Speaker 1 (00:18):
Few week takes, but we do have Marcus Barzana. The

Everything tried to stop him. But he's still here and
he's on the show. We're in different spots, but we

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Mate, well I'm here. I basically my love for the

sixty dollars uber into the city. Yeah, so honestly looking, yeah,
I'm not doing that fair play, but trains were canceling
on me for an hour. But we're here. We've finally
made it. Let's let's get the show cracking.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yeah absolutely, Yeah, the show will always go ahead. Don't
worry about that. Feel every play as well and be
right in the action throughout a massive Ozzie Summer of
cricket with Tab Touch, Big Show awesome show. Actually, the
Australian General just dominated over the weekend in cricket. The
men's team one, then within minutes sorry, the women's team one,
then within minutes the men's team one, both by an innings.
We just absolutely smashed it on the way, like you
(01:10):
can't get better cricket than that. That was unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I think I think they actually calculated it and it
was a minute a minute and twenty seconds between both things,
which is eazy to think about. In a they were
both playing test matches and on it can end on
day three, Day four, day five, just crazy even like
each sessions like, oh, that's a bit of a coincidence
considering ones in Australia and ones in Sri Lanka. But
(01:35):
it was perfect.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I'll touch on that being on at the same time.
I've got a few thoughts about that, but so did
the listen here in a speech, we're gonna go through
thee those both of those matches, the biggest talking point
two played well, some big questions surrounding selection and things
like that, and as always the fan comments and questions
you've put them in there.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I haven't even looked at them today.

We're doing a long single.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
On semi on Leo's side with the quick.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
But I know you guys aren't as bigger fans of album,
but we'll still make it decently quick, decently quick, But
we've got a few things.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
To talk about.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
You just mentioned that both the men's and women's Aussie
Test teams one within minutes of each other, and both
were buying innings and a lot of runs. Like the
dominance of Australia over the wickn was absolutely awesome. I've
got a quick question for you in this sort of
quick single. The poor scheduling. I'm not a fan of
having them at the same time. So you got Australia
was on Channel seven, You've got the women's see them
on seven mate. If you had them at different times,
(03:22):
you knew that Australia would be playing around two thirty
to ten pm because Sin Sri Lanka, and then they
had the day night Test, which is the exact same
time in Australia. So I don't know what do you
reckon about that. If they could have scheduled a little
bit better, I reckon they would have got better crowds
and better viewers on TV.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, no, I agree. I think they definitely could have
scheduled it better. I think the Australia Women's ashes Test
at the MCG Day Night Test matches prime viewing. They
should have got the channel nine slot channel seven, so yeah,
I agree slot yeah, and have the Aussies on against
Sri Lanka on seven mate, which they prioritize the chase
(04:00):
on channel seven over they said, the chase came on
TV and they said, all right, if you want to
continue watching the cricket, go to seven mate or get stuffed.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Like what the talking about, like fight everyone, We're gonna
put the chase on, like.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Chase them out of the studio to get back on
channel channel seven. That's ridiculous. Oh that was. But there
were stages where both games were having their lunch break
at the same time and even just their little stuff
like that. It was like, whilst like save one viewers
prioritizing Australia a Shrilanka the men's cricket, right if that
(04:39):
was lunch break, oh yeah, the women's are playing, was
chuck them on for half an hour an hour and
like when it's tea as well so or vice versa.
So definitely could have been scheduled and handled better.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah. I just didn't rate that at all.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Like the people that are going to watch most of
the people that are going to watch the women obviously
probably got more women watching the women's but overall we
love both cricket as well, so like I would want
to watch him at different times. I would want to
watch the men's and then oh, when there's no cricket on,
then there's the women's, or I want to watch the
women's and then there's no cricket on to watch the men.
So annoying they're on the same time, I reckon, but
at least we both got to win and ended up
pretty well. Talking about both the men's and the women's.
