my life at the moment, good positive the moment, RCB.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Oh, they actually have flying at the moment, which we
will touch on. We've also got Marcus Barzano. I don't
think he goes for good rut budd he does. Like
I was going to say, this is your top, isn't it, Leo?
So who do you really support?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I'm bought Goodyear at top and I'm bought an rc
beat up. I'm supporting the cree at the A show.
This set design so yeah, and actually THEREAT. I think
one thing the IPL does so well is the kids.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
The kids that they're always really good, better than the
better than the Big Bash for sure.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Everything about the IBL is better than the Big Bash. Anyway,
We're going to touch on all things IPL. For more
cricket content as well across all sports, checkout odds dot com.
Do you We're going an awesome show as always, We're
going to go through some news things that happen overnight
in the IPL, the IPL team check in, so we're
going to go through every team, the whole ladder and
go through how they're going.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
In the run to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
In the run of the playoffs, we're only four or
five games away for most teams believe, so yeah, we're
going to go through who's flying obviously RCB that Leo
is very very excited about My Sunrisers are just stinking
it up.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
But we will touch on that, a few.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Other news and what went well overnight as well as
the Aussie watch so that we love talking about the Aussies.
I just put a few points in there and then yeah,
we'll get into the rest of the show. So before
we start, make sure you start get around this on Spotify,
Apple Podcast, subscribe to the YouTube channel that's Cricket Today
Show and Cricket Today AU across all the socials. I
think that's it, boys, So we got unless we want
to subscribe account that Marcus usually does, but it's the

(01:43):
soft caut.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
What's the soft count? The soft count is three point
nine three three point nine. Okay, so we're road to
four k end of the IPL.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Oka, let's do it. Let's do it boys. All right,
we're going to do an IPL team check in. But
before we get into that, there's biggest thing in IBL
history happened last night, in my opinion, the biggest thing
a fourteen year old.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Boys. What were you doing at age fourteen? What were
you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
I was probably sounding like Mickey Mouse and averaging eight
in local cricket.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
That sounds about right. I was handling more cricket bat yep,
that's it, fixing the grip. That's it, fixing the group.
There we go. So what happened to that?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I was about to say it.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I thought he was going to say something else.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
That was a fourteen year old. They did one hundred
of thirty five balls. That is Sorayah Vanci hit one
hundred of thirty five balls, the second fastest hundred in
IPL history, only to the Great Man the Universe Boss
Chris Gaale. So he's second to Chris Gale. He's fourteen.
Oh yeah, I'm he's not fourteen. Oh wait, come on,
he's pretty's be real. He checked the birth certificate. He

(02:43):
looks about twenty. He's been a man chip. But like
I've said before, boys, I look like this. Exactly why
this at fourteen when he was born in twenty and eleven.
If he's actually fourteen, that's nuts. He's on eleven. He
just hit one hundred in the IPL. It's ridiculous. That
is unbelieva.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
What year did Chris Gale break that? Twenty thirteen? So
he was two years old. It was two years old.
Any scale broke that record? That is crazy. Thirteen years
old Gale broke that and exactly what you said to me?
Who cares?

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Mane great boy, but I just that is unbelievad rags
dam rolls aren't going too well, but they needed a
bit of a lift. So he hit forty I think
off about twenty seven balls in his first game, and
then he's backed it up with one hundred off thirty five.
So unbelievable, and that person spark they need. I think
it actually will help him because if he can just
keep doing.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
He was like, but I'm everywhere. One hundred meter sixer's
just crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
So I know we're going to talk about a lot
of things in this show, but I had to just
touch on that because that's that's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
No, dab. He'll get brought up again later when we
talk about the teams, but I'm going to keep talking
about boiler. I'm not talking about fourteen year olds. No,
you're how is the youngs? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Absolute guns. All right, let's get into the IPL team.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Check him.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
We're going to go through the ladder, which Leo will
be very very excited about. Were we going to go ten
to one? We all want to turn. I reckon one
to ten because the RCB fans will get us a
few more views at the top.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, my beloved fans out there follow me on socials.
What's that you want to talk about talking about RCB?
How long we got a minute or two? What they've
Obviously they've been the surprise packets. We had them in
the bottom half of the ladder. I think right now there,

