How do we take our harder experiences in life and all the knowledge that comes with it, and turn them into opportunities to build connections and support our flock?
This week, we talk to the inspiring and unshakeable Sylvia Quaye about how her beginnings as a Ghanaian immigrant inspired her to help underserved communities. After moving to America in her 20s as a newlywed, Sylvia had to build a new life while figuring out her identity as a married woman and soon-to-be mother. Yet, without a community or family around her, she had to find the strength within her to turn her adversity into inspiration, using her law degree and her experiences to help others in need.
Sylvia is a woman who is pure in using her puissance for good, embracing her connections, and supporting others. Listen as we discuss the importance of connections with others; leading with compassion; using our influence and puissance for good, and exploring how our connections in life reveal deeper parts to ourselves.
What is 'Puissant'?
Having puissance is to have power and influence. Power is the ability to accomplish something. When power is used in a positive way it can initiate, influence and generate change. It is a positive virtue, and one when used well can create positive change for others.
