And you know, they're so far out that we're unable

(55:03):
to attend, And I'm wondering, why wouldn't they have it
at a library closer? Now, I stay off of Michigan
Road on seventy first. There's a library down and was there?

Speaker 27 (55:15):
No, they're right there.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
I mean, if you're off seventy first or Michigan Road,
you could walk to New Augusta North Public Academy because
it's less than a mile from where you live.

Speaker 9 (55:24):
Okay, I said, know, Well, my point is that still
they're not And even if they pass these all, let's
say they do raise the prices of this bill here,
I mean, we're not going to benefit coming to me,
it doesn't seem that every time when when something is
being raised at the neighborhoods that we people will color

(55:46):
live in don't benefit from it. You know, our roads
is just as raggedy as they're all did out, and
they just patch them again. They're going out to these
predominantly white nay the hood and recaving their roads and
and doing all the things that they need to do
out there. And yet it's still in it again. In

(56:08):
my neighborhood. They're just closing down a lot of stores
such as CVS. Uh are they closed down the marsh
that was up there. They're possibly gonna close down the
wall rings that I'm hearing. They closed down the Glitch place.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
We talked that a lot.

Speaker 9 (56:24):
Yeah, you know, they're shutting everything down and they're not
We're not benefiting from none of this. They're just raising
the prices and hoping that uh uh uh it passes
and then we'll get the butt with the run bunt
of the deal. And I don't think that's fair, nor
do I think that it's right where they having these

(56:44):
meetings that because and I and.

Speaker 3 (56:46):
I probably you know what here.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
But here's here's the thing. I'm gonna push back a
little bit on this, you know what, so well, we
have got to stop complaining about. You know, first of all,
they're they're only required by law to have won the
required by law.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
Thank you for your call. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
They're only required by law to have one. And this
is kind of rubbing me the wrong way. I don't
know why. But man, you know they agreed to four
plus A right in camp. You can write it in
until September the second.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
You can write it. You don't have to leave your house.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
You can write your objection in until September the second,
until next month. I agree that, you know, the neighborhood
and the economy and all kinds of things.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
It's it's all over the place. But mister, when you.

Speaker 2 (57:37):
Know when they are only required by law to do one,
and they set up and do four plus or write
in all the way until well after the last one ends.
The last one ends on August twenty seventh, you can
write your submitted You write and submit your request through
September the ninth. We've got to stop thinking about what
we don't have and start working with what we do.

(57:57):
It's just like the you know, the folks who are
in here that are working with the young people. We've
got to start thinking with an athletic mindset. Do not
start talking about all the losses, the losses, the wind
loss for you know, the fever are what they won
eighteen and lost sixteen eighteen and sixteen. You don't start
with sixteen losses and say, oh, there was terrible. We
keep losing, We keep losing. If we're gonna do something

(58:19):
about it, it has to start somewhere. It has to
start somewhere. I'm trying to keep it positive.

Speaker 3 (58:25):
You know, we have a chance.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
And if you know, if you live in seventy first
in Michigan Road, and I promise you I know the
area well.

Speaker 3 (58:33):
My kids went to New Augusta too. If you live
in seventy.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
First and Michigan Road and New Augusta North Public Academy
is a sixty four to fifty Rodi Bar road, I
kid you not. That is less than a mile to
get there and if you can't, then you can submit
your written comment all the way through September the ninth.
Start somewhere, look at the opportunities that are here. Start

(58:59):
somewhere and do something. But just saying they don't you know,
I don't like the weather they put Why didn't they
put it in our neighborhood?

Speaker 19 (59:06):
Why you got some at all?

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Now, if we'd only had one, you'd have been complaining
about one. Probably there's four.

Speaker 19 (59:13):
Figure it out.

Speaker 2 (59:15):
We gotta stop thinking about what we don't have, because
I'm telling you what, we're in a fight these people.
You know, these folks aren't playing with what they're taking
away from us. So we want to continue to look
at things like that. Go ahead, but you know, we
got to start turning some of that thinking around and
make some progress here. Because if you feel like you're defeated,

(59:36):
you already are. We'll be right back.

that there is an opportunity for those who can't make
it to any of the four to write down what
they want to write. I talked to a friend who
is an attorney, and she said she's going to submit
her written request because she doesn't have the opportunity because

(01:02:51):
of her job and some of her other legal work.
She can't get to any of the public sessions. But
she's going to write in her objection to the raid.

accepted all the way through uh September the second. Okay,
let's go back to the phone lines. Let's go back
to the phone lines. And I mean this with all sincerity.

(01:03:51):
We kind of stop the stinking thinking. You know, at
some point in time we kind of stop the stinking thinking.

Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
You know, we we try to keep it on the
op and up. We try to keep things positive and yes,
you know a lot of it. A lot of things
are are terrible and they shouldn't be. So what can
we do? We gotta keep it?

Speaker 19 (01:04:11):
What can we do?

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
That's that's my that's my position. Well, yeah it's and
I understand venting, but what can we do? Uh So anyway?

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
Uh three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three
one seven four eight zero, uh thirteen ten?

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
Pat, go ahead? How are you?

Speaker 9 (01:04:29):
I have to say?

