And good afternoon, Good afternoon, and welcome to Community Connection.
Just trying to get my computer up here. I got
it going now. The screen was a Cameron. The screen
was gone, so oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it's both technical,
oh yeah, amongst all the rest of them.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Anyway, Well, welcome to Community Connection everyone. I'm Tina Cosby.

Speaker 2 (00:47):

eight zero thirteen ten three one seven for eight zero

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah yeah, oh my open here. Yeah, here we go.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
We're still checking and making sure we get everything technically
correct as we are heading into the start of the show.
But as I was saying, yeah, the phone lines are open,
uh three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten. Wanted
to catch up on a couple of things today. Let's
see probably one of the bigger things happening locally for

(01:26):
a lot of people who have had a lot to
say about utility bills that have been just spiraling out
of control. And by the way, uh, it's not just
an Indianapolis, Indiana thing. My understanding is the cost of
producing power has just skyrocketed across the country. But we

(01:48):
live here in Indianapolis and that's the situation that we
want to deal with. So this past Monday, there was
an as utility rate hike public hearing, the first of
four where the public can come out and give their
thoughts to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission as to.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Why or why not otherwise.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Suspect ninety nine percent of the public feedback is going
to be why not, why we should not have the Yeah,
there it goes, there's something else, right, I take Technology
is just all over the place, isn't it anyway? So
I can't imagine anybody saying that they should they want

(02:32):
a rate increase that they wanted to you know, hey, yeah,
keep jacking the prices up. We wanted up as much
as we can possibly get it. I don't think that
that's going to happen. But the good news is that
you do have an opportunity to say why it should
not be granted, why the Commission should not grant AES's
request for yet another rate hike. So tonight tonight tonight tonight, Thursday,

(02:59):
eight twenty one, at the Southeast Community Services Center, nine
o one Shelby Street, nine to one Shelby Street, the
second floor auditorium.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
That is your next opportunity to do so.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
The number, let's see, there's no number, okay, it's just
that the hearings start at six o'clock. The hearings will
start at six o'clock. I don't think there's a number
you can call in. I don't know where somebody told
me something like. But anyway, this is in person, an
in person meeting. Pardon me, I'm scanning information as I'm talking,

(03:35):
trying to do eighteen things at one time. But today
is the second meeting this week. It's going to be
at the Southeast Community Service Center, nine o one Shelby Street,
second floor auditorium. Make your voice heard. The hearing will
start at six o'clock. And then next week there's going
to be two more, one on Monday and one on
Wednesday of next week. Anytime, at any point in time.

(03:58):
You can submit your written comment through September second by
going to theien dot gov slash O U C c

your online form.

Speaker 3 (04:12):

one is the second of four hearings, the second of
four live in person hearings for you to let everyone

(04:35):
And you can say yay or nay at that meeting
and your comment will be recorded. Your public comment will
be recorded.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
As I said, the phone lines are open.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Got a whole lot more stuff to get to, but
you know, we can start talking to folks right now
if you want. Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten.
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Jeff, go ahead, how are you?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Eight?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
And a came around you guys, doing doing good, doing good?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Uh? Did you see kenan or cam? Did you guys
see that uh tow with yes, animal that that that
that that that creature we call a lieutenant governor.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yes, I did.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Woman and they roughed that woman up.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I didn't see that, I read about it. I just
saw a brief clip. I saw a brief clip on
the news, and they were getting rough and they were
getting ugly. And of course, uh Micah beck With is
who you're talking about, right?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
And animal wow? Uh so he yeah, he was.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
And then he put something on social a little bit
later that outside forces and you know people that they're
disruptors or what have you.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Know, these are your people who.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Uh huh, who are talking to you and who are
telling you they're upset and you're still not hearing people.
You're still not hearing them. And they every time there's
a town hall or a gathering of constituents that are
letting the GOP or GOP representatives know what they feel
and what they think.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Pardon, that's what GOP stands for a group of pedophiles,
the group of perverts.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Well, you know, at any rate, what they do. They deflect,
They still refuse to accept that their own people, that
they represent, their people, Republicans are upset with them and
they want them to change their ways, and they simply
will not pay attention. Now, maybe I don't know how
much I take, you know, maybe, just maybe there will

(06:36):
be reckoning at the ballot box during the mid terms.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
That's a long time from now, but I don't know
how else to get their attention because they are in control.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
They're doing what they want to do.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
And to heck with whoever you are, whether you're a
Republican or not, We're going to do what we want
to do and we're going to say what we want
to say.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
So yeah, I'm glad you pointed that out. They seem
to be there Monterrey any time. They're his teachers getting
their faith. It's democratic outside agitators or paid PROI protests. No,
these are your people who's who voted for you, and
you threw them under the bus because you're beholding through
the billionaire class. So you know, and that's what all

(07:17):
this is, you know, And this is as Malcolm X
one said, the chickens are coming home the roost and
these people can't deal with it, and you know they
couldn't and you can. They can keep blaming it's the Democrats.
It's the Democrats. No, it's your own people that voted
for you. And I want to and uh, I want
to get your take tin on Gavin Dosome and what
he's doing. You been know, you've been checking that out.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I have been following that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
What is it with Republicans? They condition up, but they
can't take it. Uh they you know, uh not you know,
Donald Trump been doing this nonsensical with the last eighteen years,
and now they now is getting thrown back in their face.
And now they're crying like a bunch of little, you know,
little school kids. Whatever, you know, what's the matter? I
can dish it up, but you can't take it? Or

(08:02):
well I thought you I thought you guys were you know,
uh so tough whatever, But now that you're getting it
coming back at you. And that's what I've been saying
about Democrats. Democrats got stopped playing nice.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
They have I'm sorry, you know, I agree.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I mean, you know, I don't want to hear no
more from not miss McConnell. I don't like him anyway,
he's a scumback. But people like uh uh Chuck Schumer
and Nancy Pelosi and all these Democrats, all these good
to shoot Democrats. No, we need more Jasmine Crocketts. We

(08:40):
need more uh the King, Jeffer, We need more lawn Martin.
We need progresses and liberals to say, you know what
we you know, we're not doing this authoritarian thing, you.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Know, but they're doing it now.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Jeff, have you noticed, and I know you've heard about
that Texas lawmaker in the state of Texas that had
to sleep. Oh, it's sick, is sick, and there are
a lot and nobody saying or doing anything about these people.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Where's all the brothers that they should have came to
that woman's defense? I thought, you brothers, Oh, I know
you guys been listening to Ice Cube and steven A.
I get it. You know, this black woman standing on business.
But where all the brothers at where you have brothers,
you know, with the exception of Roland Martin and Clay
Kane and a few others, you know. But no, that

(09:28):
is so sick, Like this woman. You gotta you gotta
have a permission slip.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah, and she had.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
She had to just stay inside those chambers. She could
go to the magi. She was held hostage because they
were gonna.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
I mean, what in the world, I mean, how that is?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
That is fascism at its height, and nobody is saying
democrats aren't. I mean, well, the Democrats are, But then
what the National Democratic Party or somebody should be down
there fighting that for the Democrats in Texas. They're fighting,
but who's helping them, who's got their back?

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah? True, And I'm glad that Barack Obama's finally taking
off the gloves. And you know, as much respect as
I have for the former first Lady Michelle Obama, when
they go low, we go high. No, when they go low,
I'm like Eric Holder, kick him in the face.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
I said, well, you know what I think she was
talking about all conditions, you know, all all field, you know,
a level playing field, you know, both sides playing the
same game. She I don't think she had any idea
that it was this that was going to get this bad. Yeah,
I you know that, just simply No, you.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Know they don't want full blown fascist and you know
you don't play with fascistry. Tells us you don't play
with fast You didn't people in Germany didn't learn their
lesson with Hitler, people in Italy didn't learn their lesson
and with Mussolini. So no, you know, I ain't trying
to be friends with the KKK. Tina. I just I

(10:57):
don't want to be your friend. I ain't trying to
be friends with their Heritage Foundation. I ain't trying to
be your friend. You know. You go take away my
right and my right to vote, my right to exist
as a citizen in this country. No, no, no, no,
no more playing games?

Speaker 5 (11:13):
You know?

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Uh? And I like what Gavin News to do. We
need more like Gavin News. So we need we don't
need no more Chuck Schumers. No, Chuck Schumer needs to
go somewhere and retire and play golf somewhere. Sorry, you
know him tech Nancy Pelosi with you. We need more
Jasmine Crockets and and uh and uh uh, Aliah Presley
and others that AOC we need more than you know

(11:37):
has really said that. It's black women and women of
color standing up. Where's the brothers at? Oh? I know
where your brothers are at? Yeah, real housewives of Atlanta
in Annapolis? Coach the Pacers, you know?

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Now?

