Speaker 1 (00:00):
WTOCAM W two three six c are Indianapolis, discussing the
issues that matter to you and keeping you informed with
what's happening in and around Indy. It's Community Connection with
Tina Cosby, brought to you by Child Advocates, a champion
for justice, opportunity and well being for children. On Praise
(00:21):
AM thirteen ten ninety five point one FM.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
And good afternoon, and welcome to Community Connection. I'm Tina Cosby.
Today is Wednesday, August the sixth three one seven four
eight zero thirteen ten. Three one seven four eight zero
thirteen ten is the number two Community Connection and on
the show today, going to play a little bit of catchup.
A lot of things have been taking place and going
(00:47):
on and we haven't necessarily stopped and had a discussion better,
so hopefully we can we can get to some of
that today. The phone lines are open three one seven
four eight zero thirteen ten. Three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten. Yesterday we had a number of calls
about the stricter entry policy for miners at the Indiana
(01:10):
Stricter entry slash admission policy for myers at miners at
the Indiana State Fair Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Meers was
with us to discuss two community events going on today
sponsored by the Prosecutor's office. One, the Family Support and
Resource Fair, just ended moments ago. It ended at one o'clock.
(01:31):
The other though a backpack giveaway with Pastor Wayne Moore
and the Alavet Missionary Baptist Church, which is coming up
tonight from five to six thirty tonight from five to
six thirty. Prosecutor Mirrors said that the backpacks would be
full of everything that a student would need for the
upcoming school year, including the backpack. So he said, it's
(01:54):
not just a backpack, their backpacks full of school supplies.
Prosecutor Merors also discussed current events, shared his thoughts on
gun violence, and a whole lot more gun safety, gun violence,
you name it. He also, you know, talked about what
(02:15):
we have heard the Governor Mike Brown hint at in
terms of possible legislation that allows the governor to remove
non compliant prosecutors throughout the state of Indiana. So that
and some other things regarding what the governor has said
pertaining to the mayor and the prosecutor being blamed for
(02:39):
the violence in the city and not controlling it not
having it under control. Prosecutor Mair said, the governor hasn't
said a word to him about any of it, and
so he would be happy to talk to him about
the root causes, which Prosecutor Mars believes is the easy
access to guns and the states permitless carry law which
(03:02):
went into effect about three years ago, which Prosecutor Mayors says,
you can draw a direct line, a direct line from
the passage of that legislation to the uptick, the disturbing
uptick in gun violence here in Indianapolis, Marion County, and
throughout the state. Actually, although his lane is Marion County,
(03:25):
in the city of Indianapolis, but you can just tell
prosecutors throughout the state are probably all seeing the same thing.
One particular area that Prosecutor Mayors shared with us that
was really disturbing, and that was the area that's related
to the passage of the permitless carry That was the
area of accidental deaths involving children, he said, as recently
(03:50):
as just a few years ago. I mean that it
almost never happened, and it was very very rare, maybe
one a year, he said. Now in the gun shot
deaths involving children, it's more, that's more than half. Accidental
deaths went from zero to one to that's almost half
of the numbers. So and again he feels as if
(04:13):
it's a direct result. Well, he said, the data is
still being tallied. But it's clear that permitless carry people
are happy to be able to have guns. They think
they can do whatever they want to do with them,
and they're being very careless, which is why more children
are dying from accidental gunshots. So there's a lot there.
And I don't see our legislature just yet making any
(04:39):
plans to modify, amend or repeal that very dangerous piece
of legislation that they passed about three years ago. But
you know, we'll see. But anyway, so we talked about that.
A lot of you called, and I mean the calls
were really robust. We were trying to get to as
many as we could before we ran the time. We
(05:00):
simply could not. So if there was a point you
wanted to make yesterday, please feel free. The phone lines
are open and we have a little time to talk
about that today if you would like. Three, one, seven, four, eight, zero,
thirteen ten phone lines are open. Another reminder to all
of you more and more youngsters throughout Central Indiana are
(05:23):
returning to school with each passing day. Every day there's
a new school system that has opened. I know it
started this week on Monday with IPS, the state's largest
school system reopened for the twenty twenty five twenty twenty
six academic school year. And again several other neighboring school
systems are heading back. Not to mention the fact that
(05:45):
some of them have been back in you know, a
little bit more than a week, so it seems like
that first day back is getting earlier and earlier every year.
I asked the who there was an educator here, Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I was with the US in School of the Arts,
School for the Arts. If by these early starting dates
(06:05):
that it's the same number of state mandated instructional days
or have we added more days to keep our kids
in school longer? And she said no, it's basically the
same number of state mandated instructional days per school in
school system. It's just that they're broken up differently, and
broken up I guess, meaning breaks and vacations and different
(06:27):
things like that. They just cut the calendar a little differently,
and as a result of recutting that calendar. Yeah, kids
are getting in school early. So there we go with that.
Your youngsters are back, your boys are back in school.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Camera Yeah, Warren Township went back July twenty fourth.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
All that hurts my feelings, Well, you know, because the
parents don't get a chance to enjoy summer vacation. I
know that that may sense.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
In this day and age, the way we have to
work with this economy as sooner they go back.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
To better Okay, okay, okay, okay for everybody, But on
my behalf, I was happy so they couldn't go back
soon enough for you?
Speaker 2 (07:07):
No, okay, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
It makes my work scheduled lot as you're knowing where
they're at and what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah, I'm just talking about the work that you have
to do. You have to get them back on schedule.
You got to get them to bed, you got to
get them up.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
I was ready for that.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Got to make sure that their their homework is done.
Look at her, because when they go back to school,
you go back to school.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Depending on which you're right about that, I agree with
the parents having to get back into it.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
No, ro mean, that's just what we do as parents.
I'm just saying, you need a little bit longer.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
But certain school systems they make them.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
They got the class works set U where they don't
really have homework nearly as much as they did when
we were when we were coming up, they do a
lot of.
Speaker 6 (07:39):
Homework at school.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Oh really, they don't.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Bring much home, at least not in Warren Township. They
don't bring much homework home. It's more they do everything
in class. Hmmm, yeah, I believe or not, no homework
home hardly.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Any Yeah, so there's not a whole lot you have
to help them with well when they.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
Unless you're just hands on.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
But no, not mandatory, no, at least not in Warring Township.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
They do a lot of homework at school.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Wow, that's good. And they do a lot of it
by notebooks, the tablets and things of that nature.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Whether it be a writing assignment or do they have
papers still too. I mean they've gone fully digital, but
the teachers are their hands on with them and they
do everything really in class.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah. Wow, that's it's different, you know, I know it's different.
It is it is, And the other thing that's different.
We all want to be mindful that because our kiddos
are going back more and more each day. Please be careful,
be mindful and respectful of the buses, school zones. Kids
standing on corners waiting on buses. I saw in my
(08:43):
neighborhood and I want to report it to the neighborhood association.
There were some kids standing out on the corner and
there were you know, these were younger I won't say teenagers, whatever.
They're just flying through the subdivision and into the culture.
It just there was no reason for that. There's no
reason to go. This limit, of course, was not even twenty,
but I ventured to guess they might have been going
(09:04):
forty or fifty, maybe sixty, I don't know, but it
was and you know, blowing through stop signs and things
of that nature that you don't you shouldn't do that
at any point in time, but especially now that the
kids are back out standing on corners, uh, waiting you know,
for the buses. And I also saw not this week,
but last week some of the kids that went back
to school early. I don't know where, what school system,
(09:27):
but anyway, the buses were out, and the buses had
their arms out, you know how you're supposed to right,
you know, all four lanes or uh uh. People were
kept going going going, yeah, going around it. I've seen
people not stopping ambulances come and you know, there was
a car in front of me not too long ago,
and you know, an ambulance was coming, and so I
(09:47):
pulled over and stopped. That car kept going and then
was you know right, they pulled in and could you
know there were other cars that had that car backed
up so it couldn't really go anywhere the ambulance was coming,
and then started driving as fast as he ammbulance was
got behind the end. People are crazy, just just absolutely crazy.
Got to start thinking about that. And I used to
tell mine when they were learning to drive, you know
(10:09):
what if you had an emergency and you needed to
get to the hospital right away, would you want people still,
you know, standing in your way while the ambulance is
trying to get there as fast as they can. No
get out of the way. You're trying to help somebody.
You know, you're trying to help somebody get help. So yeah,
they so, you know, that was one of the few
(10:30):
lessons I think that I was able to get ingrained
in there when they were first learning to drive. But
people are just I don't understand where are you going
and why is it so important to maneuver around a
bus where little kids, you know, not even stop, not
even stop you see the arm and just keep going.
(10:50):
Or an ambulance it has somebody critically ill that obviously
they need to be in a hospital in a hurry,
or they wouldn't be an ambulance. What what in the
world are you? I don't know, I don't know. Folks
and folks. Everybody's got somewhere to go. I guess, I
guess so uh three one seven four eight zero thirteen
(11:11):
ten three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten also today,
probably the rest of this week. Oh, baby Face, that's
fair tonight, isn't he in baby Face Free concert stage? Babyface,
Indiana's own baby Face. I saw on social media that
he was a barbecue barbecue getting out Jones. Yeah, mister
(11:35):
Jones getting him a bag of queue, wasn't he? He's
good The baby Face knows Indian happenhborhood.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
Yeah, neighborhood.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Yeah, I'm surprised he wasn't at the kitchen, but he'll
probably make his way over there too. Yeah. Two good
stopping grounds for folks that lived here. But yeah, you
know what you know, So we're going to give away
today tickets to the Indiana State Fair and tickets to
the Gospel Music Festival at the State Fair coming up
(12:03):
on August seventeenth. That's a Sunday afternoon, a Sunday afternoon show,
and it is fantastic. The headliner, of course, is going
to be none other than the great Marvin Sap. So
the tickets that we're giving away just aren't tickets therefore
reserved seating for that performance, reserved seating. So two tickets
(12:25):
to the Gospel Music Festival for reserve seating at the
Marvin Sap, you know, reserve seating to see Marvin Sap,
and a family four pack of tickets to the Indiana
State Fair. So stay tuned for your chance to win those.
I think, Cameron, right now, I'm going to give away
the reserve seating tickets for the Gospel Music Festival at
(12:48):
the Indiana State Fair on the Hoo's a lottery free stage.
And so the collar numberless. See let's send our numbers
there for eight, zero, thirteen, ten. I'm wondering, what's a
good number towing. We haven't done four, yeah, we haven't
done for so the fourth caller, fourth caller, the three
one seven, four eight zero thirteen ten, three one seven
(13:08):
four eight zero thirteen ten will win the reserved tickets
to see Marvin saff at the Gospel Music Festival at
the Indiana State Fair on Sunday, August the seventeenth on Sunday,
August the seventeenth, and of course the family four pack.