Speaker 14 (01:04:30):
I just love you because you were straight to the point.
I don't forgot what I'm calling you, straight to the point.
We gotta stop doing that, and we we're our almost
enemy sometimes and we gotta stop doing that.

Speaker 10 (01:04:45):
Now.

Speaker 14 (01:04:46):
I remember what I've called you for you I told
you last week and representeds did call me, and I
thank you for that. We haven't got things clear yet,
but we we did. You had a gentleman that called
in that said, no, a lady that called in is
she didn't know what the employees was. They're actually working
from their house.

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
Oh okay, Well that's good inside house. That's good inside
work for the house.

Speaker 14 (01:05:11):
And this is why I don't understand why they need
it ray increase, because are you're paying into the utilities?
Yeah it's lazy, right, I mean these people working from
their house, are you compensating them? You don't have a building,
no more? To run a building, I just to run
a building.

Speaker 7 (01:05:27):
A run a building costs a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
Yeah that's true.

Speaker 14 (01:05:31):
So you're taking money now you don't have a building.
They're working out of their house. Rate increase.

Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Vegetation. They gotta cut trees.

Speaker 14 (01:05:40):
They gotta cut trees.

Speaker 19 (01:05:41):
If you have If you have a.

Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Yard and you can't do what you pay somebody to
do it, you don't. You don't charge the yard, you
you allow for it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
That's just part of operating a business. I don't understand.
But the first thing they want to do and do
it regularly and often. From what it looks like, they
already got a rate cress now under way.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
They want to do it again.

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
We got it, we got church customers more. That's the easiest, sloppiest,
laziest way to do business.

Speaker 14 (01:06:08):
To me, they're over charged me. The last time I
talked to you, I said, they never corrected the old bill.
They said for two years they never remembered that deal
was high. And know some people pay to some people didn't.

Speaker 36 (01:06:19):
But the problem me is that I.

Speaker 14 (01:06:20):
Don't think they ever took money off of nobody's deal.
I think they just rolled it over to.

Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
Now as they don't give you no kind of break.

Speaker 14 (01:06:29):
You know, It's like, come on, now, that my bill
was very high, and I don't even watch TV team now,
I really don't watch TV like that. You know, I'm
just very, very busy, So I don't really watch TV
like that. So why is my bill like twelve thirteen
hundred dollars? You know, I'm understanding that I'm the only
person in the house who what's going.

Speaker 5 (01:06:48):
On with this?

Speaker 14 (01:06:49):
You know? So, and I also wanted to say something.
Is it the oldest person that needs you? Wanted them
to write a letter or something. If they need help,
I won't be willing to help them.

Speaker 9 (01:07:00):
Right there.

Speaker 14 (01:07:00):
Allowed her to get it to the people they needed
to get it to.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Okay, I'm trying to remember what was it. I'm trying
to remember the call. It's not ringing it, but do
you remember the call camera? I'm sorry what she was saying?
And older, do you remember what day it was?

Speaker 33 (01:07:16):
Oh?

Speaker 14 (01:07:17):
Well, the gentleman that did you just talk to. He
probably don't know how to did it either? Well you
said he could walk. I mean he's right around the corner.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (01:07:28):
I worn't a lot of elderly people, so I really
trying to help.

Speaker 4 (01:07:31):
No, No, I know, I know, and and I'm just
saying that talking about the call, I think that was
Charles or that it was the guy that you were
trying to help out over the phone. It was like
a week ago or so. Oh you a matter of fact,
I can go to I can go to our messages
because I see you in it text.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Okay, yeah, they.

Speaker 14 (01:07:50):
Needed to help. I'll be wanting to help them both
because I don't know what they're doing. But I can
really peace. The address the post role was the fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
It was a post road is six zero zero to
North Post Road sixty.

Speaker 30 (01:08:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
I'd love to put these on our you know, on
our website, but I don't have the you know, it's
not acting right, don't have the access.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
So but soon soon we'll be able to put stuff
like this on our Yeah.

Speaker 14 (01:08:22):
Everything right on point.

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 14 (01:08:30):
That what they're working from home.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
Okay, they're working from home. I appreciate that. Thank you
very much, thank you, thank you you say Malcolm Shannon.

Speaker 4 (01:08:39):
From August eleventh episode.

Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
We did that Monday.

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Okay, I'll look it up. Let's go back to the
phone lines. Ron, go ahead, how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
I'm okay, i'd thank you.

Speaker 17 (01:08:57):
I'm uh go with life styles here for a minute,
and just let everyone know. I don't watch very much
NFL since Kaepernick anyway, but I have not seen even
the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. I have not seen the camera
just intentionally panned to them during the game in years.

(01:09:18):
And like I say, you have a choice. You either
watch the game or you don't. You're not watching for
the cheerleaders. I want I reserve. Yeah, I'll reserve my
opinion or whether I agree with it or not, because
I don't have a dog in this hunt and some
every I think everyone in the United States can trace
uh a uh l gb Q person somewhere in their

(01:09:41):
in their family history. But what I worry about instead
of the who's cheerleading out there on the field, I'm
worried about whether I'll be able to vote in the midterms.
That's what and and what you were telling the gentleman
that was discussing the uh the acs. Old Madison used
to say, what are you gonna do about it? You know,

(01:10:04):
I was just telling I was just telling my wife
earlier today. I said, I saw a twenty two year
old Freshhampton rise in the Panther organization. At twenty two
years old, he could have taken over that entire organization.
And I saw him targeted. Where our twenty two year
olds a day are wanting to shoot each other. You know,

(01:10:27):
We've got to do, Like you say, what are you
going to do about it? Okay, So what I'm doing.
I'm gonna try to get with some organizations and what
we're gonna do is try to flip the switch on
the Republicans. We're gonna register as Republicans and voters Democrats.

Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
Well, you know, I've heard of that strategy. I've heard
that strategy.

Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
Yes, and even with this redistricting, because Indiana, I guess
is seriously considering it right now, just like Donald Trump,
and I was gonna get to that in a minute.
He is going to sign an executive order soon that
will get rid of mail in ballots and what else
let me see what else?

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
Voting machine?

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Yeah, which he wants to paper, Yeah, he wants, and
so I'm sure that the lawsuits will hit the courts.
The men at the ink is uh is the ink
touches the page on that executive order.

Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
But that's what they're looking to do, that's what they're
looking at.

Speaker 17 (01:11:23):
My last comment, if if if I were the president
for one day, okay, for one day, I would issue
an executive order declared the Heritage Foundation a terrorist organization.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Oh okay, yes, thank you, thank you, Ron, And you
knows as egregious as these executive orders are that he's
kicking out quicker than like an assembly line. They're only
as good as long as he's in office, So every
single one of them can be reversed, which is why

(01:11:58):
I'm kind of surprised that so many people are, uh,
you know, bowing down and kissing the ring and capitulating
to everything these executive orders say. Because you could you
can have a court case that could tie those things
up for the next three or four years.

Speaker 3 (01:12:13):
So but you have to have money to do that
and things of that nature. So I get it. I
do get it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Indeed, let's see line two, is it oh bad? Or
ovid Line two?

Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
Hello?

Speaker 37 (01:12:27):
Hello, Hello, This is a bad oh bad.

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
Okay, how are you? I did pronounce your name.

Speaker 6 (01:12:33):
Right, Yes you did.

Speaker 37 (01:12:35):
I just want to say, you know, not pushing back
at anybody.

Speaker 6 (01:12:38):
You know that.

Speaker 38 (01:12:41):
Voting, writing letters, asking for things from this uh, from
this government, whether it be local or you know, national,
it's not going to help us because they are our
enemies and uh a majority of us that have woken

(01:13:06):
up and we're at the brink of claiming our nationality
back and and uh, you know, as the indigenous people of.

Speaker 37 (01:13:15):
This land, and we're also taking our biblical nationality back,
identity back. And so that's where all the pressure is
coming from to uh to uh. You know, they're tired,
they're tired of dealing with that, they're tired of tweaking everything.
You know, every time we wake up, they have to reconstruct,

(01:13:36):
reconstruct us. And so that's not nothing's going to help
us because they are you know, they've got the system
in place, racism and eugenics and everything set in place
to uh to get rid of us now. So nothing's
going to help us voting or.

Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
So, so I gess that's what do we do then?
What what will help?

Speaker 37 (01:14:04):
What will we gather gather together under uh? The cohesives,
niff ohesis, sniffness of our identity and just that declare
that we're not we don't want to participate in the
system anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
M Okay, well that's the thought.

Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
Yeah, we gotta do that.

Speaker 6 (01:14:23):
That's gonna help. But that's what the Bible says.

Speaker 37 (01:14:25):
We don't have to learn how to believe in the
Bible or you know, just give it up, because that's
the prophecies in the Last Day that they will say,
uh you, we are in the land of our captivity,
that we are the sons of the Living God. They're
gonna they're gonna get their arm twisted back by the
plague of Egypt so bad and the fact we see

(01:14:47):
how that what that crowd did to Donald Trump. You know,
we're gonna have your opinions gathering with us when we
do that. But until we say who we are, one
or two of us in and it's not gonna help.
But you see what that crowd did too, and they
know that they know, you know, I don't care how
big the military their power is. When everybody got together

(01:15:10):
on one consensus and expel their government because we can
govern ourselves.

Speaker 6 (01:15:16):
You know, we're loving people.

Speaker 37 (01:15:19):
And so we're going to see it happen, but we
need to.

Speaker 9 (01:15:22):
Do it fast.

Speaker 37 (01:15:22):
The reason why I'm saying something because on my YouTube channel,
Old Bed is, well you don't mammy sanity no, go ahead, go.

Speaker 4 (01:15:31):
Ahead, Old Bed it is.

Speaker 37 (01:15:33):
But that's what I teach the Civics and how we
need to gather together and all it's all on YouTube
and TikTok is white people, Africans and everybody saying who
we are and what we need to do. That's even
embold than them to bring this government down and together
together because they know when the righteous are in authority,

(01:15:56):
we are loving people. The people rejoice, so they're gonna
we're gonna be better off when we govern ourselves and
we're gonna have respect, go back to God's law. We
learned how to treat each other. We're loving people basically.
And there I just watched the channel now with four
or five white so called white people. Uh he thought

(01:16:18):
she send it saying that it's all about jealousy and
they're trying of living like that.

Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
All right, O, Bet, thank you very much for your thoughts.
Interesting thoughts. Indeed, uh three one seven for a zero
thirteen ten? Uh Sam, go ahead, how are.