(05:16):
Alyssa Healy obviously power couple with Mitchell Stark. They both
played in their two hundred and eighty seventh international match
at the same time. How crazy is that? So they've
played that many matches for Australia, both Ozzie legends, and
they're yeah doing it for their country.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Yeah, well they haven't sped a little bit of time
apart right now, I'm not sure how to cope. But
that is a bit of a coincidence, isn't that.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Yeah, that was a bit of a weird one. And
then yeah, touching on just all things cricket. Next one
I want to touch on is Michael Bevin inducted into
the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. Now he's probably a
bit before our time, but obviously an absolute legend, one
of the best ODII cricketers ever. He had forty six
fifties average of fifty four.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
It was the original finisher.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
He had some awesome finishes against the West Indings sorry
West Indies, absolutely awesome against them.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Was just just so clutch in ODI cricket.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Was really got in Test cricket as well, did bowl
a little bit, but his main work was in ODIO cricket.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Is a legend.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, one of my favorite, one of my favorite cricketing
memories slash highlights. I remember watching like we've got a
DVD at home called I think it was a Summer
of Cricket or something like that, right, and it shows
like the best clips from like probably like Jeff Thompson, DK,
Lily Days, yep, up until early two thousands. Yeah, and
(06:32):
Michael Bevan was on there hitting a four straight down
the ground last all the game win, Yeah, to win
the game, and it's the Windy's I believe it was.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, I it was because they were obviously the powerhouse
of cricket. And then he's been him on the last ball.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, yeah, but I have a trivia question for you,
Stat's guy. Well, do you know who the first ever
Australian to be inducted into the Hall of Fame was?
Speaker 1 (06:56):
No, I don't think I do, mate, Like I haven't
looked at the archives that far back, probably from.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
The eighteen hundred.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
That's fake cricket knowledge. He's a fake fan. He should
he should know this that he does know this, because
we spoke about this ten minutes now. Jack Blackham inducted
in ninety ninety six with a bunch of other older players,
including Bradman and Ponsford. Yeah. Funnily enough, DK Lilly was
the only modern player to be inducted in that year.
(07:24):
Yeah right, But he was the earliest to play for
Australia and he played thirty five matches at an batting
average of fifteen.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Wait, surely he's had a bit of a ball if
he's only he's a keeper.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
He's a keeper. Took thirty seven catches I think, in
twenty odd stumpings in forty five games. But batting average
of fifteen get gets you into the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
I was going to say he plays in the seventies,
but that is the eighteen seventies.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Yeah, for his career eighteen seventy seven to the eighteen nineties,
he would have been playing in this era behind me. Yes,
that's eighteen seven five or just just before his time.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Oh my god, that is that is so surely out
of any Hall of fame in cricket in general in
the world.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
He has the least batting average of batters.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
As Yeah, look that's pretty low. I'm not going to lie.
But apparently he was a bit of a Michael Bevan type.
He was. It came when it came to the crucial
moments of the game. He was there. He's standing delivered.
He also captain Australia I think for a few games.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
There you go, so I'll get around. They're also using
a plank of water as a bat that there was.
He would have done three jobs as well as played
for Australia.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
He does have some of the best facial hair I've
ever seen.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
We might have to get a photo of of that. Actually,
photo of Jack Blackham up. I reckon but that in
the show.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
All right.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I did not think we're going to get a Jack
Blackham reference.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
But there you go.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
What a legend eighteen seventy career started. Absolutely love that.
All right, that's the quick single that wasn't so quick.
Let's get into the Sri Lanka versus Australia men's First
Test talking points. Obviously Australia we already touched on, absolutely
dominated one by an innings and two hundred and forty
two runs. Absolutely embarrassing for Schlanka. Their biggest loss in
their test history. So I saw some pop up before
(09:08):
saying it was their biggest loss at home, which obviously,
but then it was also their biggest loss in just
history because they lost.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
They've never lost by that much at home.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I think the biggest loss in test history is damage
enough just to go on and say the biggest loss
at home as well. Yeah, like.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
That is an absolute smoking like jeeszu. Australia just awesome.
