In de tweede aflevering van Dochters gaat Danique in gesprek met actrice en schrijver Joy Delima. Ze is niet alleen openhartig over de band met haar ouders, maar blikt ook terug op haar jeugd, waarin ze werd gepest. "Als mijn ouders vroegen hoe het was op school, loog ik dat het goed ging. Tot op de dag van vandaag begrijp ik niet goed waarom ik dat deed. Ik wilde nooit dat mijn ouders zich zorgen maakten om mij."
De actrice werd daarnaast meerdere keren verkracht in haar leven, voor het eerst toen ze 17 jaar was. In de podcast deelt ze hoe ze deze afschuwelijke gebeurtenis jarenlang heeft weggestopt en hoe ze er nu op terugkijkt. "Ik had het gevoel alsof ik er geen last van had, tot ik erachter kwam dat ik het eigenlijk nooit verwerkt heb."
