(00:47):
the show. Today, our sports guy with the Indianapolis Recorder,
Danny Bridges, joins us, Danny's going to be coming in
a day early. We usually hear from Danny on Thursdays,
but I do believe he said he was going to
be assignment tomorrow and at his designated time for our show.
I believe Cameron, he said he's gonna be in the air,

(01:07):
so he's going to be flying and flying high. Now,
Danny may be one of those high paid sports guys
that has all kinds of benefits even when on Yeah,
uh huh, yeah, perks, even when you're in the air,
you can do your job. You can you know, you
have internet access and all kinds of other stuff. So

(01:28):
I'm gonna I'm gonna ask him about that. But yeah,
but if I know Danny, he might be in the
middle of a good meal during that time, so it
won't be able to do the show. But tomorrow is
a travel day, no doubt, So he's gonna come on
today and spend a little time with us, so he
no doubt he is going to talk about the latest

(01:50):
developments with the Colts picking Daniel Jones to lead the
way this year. Daniel Jones is the starter, he is
the chosen one, and let's let's hope I want, we
all want the Coast to do well. Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, whoever,
we all want him to do well. So let's hope
it's a good season coming up for the Colts and Danny.
Hopefully we'll have a little bit more insight on that. Again,

(02:13):
he's in sports in our second hour before that, Again,
the lines are open three one, seven, four, eight zero,
thirteen ten, three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten.
I got to work very late today, really really late today,
which was fine because of what I was doing this morning.

(02:36):
I was invited to join the podcast for a WTLC
legend Neil. They were I guess I was in a
room full of legends. Ricky solid Gold Clark, Ricky Clark. Uh,
now you DJ, have you ever heard that name? Cameron?
I know you're a younger generation you Ricky solid Gold.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
I don't know if he called in. I think he
called in about the weeknds ago and you you.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
M I think that was that was another guy. It
wasn't Ricky.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
It was Sparks.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Sparks Socks talked about.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, Marco Stocks talked about Soliga. Well, anyway, Ricky is
he's he's a promoter. He's a retired police officer, you know,
certainly one of the originals when W. Tills he first
got going in the late sixties, early seventies. And we talk.
He's got a podcast now called Diversity Focus Today and uh,

(03:31):
I was his invited guest, and so we did one
and the conversation was going great, so rick said, let's
do another one. So let's do it, so we did.
We did more than one podcast and it got along.
But you know, that's what happens a lot of times
when you're having a good conversation. Uh and not to
mention having a nice time and uh so uh uh.

(03:53):
Those those podcasts and the broadcast actually which will be
on it's also on which TV Diversity Focus today, so
you can catch these podcasts and these shows and these
these really really good discussions. Ricky's had some really good
people on there. Plus he has a cast of his
own that are all part of his podcast. In fact,

(04:16):
I think one of the guests, doctor t she's an
art therapist. She's an art you know, an art therapist,
and I think we're going to get her on as
well because she's really good and we had a good
conversation with her. But he wanted to get into podcasting.
He also lives part time in Atlanta and has made

(04:38):
another rick creates all these different occupations, but he does
what do you call it extra? He's an extra for
the Tyler Perry studios down in Atlanta. So these movies
that Tyler Perry makes, the movies that he is making,

(04:59):
movies that he that he that they are being made
Ricky Clark, Ricky Saligo Clark is in on a lot
of them. So I said, Ricky, how do you Ricky
retired a long time ago, probably from radio and from
I know, from a police department some other things. He
just he just continues to reinvent himself. And again I
want to thank him and everyone there Alan, they you know,

(05:24):
everyone down at Which TV, because they had a really,
really nice time this morning. On the podcast, we talked
about Cameron. We talked you know, it never ceases to
amaze me how no matter what the conversation is that
this particular administration being led by you know, forty seven. Now,

(05:45):
I guess it is that he always what he's doing,
or what he is about or what he represents always
seems to work his way into a conversation. So we
got into a little bit of that.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
But it's all good.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It's all good. So if you get chance to check
it out, check out all of Ricky's podcast on his
YouTube channel. On the name of the show again is
Diversity Focused Today. Diversity Focused Today. But I I can't
imagine being that busy, and we talked about you know,
I had to ask him about Tyler Perry. Of course,
I had to you have to ask, you know, Tyler

(06:20):
Perry talk about legends and giants.

Speaker 7 (06:22):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
And Ricky says he's about as down to earth as
you could possibly imagine. A great guy, nice guy, easier
to talk to, and it's it's a lot of a
lot of fun. Not to mention money, Uh, you know,
nice money being an extra and you get you you
don't have to you don't have to memorize any lines,
don't do anything. You just get to be an extra.

(06:43):
So uh I I I said, Ricky, you got it
going on. You've got a lot of good stuff. So
in between here and the at l uh and wherever
else he may go.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
We you know, we certainly appreciate Ricky uh in the
community and all he continues to bring to broadcasting in
the broadcasting airways. Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten.
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten. You can
give us a call lines or open uh if you
want to talk about whatever. Like I was saying, we
have several things we can talk about and a couple

(07:16):
of things I want to catch you up on. But
I did just want to share and give Ricky and
doctor t and U and everyone down there a nice
shout out and thank them for for having me. And
like I said, it went a little longer than what
we had planned, but that's what happens when you get
to having a good time. Three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten. Sam,

(07:41):
go ahead, how are you good morning?

Speaker 8 (07:44):
Good?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (07:46):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
It just finished being the morning and so now we're
going into the afternoon because just to no, seriously, just
a few minutes ago, I saw someone down the hall.
I had to check myself. So I'm going into my show.
I know it's not morning, but I was. I was
thinking good morning, but it wasn't. It's always but it's
a good day, good day, good day. I did get

(08:07):
that information, and I got it from this cameraon. Yes,
I did, and I am going to process it. I
haven't had a chance to really sit down with it
because I hit the ground running yesterday right after I
left the studio and it hasn't stopped since. In fact,
I just even when I came in this morning, late
late late this morning, like I was saying, I was

(08:28):
doing a Ricky Clark's podcast. I had about maybe thirty
minutes to get this show together. So when I get, yeah,
when I get some free time to sit down, which
should be pretty much after this show, and I'm going
to go go through it and we can have a
nice conversation about it.

Speaker 9 (08:42):
Yes, ma'am, thank you.

Speaker 10 (08:44):
I appreciate it, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Thank you, thank you for making sure we got it.
I appreciate it. I certainly appreciate it, all right. Thanks
bye bye three one, seven, four, eight, zero, thirteen ten.
The what Sam is talking about is an alternative to
power bills, electricity specifically, and that fits right in with

(09:05):
what we've been talking about a lot the last several
days regarding AES and their rate hike request that they want.
They're already charging more money, but they want to raise
their rates even more. And so there's a series of
public hearings that are now underway for folks to be
able to let the Regulatory Commission, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission,

(09:30):
know that this is outrageous and give consumers a break,
give us a break. But what Sam is talking about,
I believe is maybe a newer alternative. I haven't, like
I said, they have had any chance to dive into it,
but I will so that Sam and I can both
talk about it, so I appreciate that. By the way,
speaking of the AEES Utility Rate HIG public hearings, you

(09:53):
can make your voices heard. Coming up. Your next opportunity

Speaker 6 (12:47):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (12:48):
For you? Good night?

Speaker 6 (12:51):
Have you heard anything about the bro in Cincinnati?

Speaker 11 (12:55):
The what the what bro?

Speaker 2 (12:57):
The brawl? Yeah, seems like there were. Yeah, I had
heard about one a couple of weeks ago, two or
three weeks ago in Cincinnati. What is something else happened
since then?

Speaker 12 (13:08):
Well, let me tell you this.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
I like listening to the Cincinnati Reds and they come
on a powerful station down there, so I turned to
it see when they might come on. So anyway, I
found out when I think it's the Hairge festival that
they're always have in July, and they had the Reds
time that night, so they had a big crowd down there.
So from what I heard on the radio, a bunch

(13:34):
of black people didn't want the white people to come
on their side of the street. So anyway they posed
him jumped then or whatever. So anyway, now and there
was the by a white person, there was the inward
said also, he's supposed to smack somebody. So back we

(14:00):
got the cameras for all this stuff, and they got
about six black people. The white person they didn't charge him,
So anyway, they got charges on these black people for
like three chargers and they can go anywhere from zero
to twenty nine years in prison. But anyway, they end

(14:25):
up catching two more.

Speaker 8 (14:26):
Off a camera.

Speaker 6 (14:28):
So today I was listening to it and they say, oh,
oh they n NUBLEACP had some other people down there.
They finally got the Whitey. That isn't what they said.
They finally got charges against the Whitey. But it's probably
only going to be a a meter either if mister

(14:50):
meet Away just have to pay about one hundred and
fifty dollars to get out for thirty days in jail
one to two. But they finally got the Whitey for
on something. They just had to prove a point because
they had video of all these other people get you know,
get charges on them. So they just had to prove

(15:10):
a point to get a point on him. So and
there's some more to the story. But I say, I'm
not going to hold up the other colors that you
got going. But I tell you one thing about yesterday.
I was surprised when you had yourself because you had
a lot of men called yesterday. How don't have you
noticed that or not? But you really you had a

(15:32):
lot of men that you know, I done went to
bed it now, so I don't know what the segment
was about, but I kind of proud of us, me
and you know, saying different stories on the radio about selfings.
But that's fella.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I got to say, Okay, all right, Well, thank you, Bobby.
I appreciate it. Yeah. I have not followed that story
in Cincinnati to know all of the details and the
latest and what have you. I need to catch up
fun it, but I just simply have not, So thank
you for calling in and sharing that. Three one seven

(16:07):
for eight zero thirteen ten three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten. Is this Minister Rozelle online set? Okay,
how are you? How are you?