We talked about last show. Australia had three hundreds in
the first innings, obviously didn't have to bat again. The
only batsman to miss out was Marnus. I feel like
he'd be kicking himself. All the other batsmen made like
forty six plus or one hundred plus and then Martus
got twenty sort of poked at one yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Poked it one. It was. It was good catch. But
I was expecting more Schlankia because they've actually been like
fairly decent recently in their recent run of form, Like
they played New Zealand. I know it was twenty twenty
o the eyes, but they beat him in a couple
of fives. Yeah, they were. They were pretty decent against
half decent against South Africa except for the one inning
so they got boiled out for the forty odd. But
(10:07):
they've been all right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
They have until this t like they I had looked
eight of their last thirteen matches in goal they've won.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
But they were like they looked like it was like
it looked like it.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Was the juniors against the like men's the Australian men's team.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
That's what That's what I felt like they were.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
They were horrible. Their game plans were all off. They
were playing negative cricket, not aggressive enough. The only one
that can sort of hold his hold his head high
in the first innings was Chandam. He had seventy two.
Yeah that was that was a really good effort. But
no one else in their first innings made twenty two.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Fun fact, channing them out got given out twice in
the same innings.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yes, he went out twice in the same session, so yeah,
the same session, not in the same session, the.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Morning session he went out, then they had to go
back into bat and he got out again.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
That's not imagine gave out twice in one day. That's brutal.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah, mindo, mends was a little bit poor for me.
He is up there and the best bad seventh currently
in the world in the Test ranking for batting, so
he wasn't too great and Marnas just keeps dropping.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, yeah, he's keep what's he what's he down to?
Speaker 1 (11:17):
In the ranking twelve twelve smudge Smudge went up, Yeah,
what's he up to?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Smudge went up to eight. Yep, you've got Travels seven
five as well.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I deserved.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Yeah, so we talked about how bad as the other day.
Just dominate obviously he got the two hundred and thirty.
Smith got one hundred, English got one hundred and he's
like his Test cricket things easy, just just rock up
and make a hundred, buddy.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
The bowling throw down. So it does come pretty pretty fine.
But yeah, he battered really well though for a few
guy using his feet everywhere to get a hundred. Yeah,
John Bradman at your heart out.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Oh he's comparing. You heard it first, he's comparing. He's
got nothing nothing on Jack Jack Blackham though.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah, Jack Blackham Man. Uh, the other one.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
We're gonna talk about the bowlers on the other side. Obviously,
we thought spin would dominate Coonerman. He had a broken
finger two weeks ago. They said, oh, look we might
have to rest him at least for the first Test.
He gets nine wickets for the match. He had a
five for in the first innings, then he had a
four for in the second innings.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Shared it.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
I think that mine out of four for in the
second innings. But Conerman was the man.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Yeah, it was. It was a it was a it
was a cheeky five because there were a few tail enders. Yeah,
but still, that's that's incredible. We had had a broken thumb,
as you mentioned, and I think he's taken two Test
career fives in almost as many games, so he hasn't
played it against Australia, but he's like.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
He's got two five ers and a four for obviously
in four matches. So that's that's plenty awesome.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
He's pretty good reading.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Eighteen wickets in four matches awesome, so very good. Yeah,
do you reckon in the future he could play like
more in Australia. Maybe what when Line's done or is
that still maybe Todd Murphy's role in Australia because it
suits the conditions a bit better and is just an
Asia player.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I feel like at the moment you'd have to go
with Conerman. Yeah, yeah, because Tom Tom. I was expecting
a lot more from Todd Murphy. There are three spinners,
they got to share the load and whatever. But just
just seeing his bowling, he bowbled fantastic and a lot
better than Todd did in my opinion.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, Murphy had well.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Murphy only got six overs in the first innings because
the other two Lion and Coonerman combined for eight wickets
and even Stark got a couple of wickets so he
didn't have to bowl that much. Second innings Murphy had
one for fifty seven. He had the highest economy as well,
so that was a little bit of a worry. I
think Leo mentioned it on the other show that he's
more like it, likes a bit of bounce, sort of
like Nathan Lyon, so he's probably better in Australian conditions.