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Okay, all right, okay, all right, brothers. What we're gonna do?
You know, you couldn't vote for it. You couldn't vote
for a Tamala, but you voted for con artists.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
You know what, Jeff And a lot of ways. I
don't think a lot of people know what to do.
I don't think they know where to get started. I
really don't because they're throwing so much at so many
in so many different areas.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
They're flooding the zone. I mean, where where do.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
You start with all the corruption and the you know,
the flat out, flat out cheating. Yeah, well, it's to
keep awake. But Epstein, that's not that's still not going away.
I still see that one not going away.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
So we'll we'll find it away.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
No, that can not going away.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
That can very well.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
You know, are you Trump supporters out there, are you
black ones too, especially you will call in on Tina
cub you support a pedal foul basis?

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Yeah, man, there we go.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Uh anyway, thank you, Jeff, appreciate it. Three one seven
four eight zero thirteen ten. Three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten. As I was saying, uh, you know,
and I'll repeat it again Tonight the next meeting for
public comment that will be taken for the AEES rate
hike request. Uh so uh and that's going to be

(13:01):
at South the Southeast Community Services Center nine on one
Shelby Street in the second floor auditorium.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Again.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Tonight is the next public meeting public hearing. They're going
to take public comment about AES's raid high request and
that's going to be on the Southeast side, Southeast Community
Services Center, nine o one Shelby Street at the second
floor auditorium. The meeting will start at six pm. Sam,
go ahead, how are you hey?

Speaker 4 (13:29):
How you're doing? Tina? You give him a Frank little Brooks.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Willy Frank, Yes, yes, I did you know?

Speaker 4 (13:36):
We always say the Calgary is not coming.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
The Calary's not coming. It's up to us to save us.
And there's a fly, you know, something in the milk
and white. You know, my mother used to say there's
a fly in the buttermilk. Willie Frank used to say
something in the milk and white. So they were both
saying the same thing.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
Right, So what we have to do stop depending on
the system, the government and all other scenario than not
going to do anything to help us.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
Tina, We've been going for Democrats for fifty years. We
still complaint, well.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Complaining, you know, I those that are involved in the system,
meaning if you vote and you you're that's easier the
concerns and the frustration is easier to take than from
someone who does not vote. Has no intention of voting
and things of that nature. That's just difficult to take
because you already checked out. So what are you complaining

(14:34):
about if you've already checked out?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
So, I you know, I get it.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
You know, there's some that and it's frustrating because you
have done what you can do, you have done what
you supposedly have been you know, admonished to do, you
performed your civic duty, and you still get kicked in
the teeth the way a lot of people explain it.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
So that I understand that.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
I don't understand people that complain and yet won't do
anything about it.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
That's that's just really hard for me to wrap my
head around.

Speaker 7 (15:03):
So, and that's why if you take a look at
the solution, Hello, hello.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yes, what's the solution? What do you?

Speaker 8 (15:15):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Yeah, the solution? Yeah? What do you What are you saying?

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Did you take a look at it?

Speaker 2 (15:20):
I did. I looked at it, and I looked at
it and I went, you know, it's it's it's it's
a thought.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
You know.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I can't say that I would go so far as
to call it a solution, because well, of course, of
course you would. But given the fact that it's in
its early stages, given the fact that there are some
who have concerns about it, there are some who have
not enjoyed the same results as others who have enjoyed

(15:48):
fantastic results. So I think a little bit more time
for it to develop, and you.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Know, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
So I you know, it's cautiously optimistic because I think
we're going to need things like this, but you know,
it just has I just don't think it's been hashed
out to the point where I would be say, willing
to say this is a solution to everything.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
No, I don't think so now, not tolut everything.

Speaker 7 (16:12):
What you need to do is talk to the CEO
of the company. That's what you need to do, not.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Really really what it is.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
What he at right now. It's booming out there.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Good. I don't need to be sold, though, Sam, nobody, the.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
President of the company is going to give me a
sales pitch as opposed to okay, no, okay, go ahead,
But I don't need to.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Be sold.

Speaker 7 (16:42):
Because that's what I'm talking about that I don't want
no sales pitch. I want documentation. But it better than conversation. Yeah,
and he gave me documentation. Okay, that's why.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
I am you know, in that about too much. I
would be.

Speaker 7 (17:01):
As a matter of fact, I would be out of
the problem that we have it today.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
I put it that way.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Okay, we're good for you.

Speaker 7 (17:08):
Yeah, but at the same time, people need to know
and give it, give them an idea like okay, let
me decide what I want to do. But who we
don't give our community something to look at right now?

Speaker 4 (17:24):
They don't have nothing to look at.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
People do.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
And you know what, I encourage people to get online
and look for alternatives and figure out what will work
best for you.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I cannot you know, advertise for a particular Yeah, yeah,
it is.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
It would be straight up advertising if I tell people
this is your solution to your power problems, that that's
exactly what that would be.

Speaker 7 (17:48):
Well, okay you to say that, but but what about
I'm just saying, it's just so many people that that
have a solution and they are satified with a solution
and it ain't going nowhere.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Mm hmm. Well again, uh and and I, like I said.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
I read and read and read, and I looked at
you know, I looked at the pros and the consent.
I mean there, you know, there's plenty there's enough of both, uh,
and so yeah, there are and so therefore that and
I'm not a spokesperson or an endorser for anything. And I,
you know, I I certainly you know, look for ways
to cut down on my power bills all the time
as well. And uh so we all should, you know,

(18:28):
we all should investigate and look into what's gonna work
best for ourselves.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
You know, I think so.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
So that and on that we do agree, right, Okay,
thank you, Sam, I appreciate it. Indeed, Yeah, And uh,
Sam is talking about a product that's out there that
that boasts a number of things, uh in terms of,

(18:54):
uh saving you money on your power bill by going
completely off the grid.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
And there are several.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Such products, say if you will and such I guess
I don't know claims. But that's that's not that's not
for me to get into what he asked me to
look at it, look at it, look at and I did,
and I did spend some time on it. And I
would never say that that is the solution. Uh, it's

(19:23):
it's but you know, good for him, I say, good
for him, Good for him? Uh three one seven four
eight zero thirteen ten three one seven four eight zero,
thirteen ten, Joe, how are you doing?

Speaker 9 (19:35):
Good afternoon, Tina? How are you?

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I'm well, thank you.

Speaker 9 (19:39):
Listen. Uh, people that decided that that didn't want to vote,
I hope they're opening their eyes now.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yeah, well we can only.

Speaker 7 (19:48):
Hope what's going on.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
We can only hope. Yeah, But I'll tell you one thing.

Speaker 9 (19:52):
That would bring Texas to their needs immediately if it happened.
I'm not saying it will. I know that it's not
going to happen. And you know what that is.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
What's that.

Speaker 9 (20:05):
If every black athlete that was playing college ball in Texas,
especially football, would turn around and see it, we're out
of here.

Speaker 10 (20:20):
Well yeah, especially at the University of tay m.

Speaker 9 (20:26):
It would bring those people to their knees. I guarantee
it will, because they're doing nothing but making money off
of them anyway. But the bottom line, if they turned
around and said, hey, if that's the way you want
to act, fine, we're going to go to a HBCU

(20:47):
and don't tell me that we can't get drafted out
of HBCU because you can and watch the spotlight change
from Hey, wait a minute, we lost all of our
black players. Our stars are now playing come out of Oklahoma,
all of those places. It's acting crazy. I wish that

(21:09):
the black players would get together and say, hey, we're
out here.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
But Joe, don't you think that with these people who
are pushing the envelope to where, you know, just pushing
it to where it's just absolutely absurd, don't you think
they're asking for something like that? Because quite frankly, I
don't think it's so far off, you know, out of
the imagination. I don't think it's so far fetched that

(21:33):
something like that could happen. And you know what, you
know why it could happen, because they're asking for it.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
I don't think it's that far fetched.

Speaker 9 (21:42):
I'll tell you what. You are probably talking on the
side of close to what they really want. But you
know something, there are some dire hard football fans in
Texas that and if they lost their star players and

(22:03):
they went to another school, I mean all of them. Yes,
it would be some white people that would say, hey,
that's why we wanted. But guess what it would be
more to seeing bull craft. That's not what we want.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
No.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
No, the borers that being know very well what economy,
what an economy these athletes bring to these universities. They
wouldn't talk, they would jump to there, they would just
do backflips to do anything to get these guys back,
because if they don't have them, they don't make the money.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
But what I'm saying, you know, I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
I think if that would happen, that would shut it
down in no time whatsoever. And my point being is
that if they keep it up, they're going to ask
for something like that or something similar to that where
they're going to be brought to their knees because people
can only take so much.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
You can only take so much.

Speaker 9 (22:51):
Yeah, and the thing is being a fan of football
like they are in Texas when we live there, very
high schools, they've got stadiums as big as some of
our college stadiums. Yeah, and if that happened, they said, okay, fine,
you've got it. And and like I said, I know

(23:12):
it's not going to happen, but it would bring those
people to their neees right now because financially and uh,
from an athletic standpoint, University of Texas just could not stand.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Yeah, they're you know, they're just forgetting about a whole
lot of stuff. And then you know what gets me
is the arrogance thinking that they can do whatever they
want and everybody's just going to sit and take it.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
You know.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
Well, like you told Jeff Tina that that guy stood
up in Texas and said, the reason we are doing
this is to strengthen our Republican Holdever, he.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Said that, he said it, didn't he he said the
quiet part out loud and.

