Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome back to the Football Today podcast also known as
This Sad Tilda's Podcast. I'm your host Leam mccally and
also as the stats guy. We've got someone who hasn't
slept for two weeks, but she still rocks up every
single day.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Olivia Spicer. How you going, Olivia?

Speaker 3 (00:13):
I've been better, you know, a bit sad, tired. The
Matilda's didn't fall through for me, you know, is what
it is.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
We've also got he's in his Chelsea kid no more,
yeah Matilda stuff on.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Here you go.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Mark.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
It's also a bit sad. We're just all sad. Was
this yer?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
But in order he saw it coming, we did.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
He did a pretty tough group since the first Yeah,
it would have been a tough ass to even get
out of this group.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, well yeah, we should have done a little bit better.
We shouldn't have considered five goals to Zambia. But anyway,
that's that's another thing we can talk about. Make sure
you subscribe to our YouTube channel, get around the Socialist
Football Today AU.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
We're still building.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
We built some subscribers off the last one, so thank
you to all the subscribers. There had some comments, We
actually had some Zambia fan comments. So thank you for
getting around that and keep following for more football Football
Today content. All right, newsticker will start off as always,
We'll start off with the sad part. Matillas are out
really poor. Campaign came down to goal difference in the end,
because we got one win. It was a few teams

(01:04):
on zero wins, but two of the three third place
teams qualify until it was obviously didn't qualify because of
the gold difference. It was only missed out by two
because Brazil's goal difference was zero and as was minus
yeah one or two or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Two.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Sorry, So if we just didn't concede five goals to Zambia,
that would have been handy and would have reated Germany
or yeah three. I think it came down to the deef.
I know our offense wasn't amazing, but I think it
came down to the defense. What do you guys think? Yeah,
one hundred percent agree.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I think that was the worry heading into the campaign, Like,
even without Sam Kerr, you still think we have enough
in the final third to win by goal or less
here and there. But yeah, like conceding five against Zambia
is unacceptable yea.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Sixty fourth ranked team in the world.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
That's just can't be doing that.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah, you knew Tony was scared coming into this USA
game because he had five at the.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Back, and he's still still considered twice.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I know, I know that was brutal.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
The other one, Canada lost their appeal, so they didn't
get their six points back.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
But they still won all three of their games. So
although they.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Cheated with the drones akin or they've been cheating since
twenty sixteen, which I'll get into in a sec, they
still made it through somehow. They won all three of
their games even with a six point deductions.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
They got through on the third place spot that they
could have got through it.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I know, columbiters. I was going to say, yeah, Columbia
should have done their end of the job, but we should.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Just be the USA should just let us win because
they already qualified. I can't we be friends here, you know,
Emma Hayes used to coach Chelsea bestie is a Sam Kerr.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Just come on, that's that's a very good point. I
think just let everyone be friends and let us go through.
No one wants Canada to go through. The other one
was saw Erin Smith actually wrote an article about this
our friend of the show on Code Sports.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
The last Olympics are.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Canada were third, we've got the bronze medal, and Australia
were fourth. Obviously, people are saying that the Mantilla should
have that bronze medal because they've been cheating since twenty sixteen.
So apparently every major tournament, or almost every major tournament
since twenty sixteen, Canada have been spying with drones or
doing some form of cheating. So I don't know what
do you guys reckon about that. I think that's a

(03:02):
bit of a loser mentality, but yeah, yeah, I agree.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
A bit of a pity metal if we actually yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
We probably yeah, we wouldn't deserve it.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
But if Canada are cheating, I'm still going to do
the job, Like the job in the park. I remember,
so I watched Canada when they came over for the
women's walk up against Nigeria, believe and like it was.
It was just a great spectacle, like you can prepare
as much as you want, but we only have two
days practice. And I think you said it before. I
don't think you're focusing on the opposition's tactics as much
as you are your own and solidifying your own team