Speaker 10 (16:20):
I'm blessed, you know, how are you?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
I'm doing well. I'm doing well. Read the screen.

Speaker 13 (16:25):
I'm sorry, go ahead, Oh that's okay, that's okay, listen,
I was just calling it. Take just a couple of
minutes to remind everybody about the we Care Community Festival.

Speaker 7 (16:36):
Uh huh.

Speaker 13 (16:37):
I' a schedule for this Saturday at Washington Park. Most
people know where that is with The address is thirty
one thirty East thirty ath Street, and it is our
effort to show the community of parents and specificlarly students
that we care about them as they go back to school. Yeah,

(16:57):
and remember we were on last week and there's a
whole day of activities that will.

Speaker 14 (17:03):
Be going on.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, it's a good day, long day.

Speaker 13 (17:06):
Yeah, yes, yes, starting at ten o'clock with a ecumenical
prayer visual and then we will have an education summit
with three workshops with superintendents who'll talk about how AI
is going to impact education this semester.

Speaker 10 (17:24):
And then we'll have principals and teachers to talk to
parents to let them know how they can best help
their children in this semester. And they will have some
students so that we can hear from a student perspective
what they think about education and tell us about their experiences.
We've got a student from Christas Addicts. We have a

(17:47):
student from Charles R. Tinley Accelerated Academy. We have a
student from Fisher's High School, and we have a recent
graduate from Cathedral High School who is now a freshman
at bar State not Ball State and I'm sorry, DePaul University.
So they're going to be there and they're the title
of their work. Our workshop is hashtag you to talk adults.

(18:12):
Listen my school experience.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (18:16):
And then Rodney Bryant. I'm sure I don't have to
remind people who he is. He's a legend in this community.

Speaker 10 (18:21):
He producing live music from noon until five.

Speaker 13 (18:27):
We got gospel acts, got jazz acts including Greg Bacon.

Speaker 10 (18:33):
And Jeff Payne his trio, have a rapper dead series.
I'm sorry, Dead Silence. We'll also have free health screamings.
We'll have free haircuts, young ladies can get their hair pressed,
and we'll have free food giveaway, ride good gride, goods,

(18:54):
can goods and all of that is happening this Saturday
from ten until five pm. We'll also have line dancers.
It's just going to be a lot of fun.

Speaker 15 (19:06):
Where is that?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Where can people go online to find out more about it?
Because it's a day chalk full of activities and events?
Is there? It's from ten until what ten until four?

Speaker 13 (19:17):
Penuntil five until five?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
And so you know, are any of these events timed?
Are they going to be taking place throughout the course
of the day, Like is something coming at one or
two or three? You know that's something like that.

Speaker 13 (19:29):
Yeah, the only thing that's two things that are really
timed are the Education Summit, which begins at eleven and
goes until about three thirty or four inside the Family Center,
and then the gospel jazz rap concert starts at noon
and goes until about five. Everything else is just kind

(19:51):
of ongoing. We do ask people to go to the
website and register if they want their young.

Speaker 10 (19:58):
Man or young ladies to get their good done. And
that website address is www dot i c E.

Speaker 13 (20:08):
S o C dot org Indiana Council on Educating Students
of Color i C E s OC dot org and
all the information about all the happenings can be found there.
UH and UH Andre Carson is going to be there
in the morning to bring greetings. Representive Great Porter is

(20:33):
a co chair along with mssus Diana Daniels, who is
the leader UH, the executive director of the Indiana Council
on the Educating Students of Color and also and also
UH City Councilman Ron Gibson is going to be there
because we're in his care in his district. So it's

(20:53):
just a lot of fun and we want people to
come out and take advantage of what we're offering and
for them to know that there's someone in this community
who cares.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
About the love that all right, well, thank you minister.
We really appreciate that. Yeah, and good luck with the
event on Sarah. I think you can have good good
weather too. That's always important you have good weather.

Speaker 10 (21:12):
Yeah, yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Okay, all right, thank you minister Dave Rozie, thank you
all right. Indeed three one, seven for eight, zero thirteen ten.
Uh Sam, go ahead, how are you?

Speaker 15 (21:26):
Ooh that last call, that's when I'm talking about you
kings and queens that.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Is in us uh huh does take a village?

Speaker 15 (21:35):
I was excited about what that man said. Yes, that's
what it takes, the community coming together, and it would
be great, wouldn't it be great? And someone I knew
lest I forgot what Sidney she was in. But what
they did is whatever one side of the city in
the black community was doing. This's been about ten years ago,

(21:56):
and what they did is one day that was going on,
and say another two weeks later on the like something
north from the same thing, something south and some same
thing east and west. And that's what we're talking about.
That man talking about taking back a village. I'm so
upcit about that. I was like, I almost want to cry.
But what I'm calling is I want to respond about

(22:20):
the men that talked about solar energy. I've been doing
some research myself and there's some there's some things dealing
with the solar energy. If you go on Google or
go to the library and look at look it up
and stuff, probably.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
Even more information of the library.

Speaker 15 (22:35):
But you can lease the solar panels or you can
buy them, and I bet you and there's like two
I don't have to looking at it right now, but
if you look it up, there's like two different federal
kinds of credit and stuff. You look it up, but
it probably you know, and do the research because that's

(22:57):
what I want to do before the years that I
want solar panels m but just research what would be
the cost of look at at the the the recommendation,
the solidarity of that particular company, and then on top
of that, what was really interesting, one of the things

(23:18):
I learned is that in one area, like say you've
got the solar, and the solar you don't it's producing
enough electricity, you can it can store, there's something that
can store, or it can send that. Here's another thing
that would benefit as it would send it back to

(23:38):
the regular electric grid.

Speaker 9 (23:43):
But yeah, yeah, oh, there's.

Speaker 15 (23:44):
Two ways of like what but you can get a
system where it sends you don't need that much electricity
and at a keep in mind, I'm.

Speaker 16 (23:54):
Not a scientist.

Speaker 15 (23:55):
I got everything, but it can send the what your
your your business or what your your home doesn't need,
it'll send it back as a credit to help aees.
Now if enough of us did that, but they have
to come out and see exactly where it would because
it's all depending on what the house.

Speaker 17 (24:15):
You know.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
But the man was talking about that yesterday.

Speaker 15 (24:19):
That is something for all of us to look into
because if it wants, if they want to go up
on our electric bill, why not take that bill that
to bring it down and get the solar and even
send a credit to a yes to make them even stronger.
And then there we go. But what the man said

(24:40):
before about what's going on that feels so good, it
takes a village, Kings and queens, it takes a village.
It does Quean Tina. It takes a village. And we've
got to stand up to the plate and be that
king and queen and our home and our community.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Yes, yes, yes, you got.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
Okay, all right, thank you saying I appreciate it, and hey,
it's always I always say this, that's great food for thought.
We need to dive into that a little bit more.
If you're on the line, stay right there. We have
to work in a quick commercial break. When we come
back out. Well, we'll go back to the phone lines
three one, seven for a zero thirteen ten. We'll be
right back.

Speaker 18 (25:32):

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Let's get back to the conversation. It's Community Connection with Tinacosby,
brought to you by Child Advocates, a champion for justice,
opportunity and well being for children on phrase Am thirteen
ten ninety five point one FM.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
And we're back with Community Connection. Let's go right back
to the phone lines. While the lines are filling up,
and I want to give everybody a chance to say
what they want to say. Let's go, let's start a
learning one. Pierre, go ahead, how are you, Pierre?

Speaker 28 (30:06):
Are you there?

Speaker 8 (30:07):
Yeah? Good afternoon, Tina, and good afternoon. All right.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
No, I was wanted to call in the.

Speaker 12 (30:13):
Other day when I heard you guys talking about the
Nazi march downtown.

Speaker 9 (30:18):
Okay, I was hoping that.

Speaker 12 (30:22):
Maybe attorney bohend and there's somebody to weigh in on
the on the First Amendment, because I thought there were
exceptions to the First Amendment and free speech. Uh, those
guys were down there using the N word and Jews
and all of this other stuff.

Speaker 8 (30:38):
And I really like to know.

Speaker 12 (30:42):
What's the first Amendment to speak to uh intimidation. That's
but I think it's a will on the Fed's part
to prosecute.

Speaker 20 (30:57):
That group.

Speaker 12 (30:59):
I don't think they will want to do it. And Uh,
your caller the other day, I think it's Ron and
calls in, talks about he loves you and everything, he
loves everybody, but he immediately went in on abortion and
Kamala Harris and I was just wondering, what what would

(31:22):
he have that that you remember that little ten year
old girl or how the old girl that they came
from Ohio that had to get the abortion right here
in Indiana. Yes, what was she supposed to do? I mean,
what was she supposed to carry that uh pregnancy to term?

Speaker 18 (31:43):
Is that?

Speaker 12 (31:43):
What is that what Ron was thinking?

Speaker 13 (31:45):
Or is that what?