(04:27):
well we said we're going first to ten.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah, I think for them, they're doing enough with the
ball they're batting is always.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Going to carry them through.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
When you've got Virat Kohli averaging fifty seven this season,
rajat party Tar I think is a class cricketer.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Four hundred and twelve runs this in the last last
in the last twelve months.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yes, yes, my bad. Phil Salt has been good. They've
brought in Bethel form and I think that's a bit
of a rotation.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Last game yep, and sult is playing well again. He's
the most unassuming pork technique, but he just gets runs.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
A bit of a slopper, isn't it. Yeah, a bit
of a slap.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
But the bowling has been led by the Hoff Hazelwood.
He's been superb.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
The Aussie just leading the attack. Yash Dayel's chipped in
with a few wickets. Kuma has been a bit expensive,
but then the spinners are doing enough. Criminal Panya he's
a spinner and then he made like seventy of the
last game or forty odd balls to win us the game.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
You're batting rounding thirteen wickets at eight point six.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Yeah, fantastic. Everything's clicking. The only thing I think I
can see going wrong for RCB Yeah, well, yeah, the bowlers,
because I think the bowlers are overperforming, so that doesn't maintain.
Then I think we've got issues. The batting looks really
strong to me though, when you've got David coming in late.

(05:48):
Didn't even mention jes Shama. So I think the batting
is strong.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yep is the bowling.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I think as long as you're batting strong in IVL
at the moment, we've talked about this the bowlers, some
of the balls are getting smacked around. You can you
can score big and still win by ways.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah. Well, Josh Hazelwood, according to creick Info on ESPN,
has the biggest impact rating of any player in the OPLS.
So he's leading the wickets in the league. He's leading
the wickets with eighteen.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
He's got an economy rate of eight I think as well,
which is which is really solid in IPL. Yeah, yeah,
so good, good, little fine there nuggets and knowledge that
you dismount there.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Very nice.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
So the RCB have actually won three in a row,
then they've got the last four games and they've actually
haven't finished on top of the table since twenty eleven.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
So I think that I was just drink them though.
That was very Syria of VANSI was born. Oh my god,
that is great. That's nuts.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
That's a good little fun there, mate. How do we
think they're going to go actually, how do we think
they're going to go, because we.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Can look into their run here, They've got Chennai, which
I think they should win last at the moment that
Luck now is a fifty to fifty game, I'd say
they push. They are pushing for playoffs, and Sunrises and
Cold Catter are the other two.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
So all of them are outside, all of them outside
between six to ten.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah, so I'm you'd expect them to win two to
three of those three.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I reckon and then yeah, I expect that.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
It's such a weird game, Tony kick. It is never no,
it is Can I beat them? No, it could, and
then we'd beat Luck. You know, it's just weird. It's weird.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
It is weird, like it is a weird game. It
is a weird game.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Yeah, that's all right. So when do we think they're
going to finish on the table. We'll say that I
can wrap up each team. I think top third is
the pessimistic Again.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I'll go second, sorry, because I think good Rat with
the game in hand, can overtake it.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I agree with that. I'm going to go them in
the second. Yeah. Possibly. I was just having to look
net run rate compared to the Mumo Indians and Gudrat
is terrible, but it's not Yeah, yeah, all right, that's enough.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Be second on the latter is a Mumbay Indian six
and four. What do we think about then, lads, they've
they've had a really good run. Do they have a game?
Oh no, they've had the same amount of games as
r CBS while they're they've got a pretty good run
home looking at it as well, what do we think
about the Uma Indians?

Speaker 2 (08:01):
They won their last five so you can't really complain
for the Mumboi Indians so far. Terrific net run rate,
the best in the competition. That we say, obviously it
is it is handy to have bowls like their bowlers
haven't been great, but they're just chipping in and that's
what that's what you need in twenty twenty cricket. Uh

(08:23):
and with the bat I think it's they're just very
all rounded. The Mumbai unions they.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Got Mitch Marsho's had four fifties I think in his
eight or seven.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Or eight games he's played. Is he from Mumbi, No,
he's from the Super Giants. Why did I think he was?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Again?

Speaker 1 (08:45):
So this has been the pick of the Batsky, it's
easier to him.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
One.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
They both look like Bison scoring four hundred and twenty
seven runs at an average of sixty one, which I
mean is probably the third best in the competition behind
Virat and Joss Butler. Yeah, he's been very good. He's
been very good. Yeah, any other input over there later? Well, right,

(09:15):
l wash Man that we called yes last seasons about
to bring him up.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Good A big f you to both of you. Trent
Bolt thirteen wickets ten games against.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Some of the best batsman in respect. A bit more
you do need to do to be fair on batting
pictures as well, exactly.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
And he's not. He's getting older too, He's not in
his prime anymore.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
He's still he's absolutely five.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
He had his twenty first birthday when when he was
born was born, he had his twenty first person actually
like his little bit boys wre in corner back.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I also think Harding Panya has been very good as well.
Twelve wickets from nine games.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah, he's been really good. Where do we think they're
going to finish?