(03:30):
in tournament football is in tournament football. I don't think
it made a huge influence influence on the on the results.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Not fair enough.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Another one I saw on all these matias groups that
I mean there was people crying. There was there was
a lot of Ossie fans didn't make it to Marseille,
seven hundred and eighty kilometers outside of Paris. There was
a storm that the trains went down, so apparently a
lot of the USA fans were already over there, but
a lot of the Ossie fans were making over their
way that day.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
So that was a bit sad.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
That one probably worth it in the end to be.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
But there was a lot of people that.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Went over there just to see this match anyway, so
they would have would have been sad, and that's annoying.
There's been this whole Paras Olympics has been sand is
just like full of bacterium disease. I wouldn't be one
to swieople.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
The national anthem in the basketball, no, uh, South Sudan
were playing against someone and they get to a national anthems,
They got bood and cheese that's that's very good.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
And then I think they were trying to protest, was
trying to stop the trains as well, and then like
any trains what they could.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, should just be Forest Gump. Just run everywhere, don't
don't catch the trains. They're not working at the moment.
The other one, which will touch on our game wrap
is with that behind the camera. So every show that
he's ever done, he said something cringe Var shambles. I
just wrote down that in uh, that was really weird.
In the game Australia VERSU USA, which would do this
game rap.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Next, they are almost.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Awarded the goal without checking Var when the ref was
told to check VAR because it wasn't working.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
What the hell was the the like in line aside
of yeah, well I think it was fine, fine too,
I think it was fine.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
It was like confused.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
The way they handled it was very weird because because
it wasn't working and the earpiece wasn't working, they were
just going to keep playing even though they were told
to check the out.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
So then Tony cracked it.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, yellow card was happy it was a goal.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah, it was obviously, and the cooling breaks because it
was so hot.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
It was thirty four agrees. Yeah, there were just sweating
buckets that had been boiling over there.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Anyway, let's get into the game. Wrap.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
This might be a bit quicker than the Zambie one
because we actually won that one where we are pretty
biased on this show. Australia vers USA two one to
the US. So the Stars and Stripes, their chants were horrible,
but that's okay. They were doing the I believe that
we were in that champ Like the whole game. I
was like, oh my god, why am I hearing this?
I was want to hear the commentator. Yeah, as you
said before, Olivia Matilda started five at the back. Torpy

(05:48):
early looked a bit shaky in the left back, left
wing back position. I know that it was a very
negative tactic, but I didn't mind five of the back.
I don't know, because it looked okay in the first time.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
It was good in the first time. They still let
the morning quite a few times. Like Maka just shouted
to her she was amazing at the start, Like during
the first thirty five minutes she was great. Yeah, but
then Talkie, I feel like settled nicely into the game,
and yeah, they really got kind of got a bit
of a groove in but yeah, obviously we didn't win, so.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, and then the starting lineup. We were posting about
this at three am in the morning. How the how
did Hayman not start? I know, Rasso is an absolute star,
but she's been one of the best wingers for the
Matilda's not a striker. They're sending long balls to Rasso's
who's tiny, when you could have Hayman up there, who
sized really good headed, and things like, I don't know,
what do you reckon? Marcus has to start?

Speaker 4 (06:35):
I think I think she definitely did, but I think
TG sort of looked at the American center has and
was like, that's a weakness. Yeah, mit a pace and behind, Yeah,
but it hasn't like either other option on the wing
of Fowler and forward would be a better option, yeah,
front and yeah than Hailey Rasso.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
I don't think of Rasso as a forward like a striker.
I've always thought of her the many years have been
following her.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
She is a winger.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Now.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
When I saw that, I was like, what are you doing?
Put forward up there?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Put Fouler even to play like a false nine, like
that sort of ten false nine role where she can
play it off because every time actually happened a lot
in the first half. Every time Mary got on it,
she sent a long ball we actually looked pretty promising,
but she couldn't get enough of the ball on the
wing and Rasso couldn't get anywhere near it in the middle.
I don't think she would have ever played there for
the mail at striker, I don't.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I don't think she has. And even Carlie ross back
and said mayor Fowler should be at that.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Yeah, maybe Carlie ross back in next coach, we say
next coach.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Was so obvious.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, there was a lot of obvious things that just
didn't happen. But as you said, Macca was awesome in goals.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
A few of us says off the bar, that was amazing.
She was standing in the goal. Yeah, I was crazy.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
She was really good, but there was just so many
shots coming away that she couldn't stop them. Rodman was
really good. I think you talked up before the Yeah,
the game, she was awesome.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
I think so.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
I think a memory who will go a long way
in this tournament and she'll be a major part of that.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, she was.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
I think the train turned. She's got her own signature move.
That's what the commentators were saying. Did you hear that
where every time that she's on the wing turned the
other way and she was doing spin moves. Very early
on Torpy was just in a spin cycle. But she
held her own. It's probably after the first twenty minutes
to I'd say she was actually pretty good.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
And then Sophia Smith's almost goal like literally.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Yeah, we had a bed on it.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
I had a falling multi.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Smith, you got a message was almost a goal that was, yeah,
we're gonna lose exactly. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
The other one, who else did I write downy Gory?
I think was our best player. She was probably our
best player this whole tournament. Every time it was in midfield,
she was the only one really stopping them from making
a run. I thought she was awesome and she was
putting her body on the line. There was almost a
red card I thought, where she got stepped on her
ankle and things like that. But yeah, the US were
just way too good.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
I think I thought there were a lot of tactics
that were really really strange.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
You're taking the two fielders.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Off sign wrong, was it? Because then they were and
was not.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Sure she was coming he was yelling at the players.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Yeah, if Gorey was coming off and Rasso was trying
to come off, it was like, what's going on TV?

