over there, but they're still ready to go. Leo Malalley,
Marcus Barzana. How are we lads?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Going all right? You Marcus, that was a bit of
a drive boy smelly well Marks did fart before the show?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah, we need to We're not smell that if I
was you. Yeah, I don't know what you guys are
doing over there. For more cricket content and across all sports,

Marcus myself, you've chucked up a Odds article as.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
Well for the Third Test preview. Yes, a little cluster
for the Third Test, so looking looking forward to it
on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
On Sunday, Yes, it'll be very and it's actually really
good timing for us, which we will touch on. We're
going to awesome shows we go through the third Test
of the Frank Worrel Trophy. We're going to predicted lineups,
the key players, everything in between. The match predictions. But
before we start, make sure you get it right around
the show on Spotify. Up for podcasts, subscribe to the
YouTube channel as well as all the socials Cricket Today,
aure everything. Now, that's just to get right into it.
(01:02):
It's actually a pink ball and day at night test,
so wow, Leo, you just so, we did some research
before and there's there's a bit of a worry about
the lights over in Jamaica.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
The venue conditions are a bit of a worry, so
there's no guarantee it's going to be a pig ball test,
but I think they said they were confident it'll be
all right.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, it was very the head of Jamaica Cricket said
it should be good. That was just like the lights
aren't as if they haven't sort of this.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
They very chill about it.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Yeah, they're very chill.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
I like it's a vibes test match.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
It is a vibe test match. In terms of pink
ball tests.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Australia are twelve and one in these matches, absolutely dominant
as always, so that'd be really interesting to watch. But
it will be our first pink test game abroad, yes correct,
which we are very good at home. Anyway, so that's
why the record is good. So that'll be interesting. Makes
I think it makes it more interesting, especially Australia. It
was close, but they won pretty easily in the end,
(01:57):
Australia the first two tests, so hopefully it maybe evens
it up with the pink ball. All right, let's get
into the third test. Our predictor lineup slads. Marcus, you're
going to cover Australia again. This time we got off
to my home yep, as all of us.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I'll cover the.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
I was going to do it in a Jamaican accent.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Might be getting canceled with just joking.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Kwaja Conscious opening pair. Conscious will keep his spot. As
pointed out, we're going Can Green, Steve Smith, Travis Sander,
Bow Webster, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Stark, Nathan Lyon
and Josh Hazewood. So that is an unnamed eleven unchanged
eleven sorry unnamed unchanged, Yes, unchanged. You've also got Stark
(02:41):
set to play one hundredth tests. This apparently third test
between the West Ndies was very last minute according to
like the fixture and things like that, and he's.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Trying to get me based off of the venue.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Yes, So he was.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Trying to get his family Alssa heally over there and
they can't because very last minute.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
So it's a bit sad for him.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Drop him, drop him, play Coonerman him.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
And then he'll play the first Test. Do we have
another series of Test series? Play hundreds in the Ashes?
That'd be pretty cool. Do we play South Africa again?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
I think that's a short form.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
The short form.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Okay, well, first Ashes Test match in Australia, Mitch Dark
hundreds Tests.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Bring back Rory Burns as well.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Just Burns up to potentially the worst criocket I've ever
seen in my life, he felt, and I've seen myself play.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
He's shocking.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
So you're better than English former England opener Rory Burns.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
I reckon I could do better than him against Mitchell stuff,
against Mitchell stuff, Yeah, well.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
That's a big call. I've also got cam Green. He
lifted with a handy fifty two last game Marcus.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
I was I wanted to see something from him, and
a fifty in this series is like pretty good?
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Be sure?
Speaker 5 (03:45):
He sure did.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
We needed we needed an innings from somewhere because a
little bit light on the batt in front.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
We have.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Particularly particularly in the top order, and he delivered, so
hopefully he can back it up again and comes strong
when it comes to the Ashes in five months time.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Absolutely, are you just said?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
The middle order Kerry Webster that've just been making multiples.