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Lads Mumbai so I think they will still be top three,
So I'm going to go third.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
So they've got a.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Pretty difficult draw with Good Rat, Punjab and Dally who
are third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
I think they'll finish third. Yep, yeah, fourth, I'm going
to agree third, third, nice, very.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Very in Udison there, all right, third. This is the
jersey behind This is one of my favorite kids. Actually
behind you there, Marcus. I love the Good Rat Titans
are in third at six and three. They've played a
game less, so they'll they could jump up the ladders, sorry,
the table as well. And you've loved Good Rat from
the start of the season.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Later, Yeah, I think I predicted them to finish first,
and they were until that recent loss against Rajasthan, so
thank you.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Shout out to the fourteen year old yea. We haven't
talked about him and I reckon, so.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
We're finding a way to bring him up in every
sort of aspect, aren't we. But Sy sud Hassan, he's
the man for good, the Orange Cat, and he's leading
the runs four fifty six and he's played one less
game than those below him as well, same with Butler,
played one less game, so nine matches, four hundred and
six runs. Sul Ben Gill as well as up there
three hundred eighty nine runs. He was my bet for

(11:08):
the most runs.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yes, you did. He's still got a little bit of
a chance man. Man, there's only one man for the job,
the suld Man.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
So when he got those three in the top ten batters,
they're flying in his stroke gerrates really impressive as well,
one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Yeah, they're batting has been easily the most consistent, like
they're just making runs for fun at the moment, they're fine,
and because I think we did like a lot of
their bowlers at the start of the season, but it's
been more I can talk about, yeah, some.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Of the bats Marcus, Yeah, with some facts. That's Krishna
as well. He's second, he's one wicket behind Josh Hazelwood
and then it drops to fourteen wickets below that. So
he's been a standout with the ball. Got an average
of sixteen economy, one of the best economies in the competition,
of the best averages as well. Yeah, seven point eight

(11:54):
and the average of sixteen as I just mentioned, So
he's taken one four wicket haul. Uh and just from
the thirty five overs as well.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Well. Really that's actually pretty damn good there. So they're
obviously third on the table. Their net run rate is
what is it the second best? I think, yeah, second
best in the competition. So they'll be looking for that
first spot.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
I think. Do we think they can make it where
we think they gonna fish? I think they'll finish first. Yeah. Yeah,
from the start of the season, I'll go second. Yeah.
They got their game in hand. Yeah, at the time
of recording, so they got a They got some of
the best wicket wicket taking players and run scorers in
the competition so far. Fine. As long as they keep

(12:35):
that form, there's no reason why they come on and win.
The think of fourteen year old to take them down.
I know they did. They did. Let's go with team
without mentioning him.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Yeah awesome. Alright, Dai Capitals are in fourth. This is
the big surprise. I reckon it is because they were
pretty bad last season. They're six and three. The Daly Capitals. Well, yeah,
perhaps it was Ricky Ponting's fault. Yeah, because Ricky Ponting
is coaching the jug Kings now.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I won't take any punters, so yeah, yeah, nice, I
like that one.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yeah he said punters slander. Oh sorry, I thought.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
You guys listening. Anyway, what do we think about the
d What do we think about the Daily Capitals?

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Marcus hit him with them to two words that you
love kr rule the same way. He's the top ron
score sixty four runs.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
What is his striker? Because everyone bags him about his
striker one forty six. That's great, it's good average of sixty.
Do we think Indian fans will respect him a bit
more because apparently a lot of our comments they say
they don't respect him enough in the IP.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Respect him because he's in the top five best IPL
players of all time. He's not. He's not. He's not
he is I reckon he's sixth, eleventh, eleventh problem. Don't
like you this season?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Like you?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
There's another disappointment. We're touching this in the Aussies. But
a bit of Jake Fraser McGirk. We always talk about
him with the Daily Capitals.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
Who could have seen this coming?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
He did nothing in the Big Bash and then he's
done nothing in the IPL. I'll get on his averages
and a few more stats later, but what is going
on with that man is he just needs to play
some more cricket, more normal cricket shots.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
We've talked about this on now. Sure I don't know
if he can.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I don't know if it's in his arsenal because he
needed to just like play lower lower level for a
bit and.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
The game chalk from the vflty mum synthetic.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
It is interesting though, because you think the IPL would
work for him in the sense that like it does
reward the sort.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Of hack batting.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Well, he made three and thirty runs last last season,
so this season I think it's a confidence issue. Do
we do have a number that he scored, No, it's
under Yeah, I've got here for the season.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah. Yeah, he's got fifty five runs in six matches. Yeah. Look,
that's an average of nine. Yeah, look right at all.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
I was gonna touch it later, but I might as
well say that now. That's just no idea on that.
But the fact that they're still fourth because last season
I was relying on him to score, but they're still
fourth without him and he's he got dropped.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
He's only played the six games.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Yeah, so it's a bit of a worry for the
Aussie But in terms of the overall team effort, they're
pretty happy.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yeah yeah, but they've only had in all fairness, batting
has been a big letdown for this season. They've only
had three players score over two hundred runs so far
this season when you just compare that to other sides. Ye, look,
they're still in a decent position where their fourth Yeah,
we're talking talking about them like they're not going to
make the it's been a bit negative, but a lot