(13:28):
You can do whatever you want. You can go whenever
you want. I don't think it's a designator for any
particular day. The tickets for today that we're giving away
to see Marvin Sap at the Gospel Music Festival at
the State Fair, that is designated for a particular day.
But the State Fair tickets that we have to give away,
the family four pack, you can use those at any
(13:48):
time during the run of the Indiana State Fair, which
by the way, will end on August seventeenth. So there's
that and some other you know of other developments. I
you know, something that we haven't been able to discuss
or get around to. The drama is continuing surrounding the
(14:08):
state of Texas, looking to create five new GOP leaning
congressional seats in Texas so that Trump doesn't look bad.
Just in case there is a a problem with the
upcoming midterms. So, as you know, the Democratic delegation walked
(14:33):
out so that they couldn't have a forum. Let me
see what the latest on that is. I know that
there were some questions about you know, in Indiana, you
always say could it happen here? Could it happen here?
So Governor Brown, here's a here's a statement. This is
a statement from the Indiana Democrat. By the way, Governor Braun,
(14:54):
you know, he just really didn't go into it, didn't
say too much about it. But I don't know why
Indiana need more congressional seats. I believe out of the
nine seven of them are seven of them are Republicans.
So I don't think Indiana would need to Well maybe
I don't know. I guess maybe there's never enough. But
there are Democrats around the country, Democratic governors around the
(15:17):
country who are planning countermeasures. They say, hey, if they
can do it, we can do it. But here's how
the state's Democratic party has reacted to the Republicans looking
to what they call rig congressional elections before the twenty
(15:38):
twenty six congressional lines. Before the twenty twenty six midterms.
It's as statement on Indiana Republicans looking to rig congressional
lines before the twenty twenty six midterms. And before I
read this statement just for a little background, and as
you know, the lines are typically redrawn during census years,
which are every ten years. Seldom, if ever, there's no need,
(16:01):
there's no reason whatsoever to redraw congressional lines in the
middle of a census cycle. There is no reason to
do that. And anyway, the Indiana Democratic Party released the
following statement from Chair from the chair on the possibility
(16:22):
of mid census redistricting and Vice President jd Vance's visit
to Indianapolis on Thursday. Yes, jd Vance is coming to
Indianapolis on Thursday. Indiana Republicans are so afraid of the
voters that they're willing to rig the elections to drown
hoos your voices. Indiana is already one of the most
voter suppressed states in the nation. Sending the Vice President
(16:43):
here to beg for another congressional seat is beyond absurd.
Hoosiers need to stand up against this blatant undermining of democracy.
And again that that is the statement from the Indiana
Democratic Party. So we do have a winner. Gerald heard
(17:03):
is Gerald on the line, No Okay, Gerald couldn't stay well, Gerald,
congratulations you have won. Okay, we got a winner on
that one. We're still going to give away State Fair tickets.
We're still going to give away State Fair tickets. But
Gerald has won a pair of tickets. Yeah, congratulations, congratulations Jess. Indeed,
(17:26):
he has won a pair of tickets to the Gospel
Music Festival at the Indiana State Fair, last day of
the Fair. Marvin Sap headlining the Gospel Music Festival. So
congratulations to you. Gerald. So, if you're calling now about
the tickets, they have been claimed, they have been one.
So but stay tuned. You'll have another opportunity at some
(17:48):
point in time during this show to win free Fair tickets,
because we're going to be giving away a family four
pack before it's all said and done on the Show Today.
On the Show Today, three one seven zero thirteen ten
three one seven uh four eight zero thirteen ten. That
is the number. The lines are open. So I don't
(18:12):
know what. Yeah, Jdvans is coming to Indiana to I
haven't really looked to see even where he is going
to be. Let me look and see Jdvans coming to Indiana.
Did so? Is the winner gone?
Speaker 8 (18:26):
Yeah, yeah, whats going.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Well, he's gone. Okay, he's gone, so uh counselor Oliver,
go ahead, how are you today?
Speaker 9 (18:34):
Well, I'll just I've just guessed the smiles all over
my face.
Speaker 10 (18:39):
I went to the National Night Out last night, and
had been going up for the last champion years, but
last night it was particularly just help real Puidon. I
say what I had not been seeing, and that.
Speaker 9 (18:51):
Is man.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Hmm okay, I can hardly hear you.
Speaker 9 (19:00):
H oh, can you here?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I can now a little bit better?
Speaker 9 (19:05):
Yeah, okay, uh.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah, well no, now you're going it out there. You
go there.
Speaker 9 (19:14):
Let let's let me pull over and stop.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Okay, that's what I do.
Speaker 9 (19:17):
Hold on, hold on, how's.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
That much better? Much much better?
Speaker 9 (19:39):
Let's better.
Speaker 10 (19:40):
Okay, let's see so many uh many young men and
their wives and one or two children.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
That that's wonderful.
Speaker 9 (19:49):
Yes that that that?
Speaker 8 (19:51):
Let me tell you, I guess the people I'm around.
Speaker 11 (19:54):
I don't.
Speaker 10 (19:54):
I'm talking about just out for the evening with their
family at the Ask For Night Out at Washington Park.
It was full of what I seen couples and wanted
two children together.
Speaker 9 (20:10):
That the whole even just impressive.
Speaker 10 (20:13):
I mean, it was just a wonderful place to be,
Washington Park with the Douglas Uh. I mean it was
just sensational, I mean just beautiful. And then today had
the anniversary fitting the anniversary of the Voter Rights Act
down at the downtown there at at the UH that
the clerk comes.
Speaker 9 (20:34):
The Kirk pron County Kirk Brawn.
Speaker 10 (20:36):
That was wonderful Iman the Voter Rights Act, reliving at
what the conditions were report the Act was passed, and
how far games have been made without ability to vote,
and the changes that we challenge.
Speaker 9 (20:49):
With today about voting.
Speaker 10 (20:51):
So I didn't want to pass that on about yesterday
last night, the National Night Out was just wonderful.
Speaker 9 (20:57):
I mean people everywhere, Like I.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Said, that's fantastic at riverside.
Speaker 10 (21:04):
Washington, I mean Douglas, but Washington Park, which is full
of young children with their parents. I'm talking about she
is eight and six years old, Yes, with their fathers
and mothers just setting hold their branches in their chairs.
(21:26):
Uh and Western but Western uh and CAD and all
of that.
Speaker 9 (21:31):
Everything just wonderful. I just want to past that on about.
Speaker 12 (21:34):
Raising the bar.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yes, yes we do.
Speaker 10 (21:39):
All right, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
All right, no, thank you. I appreciate you calling in
sharing that with the show. We didn't get to a
national night out last night or yesterday during the show.
We had some other stuff, but thank you. It's always
a great, great event and a lot of community and
uh city participation, So thank you, counsel. I appreciate it.
Speaker 9 (21:57):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
I'm gonna read this this JD. Van's visit.
Speaker 13 (22:00):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
This is not a good thing because the Trump is
is openly trying to steal the election what he's accused
others of doing. If you don't like the fact that
voters are going to have their say about who they
want in and who they want out, what do you do?
You run in and you change the rules. Okay, And
(22:21):
like I said, Indiana already has seven of the nine
congressional seats, and so it's truly believed that when JD.
Vance comes to town tomorrow he is going to try
to convince Governor Broun to call a special session to
have Indiana meet mid mid to a cycle to get
some more to make them all Republican districts. It's ridiculous,
(22:45):
it is insane. So I'm going to read that. This
is from the Indianapolis Star. JD. Vans to visit Indiana
amid push for redistricting, will Broun call a special session?
And again, like I said, Bron's been noncommittal, but Vice
Press and JD. Vance's visiting Indianapolis on August seventh to
speak with Governor Mike Brown and Republican legislative leaders about
(23:06):
the possibility of redistricting the state's congressional districts amid the
Trump administration's push to increase the GOP majority in the House.
This is the US House of Representatives again, and I
keep thinking back to that campaign promise that he made
you vote now and vote for him now, you'll never
have to vote again. Well, this is the plan in action.
(23:26):
This is the plan. Texas is doing it. He's sending
his people out there to ask everybody that'll listen, especially
Republican governors across the US, to go ahead and redraw
their line so that they can all have so that
it'll be one hundred percent Republican all the way across
the board, from sea to shining seat. And again, like
I said, there's some Democratic governors who are looking to
(23:49):
counter that because they're saying, if you redraw your lines
and make yours, mostly we're going to redraw ours because
there's no other way. You can't just sit by and
let them just steamroll over everything, including your vote. Van's
plans to meet with Braun, House Speaker Todd Houston, Offishers,
and Senate pro Tem Roderick Bray of Martinsville. The group
expects to discuss several topics, Braun said, but any discussion
(24:13):
about redistricting would be exploratory and no commitments have been
made at this point. But Bron didn't rule out calling
a special session to redraw the Hoosier States congressional districts
in an attempt to eat in an attempt to squeeze
in another Republican seat ahead of the twenty twenty six midterms. Y'all,
(24:34):
I'm telling you, right before your very eyes, this is corrupt,
this is wrong. And so here's what Bron said. I'm
gonna listen and see where they're coming from, Bron told
reporters at the State House. And again, I'm going to
be listening along with the other two leaders in the legislature,
and everybody's going to probably have a little different point
(24:55):
of view. Again, non committal, but he's listening. He's letting
him come. You know, if he did. If he had
no plans to do anything whatsoever to mess with your
vote and what you say you want, he wouldn't have
even entertained having the Vice president come here. He wouldn't
even entertain a discussion. He would have said, no, we're
not doing that, but thank you. No, they're all afraid
(25:17):
of the dictator at the White House. So Republicans already
hold seven of Indiana's nine US House seats, which is
what I said earlier. But Brown's comments come as a
Trump administration has encouraged other states to take up mid
decade redistricting to help maintain a GOLP majority in the
House after next year's election. Punch Bowl News reported the
White House has been exploring the possibility of also encouraging
(25:39):
state leaders to redistrict here in Indiana. And you know how,
you say it would in doubt follow the money trail.
If something doesn't make sense or something seems so outrageously
crazy when it comes to politics and things like this
circle back to what it might make Trump look like.
Because everything with Trump is about Trump, so he wants
(26:04):
to make sure that he doesn't look like a loser.
Though he doesn't look like a loser because he knows
he's losing popularity already with the big beautiful bill, the medicaid,
because people are getting thrown off daily here in the
state of Indiana. And if you think they're not, they
really are, because I've seen at least one of the letters.
So people are getting thrown off right and left. So
(26:24):
he knows that that's not popular. So if you can't
win the right way, what do you do? You cheat?
You cheat and holding a mid term mid census redrawing.