Speaker 9 (24:05):
And the bottom line has said obviously people that didn't
vote were not listening to what Harris said because she
told you exactly what is happening now, she told you
it would happen.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Well, they couldn't get past the fact of her color,
and they couldn't couldn't get past the fact that she
was a woman, a woman, and that I like I said,
I will take that to the bank any day of
the week, any week, any month, anytime that that. Anybody
that says it is anything different, they're just they're just
not being honest with themselves.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
But yeah, they weren't going to take and.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Oh she was associated with Biden, and Biden was a
failure and he was you know, no, no.

Speaker 9 (24:44):
I'll tell you, I'll tell you the other thing. I'm
waiting to see what's going to happen when they take
to the Supreme Court in a racial marriage.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Well, you talk about football player, I know, I know,
I'm just laughing because there's a number of them in
professional sports, and that's what I'm saying. Yeah, and so
you talk about a walkout, yeah.

Speaker 9 (25:10):
High school. And the Trump administration is pushing of the
Supreme Court to rule on in racial marriages.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
I have not yet heard that one. I mean, there's
so many that he has. Was he going to write
an executive order on interracial marriages?

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Is that what you're hearing? Hey, you know, let me
look that up. I didn't hear you.

Speaker 9 (25:30):
It's like brainstorming. Start throwing it up against the wall
of whatever sticks. Go with it.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Okay, Okay, I see what you're saying.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Whoa doing it so much that they're totally confusing people.
But when he came on with that thing about Smithsonian
and all these other things, how many people screamed that
their TV cussing.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
I have no idea.

Speaker 9 (25:59):
A lot. Yeah, forgive us Jesus Christ for what we said.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
M Yeah, but I do you do want to get
in the heads of people that just set it out
and decided they weren't going to vote this cycle Because
everybody's the same, and it doesn't matter, and my vote
doesn't count. It might have been the last time you
had a chance to vote where it does count. So
if they keep on this path.

Speaker 9 (26:31):
I forgot I'm saying about it. Somebody on this radio
stage to believe we're colored boys, and US colored boys
are never building anything or done anything positive for this
United States. So it might be that US Colored boys
need to go back being slaves like they think or

(26:51):
he thinks that we should be.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Yeah, well there's that too.

I'm doing well as I'm doing just as well.

Speaker 9 (34:50):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (34:51):
I just wanted to make a comment about something I
heard one of the previous callers talking about the black people, say,
like Ice Cube, who made a statement that he was
voting for Trump because he didn't want to pay taxes.

(35:11):
He wanted the tax cuts. And I was thinking, and
I said, that's just that was when he said it
back then. I said, that's sad for all the artists
that we made famous now in a position where they're saying,
I don't care about y'all, it's all about me. They're
not doing anything to help us. They're in a position

(35:32):
where they could make a difference and they choose not to,
and they and then they go out and they'll make
another rappers. Let me okay, this was my Let me
go back to this. For those that destroyed our communities.
Before they became famous, you were drug dealers and it
was all about you then. And now that you're famous
and we helped you get there, it's still all about you.

(35:53):
There's still no real support for them to give back
in their community. They had an opportunity, but they chose
their their own security. They were rich, you weren't struggling
like people are now. But you stepped down from your
position of power that you were in, that we placed
you in, and you gave in because all you thought

(36:15):
about was yourself. And then we we don't even pay
attention to stad. We'll go they'll make another movie, right,
and make another song, and we'll go right to that
next tour, right to that next opening, and then give
our hard earned dollars to somebody who told us I
don't care that y'all suffer as long as I'm good.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Well, what does that say about us and what we
need to do? Because how many more times do we
have to be shown that example? And you know, in
terms of where we hold our entertainers and our you know,
the esteem in which we hold these folks. I mean,
what does that say about us? And what is the
lesson for us?

Speaker 5 (36:50):
You know? What it says is we need to really
open our eyes and not we and take life a
little bit more serious so that if always someone the
need to be in certained, because while we're being entertained,
they're making plans, they're setting goals and things and and
saying and they're setting a standard for just themselves. So

(37:13):
we need to come together and try to figure that's
that's the problem right there.

Speaker 10 (37:18):
It's a division.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
If there's there's not it's not all people for the
people it's there is, there's a great division. There are
a lot of missing links, you know, in our community,
especially with our entertainers, the and what we can do,
what we say about other stores, Target and all of them.
Maybe we need to do the same to bring an

(37:40):
opening and awakening. Put it like that, in a shifting
in what we have built, where we sacrifice, where we
took our last little dollars and made sure we had
ourselves together to go support them, maybe they need we
need to do something to open their eyes.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Well, and they're there in lies the rep because with
out you, me and the other how how do they
become who they are?

Speaker 5 (38:05):
That's it, That's my whole point.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
Yeah, without so how But you know, the thing that
I guess is troubling is that now that they have achieved,
now they've gotten to the pinnacle or whatever point in
their success that they want to be, they don't have
to worry about what we think or what we say,
because that you know, it's like the ose I got mine,
you know, because that I think, Yeah, I think a
lot of that criticism was leveled at Snoop UH and

(38:31):
and some others is like, they don't they don't have
to worry about what our reaction is going to be.
They're going to do what they want to do and
in the best interest in themselves in their families, which
is fine. But can't two things be true at the
same time. Can't you do us in the best interest
of yourself and your families? And can't you also reach
back and help and have a heart for those who

(38:51):
uh you know where you get to where you are,
or support the causes for those who have you know,
maybe you can't help people individually, maybe you can help
you know, certain causes.

Speaker 23 (39:02):
UH.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
And there are you know, I don't want to say
that they're all like that. There there are. I'd almost
be willing.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
To say most of them that have achieved a certain
amount of success have done something to give back into help,
because that's that's just the way they are now in
terms of coming out UH and UH personally UH endorsing UH.
You know, one of the most polarizing UH political personalities

(39:32):
there ever has been in the history of the United
states politics, that that's something a little bit different, and
that that to me suggests a certain amount of tone deafness,
uh more so than me and stuff that that's that's
kind of tone deaf because you're not really seeing, uh
you know, what this person actually represents and does. So
there are a few that fall into that category, but

(39:54):
there's always a few, but I think for the most
but we gotta we got to stay on top of it.
And if we see, uh, if we see some of
those who are not necessarily down for helping uh, those
that should be helped, and you withdraw your support, that's
that's the power we do have.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Withdraw your support.

Speaker 5 (40:11):
Power we do have.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
That's right, you know, that is the power we do have.

Speaker 23 (40:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
As far as the ice Cube, I don't know. I
I you know he. I don't know anything about where
he is right now politically.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
What has he done?

Speaker 3 (40:25):
Is he still a supporter of Trump? Is that the case?

Speaker 5 (40:29):
The last that I heard he verbally announced that publicly
announced that that's.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
What he was doing. So so Cameron, you're closer to
the sort I mean, to the to the culture. What
have you heard anything about Cube?

Speaker 28 (40:42):
It doesn't I didn't, I didn't follow Cube during the
political you know, campaign this go around. But it wouldn't
surprise me if he verbally was vocal in the position
most people probably in as far as not wanting to
pay taxes.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
What nice tease was was he in that group too?

Speaker 28 (41:00):
I didn't Maybe he wants to speak out about politics
to go around. I may have missed it, but as
far as Ice q Den was probably considering what he's
a part of with the Big Three and what he's
done is throughout his career in all the different ventures
he's a part of. He's in that tax bracket that
doesn't want to get touched tax wise.

Speaker 23 (41:18):
You know.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
Yeah, I heard something else.

Speaker 5 (41:24):
And if they don't want they don't want to be
touched with their tax that means they don't want to
support because that's what the taxes were used for to
support schools, agencies and all these different things where the
money went to help keep America and struggling people are
poor people, less less advantished people at a place of

(41:45):
of living, you know what I'm saying. And they took
their support away from that when they took their money.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
I don't know, but yeah, well we'll keep an eye
and certainly, but I don't know if.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
He's for you seeing any new music or whatever.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
He like, Cameron was saying, he's got that that league,
that basketball league, that three on three league that he's
he's looking to do. But you know, conversely, yeah, Cube
is a disappointment. But look at how much the Magic
Johnson's of the world have done.

Speaker 28 (42:18):
Why don't we talk about what's going on in California.
California's going bankrupt as far as what I mean, have
you not seen what's going on California lately as far
as unemployment and everything in the homeless rate going up?
I mean, so kind of what she's bringing up to.
I just I was looking at this morning. If we
look at what's going on in California with their they
pretty much are going broke as far as the.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
State, I feel like that California, Yeah, okay, I mean
you see.

Speaker 28 (42:43):
What you find about that.

Speaker 8 (42:44):
I looked it up this morning.

