Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, welcome back to the Cricket Today podcast. I'm
your host, Liam McCallion, also known as the Stats Guy.
No Liam Malalley. I hope he's alive in Europe somewhere.
But we've got Tom Clark. He's back back from the
live stream. He's been on Absolute Cricket Nerds, so we
need some more cricket energy on this.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I'm very well Cricket Nerd. I think enough is probably.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Look, thanks for having me, guys, super keen to get
into the T twenty World Cup. Been some good games
to start, so ready to unpack.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Awesome Tom from Cricket Today.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Actually yeah, Tom from Cricket Today, Tom from Punts is
Tom from Anything you wanted to be as also here
as always, I'm not as excited for him to be on,
but he's Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
I'm happy. I'm happy. It's there's been some good games
to get us on the way and hopefully that trend continues.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah. Yeah, So it's T twenty World Cup. Times started
over the weekend in Dallas, the home of cricket they
call over there, absolutely awesome in Texas. We're going to
cover the first four games, going to have a bit
of a yena we love doings on our Today podcast
some news, so game wrapped and all. Then we're going
to do looking at our tipping competition that we probably
put out on the socials at some point, but we
have to worry about that a few other reasons.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
And then yeah, so let's get right into the news.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Before we start, though, be sure to check this podcast
out on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Make sure you subscribe
on the YouTube. But we're doing road to a thousands
still markets.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
You were doing good. I think our group B preview
right almost four k okay.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Fit six hundred, so yeah, one start to the workout, yeah,
and then road to I think it's about twenty TikTok.
We're trying to get little mindf'd twenty out early. Yep.
Geez al right, I rode to thirty to fifty?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Why not? All right, let's go. Let's start with the news, lads.
I just put this one in there for a laugh.
Do Warner and Mitch marsh play for your gander? Now?
That was very funny photos.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
They look so awkward you're seeing their photos with a
whole ugaining team and then, like Mitch Marshall, they were
warned just standing in the middle just.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Like I don't know, it was pretty cool they saw
him in the in the lobby or something and just
the team's getting around. Why not when you're like Australia.
Some of the best teams that were India, they're like
the celebrities. Even though during the same tournament. I don't
know how you saw that, Tom.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, exactly right. It was a bit unusual. Like I
love the game to kick because it's so.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah yeaheah, mis Marsh, I think said you stole the
Aussies yellow because I said in an hour one, I'd
rather the gold or the yellow for our kid.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
But have you seen it.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Look, it's just the main boring.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah, it's just a little bit boring. I like a
bit of flamboyancy. It's a twenty twenty you know, it's
all about having a bit of fun and yeah, a
bit of entertainment. So yeah, it's a little bit dull
for me. But you know, as you said, Liam, I'd
love to see the gold back.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, I think because you've got South Africa wearing the gold,
You've got your Ganda wearing the gold, and then I
don't know if for South Africa, surely we get for
already been winning everything. They didn't put the pen to
paper for that one. Next one in the news, I
just put it in here because it's funny and we
like talking about Pakistan players. They did this whole photo
shoot with cowboy hats the Pakistan team that was very weird.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
I love think I saw that on the side missed.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Out, but I'm very intrigued to have a look.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Just get fetured in your mind just a bit above
as a bit of I mean a few of the
other players just randomly wearing cowboy hats doing a photo shoot.