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Can't even do the subs and I'm worried just to
start the game at five at the back and then
concede fourteen shots in the first and then and then
take off two midfielders and not bring on say bring
on Hayman and take off Torpie.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
It was really yeah, very interesting, Yeah, very interestacting the
guy the USA goals. That will just touch on quickly.
You had another set piece which was brutal. People are saying, oh,
was it offside? I don't think it was, because when
the play ended up happening, she was out of the
way of Maka's vision I'm talking about So you guys think.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
You biased fan and that was not off I'm a.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Very bus even if it's in the fielder vision and
she had any chance of stopping it, Even if it
was the case, she wouldn't have got there.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
No, So I think common sense prevailed with that one.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Then the other guy was awesome, Albert Banger that was
that was an absolute scream. It was a really poor clearance.
I can't remember who it was by It might have
been Rasso literally cleared it straight to her, but that
finished top corner. He couldn't do anything about that. That was awesome.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
That be one of the goals of the of the tournament.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I'd say that might come into play there. Then we are.
This is after I fell asleep because I was like,
oh my god, we're already down to Neil.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
They put Kennedy up front. I was away, like you
had your coffee. Kennedy was great, great, and you got
a goal.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
So it really surprised me.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
The funniest moment towards the end, in my opinion, was
the final set piece when Macca was.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Just in the box that I did Sorry I didn't.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
I'm going to mean that up later be like football
memes in no context.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Macca and up front. Yeah, well I remember telling team
of sport lats they did that. Yeah, yeah, I was
hoping she scored a goal a goalkeeper. That would be
awesome that happen.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
No, but yeah, the fact that Kennedy had two of
our goals this tournament.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
That's I know.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
I said offense wasn't away, but that is a little
bit of a worry that we had to send Kennedy
up front when she's one of the best center backs
in the world. Shouldn't be Yeah, we shouldn't be putting
up front for that. So that's a bit of a worry,
and we've crashed out. That's just it's just really sad.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
It's very annoying.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
But yeah, us I think are going to be really
good day obously out a lot. They probably should have
scored a few more goals. Yeah, so I think they'll
be right.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Yeah. I think Macca saved those few at the start
that really helped us. But then obviously.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah, while talking about Macca, I'll go let's go Matila's
player of the Match. I think we were better than
our first game against Germany. I think we were a
bit more settled it.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
That was the best game out of all of them.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, I definitely, just in terms of only containing two
goals as well.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
So who is your Matilts Player the Match?

Speaker 3 (11:21):
I'm going to.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Goa just I feel like she deserves a bit of credit,
you know, being in the goals and probably a bit
defeated after the previous game. So yeah, let's give her.
I think the first half was great by her, great saves.
Cordy contest and yeah, good stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Yeah, Marcus, I'll go with Kennedy. I think even even
though defensively was a little bit shaky, she was all right.
She bagged the goal and I think she she always
puts hundred percent effort on the line and yes, so
clear that that she wanted that result as it all
and right to the end ya. But yeah, she's just
one of those sort of balls in the back line.
And the fact that she got managed to get on