Kerry got made in the match. The middle order is
just really strong. And Webster looks like he's been playing
Test cricket for years. He's so good.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, he does look good, doesn't he. He's a bit
susceptive on the old LB. This the slug, but.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Well it doesn't help that his legs are about one
and a half meters tall.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
He's got levers. Just get down on the ball side.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
But if only our top order could just combine for
what one hundred more runs?
Speaker 5 (04:32):
I know, I'm not asking fifty more runs even.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Other than Smith making seventy one constantly starting nothing, I'm
really excited to see Sami consist with the pink pall.
Actually see what.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
He does moving around? Keep doing you mate?
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah some fun?
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Yeah we are.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
We We're a pod that a show that backs Sami
cons in the team. Correct, Like, even if it's going
to take a while, I think it will eventually click
for him.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I am, but we need to be careful because he
he is very much not how Australians are meant to play.
And in like Test cricket, you know what I mean,
like we are we want to be traditional. He's shown
us that he's the flair, he's the.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Ball, the bad boy, the bad word.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
That one out. No you don't, Gerald, I'm just joking.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
But I just think if we balance it out right
that so he can be himself but also is just
getting the best out of himself then yeah, but.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
More honestly like David Warner was he started, he started
like that.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
David Warner wasn't ramping.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Because that balls like.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Day also they headed their first constance is better than Warner.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Okay, there we go. We've also got Nathan Line. I
thought he lifted in the last Test.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
He got a bit more of an opportunity to take
some wickets, so he got six wickets, which.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
I was really happy with them.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Do we know, do we know how close our balls
are to these milestones? But after that last Test match
we'd have to double check on that.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, I think the closest probably is still comming because
he got still a few wickets as well, So there's
a few milestones that are coming up, and we'll have
to watch them in the in the new Test.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
All right, Leo, you.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Love the West Indies, Let's get the West Indies predicted line.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Predicted lineup, it's their last lineup.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
Well apparently changed. They played pretty well.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, they played pretty well, didn't they. They played pretty well,
didn't they?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
They just lost two back to back Test matches by
one hundred plus runs.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Craig Brathwaite, John Campbell, Kasey Carti, Brandon King, rosst and
Chase show Hope, Justin Greeves, Azari, Joseph Shama, Joseph Philip
and Seals was the last team they pulled out on
the park. Brandon King, he was really good batting at
four in that first great seventy five of one hundred
and eight balls. Put it back on the Aussies a
(06:44):
little bit and I love to see that. But we
just need more from around him. Kasey Carty has.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Let me down big time. I talked to him.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
I know he's not uping his average of seventeen or
whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
I think he's made seventeen combined so far in both
It wouldn't surprise me if he was dripped and they
look to bring in someone else.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yep. And on the bowler's side, I was aorr Joseph.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
I thought out a bit of form last match because
the first Test he was a bit he didn't get
really good. It was a third verst quick and last
match he got four in the first sittings. He looked
a lot more lively. So those three quicks firing, you know,
it's no it's no slous So they could just fix
their batting.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I mean they're a little bit like us.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, I agree. Their bowlers have been awesome. You've got
in the last columnar year. I think Seals has the
same amount of wickets as Comments, which is pretty interesting.
I know that they might have played some different teams,
but Seals has been really good. And then both Joseph
sort of go handing in one will play really well,
one will still play decent, then the other one will
get a few more wickets.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
They're scary bowling.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, just a little.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
I'm a little bit disappointedly I didn't do that in
the Jamaican accent.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Yeah, next time.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Next time, Why don't they they sign up for like
a Patreon and then get some exclusive content behind the scenes.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
US canceling ourselves.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I don't even think we should even do stuff that
on the beach. Third Test predictions, let's do it. Lad's
Australia one by one hundred and fifty nine runs in
the first Test, then one by one hundred and thirty
three in the second Test. Dominated, but still need to
live with the with the bat overall. As we discussed before,
let's go best bowler first up. We'll start with Leo.
