over the weekend in Dallas, the home of cricket they

cover the first four games, going to have a bit
of a yena we love doings on our Today podcast
some news, so game wrapped and all. Then we're going
to do looking at our tipping competition that we probably
put out on the socials at some point, but we
have to worry about that a few other reasons.

love the game to kick because it's so.

love to see the gold back.

Yeah, I think because you've got South Africa wearing the gold,
You've got your Ganda wearing the gold, and then I
don't know if for South Africa, surely we get for
already been winning everything. They didn't put the pen to
paper for that one. Next one in the news, I
just put it in here because it's funny and we
like talking about Pakistan players. They did this whole photo
shoot with cowboy hats the Pakistan team that was very weird.

local time was on the weekend, was it.

Yeah, take out the word dying because you've literally got
seats for seventy five dot. That's a joke. I think,
like I know that it's a World Cup and overseas,
like I went to the one in England, you can
you can, you can probably charge that because they're going
to sell out and just the cricketing sort of nation
Western needs have been up and down. Don't charge seventy
five bucks, Charge twenty or thirty bucks and they'd fill
the stadium, especially in Barbados as well. Yeah, even for
a group a group game that Western is the first

I wouldn't pay seventy five dollars for that.

I know you guys, but I think we just need

I just I couldn't believe I was sitting on my
couch watching the US national anthem.

the USA. Canada started off one ninety four for five,
their best performance I think ever against USA that had
and built up matches where they got absolute smatch smashed.

if what you guys saw from this one that Drake
Kendrick rivalry is actually heated in between Canada and USA,
not only in cricketing terms as well. I think you're
going to go there and to get people hyped up
for the game of cricket in America. This was a
great game. Yeah, that was to be a part of.
And how good was Aaron Jones.

Aaron Jones slog of the Weekend. I think we're going
to just easily give that him the award for that
one ninety four or forty. I think I said three
balls out of the stadium, but I might have missed
a couple. They were trying, they lost a couple of balls.
There was just balls flying everywhere. Yeah, you saw that inning,
Aaron Jones.

He went absolutely bonker. Yeah, it was great to watch.

And as you said, I mean what a pinnacle for
starting the T twenty World Cup. Yeah, Us first Canada.
It was a great game for me the dally while
at the top. Yeah, he was also very controlled innings,
went pretty hard when he had to, but also just
knocked it around. Corey Anderson bowling absolute doomies around left doomies.
But you know he got a wicket first ball. And

Nicholas Curtin from Canada, he actually impressed me. I reckon
he's going to have an innings where he's going to
go bonkers breakheut sort of player.

I do think that he's going to have a really
big innings in the tournament, hopefully sooner rather than later.

they were struggling two for forty two at the start
and then Aaron Joe just came in ninety four or forty.
That could be one of the best.

for four for the first over and I'm like, they
already lost the wiket.

the line against against the USA. But they should be
pretty happy with that performance because I think that was
the first ever World Cup match, So pretty good. All right.
We already talked a little bit about the disappointing crowd,
but it was an interesting match. P and G versus

the West Indies in Guyana home game. Obviously for the
West Indies in their tournament. You've got P ANDNG not
a good score, but they were okay with the ball
one hundred and thirty six for eight. Then you got
the West End's one hundred and thirty seven for five
off nine eight. So actually, when I saw one hundred
and thirty six PG made, I thought, no way that
this is going to go longer than like ten overs. Twelves.
It's gone nine eight overs. That's what's going on.

Especially after the Windys hit well two hundred and forty
against st Yeah, no hundred and fifty something in the
warm five. I think, yeah, ridiculous. I know, sort of
a controlled innings, so I guess if you call it that, know,
the crowds sort of match the game. It was kind
of dead, but you know, it was a sort of
a tactical battle, which is interesting to see in the
twenty twenty for mat Yeah, yeah, you saw bow you

Was talking about say say, I think he came into
number three or at the top. He he was really.

He's actually quite good in the eye to watch some
shots over cover and through extra cover. Really good to watch.
And again I'm pretty interested to see him about the tournament.
I think if you can just kind of knock it
around and be a bit of an anchor for them
for PNG, you know, they might get a win or two.