First of all, you can call the special session because
you're in the majority, But to do that so that
you can you know, pad the you know pad, the pad,
(26:44):
the what do you call it? Stack the deck? That's cheating,
that's corrupt, but that's Trump. Uh three one, seven, four, eight,
zero thirteen ten. Got some more stuff to share with you,
but I just wanted to let you know, and we
will certainly be following. Hopefully i'll have some sound from
some sound from the meeting tomorrow after Vice President Vance
(27:08):
meets with the governor. Will you know the phone lines
are going, We're gonna get to them. We just have
to squeeze in a real quick break right here. If
you're on the line, stay right there. We'll be right back.

Let's get back to the conversation. It's Community Connection with
Tina Cosby, brought to you by Child Advocates, a champion
for justice, opportunity and well being for children. On phrase
Am thirteen ten ninety five point one FM.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Oh, We're back with Community Connection. Phone lines are full.
We're gonna get to them right now in just a second,
but quick update. In some interesting developments regarding another shooting,
officials are now saying that an active shooter who shot
several people this morning at the Fort Stewart Army base
in Georgia is no longer a threat. Not sure what
(32:15):
that means. Usually the shooter is in custody or has
been shot. We should be finding out momentarily. Injuries have
been reported, but there's no specifics on the injuries. According
to CNN, the Army's Fort Stewart trains and deploys active
and reserved Army units in his home to the third
Infantry Division. Fort Stewart is about forty miles southwest of Savannah, Georgia.
(32:37):
So let's let's go back to the phone lines. Let's
Louise go ahead.
Speaker 22 (32:41):
How are you hi, Tana, Hi, thank you, thank you
for taking my call.
Speaker 8 (32:48):
This situation with Mike bron meeting with the Vice president.
Speaker 22 (32:55):
Yes, we know what Donald Trump does. Donald Trump is
he offers money to these people. And I mean, I'm
just being no you, I mean, you can't do nothing.
Speaker 8 (33:10):
But he right through what he's doing.
Speaker 22 (33:12):
He's openly cheating, like you said, and then he's so
bold and with what he's doing, he's telling his vice president, which.
Speaker 8 (33:24):
I call call his little zoons, to go and offer these.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Governors money, incentiveship.
Speaker 22 (33:32):
To a sentence to go ahead and and and you
know reply and do what he wants them to do,
which is to uh redraw.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Yeah, make them in favor of him.
Speaker 22 (33:48):
That Indiana has been a red state as long as
I can remember. I've been working the balls for years.
My mother did have me doing it. And every time
we knew that Republicans you know, had the had the
had the most.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Seats, and they got seven of the nine US congressional seats,
seven of the nine. And you want to yeah, they
want the whatever's left this Democrat because Trump wants to
assure that he does not come off looking like a loser.
And so he doesn't care about trampling democracy. He doesn't
care about trampling people's rights, people who vote, he doesn't
(34:25):
care what their vote says. As long as he can
win and look good. That's that's the main goal. And
then he's got all the minions who are only too
happy to help him out.
Speaker 8 (34:34):
That's what's going on.
Speaker 22 (34:35):
And if we don't get out and vote, we I mean,
this is like a clear and president. Wake up, Kyle
for Democrats. Now we don't have to go and say
say well, I don't want.
Speaker 8 (34:48):
To be a Democrat. Vote the democracy.
Speaker 22 (34:52):
Vote to get our democracy under control, because right now
we are on the losing end everything that's helping people
that don't have you know, medical uh yeah here, don't
have you know, don't have decent jobs and need help
(35:12):
with families to food right now.
Speaker 8 (35:15):
You know, it's it's really sad.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Yeah, it's it's it's sad, Louise. Yeah, and I vote.
Speaker 8 (35:23):
We got to get out and vote.
Speaker 23 (35:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (35:25):
I said to myself, what is it that I can do?
I always work the polls.
Speaker 22 (35:31):
But I mean this, right now, we need to show up.
I don't know if we need to show up at
the state office building or what are the capitol I
don't know.
Speaker 8 (35:41):
But what he's doing is just open.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
To ye corrupt, corrupt, corruption, yes, corruption. But you know
here's the thing though, that this Democratic Party statement and
I read it to you, but the last line is
what you know got me? Who's yours? Need to stand
up against this blatant undermining of democracy. That's the statement. Okay,
(36:05):
what's the call to action? What stand up?
Speaker 1 (36:08):
In?
Speaker 2 (36:08):
What way? Democrats stand up in what way? Sam bar Loga?
What what? What? What does it look like? Nobody is
saying stand up?
Speaker 9 (36:18):
How?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
What is the strategy? What is the plan? There? The
Democrats are, you know, the State Democratic Party is making
a statement here. They do what they do. They put
out a statement and they do not they don't approve.
And then the last line of the statement is who's
yours need to stand up against this blatant undermining of democracy?
Then what what is the plan? What's the move? What's
(36:42):
the move? They got a plan, they got and there
they're putting it in action. They've got it. And so
in the sense that the Democratic Party here this is
dem y'all got to start giving more specifics like what yes, yes,
more of a call to action than just making a
for the record.
Speaker 8 (37:02):
Let us know what it is we need to.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
Do exactly, exactly.
Speaker 22 (37:06):
Make make this statement complete. Yeah, you made a statement,
so we got to follow through with it. Help us
understand what it is.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
We need to need to do exactly.
Speaker 8 (37:17):
I mean, I'm with you one hundred I don't I
don't know what else to say. I just know this.
Speaker 22 (37:23):
Everyone that lives in my house so or anybody that
I had, I got a new eighteen year old and
I'm going to take him to go register to vote,
you know, And so I mean I'll do my part
on that end, but it needs more than just that.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 8 (37:42):
More than just that.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Absolutely.
Speaker 22 (37:44):
I appreciate you putting that out there, and I'm going
to listen to what he has to say tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
Don't be. But you know what, don't be. Thank you, Louise.
I appreciate it. I would not be surprised at all.
And Louise made an excellent point. What is he going
to get in return for calling a special session? Because
everybody gets their palms greased. I mean it's as clear
as they Again, that's part of the corruption. Either the
palms greased or they get extorted in some kind of
way like okay, if you don't there, either you play
(38:13):
with us or you don't play with us. Mob tactics.
So you're either gonna do it or you're not. Dana,
go ahead, how are you, Dane? Are you there?
Speaker 9 (38:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 24 (38:23):
Can you hear me?
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yes? I can hear you? Yes?
Speaker 25 (38:26):
Hi.
Speaker 24 (38:26):
Yeah, Conan, like I did the other day after Iaac
Carson was on m HM.
Speaker 13 (38:31):
And once again, when you read no action, the dumb
letter means nothing, and it's just shocking to me. I
can't say it enough how disappointed I am that the
Democratic Party they're not strategic at all. They don't work
across state lines to get together a consensus about what
(38:51):
should be happening. I am stunned at the ineffectiveness of
this Democratic Party period point labels not and I'm talking.
Speaker 24 (39:00):
About every level.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Yeah, from the.
Speaker 13 (39:02):
Mayor's office, anybody. Everybody could cascade messages. But I get
let me back up too. I constantly get text messages
from some I guess I blow the different groups or
whatever it is, and they're like, he donate three dollars,
two dollars, one dollar. They never say what they're gonna
do with the money.
Speaker 26 (39:19):
I can see.
Speaker 24 (39:20):
I can see if they.
Speaker 13 (39:21):
Were doing commercials that in a really pointed way, cascading
messaging about the corruption about Epstein. They can flood the Instagram,
the Internet, they can flood Facebook with all kind of
commercials and stuff. They can flood TV, but they don't
do that, Like that's the easiest way to access people
across the party lines about what's going on.
Speaker 24 (39:42):
But they don't do that. They just want money. I
have no idea what they're gonna do with the money.
They'll even know what they're doing with the money.
Speaker 13 (39:48):
The messages crap. And again, when mister Curson was here
the other day talking about his career, fear wonderful, he
could have had one of his staffers come do that
mess I want him to come talk to us about
we this is what we're going to do to stop
this because right now, guess what are the cars they're
coming for you. They come for your district. They're gonna read,
they're gonna move all but rub out of there, and
(40:10):
you're gonna sit there flat footed and not have a
thing to say.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
Yeah, yeah, that was part, excuse me, part of the reason.
Speaker 8 (40:18):
You know.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
I asked, well, what would your grandmother do? Because she
was a she was a virabrand, and you know, what
do you think she would have done? Or would she would?
And he answered it, uh, but you know, I I
don't know. I think overall I would agree. I don't
see a strategy and I don't see one collective plan
by the Democrats from coast to coast. I just don't
see it. Now, maybe somebody can tell me that it's there.
(40:40):
I just don't see one.
Speaker 13 (40:41):
So but the reality and I don't want to deliver
the point. But my whole thing is this Trump and Broun,
who Braun is clearly anti minority, and you could call
it what you want to call it. I think people
need to be very clear about who this man is.
Be very clear people won't call they won't call a
thing a thing about this man and label him appropriately
(41:01):
and keep messaging about who he is.
Speaker 24 (41:04):
I feel that's nothing that people sort of are trying
to be polite with a person who You can't be
polite with these people. You gotta call a thing a
thing and until you start putting like to me, if
I'm a person who's on the other day, if he
talk in a more forthright way about who this person
is that's the current governor, and who this current president
is and about what that would have made me feel
(41:26):
so much better. But I left there.
Speaker 13 (41:29):
I said in my car on my break right now
even and I listened to him, and I'm like, it
just sounded like he has talking points. You stick it
to the script. You need to get off your freaking script.
I don't know what's going on, but he needs to
wake up because I think he relies on the past
of people in his area who just have the name
recognition and nothing that's gone to hell in the hand
basket on his watch. So they just keep voting for him,
(41:50):
the one that choose to vote, and that's how he
kind of is getting forward. There's no new ideas, there's
nothing that's going on.
Speaker 24 (41:57):
And I'm not shading him, but this is a new
time to a new leadership. And I don't know that.
And I'm not picking on Hell. I just said because
he was here the other day, but all of them,
there's no strategy them. People are working in concert together to.
Speaker 13 (42:09):
Say yeah they are.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
They got they got a network, and they got folks planned,
and they've got a they've got a strategic plan and
they are working the plan and hopefully, uh, you know
what Texas did, and what's New York and Illinois and
I think some other states are doing. And like they
let them try, let them do it, because here comes
(42:32):
ours that is fighting back. That is fighting back, here
comes ours. But they are in control of the government
of their state. They're they're democratic governors. So you know,
it's like you want to play dirty, We'll play dirty too.
So that but at this point, that's all you can do.
That's all you can do.
Speaker 24 (42:50):
And what is our project twenty twenty five? Like, what
is our project?
Speaker 9 (42:55):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (42:55):
There is no project twenty twenty five.
Speaker 24 (42:57):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
They have a whole fu Okay, we're gonna have Yeah,
we're gonna have to cut that, Dana, Sorry about that?
Thank you? Uh yeah, Danna got a little salty the
other day and we were able to clean it up.
That one. We can't let go. But thank you, Dana,
Thank you very much. Appreciate your opinion. Let's see get Kevin.
