Depois de obter, nesta semana, a autorização da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa) para produzir a primeira vacina de dose única contra a dengue, o Instituto Butantan já se concentra na ampliação do público-alvo, que por enquanto é o de pessoas de 12 a 59 anos. A informação foi dada nesta sexta-feira por Rosilane de Aquino Silva, diretora de Assuntos Regulatórios, Qualidade e PMO do Butantan, durante entrevista à Rádio Eldorado. “A agência avaliou os dados e considerou que a vacina, nessa faixa populacional de 12 a 59 anos, tem uma absoluta segurança e eficácia de gerar proteção necessária para essa população e ela inicialmente é a população aprovada. O Butantan tem planos de começar ainda esse ano um estudo para estender para a população idosa, que se a gente conseguir atingir o mesmo sucesso dessa primeira etapa vai ser também a primeira vacina da dengue para a população idosa”, afirmou.