(13:42):
But he has got wickets over in India sorry was
a Pakistan India.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
That's right, So he can do it.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
So we'll see how you go. He'll probably play the
next Test.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
And yeah, I think all three all three spinners.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah, yeah, you got to play spinners that pace balls,
don't even we need to do anything, just a few,
just a few overs to warm it up and then
then get gone. All right that's the Yeslank of Us
Australia talking points. We just absolutely smoked him. I still
don't believe we scored six hundred and fifty four and
like that's like video game.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
I can do that on Cricket Live.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
What I used to play Cricket Live thousand and five
on Piers two, I reckon get six hundred.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yeah, that's unreal. Like Ricky Ponting Cricket the game.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Cricket game actually with the they couldn't legally say the
right names of the players Blue Ricky, Ricky Punter or
Ricky Ponting was allowed because it was owned by him.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yeah yeah, but there were there were there were some good.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Names there, Hey done or something like that.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah, yeah, it was pretty funny. But I remember back
back in the day PlayStation two Saturday morning when Scooby
Doos on the TV. That was like that was prime,
take me back prime existence.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah, maybe we should get a pissed We was all
live stream of cricket, cricket on PlayStation.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Two, play cricket twenty four whatever the latest version is.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Let's just play PlayStation two.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
You one's not as good. All right, that's enough going
on a random tangent there. Let's get into the women's ashes.
Australia versus England. Some talking points here. Obviously Australia just
dominated as well.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
We just get to talk talk us Australia. It's great.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
I think in the past have gone oh this is
about Australia. We want to change this to that. No,
don't change anything. We just first ever ashes, clean, clean
sweep in the women's ashes, sixteen zero in the points
won every single match. England, Why do you even come
down here if you're not even going to put up
a fight.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
What the hell?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Players came through a nice holiday, as Daniel Hornes likes
to say shared over the Australian Open tennis when she
went on her run. Yeah, I'm struggling to see any
moral victories here for England. Oh maybe they got to
clean They kept a clean sheet. That's that's their moral victory.
What do you mean because there was sixteen zero in
the points they kept the clean sheet? Oh I know
(15:57):
they didn't. They concede the sixteen Never mind, what are
you talking.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
About the other way? Yeah, Australia was the six things
are Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Look, I don't think many more victories will come out
of this. But how good was Alana King through the
Test match? In particular? She was good throughout the whole series.
She got awarded Player of the Player of the Series
and twenty three wickets throughout the two five as I believe,
yeah four for yeah, so good.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
She was spinning it a mile like it would pitch
outside leg and then it'd be like this, it'd hit
the top of off. I'm like, that is literally it's
the best. I'm not because obviously the best ever leg
spinner shanmee War. That's the best leg spinner Australia have
had in general, shamee War because we haven't really had
legs spinn spinners dominate. I feel like Australia just loves
leg spinners. Since the start of warning. Everyone's like, oh,
(16:43):
we love seeing a ball turn that way and see
it's been a mile because if you're a good legs spinner,
you're going to turn it more most of the time
than offices yep. And it's just I think it's more
fun to watch when they're just bowling like Leggis and
then yeah, bowling people out.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
So Alana King is just she's a beast.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Because it's harder to do bowling the spine and she's
the first woman to be I think she might be
the first woman to be on the school board at
the MCGA taking a fifer yep, along with Annabelle Sutherland
who was the first as a woman to be on
that famous on board on a board for centuries at
(17:22):
the g making one hundred and sixty three. She got
the fire of the match.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
She's a freak. She's still so young.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
She's that whole Subtlen family because I think we will
eventually play for Australia.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
But she is just an absolute start. I just want
to check out.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
She's only twenty three and she's probably Australia's because she
can bowl as well.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
She probably Austraia's best player. Almost.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
I'm now a year older than a depressing.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
How many hundreds of you mate?