Speaker 2 (31:46):
I can't tell you what Ron was thinking. I don't know, yeah,
but I I know the examples that are given and
you give examples. He gives examples. Other callers give examples
to to underscore their their points to view on the subject.
But I don't know. That's that's always a tough question
because this child, you know, she was violent, She was

(32:07):
violently raped. I mean rape is violence. I mean she
was raped. So yeah, I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 12 (32:16):
Life, but don't I can't see a child having to
carry a pregnancy like that to term.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Well, the other thing is that as a child, she
may not be developed enough to be able to go
through you see what I'm saying to be able to
go through labor was to say that, you know her,
her labor and delivery would be you know, just as
safe as it is for say a twenty four year
old grown woman. I mean, this is still a baby,
still a child. So you know, not only was she

(32:47):
violated and raped, she you know it. You know, carrying
a child to term like that could have put her
life in in jeopardy. It could have killed her, could
have killed her. She's ten, she's a child.

Speaker 12 (33:00):
Some of those abortions for uh, anti abortion people, Uh,
they're crazy enough to say that's still murder. But one
last point to Trump clearing out these homeless encampments in
Washington and all of that. You know, whoever's gonna be

(33:20):
the next mayor of Indianapolis, whether they be a Democrat
or a Republican, and like I said, I'm a Democrat,
but uh, you know, beings homeless, these people are just
popping up, just dropping down tents in your neighborhood and everything,
and they can live on the street right next to

(33:41):
your house or whatever. That's got to stop. And the
and the mayors across the uh country are gonna have
to put a stop to that and finding places to
people place go. But they just can't be putting a

(34:01):
tent downtown and then people's neighborhood or buy your house
or whatever. And then you know, they can't just sit
and live, urinate and do all this stuff right there.
I'm not boo uh mayor is going to have to address.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
That well, I mean it's I think it's a little
bit more complex than that. And again, in terms of
what other callers think or say, that's that's what they
you know, you'd probably have to talk to them directly.
But as far as home, yeah, we got to put
an end to it. We got to put an end
to what's causing it, because the the you know, the

(34:40):
encampments are a symbol the symptoms of the cause. They're
they're symptoms of what is creating this homelessness. So we
got a lot of work to do to end homelessness
in general. So, you know, just policing it, I you know,
that's not that's only going to do so much. We
have to we have to cut it off and and
and the root causes and root those out, for lack

(35:02):
of a better phrase. But I know what you're saying, though, Pierre,
I get it, I truly do. But we we got
to figure out why more and more people are becoming
homeless and have nowhere else to go butt on the streets.
That's that's the problem. And uh, you know there in
lies the lies, the reb so to speak. So thanks,

(35:23):
thanks for your call, Pierre. I appreciate you calling. Uh
three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven for eight zero thirteen ten, Greg, go ahead, how
are you?

Speaker 16 (35:33):
How are you doing good? How are you good?

Speaker 29 (35:35):
Another one of my fifteen minutes of fame. I was
working the Channel thirteen before I went in the service
during the during I think I told you before during
the David Letterman era, and and Ricky was at that
time until he hadn't become a cop yet, and I
was dating my ex wife and a friend of mine,
Victor Horn, was a good friend of Ricky's and had

(35:57):
him I'll give us a chef out on the radio.
This is probably about fifty five years ago, maybe fifty
three years ago. So I just wanted to give my
Ricky dollar gold Clark and I also knew him from
his record company combined with ty Scott Records.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, Ricky going to tule Buble.

Speaker 29 (36:18):
City Records and ty Scott was the gospel part and
Ricky was the R and B part. So a lot
of people don't know that, but anyway, that's why Ricky
Clark star.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Yeah, all right, well, thank you for that. I appreciate it. Yeah,
Ricky has done I think I'd be sitting here the
entire show if I named all of the business ventures
that Ricky has been a part of and and all
all positive. He's he's done positive things with all of them.
So thank you, Ricky. Great job, brother man. Go ahead,
how are you hey, I'm doing well, thank you.

Speaker 8 (36:49):
I wanted to find out about this uh Re District
King and will there be any Democrats running our can
Ryn when they.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Had that, Well, are you talking about Indiana joining Texas
in terms of trying to redistrict in the middle of
a census cycle? Is that what you're talking about.

Speaker 8 (37:13):
Yeah, they said that they may jo Yeah, yeah, where
there be any Democrat people running.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
That, I have no idea. I know they're trying to
draw the Democrats completely off of all of the maps.
And there's only two. You know, there's only two Democratic
congressional districts left out of the nine in the state
of Indiana, only two are Democrats. One is right here
in Indianapolis, the others in northwest Indiana. Uh, and that's

(37:46):
Andre Carson's district. So I guess you could say they're
trying to get rid of Andre Carson. And I think
it's Frank Moran Moran up in Lake County in that area.
As far as I have no idea how that's gonna
pan out, brother man, we just have to see. Bron
has been noncommittal on whether or not he's because he
has to call a special session to do so, and

(38:09):
he just has been kind of, you know, just noncommittal
is the only word I can think of we can't.
I can't really read what he wants to do or
what he doesn't want to do. Now, if he calls
a special session to do that, we'll know a little
bit more about the specifics. But right now we you know,
she's all kind of up in the air.

Speaker 8 (38:26):
But one more thing you were talking first part of
the show, not electric run in that state office is
mostly Republicans. They can fix it where black people get higher,
and that's a build in the white Did you know

(38:48):
if they got all them people down there, eighty of
the state office is a Republican. They if they can
do that, then they can control the light bills. That
sounded like it to me. You don't look at it
like that because you say all they doing is fair.

(39:11):
They ain't doing it fair. And yeah, one other thing
that I'm through okay, man, uh, the gas people charge
me for gas and I do not have a gas
stove or a gas hot water train. All I got
is a gas furnace. They said, I'm paying for service

(39:36):
that comes to my house. I said, well, I only
use it in the winter months and I'm paying forty
one dollars a month for that.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Yeah, that's the only thing I have in my house
this gas with the furnace.

Speaker 14 (39:52):
Pardon, that's straight up beating you.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
They get it. But you know what, if there was
more competition, and maybe that's part of what Sam and
Sam are talking about. And if we find alternatives, you know, good, healthy, reliable,
inexpensive alternatives to these monopolies that the AEES is and
the citizens have over our utilities and their rates. Maybe uh,

(40:16):
that's that's one way around it. And it'll soften them up,
because that's that's what competition does. It softens them up
and makes them become more competitive because right now they
call the shots.

Speaker 8 (40:27):
Yeah, if the state would let them. The state got
to agree on that before you get better citizens.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
That's true. That's true. That's true.

Speaker 8 (40:36):
You know they're not going to get you know, a break.
You see how they raise their value these properties so
you can get take me get more tax money.

Speaker 21 (40:45):
Yeah, they do.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
We gotta keep we gotta stay on them, brother man.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Uh. And a big
part of that is voting, because elections have consequences. They
do they do they do uh three one, seven, four, eight, zero,
thirteen ten. And when I say that, the governor, even
though he has the power of the veto. Uh, if
we can at least get the here in the state
of Indiana, the Senate and the House just even, just

(41:10):
even to where both sides have to work with each other,
I think we'd see a whole lot more progress than
what we're seeing with this super majority with GOP. Jeff,
go ahead, How are you, hey, Ken? How you doing
doing good? How about yourself?

Speaker 14 (41:26):
Good night? You bad?

Speaker 7 (41:27):
Hey?

Speaker 14 (41:28):
Jillian Michael's ring.

Speaker 9 (41:29):
A bell with you?

Speaker 2 (41:31):
Is that it seemed like Saturday Night Live or something
like that, Jillian Michaels, No, that's a no, it rings
a bell. I can't bof guru.

Speaker 14 (41:42):
And who's fitness guru? And uh, she's a magot. She's
a maggot Athey Phillips show. And she started a bit
of a fire storm between that slavery was overrated.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
Well overrated in what in what regard?

Speaker 14 (42:00):
Oh, that all white people are not bad? Only two
percent of white people own slaves back then?

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Yeah, kind of the way Trump wants to change the Uh.

Speaker 14 (42:09):
Well, she went the motivating infactor white Trump.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Say slavery wasn't as bad as as everybody says it was. Yeah, okay,
institution wasn't as bad as Why are they trying to
make slavery sound so bad?

Speaker 30 (42:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Okay, yeah, all right, yeah yeah, okay.

Speaker 14 (42:24):
I guess the Holocaust was just a walk in the park. Huh.
I have no idea anyway. We're just just just telling
you the kind.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Of Jillian Michaels I think Lauren, Lauren Michaels is Saturday.
Never mind, never mind, Lauren Michael. Yeah, my bad, Lauren Michael.

Speaker 14 (42:43):
Julian Michaels is she they she had a black, adopted
black daughter. Oh that gets her some points there, you go, Yeah, yeah,
well I think she's give her some cover. But she's
you know, but her and Naview Phillips went at it.
You know, if you get has to look it up
on Google, you you might find it quite interesting. But

(43:03):
this woman, she's obviously it's an idiot. You know, another
example that income doesn't always equal intelligence. You know, we
got a lot of people, you know, we got a
lot of stupid people who are rich. Ye, this is
an attempt and it's some of you black Republicans out there.

Speaker 21 (43:21):
You want to be ashamed of yourself.