Very strange. I don't know who ticked that off for
the Pakistan team, but yeah, hopefully they back it up
with their play because I was very weird photoshoot on
the World Cup socials.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
If you want to check that out, I can't. I
can't find it after this after.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Just pictured it in your head, just all the boys
wearing cowboy with cow Yeah, they were.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Trying to sexy in that cowboy absolutely all right, Mar,
because you've put it in a NA.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
We like to start our shows with the yena. Even
on Football Today AFL today, we have some nas. What
do you go from, of course, is cricket dying. It's
a bit of a dark one start.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
This is the franchise that's supposed to be bringing cricket
back into its heyday, like putting it in corners. But
no one was at West Indies first, I know Papua
New Guinea, but the tournament was played in the West Indian. Yeah,
West Indians love the cricket. The game was scheduled at
ten am, which is a weird time. That's what david
local time was on the weekend, was it.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, Look, I wouldn't say dying.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, take out the word dying because you've literally got
seats for seventy five dot. That's a joke. I think,
like I know that it's a World Cup and overseas,
like I went to the one in England, you can
you can, you can probably charge that because they're going
to sell out and just the cricketing sort of nation
Western needs have been up and down. Don't charge seventy
five bucks, Charge twenty or thirty bucks and they'd fill
the stadium, especially in Barbados as well. Yeah, even for
a group a group game that Western is the first
(04:12):
ping who's paying seventy five bucks.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
I wouldn't pay seventy five dollars for that.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I know you guys, but I think we just need
to wait and see. I think it's very early cool,
but I mean it's a good point. It is a
home series for the West Indies. But yeah, I think
we'll just sit tight.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Well maybe the next couple of I think it will
build into it a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
I think so once we Super eights and the bigger
nations clash off against each other, we see some some
more people in the crowds.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
But no, I knew rule. You can't mention cricket dying
on this.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
It's just the enough I'm not saying on that one. No,
I love cricket because I think Test cricket is still
a pinnacle of cricket. Yeah, but I don't know. It
was a little bit concerning that nation had no crowd.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Fair enough, fair enough, We'll see. Yeah, we can have
a look at the West in his next crowd and
see if they built for that one. All right, game wraps.
First one, as I said, the Home of Cricket, Dallas, Texas.
I just I couldn't believe I was sitting on my
couch watching the US national anthem.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Us you invested with that actually the Weekend. You're weird.
I can't believe that.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
No, I can't believe it. So it was Canada versus
the USA. Canada started off one ninety four for five,
their best performance I think ever against USA that had
and built up matches where they got absolute smatch smashed.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
But they were awesome with the bat. I don't know
if what you guys saw from this one that Drake
Kendrick rivalry is actually heated in between Canada and USA,
not only in cricketing terms as well. I think you're
going to go there and to get people hyped up
for the game of cricket in America. This was a
great game. Yeah, that was to be a part of.
And how good was Aaron Jones.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Aaron Jones slog of the Weekend. I think we're going
to just easily give that him the award for that
one ninety four or forty. I think I said three
balls out of the stadium, but I might have missed
a couple. They were trying, they lost a couple of balls.
There was just balls flying everywhere. Yeah, you saw that inning,
Aaron Jones.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
He went absolutely bonker. Yeah, it was great to watch.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
And as you said, I mean what a pinnacle for
starting the T twenty World Cup. Yeah, Us first Canada.
It was a great game for me the dally while
at the top. Yeah, he was also very controlled innings,
went pretty hard when he had to, but also just
knocked it around. Corey Anderson bowling absolute doomies around left doomies.
But you know he got a wicket first ball. And
(06:17):
Nicholas Curtin from Canada, he actually impressed me. I reckon
he's going to have an innings where he's going to
go bonkers breakheut sort of player.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I think.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
So.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
It's from Barados and he has a Canadian mother, so
I do think that he's going to have a really
big innings in the tournament, hopefully sooner rather than later.
For Canada in the hunt, it wasn't too bad, but yeah,
there we go curtain.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
There's a bit of a standout play. Don't mind that
they were struggling two for forty two at the start
and then Aaron Joe just came in ninety four or forty.
That could be one of the best.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Things I saw that Canada posted one hundred and ninety
four and then I checked in and America were one
for four for the first over and I'm like, they
already lost the wiket.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
This is going to be too He says it was done.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
But in kme here Jordan, that's a new nickname for me.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I like it very nice. Ah. Yeah, So they're awesome. USA,
you get the first one on the board. Canada just
they don't know how to beat them. They've lost i
think five in a row now against USA. They had
four warm up games. Just they just can't get over
the line against against the USA. But they should be
pretty happy with that performance because I think that was
the first ever World Cup match, So pretty good. All right.