Speaker 3 (17:46):
It depends one hundred beers or one hundred runs?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Yeah, anything, one hundred.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Yeah, I've had some pretty good efforts at the MCG
as well, had a three day slog of anyways, back
on the track. She she broke the record for the
most sixers one Aussie women's Test player with four six
the G at the G as well the biggest ground.
Yeah at the G as well. The previous record was three.
(18:17):
I can't remember who that was by it, but that's
all right. Yeah, she broke that record.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
She's awesome. Best moon.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
He also got one hundred, so she would. She might
be kicking herself because she's the second woman on the
on the boards time, but you'd just be awesome to
be on that.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
She is the first Aussie women's player to get a
century in all three formats. Yes, I was that.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
She had to say, remember.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
There's that going for her? I think only I think
it was only four or five women's players have done
it in history. She's the first Australian yep, so.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Yeah, that's awesome getting one hundred.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Nor foremance, especially when they only play like one test
a year or most of the time like one test
or two tests a year. The fact that she's got
it in all formats, she's an absolute legend. Like the
amount of records that Australian open this weekend.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
It's awesome, No, one hundred percent, and it's it's even
sweet to do it against eng one.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Yeah, the last one you wrote about here, Eckleton got
a little stat there.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
We love that, a little old victory.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, you got you can say everyone Eckleston.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Sophie Euston broke the record for the most runs conceded
in an innings by in England's women's player. Oh my god,
in test matches. Obviously she got hit for one hundred
and forty three runs in Australia's batting innings. But she
did go on to take five for that.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
She got a fire fight. And she's the first England
woman to be on the honor boards. We're just we're
getting at least at least she's on the.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Honor bard on the board. But I didn't I think
she did take like all the three or the four
of the tail. I thinkyeah, I think for all three
of the tail who got out for like zero three.
Z'll take I'll take a five for no matter who
it's against.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Exactly it was five or four hundred, you'd take it
at the g get your on the board. Yeah, I
saw she was really good throughout the whole series. I
had a look at all the fans. I saw a
post about her going the fact, I need to check
our old she she's really young and she's like carrying
this English team.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
It's not the bowling that's the problem. They're bad.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Some of the shots that were playing England. Oh my god,
just put away this slog or block a good ball like.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Well, she's twenty five. Just quickly agree with that. And
to be fair, she did break her own record of Yeah,
she also held the previous record of one hundred and
twenty nine.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Jesus wow.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
But yeah, it was a grim series for England.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Oh question marks Yeah, absolutely awesome effort by the Aussie
is just as we've said before, the talent coming through
every single year for Australian women's cricket is just unbelievable.
I'm still saying that they're the best. I think they're
the best ever Aussie and most ever consistent Oussie sporting team.
Just In general, so that we could we could even
do a little short about that, but they're just so good.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah yeah, yeah, I'd say probably yeah. The best sporting
team in history, no matter what sport in history. Yeah,
code Yeah, women's cricket team win everything.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Yep, good call. All right, let's continue on with the show.
Before we get back into all things Ozsie Cricket, make
sure to check out tab Touch for their sports markets
which cover every cricket match this season. Got the touch
download tab Touch today. I think is this a bit
you really want to place for free and confidential support
called one eight hundred and eight five eight eight five
eight or visit Gambling Help online dot org dot au.
(21:23):
All right, we've talked about the men's match, We've talked
about the women's match. I've got some big questions. I'll
put them to you and then we can discuss them
if you want. Marcus, it's a couple for the men's
series over in Sri Lanka, still over in Gaul, which
is funny because both of the matches are in goal,
which is a bit weird, but they're not playing anywhere
else for the Test matches. First one is should the
men's Aussie side change the team at all for the
next Test. So I think before this series you were
(21:45):
saying about should we change it up, get some young
guys in, Like it doesn't mean as much, especially after
we smashed them, mightn't mind a few changes.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
What do you reckon?