Speaker 14 (43:22):
You you really, some of you blacks out there that
voted for Trump. You ain't got the courage to get
on Tina Cosby show, admit that you voted for Trump.
You ain't got the courage, You ain't got the guts
because you voted for white supremacy and racism, and you
voted for people that don't like you. I want you
to think about that for a minute. You know, I
saw a Hispanic man trying to rationalize and justify why

(43:44):
he voted for Trump, why his family members are getting deported. Well,
you know, these are things we got to take a
look at. You know, why so many of us want
to seek the proximity to whiteness, and why they's so
helld been on trying to erase black people from his
three you know, so uh you know this was the

(44:07):
chattel slavery. Well, this in America was based on white
supremacy and race. Okay, they tried to enslave Native Americans,
but they knew the land. They tried to slave with
European but they could blend in, you know, didn't diet
your servitude. If you're gonna chance to look up Bacon's rebellion,
I know, brother Imiltiff talks about it quite a big

(44:28):
You might find it interesting, but you know, but they
want to make light of it. And that lieutenant governor,
that that that that that moron we got for a
lieutenant governor want to make light of slavery. Oh you know,
well you got job as a carpenter. Yeah, but you
just sold my sister. Oh or raped my mother. But
oh okay, that had no problem there now you know

(44:50):
you just told you know, you just sold my brother.
So uh, I just you know, you know, you know
we we can't run, you know, the portent of that,
the purpose of history of learning from our mistakes, you know,
with the old saying, those who forget the past are
doomed to repeat it. So but some of y'all all

(45:13):
out there, Yeah, and there are a few callers they
call on here. You know, they talk a lot of stuff,
but they don't believe water is white. But uh, you know,
and we're only removed, We're not we're only what three
or four decades we moved from Jim Crow, and we're
still dealing with red lining and uh over you know,
white you know, structural white supremacy and all that. So

(45:37):
uh you know, uh, this president is an idiot anyway,
we all know that either moron and uh, I just
I'm just really disgusted, Yeah, for so many of our
people who couldn't bring themselves to vote for a black
woman but voted for a rapist, con artists and a fella.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
Yeah, you know what I think. And thank you, Jeff
for that, for your comments, says I thank everyone for
their comments. But you know, I think in some regards,
people really like, you know, like you said, people really
didn't believe water was wet. I don't think a lot
of folks thought that he would go to these extremes
that he has gone to and continues to go to.
I don't think a lot of people, even though how

(46:22):
many times did we have the woman on here at
least three times prior to Project twenty twenty five, even
a synopsis, I don't think people even looked at a
synopsis of that and thought that that could possibly be
carried out if I mean, he conned people and said
I've not seen it, I don't know anything about it.
And now once he gets in office, he's going by

(46:42):
the book is buy the book one, two, three, and
Project twenty twenty five at its core is a blueprint
for erasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the United States
of America, and so it does. So it systematically, you know,
system by system system. I know I'm repeating myself a
lot of times systematically in systems, but you get my point.

(47:05):
I just don't think people believe that all that was possible,
or that that level of hatred, if you will, or blatant.
They just did not believe that that would come to
fruition as it did and as quickly as it did.
And so a lot of folks are left with their
jaws wide open, like what and even and I will

(47:27):
say it, and I will say it, and I will
say it, and nobody listened to that either. When Kamala
Harris was here in Indianapolis prior to the election, she
was speaking at the conference at a conference sorority I
believe it was, was it Sigma Kammer anyway, one of
the Divine Nine sororities, And she gave a speech and

(47:50):
was saying, can you believe they put that in writing?
She said, can you believe they put something this bold
and this blatant in right? Yes, they did in plain sight.
And now they're going bullet point by bullet point by
bullet point and carrying it out. And yet nobody believed it.
I don't know what people thought was going to be

(48:12):
the case, but they just could not have imagined that
this would be the case, especially this quickly, uh, in
this early on in the in the presidency. So yeah, yeah,
folks just didn't believe it. I think, you know, I did.
I can call it buyer's remorse or or what have you,
but they just simply would not believe that this could
possibly happen. And it's happening. Uh, mister Russell, go ahead,

(48:35):
how are you, mister Russell? Are you there?

Speaker 16 (48:42):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 2 (48:43):
I can? I certainly can.

Speaker 16 (48:46):
I heard the bell just go off?

Speaker 2 (48:48):
The bell.

Speaker 16 (48:50):
There's a bell that goes off when you're when you're on.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
I guess, oh, okay, okay.

Speaker 16 (48:55):
When the caller is on.

Speaker 2 (48:56):
Okay.

Speaker 16 (48:57):
But anyway, uh, young man, thinking about the situation in Cincinnati,
the so called brawl at the head during the music festival.
That music festival over the years, you may remember, is
quite quite a big event and a very nice event,

(49:19):
you know, but we're living in strange times. And prior
to that so called brow there was a standoff in
Cincinnati where a group of whites were threatening to come

(49:40):
into the black neighborhoods, and there was a corresponding group
of blacks that defended that there was In other words,
it's like a standoff. Anyway, that that means that there's
been tensions that have been building in the Cincinnati area.

Speaker 29 (49:59):
Uh.

Speaker 16 (50:00):
Unfortunately along those lines, Uh, one of one of your
sisters stations carries program on Sunday nights. Bill Cunningham is
a fixture at w l W and Cincinnati Radio, and
he is a trumper and a JD vans Uh.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Uh a talk show, didn't he.

Speaker 16 (50:28):
But on Sunday night it goes across the country and
and uh w w C carries it on Sunday nights here.
But anyway, as you know, UH, in a in a
say take a basketball game, for instance, when one player
is called for a foul or blatant foul some sometimes

(50:52):
there's prior to that foul the other player has been
guilty obo a fire also, but the referees might have
seen that earlier pout. Do you understand what?

Speaker 2 (51:07):
Yeah, that is the that's the behavior behind the scene.
The second one always gets.

Speaker 16 (51:12):
Caught right exactly. So I'm thinking that's what happened in
the Cincinnati situation. What what what I would like to
ask you, is it possible to contact the people in
authority in Cincinnati.

Speaker 30 (51:27):
Uh, like.

Speaker 16 (51:30):
The mayor for instance. Uh, people in the city County
Council in Cincinnati have been speaking out about what really happened,
and maybe it would be instructing to have one of
those authorities maybe speak on your show, if that's possible,
to set up and say exactly what happened. Because connecting

(51:51):
the dots, this the the demagogues trying to bring it
up as a situation where the black community is a
faults and they may have just been responding to something earlier.
Do you see what I'm saying? So I just think
for clarity, maybe you could talk to somebody in authority

(52:13):
over there and find out exactly what happened.

Speaker 2 (52:18):
Yeah. You can always contact people in authority and you
can always issue that. That's not hard at all, it's uh,
but I I yeah, I want to find out a
little bit more. Yeah, that's that's not that's not impossible
to do. It's not impossible because you know, they have
a great civil rights museum Intia. Everybody does.

Speaker 16 (52:37):
But that's another point, because the current president is exactly
is a threatening to do away with the Smithsonian Museums,
the African American Museum in Washington. They've already cut funding
for that, uh.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
Which is why I joined and became a member. You know,
I just one of the churches in Atlanta, I believe
is it might be passed to Jamal Bryant's. But that's uh,
that's one of their uh one of their community support
they you know, one of the organizations that they as
a church support as a you know, as a community service.

(53:12):
And so they took a vote right in the middle
of I saw the the service. They took a vote
in the middle of a sermon, and you know, got
a majority and got a quarter. You know, they had
every They did it all legally, and they said, okay,
so that allows them to send funding to that museum.
I had no such platform or what have you, but

(53:33):
I did have the opportunity to to join, and UH
told you know, shared with a couple of other folks.
So I said, well, no, I'll join and send them
a little something so that they can keep going. Because
Donald Trump, he can he can take the papers and
things down all he wants to, but he's not going
to change what happened. He just can't.

Speaker 16 (53:54):
But he's trying. And you know he took he took
the director of the Library of Congress. As you may remember,
they fired her, a lady of color. Yes, probably probably
a d iwer.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
You know, if they have, if they had their way,
Mister Russell, we are all de I hires. None of
us have any merit or any education or any qualifications
whatsoever for anything that we do. Uh, We're all just
here at the mercy of uh, you know, of whoever
wants to put us here because we're DEI hires.

Speaker 16 (54:32):
So absolutely. But but but the problem, the problem is
if you don't catch it early, like like like on
some of the commercials, you can pay them now, pay
them later is not as good as catching them early,
you know, trying. You may have heard that, uh, the

(54:53):
President has removed the uh information that at one of
the museums talked about in the impeachment double impeaching.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Yeah, they moved they removed it, but they put it back.
I think they put it back. It was removed for
a second or two and then they put it back.

Speaker 16 (55:09):
So but you know, next yeah, next next year is
going to be the two hundred fifty anniversary of the
United States, and it maybe we will have a convicted
fella as a president. How how's that gonna look in history?

Speaker 2 (55:24):
History has already been made because he is the president,
so it's already there.

Speaker 16 (55:27):
But he signed his best to whitewash everything, you know,
so well, good for him. Yeah, people, people, people who
have got to stand up now and get themselves prepared
to h The only thing that uh we can do
in terms of officially is make sure that uh next
year when there's a midterms election, that's gonna be it

(55:50):
a terrific year. You know, it's gonna be the two
hundred and fifty, the anniversary of the United States, but
it's also going to be uh mid year, a mind
term elections for congress man. This is our chance to
maybe slow things down, so hopefully people will get out
and do their thing and vote.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
Yep, we hope, we hope, we hope.