We already talked a little bit about the disappointing crowd,
but it was an interesting match. P and G versus
(07:25):
the West Indies in Guyana home game. Obviously for the
West Indies in their tournament. You've got P ANDNG not
a good score, but they were okay with the ball
one hundred and thirty six for eight. Then you got
the West End's one hundred and thirty seven for five
off nine eight. So actually, when I saw one hundred
and thirty six PG made, I thought, no way that
this is going to go longer than like ten overs. Twelves.
It's gone nine eight overs. That's what's going on.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Especially after the Windys hit well two hundred and forty
against st Yeah, no hundred and fifty something in the
warm five. I think, yeah, ridiculous. I know, sort of
a controlled innings, so I guess if you call it that, know,
the crowds sort of match the game. It was kind
of dead, but you know, it was a sort of
a tactical battle, which is interesting to see in the
twenty twenty for mat Yeah, yeah, you saw bow you
(08:07):
didn't mind time before I.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Was talking about say say, I think he came into
number three or at the top. He he was really.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Good to watch.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Again, it was a little bit slow innings, but he
controlled it very well and played some really nice shots.
He's actually quite good in the eye to watch some
shots over cover and through extra cover. Really good to watch.
And again I'm pretty interested to see him about the tournament.
I think if you can just kind of knock it
around and be a bit of an anchor for them
for PNG, you know, they might get a win or two.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
I san as well.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
The spinner, he's awesome, well, the spinner in Swinger, he's
left arm like his in swinger is deadly and he
knocked over Siaka which was an absolute beauty as well,
and then Rost and Chase getting it done.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yeah, he was pretty good. So you got bow for
PG fifty or forty three Chase? What did he end
up on?
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Was it forty twenty seven?
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Yeah, which is which is what you need. Everyone was
sort of st with that pitch as well. Obviously P
and J are a much lower ranked team the West Indies,
but he had to get he needed that inning because
they only got it done in the nineh which surprised me.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Look, although they still have Dre Russ coming in at seven,
I know that is Look, it's so exciting, and you've
got Nicholas Perren who smashed the Aussies around. He wasn't great,
but he was sort of steady with his twenty seven
basically a run a ball yep. So look, probably not
the result. The wind is sort of wanted to make
it like a statement making sort of win their first
(09:29):
game on the home deck, but wins to win.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yeah, they'll take it. They just need to get out
of the line. I think. Yeah, they need a build
from that though, because you should be making one thirty
six the pitch wasn't as bad as some of the
other ones in New York. Whereas it's their home sort
of ground. It's their home ground. I should be doing
a little bit better than that, so I was a
bit surprised that it got that close. So awesome effort
by P and G bowlers. I actually wrote in there
the captain of P and G Asad Vala two for two,
so not two two, that would be pretty that'd be
(09:52):
an awesome effort. Two for twenty eight with his office.
So he's another one to watch, So Bao and Vala.
This is a few guys, as Tom mentioned that you
can watch from different teams. That going to be very
that's the best thing about this tournament. Yeah, yeah, there's
going to be especially in T twenty. There's guys that
can make quick runs, get a few wickets. It's going
to be pretty exciting. All right, Let's get to the
game of the tournament. So far, I'd say I didn't
think i'd be saying this, Aman versus Namibia. You've got
(10:14):
some very low scores one hundred and nine each and
then it goes to a super over. Lads, we've had
our first super over in the three games. I absolutely
love superovers. I think I was. I was always predicting
super overs in the Big Bash and they never happened.
But we got it super over finally. What happened here, lads,
That is unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
That's nuts. Reuben trump Woman Yeah, yeah, he looked brilliant,
like he's going to be a player to look out for.
And great name as well. He started, He started great, started.
You got two wickets off the first two balls of
the gamesous and he was bold sanstry crushes just like
they were.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Also to absolutely plumb lbst stay and good left arm
in swing bowler. Yeah, has taken wickets for four at
a T twenty World Cup. He took some wickets in
the previous one as well, But he just started the
game up and I think it kind of was the
flow of the game after that. It was a bit
of a dog fight from both the ones. Yeah, it
was pretty slow. But David weis.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Yeah, Liisa, he is awesome. So he played for South
Africa back in the day a fair bit, so he's
very experienced on the on the international stage. He got
the man of the match. So I actually before we
talk about we said the last over we'll talk about
before you get to the superov because Wesa dominated in
the superover. You've got the last over. I don't know
if you guys saw Namibia. They needed five runs, that's all.
