Beau-Anne Chilla is partner bij deeptech-investeerder Forward.One en vertelt in deze aflevering hoe haar team investeringskansen opspoort in de wereld van duurzame hardware-innovatie. Forward.One kiest bewust voor hardware-startups. Dat is ongebruikelijk in venture capital, want hardware is kapitaalintensief en lastig schaalbaar, is de gedachte altijd. Dat ligt gelukkig genuanceerder. Forward.One draagt niet alleen geld bij, maar ook inhoudelijke ondersteuning: hoe scherp je je product aan en hoe positioneer je je in de markt?.
Ook beleidsontwikkelingen komen aan bod. De chaos in de VS biedt volgens Chilla nog altijd kansen voor Europa, zeker nu defensietechnologie weer acceptabel is geworden én men weer trots op het continent is. De verschillen tussen Amerika en Europa blijven groot, maar met een aantal stevige maatregelen zouden we de VS toch nog kunnen bijbenen.