Speaker 28 (42:45):
I was looking at some different news claps this morning.
As far as I don't know, if it's because the
taxes are too high, people can't afford to live there anymore,
I don't know. It's just one of those things where
Hollywood and now what it used to be or people
went out there thinking they could chase their hopes and
dreams and they're getting crushed. It's more than just scared, Rod,
It's like the California's homeless rates are going up right now.

Speaker 25 (43:05):
Wow.

Speaker 28 (43:05):
Yeah, So just kind of pigging backing off what Maryland's
talking about. As far as ice Q, I mean, he's
a part of that, you know, Hollywood La California. Yeah,
you know, so I figured that kind of segues into
that too.

Speaker 9 (43:14):
It's a part of it.

Speaker 6 (43:18):
There.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
It looks like they're facing significant budget deficits. Yeah, estimates ranging.
I wouldn't say going broke, but they much like a
lot of states are, California being the biggest of them.
Let's see to seventy three billion shortfall, largely due to
a decline in state revenues, particularly personal income tax collections
from high income earners, stemming from a drop in the

(43:43):
stock market and changes in federal interest rates. While California
has experienced periods of strong revenue growth and budget surpluses
in the past, the deficit represents a substantial.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Challenge for the state.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
So, yeah, declining revenue, stock market impact jitary decisions.

Speaker 3 (44:01):
Yeah, So yeah, long term debt.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
In essence, while California remains a large and wealthy state,
it is currently grappling with a serious budget deficit that
requires careful management and potentially difficult decisions. So I don't
think that they're in a state of emergency, and I
don't think they're going broke, but I think they are
wrestling with a lot of other states are wrestling with
now and probably more to come once this big, beautiful

(44:29):
catastrophe starts to take hold.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
More and more and more so connected with the jobs
to the layoffs, yeah, all of it. Yeah, but I'm sure,
I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (44:41):
You know, each state has things that are you know,
unique to the state, just like Indiana, California, South Dakota, Georgia.
Every state has its has its challenges. But as you
were saying, maybe the entertainment industry can do a little
bit more to pay their fair share taxes and keep

(45:03):
the home. I don't know, I don't know. It's a
it's a lot, it's a lot. So but Maryland, thank you,
thank you for that, and uh, well yeah, I appreciate it.
And so the criticism is not new of ice Cube.
Criticism isn't new.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
It's not no, no, no, no, no, been going on
for a minute.

Speaker 28 (45:24):
Yeah, Jeff called back because you know, you couldn't get on,
but mentioned something about Tucker Carlson ice C. I guess
they had a conversation and he must have said some
controversial statements about his support for the Republican Party.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
I haven't seen it.

Speaker 28 (45:35):
My phone's updateing right now, but Jeff on me look
that up. So I don't know if you may have
seen the ice Cube Tucker Carlson interview conversation.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Who who who was criticizing who? Let me look it up?
Ice Cube and Tuck Tucker Carlson. Yeah yeah, ice Cube
Tucker Carlson. Mm hmm, yeah, Yeah. We have to be careful,
you know, saying, you know when we describes her. Ice
Cube participated in a controversial interview and right along with

(46:05):
Tucker Carlson in July on Carlson's Twitter based show, where
they discussed topics including Cube's refusal to get the COVID
nineteen vaccine and his frustration was being blacklisted by platforms
like OPRAH and the view for his independent thinking.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
Okay, yeah, so there it is. Yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten. In essence and in short,
I wouldn't say that California is going broke. I would
say that California is grappling with issues that most states have,
California just being one of the bigger ones, it probably
you know, comes to the forefront even more so.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
Yeah, well so we'll see. Uh, we'll keep an eye
on that as well.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
But their governor, the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, is
certainly make waves and is certainly doing his thing to
push back against the lunacy.

Speaker 6 (47:04):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
And he's showing lunacy for what it is.

Speaker 20 (47:08):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
And Republicans of the maga ies don't seem to like
that too well, they don't seem to find it humorous,
even though when Donald Trump does it, they love it.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
It's funny, but that's to be expected.

Speaker 6 (47:20):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven for eight zero thirteen ten.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
Mister Russell, go ahead, hey.

Speaker 29 (47:30):
You know.

Speaker 6 (47:32):
It's incredible what's going on. But you earlier it said
that people wonder what they were to start in terms
of trying to fight the craziness, and they have to
start with the basics. You know, back in the seventies

(47:54):
in Indianapolis, we had a situation where you and the
gun was just coming to the forefront, and uh, it
was quite a bit of consternation in the community about
how this was gonna affect the community in Indianapolis or
so some of us had to sit down and brainstorm.

(48:17):
And basically it resulted in doing things like not necessarily
relying on the parties, whether they be Democrat or Republican,
but the grassrooms people had to become go registrars, so
to speak, and they had to go door to door
to register people. They had to uh sit in front

(48:38):
of the supermarkets and register people.

Speaker 4 (48:42):
And thy th.

Speaker 6 (48:43):
Basically, that's's where it has to start in terms of
trying to do something constructive. And I nowadays that's kind
of rare in terms of people really getting involved to
that extent. But people have to to do the mechanics,
have to do the basic things to really make a change,
and I think that's where it starts. The other thing

(49:06):
I wanted to say, I think it was Jeff that
it mentioned, uh, Mussolini and Hitler. I know that's some
of his favorite things.

Speaker 30 (49:15):
But in.

Speaker 6 (49:18):
Interestingly enough, in uh in Italy, when Sellini was on
the fast. His favorite slogan was We've got to make
Italy great again. There from something similar to that. Also,
his party was called the Republican Fastest, Republican.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
Fascist, Republican.

Speaker 2 (49:47):
Fascist, f a C Fascist Okay, the Republican Fascist Okay, okay.

Speaker 6 (49:53):
Yeah, that's what That's what the party was, which is
kind of interesting in lighted with today. But I think,
uh one of the rappers named Ludicrous out of Atlanta,
George he should be really big time because people are

(50:13):
really living up to his name in the current administration.
And uh so he got a lot of play with
his name in terms of being on the forefront.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
I think, hm hmm, yeah, yeah, Oh go ahead, mister Russell.

Speaker 6 (50:32):
No that that was the main thing I wanted to say.
But uh also, we don't want to forget that. Next week,
Reverend Sharpton is sponsoring National Action Yes Network rally on

(50:52):
Market Wall Street in the Wall Street. Yes, that's where
I think the attendion has to be focused because while
some folks are concentrating on so called violent crime in
the major cities, there are others that are getting away
clean with white collar crime and ripping us off monetarily.

(51:19):
One of the things I'm fearful of is I know
probably a lot of people that are currently around today
don't remember the nineteen twenty nine stock market Christ, the
graining Christ in the country. It had a Republican president,
it had a Republican Congress, and so there philosophy tends

(51:42):
to be tripled down economics.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
But it's never ever, ever, ever, ever has worked that correct,
never seen an example because it's greedy.

Speaker 3 (51:55):
They're too greedy too.

Speaker 6 (51:57):
And this is which can really be careful well, and
so hold on til you have That's all I have
to say.

Speaker 3 (52:05):
Yeah, that's that's all we can do.

Speaker 2 (52:07):
But you know, I think mister Russell, you you make
a good point about, you know, Reverend Sharpton's approach, and
I think that that is a very important one. But
I think it's going to take a combination of all.
I think it's got to be multifaceted because so many areas.
Although the pocket book is a biggie, the pocket book

(52:27):
is you know, certainly certainly the biggie because that that
and political power kind of go hand in hand.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
The country bowels around exactly exactly. So he's on the
right You're right, he's on the right track.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
But in the meantime, I think we got to do
a bunch of other things while that's going on as well.

Speaker 6 (52:44):
And also you probably have heard about the demands of
the CEO target.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
Yes, we had that on yesterday. I was going to
mention that again today. They mentioned everything in the one
article that I had that I shared. They mentioned everything
but the boycott. But you know that boycott among African
Americans has to be somewhere in the equation. You know,
it's in there somewhere.

Speaker 3 (53:10):
Because sales have declined dramatically.

Speaker 6 (53:14):
And not only that, that's another way people can make
their protests only is because what we have a situation now,
not only cities around the country, when the cities are
trying to you know, there's a big thing now about

(53:35):
data so called data centers coming into an area and
what this is going to mean in terms of where
they locate, income wise, job wise, et center, etc. A
lot of times these outfits, and it's not just the

(53:56):
data centers, but businesses, I guess know they come into
a city area and they're given special breaks financially for
a certain period of time where they don't have to
pay jack property taxes. Yeah, and if it's a lot
of times what's happens. Sometimes these companies stay for that

(54:17):
period of time and then they pull up stakes absolutely leaving,
leaving the local people holding the bag. Yeah, and uh,
this is what you really have to be careful when
you talk about areas that are going bankrupt. It's a
reason they're going bankrupt.

Speaker 4 (54:34):
Are having financial problem.

Speaker 6 (54:36):
Yeah yeah, yeah, the money, the money is not getting
down to where it's supposed.

Speaker 31 (54:40):
To be.