(15:27):
of reliance on their bowling though. It's in there with that.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Oh sorry on kule yep with that with the stat sheet, Yeah,
absolutely all right, where are they going to finish on
the table so that the last two games I could
decide to their first good rat and one by their
last two which I think they could lose Bone and
Jab who are below them, just and if they're losing
both of those games, they might not make it.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
They might go to fifth, sixth, fifth, I think I
think they're going to squeeze down. But we haven't really
talked about Mitchell Stark though, yeah the del Caples. Obviously
he had been in the Aussie watch. But he's been good.
Eleven wickets behind called Ipadav who has twelve. Yep, he's
been really good. But yeah, where do you think they are?
I'm going fifth or six? L go fifth? Fifth?

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Who is currently in fifth is the Punjab Kings are
obviously coached by punt A Ricky Ponting. It's having a
bit better season with the Kings because he wasn't too
good with the daily capitals. They're five and three and fifth.
What do you think about the Punja kicks? Lights look
the no result in their previous match. Actually more like
come in class?

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I know? Wait, why is that because it's an extra point?
Because the extra point they get an extra point they've
got true, He says, I know, and then he goes,
I didn't say I knew that. It's like a drag.
I thought he meant.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
I thought he meant in terms of like, it's not
going to be helpful because they need to get a
win for the playoffs. But he's saying it's an extra point,
so that's a positive thing.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
It could be. It could be handy because their net
run rate you look at their net run rate isn't
the best compared to those who are pushing for finals,
who are already in the top four. Yep, so they
need a big win probably, Yeah, I mean the points
stats gay the point it gets rid of the.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Rid of the n Sorry, oh he's all over the shop,
isn't he? Today, I am guess it's Tuesdays loves Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Two players I want to talk about, Yes, Jab, I'm
going to pronounce these incredibly wrong, so I apologize. But
Aria and probably sim run sing as well.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
That was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Yeah, so that they are currently their leading run scorers.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
I think they they're just in the top ten or
top fifteen, eleven as well, those three eleven, twelve and
thirteen in the competition run scored, So they're the one
sort of holding them up with the bat.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
It's the team with a lot of Aussies. You've got
stowiness maxi English.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
None of them have really five back, which you'll touch
on he got dropped. Yeah yeah, stillness with the average
sixteen high score thirty four. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
So they're not getting enough out of the Aussies and
that probably is why they're fifth. Yep, I think they're
getting enough out of those other bats with the ball
as well. They don't have anyone in the top ten
wicket takers. They've got as cheep singers. They're high, I
believe from what I'm seeing here. So basically that their
stat sheet is showing that they're perfectly placed their fifth.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
They're the middle of the road. They need to improve
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
They need the Aussies to lift and they need a
few of their bowlers left I think forward.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Yeah, how about Glen maxwelly on the bat? Wow? Yeah,
I was going to touch on that forty eight runs
average of eight, strike rate of under one hundred, which
is so unlike Maxi ninety seven. Yeah on conditions in
the IPL where almost every game the team scoring two
hundred plus.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, that's just not good enough, and that if they're
going to make the playoffs, they need him to step up,
because you can't drop Maxi's probably one of the best
most paid players in the competition as well. You're paying
him lots of money to just sit on the bench
and he's.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Not really taken wickets either. He's bowled thirteen overs. He
might wish the bowl a little bit more, but he's
only taken four wickets. But I just think in general,
no one really has taken wickets for the Punjab Kings
last Deep sing with the most on eleven, and then
you're looking at single figures, low single figures for majority
of the other players like the internationals, Lucky Ferguson, Marco Jansson,

(19:09):
Maxwell of course, and Xavier Barlow, who's only got two
in three games.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Yeah, no, ideal that is, yeah, they need someone to
like just take the reins of this team and take
them to the next level. But I don't think they're
going to do that. They're currently in fifth, where they're
going to finish lads fourth or you think they're going
to jump up after we dis a bit negative about them?