They needed five runs, so they choked that big time
(11:27):
and only got four. Then on the very last ball,
the keeper misses the stumping, which would have guaranteed I'm
on the win, and then they've gone and lost it
in the super hover. So both teams are just trying
to out choke each other. No one really wanted to
not really wanted to win this in the last over.
But yeah, Lisa three for twenty eight. It was awesome.
Just he had so much energy. He's got the long locks.
Now he looks like a completely different man. I looked
him up a bit older at thirty nine. He's still
(11:49):
dominating that he had nine not out with the bat.
Then he's coming into the super over one for ten
and then thirteen o four So that was isn't.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Twenty one off the super rover? Yeah, Namibia? That is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah, even Erasmus was hitting some crazy shots. He hit
one was a wide york outside off and he's lap
sweeped it for six the other deep four. I think
it was on the other side. Awesome efforts.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Yeah, there were some of the shots I saw and
my un batsman as well. Just play that similar sort
of shot where he's no looked outside off and he's
sort of whipped it towards steep square for for a
boundary and that those days we've got to get queried
tom down for the next next person.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
I reckon Namibia might surprise a few Trumpman, Yeah, exactly,
and like, look, Wes has played a lot of cricket,
he's been around for a long time. He might actually
drag him to a few wins off his own bowling
and batting and leadership as well.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
So I actually think Namibia might chance Scotland.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
At the start of the time, I think we said
Scotland would beat Namibia, but they could easily beat Scotland.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Yeah they got that's their Australia's group with Australia in England,
so I won't know they weren't. They were like if
they make a game out of like one of those two, yeah,
that's great progress.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I just think it'd be a watch.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yeah. Twenty ONELD Cup, the groups were a bit different,
but they didn't make it out of the group stage.
So yeah, that'd be pretty cool if they do that again.
They are one to watch. I'm yeah, we've talked about
trump them a lot, but great name, just bowling heat.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
He's got, He's got the locks as well.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah, the best hair him or even Wesa has the
long Who's the best.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Hare in the tournament? I'm not sure. Off the top
of my head, I was going to playing always got
the best eyebrows. I don't know if you want to
watch those, you want to watch the whighlights of the game.
I very much recommend it, but just don't watch it
with any kids around because it was a bit of
(13:44):
a choke. It was a bit of a choking. As
I let's move to.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Great Great seg Shakers at Africa. I thought this is
going to be one of the matches of the tournament
so far. It bowled out for seventy seven. You've got
the Adelaide dropping pitches in Nassau County in New York,
so that maybe might play a factor. South Africa four
for eighty off. Their sixteen point two actually got a
(14:11):
lot closer than it should have. They only made it
in sixteen point two. Over was that seventy seven. Yeah,
what happened in this one.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Month Sri Lanka, Well, we know what. Lea's on holiday
because he's just going into hiding because he said Sri
Lanka would top this group.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Olivia behind the camera socially, Olivia tipped Sri Lanka on
your call, Lea. So if you're watching this, you're a dog.
What are you doing? What is going on with that? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Oh no, they were Both teams were unconvincing. I know
it was. It looked like a bit of a tough wicket.
So obviously the game was on at like twelve thirty
Australian time in the morning, a bit of a tough
tough watch for US. So I've looked over the high
last morning and look, I know it did look like
a tough wicket, but I think there were a lot
of those wickets, particularly for Sri Lanka through away. I
(14:53):
don't know. I was really unconvincing. More towards South Africa.
I sort of expected, didn't expect Srilanka to do this bad,
To make seventy seven in a World.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Cup as embarrassing. Put your head, Yeah, yeah, I think
that maybe would a stronger fight. Maybe I would.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Beach Flanka if they played against each.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Other, right, I don't know, maybe each of them in five.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
Yeah, in the same did you say.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
How good was it watching someone bowl rockets? Yeah, yeah,
I mean four for seven or four overs.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I can't remember better figures than that. No, that's my head.