You've been on for a little bit. Go ahead, Hey,
(43:18):
how you doing good? How are you?
Speaker 7 (43:20):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (43:21):
I just won't let Dana know we feel our frustration.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
I know it's just frustration.
Speaker 27 (43:24):
Yeah, yeah, but we gotta hold our tongue and watch
that we talk on the radio.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Yeah we do too.
Speaker 27 (43:31):
I'm sure there's no surprise what I do for a living.
Speaker 28 (43:34):
I driving a Bursey vehicle.
Speaker 27 (43:35):
You mentioned about people racial ambulances. You wouldn't You wouldn't
believe half the stories I could tell you.
Speaker 2 (43:41):
Oh, I'll bet. I'll bet, Kevin, because just watching in
real time, and you know, it makes you jall drop
like this, These people need help they're trying to get
to the quickly, to the closest place possible to get
help for these folks, and y'all out here clowning. Come on,
What if it was you, That's what I always tell
my my tell anyway, what if it were you or
somebody you love? How would you do?
Speaker 27 (44:03):
A couple of psa announced, Please pull over to the
right if anything, Do not just stop in the middle
of the street. Do not hit your brakes and just stop.
I'm carrying seven hundred gallons of water. Water is like
eight pounds of gallons, so it's gonna take me a
long time to stop. So you kids can't stop, and
you don't know where I'm going. Don't try to race
on the side of me. You have no clue of.
Speaker 29 (44:23):
Where I'm going.
Speaker 27 (44:24):
Don't block intersections, don't do it. Don't tell to race
the light just to get in front of me.
Speaker 12 (44:29):
Some things you just don't do.
Speaker 27 (44:30):
Take your time. You're not in that big of a hurry.
That little I'm moving quick, So that little bit of
time I'm going, Trust me, it's not gonna make any
difference where you're going.
Speaker 7 (44:38):
I'm promising walking.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
My other thing is.
Speaker 27 (44:40):
I had the chance to go to the ferry last night,
on the day took my wife on the day to
the ferry.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Is so sweet.
Speaker 27 (44:46):
Yes, yeah, we got we got there last minute. They
are not playing about the eight o'clock rule. I promise
you that one thing. I was sitting there and I
was looking at a young man, young white gentlemen. I said, man,
something is odd about this guy. He just like he's
extra ball. Well, they had so many undercover officers out
there yesterday, it was unreal.
Speaker 29 (45:05):
I say, I didn't.
Speaker 27 (45:06):
The only altercation I did see happened to be on caucasion,
white female getting into it with her boyfriend. She snatched
his phone through it in the trash and like a
football lineman, she got snatched up and picked up and
took away. It was almost like a movie. And then
her boyfriend got ran up all like, hey, you be
careful when you go down to So that was the
only altercation I've seen. But I did notice they had
(45:27):
a lot of undercover officers out there. I did notice
when he grabbed her, she kind of yanked away and
he raised his shirt. He wasn't badge around his way.
He raised his shirt up and show his badge, and
she kind of stopped. She froze in her tracks when
she did that. So they are serious. They're seriously about
kicking the kids out. They're walking up the kids. It
was your adult supervision.
Speaker 8 (45:47):
At if they're not around you, you have to go.
Speaker 12 (45:49):
They're not playing.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
I don't have a problem with that, Kevin. Sorry, I
don't have a problem though.
Speaker 7 (45:54):
No, no, I don't.
Speaker 12 (45:54):
I don't need it.
Speaker 27 (45:55):
Like but like I said, I wish we don't. I
wish we didn't leave it up to law enforce of
our kids.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
I wish I wish we didn't force their hand. I
wish we didn't force their hands. Yeah.
Speaker 27 (46:05):
Yes, I wish that we would get out there, uh
and take care of our kids. And I think we
still can do it. I met with a prominent pastor
yesterday and I kind of expressed my.
Speaker 28 (46:14):
Concerns to him.
Speaker 27 (46:15):
If we could sit down before these big events, like
I said, I can Galvin ass geen guys, a couple
other guys, guys at least on Friday and Saturday nights
of these events. We can get dads out there. Like
I said yesterday, people will live experience at least engaged
with the young, with the young folks and talk to them,
and don't just wait till we see something brewing and
then to go at it. Then we watch them on
(46:36):
social media looking.
Speaker 15 (46:37):
Wild out there.
Speaker 27 (46:38):
That's some things we just don't need. We already get
a bad rap. We don't need to add to the
bad rap.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
No, we don't. And of course we can get it together.
There's no doubt about that, Kevin at all. So thank you,
Thank you for your calling. Thanks for all you do
out there in the community. Keep on doing it. We
really appreciate it. Jeff, go ahead, how are you.
Speaker 7 (46:57):
Happy day?
Speaker 2 (46:59):
Happy day? Yes, indeed, and.
Speaker 30 (47:01):
Camera, and I just want to say one thing, Dana, sister,
I love you.
Speaker 31 (47:07):
And.
Speaker 7 (47:09):
We need more data.
Speaker 30 (47:10):
Dana, you would have made a good sailor because you
cussed like one and yes, I'm a known cuss or two.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
So but uh, she'll do better. She'll do better. But
we know she was on a roll and I just couldn't. Yeah,
she was on a roll and I just I just
couldn't risk another uh uh. But you know I feel
it too, and I want her to call back because
she makes good points, but she makes.
Speaker 30 (47:30):
A great points good So you know I got your back, sister,
I got your back.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
Yeah, we got you, Dana, and you can call back,
all right, thank you.
Speaker 30 (47:38):
But ah, but the thing is, I'm gonna say one thing, Tina,
Democrats are the Keystone Cops.
Speaker 7 (47:46):
Republicans are the Manson family.
Speaker 30 (47:49):
M the Democrats are the Keystone Cops, and the Republicans
are the Manson family.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
I have no doubt what it looks like.
Speaker 30 (47:57):
And uh yeah, the Republicans are cults, you're co and
they're gonna do what the dear Master tells him to do.
And Democrats, you know what, you know what, Chuck Schumer
got to give up playing golf.
Speaker 7 (48:09):
With miss McConnell. Okay, yeah, we gotta give up.
Speaker 30 (48:14):
You know, we need more jazz, we need more Jasmin Crocketts,
we need more Bernie Sanders. But the Democrats really need
is a Harry S. Truman or an LBJ or Barack
Obama with these street fighters. No more, Mister Knight got
because Donald trunk poles.
Speaker 7 (48:31):
Are in the garbage.
Speaker 30 (48:32):
His poles are in the guard because of the Epstein situation. Okay,
all right, that's why it's all reduced. That's why he's panicking. Oh,
this is because he is a non sexual predator. That's
why he wants to redraw the map and all that.
And I'm so glad that the governor of California, the
governor of Usual.
Speaker 2 (48:52):
Yeah, say, oh.
Speaker 30 (48:54):
You want you wanna fight, Well, we're gonna fight Democrats.
Gotta quit being mister hippie being and.
Speaker 7 (49:04):
Fascism.
Speaker 22 (49:05):
Fascism, yes, fascism.
Speaker 30 (49:09):
Is beyond some of you guys vocabulary. A strongly suggest
you get a west to find out what it is. Fascist.
You can't be nice with fascist, Tina. You can't be
nice with biggest and racist.
Speaker 7 (49:20):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 30 (49:21):
I ain't trying to be friends with Stavey Bens. I
ain't trying to be friends with biggest like Elon Musk,
who's gonna violates people. Right, And as soon as these
rural hospitals are closed out, closed down because the Medicaid cuts,
then maybe people will start waking up. I don't know
it's gonna be enough, but but you know what, I'll
(49:42):
tell you something, Tina, we got our democracy is at risk.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Well, you know what, I would not be surprised if
Braun caused a special session to read is a fascion? Yeah,
I would not be surprised if he does that, because well,
he's also coward, because here's the thing. Here's the thing.
He he he is not going to stand up to
Trump's either going to offer him a boat. Look like
Dana said, she's right, something really really good for the state,
(50:10):
or if you don't do it, I'm not gonna let
you have what you know, I'm gonna cut off your funding.
So he's really between a rock and a hard place
because he's a Republican.
Speaker 7 (50:18):
No no, no, no, no. He wants to be buddy
with a pedophowl.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
Well I'm all that, all that too, probably, but here's
the thing.
Speaker 7 (50:26):
Wants to be friends with a pedophowl.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Okay, well, yeah, you know.
Speaker 30 (50:30):
Epstein, Epstein, and you know I say, I'm gonna close
with this.
Speaker 7 (50:34):
He's talking about parting that woman that that.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Maxwell Delaine mask Maxwell.
Speaker 7 (50:38):
Yes, he's in a Cash twenty two. The more the storied.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
Hangs around is bad part.
Speaker 7 (50:45):
But if he parted that woman Mark Mullworth, all the
hell is going to break loose.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
Yep, yep, yep. It'll be something that.
Speaker 8 (50:51):
He can he got himself in to Cash twenty two yep, and.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
Let him let him wallow in it because he's not
going to be able to get out of it, not
like he thinks he is. But yeah, Jeff, thank you.
And again, like Jeff said, and Dana, and I've said,
these democratic governors that they're going to have to be
the counterpoint and we'll see how much fight they have
in them if these measures actually do start taking place. Ron,
(51:17):
go ahead, Ron on line four, go ahead, How are you?
Thank you?
Speaker 28 (51:22):
Yeah? First of all, I'm going to say this, and
then you can you can give me your take on.
Speaker 9 (51:28):
The end of it.
Speaker 28 (51:29):
The Epstein thing is not as important to Republicans as
it is to Democrats. And I wish the Democrats would
stop this messaging on Epstein because Trump's polls on Epstein
are in the tank, but his overall polls with Republicans, okay,
(51:50):
are fair to Middland okay, because they're thinking about the
economy and how they're winning and how he's given it
to the Libs. That lady Dana, right, he's one of
the future leaders. And Dana, if you're still listening, okay,
if you don't get into politics, you're committing a crime
against yourself because you're you're you're you'll be great in it.
(52:11):
We don't have the leaders. Our leaders are too old
and and I love what they did yesterday what the
Costumer was talking about. But how many how many voter
registration books did they have out there? You see, this
thing with Trump and Redistrict is more serious than what
we're thinking. Trump is trying to get three fifths of
(52:35):
votes in both the House and the Senate to amend
the twenty second Amendment and allow him to run for
a third term. That's what this is about.
Speaker 17 (52:45):
Ron.
Speaker 28 (52:46):
Well, no, he doesn't have it right now, Okay, that's
why he's trying to get these these other seats. So
when Bron who is who will he'll do what Trump.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
Says, Yeah, he will.
Speaker 29 (52:57):
It doesn't mean any money.
Speaker 28 (52:58):
Because they're Allish foundation people. And if I were the president,
I would declare the Heritage Foundation a terrorist organization because
that's exactly what they're doing. And so and Tina, we
just need leaders, Okay, if you can get a twenty one,
twenty two year old Fred Hampton.