Speaker 2 (19:23):
How's that? How's the ends of the season look like?
They're into this season. I think they'll beat CSK. I
think they'll beat LUK.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Now, I think they'll lose to Dally, I think they'll
beat Mumbo, and I think they'll beat.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
I want to have them. I'm going to have them.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
I just don't have a really good fourteen though that's
going to kick it another hundred.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Very true. I don't know I'm going to have them
on having them dropping to sixth, I'm going to I'm
going to say seventh.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
I wonder who you're going to put I genuinely think
there's a few teams that below we're going to go
on a bit of a run here, like r CBD.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Is this going to back your own teams to No?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
No, I'm saying my team, my team of the Sunrise
is still down, saying I think Rajastan and Ko Kata
have been a bit stiff in a few games. I've
had a look and I reckon they get a charge up.
You've had a look, Yeah, just like five minutes ago.
But yeah, yes, no, like genuinely I think they're they're
They've got guys performing a little bit better than Punjab.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
They're gottle bit lucky. What lucky, I don't know. Some
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I don't know anyway, next team is lucknow super Giants,
who I really wanted to touch on before with Mitch Marster.
He's been absolutely awesome. Four fifties, they're six currently at
five and five. How do we think they're gone?

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yeah, the batting is definitely keeping them in games. They're
bowling is letting them down. Nicholas Paran is sixth in
the competition for the show four hundred and four Friend
of the Show.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
He commented on one of our last year smith see
Smith as well.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Both of those Mitch marsh and Parana averaging above forty
strike rate. Parun striker is ridiculous two hundred and three.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
He's been so consistent across like the short format or
like i'd say the last two or three he is.
So he's so underrated in world cricket. He's got the
most sixes I believe.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
In the competition so far. It's thirty four. Yeah, thirty
four thirty four sixes, which is just ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
How many sixers have you, guys in your career, I
reckon Leo, Uh, not nearly as many as.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
That might hit my first six when I was fourteen.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Oh really and then say hits.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
I struggled average six Yeah, true, I agree with that.
Also Ada Markham as well.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
He's up there in the runs with what is that
three hundred thirty five?

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Sorry? Is this glasses? We're getting the figure splot on here? Yeah.
I got to make sure I'm like you over there,
just vibe it. I'm usually I usually do it. The players.
Like one player who I've been let down from this season, Yeah,
has been Richard part Yes, I think everyone has been.
And he wasn't very good for India from memory as well,

(21:51):
like well in the Test series he was he was
that one or two really stand out. Yeah, and then
we made fifty if not many kept him consistent way
and then through he threw his wicket away a couple
of times, and obviously Test crickets to twenty cricket is
very different, but he plays it like it's the same. Yeah,
but he's only averaging twelve at and again, strike rate
another one of below one hundred.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
How much would you how many runs would you guys
average in the IPL if you could just like go
out there.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
For for forty night year old smack him around. You're
about it like six every game? Could you average? One?
Stowiness averages sixteen, so seventeen big puppy average average ten.
I'll go double figures ten. Yeah, you need his like
in the coup edges. Yeah and then two. Now bat

(22:37):
and ball, you let the pace of the ball to
the majority of the literal X. I just wanted to
get your opinion on that one. That's pretty funny. Luck. Now,
where are they going to finish, lads? They're currently sixth.
I think they're going to finish around that. If they
want to make the playoffs, they need some luck.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Now, Oh my, that was actually solid.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
I said it like the more times in the previous
show and you hated it.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
I like it now I've come around. Oh, I have
them dropping the probably seventh. Yeah, I agree, I think
they could drop as well.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
I think they've played the extra game compared to a
lot of teams. Get around them like that. Yep, I'm
gonna go. I'm gonna go around that seven like as well.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
All right, KKR is the next one.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
They're in seventh. They're three and five. Give us some
brilliant it's been a bit under one bit underwhelming. As
you said, we did get stiffed in a couple of games.
We got the no result point as well. Yes, which
so what does that mean?

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Stats sneak means that the net run range doesn't come
into account.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
It's they could see a sneak into fourth position possibly
if we get that. That's we've had a lot of great,
like not great performances with the ball, but like everyone's
chipping chipping in equally yep. But also no one's really
standing out, which has been.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Like they're getting a wik or two but not that
big four for that the other team's like half and
a few other balls.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yeah. Yeah, obviously like Chack for Rathi as well, he's
been and out bowler, hasn't he Yes, But he's also
he's taken eleven but he goes at a really good
economy six point eight five. That's what he's in A four.
That's elite. You look at the others in the squad
nine nine for Aurora and harsh It Rada, but Sooner

(24:17):
Noran and dre Russ and mo Ali as well. He's
I mean he's only taken three wickets, but he's played
four games. Yeah, yeah, that's that's not it only hasn't
bowled nearly enough eleven overs in four games. Is you know?
The two that need to lift though? Who openers? Ryan
and Cock? Yes?

Speaker 3 (24:34):
We currently hand bat in hand one hundred and fifty
one runs for Sooner on the Rhine, one hundred and
forty three for the Cock. Now, I think de Cock
might have gotten dropped because he's only played the seven
games and the Ryan's played the eight.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yes, but Nurhan was the best open a lot salt
last season.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
We're like, who was like the best?