(11:54):
the score sheet and in Australia was promising.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
But yeah, it was a pretty dark it was my
Matilda's playing the match. I'm going to Trina Gary.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
I thought her work in midfield when when she came off.
Also every time she came off way too early, because
what did you come off in the fifty something minute
said tired? Probably tired because she's coming back from injury
and heat and stuff like that. But I would have
tried to keep her out there. If it's going to
be our last game, you've got to put it all
on the line. She was amazing. She was just making tackles.
She got her legs stepped on, should have been a
red card. And anyway, so I love her.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
I feel like if you know you're going to take
Katrina Gorri or around the sixtieth minute, you keep Kyra
Kooney cross on.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Yeah, because you've got to there to the two best
CDMs by mile, you've got to keep one of them one, right.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
I felt like the effort of the Matilda's was just
not there start, like smiping.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
A bit of a low against Germany.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah, No, I'm talking about in the game.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Yeah, game.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
I just you could tell that once they scored that
first goal, they got that bit of confidence. It was
too late then they just needed this sounds so pitty,
but they just didn't try.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah, holding for the point.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Yeah. I think it was negative football, which Matildas haven't
really been.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
I'm not used to seeing them like that, so yeah,
you could really see the change.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
I think we are very negative over the past ever
since has been in charge.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
I think we're very negative because I feel like if
we were more like it might have those six five
games every now and then.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
But maybe it suits us.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I don't know, like they're more attacking thing because they're
just all those attacking players aren't getting enough chances, I think,
but it.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Feels like they're just trying to scrape through which I
guess you can win tournaments by doing that. England does that, Yeah, exactly, Yeah,
but disappointing.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
And then player of the match, obviously it's going to
be a US player. Do you guys want to play
with the match?

Speaker 5 (13:32):
I'm going to go Rodman, Yeah, he said Rodman as well.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
I'd probably go her as well. She was she was
really good. Albert was really good midfield and things like that.
So but I'd get Robman. She's just an absolute freak
too fast, Her dribbling skills are amazing, cool hair as well.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
How does they not get in the way.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Actually, it's like down to a sort of yeah, it
looks pretty cool, so we don't mind that. All right,
that's our player of the match. That's enough talking about
game routs. We're still going to be sad. Talking about
some big questions here. First big question, why didn't Haymond
start that I've written down here.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Do we know why? Because TG is a fraud on it?

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Before there was a little reasoning because of the exploring
the pace. That has to be the only reason.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Okay, I believe unless he just doesn't he doesn't have
faith in herd of running out the full ninety.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Or Haymon's done something to him and doesn't doesn't.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
He doesn't like it.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Here's Yeah, that's the only logical reason I can think of,
I think. And there's also probably a case of if
you want to fit as many stars as you can
onto the pitch, that sort of yeah mentality, but without sort.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Of especially in tournament football, you can, Yeah you can.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I know that we wouldn't want wrats off the bench,
but you might have to do that just to fit
in a striker.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
And I think she sort of works off the bench
as well with the pace.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Yeah, yeah, so I think, yeah, it's probably the full
ninety the tiredness of it, maybe of it, but yeah,
just annoying, Like I get she is that impact sub,
but we're not winning.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
No, so you might may as well try.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
You didn't really have.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
You had a lot to lose, but you may as
well just put all the ff out at start, give
your best shot and maybe we could have got another goal.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
No, I agree.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
That was our other big question where the subs correct.
We've sort of already touched on that. I think the
people that they brought on were sort of correct, because
I don't mind clear wheeler things like that. But I
just don't know if they should have taken off Gory
and love Wheeler.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
But I just don't have faith in her for a
big match like that. She's still quite young, probably not
as experience as some of the other girls.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah, she did good, but maybe it wasn't the right one.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Do you want to read out? The next one can
be Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Of the show you brought up this morning, which is pretty.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
Funny, is Tony Goosiston the Southgate of Australia.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
I'm going to say nah, because Southgate has actually gotten
to finals? What has he got to to finals? And
he's won a lot more games I think than Tony
g Stars and then they've gotten second, third and things
like that in tournaments. So I'm gonna say nah. But
in terms of being a bit lucky like the World Cup,
just with an amazing squad and not making the best tactics, yeah,
but all in towards nah.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
I know, because like the squad you look at the
England squad versus the Deilda squad different but in energy
of not winning or like finishing a tournament or just
getting so close, and it is a funny comparison.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Big Yeah, I think because very naive same as gar
south That's true, that's true.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
But I do applaud his.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Man management with majority of the squad with the girls,
similar to Southgate with the men.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
That's what I think.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
He's a really good people person and I think I
think you did a lot for Australia in terms of
like women's football, sort of getting getting the country behind,
similar to how Southgate sort of brought England together because
England was a very you know, you had your Chelsea
plays men United players. They wouldn't talk to each other
where it's now they're very Yeah, they're very tiny together,
very tight knit. True, Whereas I think in that sense

(16:52):
exactly the same and tactically he's been found out yep,
same way garas Southgates get gets found out against especially
the bigger nations.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
We should do a straight swot see out skates to
the Matilda's because starts into.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I've never I've never rated TG before. Yeah, I was,
I just what's your thoughts?