The spinner, he's awesome, well, the spinner in Swinger, he's
left arm like his in swinger is deadly and he
knocked over Siaka which was an absolute beauty as well,

and J are a much lower ranked team the West Indies,
but he had to get he needed that inning because
they only got it done in the nineh which surprised me.

Look, although they still have Dre Russ coming in at seven,
I know that is Look, it's so exciting, and you've
got Nicholas Perren who smashed the Aussies around. He wasn't great,
but he was sort of steady with his twenty seven
basically a run a ball yep. So look, probably not
the result. The wind is sort of wanted to make
it like a statement making sort of win their first

game on the home deck, but wins to win.

Yeah, they'll take it. They just need to get out
of the line. I think. Yeah, they need a build
from that though, because you should be making one thirty
six the pitch wasn't as bad as some of the
other ones in New York. Whereas it's their home sort
of ground. It's their home ground. I should be doing
a little bit better than that, so I was a
bit surprised that it got that close. So awesome effort
by P and G bowlers. I actually wrote in there
the captain of P and G Asad Vala two for two,
so not two two, that would be pretty that'd be

So he's another one to watch, So Bao and Vala.
This is a few guys, as Tom mentioned that you
can watch from different teams. That going to be very
that's the best thing about this tournament. Yeah, yeah, there's
going to be especially in T twenty. There's guys that
can make quick runs, get a few wickets. It's going
to be pretty exciting. All right, Let's get to the
game of the tournament. So far, I'd say I didn't
think i'd be saying this, Aman versus Namibia. You've got

some very low scores one hundred and nine each and
then it goes to a super over. Lads, we've had
our first super over in the three games. I absolutely
love superovers. I think I was. I was always predicting
super overs in the Big Bash and they never happened.
But we got it super over finally. What happened here, lads,
That is unbelievable.

That's nuts. Reuben trump Woman Yeah, yeah, he looked brilliant,
like he's going to be a player to look out for.
And great name as well. He started, He started great, started.
You got two wickets off the first two balls of
the gamesous and he was bold sanstry crushes just like
they were.

Also to absolutely plumb lbst stay and good left arm
in swing bowler. Yeah, has taken wickets for four at
a T twenty World Cup. He took some wickets in
the previous one as well, But he just started the
game up and I think it kind of was the
flow of the game after that. It was a bit
of a dog fight from both the ones. Yeah, it
was pretty slow. But David weis.

Yeah, Liisa, he is awesome. So he played for South
Africa back in the day a fair bit, so he's
very experienced on the on the international stage. He got
the man of the match. So I actually before we
talk about we said the last over we'll talk about
before you get to the superov because Wesa dominated in
the superover. You've got the last over. I don't know
if you guys saw Namibia. They needed five runs, that's all.
They needed five runs, so they choked that big time

and only got four. Then on the very last ball,
the keeper misses the stumping, which would have guaranteed I'm
on the win, and then they've gone and lost it
in the super hover. So both teams are just trying
to out choke each other. No one really wanted to
not really wanted to win this in the last over.
But yeah, Lisa three for twenty eight. It was awesome.
Just he had so much energy. He's got the long locks.
Now he looks like a completely different man. I looked
him up a bit older at thirty nine. He's still

Yeah, there were some of the shots I saw and
my un batsman as well. Just play that similar sort
of shot where he's no looked outside off and he's
sort of whipped it towards steep square for for a
boundary and that those days we've got to get queried

I reckon Namibia might surprise a few Trumpman, Yeah, exactly,
and like, look, Wes has played a lot of cricket,
he's been around for a long time. He might actually
drag him to a few wins off his own bowling

So I actually think Namibia might chance Scotland.

At the start of the time, I think we said
Scotland would beat Namibia, but they could easily beat Scotland.

so I won't know they weren't. They were like if

but they didn't make it out of the group stage.

verse Scotland. Is this a pretty easy one that we're

I am part Scottish and I love love Scotland. I'm
going for them in the Euros. I'll definitely be supporting
them over England in this competition.

this game. So England for me comfortably, yeah.

shoot with cowboy hats the Pakistan team that was very weird.

This is the franchise that's supposed to be bringing cricket
back into its heyday, like putting it in corners. But
no one was at West Indies first, I know Papua
New Guinea, but the tournament was played in the West Indian. Yeah,
West Indians love the cricket. The game was scheduled at
ten am, which is a weird time. That's what david
local time was on the weekend, was it.