Who's gonna be the best bowler in this pink bowl Test?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Well, yeah, we're assuming it's pink ball, so I'm looking
none other than Mitchell Stark. He's class, he has with
the pink ball, gets it swing in both ways and
a bit of reverse swing too.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Why not? So I have to go with him.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
Yeah, I don't mind that one, Marcus.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I'm gonna go with Hazel Daddy, Hazel.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
Hazelwood.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
He's going to be the man.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
I love this guy.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Just hits the spots and you will get a little
bit of extra nip as well with that pink ball,
which will beat the outside edge.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
What if they dropping for Kernerman, Nah, negative, I don't
do that.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
I don't think they're going to do that either, especially
with the pink ball.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
I think because the quicks have been.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
So good as well.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
This series, yep, which we didn't really think was going
to be a high lot so true.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Yep, that's been really got his pack commings.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
I think he's got the second most pinkball wickets behind Starky,
so Stark is a fair bit ahead. But I still
think Cummens can get to get a few wickets a
little bit more consistency over the both the innings, and
he's going to get a lot of wickets with the
pink ball.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
So we've got no love for any of the Windy's bowlers.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Uh No, wear way more experience with.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
The pick a bit more like hit the deck like singing.
But seals seals, seals moving I reckon out of Seals
and Cummings. Maybe Seals is a watch like as well. Yeah,
best batsman, Marcus.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
You can go first this time I'm going to go
Brandon King. Okay, I was really I was really impressed
with him the last Test match. I think Barbara's arm
some competition for some of the cleanest looking drives because
he was getting out on the front too loudly. Really well,
but you could just tell once. It's a little bit
water of ross stumpy stills, you know, sort of chasing,
so he's susceptible to you know, snicking off to the
(09:51):
second third. But I'll go with Brandon King. Show some
love to the West Indians.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Hazel Daddy and Brandon King. You've got a real thing
for male authority figure.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
Yes that's that's not his past. Worry about that one, Leo,
who you're going, I'm going.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I'm just sticking with Alex Cary did it last test
and I think the low order is going to play
a vital part in this one yet again, as it
has the first two test matches.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
No good call.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
I'm going to go with Steven Smith. I know I
haven't written that in the In the run.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Stephen Peter Dero Smith, he had seventy one. He proved
me wrong. I thought that he might be coming back
a little bit too early, obviously had that finger injury.
He looked strong and I think in the pink ball
people a few pet players might be rattled overseas He's
never rattled that man. He'll be really good and I
think he can he can make the most runs. And
I prove that we still have someone up there in
the top order that can make some runs because no
one else runs.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Smith can just not in Australia. In Australia.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
In Australia, well we made seventy last Test, so I
assume you're going Australia. Then if you've gone both batsman
and bowler, oh.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah, with the pink ball, I think West Indies will
be absolutely rattled. I think, especially after the first two tests.
I reckon we win this by even more.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Interesting I'm going Australia as well. I just yeah, the
same reasons.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Oh yeah, I'll go Australian back. You'll call him as well.
Probably the best win of the series so far. Hopefully
so it'll be even more than one hundred and fifty nine.
That's what I'm linking towards. Yeah, yes, all right, that
stumps for the Cricket Today Show. We'll continue to do
this show throughout the summer. Of course, we've got the
Ashes coming up.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
We've got some short format cricket before that, so we're
very excited for a lot of Ozzie cricket ahead.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Get right around the show. Make sure you subscribed.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Sending any questions of comments, we want some more comments
let let me know how you think Leo's predictions go.
That he always wants to hear from the comments. Yeah, sure,
he loves here and hate at Leo dot Malali. I'm
pretty sure it is.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
It's not sure.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Oh yeah, there we go.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yeah, we're going to continue to go through the comments
over the socials and things like that. Thank you very much,
Brodie and Gerald behind the camera. Thank you, Lynn, No,
thank you, thank you.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
My calls up.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
If you like us on Cricket, then make sure you
watch us do our thing on AFL.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
That's very good call.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Yes, Wednesdays and Sundays, so help on over the comment Yeah,
exactly the same crew as we have on Yeah, for
the AFIL show as well.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
So that's another episode of Cricket Today. Done, we're out
Speaker 4 (12:02):
And then b