Speaker 39 (01:16:36):
You, and I'm so glad you come down because you
were going there for a moment.

Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
Oh you think I was gone. You know, it's just
it's just hard sometimes. Yeah, it's just hard. You gotta
we we gotta, we gotta.

Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
You know, change your thoughts, you can change your life,
you know, change your mind, you can change things. And
I know we have challenges. There's not a person on
this that doesn't have a challenge of some sort, Present
Company included. I have several, but we can't major in
the minors. I mean, those challenges to me are minor.
I mean overall, I can do stuff and that's all.
I'm just We're just trying to realize what.

Speaker 24 (01:17:14):
We can do.

Speaker 9 (01:17:15):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Three scenario one, Let me ask you say, that's that's
a I'm glad you called. Which Cameron are you talking about?
Oh my god, you have Well there's Cameron Riddle, who
uh you know, works at Fox fifty nine, and then
he's here on Sunday with his show on Sunday mornings
at eight am, caught open Lines. And then there's Cameron here,

(01:17:40):
you know, Cameron our tech, our technical. Yeah, so are
you calling it to Cameron Riddle? Are you calling into
because I text Cameron Riddle yesterday during the show and
Cameron said, wrong Cameron.

Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
So so Cameron, here have you heard it? Did you?
And Sam Talker did he.

Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
Give you have a number from saying I thought it
was camera Ridder this whole time, I.

Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Thought it was Cameron Riddle too, But Cameron said it
is the wrong cameraon. So who did you leave it with.

Speaker 17 (01:18:09):
I'm not sure what's the one in the camera because
I don't know neither one.

Speaker 6 (01:18:11):
Of those guys.

Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
You just know you talk to a camera.

Speaker 17 (01:18:14):
Huh, yeah, that's all I know.

Speaker 39 (01:18:16):
Now, maybe you can get it unless you I don't
know how you got worked on the network or something,
might give out my email addressed and you get.

Speaker 5 (01:18:25):
Hold to me.

Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
What Oh no, don't hang up this cameraon? Will take it? Sam?
Sam this, Cameron said, he'll take it.

Speaker 4 (01:18:32):
Yeah, but when you get when you get off your ear,
don't hang up. I'll click it over and I'll get
your information when you get in talking to all right, Okay.

Speaker 39 (01:18:39):
The second of scenario is the solution that we have
after all of these town hall meeting. What do you
see that, sister pa You said, let us have our
old town hall needing. The third thing I will just
say is that.

Speaker 6 (01:19:01):
Doctor Brown, Tomlin Brown, you already have talked to the.

Speaker 40 (01:19:06):
President of this solution, Yes you have, Okay, Okay, I
could have him to get in touch with you so
you can talk to him, to doctor Tomlin Brown.

Speaker 39 (01:19:17):
Okay, once I give this camera and my email you
just emailed me, and.

Speaker 6 (01:19:22):
I give you the information.

Speaker 36 (01:19:23):
Okay, okay, cool, all right, Okay, they want to thank
you and calm down.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
Calming down, I'm as calm as I can be. So Sam,
stay on the line and camera will get your info.
And in the meantime, let's go back to the phone lines. George,
go ahead, George, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
Sam.

Speaker 6 (01:19:43):
How are you doing? How are you doing that?

Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
I'm doing well. How are you doing today?

Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
Sir?

Speaker 7 (01:19:47):
I will play.

Speaker 41 (01:19:52):
Today market twice from stock as was trade at thirteen
thirty eight a year. I remember I told him to
a long time ago. Everybody should go buy a couple
of share of the stock. I know some people may
not have cash, clothes to go out there, and spendable
cash to do it. But if a vote ever comes
along about the executive leadership and your direction, each share

(01:20:16):
offers you a shareholder's stake in the company.

Speaker 6 (01:20:21):
In the corporation.

Speaker 41 (01:20:22):
So you can go buy stocks on each rade robin
Hood cash out and each one of them should give
you a voter share.

Speaker 11 (01:20:30):
Now seeing that.

Speaker 41 (01:20:33):
Lifestyle, hear and him grew up as chid and we
had a good friend of ours. His mother told us
both uh and their son some good information said, whenever
you got some extra cash laying around or whatever, put
it on your light bill, on your phone bill.

Speaker 7 (01:20:47):
Don't wait till the phone bill and a light deal.

Speaker 11 (01:20:49):
Yeah, don't wait till to do it.

Speaker 41 (01:20:52):
And I've gotten I fell off of that for a
little while.

Speaker 7 (01:20:55):
I got back on it, and now my bill they
owe me a credit.

Speaker 3 (01:20:58):
Yeah, so they alle me.

Speaker 10 (01:21:00):
Chris.

Speaker 41 (01:21:01):
I'm just saying, I know some people may be on
a budget, or they may not have an extra disposable
cash for extra fifteen twenty thirty dollars on the bio,
you know, whenever they have it. But if you could
do that, that might release some of the pressure off
when you get a big beetle and you'll bill jumps
from one.

Speaker 17 (01:21:17):
To three hundred.

Speaker 19 (01:21:19):
Yeah, yeah, that might.

Speaker 41 (01:21:21):
Take some of the pressure off. I'll pot off this, I'll.