Yeah, Look, I wouldn't say dying.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, take out the word dying because you've literally got
seats for seventy five dot. That's a joke. I think,
like I know that it's a World Cup and overseas,
like I went to the one in England, you can
you can, you can probably charge that because they're going
to sell out and just the cricketing sort of nation
Western needs have been up and down. Don't charge seventy
five bucks, Charge twenty or thirty bucks and they'd fill
the stadium, especially in Barbados as well. Yeah, even for
a group a group game that Western is the first

ping who's paying seventy five bucks.

I wouldn't pay seventy five dollars for that.

I know you guys, but I think we just need
to wait and see. I think it's very early cool,
but I mean it's a good point. It is a
home series for the West Indies. But yeah, I think

Well maybe the next couple of I think it will

I think so once we Super eights and the bigger
nations clash off against each other, we see some some
more people in the crowds.

I love cricket because I think Test cricket is still
a pinnacle of cricket. Yeah, but I don't know. It

I just I couldn't believe I was sitting on my
couch watching the US national anthem.

No, I can't believe it. So it was Canada versus
the USA. Canada started off one ninety four for five,
their best performance I think ever against USA that had
and built up matches where they got absolute smatch smashed.

if what you guys saw from this one that Drake
Kendrick rivalry is actually heated in between Canada and USA,
not only in cricketing terms as well. I think you're
going to go there and to get people hyped up
for the game of cricket in America. This was a
great game. Yeah, that was to be a part of.
And how good was Aaron Jones.

Aaron Jones slog of the Weekend. I think we're going
to just easily give that him the award for that
one ninety four or forty. I think I said three
balls out of the stadium, but I might have missed
a couple. They were trying, they lost a couple of balls.
There was just balls flying everywhere. Yeah, you saw that inning,
Aaron Jones.

He went absolutely bonker. Yeah, it was great to watch.

And as you said, I mean what a pinnacle for
starting the T twenty World Cup. Yeah, Us first Canada.
It was a great game for me the dally while

went pretty hard when he had to, but also just
knocked it around. Corey Anderson bowling absolute doomies around left doomies.
But you know he got a wicket first ball. And

Nicholas Curtin from Canada, he actually impressed me. I reckon
he's going to have an innings where he's going to
go bonkers breakheut sort of player.

I do think that he's going to have a really

they were struggling two for forty two at the start
and then Aaron Joe just came in ninety four or forty.
That could be one of the best.

Things I saw that Canada posted one hundred and ninety
four and then I checked in and America were one
for four for the first over and I'm like, they
already lost the wiket.

I like it very nice. Ah. Yeah, So they're awesome. USA,
you get the first one on the board. Canada just

think five in a row now against USA. They had
four warm up games. Just they just can't get over
the line against against the USA. But they should be
pretty happy with that performance because I think that was
the first ever World Cup match, So pretty good. All right.
We already talked a little bit about the disappointing crowd,
but it was an interesting match. P and G versus

the West Indies in Guyana home game. Obviously for the
West Indies in their tournament. You've got P ANDNG not
a good score, but they were okay with the ball
one hundred and thirty six for eight. Then you got
the West End's one hundred and thirty seven for five
off nine eight. So actually, when I saw one hundred
and thirty six PG made, I thought, no way that
this is going to go longer than like ten overs. Twelves.
It's gone nine eight overs. That's what's going on.

Especially after the Windys hit well two hundred and forty
against st Yeah, no hundred and fifty something in the
warm five. I think, yeah, ridiculous. I know, sort of
a controlled innings, so I guess if you call it that, know,
the crowds sort of match the game. It was kind
of dead, but you know, it was a sort of
a tactical battle, which is interesting to see in the
twenty twenty for mat Yeah, yeah, you saw bow you

didn't mind time before I.

Was talking about say say, I think he came into
number three or at the top. He he was really.

Again, it was a little bit slow innings, but he
controlled it very well and played some really nice shots.
He's actually quite good in the eye to watch some
shots over cover and through extra cover. Really good to watch.
And again I'm pretty interested to see him about the tournament.
I think if you can just kind of knock it
around and be a bit of an anchor for them
for PNG, you know, they might get a win or two.