Speaker 6 (54:42):
The people.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
Economics, sam work, and it's the little people that have
to carry the load as usual.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
So thank you, mister Russell. The music is playing.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
We got to go to the break, but thank you
for your thank you for your in but always appreciate it,
and we'll be back with more community connection right after this.

Started out with the reminder for you for everyone today
is Thursday, August twenty first, and the significance of that
for all of you who have been following closely the
rate hike request by the AEES Power Company as utility

(01:03:28):
is asking the Indiana Regulatory Indiana anyway, they're asking the
i u r C Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, asking for
another rate hike, and so there are a series of
public hearings where you can make your voices heard as
to how you feel about that request and whether or
not the i u r C should be granting that

(01:03:50):
rate rate hike request. Thursday eight twenty one, that's today
tonight at six o'clock.

Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Tonight at six.

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Pm, you can give your comments, thoughts and concerns in
person at the Southeast Community Services Center, nine O one
Shelby Street, nine on one Shelby Street. It is going
to be taking place on the second floor auditorium and
again it's going to start at six o'clock. If you
happen to miss you missed Monday and you can't make

(01:04:19):
it tonight, there are two more opportunities next week. Next
Monday eight twenty five, the New Augusta North Public Academy,
sixty four to fifty ROADBA Road in their auditorium there
at that school, public comment will be taken. Then that
starts at six o'clock as well, and then on Wednesday
of next week eight twenty seven, on the other side

(01:04:40):
of town, the Ford Event Center at Fort Harrison State
Park six zero zero two North Post Road at the
Blue Heron Ballroom. Again, all the hearings start at six
o'clock tonight. Tonight is at the Southeast Community Services Center
nine on one Shelby Street. Monday it's going to be
at New Augusta North Public Academy, and then Wednesday it's

(01:05:01):
going to be at the Fort Event Center at Fort
Harrison State Park. If you can't make any of those
that are coming up, including tonight, you still have an
opportunity to be heard because you can submit written comments
all the way up until.

Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
The second of September.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Now I know that that's not that much further away
than the twenty seventh of August, but you still have
some more time.

Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
You can do that. Now, you can do that any
and you can do both.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
I mean you can you can show up in public
and you'll show up and give your public comment, and
you can also submit your written comment. Written comments are
going to be taken through nine two through September second,
and you can find your online forms at I in
dot gov slash, o UCC slash contact dash us, i
n dot gov slash o u c c slash contact

(01:05:52):
dash us. And so I really would like to encourage
as many of you that can make it as possible
to get out there and let them know, let them
know how painful this is, let them know how stressful
this is, because all they're doing is looking at numbers,
and they're looking at money. They don't want to spend.
I hate to say it about a utility, but I'm
going to say it. They don't want to spend their money.

(01:06:13):
They want to spend yours. That's why the easiest thing
to do when they look like they're gonna come up, sure, oh,
let's just ask for a rate hike.

Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
They just got one, they just had one, and they.

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Need to know the pain and the inconvenience that these
constant money grabs are taking on their consumers. It's just
it's unreasonable. There was a story the other day they
were talking about what is it the utility cost of vegetation,
meaning that it costs them money if they have to

(01:06:44):
cut down trees or weeds or things around their equipment,
and that their equipment is old or whatever. Those are
all operating costs that should be in a budget anyway.
Raid hikes should be the last resort, not the first,
not the first. Now, if there's something more I need
to know, let me know. In the meantime, as long
as we have an opportunity to say something about it

(01:07:05):
and to do something about it, let's take advantage of it.
So again tonight Southeast Community Services Center, nine on one
Shelby Street, second floor, auditorium, and that meeting will start
at six p m.

Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
So there we have it. Painful stuff though.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
I just hate getting utility bills that don't make any sense,
and they just they're coming more and more and more.
And then when you hear the utility companies say, well,
where you're not paying enough, we need you to pay
more because if you pay more, we can give you
better equipment. If you pay more, we can afford to
cut down more trees and more vegetation.

Speaker 3 (01:07:41):
What do you do? What is your business model? What
does it look like? And anyway, so do better with
what you got?

Speaker 11 (01:07:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
I used to hear that all the time. Why can't
you do with what you got? And another thing we
talked about the first hour. As expected, Texas Republicans have
approved that congressional map to protect their party's majority in
the state of Texas. They've done some pretty crazy, pretty

(01:08:12):
crazy awful things. They passed a new state congressional map
that was drawn at the request of Donald Trump so
that he can get five more Democratic held US House
seats in next year's midterm elections. He's going to try
to turn them from Democrat to Republicans so he can
get the advantage wide open, in your face, cheating and corruption.

(01:08:35):
They won't even try to hide it anymore. They don't
try to disguise it anymore. Anyway, this after dozens of
Democratic lawmakers ended a two week walkout that had temporarily
blocked the passage of it. They made their statement, but
let's summarize it so you can figure it out and
we can have it all summarized again so that you

(01:08:56):
can be reminded of how it all came together. Let's
listen to the piece for ABC News.

Speaker 32 (01:09:04):
Overnight, the Texas House of Representatives approving controversial new voting maps.

Speaker 12 (01:09:10):
Eighty eight eys of fifty two A's House Bill four
AS finally passed.

Speaker 32 (01:09:13):
Lawmakers voting along party lines, with all eighty eight House
Republicans backing the bill. The new maps could be a
major boon for the party in next year's midterm elections.
President Trump, who has led the push for new maps,
posting overnight quote big win for the great state of Texas,
everything passed on our way to five more congressional seats
and saving your rights. After the defeat, Democrats were finally

(01:09:35):
allowed to leave the building without an escort. Dozens of
Democrats were assigned mandatory police escorts in response to a
week's long walkout that prevented the vote from happening sooner,
the Texas State Senate is expected to approve the new
maps today and the bill could be on the governor's
desk by the end of the week. But Democrats say
they're not done fighting.

Speaker 12 (01:09:54):
The next battlefield is the courts, and we will win there.

Speaker 32 (01:09:58):
Democrats allege the new maps were drawn based on race,
which is illegal, but Republicans say the move is purely
political and therefore legal. Meanwhile, leaders in other states are
vowing to fight fire with fire. Governor Kathy Hochel tweeting
game on in response to the news, Governor Gavin Newsom
posting it's on Texas. To counter Texas's move, He's vound

(01:10:19):
to push through a new California map, temporarily redrawing districts
for the next few elections in a bid to reclaim
five seats for Democrats. The California Legislature is expected to
vote on a redistricting plan today, with a new map
set to go before voters in a special election this November.

Speaker 35 (01:10:36):
The people of California, the legislature, the governor are really
just fighting back and saying enough is enough.

Speaker 32 (01:10:43):
Former President Obama applauding Newsom's efforts, saying his plan is
designed to address a very particular problem at a very
particular moment in time. Nicole Dee Antonio, ABC News Washington
Thanks to Nicole.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
For that yeah yeah, so again that quick summary of
just about everything. The statement from the one Texas lawmaker
Republican lawmaker, where he just basically said, we did this
so we could have the advantage. And it's getting you know,
this is also getting lost in the translation of all this.

(01:11:17):
You only do this every ten years. Why are you
doing it in the middle of a cycle, in the
middle of a census cycle. You're doing it so that
you can cheat and get the advantage. You know, you
redraw your maps after every census, and the census is
taken every ten years. So we just had a twenty
twenty census. We will have another one in twenty thirty.
This is twenty twenty five mid census. Trump's, you know,

(01:11:41):
a little bit worried that some of his priorities, particular bills,
the big beautiful Bill for one, cutting medicaid, taking food
away from kids, and things of that nature. He's a
little concerned that that's going to be unpopular. So he's
banking on the fact that if you know, the Magas
and the Republicans, if they continue to stick together, they

(01:12:02):
just need a lot more of them to make sure
that the Democrats and the people who are dissatisfied with
what he's doing, that they don't get a say so okay,
so that they don't have a say, and so his
fellow Republicans are like, Okay, we'll do that because we
want to keep control and we want to keep power,
So let's just go ahead and cheat. In full view.
As a footnote, Republican legislators have dominated Texas politics for

(01:12:26):
over two decades. So what does that mean for me
here in Indianapolis, Indiana and even for the entire state
of Indiana. Well, I'm going to refer again to an
article I think I told you about yesterday from The Star,
and the headline is Indiana's DC delegation pushes redistricting as

(01:12:48):
state lawmakers meet behind closed doors, and it goes on
to read one by one, Indiana's Republican US representatives are
coming out in support and support redistricting in Indiana. Weeks
after Vice President JD. Vance's visit to Indianapolis. Remember when
he told you about that. We're telling you j why

(01:13:08):
is Jdvans coming to Indianapolis and meeting with Governor Mike
bron It's to see how many Republican governors and Republican
states he can get on board and how many more
Republican seats he can ask for The pressure campaign on
x mounted at the same time that State House Republicans
met privately off state House grounds to discuss Donald Trump's

(01:13:29):
push to redraw maps mid decade. Now, the census, which todate,
has proven unpopular among the state lawmakers. Governor Mike Bron,
who has the power to call a special session to
redistrict told reporters on August eighteenth he is still undecided
and leaning on the will of the legislature. Bron says,

(01:13:51):
I'm not going to call them unless there's going to
be general agreement that we need to. Nor did the
House Republican Caucus make any decisions their two hour meeting.
We're still talking, Indiana House Speaker Tie Houston told the
Indiana Capitol Chronicle an hour before the House caucused, Marlon
Stutsman of the third you know, blah blah blah, it's

(01:14:13):
time to redraw.

Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
Okay. So there's some who are saying it's time to
do it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
There are others that are not so sure, and we're
just going to take an eye, you know, keep an
eye on that, because they're targeting democratic districts and.

Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Out in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
In Indiana, seven of the nine congressional districts are already Republican,
So that leaves Andre Carson here in Indianapolis and Frank
Moran up in northwest Indiana. So if they can make
up one hundred percent, that's two more our Republican seats
that Trump can get out of Indiana. So they're trying
to get as many as they can, trying to put

(01:14:47):
Andre Carson out of business. You you know, you say, well,
why are we talking about, you know, what's going on
in Texas, and because they've already been here asking for
the same thing. So if you don't want representation from
Andre Carson anymore here in the you know, Central Indiana
or you know, Frank Moran up in northwest Indiana, I

(01:15:11):
don't know what to tell you because the governor has
already been elected, and so whatever he says goes. These
state representatives have already been elected. They have a super
gop majority in the House, they have a majority in
the Senate. So the most we can do is to
pay attention and to try to change change the numbers.

(01:15:36):
Get out and vote and change the numbers. That's the
best we can do. And already they've already drawn the
maps to their advantage.

Speaker 12 (01:15:45):
They did that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
I don't know if they were sued or not in
twenty twenty, but they were just absolutely blatantly, over blatantly
partisan in twenty twenty. So I don't know how much
more blatant they can get when they redraw er if
they decide to call a special session. Anyway, I'm just
letting you know, if you hear this here on this show,
this is why it is because we always ask could

(01:16:09):
it happen here? And the actual answer is absolutely positively,
it could happen here. Now, Abdul was here and he
was saying that it couldn't because of the state constitution
and something had to happen or whatever. He was just saying,
it would be really, really difficult, And he was also
saying that's probably why Braun is dragging his feet, because Braun.

Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
Knows the difficulties.

Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
So I'm gonna I'm going to stand on that with
what Abdul said, because he's got a whole lot more
insight than I do. We'll just see, But he was
very Abdul was very skeptical of the fact that it
could happen here, or that it would happen here.

Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
He was extremely skeptical of that. We'll just pin that
and we'll see. So there we go.

Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
Some other things taking place, and again the line the
phone lines opened three one seven for eight zero thirteen
ten three one seven for eight zero thirteen ten. In
the coming days and weeks, you've got to be hearing
a lot more about the upcoming Fall Classic, the Circle
City Classic, the forty first annual Circle City Classic football
game that has been a tradition here.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
In the city of Indianapolis for forty one years.

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
It's a it's a great time founded by the late
Reverend Charles Williams to bring the black college football experience
to the Midwest. Because before Reverend Williams brought these teams
in this tradition to the city of Indianapolis, a large
number of people black and white had never seen it,

(01:17:42):
never heard of it, and it never had a chance
to even enjoy it. So it's been around, and it
was a wonderful idea brilliant idea, and the fact that
it has staying power is the fact that this is
the forty first annual.

Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
So the Circle City Classic is coming.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
The football game against two HBCUs historically black colleges and universities.

Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
This year is going to be Miles College.

Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
The Miles College Golden Bears versus the Morgan State University Bears.
The game this year is going to be on the
twenty seventh of September. The twenty seventh of September, there is,
as they say, a special. You know, there's always specials
around the Circle City Classic Football game, so you got

(01:18:29):
to listen for those. But there's an August special where
you can buy one ticket and get one free. Now
this is on the twenty dollar tickets. I don't know
about the other price tickets or what have you, but
if you buy one twenty dollars ticket, you get a
twenty dollars ticket free. So that means basically you're getting
tickets to the game for ten bucks apiece. Great deal,

(01:18:50):
Always a good time, great man's, great crowd. It's kind
of like a mini family reunion a lot of folks
that go to the Circle City Classic. So there is that,
and that's coming up September Saturday, September twenty seventh, but
August is about to run out. Just wanted to let
you all know about the August ticket special. All you
have to do is buy one twenty dollars ticket and

(01:19:11):
you get another twenty dollars ticket free.

Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
So that's just yea.

Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
Anyway, two dollars, two dollars to two dollars two twenty
dollars tickets for ten dollars each.

Speaker 3 (01:19:25):
That's how it breaks down. I told you I wasn't
good at math.

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
But anyway, that's the August Special, and August is going
to be over pretty soon, so we'll get out there
and get your tickets for the upcoming forty first annual
Circle City Classic football game between Miles College Golden Bears
and Morgan State University Bears. Three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten. Three one seven, four eight zero thirteen
ten is the number to the show a couple of

(01:19:49):
other things. The boom I'm trying to think was it.
I think it had to be last year. Last year
we had a really robust discussion, and it was regarding
Louisiana's newly passed law that required the display of the

(01:20:14):
Ten Commandments in public schools, and so recently, recently a
judge has blocked a Texas law requiring that the Ten
Commandments be displayed in public schools. We're going to get
to that in just a moment. A little bit more
on that and take your calls and comments on that.

Speaker 23 (01:20:38):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
Now, let's go back to the phone lines three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one seven four
eight zero thirteen ten George, go ahead, how are you, George?

Speaker 3 (01:20:48):
Are you there? I'm doing good today?

Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (01:20:51):
Yes? I can, how are you pretty good?

Speaker 4 (01:20:53):
All right? I wanted to make a comment.

Speaker 37 (01:20:55):
I think it was Joe Joe that made the comment
about the palagapolut this.

Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah in Texas, Texas, Texas specifically.

Speaker 37 (01:21:06):
Yeah, yeah, I agree with both y'all to a point.
But but you when he was saying that they just
takes up thingy gets the wall, see would stick, they're coming.
I do believe that true, that they throw stuff against
the wall to see what sticks. But from my point
of view, if there's no one things gets the wall,

(01:21:27):
they've already thought.

Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
About it, absolutely absolutely. Yeah, let's see they've got a list.

Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
They've got a list.

Speaker 37 (01:21:34):
Yes, yes, So if you if the college student the
state majority black out of the Texas George, you know
you you white side leaves, they're going to find a
way to mess with their in c W a college
eligibility place.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
Well, it was it was just a theoretical I mean,
I understood what he said. I understood what he meant.
But yeah, they they they would, they would they try
to find a but you know, maybe you would. The
attack would be, you can take that money, but we're
you know, you're not gonna make our money. They have
to play ball games.

Speaker 7 (01:22:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:22:10):
True, And that's what I say.

Speaker 37 (01:22:11):
I think it's theoretical everything that we think that, Like
people thought that the uh the project, that the big
project they had that they wrote down and uh, it
was theoretical. But the theoretical stuff became reality.

Speaker 10 (01:22:25):
Yeah, absolutely, it became reality.

Speaker 37 (01:22:27):
So I think that they already thought about that. And
my other thing, tom, I is all this money that
their Trump is putting down on these different on different
nations to put care of something for bringing in the
money bringing for bringing products into the United States, where's
that money going to? Because we're not getting at tax
you know, consumers aren't getting a breaking taxes on products

(01:22:50):
or anything.

Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
How can they get a break when they're paying it.
The consumers are paying.

Speaker 4 (01:22:55):
The consumers are praying paying. That's true. Yeah, I'll think
where does that money go to?

Speaker 37 (01:23:01):
Is the going to the ultra rich? Because I noticed
something that I was watching on social media which I heard,
which I know, push this kind of truth that the
United States is preparing for war, and the theory is
that they are. They already have super cities built a

(01:23:21):
few miles underneath.

Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
The Yeah, I have heard that.

Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
I've been here. Yeah, I've been hearing that.

Speaker 29 (01:23:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 37 (01:23:27):
And the supertrain already exists that they go from like
New York to la in less than maybe an hour
or hour too.

Speaker 4 (01:23:35):
And these super cities are built for the ultra rich.

Speaker 37 (01:23:40):
Not that you can have twenty five thirty million dollars
in the bank account here, it's significantly wealthy where you
would have generation of wealth and have power heads on
some feint to go on those people that they're trying
to bring it on superstiti. You gotta realize their children,
they bring them down there, and so their children it's
the five of nuclear war.

Speaker 4 (01:23:59):
Whatever of what we have. But those children are those
kids are those people.

Speaker 37 (01:24:03):
They're not innovators and scientists are going to make things
that you know has any significant kick packed.

Speaker 4 (01:24:10):
On the United States or on the on the economy.

Speaker 37 (01:24:13):
So if we go to war, let's say mister Green
moves down to a superstity with his family. His children
are protected, but the people who find the needs of
the things that we need in life as as in humanity. Five,
they're not the rich. The rich people are the ones
who take from society and make money out of it.