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Absolutely make a few changes one hundred percent. If there
are no changes, me and Leo will write, were right
with you, Right with us, because I think in the
batting they're just just to give players like McSweeney I
think deserves to come back in because I feel like
he was dropped a little prematurely. Although we brought Constance in,
(22:14):
he was also dropped, which we don't We didn't disagree with,
but we do say if he's at least coming coming
on the tour, he should get a game, because throughout
the Australia India series he was he was alright. Give
him some good Aeris.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
I feel like as well, even though he's not the
best against spin, because he likes opening up against the
hard ball. This is giving some experience and if they
bowl like they do last Test, he could get a
bit of confidence up with like a fifty or something,
so that'd be cool.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
McSween, he took a good catch as well in the
as a subfielder, and even Mitch Stark as well. Arrest,
give him arrest and give Sean have it again. Like
he's been been twelve He's been twelfth man for eternity.
I think he's in every He's in every gords in
Australian scored.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
He's really good to make in the cordials and the
gator ads. I'm telling you he's really, really good. He
must be Steve Smith's pads. He's He's very good in
the in the rooms.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
He must be. He must be a good vibes man.
M Yeah, he's he's been twelve thirty man for a
very very long time.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah he is.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
I feel for him, but not as much as your man,
Mike Andesa. Oh on the other side, maybe when.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
We go to England eventually.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
I don't know. He's always he's always too injured. Let's
have a look. Is he was he in the Sean
Abbott was in the squad, So.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Okay, I don't think they're going to give him a game.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
It's basically him and Stark are the only in bowling.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Sorry, they could play bowling next tests. Keep the spinners.
And then you're saying change the batting on it? Are
you saying McSweeney and constantin.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, yep, m bring McSweeney and constans in. You could
probably give trap Head harassed want it? But yeah, we
could give trap Head arrest just to accommodate some people
and probably drop Marnus or yeah, give him a rest.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Him, Yeah, the rest, even though you might drop Hi.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Also also the luxury luxury of Carey
as well, because English is in the team and he's
a keeper, so he could also have a rest if
you wanted to. True, I reckon, just experiment.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Just why I like?
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I like that, especially we're already in the championship. Finally,
don't worry about it. Next one of the big question
we already touched on a little bit. But I saw
Brad Hadden on one of his podcasts said Concerts should
just come home and play state cricket. He should just
come home, So should Constats come home? Like, I don't
agree with that, even if he's not playing. I think
it's good for a young guy being in the squad
learning from the bigger guy.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
So what do you reckon?
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Yeah? Look, I loved Brad Hadden as a player. I
love him excellent, wikey, keep up, but don't make me
change your opinion of you former players just coming out
and just saying.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
They're just trying to be relevant.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Yeah, yeah, just to Yeah, I don't know, just get
their panties in a bunch because he doesn't need to.
Because I think Sam Conscias is all right where he is,
like he's I reckon, he's a very good chance to
play in the second Test, so just keep him in
the squad. It's good to like you said, it's good
to be around all the other blokes as well.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, I wouldn't mind him getting a game of the
next mestage up obviously for experience, but the experience of
being there, he's going to learn so much more. I reckon.
He already dominates in the state cricket. He knows how
to do that. He can go and literal at least
training with Steve Smith and marn It's an all really
good legend.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
It's different conditions as well. Obviously he's still obviously banning
in the nets and he's still training with the other boys,
So yeah, getting getting him used to like Asian conditions,
keep him there.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Yeah, I agree, I agree, Come on, Branddon, but you.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Better just vibes as well. Yeah, vibes.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah, I like it.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Last big question, I'm going to go over to the
women's side of cricket. Can Annabel Sutherlin become the best
all around her in the world.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
I need to have a look at the rankings. I
might quickly get that up.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Do we think that's possible because.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
She's an absolute freak?