The spinner, he's awesome, well, the spinner in Swinger, he's
left arm like his in swinger is deadly and he
knocked over Siaka which was an absolute beauty as well,

PG fifty or forty three Chase? What did he end

Yeah, which is which is what you need. Everyone was
sort of st with that pitch as well. Obviously P
and J are a much lower ranked team the West Indies,
but he had to get he needed that inning because
they only got it done in the nineh which surprised me.

Look, although they still have Dre Russ coming in at seven,
I know that is Look, it's so exciting, and you've
got Nicholas Perren who smashed the Aussies around. He wasn't great,
but he was sort of steady with his twenty seven
basically a run a ball yep. So look, probably not
the result. The wind is sort of wanted to make
it like a statement making sort of win their first

game on the home deck, but wins to win.

Yeah, they'll take it. They just need to get out
of the line. I think. Yeah, they need a build
from that though, because you should be making one thirty
six the pitch wasn't as bad as some of the
other ones in New York. Whereas it's their home sort
of ground. It's their home ground. I should be doing
a little bit better than that, so I was a
bit surprised that it got that close. So awesome effort
by P and G bowlers. I actually wrote in there
the captain of P and G Asad Vala two for two,
so not two two, that would be pretty that'd be

an awesome effort. Two for twenty eight with his office.
So he's another one to watch, So Bao and Vala.
This is a few guys, as Tom mentioned that you
can watch from different teams. That going to be very
that's the best thing about this tournament. Yeah, yeah, there's
going to be especially in T twenty. There's guys that
can make quick runs, get a few wickets. It's going
to be pretty exciting. All right, Let's get to the
game of the tournament. So far, I'd say I didn't
think i'd be saying this, Aman versus Namibia. You've got

some very low scores one hundred and nine each and
then it goes to a super over. Lads, we've had
our first super over in the three games. I absolutely
love superovers. I think I was. I was always predicting
super overs in the Big Bash and they never happened.
But we got it super over finally. What happened here, lads,
That is unbelievable.

That's nuts. Reuben trump Woman Yeah, yeah, he looked brilliant,
like he's going to be a player to look out for.
And great name as well. He started, He started great, started.
You got two wickets off the first two balls of
the gamesous and he was bold sanstry crushes just like
they were.

Also to absolutely plumb lbst stay and good left arm
in swing bowler. Yeah, has taken wickets for four at
a T twenty World Cup. He took some wickets in
the previous one as well, But he just started the
game up and I think it kind of was the
flow of the game after that. It was a bit
of a dog fight from both the ones. Yeah, it
was pretty slow. But David weis.

Yeah, Liisa, he is awesome. So he played for South
Africa back in the day a fair bit, so he's
very experienced on the on the international stage. He got
the man of the match. So I actually before we
talk about we said the last over we'll talk about
before you get to the superov because Wesa dominated in
the superover. You've got the last over. I don't know
if you guys saw Namibia. They needed five runs, that's all.
They needed five runs, so they choked that big time

and only got four. Then on the very last ball,
the keeper misses the stumping, which would have guaranteed I'm
on the win, and then they've gone and lost it
in the super hover. So both teams are just trying
to out choke each other. No one really wanted to
not really wanted to win this in the last over.
But yeah, Lisa three for twenty eight. It was awesome.
Just he had so much energy. He's got the long locks.
Now he looks like a completely different man. I looked
him up a bit older at thirty nine. He's still

dominating that he had nine not out with the bat.
Then he's coming into the super over one for ten
and then thirteen o four So that was isn't.

Yeah, even Erasmus was hitting some crazy shots. He hit
one was a wide york outside off and he's lap

Yeah, there were some of the shots I saw and
my un batsman as well. Just play that similar sort
of shot where he's no looked outside off and he's
sort of whipped it towards steep square for for a
boundary and that those days we've got to get queried

I reckon Namibia might surprise a few Trumpman, Yeah, exactly,
and like, look, Wes has played a lot of cricket,
he's been around for a long time. He might actually
drag him to a few wins off his own bowling

At the start of the time, I think we said
Scotland would beat Namibia, but they could easily beat Scotland.