Speaker 3 (01:21:23):
Say, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:28):
Yeah, And the discipline that it takes though, because I
have to tell you, I you know, I probably am
one of the most undisciplined people. Uh, I know when
it came to stuff like that before. Now I'm much
much better now. But before I was like, oh, I
think about it for a minute, and they go, okay,
let me do this, let.

Speaker 9 (01:21:45):
Me do that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
And I used to think about doing that, like with
your with credit cards or whatever. But I learned to
wait until they're bill because what you're paying isn't necessarily
going toward so I forget.

Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
How it goes.

Speaker 2 (01:21:58):
But and the other thing you can do to believe
it or not, like if you pay your if you
have a mortgage, you paid five or ten dollars a month,
and additional toward the principal, ten, fifteen dollars, twenty dollars,
you know, whatever it is towards the principal, you would
be amazed. And how quickly your balance goes down, you
would be amazed. If you can keep doing that. And

(01:22:20):
I've been doing that for a while and that does
that does work pretty well. But yeah, there's a lot
of old fashioned tricks that are not necessarily they don't
have to be old fashioned They're just just a lot
of wisdom. My grandmother used to drop two or three
dollars in her jar. Every time she broke a five
or a ten. She'd take a couple of dollar or
two and put it in there and shut the door

(01:22:43):
in that little cup, shut the door going. And she
always had she always had some money when she needed something,
you know, some extra stuff.

Speaker 9 (01:22:49):
Yeah, yeah, I I I jor.

Speaker 41 (01:22:53):
I'll put it, put it in there.

Speaker 7 (01:22:54):
And I'm.

Speaker 41 (01:22:56):
Particularly give one tastic in the other.

Speaker 17 (01:22:58):
Day a little bit of it.

Speaker 41 (01:23:00):
I had almost eleven dollars just changed. I'm like, wow,
I hadn't even touched a big portion of it.

Speaker 14 (01:23:07):
Changes.

Speaker 6 (01:23:07):
I'm just grabbed him out the jar.

Speaker 41 (01:23:09):
Yeah, I'm gonna say one more thing. There was the
guy was talking about the cheerleaders thing. I'm an old
I'm not an old school I'm an out onesdie type
of guy. You know, me out Bundy. You know, I'm
the type of guy to go to the bar with
his buddy and I'm and I literally got a big
Bundy at home.

Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
So okay, So you have a smart, witty wife.

Speaker 4 (01:23:33):
That's good.

Speaker 14 (01:23:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 41 (01:23:34):
And I'm like I was on the elevator with the
Miami Dolphins cheerleaders back in the night, and I was like,
you know, I was like, I was a head and
I'm like, oh my god. You know, I felt like
a bunt alan gripped and everybody, you know. And I
watched the game, and I look forward to seeing the
Cowboys cheerleaders and the Raiders cheerleaders and the Dolphins cheerleaders
the coach. But I will agree, I don't want to

(01:23:57):
see a man out there going around year with pom pom.
That's going to ruin the game for me, just to
see a guy, you know, I'm used to the guy.
I'm the guy that's throwing the T shirts.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
And you know what, George, I almost wonder if this
is not a PR stunt because there's so many people
that pay no attention to that part of.

Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
The game and what have you.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
And now when you go to these games, you're gonna
start paying attention to who's out there and who's not.
I just gotta wonder sometimes maybe maybe some of.

Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
These marketing folks are trying to figure out ways to
up eyes on the product. I don't know, I don't know.
I'm just I'm a little suspicious of that, uh.

Speaker 41 (01:24:38):
Because I'm like I said, because I'm used to saying
I watched you know, we watched the girls I find
and cheerleading everything. You're like, okay, you you know, that's
just me. I'm just I'm just an average guy, you know,
school guy. You know, like, hey, I hang out with
the fellas and we watched the game. But I don't
want to see I'm keeping. I don't want to see
a guy out there with make up all with tom

(01:25:01):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 36 (01:25:02):
I'm just the guy.

Speaker 41 (01:25:05):
You guys pick the girls up and throw them in
there and.

Speaker 6 (01:25:09):
The audience.

Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
My daughter was a cheerleader and she said, they are
the base, their bases, I guess they call them.

Speaker 5 (01:25:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
Yeah, and she she was, she's taller, so she wasn't
a flyer.

Speaker 7 (01:25:20):
She was.

Speaker 3 (01:25:21):
She was a base too.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
But yeah, some of the guys, because they do the
heavy lifting and the work, because they tend to be
when they have them, they tend to be stronger, uh
and have a little bit more endurance to hold uh
a little bit longer than some of the girls do.

Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
So but yeah, I don't know, I'm gonna look that.
I got to read up on this. This is interesting.
So I appreciate lifestyles for bringing a tall attention.

Speaker 6 (01:25:46):
About the pot.

Speaker 36 (01:25:47):
Uh.

Speaker 41 (01:25:48):
Does the Trump realize I hope that. I don't think
you're trying to eliminate the ability to turn and bail
in ballots.

Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
Yeah, and he gets I guess who used to mail
their ballots in all the time? Donald Trumpry?

Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
No, Donald Trump, you say he's not in the million.

Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
But I'm saying, Donald Trump that he used mail in voting,
and he talks about fraud and cheating and things of
that nature.

Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Well, take it from one who knows. I mean, how
did you do it? Did you cheat when you did it?

