FC Twente gaat na een midweekse nederlaag bij PSV (3-1) op bezoek bij NEC, Heracles Almelo ontvangt hekkensluiter FC Volendam. In een nieuwe aflevering van de podcast De Warming-up blikken clubwatchers Leon ten Voorde en Ralph Blijlevens met host Frank Bussink vooruit op de duels van de Twentse eredivisieclubs.
Hoe gaat FC Twente voor de dag komen in Nijmegen? Een nederlaag bij PSV kan gebeuren, maar de manier waarop geeft wel te denken, zegt Leon. „Je verwacht in zo'n wedstrijd gewoon meer van ervaren krachten. Jongens als Joshua Brenet en Robin Pröpper moeten zich dan meer laten zien", zegt Leon. „Smal is sinds zijn terugkeer niet dezelfde Smal als vorig seizoen. Van Wolfswinkel was er niet. Vlap viel tegen. Dat stelde me wel teleur.”
Dan door naar het duel in Nijmegen. Daar gaat Joseph Oosting wel terug naar de vertrouwde formatie. Sem Steijn keert weer terug in het elftal. „Misschien is het duel met NEC wel het moment om Younes Taha een keer in de basis te laten starten", zegt Leon. Pijnpuntje is het centrale duo, want Mees Hilgers was de hele week ziek, terwijl Robin Pröpper is geschorst tegen NEC.
Heracles
In Almelo werd deze week in alle rust gewerkt richting het duel met FC Volendam. Personele problemen zijn er bij Heracles nauwelijks, vertelt Ralph. „Het is de vraag of Jordy Bruijn in de basis mag debuteren", zegt Ralph. Maar voor wie? Frank roept de naam van Mario Engels, maar het kan ook maar zo zijn dat Bruijn op de plek van Marko Vejinovic gaat spelen.
Met de zege op RKC in het achterhoofd het RKC in ieder geval met vertrouwen naar het duel met Volendam toegewerkt. „Van de Looi hoopt de lijn die in Waalwijk is ingezet door te trekken", vertelt Ralph. De speelwijze blijft volgens de clubwatcher hetzelfde. Wel zal de ploeg meer het spel willen maken. Volendam gaat niet het initiatief pakken, denkt Leon. „Volendam gaat de bus parkeren, ja", zegt Ralph.
