The successful Gaza rescue came shortly after the IAF's very successful pre-emptive strike against Hezbollah in the south of Lebanon, which had imminent plans to launch an imminent massive barrage of rockets and anti-tank missiles into Israel. According to reports, the Israeli strikes not only disrupted Hezbollah's immediate plans, it also inflicted severe damage on their missile infrastructure, including underground facilities.