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Like like Warner and Rogers opening the batting like two
really you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Like they were unstoppable. Where's the chemistry? They only have
one player that has scored over two hundred runs. We
were very someone I did not expect on that though.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
We were very surprising that the rhym was doing that
because he was like a solid all around it, but
it was never like a pure batter. Yeah, and he
just so maybe that was just the one hit wonder,
maybe because the seasons one season wonder, because he hasn't
done that consistently his career. So yeah, it might be, yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
A little bit disappointing, but I still have a lot
of faith they're still a little upside in this team. Yep,
I agree, whether they're largely still the team that that
won the won the tournament last season. So they've got
a bit of faith they can rEFInd that form a
little bit, and they do like they do have the
game in hand, and and how does their ender the
season look closely?

Speaker 3 (25:44):
So you got Dally, you got Rajasthan, Yeah, you got Chennai,
you got Sunrises, and you got me.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
That's a very hard you do.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
You hope that our CBS like confirmed finals for that game,
So take it a bit aready drunk and you need Yeah,
you need to make that interfinals.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah, that's what you've got to hope for. That's what's
going to happen. That's what I think. I have them
finishing fourth, Oh.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
My god, fourth, fifth, I'm going to go fifth as well.
I think they can charge them. They just miss their
teams in fifth. Yeah, keeping track, that's all right. It
was just vibeing it all right. Last three teams here
Rajasthan and Rose and we've already talked about.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
There was something happened overnight. What was it again? They
have they have a fourteen year old?

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Yeah, they have a fourteen damn good. They're in eight
that three and seven. How do we think they're going?
I think I think they've been very disappointing for sure,
but Soayah Vanchi can possibly spark them at the butt.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Averaging fifty in a striker of two hundred and fifteen when
you're literally fourteen years old back again is ridiculous. That's
his max heart rate as well. Probably that's a good call.
That is a good call. What else do we think
about rajstan boys? I love their kids. I know a
lot of people aren't always a big fan of the pink,
but he's not. He's not the only one that's that's

(27:00):
playing well with a bat with bat in hand, Jay
as well or Marcus. Does he have aureate? No? Does
the fourteen year old have aura? Yes? Yes?

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Yes, imagine him walking into school by the way, just
he probably doesn't even want to see do you want
to see me smack a six?

Speaker 2 (27:17):
His career is sorted. Already went to school the next day.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Surely that school right now he would literally get like
a thrown and a crown from his like principal over
in India.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Oak made school principal school prins at fourteen. Yeah, maybe
maybe did they have that over their head master? Would master?
They'll get some trauma from viewers, yeah, Travis Travis head master.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Anything else on Rajster was they just need to improve.
I think that their team isn't as bad. Actually a
lot of us had them lower on the table in
our predictions, and we have been pretty correct on that.
But I think they can go better.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, they need a bit more out of Joffra. Oh yeah,
he's had two games where he's conceited ten games. Yeah,
it was, it was. It was a stretch about a
month ago, two games where it conceded fifty something runs
in over. He just needs only getting a wicked game.
What are you doing as the front line paceman? Got
a lift? Yeah? Yeah, agreed. Averaging almost ten and over

(28:15):
isn't isn't great, but no one's really standing out for
the ball. Like I look at their bowling attack here.
It just doesn't scare me. I's a hunger and think
Shana are good. They're good, but are they one of them?
Are they old? Like has to runder now?

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Like they be like thirties Max. Let's have a look
because twenty seven I thought it was a bit old.
What is twenty seven? So I thought it was a
little bit older and I thought, oh, maybe he's a
bit past it. But yeah, they need to do a
bit better because they dominated for Shralanka shot on the
IPR stage.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Yeah, well they did bounce back to winning ways after
a bit of a winless run. But they've played an
extra game. But they played extra game four or four
games ago, when the teams around them have five. They
have a great huge break from playing on Sunday against
cold Cutta on the fourth of May Australian time. Ye,
so then playing on Tuesday, the thirteenth of me we'll

(29:09):
go to the Maldive.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Oh talking about that will be the next team. Nice
little sege there. But we'll just quickly touch on. Well,
I just wanted to know where you think they're going
to finish Rudge done. I think they're going to stay
eight on.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
I'm going to say ninth. Yeah, I'll say eighth, Yeah,
good call. All right?

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Talking about the mald Ives, because what the hell is
going on at the Sunrises? My beloved Sunrises are ninth
at three and six, Absolutely crapp in the bed. Everything's going, wrongs, frauds,
one hundreds going.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
I don't go through their team.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
I think that they've been poisoned or something because the
amount of good players on this list. You've got back comings,
You've got Travis Head, You've got oh, you've got abishak Shama.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
What are we doing? Boys? Sorry? That classes one hundred,
class and superstar?