Speaker 12 (53:18):
To get people to meet.
Speaker 28 (53:21):
And organize black, white, Latinos of all colors, okay, under
the banner of power to all the people, right, And
we just don't have that and out you know, so,
I don't know what you think about I don't also
believe I don't believe the Democrats will go with registrict
even if the Republicans do. I don't think that. I
(53:41):
think they're college.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
I don't know. I tell you what, I don't know
too much about Newsome and our buddy over there in Illinois,
the governor there. Oh my goodness, his name just just
flew right out of my head. I'm looking at him now. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Pritzker think is his name. But I kind of I
(54:03):
believe New York's governor now as far as California, and
I believe Illinois. I don't think they're going to back
down around because they can't they you know, I don't.
I think that they will definitely if here's the thing,
if the Republicans are allowed to start this mid cycle redistricting.
So far, they've been blocked by the Democratic Caucus or
(54:26):
the Democratic group that went to Illinois where safe haven,
safe place.
Speaker 32 (54:31):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
But we'll see, you know. But I I don't I cannot, huh.
I think they will do that. Yeah, Texas, will you think?
Speaker 28 (54:39):
I think pittser and the governors will try. I think
there's some Democrats are going to go against that.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Oh, I see what you're saying. I see you're saying
the leadership. Yeah, the leaders wanted, but will they're will
their rank and file follow suit? Good point, good point.
Speaker 28 (54:54):
They're the guy in California, Republicans, he's trying to get
uh something going where they outlaw Jerry Manning throughout the
United States. And he's so scared to lose this seat
if the governor of California goes to with his plan.
But it basically balls down to tina. This man. That's
why he was up on the top of the roof
of the White House the other day talking about a
(55:15):
dome because he wants to make it into a castle
because he has no plans to leave. You see, he
has no plan to leave it. And that's what these
Republicans want to do. They are cutthroat, they're ruthless. They're terrorists. Okay,
And if any Republicans you're out there listening out, yeah,
you're terrorists and you're fascist. And we don't have a
White House. Now we have a White.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
House, thank you, thank you. Ron got to take a break.
If you are on the line, stay right there, you are,
first up out of the break. We'll be right back.

It's Community Connection with Tina Cos brought to you by
Child Advocates, a champion for justice, opportunity and well being
for children on Praise AM thirteen ten ninety five point
one FM.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
And we're back with Community Connection. A number you wanting
to weigh in on the fact that Vice President jd
Vance is coming to Indiana tomorrow to help spread gain support.
I guess I should say gain support for Republican states
with Republican governors to redistrict, redraw their maps to make
them more GOP so that Donald Trump won't have any
(01:01:32):
problems winning in the midterms. The state of Texas, you
already heard about that dust up that has been nationally
covered where a group of Democrats walked out so that
they wouldn't have a quorum to even bring it to
the floor because it's corrupt and I don't even know
how it's not illegal, I don't know. But basically, congressional
maps are drawn every census. Every census is every ten years,
(01:01:56):
like twenty twenty was the census. The next one is
due in which is still a few years away, five
years away, so there's no need to go in the
middle of the cycle and redraw the maps, except that
there's a midterm coming up in twenty twenty six and
Donald Trump a trending too well right now, So what
(01:02:16):
he wants to do is rig the game, create more seats,
draw the maps to give him more seats so that
he can he can win and won't look like a loser.
And so that campaign is coming to the state of
Indiana tomorrow with Vice President ja d Vance's visit and
Governor Mike Bron is going to be meeting with him.
Governor Mike Bron has not ruled it out. He said
(01:02:36):
he'll listen and hear what they have to say. I
find the whole thing outrageous, and like I said, I
don't see how it's not criminal. But I don't know
the law on those things. So a lot of you
were weighing in on that, uh and uh, so we're
gonna let you continue to weigh in. Three one seven,
four eight zero thirteen ten, three one seven fo eight
zero thirteen ten. By the way, we're still going to
give away a family four pack of State Fair tickets.
(01:02:58):
Will stay tuned for your chance to do that. But
right now we'll go right back to the phone lines. Sam,
go ahead, how are you.
Speaker 23 (01:03:06):
Hi, Tina?
Speaker 31 (01:03:07):
Listen?
Speaker 24 (01:03:09):
I am so done.
Speaker 26 (01:03:14):
I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Speaker 24 (01:03:18):
There is that you.
Speaker 26 (01:03:19):
If you know history, history can repeat itself. The Roman
learned in college. The Roman Empires fell because of the
people within that were like a day'sicl themselves. I got
the money, I got the car, cast clothes, blah blah blah.
I don't care, not gonna gonna have the US. Also,
(01:03:43):
Elon Musk at one of those times he was in
the White House, he did his arm like a high
hitler and he bit his bottom lip high hitler. I'm like, uh,
if we don't know our.
Speaker 8 (01:03:55):
History, do you know what that meant?
Speaker 26 (01:03:57):
That meant there was a bunch of not a bunch, no, no, no,
millions of Jews who were citizens that got rounded up
in and buses. I guess there will and were killed.
Speaker 24 (01:04:15):
So don't think.
Speaker 26 (01:04:16):
It can't happen to you black people, because are we
loved so much by this president and this country furiously?
And then on top of that, if you might be
mixed or or or have the heritage to maybe look Mexican,
they could grab you off the street, put you in
(01:04:37):
an unmarked vance and are where's that Dad's missing?
Speaker 11 (01:04:41):
Hell?
Speaker 7 (01:04:42):
He might be in Al Salvador.
Speaker 26 (01:04:44):
We need to wake up. Remember when I said I
didn't care if Mickey Mouse, and I'm gonna say Mickey
Mouth and big Bird this time, I can't say Donald
Nothing was running Forten for this, for Traduce, then I've
gone vote for Why did I say that? Because of
what I'm seeing now? Why did I say that? I
(01:05:07):
didn't trust Trump and the Republicans. Why did I say that?
Because history can repeat itself. We grew, we moved, and
the reconstructions find reconstruction under doctor timy Lewis Gates Junior, find.
Speaker 24 (01:05:24):
Out we was rolling.
Speaker 26 (01:05:27):
The reason why there is a public school was because
of the Democrats. The Democrats in Congress from South Carolina
said the poor white kids.
Speaker 8 (01:05:41):
And the poor black kids need an education.
Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
Yeah, yeah, listen.
Speaker 26 (01:05:46):
Out if you say, oh yeah, they got them Mexican Ah,
wait a minute, wait a minute. Found out on TVs
whether I hate TDS. The Mexicans owned the West coast
all the way down to Texas and got messed over.
So if they were here before any of us were,
(01:06:07):
So if you think, oh that don't happen to me, oh.
Speaker 22 (01:06:10):
Hell and well yeah yeah, they could come and get you.
Speaker 26 (01:06:13):
Yeah, get up and there's and then there's no like.
Speaker 8 (01:06:17):
Why are they doing this?
Speaker 24 (01:06:19):
He said he's.
Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Gonna be said he was gonna be a dictator from
day one, he said, on day one.
Speaker 8 (01:06:23):
But yeah, yeah, black people.
Speaker 2 (01:06:27):
Alright, he said, Yeah, we gotta we gotta keep going. Yeah,
vote and get out there and and act. Thank you,
thank you. Our ladies are getting a little salty with
the language today, so uh three one seven for zero
thirteen ten. Thank you, Sam, thank you, And do callback
really appreciate it. Appreciate it's a passionate thing. It is,
and and people are tired, they're taking the gloves off,
(01:06:48):
and I get that. I get that, but we don't
want to get fined by the FCC because we want
to stay on the air as long as we can.
As a matter of fact. Three one seven forty zero
thirteen ten h ron, go ahead.
Speaker 9 (01:06:59):
How are you.
Speaker 15 (01:07:01):
Hello, lovely Tina, I am well and I hope you
are too, indeed, as well as Cameron, Tina. Like always,
I got to tell people love God with all your heart, mind,
soul and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. Everybody's your neighbor.
Speaker 23 (01:07:14):
Tina.
Speaker 15 (01:07:16):
I sent our congressman an email and I copied you.
I don't know if you had a moment to see
it or read it yet, Okay. I was intent on
trying to call in, but I was busy the other day.
Speaker 23 (01:07:30):
Couldn't get it done, Tina.
Speaker 15 (01:07:33):
As I said, we need to plan and upset town halls.
We need to go into their party, into the Republican party,
and turn them against themselves because there's not enough of
us alone to witness fight.
Speaker 17 (01:07:51):
You.
Speaker 15 (01:07:51):
You know, we're in a red state and no matter
what whether what did you say, two out of nine
are already only two out of that are Democrats.
Speaker 7 (01:08:01):
Seamen.
Speaker 15 (01:08:02):
The problem is we need more help, and the way
to get that help is to turn them against themselves,
remind them that their leaders are not working on their behavior. Behalf.
You can see that in the things that they're doing.
We uh and I'd like to see, as somebody said
(01:08:23):
a moment ago when Andre when Congressman Carsons is having
job theirs that's all good, we need jobs. Don't don't
want to do that or don't want to disagree with
that all. However, in addition to that, we need to
go into their town halls, create their town halls and
tell them how bad they're being treated, remind them and
(01:08:47):
make them turn against their own leaders. That in my mind,
that that's that's that's a part of the issue. Uh, Tea.
It's going to be difficult because of the numbers. And
I hear you tell everybody vote, vote, vote, seeing mostly
the people that you're talking to are black people who
are already voting in the right way. However, the other
(01:09:09):
people out there, the Republicans who don't listen to your show,
they're not being affected. They're listening to some of those
other shows and following what the marching orders. However, we
need to find a way to get into their party
and remind them they're being suckered. Hopefully they will then
(01:09:30):
try to figure out how to turn against against them
and stop being so read that they have to follow
steps they need. We need to upset them. I get
a congressman. He sends me an email. Because I'm a veteran,
I don't know how many other people are actually involved
(01:09:51):
in talking to him via email. I'm waiting to see
if he ever responds to something that actually tells me
that somebody opened my ear email and read it. But
you know how that works.
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Well, they the last I heard, there is a staff
that does that. They do that here in Indianapolis to
the best of my knowledge. They may not do it quickly,
but I'm pretty sure that they do everything they can
to answer all the emails. That's that was announced at
a forum that I moderated for him several months ago.
(01:10:24):
Uh that I want to see a response, Yeah, no, no, no,
I'm just saying or that the.
Speaker 15 (01:10:32):
People can say anything I go about what you do.
If you tell me you're going to open the emails,
or if you tell me people do that. What I
expect then is a response saying, well we like your idea,
we don't like your idea, or just go to heck,
leave us alone. But some response indicates that you opened
the email and you read it, and if not, about
(01:10:52):
a month or so, the same one again.
Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
And well I did get it, Ron, and I did.
I did get it, and I did read it, and
I just was waiting for the interaction. I mean, I
was copied as a you know, as to be copied.
There wasn't any response necessary for me, especially when you're copied.
So but I did read it, and it's making sure. Yeah, no, yeah,
(01:11:14):
I got it. I got it. Uh, And I was
just waiting to hear who was going to respond to
who it was addressed too. So yeah, yeah, there we go,
there we go so much. All right, thank you Ron?
Three one seven okay, thank three one seven four eight
zero thirteen ten three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten.
Speaker 12 (01:11:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
A lot of times when you're copied, as a matter
of fact, that's what you do. You're copied, and you
sit back and you you just wait and see the
other two primary parties and see their interaction. I know
CC and copying means just copied as an FYI not
necessarily soliciting anything for me. As far as the response
I was copied, I read it and I was just waiting.
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten Barbara, go ahead, how
are you? I ca him? Good afternoon, Good afternoon.
Speaker 8 (01:12:04):
You might have already mentioned this.
Speaker 13 (01:12:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 24 (01:12:05):
I've been listening in and out.
Speaker 8 (01:12:07):
Doing some other stuff.
Speaker 37 (01:12:08):
But the Texas Democrats were accuated from their Illinois hotel
after bomb threats.
Speaker 2 (01:12:14):
Oh no, I didn't mention that. I didn't hear about that.
When was that today? Today? It had to be today,
ten fifty one. There was bomb threats to the hotel
where they were staying, and they were evacuated.
Speaker 38 (01:12:27):
Yeah, the whole hotel was evacuated.
Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
See this is so ugly, and people are so it's
I hate. Somebody's gonna get hurt behind lies, lies, lies,
stoking fires and lying. I mean, this whole thing about
the election in twenty twenty being stolen. That's just it's
just it's hard to even comprehend. It's just hard to
(01:12:54):
even comprehense that could rest because I tell you it's
all about him, you know, Like I said, I'm drawing
an analogy. When you can't figure out something in certain circles,
they say, follow the money trail. If you can't figure
out why certain things are taking place, just circle back
to one man. And it has to do with how
he feels about it or how he thinks it makes
(01:13:15):
him look. He could care less about America, America's people,
the democracy, the constitution. He could not give a darn
about any of it. He doesn't care. It's all about him.
And people still can't figure that out. They still can't
(01:13:36):
figure it out. No, it's all about it.
Speaker 37 (01:13:40):
They stopped referring to Joe Biden as sleepy Joe because
he's not been able to stay away too much lately
and his demon legs all swollowing up.
Speaker 9 (01:13:50):
You know, he's a problem.
Speaker 37 (01:13:52):
So he's kind of laid off, done a little bit.
But he is so so inappropriate in every way. I'm
not going to stand it so anyways, in.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Every way, I I don't know anyway, And when she
is appropriate. So yeah, thank you, Barbara. Yeah, that's a
very good point. Uh, you know, all good, all good feedback.
Three one seven for zero thirteen ten three one seven,
mister Russell, go ahead, how are.
Speaker 23 (01:14:14):
You, hey, Tina. Very interesting program. I'm glad to see
so many people getting in in airing their their their opinions. Yeah.
I think, as you mentioned at the at the opening,
the key word is rigged, because that is the word
(01:14:38):
that our current president uses all the time. He says
he he's been rigged, but actually he's the one doing
the rigging. Even if you remember when he first ran,
uh he tried to rig the post office and.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
Yeah everything called called Georgia and said get me some votes,
just like he called Texas and said get me some
more districts. I mean, he was indicted for that because
it's criminal, is criminal, but uh.
Speaker 23 (01:15:07):
Yeah, and you know they they attacked the prosecutor and judge,
but everybody saw what he did on TV. He really
didn't need a court. But uh, the amazing thing is
to me that some of the so called uh commentators
(01:15:30):
that seem to enable him, which is all across the
country and really is a big part of his strength,
they don't seem to understand that what they're doing is
really destroying the country. And I think more people are
waking up to that fact that one of your colleges
mentioned that that they should go to town halls and something.
Speaker 24 (01:15:54):
And strategy, strategy, But but people don't.
Speaker 23 (01:16:01):
Don't don't take uh these people know before you know,
because when you start messing with the money, they are
very keen about it and they will uh act accordingly.
So I don't think it's necessary to actually invade an
(01:16:22):
tell me. I think that's the reason that Trump is
taking the actions that he's taking in terms of redistrict game,
because he realizes he's in trouble, and uh, this is
just another way he's trying to come at that.
Speaker 28 (01:16:36):
But to my way of.
Speaker 23 (01:16:38):
Thinking, I would be surprised if it works. He can
try all he wants, you know, but.
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
And anybody that that pushes it through. Have you seen that,
mister Russell, I'm sorry, thank you, thank you for your car.
Have you seen that that graphic of the number of
people who became involved with Donald Trump who are now
either in jail or on their way to jail. It
is just grows by. There is no positive outcome. That
happens with dealing with Trump and the same things. If
(01:17:06):
bron gets in, you know, down in the mud, we
think the same thing's gonna happen to Braun uh Abbott
in Texas and all the rest of them. Keep it,
you know, he's he's you know, do they talk about
the Midas touch you know, No, he's the Devil's touch it.
It's just it's there's nothing good about associating with that man. Nothing,
And yet still people just keep they follow him like
(01:17:28):
the pied piper. So good for them, brother man, go ahead,
how are you hey?
Speaker 8 (01:17:36):
I lot you show.
Speaker 39 (01:17:38):
I was going to say that the voters don't get
frustrated because this guy's going down. And I know, just
like the Goud said before, he's trying to get this
go through so he can stay well.
Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
And these in offices that he was trying to stay
out of jail. He could care less about running the country.
He wants to play golf and do other things. He
just didn't want to go to jail. So the Supreme
Court helped him out there and some other things.
Speaker 39 (01:18:13):
So if that brother named Smith could prosecute him again
and be get re hired, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Oh, Jack Special Counsel Jack Smith. Yeah, if he.
Speaker 39 (01:18:30):
That, if he get out off, it's gonna be another
January sixth. If he lose, you got to believe that
God the Nates goes, he's going to try to turn
the military on us.
Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Well try already done it in a lot of ways.
So but yeah, I agree, brother man. And you know,
I don't necessarily think that people. You know, I think
the passion is good. It's what's been missed for a
number of years, the passion and want to get up
and do something. This that folks are now expressing. I
(01:19:07):
think that's fantastic. To me, is healthy because it's it's
a healthy reaction to an un just violation of everything
that we are as people, as humans. And so I
don't I don't have a problem with it. I think
it just needs to be channeled and we put it
in the right direction, however that is or whatever that is.
(01:19:27):
But yeah, folks got it wrong.
Speaker 8 (01:19:32):
Oh and I help you keep them inspired?
Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
Okay, Well, thank you, thank you, brother man. I don't
I'll do what I can do. I'm just a messenger
sometimes most of the time. I'm just a messenger. Uh
three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten, three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten, Gerald, go ahead, how
are you?
Speaker 29 (01:19:53):
How are you doing today?
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
I'm doing well? How are you fine?
Speaker 29 (01:19:57):
You know what the scripture said, wicked is the high places,
and that's what he's in there. And he's a wicked person.
And he to me, he was messed up like you
just said. Uh, he wanted to be a president and
we wouldn't go to jail. And the people yet they
admired him and they voted for him. But I want
to say that I believe if we were to pushed
(01:20:17):
the issues more, preachers, because I'm a minister at Church
of God in Christ, if we to have pushed people
to vote more, and especially our churches, I believe we
could have prevailed if they, if mastor would get the
saints and people to vote in their churches.
Speaker 12 (01:20:33):
That's that's why I say, what.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Did you do in your church regarding voting?
Speaker 29 (01:20:38):
I encourage everybody to vote. That's what I do. I
encourage the ones to vote. I mean, I'm voting. I
remember my sticker I promoted. I elaborate on it. That's
that's what I do.
Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
So how did you encourage them to do that? How
did you encourage How did you motivate him? How did
you encourage them? Because a lot of a lot of
the people that stayed home, they just simply were unmotivated.
They weren't moved to do anything one way or another.
Speaker 29 (01:21:06):
Uh, let them know what we're up again. You bring it,
I'm all about it. Points then to see how how
it is, how things are you talk about what's going on? Yeah,
and then as how you are the right person to
be in charge.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 29 (01:21:23):
You know, I'm just saying, all right, it's a different way.
That's the way I try to encourage about word by mouth.
Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
Yeah, that's issue. That's true. That's true.
Speaker 23 (01:21:33):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
And sometimes people don't talk about it until they start
to feel it. And unfortunately, uh, sadly, we're starting to
feel it more and more. And you know, that's a
good thing that people are acting on it. But hopefully
we can be proactive the next time instead of reactive
because it just it's just not it's not a good situation.
We have to stay on top of it. Thank you,
(01:21:54):
pastor appreciate your call.
Speaker 9 (01:21:55):
Thank you all right.
Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven four eight zero thirteen. Intent mister Frank, how are you?
Speaker 11 (01:22:02):
I'm your mister.
Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
Are you I'm doing well? I haven't talked to you
for a minute. You doing everything going okay?
Speaker 11 (01:22:10):
Yes, ma'am, it's going good.
Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (01:22:12):
Well, I mean the things that you've been talking about
on the on the program that uh that that most
of the stuff I just hear over and over and
over and over and over over. You know, most of
the uh complaints like that and uh that I already
know and I've said years and years ago. I don't
say the same and uh about everything that has been
(01:22:34):
coming across. But uh, I just I just like to
say that uh Ron had a good idea right there
about the town hall media going to the Republican parties
and uh with signs and uh and uh and letting
the crowd know who you are you know and uh
(01:22:54):
and then uh you uh and and what put Trump
in office was, which I've been knowing that for a
long time. Uh of when the election jumped off is
uh it's two things that put.
Speaker 29 (01:23:06):
Him in office, is uh.
Speaker 11 (01:23:10):
Uh immigration and an abortion. Those two things right there.
You'll be surprised to know what church people think because
they were looking at it. But but I'm gonna give
you some credit or what you said one time you said,
we'll not electing a pope priest re electing a crook.
Speaker 25 (01:23:36):
That one, okay, that was so good, pro profound when
you said that that that I just wondered sometime how
come you didn't get more feedback on that?
Speaker 40 (01:23:51):
And uh, because because these people look, well, well you
know my situation, because I gets angry or I don't
like to get angry.
Speaker 29 (01:24:04):
You know, I've been going to say.
Speaker 11 (01:24:06):
Something that is not appropriate right now.
Speaker 29 (01:24:08):
So thank you for your time in the day.
Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
All right, thank you, Frank. I appreciate it. But you
know what Frank said, something I want to add to it,
maybe push back on it just a little bit. Frank said,
the two things that got from Trump in office were
immigration and abortion. Immigration and abortion are the two things
that got Trump in office. Some might even say the
economy is what got Trump into office. But I'm going
(01:24:32):
to say the number one reason Trump got into office
is who he was running against, a black woman. This
country will not elect a woman, let alone a black woman.
So Trump had the perfect storm of no matter how
bad he was, no matter how convicted he was, no
matter what he did, well, anything's better than that black
(01:24:54):
woman up there. I don't know what she's gonna do.
She can't, she don't even know she's black or whiter.
She's with Biden too much, or she no, I'm gonna
go with Trump. And I would say this, and I'll
keep saying it. Anybody that says it was anything more
than that, I think they're fooling themselves. I think they're
fooling themselves. Now, y'all can talk me down, talk me
(01:25:16):
out the clip or whatever, but I will always to
this day believe that the number one reason Trump won
was because he was running against Kamala Harris. That is
the number one thing that put him into office, and
that's what would put him into office even today. All
of the pain that people are feeling right now and
he's only been there. You know, there's chaos, there's craziness,
(01:25:37):
there's all kinds of stuff. There's suspicion about the Epstein
files and everything else. But if we were to hold
that election again, right now, right now and put the
same people in place, who do you think America's gonna pick?
And I rest my case with that right there, because
you all know who America is gonna pick. Now, If
you put him up against maybe Biden or Gavin Newsom
(01:26:00):
or somebody you know, the guy in Kentucky, Andy Bursher
or what have you, might be. You know, one of
the men could possibly beat him, but not a black woman. No,
that's it. That's that. I mean, that's that's one. That's
one cliff I can't be talked off of. But yeah,
a lot of people do say, uh, immigration, they say abortion,
they say the economy, and all of those things probably
(01:26:21):
factored in. But on top of all of that, that
was just the the undercard. The top of the card
is Kamala Harris, and that was the main factor, according
to me, the way I see it. Uh three one
seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one seven four
eight zero thirteen ten. Let's go to Martha. How are you?
(01:26:42):
I'm trying, How are you doing well? Thank you?
Speaker 31 (01:26:46):
I agree with you on what you just said. I
definitely believe because it was the black woman that a
lot of people were, even our own people said on
voting for her, because all.
Speaker 24 (01:27:00):
I'm the biggest one.
Speaker 2 (01:27:01):
From giv Oh, she don't know nothing, she don't excuse me,
she can't handle anything. Yeah, she's yeah, you see back
where you don't. She's friends with the Obamas.
Speaker 41 (01:27:13):
Yeah, them a their jittery, And I'm gonna I'm gonna
take a different turn here.
Speaker 42 (01:27:25):
And I don't know if you're.
Speaker 31 (01:27:26):
Gonna agree with me or not, but I'm I'm not
gonna blame the Democratic Party.
Speaker 9 (01:27:33):
I'm not.
Speaker 24 (01:27:34):
It's too it's too.
Speaker 31 (01:27:35):
Late for us to say, well, the Democrats didn't do
that part. We don't agree that everything wasn't done perfectly
by what they could have done. But we as people,
not only black people, pour white people and a whole
lot of others who right now did not do didn't
(01:27:56):
get up and like we should as we were somebody
else who's gonna do it for us?
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Yeah, and you know, Martha, I would agree one thousand percent.
I mean, you know, and certainly the Democrats could have
been way better than what they were. But we have
to look at ourselves. What did we do or what
didn't we do? What didn't we do? Good? Point?
Speaker 43 (01:28:16):
Go ahead, people crying to me, white, black, Mexican because
I get a lot of people, but they're all crying
now because some of them did vote for him, didn't
vote And I'm might okay.
Speaker 31 (01:28:34):
All the ones I was talking to trying to encourage
y'all needing out vote.
Speaker 11 (01:28:37):
This is the reason.
Speaker 19 (01:28:38):
Mind.
Speaker 31 (01:28:38):
Somebody said, well I didn't know. I said, you can't.
You know?
Speaker 24 (01:28:42):
We had twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
Information was all over the place, written down, written down.
Speaker 31 (01:28:47):
Yeah, and I believe it. It is something that is
contrived because this started with stacking the Supreme Court. Maybe
even beyond.
Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
That, because yeah.
Speaker 24 (01:28:57):
With him is deeper than.
Speaker 37 (01:28:59):
What we know.
Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
Yep, Martha, that's why.
Speaker 31 (01:29:01):
They took him, be cause he's a willing participant. All
you gotta do is.
Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
Say him and he goes easy.
Speaker 31 (01:29:09):
That's he's going.
Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
Yeah, Yeah, we see it, Martha. We got to get
to this commercial break. But I sure do appreciate your
your comments and uh yeah, and I the fact that
we have to ask ourselves did we do everything we could?
What did we do or what didn't we do? Uh
in this particular past election. We'll be back with more
community connection. We got some safe fair and chickens to
give away too. Right after this.

Uh call her online one, go ahead, call yes, Hi,
how are you okay?
Speaker 38 (01:34:28):
I'd like to talent on why Trump got in. Uh,
it's on everything of what you said. And the one
gentleman that said that, I think he said a boy's
got it in that it's the church people. That's true
because it's one TV pass that comes on TV. And
(01:34:50):
he said that he's his advisor, truth advisor, if I'm
not mistaken. But I noticed he said he told him
kind of the against aboition. And this is a well
known TV evangelist that come on TV. And now I'm
wondering what he's thinking of all.
Speaker 23 (01:35:11):
The the dirt that's Trump doing.
Speaker 38 (01:35:13):
Once he used and to get in.
Speaker 2 (01:35:16):
Hmm, okay, So what I'm trying to follow what you
were saying then, So you're saying that, well, I I don't.
I don't disagree that abortion was was one of the
issues as far as white Trump understand.
Speaker 38 (01:35:30):
I agree with you too on about about it against
Colon and a back this didn't want a black woman
in there. I understand that.
Speaker 8 (01:35:39):
But I was just saying.
Speaker 38 (01:35:41):
That I don't. I don't know what the guy said
made me think of about this TV pastor how he
was telling his congregation and when he should have been
telling him the things that you know, the right all
about Trump himself, and he wasn't. He was just saying,
you don't want to vote against you don't want abortion.
(01:36:04):
But you know about Trump, about trump postonality, they knew
what he did and the first term that he was
in there, how he tells us that interrection on our
capital and all the other horrible stuff. And he was
encouraging his congregations to vote to Trump.
Speaker 2 (01:36:23):
Because I see what you're saying, Yeah, and you know what,
that's how we have to become more sophisticated as voters.
And I like the analogy that when when you make
a when you post an opening for a job. Right
when you post an opening for a job and you
list the qualifications one, two, three, four, five, so you
may list ten qualifications, you are not going to get
(01:36:48):
all ten of those qualifications. What you want is somebody
that can handle the majority of what I call a
Christmas wish list, because you know, like the little kids
that used to give out there, you know, hey, here's
my list to Santa Claus. You know, even as a
little kid, you start to catch on, then you're not
going to get everything on that list. The same with
political candidates. You will never get everything that you want
(01:37:11):
out of a particular person running for office and asking
for your vote and to represent you. But what you
have to do is you have to look at what
that person represents for you and the aggregate for you
over all. That's the way we have to learn how
to vote. Now, if somebody tells you a single mind. Now, granted,
if there's a candidate out there that says death to
(01:37:33):
all black people, death to all black people, death to
all black people in the United States of America, that's
a pretty strong statement, and that's all you're going to need.
But with so many different that's all you're gonna need
to say. No, I'm black people, I don't want somebody,
you know, proclaiming that I die. But if you are
looking to make an educated choice, and when I say educated,
(01:37:55):
find out you know the other things. And you may
not like this about that person, may not like that,
But overall, is this the best person that's going to
represent your interest is what this person stands for going
to represent the most of your interests, then that's the
person you should vote for. If there's one, you know,
and perhaps maybe abortion is that congregations, that's what they
(01:38:17):
maybe that's what they live for. Anti abortion, that okay,
but that's not for you know, for Trump, I don't
really feel like he. I don't even know. I can't
even recall if he campaigned on pro or anti I
don't remember. He was all over, he flip flopped, he
was all over the all over the place. But if
(01:38:39):
you don't vote for Kamala Harris because she's pro choice,
but she wants to preserve Medicaid, she wants to preserve Medicare.
She wants to put more people to work, you know,
she wants to you know, do X, Y and Z.
There's not that much, you know, Okay, I can take
this and I can take that. So the same way
that somebody is trying to get a job with you,
(01:39:02):
and that's what you're elected representatives are. They're out there
auditioning for a job with you, to be your representative.
You're not going to get at all. Think about it
that way, and so that's you know, pardon.
Speaker 8 (01:39:19):
I said, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (01:39:20):
Yeah, yeah, So I mean, and if you do key
in on one of these sub whatever sub areas or
sub factors, if you do key in on that, maybe
you're looking to justify Oh well I don't like this,
so therefore I'm not going to vote for that person. Okay.
But if you're really looking to make your vote count
and looking to get somebody to represent you and your interest,
you got to look at that candidate as a whole.
(01:39:42):
And I don't think enough people did that with Donald.
If they did, they just don't mind. I guess if
you call somebody to come and work on your house,
come on in your house and stay there for a
couple of days to fix your plumbing. But they're a
thirty four account convicted felon, well that's okay, Yeah, they
can come on in. That's kind of what I'm Erica said.
That's okay, yeah, uh, you know, declared civilly litigated, civilly
(01:40:07):
declared sex offender. Yeah, that's okay. Yeah, that's okay. So yeah,
so there there, it is. There, it is so anyway,
but I do appreciate your call and thank you for
that that heads up. I did not see that. Who
that pastor was I didn't hear. But that's you know,
that's something we have to do better with as voters, ourselves,
(01:40:28):
as voting blocks, because nobody ever gets everything that they want.
Three one seven four eight zero thirteen ten three one
seven for eight zero thirteen ten. We have a winner
for the Indiana State Fair tickets. A winner with the
Indiana State Fair tickets. She is Sandra want Banks, Sandra Watt.
(01:40:52):
But she was at work and couldn't sell the phone. Yeah,
work and entering contest, not contest, but just calling in
to try to win a certain contests. That's that's amazing.
A couple of you who were on hold, I think
the system bumped you off when everybody started calling in.
I think the phone lines got overwhelmed.
Speaker 3 (01:41:09):
So that's been happening since we did this contest, people
have been getting kicked off the line.
Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
They Yeah, how does that happen? I mean, yeah, out
of my control.
Speaker 3 (01:41:16):
I guess when they called through, it pushes them out.
Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
Huh, it just pushes one.
Speaker 3 (01:41:20):
We get more than okay, we got six lines. We
get more than six calls at one time. I've noticed
it all this week since we're doing the giveaway. If
we have somebody in hold, they their calls get kicked
off unless they're on the air. I see Anonymous was
on the air with you. Yeah, so that's the only
one that didn't get kicked off.
Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
Yeah. Well, if you were on the air just a
few minutes ago and waiting to come on, we can
take your call. Three one seven, four eight zero thirteen ten.
Three one seven, four, eight, zero thirteen ten is our number.
So so far today we have given away reserve seats
a set of reserve seats to the Gospel Music Festival
(01:41:57):
at the Indiana State Fair on Sunday, August. We've also
given away a family four a pack of tickets to
the Indiana State Fair. A family four pack of tickets
to the Indiana State Fair. So we will do this
again tomorrow. We'll do it again tomorrow and give everybody
a chance to win as well. Tomorrow. We may even
do it twice. I don't know. I have to check
(01:42:18):
our computer system and see how many more we have left,
and maybe we can do it twice. Let's go back
to the phone lines, Marvin. I think you might have
been one who got bumped off by our computer system,
computers or something else. I tell you. Yeah, so our.
Speaker 12 (01:42:34):
Feelings was very They don't want to talk to me.
Speaker 2 (01:42:37):
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's not it
at all. Sometimes, you know, the computer will take our show.
If we don't get off in time, the computer will
just take it. So that's why we have to kind
of rush before we get to get blown out. But anyway,
go ahead.
Speaker 12 (01:42:50):
How are you I understand, I understand.
Speaker 15 (01:42:53):
No.
Speaker 42 (01:42:53):
My thing is, you know, it might not be popular,
but none the government is going to work for the
people for a long time.
Speaker 12 (01:43:03):
There's books has been written that.
Speaker 42 (01:43:05):
A few people, a few of the rich people have
always struggle to take the power from the people. There's
a couple of books written consent consent of the people,
government consent.
Speaker 12 (01:43:22):
I don't really have there.
Speaker 42 (01:43:24):
Books are out there proving that democrat or republic neither
one of them is going.
Speaker 9 (01:43:29):
To work for the people.
Speaker 42 (01:43:30):
It's gonna be a few people that get what they need.
But for the most part, I don't want to say
the our words the racist were, but we know that's
that's in play. And also rich people. That's why we
see that the rich people are are hurting their own people.
Speaker 46 (01:43:50):
Now, people in power, we won't never want to really
follow them out, but everybody that's not a part of
that of that clique is going to get hurt.
Speaker 42 (01:44:02):
Because the government is struggling. The people of the government
is struggling to set precedents that the people have no power.
Speaker 12 (01:44:10):
They don't work for us anymore. You know, they're not
employed by us.
Speaker 29 (01:44:14):
But you have to ask.
Speaker 12 (01:44:16):
Where do they get their consent from?
Speaker 42 (01:44:18):
We pay them, Why do they tell us what they're
going to do instead of.
Speaker 12 (01:44:22):
Us telling them what we want them to do. We
lost power. And another thing I just wanted to push
back on.
Speaker 29 (01:44:29):
That prosecutor that was on there yesterday.
Speaker 42 (01:44:33):
He said that young people, when they get guns in
their hands, they become foolish thinking that anybody said, anybody
that get a gun will lose their you know, the
ability to think consciously, you know, soberly and critically, you know, right,
(01:44:59):
they just go when you get that power in your hands.
So well, my question is, why don't I looked at
the statistics a gun by the statistic here in Indiana,
we're eighty seven percent of the victims and the perpetrators
the black race, so called black race. But why don't
the young white men they have privilege.
Speaker 12 (01:45:21):
To the same gun cherry. They can carry guns.
Speaker 42 (01:45:26):
Why don't they have you know, why aren't they shooting
each other up and stuff like that?
Speaker 12 (01:45:31):
That's a question.
Speaker 2 (01:45:32):
Well, white younger white men especially tend to be almost
the entire population of mass shooters in the country. They'll
go into schools, shopping malls, concerts, grocery stores, things of
that nature, with guns, and they share their aggression that way.
(01:45:55):
And I mean, I think the stats are undeniable that
the largest percentage of mass shooters are white males.
Speaker 24 (01:46:03):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
And so why you know, but does anybody you know,
people can question why these white males are shooting up society?
Speaker 12 (01:46:10):
Subject? Change the subject?
Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
And I didn't change the subject. I didn't change the subject.
You were saying, how come we you know, we're turning?
You know, why is it that? What was your question again,
because I think I just answered it.
Speaker 12 (01:46:22):
Okay, I agree with what you said. They that the
white young white males, but.
Speaker 2 (01:46:29):
I'm just saying that, you know, we can't just say
it's just black people. White people have White people have
their issues with guns too. It's just not the same
as the black people's issues with gun But you know,
there's still issues, and we can't just say it's just
black people. It's just us out here behaving recklessly with
guns when we feel strong emotions because they you know,
(01:46:50):
somebody might have told them they couldn't have kindergarten recess,
and they'll carry that all the way up until they
decide to go into school and shoot everybody. I mean,
you know that we wasn't.
Speaker 42 (01:47:00):
Talking about school shootings yesterday. The prosecutor was talked about
changing the gun laws to make sure because of the
violence that's been happening.
Speaker 12 (01:47:10):
And I looked on the Indiana statistics.
Speaker 42 (01:47:13):
And we are eighty like I said, we're eighty seven
percent perpetrators and victims.
Speaker 12 (01:47:21):
And to change the gun laws.
Speaker 42 (01:47:25):
You know, when you go down just saying just here
in Indiana or whatever, you go downtown to some of
the festivals or whatever has happening. You don't hear about
white people shooting no white people.
Speaker 15 (01:47:35):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:47:35):
I just told you where you do hear about it, though,
And that's a whole other book and a whole other
set of statistics. So I mean, I don't think that
one negates the other. Gun laws need to be common sense.
Gun laws need to be implemented in our state and
federal you know, lawmakers or legislations, legislation.
Speaker 12 (01:47:54):
What would the gun laws be, though, Well.
Speaker 2 (01:47:56):
Something as simple as okain. Let me give you an example.
Mark a couple of weeks ago, I went to get
a to pick up a prescription that my doctor had
sent in with me. And it's not like just going
through the window and they say, hey, I want to
pick up a prescription for Tina Cosby. I couldn't just
do that. May I see your ID? Please? Okay? Can
(01:48:18):
I see your ID? Okay? I need for you to
sign right here. Something as simple as that, maybe raising
the age to twenty one and then having to show ID.
Something that simple can't get through. That's what I'm talking about.
That's what we're talking about. And that would white, black, whatever?
Could the color? Something as simple as that. And when
I got my prescription. I said, boy, I wish we
(01:48:41):
had laws. I wish we were this scriptive if I
was trying to buy a gun. And the pharmacists laughed,
and she said, yeah, that does make a point. I
didn't really care about it. I don't have anything to hide.
I'm not drugging or doping or anything out there. But
I'm just saying the wall of resistance that was legislated, Marvin,
that was a law passed right here in the state
of Indiana. Why can't they do it with guns. You're
(01:49:02):
not taking away anybody's rights, You're not harming anybody. All
you're saying is you want to be more responsible with firearms.
Speaker 12 (01:49:10):
That's it. Let's just look at history. Why do you
say they want to do it?
Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
What do you what do you mean look at history?
Why do you say the gun lobby they get on
friends and hyper and money. That's why they won't do it.
That's why they won't touch it. They'll they'll they'll mess
with cigarettes and and tax them to no end because
cigarettes are bad for either bad for your health. They'll
drugs they don't want you buying, Like if you go
to the Dollar General or or somewhere else and get
(01:49:37):
some I don't know, suit of fed or whatever. It's
got that.
Speaker 9 (01:49:41):
Us off the point.
Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
What is the point?
Speaker 12 (01:49:45):
The point is.
Speaker 42 (01:49:46):
That young the young, if you're under age, you can't
buy a gun anyway, and then why.
Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
Not raise it. Why not raise it to where you're
a little bit more responsible. Okay, yeah, so tell me
your point.
Speaker 42 (01:50:02):
My point is I just don't want to take the
guns away from the people who might be able to
form a who might have to form.
Speaker 12 (01:50:09):
A militia against white supremacy.
Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
Yeah. I don't think that's the point. He wasn't saying that.
He wasn't saying that.
Speaker 42 (01:50:17):
Okay, Okay, maybe he wasn't. But that's my point is
we can't do anything because you know that has been
the thing in the past when we first started trying
to defend ourselves out of eighteen sixty five and the
gym clogs, we had to have certain guns, they single
shot shotguns. And then the thing is, we do know
(01:50:40):
for a fact that they don't want us to defend ourselves.
Look at the thing that happened in Cincinnati just.
Speaker 7 (01:50:47):
Here.
Speaker 12 (01:50:48):
They don't want us to defend ourselves.
Speaker 2 (01:50:50):
Yeah, because the militias are formed and you don't want
to not be able to defend yourself in a militia.
That's why you and your sixteen year old need assault
weapons that are used in wars. Weapons. Yeah, no, there's
no bad you know there. The crime was down when
the United States had a ban on assault weapons. And
now you know, the crime isn't.
Speaker 12 (01:51:11):
Down because the police are still.
Speaker 42 (01:51:13):
The guys with the power with the guns who are
misusing their power.
Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
Police are outmanned on the streets. They don't have the
guns that the streets have. The police don't. The police
don't they're they're facing that slave catchers.
Speaker 12 (01:51:27):
They are still against our raid. The police is for
the white press.
Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
Be that as it made. Let's get back to the
point of guns and common sense gun regulation. Back to
the point common sense gun regulation. And you're saying, don't
take away the guns because we may have to defend
ourselves against the militia.
Speaker 42 (01:51:45):
Uh, and the militia. We are against the militia. They
are against us right now. The white suppremists run the
country right now. And it's not according to a Republican
or Democrat, it's the government.
Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
Okay, Well, do Marvin do me if they do a
world search and find out why why We are the
only country on this planet that has an average of
three guns per individual and that has the rate of
mass suicides, the number of shootings, the you know, it's
it's a six sick gun loving society that is totally unregulated,
(01:52:23):
totally unregulated. It could be simpler, It could be so
much simple.
Speaker 12 (01:52:26):
You could be simple.
Speaker 42 (01:52:29):
But what I'm saying is who gave them, who gave
the government authority to rule over sovereign citizens in this land?
That we will We are the people who were here first.
The international law there, if you're occupy in the country,
you cannot take sovereignty and force them to assimilate into
your judici.
Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
Okay, I'll let that be the I'll let that be
the last point because the music's on and we got
to get out of here. But I do appreciate your call.
Thank you very much, thank you, Okay, And that's all
the time we have for now for community connection. Didn't
get to everything, but we hate Tomorrow's another day and
we will be back tomorrow and catch up a little
bit more. Willimore Junior on the radio, He's up next
until then until tomorrow. Willy Moore is next right now
(01:53:13):
until tomorrow. I'm Tina Cosby in this is community Connection,