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Yeah, she is absolutely freak. She can do everything. That's
a big call. That's a big ask. What are you
saying in history of women's cricket or that number ones? Yeah?
Absolutely she can. Yeah, absolutely, Like she's only twenty three,
as you said, and she's doing this on the big occasions.
And I think she's just from a family of cricket
(26:21):
that are built for it. So yeah, absolutely she can.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Yeah, I like it. Let me. I just want to
see where she's ranked.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
She's not so the best Aussie all around her at
the moment in the rankings is Ash Gardner's. She's a star,
Like she just gets wickets all the time. She can
make a quick five fifty, She's an absolute star. But
I think Adam bel Suaddlein is like that next, at
least Perry type like dominate for years and years to
come because but there's just so many players like that.
You Alana King is going to dominate for years to come.
You've got even Vold Georgia vol that just come in
(26:51):
the side. She was really good too, So yeah, awesome
women's cricket and we love that.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
All right.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
You said there was spicy fan comments and questions, so
let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
You can read him out.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
We'll start off with I think I started off with Facebook,
but you read him out because I haven't even seen
any of these, so I'm very excited.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Yeah, we'll start off with Facebook. And this was on
a post a bit. It was his double Century supurb
Double Century. Stephen May on Facebook says two hundred well done,
but very ordinary opponents. That's a weird comment considering he's
got to prep for an Indigenous All Stars game against
(27:26):
free Man and Melbourne preseasons.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
But Stephen, maybe as funny as two hundred is, it's
still test cricket. If you make two hundred, even in
local I remember thinking like really good players at like
Local Lever making one hundred, you still have to like
dig dig deep and make mental and then like you
can get yourself out so easily, even if it's against
crap opponents.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Yeah, it was. It was so humid as well, like
batting for long periods of time. But he didn't change
the a approached it. And he's he's just proved why
he's He had an average sixty seven heading into that
game in the subcontinent, so he's just he smashed it.
Judy Jansen, she was on his side. She said, congrats,
(28:11):
we'll see, we'll see. That's how that's how she wrote it.
But congrets. I wish i'd scene today's showing well done,
your pride and your team goes without saying oh awesome.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah, I love love that he does. He does have
a bit of we's his heart on his sleeve?
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Was he a bit like that's why it's the people's champ.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
The people's cham is he? I want to see him
shuffling in the in the outfield again. That that was funny,
funny back in the day.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Yeah, he's the people's champ. I reckon, don't mind that.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
Is Everyone loves a little bit of it, was he
but not many people loving a bit of Josh English
or debut century was he did have a couple of
Harsher comments as well on that post. Uh And Michael
Farrington was one who also commented on that post. He
also any comment. He also commented here on Josh the
(28:58):
post about Josh English's debut centry. He oes, it's against
a pop gun attack.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Again.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
We're bagging the shell ankins. We're pretty or ordinary with
ball in hand, but still debut dancing around the pitch. Yeah,
it's not easy, so good. Yeah, been on Instagram it's
ten did say Josh is an amazing player? Is is?
(29:28):
There's some love for Josh.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Yeah, we've got to get some last English because he
made David.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
We need to show some love. But Brian Rock comes
back with the hate comment. He comes back with the
hate common and says against the blind school, my friend
blind Freddy wanted to play easy as he reckons. He reckoned.
He's mate, Blind Freddy could have made a century against.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
A team, just just a one out there for Brian Rock.
Don't call your friend blind Freddy. He's just Freddy. It's
going Freddy.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Come on twenty twenty five, Tom stup and he woke.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
I don't know if blind Freddy is real, but if
he is getting around him, well I think the blind
cricketers could tear up Brian.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
So that's a funny comment. And I saw a video
of the blind.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Australian cricket team and they were very good, Like I
wouldn't want to face some of them. So yeah, anyway,
that's that's pretty funny. Trier weren't bad, but they weren't
that bad.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Yeah, they're making it out longer the worst team that ever.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Pretty bad though.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Yeah, well it wasn't great, but we'll go we'll go
back to the classic guys, the guys on YouTube where
we want him to be. Yeah, the die hard fans.