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Like?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
What is going on?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Adam's zample? Adam's he hasn't He's two wickets in two games.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, anyway, I need on that they are worried in
the actual team, the team camp, because they took all
of their staff and players to the Maldives to play
a bit of volleyball and reset.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
How weird is that? Imagine getting playing like absolute garbage
and getting rewarded with the holiday. It's good. I reckon
AFL team should do. But if I.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Came out if your AFL team for people that for
AFL if if Sam Mitchell goes all right, Hawks.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Let's go to Bali for the week or something. Not
the players go there and get you. You would hate
that because you'd be like, they shouldn't be rewarded. You
would hate that. I reckon. Yeah, that's taking North Melbourne.
It's taking North Melbourne to exactly one of the most
beautiful places on earth. They deserve to go to, like
Melton or something, not Melton where Curtis is from Melton. Yeah,

(30:49):
that's all right, Sorry Melton fans out there. But anyway, Yeah,
you had a kid at the fourteen year old age.
I don't think so that played in the IPL. Oh
did they? Was it? No? I think he's twenty. That
has to be check the receipts. Anyway.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
In terms of the Sunrises, I believe that they have
been the biggest disappointment in the IPL this season after
finishing third last season, pushing towards the second part of
the finals like the playoffs last year, and the team
they have, they should easily be in the top four
and I don't think they can come back from this.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
You've had a lot of players that have just been okay,
like they're not. They haven't been match winners, and then
when you need the match winners, they haven't been there.
So look, it's it's going to be a rough end
of the season.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Yeah, pack Cummins has had like two games where he's
won the match with the ball, but he hasn't had that.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
But he's also he's also he took three for twenty
six in one of his best bowling figures yep. But
he's also only taken norm wickets to norm matches, so
he's scorn wicketless in most of the matches. Yep.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
Swings a roundabouts T twenty great last year, cramp, this year, great,
next year should mark that.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
I would say that any more enthusiasts. I liked it.
I liked it all right.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Wherever we think they're going to finish, I think it's
going to be eighth on nine and that's going to
kill me because the should have been to fourteen.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Eighth, all right, I'm going to go Jesus tough.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Where do you think I already said eighth on nine? Yeah,
pick one a nose ninth because I'm sick of them.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
I'm going to go. I'm going to go last yeah,
I'm going to go last they play, they played good.
You're at who were playing very good. DELI are currently
in the top four, Coolcutta who I think are going
to be in the top four, the RCB who are top,
and Lucknow who also pushed them for the playoffs. So
I didn't heard it here. First Sunrisers will lose their

(32:42):
last five six games, all right.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
The final team that has been another big disappointment the
Chennai super Kings.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
They're in tenth at two and.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Seven, usually the most experienced you've got obviously MS done
over there, that's just not doing too well. What do
we think about Chennai boys and how they're gone? It's
their batting is bad. It is deplorable this reason. What
about your man ratching Revender?

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Though he started well, he started really well, Yeah, but he'
dropped to average twenty seven and hasn't even broke the
two hundred run I reckon. He had like a sixty
or forty early on too. So I don't think score
this season in sixty five, not out. I think that
was at the.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Start, I reckon genuinely though, that's not I don't think
them losing is all on him because he hasn't been
too bad.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
There's been got We just told you he's been bad.
Nobody had two good games. Like, there's guys that started
the season. There's guys in this team that wouldn't have
even had any good games.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Yeah, there is.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
There is.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Actually Devin Gonway for Yeah, because I was honoring Ratching
Revenger with that one.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
That was great.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
But there's not enough players lift. He's still laughing at that,
all right, there's not enough players lifting to the occasion.
If you watch the Chennai game, they get they and
then they celebrate.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Why are they celeb because m Stoney's coming out to bat. Yes,
but he can't save him anymore. He's been good.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
He has been He's chipped in with a few little cameo.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
He can't make the massive score anymore. They need more
out of their top of middle order.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Their bowling has been very pretty decent, pedacent, no armored.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
They just need to need someone to lift with the
bat and take the momentum off the ball. Because you
mentioned just in the Wicked he's been great.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Because he's so consistent. But in the IPL we've talked
about this, the bowlers aren't that relevant as much as
the bad as an ipl We've talked about this a lot.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
He's then to make some big scores. Boys, come on, well,
he does have the he does he have the best
bowling figures. I think he pretty much does four in
the first game eighteen.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
It might be because I don't know if there's been
a fire on maybe the house has been two fire
for his Hardik Panda and mich Stark.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
You go, oh yeah, Stark of course got a fire
for us all. But he has the fourth best bowling figures. Okay,
not bad, not bad, so CSK. I'm just going to
say it. They're going to be in temper. I think
they've been very disappointing. We're not fifth, yeah, fifth, Yeah,
we probably we probably should have remembered where we put
Everyone's all right, that's right, they finished north ahead of