Speaker 14 (01:26:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 41 (01:26:16):
Boy, what I'm saying I went down there and I
was one of the worked on the ballot at the
polls when they counted. And I'll tell you, Kenna, you
would be hunbelieved. Well, how many military ballots he came
in the military. If they're overseas and they're on a
ballotship or deploy wherever they're at, and they get their
ballot and they spend it in you're telling me now

(01:26:38):
that you want to get rid of the mail in
ballots and you want to counsel the military vote that
the military's ability they cast a vote for the president.

Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
Yeah, or whatever, well, it's all about power and control,
you know. He he that way he can control and
has power. If he has power over it, he can
control it. So yeah, yeah he does. Okay, but oh yeah,
hopefully that'll that'll get stopped in his tract as well.

Speaker 3 (01:26:59):

uh breaking news. I mean, for those who want to
know Sophie Cunningham. According to The Indianapolis Star, latest Fever
player to suffer season ending injury is deja vu.

Speaker 3 (01:35:39):
Man, that's somebody quoted said that, Let's see what it
is that she.

Speaker 4 (01:35:44):
Uh al, yeah, yeah, let me take a.

Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
Guess, Sophie said with the right knee. Come on, is it?
Come on? Come on, come on. I hate to read
articles that just don't get to the point. Just tell
me what she had.

Speaker 2 (01:36:03):

whatever it is a knee injury, we'll find out more.

Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
How are you.

Speaker 9 (01:36:25):
Hey, miss Tina?

Speaker 8 (01:36:26):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (01:36:27):
I'm well today? How about yourself?

Speaker 41 (01:36:29):
I know that's right.

Speaker 14 (01:36:30):
I love you, Miss Tina, I really do thank you
know why, you know why?

Speaker 9 (01:36:37):
Just because of who you are.

Speaker 14 (01:36:39):
I wanted to piggyback off of what George was saying
about the fashion, the little little money.

Speaker 10 (01:36:46):
You know, we have to do that.

Speaker 14 (01:36:48):
But also I forgot to mention when we last time
I spoke with you, when or if you get approved
for the AE I mean the assistance program, and they
send you a bill and send you a statement says,
do not pay.

Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Pay it anyway, pay sub true anyway, Yeah, pay pay it.

Speaker 14 (01:37:15):
Because that's what happened to me and probably quite a
few other people who have not called.

Speaker 5 (01:37:22):
Is that.

Speaker 14 (01:37:23):
You know, they kept sending me the bill every month,
do not pay, do not pay, And something inside my
head was saying, man, I need to pay, you know,
I was so you know that that saving that money
helped me out. If they gonna pay it, you know,
I could put that money towards another bill that I had.
But it was it was a setup because they turned

(01:37:45):
out they had a claim they had a computer glitch.
But I saw where they're trying to go up three
point five percent.

Speaker 2 (01:37:56):
Uh, it's a two years it's a two year plan,
and interestingly enough, the numbers add up to what they
originally asked for in that last rate increase that was slashed.
It was slashed, so if they get this two year
increase as requested, that will total what they tried to

(01:38:17):
get the last time and had it slashed.

Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
So I don't have it right here in front of me.
But that makes a lot of sense. Yeah, it makes sense.

Speaker 14 (01:38:24):
Yeah, it's at three point five percent.

Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
And then another year, and then the following year it'll
be you know a little bit more or less. But
whatever the two years they add up to, you add
those two years to what they got that's going into
effect now, and it amounts to what they originally proposed
a year or two ago, and that's it amounts to
the same thing.

Speaker 14 (01:38:47):
Yeah, and so this is another suggestion, and I don't
know if the Regulatory Commission is trying to stop people
from this, but go solar.

Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
That's what I did, and I'm working on you know,
I'm seriously thinking about that because I don't use that
much electricity, you know, as far as heating, uh and cooling,
just you know, a few months out of the year,
So solar might not be a bad idea.

Speaker 14 (01:39:13):
Yeah, I use solar light, not fully solar because it's
it's kind of pricey. But when I had my house built,
they were actually supposed to install solar panels because I
have an eco friendly home, and so I was still
asking about it. But if you can go solar and

(01:39:35):
try that and see if it will work. But I'm
so happy that you're on the radio at this time
in this season because we need a Tina Costi at
this time. And I'm not saying that Amos and Doctor
Jones and Willie Moe, I mean, Willy Frank wasn't doing.

(01:39:55):
But for this season, we need a Tina Costi.

Speaker 6 (01:39:58):
So I appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (01:39:59):
And I appreciate you, Devora, I really really do, and
thank you so much. That's quite kind. I appreciate that.

Speaker 37 (01:40:05):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:40:06):
Three one seven, four eight, zero thirteen ten, And I'll
be here as long as I can.

Speaker 3 (01:40:12):
You never know with anything around here.

Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
But no, they Radio one and our parent company, Urban
One have quite a commitment to the community, so I'm
I'm happy to be carrying out that commitment.

Speaker 3 (01:40:24):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten. Three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten. Cheryl, go ahead, how.

Speaker 46 (01:40:30):
Are you Hia. I'm calling because I'm just really concerned
that we have a president of the United States that
lie he.