Speaker 3 (17:14):
You reckon? He'll be out.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
I think it's time, I think. So how long has
he actually he's had this four.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Year campaign, He's had his Olympics, as World Cup, an
Asian Cup.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Even even he would say not even because of the results,
just like you've had that time that period. Unless we've
probably got a medal, then he wouldn't that was probably
going to hang around.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Even the Matilda's posted today they were like just thank
you for like this past four years campaign.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Really, so maybe that this is kind of the rebuilding phase.
I guess.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Look, when we play against big nations, we it's quite
quite a bit. We've lost the Canada for Neil a.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Couple of times four nil as well. Yes, but when I.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Look at that home soil, we needed the neutral territory
on both occasions we lost four nil.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
They're also cheating against the England game, like yeah, okay,
what we lost by we'll lose two one three one
two one.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
I think because that Sam scored that that should that should.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Have been five nil.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
True, like we shouldn't have been anywhere we probably it's
got a little.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Bit ahead of ourselves especially Yeah, I think so yeah,
I think.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
I genuinely don't think we're as good as we have been.
And I've seen a lot of neutral fans, women's fans
say about time Australia very overrated.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
That's what my dad's been saying. So he's the fan
of Matilda, but probably a neutral fan. He's like, get
tg out.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
The hype isn't real now the amount of star players,
especially in defense. I think, like, I know, we know
how good our attack is, but defense should have been
doing better tactically, we should have been doing matter.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
So maybe we just need to I think I'm just
so frustrated. Three on the ball, like Ford, it's amazing
fell on the ball, Like that's their strong suit.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
You look at their club football.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
And we're just playing Route one.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Yeah, all right, that's enough, big question. So we're going
to just get too mad about this. We'll just have
a quick look at the draw from Mere. Obviously, the
Matildas are out. I'm just going to quickly get that
up while I talk about it. But Matilda's are out. Well,
let's go podium picks. But first we'll just have a
look at the matches. So we'll go through the knockout.
Sorry about this knockout matches. Who do you think is

(19:22):
going to be on the podium which go with that?
France Brazil is the first knockout game.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Yeah, we want to go through the on the podium. Yeah, okay,
I'll go through. I'll go to knockout gains. So France Brazil,
who do we think?

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Surely France Brazil have been pretty average. Spain Columbia next,
knockout the Spanish. Spanish. Yeah, I think that would be
a fun game too, pretty attacking US VERSUS Japan another
fun game.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
US.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
US Japan haven't been as good as I thought they
would be in this ornament, So yeah, US.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
US, Canada, Germany, the Germans I'm on.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
The fence about this one have been really good, have
been good.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
But yeah, Germany but no head coach currently. Yeah, yeah,
mob be a bit tough, yep. And then why do
we go all the way through here? We'll go France
Verst Spain in the semi final. That's going to be
an awesome semifinal. The Spanish Spain.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah, I agree, it could be close. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
US Germany is the next one that would be really close.
We already met each other, but US beat them forward.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
I'm going one ye all right, So.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
We've all got the same on the semi final production
for the goal we have different I think because the US,
the US US.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
When you're going in the US as well, I'll go Spain.
The US team has won the World Cup. Then the Olympics. Yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Marke continue the US on fire with Emma Hayes.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Emma Hayes has got them playing back to their best,
which is scary because they had a two year like
phase where were like, oh, they're not that good anymo.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
I think they haven't lost their last eleven or twelve.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
If Australia had more money and Emma Hayes before she
signed with the US her at the Matilda's would be
a match.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
We would, We definitely would.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
The other good thing for Australians is these games, which
would have been if Montilla's in it, but they are
at five am, one am and eleven them so they're
much better than the three am games. So yeah, we'll
tune in for the final. I reckon we could do
a show at least about the final. Yeah, maybe next week, which.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Would be good fun.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Who do you reckon for bronze in I'm.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Going Germany for Germany? Yes, yeah, same as you guys. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Oh nice. So yeah, we've got a Spain USA final.
I think that's I think that's a lock. I feel
like the teams that are left France haven't been like
as strong as Spain. In Germany and then you've got
Brazil and Columbia have been a bit lower than all
the other teams, so I.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
Think they'd best cracking game to watch as well, which
one Spain versus USA?

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Yes, if it is the final, that'd be awesome. Yeah,
all right, is that it? I feel like that's it.