We're going to call him the diehards. I like it,
call him the diehards, Certified plumb boys or regular. He
(30:48):
says he only watches for the Goat Mully Goat Mally.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Leo Leo Malual who's not here today either, certified plumb
boy won't even hear us reading his comment out because
he's not watching, because he's not.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Watching because he turned off off. Leo will be back
on Wednesday, certified plumber. That's funny. He's got a favorite there.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
There we go. He builds up a lot of time
off because he worked a hell of a lot and
he works so hard, hard work, we'll give it.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
We'll give him that yeah day off at the end
of the video himself, so we'll see if.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
He deserved the day off, so we let him have it.
At andrew T just a round off the fan comments
and questions. You read this one now, that's sure.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Sure, I'll finish it off.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Do you think the bump in at BBL attendance is
just the border Gavis Good Trophy is just from the
God of Gavixy trophy or is it here to stay?
Should the BBL expand is the other one? So the
first one. Do we think the BBL Attendance is from
the border Gavid Good Trophy?
Speaker 2 (31:45):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
I think coming out of COVID some I think the
BBL had some good players, like good recruits back some
some big names were playing in it. I think the
standard was slightly better. I think it was promoted a
little bit better.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
What do you reckon it helps personal is they always
bring in the crowd no matter what, whether they're doing
bad or good, so you can always rely on crowd
numbers from them. But I think it's teams like Sydney Thunder,
Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne, Melburn Stars, Melbourne teams playing somewhat well,
making finals, winning the premiership. That helps with the attendance.
(32:19):
But I don't think we should expand absolutely.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
That because the crowds would be smaller.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
I think if we expand, because there is a certain
small group of people that do have an affiliation with
a club now, like it took a while, but like
there's like people that would be going to Melbourne game
and just have another Melbourne team, another Sydney team or
that wouldn't be got on anything.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Yeah, and krickus is one of the only sports in
Australia that has had a Tasmanian representative in it for
for a long time. And if we're going to bring
in a team like where it would be like Northern Territory.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Yeah, and it didn't work as well.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Yeah yeah, yeah, it wouldn't work as well. So and
I think it also helped that they reduced the fixtures
perfect amount of the season for interest. Yeah, the previous
season they had a lot more games and it just
went for too long and people lost interests.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
I will say on what Andrews said about body Gaviscod Trophy,
it probably did help a little bit because there was
a lot of Indian fans around in Australia. Then there
was also the cricket was really good in that to
people like, oh, I'm sort of into that cricket of
summer and getting into the summer mode. But I think
just the overall standard and like you said, the fix
sturing and the way it was all run was just
a lot better, so even even the last couple of
(33:29):
years compared to previous. So yeah, yeah, it's good. That
was a bit of a crowd. You read out the
last one because I don't want to read it out.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
I was going to say, I was going to say,
you refuse to read this. He goes also two Kings,
referencing and Leo saying the return of the King more
like two jokers. He says, yes, I'll take that. I'll
take that, But he goes The only quick fifty statsk
Gully is making is in the age column. Don't worry, Andrew,
(33:57):
he's already raised the bat. He's almost up to the
century the big three figures.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Wait, no, not really, Oh that's funny.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
The quick Yeah in the age cal well, we've I've
been in the herald tongue call not the age, the age.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Call his own horn now, I don't want to be
in the age.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Andrew, we love, we love the banter and all of
his comments fair fair play, fair play, and definitely I
agree to joke is fair. The fact that you and
Leo think you're kings. The only person that probably thinks
you're that Leo is a king is certified plumboy.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
So at least he's got a fan there.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Yeah. True, I've only I've only had to think one
fan saying they want me back on the shows better.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Than exactly right, exactly right. I think that's a good
way to wrap up.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