Speaker 8 (56:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
I don't want to. I don't want them to stop it. Registration.
I want them to register and vote, Register and vote, register.

Speaker 16 (56:20):
Vote the right way.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
Yeah. All right, Well, thank you mister Russell. I appreciate it.
Uh two three, one, seven, four eight zero thirteen ten
Ron go ahead, How are you?

Speaker 8 (56:33):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (56:34):
I am well? I am, well, thank you.

Speaker 7 (56:35):
You should well, like always sit teena, I'm trying to
stay out of stuff. But the name of clarity is
the specificity that if you rape a person, a man, woman,
or child, you should be killed.

Speaker 9 (56:49):
Am I clear on that one.

Speaker 14 (56:50):
I'm not talking to you, but I think you know.

Speaker 31 (56:52):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (56:52):
Secondly, I have a white two daughters, five granddaughters. Touch
one of them, and somebody I think I heard the
other day say you better be where the full it
prove bested so much for that the little girl who
was raped. That's up to that family. Whatever it is
is they wanted to do, they do that, and rarely
do I quote Tupacs, the only God can judge me.

(57:16):
Only God can judge you. That's between you and God.
And as somebody said, they don't believe in God, Okay,
that's your business. But for me and mine, I believe
in God. Only God can judge me. I'm perfect, not
even thinking about it. But I'm a man and I
know what goes on in this world. After sixty eight years,

(57:38):
I kind of know what goes on in this world.
Touch a go old girl, you should be killed. Touch
one of my grandchildren probably should be killed too. We
should take care of ourselves, be the best that we
can to live as people amongst other non perfect people,

(57:59):
because that's what we all, our non perfect people, we
try to get by every day. Just have to hope
you do the best. Remember that said of God. With
all your heart, mind, soul, the strength. Love your neighbor
as yourself, and everybody is your neighbor.

Speaker 16 (58:15):

Speaker 14 (58:16):
I'm wishing you all the best.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
And we're back with Community Connections. A couple of other
quick things I wanted to share before we go back
to the phone lines, and then after that, Danny Bridges
should be joining us with the sports from the Indianaplis Recorder.
But about seven something this morning, I was on a
group chat. Well I'm a part of a group chat,
and uh, this came across and you reminded me of it, Cameron.

(01:03:09):
It was one of the many things I was going
to get to. But I'm gonna read you the text.
It says victory in all caps and you know, exclamation points.
They identify every cause but the real one, our boycott.
Best news I've had all year, Target insider picked a
lead the struggling retailer. When CEO Brian Cornell steps down
next year, it looks like Target is struggling, struggling, struggling.

(01:03:34):
And but there is in this article that talks about
how the giant retailer is struggling. There's a leadership change,
there is UH. You know, they're they're losing money. Oh,
almost two thousand US stores have struggled UH to find
their footing since inflation caused principal UH caused. Inflation caused

(01:03:59):
pinch shop to curtail their discretionary spending. Customers have compared
or complained of the messy stores with merchandise that did
not reflect blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Yeah, right,
so inflation really Target, no word, and I agreed, no
mention of the boycott, the DEI and all the other stuff.

(01:04:21):
So sorry for your luck, Target, but boycotts to do work, y'all.
I think I do believe that that's part of what happened.
I do believe that, whether they want to admit it
or not. And then the other thing I was going
to share. A woman from West Lafayette did you hear
about that. No, she got arrested by the federal government

(01:04:42):
for making some pretty serious threats to kill Donald Trump.

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
This is from the Lafayetelafayette, Indiana their journal and Curry
your newspaper, says the US Secret Service officers arrested Lafayette
resident and Purdue graduate Nathalie Rose Jones on Saturday on
charges she threatened to kill President Donald Trump on her
social media platforms. They charged her Jones, who is fifty

(01:05:13):
most recently was living in New York City, threatened to kill, kidnap,
and disimbow Trump. That's not funny, but trust me, y'all,
I'm not laughing. But when you hear of threats against
someone's life, you generally don't hear that somebody wants to
disembalu you disimbowel you. So it just says she has

(01:05:39):
called him a terrorist and a Nazi and said if
she had the opportunity, she would take his life and
would kill him at the compound. According to the US
Attorney's Office release, Apparently, she traveled to d C to
participate in a protest that passed near the White House.
After the pro test, secret Service agents interviewed her a

(01:06:02):
second time, where she admitted to threatening the president the
day before, but told agents she didn't have any president
desires to harm him. She's fifty years old from Lafayette.
Was arrested Saturday, August sixteenth on suspicion of threatening to
kill President Donald Trump one of her social media posts. Okay,
then they give an example of one of her posts here,

(01:06:24):
threatening the life of the president is one of the
most serious crimes in one that will be met. Well,
this is prosecution, Okay, No, this is from the lawmakers.
I mean a law enforcement She graduated from Indiana Academy

(01:06:48):
for Science, Math, and Humanities at Ball State and then
attended IU but quit and joined the Army Reserves. Let's see,
she has some writings, but you know at her website
she charges a fee of one thy seven and seventy
six dollars to access her work. She also posted on

(01:07:13):
her Facebook page World Schizophrenia Day, and she discussed having
mental health problems and then she says, I am someone
who identifies as schizophrenic, and she was talking about its.
She was celebrating the day. What that means for me
is I think I'm famous. And let's get there, so
so on and so forth. So there was that was

(01:07:35):
that was pretty interesting. So target struggling, gonna have some
change at the top of leadership. And an Indiana woman,
of course, it's Indiana. Someone from Indiana threatened to kill
Trump and was arrested in the nation's capital. And yeah,
you know what I can hear y'all. Now, I know
what you're asking. Was this woman white or black? Or

(01:07:57):
but what was her ethic? She was a white woman. Okay,
a fifty year old white woman. There you go. Whether
that makes the difference, I don't know in terms of
how she's treated or in terms of charging or what
have you. But just to complete the picture, because y'all
are asking, and I know I'm going to get text
messages and whatever. Fifty year old white woman. For what
it's worth, let's go back to the phone lines, collor

(01:08:19):
online too.

Speaker 36 (01:08:20):
Go ahead, Hi, I found out late about the nine
seasons of Downtown. I was wondering, did they go to
any other parts of indianapolies? I just with downtown and
was it a major disturbing all?

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
But to the best of my knowledge, I think they
just marched through the streets of downtown. Now I have
heard of reports where they're marching in various cities. You know,
these little demonstrations are being held in a number of
cities across the US, But as far as where they
went here in Indiana and in Indianapolis on that particular day,

(01:09:01):
at that particular time, the only information I have is
that they marched just downtown.

Speaker 16 (01:09:08):
Okay, all right, thank thank you so much.

Speaker 30 (01:09:12):
All right, to be stopped, it really does.

Speaker 9 (01:09:15):
I'm sorry, I said, this behavior need to be stopped.

Speaker 30 (01:09:19):
I don't know why they would even allowed to be here.

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
It's a slippery slope because you know, you have to
balance First Amendment rights with you know, criminal behavior, and
as long as they're not engaging in criminal behavior, they
have the First Amendment right to express their opinions, so
to speak. And that's very very simplistic explanation of what

(01:09:44):
law enforcement has to deal with when these things happen.

Speaker 29 (01:09:46):
So I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
All right, all right, thank you, all right, thank you.
Three one seven forty zero thirteen ten. Reverend Phillips, go ahead,
how are you?

Speaker 4 (01:09:56):
Oh, how you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
I'm doing well? How are you doing?

Speaker 8 (01:10:00):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
When you keep that break, I like what that color
was saying.

Speaker 37 (01:10:05):
We should well uh, we should we should uh try
to help somebody and and try to uh uh uh
try to we help somebody.

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
We can help ourselves.

Speaker 20 (01:10:20):
But uh.

Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
So you got some people go out and help people.
Some people some people they they don't wanna, they don't
want to encourage people and to help them. Like if
I think somebody do wrong, I'm gonna pull you to
decide to correct it because that's the right way to

(01:10:45):
do because uh uh uh sometimes people sometimes that's how
sometimes we have to we we we know the problem.

Speaker 9 (01:11:00):
R we know what's going on, but we we we don't.

Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
We let stuff happen and then and then if if
it they't and then they say, well, if they ain't
hitting my house or I don't gotta worry about it.
We all in this together. We all in this two
were together, and we need to know how to work together.

(01:11:29):
Listen more. And because I know some people that call
on me these show, the radio show and they get
on national TV and talk about, uh the problems, Well say,

(01:11:49):
if we don't, we sometimes we got to look back
and say we the cause of this problem because we
we we don't we're scared to go to correct deal.

Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
Okay, Well, Reverend Phillips. I, I certainly appreciate that, and
you know, okay, I got that. Okay, all right, thank you, sir.
I appreciate that, appreciate it, appreciate it. I do believe
our sports guy with the Indianapolis Recorder is about to
join us. Is Danny there yet?

Speaker 14 (01:12:30):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
I hear his music. I know he's there. I know
he's close close by because the music is playing. So yeah, yep, yep,
there he is there, he is there, he is Danny.
How are you? I'm fine?

Speaker 8 (01:12:42):
How are you today?

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
I am splendiferous. I'm just having a great day of
you know me, you know, tonight, going with some friends.
You know, the Devour. I think it's the summer fest.
I love Devour, winter, summer, springs, whenever, because you get
so many different opportunities to sample menus at a discount price.