(01:24:36):
The inventors are the people who sit back and say, hey,
you know what, I'm found a new way to new
ways to innovate the can opener or let me create
the channel, both about the ultra culture and cultural wealth. Uh,
that's why I wanted to, you know, get that comment
about it. Where does the wh does all that money
go to?

Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
You're right, they take it from the consultants, you get
taxed on them. But where does the money go to?

Speaker 37 (01:24:59):
Ye that they're going down into the top, to the
pockets of the wealthy or in my case, and I
heard one person say, it.

Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
Goes to the wealthy.

Speaker 37 (01:25:06):
It goes to the military industrial complex. And it also
goes to over the Israel. And I hate to keep
on bringing Israel up, but yeah, they benefit a heck
of a lot off the United States tax Office. They're
a heck of a lot. And then and then there's
no reason needs. I don't understand why the US is
even backing them because the only thing I could think
of they have a strategic advantage over in the Middle East,

(01:25:29):
But why are you still dealing with Israel when there's
so many other countries you could build up and help
and have a different strategic advantage over. There's plenty of
the more.

Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
I think that's what I keep saying. More so than Israel,
it's Netan Yahoo and his corrupt regime.

Speaker 37 (01:25:45):
Yeah that you know, Russia doesn't like it. The Russians
don't like it.

Speaker 4 (01:25:48):
You don't like me, So you know, they say that
any real interview enemy is our bringing. I think I
hate to say that.

Speaker 37 (01:25:55):
I think more than black folks should be looking at
what really goes on behind the speeding out while we're
being told that Russia and China is the enemy, then
maybe there should be more about someone. Not that we
want to be part of a socialist or or communist society,
but maybe some of the Americas that we received are
not one hundred percent true, especially if you ask some

(01:26:17):
of the black soldiers have been fought in Vietnam, World
War two, Korean War, asked him how they were treated
when they went overseas compared to how they was treated
right here in our own nation in America.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
Yeah, by the way Georgia payment in the United States,
tariff revenue collected from imported goods goes to the US
Department of the Treasury, collections in border protection, all of
that goes.

Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
Yeah, they deposited into the general Fund.

Speaker 6 (01:26:48):
Yeah, Okay, well yeah, so we know because you know
Trump is still making money while he's din and president.

Speaker 37 (01:26:57):
Yes, and a lot of presidents they divested from their
businesses order, so it wouldn't be any image all week
would think they're the conflict of interests daily gone by
the way, and Jim, I'm gonna say one, weren't they
gonna get off here? Then he wants to go off
and say you get all these different states to you know,
do what you want to do so you can go

(01:27:17):
out half the TROMP Majorlitady controlled. Then you come in
to say, well I want to be president for a
third term. Okay, if Obama is getting back into the fight.
Let's say if Obama says, ok can we get back
into the ring? Is that what you really want, Donald Trump?
Unless you're going to rig the election again, make the
votes come out that whether.

Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Doors, Oh, it would never it would never be on
a level playing field. Obama would not be able. They
would rig it to where only Trump could could run
and only Trump could win.

Speaker 37 (01:27:48):
That's what that's And that then when we talked about
that a lot after the election with about well, did
remember he said, well, they rigged the election for me.
It's something to that, to paraphrases, so I can win.
I'm thinking, yeah, of course you break the election to
make it look like you overwhelmingly Row won the election
over Obama, which I know in a fair election he
wouldn't have a chance to get Obama.

Speaker 2 (01:28:08):
No, no, he wouldn't. But you know what, he might
stage such a showdown. I can just see him staging
such a showdown, but to say that he's better than
Barack Obama because Barama runs.

Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
Obama runs around in his head rent free anyway every day.

Speaker 9 (01:28:24):
So but yeah, you know, there it is.

Speaker 37 (01:28:28):
I'm gonna ask you the other backs that do you
think that the judges let the American people down? Not
not just including the vote, A lot of people who
didn't vote. You know, I voted, I may said, Okay,
I could have voted for Tama, but I voted straight
Democratic chicken on the local elections during this last term.
So I will admit my my vote. I didn't vote

(01:28:48):
for the president, but I did vote for off because
I had a belief that all politics to meet still
starts at the bottom. Who you vote, let me locally
impacts what goes on in the states.

Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
So who you How do you explain?

Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
Who?

Speaker 3 (01:29:02):
Did you say?

Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
You didn't vote for Kamala but you didn't vote for Trump.

Speaker 4 (01:29:06):
No, I didn't vote for Trump. I just voted off
the young Indian.

Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
You didn't vote at all in presidential.

Speaker 4 (01:29:12):
And the press, I just well, I voted.

Speaker 37 (01:29:14):
It was a president in the last section, but I
just voted for local politics, like you know, Andre Carson,
at all those guys, whoever was on the Democratic tickets,
I just put out the Democrats and I didn't chick
off Kamala.

Speaker 4 (01:29:28):
It wasn't that I really cared for you. I didn't
care either. What about I really didn't care for Trump?
But I don't know, I just.

Speaker 37 (01:29:36):
Wasn't just I wish she had I don't know if
it was just something about her that I wanted to
vote for her. But I should have went on and
did it. But I've always had this belief that who
we put in the office at the state leftl at
the local level really makes a difference for the state,
and that one.

Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
I would admit it. Hey, I made I made a mistake.

Speaker 37 (01:29:54):
I should have went on and checked the pot straight
Democrats instead of just going you know, the tooth not
a local Democrat. But saying that, do you think that
the judges when he Trump was going to court, that
they kind of let him down, that the system down
by not going forward with those trials and just saying, okay,
we'll just postpone that have to the election and see

(01:30:15):
what happens.

Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
Like in Atlanta. They you know, they took.

Speaker 37 (01:30:18):
A bug shot and he got to continue on the
trial about well, brother politic, Well, I remember Jesse Jacksons
jord Remember he was he went to prison, The governor
of Illinois went to prison when he was giving it,
putting that, yeah, well, do you think that the judges

(01:30:39):
should have did their job but said, hey, you know,
you've got a million dollars lawyers here?

Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Are you talking about the Supreme Which judges?

Speaker 3 (01:30:45):
Are you talking about the Supreme Court?

Speaker 36 (01:30:48):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:30:48):
No, no, Like you remember he went down to Atlanta
for that election prog.

Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
Yeah, yeah, okay, they really had no because of the
Supreme Court.

Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
They had no choice.

Speaker 37 (01:30:58):
Okay, because I was what I thought that he got
a change was on that until actually the election, and
once he's made president again, they can pick it back up.

Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
I'm not quite sure which one you're talking about, but
it's fun, you know. In terms of did the judges,
let I think the Supreme Court has, I'd have to
look at the the other ones. I mean they do.

Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
I don't know, George, they just because I know that
was he had.

Speaker 37 (01:31:21):
Cases in New York with the Yes which back fraud,
and then the court that the problem down in Pultland
County in Georgia when he was asking that governor down
there to find me what so many votes and election
interference in tamper and right, and they were going he
went to court for that, and they took his monk
shot and he came down there with their big entourage
like he was come into America or something like that,

(01:31:43):
going to the court to take his money.

Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
Talking about the case of Willis show No, when.

Speaker 37 (01:31:48):
When when Trump was he had to go to court
down there for that, remember they took That's where he took.

Speaker 4 (01:31:52):
His mok shot.

Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
Yeah, that was. Wasn't that the case that Fannie Wills
was prosecuting.

Speaker 4 (01:31:57):
Yes, she was, Yes, she was.

Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
She had yeah, she she had his bugshot taken.

Speaker 4 (01:32:02):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 37 (01:32:04):
The judge could have could they just went on a
stead of trial date saying we're gonna wait till after
the elections to go forward.

Speaker 4 (01:32:11):
We're not going to that's what part. Do you think
they judge it? A little bit?

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
Not all, A little bit probably, I guess give given
the parameters with which they have to work and the
probabilities and everything else, I think I think, honestly they
had no choice.

Speaker 37 (01:32:29):
Okay, because I was they should have went on the
guy and got the case started and let's go with it.
You know, you've got high higher.

Speaker 4 (01:32:36):
And just roll with it.

Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
Okay, all right, thanks George, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:42):
We're gonna take a real quick break right here, and
then when we come back, we're gonna go to the

you'll be right right up. We'll get get right.

to the week? Seems like we just started on Monday.
I think because sometimes when you have a short weekend
short meaning just boom boom when you're running, it seems
like the week. I don't know what.

Speaker 4 (01:39:54):
It seems like all to days start to melt together.

Speaker 3 (01:39:57):
Yeah they do, don't they, They really really do.

Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
All righty, let's go back to the phone lines three
one seven for eight zero thirteen ten three one seven
for eight zero thirteen ten Former counselor Oliver.

Speaker 3 (01:40:09):
How are you.

Speaker 10 (01:40:11):
I'm glad, thank you so much to have let me
do it in here.

Speaker 3 (01:40:14):
Okay, well, thank you for calling.

Speaker 10 (01:40:16):
Listen that it got my attention about one of the
callers could make a decision between Kennedy Harrison and for president.

Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
That was that's okay, you know that's something we need
to know about. Yeah, we need to know that.

Speaker 4 (01:40:32):
I'm moving forward.

Speaker 10 (01:40:33):
I'm not going to debate him, no, no, but there
is a wonderful thing taking place just coming to to
the twenty six Congressman Carson. He's not waiting until Labor
Day of twenty twenty six. He's starting Tuesday knocking on doors.
And I and many others would be one of those persons.

Speaker 3 (01:40:56):
So what what do you mean he's out with? Oh,
Labor Day is when the camp ut. Yeah, that's what
the unofficial traditional. Yeah, this is a.

Speaker 10 (01:41:10):
Whole year earlier. I mean, this is something in my
lifetime that has never happened at this level to where
because of uh, the other side from the brand and
others and true to the Nastal administration, person outlied of
certain districts, certain states that they want to that are

(01:41:30):
red that they want to redo. The map Indiana was
mentioned several times yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
But you know they're they're they're not even counselor or
they're not even trying to hide it or cover it up.
They're just basically saying Donald Trump wants more, you know,
he wants more congressional seats, so we're going to give
him to him.

Speaker 3 (01:41:49):
They're saying it out loud.

Speaker 10 (01:41:52):
To the I didn't just not say anything that you
do out of talk, because you can hit the right
on point. You expected better different that all of the
limited it. It reminds me of the pieces that I've
read about the proclamation that was passed from eighteen sixty
five that after that proclamation was passed, the reaction and

(01:42:12):
the words they were using are the same thing that
they're saying today, Governor Brown, President Trump. I mean, they're
saying the same just half the country. When the proclamation
was signed, half the country men the South, the Old South,
wanted some concessions made that they could be okay by

(01:42:37):
succeed from our government our country, and proclamation was entered.
The South were defeated, and that they wanted to come
back in in the back door and not perfectly saying
things the same things that President Trump and Governor Brown

(01:42:58):
and other includings Texas, and many of them are coming
out taking us back through what we went through where
our fore plants, least mine did in the eighteen sixties
after slavery had ended, and we supposedly American citizens wo
protection under the Constitution. And just yesterday I seen, well

(01:43:22):
last week there was some a group of folks marching
through areas with Nazis uniforms on. And the kind of
language of coming out of the Nazi administration is supporting
that kind of activity. And many of us are going
to resort to what we can do, and that is

(01:43:44):
make persons aware and what Ovent Carson is attempted to
do way early off to twenty six at the m
MLK Center at five point thirty, and we're going to
start knocking on doors, make people aware of what's going on,
and of course promote this candidacy and thank you so

(01:44:05):
much to take them.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
So wait, wait, so wait, wait wait a minute, hold on,
hold on, hold on, because outlining and initiative is great,
but what if somebody wants to help out or wants
to become a part of it, what can they do?

Speaker 3 (01:44:18):
How can folks get involved in this because this huh.

Speaker 10 (01:44:20):
He posted that and they set that out with the
regular voters that volunteers come on the twenty six, the
MLK sat at five thirty and we're gonna knock on
doors at talking about I be Carton and other issues.

Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
Is there a website? There is there a website or
something that people can because I mean you said he
sent it out to regular voters. I mean I don't.
I'm just saying I know I would get calls with
what how can I help or what can I do?

Speaker 16 (01:44:50):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:44:51):
For Andre Carson, he's going to start knocking on doors.
How often is he going to do this?

Speaker 10 (01:44:55):
Or is this the start?

Speaker 3 (01:44:56):
I mean, how's this going to work?

Speaker 9 (01:44:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 10 (01:45:00):
I've got a message asking me to volunteer. What I
be available to volunteer on the twenty six or five
thirty if sold us where we're gonna need it and
in a case Senna to do that. And I'm just
passing that on what was said to me, and I'm
sure it was sent to others and many of your
listeners I'm sure be glad to know that. But they

(01:45:21):
can make it or not, at least of all it's
out there now that we're starting not waiting to react
to what the state is gonna.

Speaker 9 (01:45:29):
Do or not do.

Speaker 10 (01:45:31):
Smiling, Oh no, no, no, no, no, it's oh uh,
we're gonna what to Carmella? I know, Cammella. I'm sorry.
Pand Obama's wife said, are we gonna raise the bar
to fight? No, we may have to get into trenches
and fight back.

Speaker 20 (01:45:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
Yeah, a lot of people are calling that. They're recalling
that when they go low, we go high.

Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
A lot of folks are recalling that mindset and saying, no, no,
there's certain times when you gotta you know, you got
to get right with.

Speaker 10 (01:45:58):
Them regard there you go and call a spade of stage. Yeah,
they're taking it back. They're taking it back to the
eighteen sixty eighteen sixty five? What is your eighteen sixty five?

Speaker 4 (01:46:10):
That is what this is.

Speaker 10 (01:46:12):
They use a nice English language. Oh, we're gonna redistrict
the math. We're gonna what they're gonna do that thing
that that was that they put out on twenty twenty five,
the document, it's all in there if you look up, well,
the species that were Andrew Jackson and many others at
that time in the eighteen sixty and eighteen seventy. What
they were saying is what they're saying today. Yeah, in

(01:46:35):
a real nice, sober type of language.

Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (01:46:39):
The voting rights I uh d I you know? Oh yes,
take rewrite history books, you know?

Speaker 4 (01:46:46):
Rea what?

Speaker 10 (01:46:47):
Uh No, don't mention slavery. No, no, no, don't mention that.
You know, the four girls that was killed in in
their church. Oh oh in in in w in Atlanta.
Oh no, don't mention that that they're called. Oh no,
don't mention that. Don't miss it. That's history. Oh no, dude,
don't do that. We're not like that. Four the young

(01:47:08):
girls were killed in that church in a bombing. Yeah,
Mergah Evers was shot on his front porch or in
his front yard. Why because he was secretary of the
na CP voting rights thing and they trying to get going,
people renting the boat. And I have to go on
and on of our person?

Speaker 24 (01:47:31):
What is your?

Speaker 4 (01:47:32):
What is your? Do you?

Speaker 3 (01:47:34):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (01:47:35):
Do you think Bron's gonna call a special session and
give give Trump at least one or two, maybe two
more seats to you? What do you think?

Speaker 10 (01:47:42):
I'm thankful that we're gonna proceed as if he is.
If he does not, we're still gonna proceed to take
the message that you and many others have been expressing
about what is going on. There's no celebration that the
state does primes decide not to call a special session,

(01:48:03):
that there won't be a celebration, not by me people
that I know. Oh, we're gonna celebrate. We're not doing that. No,
he just tactfully.

Speaker 8 (01:48:11):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:48:12):
I don't know what he's gonna do.

Speaker 10 (01:48:13):
I can't wait. Like you said, when they go low,
we high, we they well, we're gonna go high. No no, no, no,
they're gonna low and the concert and others. We start
in our campaign now for his re election.

Speaker 3 (01:48:29):
Yeah, hopefully his map isn't reader.

Speaker 41 (01:48:33):
I don't and you know the other the way, and
speaking about the election, we be able to bring out
things that he is advocating that should not happen and
a reaction to things that should happen.

Speaker 10 (01:48:46):
That message is getting out early. We want to get
that out early at the grass group level on what
is going on. Some of us they used to call
a sleepy town, naptown town, nothing a little bit and
waiting for other signs. And the signs are there some

(01:49:06):
of us see the sign the signal descended the language
that they're using, you know, the the immigrants and all that.
I mean, like, what is what is going on?

Speaker 5 (01:49:17):
You know what?

Speaker 10 (01:49:18):
You know, the precausers weren't weren't masked over their face,
so you can't what is so when you see them
in church wherever you may see them at they smiling, talking,
then they put this mask on them and put the
clan you see, right, they weren't masked. They didn't want
to many know who they were.

Speaker 3 (01:49:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:49:35):
True, they pretend to be your friends, and but they
put a mask on the Bible for that churching in
Georgia and other places. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (01:49:44):
It's a hot mess out there, council. Uh, but we
got it, like you said, we got to stay on
top of it. So then you're twenty six so much,
so much the twenty sixth of.

Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
August at the mL Where now where again? Hello? Yes,
at the MLK Center.

Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
That's what I thought you said. Twenty sixth of August,
Emilk Center, five thirty Yes, small ol kid oki, we
got it. Okay, thank you, all right, thank you indeed. Yeah,
And that's uh, that's what's going to take that's what
is going to take MLK Center, five thirty August twenty
sixth Yep, there we go, So here we go. Boots

(01:50:28):
on the ground already. Uh yeah, Counselor Oliver and others.
I'm sure that's the first of several initiatives that we're
going to see coming up in this fight against authoritarianism,
slash fastism, or.

Speaker 3 (01:50:42):
Whatever you want to call it. It's getting real out there.
So guess what. We're gonna let you know, whatever's out
there to try to counter it, We're going to do
our very best to help.

Speaker 2 (01:50:55):
That's all the time we have for right now. Little
more Junior on the radio is up next. We'll be

Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