Even in just twenty comes around the world. That's the
best figures in.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
A long time. That's that's the equivalent of like eight
for thirty in st match group exactly.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
It is.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yeah, like you know, he's bowling quick.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
He topped one fifty, which is great, and you know,
I think I don't think anyone internationally would want to
face Norkia on a bit of a dodging with big
square boundaries as well, hard to get him away, but yeah,
it was great watching him, and obviously Maharaj bowl pretty
well as well.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah. Yeah, the balls bowlers are really good. Like you said, Actually, Tom,
you've got the square bands, just say that they're a
bit a bit longer at that Natal Candy ground.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah, big, big square boundaries. So a few of the
schlanking but got caught on the fence. So I think
just adapt him to the conditions probably going forward. A
lot of the other teams will try to hit straight
and the bowlers alternatively will try banging into the pitch
make the teams hit at square. But as he said,
Sri Lanka, sorry South Africa. They didn't really dominate with
the bat. They did what they had to do. But
(16:18):
I don't think it's panic signs yet for Sri Lanka.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
No. I think we'll find out more on some of
the other pitches.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Maybe yeah, I think so, but I mean, you know,
kudos to South Africa. They were clinical with the ball
and then just got it done with the bat.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Yep, positive songs for Sri Lanka though. I thought Hasarranga
he bowled well.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
He's always good.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
On the one. I think he the second second best
tween twenty bowler in the world.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
He's led a couple of tournaments in the last five
years four wickets, So he's awesome, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
And I think I thought despite only like going at
a runner ball, I thought Angela and Matthews as well,
was was pretty good with the.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Batle Tom has some old Angelo and Matthews that he
needs is to get out of here.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
He's been look just pass on the bat. He's been
around for a long time. He's thirty seven good cricket out,
but you know, in the previous World Cup it so
slowly he actually backed them out of a handful of games.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Well, if he does that run a ball, which is
okay on this sort of pitch, but we'll see on
the other pitches if he can, he needs to wrap that.
He's to get at least one twenty one to thirty
striker rather than that one hundred striker.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
The games evolved. I mean, look at the IPL. Yeah,
the scores pretty much. If he didn't make two hundred.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Didn't win yet time.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
So yeah, and again the slow wickets, I think, you know,
two hundred big good score.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
But still Angelo get a move on enough.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
He's getting the big calls in first. I like it.
I like it. Tipping results so far, we've all tipped
the same. It's been pretty pretty easy tipping so far.
So we've all got four Olivia behind the camera. Three
because of Leo that Leo talked up Shlanka. Also my
mate Zach Margaritis, he's in the tipping comp as well,
and he's etyp shal Anka as well. I don't know
if he'd heard Leo's talking on the podcast as well,
(17:47):
I think or did he tip of marn as well?
Speaker 4 (17:49):
I think he's on if I remember correctly.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Yeah, that's no good. I think he might have tipped
a man and yeah, anyway, that's no good at all.
But we're going all right, four from four. Let's say
if we can keep that streak up, lads and go
through some of the matches that are coming up as
I get it up here. Sorry, the first one that
we're going to talk to is tomorrow tonight. Actually England
verse Scotland. Is this a pretty easy one that we're
going to tip?
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Yeah, I know, I know what you're going to do.
