Voor ons in Nederland is het vanzelfsprekend. Een boekje in de hand en luisteren naar een docent, terwijl je zit te kletsen met je buurman. Voor 263 miljoen kinderen is het niet zo makkelijk. Zij kunnen niet naar school of hebben geen goed onderwijs. Vandaag was ambassadeur van Edukans, Sofie van denk Enk, te gast bij Koffietijd om met ons te praten over onderwijsnood.
Sofie is sinds afgelopen donderdag weer terug uit Kenia. Ze liep tijdens haar bezoek mee op een basisschool om te kijken hoe het daar eraan toegaat. "In Nederland vindt er veel interactie plaats, in Kenia is dat niet zo. Met Edukans willen we ervoor zorgen dat dit beter wordt," vertelt Sofie.
Edukans hoopt een bijdrage te kunnen leveren bij het verbeteren van het onderwijs voor de 263 miljoen kinderen. "Jongeren moeten goed onderwijs krijgen. Elk jaar dat ze extra school krijgen, hebben ze 10% meer kans op onderwijs". Door de deelnemers van de Postcode Loterij krijgt Edukans meer kans om hun doelen waar te maken.
