This week, join us for a special episode of Hope, with Whitney Austin.

On September 6th, 2018, Whitney Austin walked into the Fifth Third Bank headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was shot 12 times. Grateful to be alive, she turned what could have been a tragedy into hope, creating the Whitney Strong Foundation and committing her life to campaign for better laws to end gun violence.

This episode for us, is personal. On April 10, 2023, a mass shooting occurred at the Old National Bank in Louisville, Kentucky - our community and home. The shooting has profoundly impacted our community, sense of security, and hope. As a podcast devoted to sharing our life flights to help others, we wanted to do something to help our community and those struggling with hope in the face of tragedy. So we invited Whitney Strong to join us on the show to share her story as a victim of gun violence and how it has spurred her to fight for better gun reform - filling her with hope for a better future.

Listen as we share how to find common ground to prevent gun violence and build collective community hope.

What is 'Hope'? Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large.