(01:13:05):
A lot of folks should take more advantage. Do you
ever go to Devour?

Speaker 38 (01:13:09):
Every day?

Speaker 8 (01:13:10):
Is Devour for me?

Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
So yeah, yeah, So I'm going to go to Devour
tonight with some friends. So that's a good time. But
I love a discount.

Speaker 38 (01:13:20):
So get out and enjoy yourself tonight because you deserve it.

Speaker 8 (01:13:26):
Well.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Thank you, thank you. Yeah, there's some there's some extra
extra discounts that they give earlier in the week than
they do on the weekend. So devour is a you know,
you're getting two for one, so it's it's always a
good thing, and you know, a good way to learn
about new places in the city and surrounding areas that
you don't always get to, uh, you know, get to
try out. So there you go. So I understand, I'm sorry,

(01:13:48):
what what's what?

Speaker 38 (01:13:49):
We'll wait, We'll wait your review of all the restaurants
next week.

Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
All right, Well, I can't go to all of them.
I work in radio. I can't go to all of them.

Speaker 38 (01:13:57):
But well, I'm sure you'll go to go to You're
a galloping gourmet with a with all the funds and
necessary resources.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
So yeah, well I'll do my best to go. But
I understand you're going to be out of town starting tomorrow. Correct,
You're going to be up in the air actually during this.

Speaker 38 (01:14:16):
Yeah, I'm going down to uh, Daytona Beach for the
NASCAR event that will place Saturday night on NBC The Roast.
Obviously Friday night will be the Exfinity Series, so I
won't be going to Milwaukee for IndyCar. This was a
planned thing, so I will rejoin IndyCar for the finale

(01:14:38):
the following weekend in Nashville. But looking forward to Daytona, it's,
in my opinion, is still a great, great venue. And uh,
you know, I didn't go to h on a five
hundred this year, wanted to, didn't, but Coke zero four
hundred is Saturday night and I think it will be
good theater.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Mm hmmmm hmm. Okay, okay, sound like sounds like a
nice weekend. I figured you're going to be sitting in
first class, speaking of dining, dining, well this time tomorrow.

Speaker 38 (01:15:07):
So I'm actually on a private plane tenaken, come on.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Oh my bad, My bad, My bad. Okay, you know
I'll private luxury.

Speaker 38 (01:15:16):
I'm sure I'll have whatever delicious snack that Southwest Airlines is.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Handing out, if they still hand them out.

Speaker 38 (01:15:23):
Yeah, yeah, that's true. But I'm I'm on a flight
to Orlando, Florida. We'ren a cheap car and drive to Daytona.

Speaker 8 (01:15:31):
So it's all good.

Speaker 2 (01:15:33):
It is indeed well, safe travels there and bag. So
sports boy, we finally got the answer to the question
folks have been asking since what mid April or so
to who the Colts are going to have lead the
team this year.

Speaker 38 (01:15:48):
Yeah, I was surprised from the standpoint that I thought
Richardson would get an opportunity to start on a very
very short leash. But that's not going to transpire. And
again I'm surprised by the move, but it's not It's
not as if either one of those guys has got

(01:16:10):
MVP written all over them in that regard. But I
still look at Anthony Richardson as being just twenty three
years old and having some raw talent that may or
may not serve him well. I do believe that the
Coats will have to make a tough decision if we
want to extend him and keep him in the fold,

(01:16:31):
or are we going to allow him to eventually become
an unrestricted free agent. And that's getting the cart in
front of the horse. But Daniel Jones is probably a
little bit better mechanically, maybe a little bit more from
this experience standpoint, seeing a little bit more that type
of thing. But I don't believe that either one of

(01:16:53):
these guys is the long term solution. On the other hand,
let's give Daniel Jones a chance to prove us all
wrong and to see what goes from there. But I
was surprised that the decision was made. But the big
question I have is who actually pulled the trigger.

Speaker 13 (01:17:09):
On the decision.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
That's that was my next question to you, Danny for
my first the first part of my question was what
about that decision surprised you? And who do you think
made that decision?

Speaker 38 (01:17:22):
Well, as far as the ladder of the two, I
I don't have any more of a clue than you do.
I will simply say this, you have new owner, a
new owner. I mean they're same family, but a new
principle is the owner you have h I still refer
to him as a general manager. I think the title
is vice president of football operations. But uh, as far

(01:17:45):
as Chris Baller is concerned, and obviously you have a coach.
Was it a joint decision? Does the ownership say, you, guys,
this is what you're paid for. Make the right decision
and they stay out of it. Does Ballard say stake
it that you're the coach, you know what's going on,

(01:18:07):
This is your decision. I got the ladder of the
three was the case. I just have to think that
it was a joint decision, more so than a sole
decision by the coach. I don't believe that he has
the ability. Let me rephrase that he certainly has the
ability to make decisions. Does he have the authority to
make a decision without a consensus at the very least

(01:18:29):
with Ballard and possibly the owner. But I would love
to know who made that decision. On the other hand,
it's been made. We're gonna have to see what happens.

Speaker 5 (01:18:38):
But.

Speaker 38 (01:18:40):
It'll be interesting to see. They have their last preseason
game Saturday. I don't think Daniel Jones will play. I
wonder if Anthony Richardson will or will they give the
entire game to Riley Leonard as far as their current
third string quarterback. But a lot of stuff went on,
a lot of moving parts. But I do not know

(01:19:00):
who made that decision. But I have a pretty good
feeling that it was a joint decision.

Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
Hmmm. So you think had it been the coach himself,
that the coach probably would have chosen Richardson.

Speaker 38 (01:19:15):
Well, hard to say. We don't know, but I would
think probably.

Speaker 8 (01:19:18):
I think.

Speaker 38 (01:19:20):
In the press and the press conference seemed very confident
about it and gave a few reasons about what he
thought he had seen what he was looking for and
what he felt Daniel Jones could do.

Speaker 26 (01:19:31):
Uh.

Speaker 38 (01:19:31):
I do think this that I think Anthony Richardson sees
the playing field. Yet this year, I'm not convinced that
Daniel Jones will will be uh the answer to all things?
And will he remain healthy too. Let's say it's a
tough game, so we have I don't think we've seen
the last of this year of Anthony Richardson, but have

(01:19:54):
we seen the last of him as being the starting quarterback?
Time will tell?

Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
Yeah, yeah, on this subject, I'm assuming this is what
they caller wants to ask you about Victoria. Go ahead,
do you have a question for Danny?

Speaker 4 (01:20:10):
Uh?

Speaker 30 (01:20:10):
Not only do I have a question for you?

Speaker 9 (01:20:14):
Hello, everybody. I really really enjoyed I really really enjoy
your show. And you know, one thing I'm learning is
that I went to church off sid did and I
listened to Pastor Jeffrey Johnson. I belonged to Pastor Covets.

Speaker 26 (01:20:34):
Church, and you know, Jeffrey was talking about the darkness
of life out.

Speaker 9 (01:20:40):
Of Psalm eighty eight. And in the meantime, you know,
you're seeing how a lot of us have a lot
of darkness. And I say this to say because.

Speaker 26 (01:20:49):
Even though Richardson and all of them have gotten the
position that they have gotten, and they have gotten stats
from different teams to go where they're going, don't nobody
know their cry out because see, he even made friends
with the darkness. And as the people on them feels
a lot of time, when they come successful like they do,

(01:21:12):
it's like a crowd that they have because.

Speaker 39 (01:21:15):
So many of us have been challenged through life on
different battle fields, whether it's mentally, physically or however, and
people pick us, you know, people, people seem.

Speaker 26 (01:21:27):
To pick us because not only do they see the
sportsman in us, and not only do they see the
conversation in us, but they see the light in us,
and they see that we are somebody because a lot
of times I feel I feel probably out like they do,
you know, and wondering why people keep picking me and
picking me and picking me. Sometimes they pick me for

(01:21:47):
the good, sometimes they pick me for the bad. Some
pick me because they don't feel like I'm gonna make it,
and some feel like I am.

Speaker 9 (01:21:53):
Gonna make it. But nobody knows about that darkness.

Speaker 6 (01:21:59):
In my life that I have to cry out on.

Speaker 9 (01:22:02):
But see he even made friends, like Jeffrey said Fuddy,
he made friends with the darkness, and that's a lot
of things a lot of us don't do, is make
friends with the darkness.

Speaker 15 (01:22:14):
So I feel like a lot of them in their.

Speaker 9 (01:22:17):
Sportsmanship has played a lot of.

Speaker 26 (01:22:20):
Parts in being in the darkness of their life where
a lot of them had so many challenges, whether it
was on the field, being raised up in their homes,
and they have cried out for some things.

Speaker 9 (01:22:32):
But God is also taken them through.

Speaker 30 (01:22:34):
Some challenges right now where they might not be.

Speaker 9 (01:22:38):
Taken up on what they were expecting to be taken
up to, but He's.

Speaker 40 (01:22:43):
Gonna give them their motivation and He's gonna give them
the equipment that they need to be the success that
they can be at that moment for whoever teams they
go on to.

Speaker 9 (01:22:56):
And I feel like they had a lot of clouds.
I feel like today I want so many crowds where
you know, you scareing people when you crowd to die
because they don't know what you and God are talking about.
They don't know what you're in your what you and
your guy have a relationship here.