(35:10):
your mob son Rose Sometris last, that's just hater, all.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Right, Ossie watched before we wrap up the show, like
we've already tald about a lot of Aussies, but just
a few little news points on the Aussies.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Maxwell. He was called out by verenda say Wag the
last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
There's always been a lot of beef between these two,
but anyway called him out. He said that Maxie is
treating the IPR as just a holiday and he's having
direct roat was he has no hunger anymore for the
IPL game.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
What do we what do we think about it? I
don't think that's true. I don't think that's true either.
But he also probably gave up on hit fawning form
to get himself into the Australian Test squad at least
making runs with the bat and a little bit different.
But when we went with when we've gone with Connolly
in the test squad, we've gone with English. We were

(35:56):
talking about Peter Hanscom like Glenn Maxwell wasn't even mentioned
true when we're gone to the Subcontinent. So he's dropped
out form in motivation. I get to see if if
that was the case, I get I see why he
has probably had a lack of motivation. But then again
he's thirty six, Like do we expect him to.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Be as good as well? Yeah, he should be playing
a lot better. I don't think it's to do with hunger.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
I know that.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
I feel like a lot of IPR player would probably
tread as a holiday because it is you're away from
home for a long time.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
But out of Max, he's Max. He's got that dog
in him.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Tob he's there for the fight usually, so I still
think he has the hunger, but he just needs to
be a lot better. As we touched him before. He's
averaging eight forty eight runs in the season. He's been dropped.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Yeah, he went. He went from being the main guy
the main guy I finished. I think you finished second
in the Player of the season in the Big Bash
you got Melbourne Stars Player of the season did yeah, yeah,
And then then to that and then to this non idea.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
That some more Aussies've got. Hazel Wood's obviously leading the league,
so we're very happy with that. He had four for
thirty three a few games ago.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
I'm telling you he's so underrated, so dominating in the
short form because everyone thinks about him like le mcgarre
in the long form. This is unbelievable. She should go
down as one of Australia's best ever balls, same as Stark,
because we always better than Stark. But yeah, they're both
very good, very good. Haze better than stuff. Yeah, I

(37:15):
prefer I just prefer bowlers who hit that spot every
bore you look at Hazeward's wickets. Virtually, I'd say ninety
five percent of them are taken with catchers behind the stumps. Yeah,
that's boring. Whereas you know, Mitch, Mitch Stark, he was
throwing a few bounces, someone will get caught it.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
I'd rather watch a Midge Stark talk than Josh Hazel
would call.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
That's where That's where I'm a little bit different. Oh,
that's very different.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
York is the best, Yeah, very safe, unique.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
That's not unique. What's wrong with being bland? But at
this show you could be good and you've got to
be good and bad at the right times. And that's
what Josh is. What is like myself? Good boy assign
reference all right.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Last one of the Aussie watch is Mitch marsh Just
I know we already talked about.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
He made four fifties, fourth in the.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
League runs but Mumbai, right, No for luck now of
course he doesn't play for Yeah, but he is finding
some confidence again, which is the best sign for Aussies.
And just I'm very happy for him because he was
in a bit of a pit at the end of
last year.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
A bit of a pit he was. He was right,
I had a pit. He looked like it was he
got dropped in the Indian Test summer. Yes, look, it's
just everyone wants to see Mitch marsh with a smile
on his face. Exactly right, So happy Bison is a
happy world.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
And hopefully he can do you reckon he went come
back and play for Australia again. Slight doors slightly a jar,
slightly open. Maybe Cam Green coming back, Team Green coming
back by websites.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
In front of him for those short definite I agree
with that one, all right, we agree with that. That's
a bit of I pold. I'm great with that. Look
at us toment the first show in three weeks, three
weeks months, three months, No, definitely not three months?

Speaker 1 (39:03):
All right?

Speaker 2 (39:04):
That stumps for the Cricket Today Show. I'm coliner there.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
We'll continue to the show wreck and every couple of
weeks while the IPL is still going on, it will
do a playoff. We'll do a playoff preview one hundred
percent and anything you want us to talk about, we're
going to do some evergreen content as well.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
Ranking playing of that.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Let us know in the comments, because anything you guys
wanted to do, we're just we're just happy to do
content for it on the socials as well. Make sure
you check out the socials. That's Cricket Today. Are you
sending any questions any comments? Will read it out on
the next show as well. Thank you very much to
Joel behind the camera.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
Thank you, liv thank you. I'm very hot. Yeah, as always,
Thank you very much, Marcus, thank you. I know you're hot.
You don't have to say it out loud. Yeah, that's
that's very true. But your good look temperature. There we go.
That's another episode of Cricket Today.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Done, we're out.

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
