La nueva generación de compositores de Indie folk se construye a sí misma desde las fronteras rotas, viajando a la raíz y transformándola en clave moderna. Son conscientes de las raíces tradicionales de la canción, el innegable legado sociopolítico presente en los songbooks de América Latina, y el crecer con corridos, rancheras, rock español, cumbias y reguetón. Al mismo tiempo, han crecido con acceso a internet y redes sociales, en una de las eras más exitosas de la música latina y en español.
En nuestro episodio 3, La Nueva Raíz, exploramos el cancionero de Silvana Estrada. La Cancionista, compositora y cantante mexicana nació en Veracruz y creció rodeada de música e instrumentos. Con padres luthiers, Silvana retoma las raíces musicales de América Latina para rescatar las leyendas de nuestro folklore y mezclarlas con sus faros musicales actuales. Su primer álbum en solitario, Marchita, la llevó a ascender rápidamente como la nueva voz de México – presentándose en Europa y Estados Unidos, estableciéndose como portadora de un folk único e íntimo. Durante este viaje sonoro, Silvana nos guía a través de su historia y música fundamental, Augusto Bracho, María Arnal, Guitarricadelafuente, Soledad Bravo y Chavela Vargas son algunos de los artistas con los que se formó.