Probably I'm going I'm going to go.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
I am part Scottish and I love love Scotland. I'm
going for them in the Euros. I'll definitely be supporting
them over England in this competition.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
But straightforward, yeah, England. Yeah, England have definitely the chance
of even going all the way, let alone just winning
this game. So England for me comfortably, yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
I tend to agree. I mean England, they have some
outstanding players. Josh Butler, Yeah, Johnny Bearst, Harry Brook.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
I'm excited to see Joff for archerback. Actually likewise, yeah,
because as you said, Tom about the quick bowlers, guys,
they can more close to one fifty and scared he was.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Who was that? Who was was that? Leo's biggest disappointment
Archer this tournament.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
And he said, yeah, because he hasn't played enough cricket, which.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
He was playing second division county cricket. Yeah, which is
like just you're.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Rolling up to second division county cricket, you might have
not played that much cricket.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Facing Joscher.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
The thing about Josh for Archer to he did grow
up in the West Indies and so he knows the
conditions well, so.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
He could bowl absolute rockets. But again, you know, he
could get injured.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
He could get intured. That that's what he's done.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Glass, So yeah, you know, I do hope that he
plays because he's exciting to watch.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
But yeah, England for.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Me, Yeah, actually that's a weird question that thought on
to everyone in the world. Who's the least bowler you'd
want to face? Who's Archer or Mark? Would even he's
a bit chaotic. Yeah, yeah, Archer all time, I'm saying
in the tournament, but yeah, all the time.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
In the tournament all the time, Like Curly Broyeh, even
even like Jeff Thompson. Yeah, I wouldn't want to face
those boys.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
I don't wouldn't want to face it. But is that
is that a thing we're gonna do on the boling machine?
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Yeah? There their face.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
I think the loser of.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
The tipping is going to go on the bowling machine
and face like twenty balls at one fifty.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
It's very if I faced one.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
If im and face one, IM pretty happy with you
face facing over all one fifty five?
Speaker 1 (20:02):
What would you were going? You ever in mine?
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Well, we're dropping the balls by a few overs and
there's going to be a consequence. I'm already nervous. Netherlands
Nepole next one. This is going to be a little
bit closer.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Nepole actually been pretty good in the qualifying to this tournament,
but Netherlands not gonna be close. Neverland's on paper actually
have a decent team. What do you guys reckon Land's Netherlands.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Netherlands for me?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Scotty Edwards yeah good good Melbourne boy keeper batsman, also
the captain. He's probably due for a big tournament, did
pretty well at the od I World Cup last year
and max O doubt as well.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Yeah, I also do like he's been really good. Yeah,
you got bas De Lead and Logan van Beek who
were really good at the last T twenty World Cup
pacet baller, so I'm excited to watch them as well.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Also before we move on, very interested to see Tim Pringle.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Plays still or if you want a sponsorship, we should
get a Pringle can put his face on it, and.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
That is not a bad idea. Actually, if he if
he gets at least a wicket, we're going to be
talking about him for twenty minutes. And with finger care,
I've told.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
You Netherlands will qualify out of Group D and now
with Sri Lanka getting absolutely net run rate of minus
one point zero four to eight, the doors open for
the Dutch. There, I'm telling you, if they can get
off to a win here, a good win, Yeah, they're
gonna progress.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Okay, that's a big call.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
That's what we have on the show. Last one India Island.
I would be so funny if Ireland win, but surely
they have no chance. They're coming off a win against Pakistan,
won out of the three games in that series, so
they're not too bad. They've improved a lot in the
last five or even six years Ireland. But surely India
absolutely romm yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
One hundred percent. India are the favorites for the tournament. Yeah,
clear to see why. They're probably the best team in
the world coming straight off for twenty twenty tournament in
their home nation. Yep, they should get the job done easily.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Moral for me.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
India, Yeah, what are they going to make if they
bat first?
Speaker 2 (21:49):
I was just thinking they drew.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
That's like the Cricket Live thousand and five.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
I think, yeah, if they bat first, I just think
they win. I can't them not winning here. I mean
Paul Sterling at.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
The top, he's fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
He can whack it, he can whack it. But yeah,
they're just going to be too good India.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yeah, he's a standard deliver type operator, Paul Steling. He's
going to be hitting some bombing.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
The high score ever in twenty twenty Crickets three hundred
and fourteen.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Well, I don't think they're going to get out. But
Nepal Nepole is against Mongolia. Ah, the Paywerhouse of Mongolia,
unlucky Tongol.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
And then when was that yeah last year? Oh yeah,
late last year. Sun Rise was against RCB. It was
second was that in the IPL the season eighty.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Seven to thirty seven? That's right, ye yeah, okay up
to Sunrises even though we lost in the final as
another podcast with that one. All right, I think that's it.