Speaker 47 (01:40:43):
Committed adult treat fornication in front of the children. We
have to teach the children about all the presidents, So
what are we going to do? I mean, he's breaking.

Speaker 46 (01:40:57):
The laws right in front of the whole world and
nobody saying anything.

Speaker 19 (01:41:04):
No, no, we got it.

Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
You know, well, stay connected to each other and try to,
you know, do what we can do. I mean, we've
got to get back involved and don't let them take
away our votes and stop putting people in office who
are nothing more than Trump robots, like the governor here
in the state of Indiana, like all of the state lawmakers,

(01:41:27):
they are all little you know, there's serious talk now
that they too, feel as if Indiana should redraw the
maps in the middle of this census cycle. Indiana already
has seven out of nine congressional districts, and so could
they be coming after Andre Carson as well as Frank

(01:41:49):
Varan up in northwest Indiana. Problem, you know, there's only
two Democratic congressional seats left. So we just have to
stay connected and we have to stay aware and do
what we can do, uh and not you know, we
can't check out. That's the last thing we can do
is check out. That's the last thing we should be
doing is checking out.

Speaker 46 (01:42:08):
Yeah, I agree that you and but we need to
pay a lot of attentions to the rule of law
and that constitution.

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
We should be making our voting plans and one of
the things that I really admire is the NAACP from
now all the way up until the midterms in twenty
twenty six. Uh, they are hosting In fact, I got
to get somebody on here, maybe the president or you know,

(01:42:36):
some of the one or two of the officers. They're
having town halls from coast to coast, north, south, east,
and west, and they're going to continue with these town
halls to get voters ready, to get voters educated, to
get voters engaged so that we have a strong voting
block when the twenty twenty six midterms come up. The

(01:42:59):
Urban League, they were on here in the State of
Black America report a state of emergency was issued by
their national president, Mark Morel All ninety two of their
affiliate agencies, including Indianapolis.

Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
They have a battle plan.

Speaker 2 (01:43:15):
So we just need, you know, keep our ears open,
keep our eyes open for what's going on in our community,
and support those organizations that are trying to get us there.

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
You know, support them.

Speaker 2 (01:43:24):
Let's support the NAACP, Let's support the Urban League and
everybody else in between, because we're all trying to go
you know, everybody's going to do it differently, and that's fine,
but we got to you know, look at the big picture,
look at everything in the aggregate. Are we all working
toward the same goal? And if that's the case, then
you know, we can figure out how to work together.

Speaker 46 (01:43:45):
And we can't keep saying that our goal doesn't count.

Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
Oh, we can't say that anymore.

Speaker 46 (01:43:55):
And that marching peacefully is okay.

Speaker 3 (01:43:59):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 2 (01:44:00):
Yeah, the yea Reverend Al Sharpton, I forgot about him,
The National Action Network. They're going to have a march
on Wall Street this month. I believe that's that's a
new Wealth Courses in New York. I'm thinking it's the
twenty eighth of August because it's coincided, coinciding with the

(01:44:21):
anniversary of the March on Washington. So, and his point
is that the Wall Street, the money and opportunities and
things of that nature, a lot of that stuff is
covered by Wall Street, and they need to know how
voters feel and how people feel and how the public feels.

(01:44:42):
So rather than marching on Washington, Reverend Sharpton has organized
a march on Wall Street. And so, yeah, I was
thinking about going to that actually, So yeah, I'm trying
to figure out. Yeah, August twenty eighth. I was correct.

(01:45:03):
He's a national action network August twenty eighth, as we
march on Wall Street for economic justice, and so we're
looking for So there's a lot of opportunities. Everybody's out
there doing what they can, both nationally and locally. And
as long as we do our part, I think we're
going to be fine. I think we're going to be fine.

Speaker 46 (01:45:21):
Absolutely. And then you look at Donald Trump. Now, Donald
Trump disrespecting the children, no value, no more standards, and
he's still president.

Speaker 14 (01:45:34):
Now if that had been of a rock.

Speaker 46 (01:45:36):
It would have been done.

Speaker 2 (01:45:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well then we have to start looking
at things differently and learning how to fight differently. Yeah,
because going by the letter of the law, they don't
respect that, they have no use for it. So, you know,
but I think slowly but surely Democrats and others are
figuring it out. So let's just keep supporting those who

(01:45:58):
are doing right and may not be the way we
do it or may not be, you know, but the
main thing is we got to stay in support of
each other.

Speaker 3 (01:46:07):
So all right, thank you, Cheryl, I appreciate it. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
And again, Donald Trump does want to end mail in voting.
He announced his intention to lead a movement to end
mail in voting and is going to sign an executive
order to bring what he says is honesty to future elections,
acknowledging that Democrats will strongly oppose his efforts.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
He knows they will.

Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
And Donald Trump talking about honesty the man who knows
not the truth, which has never been part of his DNA,
and he says he wants to bring honesty back to elections.

Speaker 3 (01:46:43):
He wants to bring integrity back to elections.

Speaker 2 (01:46:48):
He has previously voted by mail himself, but he says
mail in ballots are inaccurate, expensive and controversial, and is
advocating for the use of watermark paper instead of voting machines.
Says that in other countries they've abandoned mail in voting
due to massive voter fraud, and urged states to follow
his lead for the country's benefit. So yeah, okay, Donald Trump.