Speaker 26 (01:23:13):
So I feel like that it's gonna be a good pick.
I really do, and I feel like that. I feel
like he's gonna be successful enough to where he's gonna
be able to have a lot of challenges, but he's
also gonna have a lot of great wins. Even when
he lose, he's gonna have a lot of great wins

(01:23:33):
and whatever battle he's on when he's on those field.

Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
So you're talking you're talking about Daniel Jones or are
you talking about Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 30 (01:23:41):
I'm talking about Richardson.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
Oh okay, okay, yeah, yeah, And you.

Speaker 26 (01:23:45):
Know, and I feel and I feel like he's gonna
get deep into those battles or whatever comes against him
to where he's gonna have enough crowd.

Speaker 30 (01:23:53):
Personally in his relationship because I'm pretty sure all of
them have a relationship with a higher power just to
get honestly comes to the to the park to day
in today, and I just feel like he's gonna he's
gonna be the bit.

Speaker 2 (01:24:05):
Okay, well, okay, all right, Well thank you, Victoria. I
appreciate it. And Danny, I think in maybe I'm getting
it right. I hope I am. But I think what
she's saying is that sports is a metaphor for life. Uh,
and that we all have, you know, hurdles to clear
and bridges to cross, uh and things that we have

(01:24:26):
to you know, things that come along in our daily
walk that are not always easy. But you know, so
I kind of I think I got that out of
what she was saying.

Speaker 38 (01:24:38):
Well, look, I will say this that I talked about
one thing earlier. He's twenty three years old. Yeah, very
little experience in college. I mean, he had some games,
but not that many. And we know what's happened here
in his brief career. So this is a challenge for
him and how he handles this. They very well dictate

(01:25:01):
the policy in terms of what he does for his
entire career, whether it be here or in another franchise.
So perhaps this will change his perspective on how he
has to approach things. Perhaps he learns from the experience,
and perhaps that knowledge and the experience can make him

(01:25:24):
a better football player and a better person, certainly a
better person hopefully.

Speaker 2 (01:25:29):
Yeah, and again an indeed metaphor for life. Who hasn't
gone through things? Lee, you have a question for Danny, Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 34 (01:25:39):
I just want to know their couse, the colt they
have gotten Serdor Sanders because I just feel like he's
a great and upcoming quarterback with a lot of you know,
college experience, and his dad is Dion Sanders have really
tremendously worked with him. I feel like he was about

(01:26:01):
so much vitality to the city of the Indianapolis.

Speaker 38 (01:26:05):
I'm just wondering, Well, certainly they could have drafted him
because they had picks and rounds prior to when he
was actually drafted in the fifth in the fifth round,
but with two quarterbacks on the roster, I don't think
he was a target for them for that reason specifically.
There may or may not have been other reasons, But

(01:26:26):
to your point, Sanders has been an interesting participant in
training camp.

Speaker 6 (01:26:34):
He is.

Speaker 38 (01:26:36):
Someone who has a lot of notoriety. He's someone who
has a higher profile from the experience that he had
in college. And I don't think the jury's out on him.
It may or may not work out for him in Cleveland,
but he's got some talent. Is he prepared to work
hard and to go to practice and to do all
the things you have to do to be an NFL quarterback?

(01:26:57):
I sure hope. So it would be a very interest
seen story to see a guy rebound a bit the
previous color talked about challenges. Well, he's got one right now,
and he's he's challenged to try to make the team,
and so I wish him the best. I think your
point is well made in the sense that could they
have drafted him, Certainly they could have a lot of

(01:27:19):
teams passed on him in those first four and a
half rounds. But uh, he's here now, He's got a chance,
and I wish him the best.

Speaker 34 (01:27:27):
Yes, sar, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Yeah, thank you. Uh, he seems to be doing well
in Cleveland. I haven't checked lately Sanders.

Speaker 38 (01:27:37):
He had a very respectable uh stint in his the
first time he played in an NFL preseason game. Obviously,
Joe Flacco has been the number one quarterback since camp started.

Speaker 4 (01:27:50):
Uh.

Speaker 38 (01:27:50):
I I don't know that he's gonna make their final
roster or not. It's gonna depend on how many quarterbacks
they want to keep. What would be h the value
perhaps on a practice squad. Could he be released and
picked up by another team, Could it be traded. All
those things are in play. But I think the main
thing for that young man, and this is just me,
is concentrating on football and not concentrating on anything but

(01:28:14):
football at a very important time of his career. He
hasn't established himself yet. You've got to get that under
your belt, and I think the best way to do
that is to learn from people who have more experience.
To study the game, whether it be preparation for the
opposition or just simply looking at films. Work on your mechanics,
and take advantage of the coaching and the people that

(01:28:37):
are around you. If it doesn't work out in Cleveland,
it doesn't mean that's the end of his career. But
the Browns have a decision to make, and I think
we're going to know about a lot more about this
particular young man. I would say, oh, week, week.

Speaker 3 (01:28:51):
And a half, he got hurt prior to and I
think it was a practice against the Eagles. They had
a team practice what they did right, and he got hurt.
He didn't get to play, and I think that kind
of played a part in their final decision keeping him
at the fore from the depth chart.

Speaker 38 (01:29:06):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's that's not a that's not
a plus for him. But on again, I don't I
don't think you can penalize the player for injury, but
he has a tap road to Hoe in that particular
situation with the number of people they've got in camp.
But again, you know, if it doesn't work out in Cleveland,
there's you know, there's other opportunities out there. I'd like

(01:29:28):
to see him get a chance to play and to play,
and that's why we can make a decision on Hey,
this guy does or does not have the ability to
play at the NFL level. So far, the jury's still
out there.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Yeah, yeah, let's uh uh, you know what, Let's take
a quick break. Jeff has a question for you, but
we'll get to that after the break because I don't
want to have to have the computer take it away
from HIMS before it's time to get Jeff's question in. Jeff,
you'll be up next after the break. We'll be right
back with Danny Bridges in Sports.

lot of calls today, Danny.

Speaker 39 (01:39:29):
Y, I'll tell you what this is.

Speaker 38 (01:39:31):
This is this is bountiful.

Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
Huh yeah, it is indeed indeed. Uh oh, this is
your buddy, Jeff. Jeff, go ahead, how are you?

Speaker 35 (01:39:39):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (01:39:40):
You know how you do? How are you doing?

Speaker 14 (01:39:41):
Danny?

Speaker 8 (01:39:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 38 (01:39:42):
Good, afternoon?

Speaker 13 (01:39:44):
Good?

Speaker 14 (01:39:45):
And before I get started off, say travels tomorrow. So anyway,
thank you.

Speaker 38 (01:39:52):
Good.

Speaker 14 (01:39:52):
You know, I'm okay with Daniel Jones being the starter.
You know, I think both he and Richard Terro, two Corbetts,
are looking for a second chance. And I'm probably looking
at the glass half full, set of half empty. So
maybe just what Anthony needs to, you know, observe and
you know, get his game together, and maybe Danny Jones

(01:40:16):
could put a spark back in whose career. But it
could turn out to be a win win, but I'm
keeping an open mind. Okay, this is where I really
want to say, well, the coach got two achilles heel.
The one is, I don't care if you're Joe Montana,
Tom Brady, Doug Williams or Donovan mcnath. If you ain't

(01:40:38):
got an offensive blind You're not gonna be successful that
and the other a Chilly Hield, Chris Ballar, Chris Ballark.
We had an opportunity to get Josh Allen, but we did,
but we wanted to get a senior citizen again as quarterback,
and once again we had that rotation of a generica
over senior citizen quarterbacks. So the Achilles heel we got

(01:41:02):
address dead the offensive line and the questionable decision. But
one Chris Ballad, that's all I got.

Speaker 38 (01:41:14):
Well, I think there's a couple of points I think
he makes our interesting. Number One he talked about the
offensive line, and let's take a step back, and the
focus has been who's going to be the quarterback? Which
quarterback is going to get the snaps, et cetera, et cetera. Certainly,
the quarterback position is important, it's vital, and it's an

(01:41:34):
issue with the Cole says they suit up you know
this year. But there are other areas of the team
that need improvement. Offensive line and secondary come to mind automatically.
So how good of an offensive line will Daniel Jones
be taking snaps behind? How good of an offensive line
will be blocking for Jonathan Taylor. How good of an

(01:41:58):
offensive line will give Daniel Jones enough time to throw
the football, whether it be to Michael Pittman Junior or
to other receivers. So that's a key component and a
very good observation by Jeff. I'm not sure that we
can talk much more about Chris Ballard. I think it's
pretty clear this is what I believe is a make

(01:42:19):
or break year for him. I really really do, and
I think if the folks don't make the playoffs that
they'll be changed in that position. Now, I am not
anybody within the inside information or crystal ball. That's just
my personal opinion, but I do believe that the new
owner is going to take a look at things. She
may be new as far as this is the first

(01:42:41):
year she's in charge of everything, but she's been a
roundless organization long enough to see what's happened in the
last two three four years, and as far as the
on field performance is concerned, so we're all evaluated performance based.
I don't believe that there is any doubt about the
fact that Shane Stike and also uh has got a

(01:43:05):
hots a little bit, a little bit of a hot
see not not as hot as ballads, but they're both
in a position where they need to win right now.
And I think that also went into the decision as
far as who's going to be the starting quarterback?

Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
HM, oh yeah, Oh, Jeff hung up. Jeff hung up.
But so there was there was your answer. Yeah, we're
we're going to see. We're all going to see and uh,
you know, hopefully the line will be better this year
and we won't go through ten quarterbacks that have been
hurt because they've been slammed to the ground. Uh, so
you know they're just you know, we're not going to

(01:43:40):
find out till it gets up and rolling up and
on his feet and rolling this Colt's machine, the Blue,
the Blue, the Blue.

Speaker 38 (01:43:47):
So we've gotta Their opening game is against the team
they should beat at home, and you know it's going
to be a day of celebration. They're going to induct
Jim or Say into the Ring of Honor, which obviously
somewhere he belongs. So there'll be some emotion for the
fan base, for the family, the ever Say family. But

(01:44:08):
once you kick the football off, that goes away. The
first time you hit somebody or you get hit, you're
back in business. As far as Hey, this is the NFL.
It's a brutal game. It is a fast game, and
it is a game where mistakes kill you as far
as the scoreboard is concerned. So you know, if the
Colts don't beat the Miami Dolphins in Week one at home,

(01:44:33):
I think the biggest reason for that might be their
secondary play and they're beat up. They don't have a
lot of depth, at least quality depth in my opinion,
so when you have injuries to that situation, it makes
it more difficult. I am not sure that Jeff is
totally off base when he talks about the offensive line,

(01:44:53):
but I think we have to look at the secondary
with similar scrutiny. But collectively, this team must play better
than it did last year, or I do believe that
there'll be a change in leadership as far as, uh,
the Chris Ballard position is concerned.

Speaker 2 (01:45:09):
Hmmm, okay, well, you know my feeling's on ballot so.

Speaker 38 (01:45:15):
Well, I want to make it I want to make
it perfectly clear. I mean, I'm not calling for his head.
I'm simply saying the decision may the decision has to
be made based on performance, and I personally like the guy.
He's been active off the field in uh foster care
for children, the adoption of children. He's been a he's

(01:45:37):
been a good citizen as far as that's concerned. But
the other side of that coin is he's in a
position to where you're evaluated on one thing, and one
thing only, how many games have you won. Let's face it,
the Colts haven't won their division for what probably six
seven years. I haven't seen a playoff victory in a
similar timeline it's been. It's been very very lean for him.

(01:46:02):
I can't say this enough. The seat is very, very warm,
and they've got to come out of the gate good
in September. I don't think anything less than three in
one of their first four games is going to cut it.
But that is certainly something that's gonna have to be
earned because in the NFL, even the worst teams are
good teams, and you've got to play football sixty minutes

(01:46:25):
both sides of the line. Time will tell. But there's
a lot of challenges on this roster that have nothing
to do with who Zach quarterback?

Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
Yeah, switching to the Indiana fever of aka bad Luck Bears.
Have you ever seen a franchise with as many injuries
in one short time period as the fever.

Speaker 38 (01:46:50):
Yeah, it's been it's been a very very rough season
for them from a standpoint of keeping their players healthy.
Do you know I said before in an article that
I thought it was time to shut Caitlyn Clark down,
and I obviously I believe that will be the case.

Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
Yeah, she's done, miss miss Cunningham.

Speaker 38 (01:47:09):
Obviously, that's a brutal injury. I don't know the extent
of the injury. As far as I know, she enjured
her knee. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:47:17):
I read an m c l and actually, well, I'm
just reading an article about her before you came on
so I could talk to you because I figured you'd
want to discuss it a little bit. But uh, she
went on a line to calm down, uh, you know,
to take the heat down a little bit in social
because a lot of people were blaming uh, the the

(01:47:41):
the other player. I can't remember her name that and
I'll get it in just a second. But anyway, she
was saying it was a basketball play. The other player
meant noel intent and you know, basically, in short, get
off of give her a break. We were playing ball
and it happened, and she said she didn't have any
ill will, but she did say an m c l
or m yeah, an mcl tier, and she was saying

(01:48:02):
that her doctors told her that if there was to
be any kind of a tear in that area, that
was the one to have, meaning she should be able
to recover from it fairly quickly. But I'm assuming surgery
just like all the rest of them. You know, what
was the exception of Caitlin who hasn't had surgery but
has been able to avoid it. But yeah, one, two, three,

(01:48:23):
I mean, it's unbelievable, unbelievable.

Speaker 38 (01:48:26):
Yeah, they've had an unfair you might say, number of injuries.
But the key thing I think is that it's given
some players an opportunity to have the ball more in
their hands, and some people haven't distinguished themselves succordingly. There's
no way in the world you can think anything other
than everybody will be healthy when next season begins. Everyone

(01:48:49):
should be so you'll get an opportunity then to get
a look at what it's like to have all your
players in training camp moving forward toward a summer of
which is obviously get to the playoffs, win playoff series,
and compete for a championships. So the Fever attendance is
still solid. There's still a selling merchandise in the pro shop.

(01:49:13):
It's still a very popular brand of basketball here locally
and for that matter, in various places across the United States.
I do believe, if I'm not mistaken, I saw where
they have eclipse the attendance record this season. More people
have bought a ticket to see a WNBA game this
year than in any other season historically, So that's a

(01:49:36):
positive thing. They're at the tables with the collective bargaining
that's ongoing. That will resolve itself, it always does. They're
gonna get a bump, a good bump, I might add
in terms of salary and benefit. Is it going to
be everything they want? Well, time will tell. Usually in
those types of negotiations, neither side gets everything they want.
But I think there's a lot to be optimistic about

(01:49:59):
for the India and a Fever. But I think everything
now points the next season.

Speaker 2 (01:50:04):
Yeah, you were talking about Cameron the other day that
a marketing agreement that or was it you? Wasn't it you? Yeah,
that you could possibly foresee a lockout.

Speaker 3 (01:50:17):
Yes, it's all but inevitable because the numbers don't add
up what they're asking for the league does not generate
as of yet. Now, Like you've always brought up the
media deal, it's an eleven year deal, but they're not
getting any money up front. It's over the course of
a decade. So they're asking for more than what the
league actually generates. It's almost like they want a piece
of a pie that doesn't exist. They haven't even baked

(01:50:38):
the pie yet.

Speaker 38 (01:50:40):
It's a very good assumption or assessment.

Speaker 8 (01:50:42):
Brother.

Speaker 38 (01:50:42):
I couldn't agree with you more and I would add
to that that you have to think about where you
have been with this league and where you're at now.
In other words, there's progress that's been made, the product
has been proven to be desirable from a television perspective.
The women are talented, they play spirited basketball. There is

(01:51:05):
entertainment value here. But to your point, there were teams
in the league last year who were in the red.
I can't sit here and tell you how badly and
how much this versus that, but that in itself, over
time I think can be rectified. But you're absolutely correct.
You have to be careful at the table and think

(01:51:27):
long term. You're not going to get everything. And I
don't think that there will be any doubt about play stoppage,
but I think that could be forced upon them rather
than them creating such And nobody wants that. You've got momentum,
you're making strides. Get this thing done as amicably as possible,

(01:51:47):
as fairly as possible, and move on to the new era.
And it is a new era for the WNBA. These
last two or three seasons has been a sharp incline,
and all the metrics are there, all the optics are there.
Don't lose that momentum. And for that matter, that goes
for both sides at the table. There's plenty of money
to go around. Just have to figure out how we're

(01:52:09):
going to disperse the funds for lack of a better term,
and it's more than just money. There's other issues at
the table. But salaries obviously are under the white hot
spotlight right now and they're gonna have to come to
a term of this is not what we wanted, but
it's a hell of a lot better than what we had.

Speaker 3 (01:52:28):
Revenue percentages as well. I mean, when they've lost forty
to fifty million per season, that's something that you can't
ignore ignore out.

Speaker 38 (01:52:35):
I mean, I think you missed your calling as a CPA.

Speaker 2 (01:52:38):
I just want to say that, yeah, yeah, they won't.
You know, it makes sense, makes sense, makes lessons. What
else is going? What are you working on, Danny?

Speaker 38 (01:52:48):
But I'm gonna I'm gonna write something about what I
think Anthony Richardson can do, and I'm just gonna leave
it at that. But U in clothing today. I want
to remind people that just because I'm not gonna be
at the Indy Car racism, I mean you can't be.
Milwaukee is a historic venue, very rich history of the
Indy Car Series. They do a nice job at the Fairgrounds.

(01:53:08):
It's very family friendly. You could drive up there in
four hours if you don't have anything to do this weekend,
make a road trip out of it. But of course,
as always Fox Sports will have it. And I believe
it's two o'clock Eastern time when the festivities begin.

Speaker 2 (01:53:24):
Alrighty, as we said before, Danny, save travels. We will
talk with you when you get back. Enjoy yourself and
be safe out there.

Speaker 8 (01:53:33):
Listen.

Speaker 38 (01:53:34):
Thanks for the opportunity, And again I just want to
simply leave you with this. I don't think Anthony Richardson's
career is over. It may or may not be here
in Indianapolis, but at age twenty three, with that type
of athleticism, but that type of talent, I think there's
a place for him somewhere in the NFL. If it's
not going to be Indianapolis.

Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
All right, we'll leave it right there. Thanks Danny, we'll
talk to you again next time, looking forward to it.
Thank you and thank you. Bye byen. That's all the
time we have for Community Connection for right now. Willie
Moore Junior on the radio is up next. We'll be

all means, stay informed. I'm Tina Cosby and this is