(01:47:13):
Donald Trump talking honesty is laughable to me. I don't
mean to offend Trump supporters, but there's no honesty or
there's no honesty.

Speaker 36 (01:47:27):
In that man.

Speaker 3 (01:47:28):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
Let's go to our final call of the day, Final
call of the afternoon, DJ, you get the final call.

Speaker 7 (01:47:34):
Go ahead, hey, miss Tina, how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:47:37):
I'm well, how are you good?

Speaker 18 (01:47:39):
Thank you first time, long time and God bless you
for your work that you do well, thank you you
and your family. First thing I want to share with you, busy. Yes,
they they are appointed. The board is appointed by the governor.

Speaker 7 (01:47:51):
Yes, yes, that's all going.

Speaker 18 (01:47:53):
Yeah, you know, so this is a right wing because uh,
you know state, so that they're going to apply to
what they were asked to do.

Speaker 3 (01:48:01):
So well, they didn't. They didn't capitulate completely the last time.

Speaker 2 (01:48:06):
So we can only hope that they'll you know, read
and and they did take into account uh you know,
public comment and public pushbacks. So I mean they could
have granted the whole thing last time, you know, last year,
and they did not, and so it'll be interesting to
see what they do this time.

Speaker 18 (01:48:23):
So yeah, good call. Also, the state received more taxes
once they increased the rates.

Speaker 3 (01:48:28):
Ah okay, that's.

Speaker 18 (01:48:30):
Always like the states, Uh would like that. My second
point is on Saturday, the supremacist that walked around the circle,
what was it if they were black? What would happen then?

Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
Mm hmm, I don't know. Yeah, well, you know what.

Speaker 18 (01:48:48):
Happened there would be five hundred police there you know. So,
and then next Our brought out L thirteen's parent company,
today Team Techna.

Speaker 3 (01:49:00):
Yes, wait a minute, Next Star, how did how did that?
Wait a minute, yeah, check that out. But I gotta
look at that. I think that's uh, how did the
FCC going to allow that?

Speaker 18 (01:49:10):
Well they announced earlier today.

Speaker 3 (01:49:12):
That's an illegal monopoly. Well anyway, I don't know. I
have to look at it.

Speaker 18 (01:49:16):
It's like the uh, the Fourth State is being systematically removed,
you know, so like you know, it used to be
the Star news time, now the Star by Gannett. They're
telling us about a backup cornerback for the coast as
opposed to the genocide and Gaza. So it's like we're
all being deceeeded.

Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
So I'm not appreciate that. Boy, I'm fascinated by Next
Star purchasing. Uh technically, well now wait a minute. Okay,
the Technic group, if it was small enough, I think
they could do it.

Speaker 14 (01:49:50):
And it was.

Speaker 2 (01:49:51):
It was once owned by the Wolf Brothers, I do believe.
So you know, maybe a station here and one or
two somewhere else. I know one in Columbus. So depending
on how large the group is, I can see them
absorbing that yeah.

Speaker 18 (01:50:03):
Yeah, yeah, the Indy has three p D stations owned
by the same company.

Speaker 12 (01:50:09):
Yeah, so that's the.

Speaker 18 (01:50:12):
Fourth of state. Was vital to our democracy, Yes, eliminated
and you know, God bless you for what you do.

Speaker 3 (01:50:19):
Well, thank you, Thank you do what I can.

Speaker 7 (01:50:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
Yeah, that's a that's a little you know, you know,
I got to look that up as soon as I
get off the.

Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
Air, because that's wow. I believe the FCC didn't question
that then.

Speaker 18 (01:50:35):
I don't know what I'm if you were thinking about,
you know, Lecti Hall or you know, General Hospital. Yeah,
you know, we're all distracted.

Speaker 9 (01:50:44):
But anyway, God bless.

Speaker 3 (01:50:45):
You, Thank you, all right, you too, and uh you know,
thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
And and the thing of it is, you know, we
we have to have some entertainment, uh so to speak,
but not to be so distracted by entertainment that you
don't know what's going on. So we try to do
a little bit of both, a lot of both. So yeah,
Lexi Hall is not the story. Nor is Sophie Cunningham's knee.
That's that's something entertaining, you know, not entertaining of course,

(01:51:12):
because we don't want her to be hurt. But that's
in the you know, sports and entertainment category. And like
I said, we try to hit on all cylinders. But
I tell you what with Nextstar Media, next Star owns
Next Star.

Speaker 3 (01:51:26):
I used to work for Nextstar, Okay, so that's why
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:51:29):
And when Nextstar came into this market, the first time
they came into the market, they had to there was
they had to spin off I think wish because you're
only allowed to absorb so many within the same market
of a certain class and this and that and blah
blah blah. So I would be very curious to see
how that deal was able to come about. Now, the

(01:51:52):
fact of the matter is if the Technic Group has
not expanded beyond what it once was, which means Channel
thirteen here in Indianapolis, and there's another station in Columbus.

Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
Ohio, and maybe one more. I don't know, but but wow,
that's that's pretty big news. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:52:12):
Well I'll find out more about that right now. That's
all the time we have for community connection. Our website
is Praisindie dot com. Thank you as always for joining us.
Willimore Junior on the radio, he's right after this show.
We'll be back tomorrow. Until then, everyone please be safe,
