More at Sea Geek. Let's do your hot ticket. Fred Smoot,
Michael Jenkins. Yes, how you doing after a week one?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
No, but I'm doing well, man. You know, think about
it is week one. Let you know that the season
is back. I've seen a lot of people just enjoying
the fact that football was back. Northwest Stadium was rocket
a right, that's what you want and this is what
I can say. I want to give a big up
to the fans, to home fans. That was our stadium.
I didn't see a lot of blue and red in there.
(00:56):
I did see a lot of blue and red. And
then in other years New York shows up. Yeah, in
a big way and in a big way. All right,
Seventy percent of that stadium was all burning in gold,
and we need to have it that way for the
rest of the year, especially when the Green and White shows.
Especially then, Yes, if we can't go to they stadium,
(01:16):
this is the deal. I want to broke up with
the fans. We can't go to the stadium because they violent.
Let's be honest, Yeah, we're.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Not letting them in.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
I was with money buying Bow.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
We're not gonna sell our trankets and we're not gonna
let them in. Right, Northwest Stadium belongs to Washington.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
That's right, it's us. Also, you can call us, you
can email us. Not only do we answer your questions
are on the pole, we do it on the radio
show as well.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Now you're the first out. Yeah, we do.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's been a lot of fun doing. Now call us
seven O three seven two six seven four one nine.
That's seven O three seven to six sing it seven.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Four one nine.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I can go to after that.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Also, send us an email. Take your time, Washington get
loud at gmail dot com. All right, defense, let's start there,
because this was it's a point of consternation during the offseason.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Can the defensive line stop anyone? Are we gonna have
issues against the run? And man, did the defensive line
answer the call in Game one? The Ron Paine, Javon Kinlock,
Daurrence Armstrong. It's just one dude after another.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Bring the Ken law.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Listen to me. I was watching him early in that game,
throw grown men, three hundred pounders at the club before
the party started, right. And when I say he was
moving people, I mean moving people. And now that he's
the one that has to take on the double team, yeah,
it opens up everybody else the house of pain.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
I takeing on singing team.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
I mean, one man rejuvenated cannot be blocked. All right,
this is a domino effect. And I told y'all in
the off season when I was watching him build his
defensive front, I said, oh, I see what they're doing.
They building this thing to win on first and second
down so we can earn the right to rush the
passion on third down. And that's what they did. They
(03:06):
got after old Russell Wilson. I didn't feel bad for
Russell Wilson. Welcome home to the DMV was not the
welcome that he was looking for. The best thing that
the Giants brought to the game Sunday was seattra.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
That was it.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
That was it, because this defense showed up. Russ was
getting hit. No, Russ got hit over and over and
over again. And I enjoyed it. I enjoyed watching them
stake They claim to you, we're gonna be a good defense.
This is just not an offensive team. Yeah, we're going
to be a well balanced team. And I think all
(03:47):
of the defensive players did well. Like I didn't have
low grades on anybody.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I think it was Logan when I was listening to
the radio broadcast, he was like, Russell was taking a
lot of punishment down here, guys. Yeah, I mean you
could not only did you see, you could hear like
they were just harassing him constantly. Also, this is the
first time the defense has held an opponent to zero
touchdowns and a season opener, first time since nineteen ninety one.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I could have sworn one of my teams helped somebody
without a touchdown, but evidently we didn't.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
And season opener. Maybe that's it.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
I think it's the season opened up.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah, because we had some times with Greg Williams where
we didn't give up.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Until I believe that. Yeah, we had some times with
Greg Williams. What we did.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
What did you like about the secondary? I mean the
defensive line was unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Just front the back, I say, I think they collectively
played off of each other. Like the rush is always
attached to the coverage. The coverage is already taxed to
the rush. The middle of the defense with the linebackers
running around Frankie Louvu, Bobby Wagner. I thought the guys
played well. I thought they played as a group. I
thought they understood the mission. I thought they did a
great job on the lake neighbors.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
That's what I.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Because if you got to take anybody out of this offense,
it's him. It's absolutely it's him, and they took him
out of there. Trey Amis, Micky Sandrich still, Laddimore back
looks healthy. Like I told people, man, get this guy
a chance to impress you as a healthy football player,
not a guy that's limping out there trying to give
you all he got, Because then people don't appreciate you
(05:11):
like that. People don't appreciate hurt football players. And that's
the shame because we go out there, we try to
give our best, but then when your best ain't enough
and I went out there and I'm seventy percent, I'm
sixty percent.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
They won't give me that excuse.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
They won't say all man Fred was hurt and I
played with a cracked sternam for a full season.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Didn't you just sit up right in a chair like.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
When you sleep.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
I had to sleep in a lazy boy. I bought
a lazy boy because I could. I could never get
completely flat, because if I got completely flat my chest
the crack would open.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Bobby Wagner has made history in the NFL for a
long time.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah and yeah, I looked down whole hum ten tackles
this old jacket.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
That's what he does him in London. The trajectory is
very much the same. It's crazy, right, they continue to.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Get better with age. It's like wine.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
They continue to play at a high level to the
point where you don't know when they're starting to lag
that when they're starting to like fall off.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Because it's so consistent, Like most NFL players united is
they have that pocket right where they peak.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
And then there's some guys that just it's a straight line, solid.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Performance in their entire career, and then not just it's
a consistency there like it's almost boring.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
No, it's very boring, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
And that's why I think London ain't in the Hall
of Fame right now.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
I agree, because it was so boring.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
It was just nineteen Taco, seventeen, Taco, twenty tacle. Like,
whatever it is, I'm going to just continue to do
it to the point where you're numb, to the point
where you don't even respect it anymore.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
And when you look at this total defensive effort, that's
the thing that gets me. We could talk about Lottimore,
we could talk about Trey AMers, we could talk about Bobby,
we could talk about Sam. Can we get I mean
there were so many guys who had a hand, who
had a great trick, Wise Dietrich, wise coming off the
edgeress great. I mean it was just one dude after
another where yeah, you can point the individual players.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
We talk about group effort. This was it, No, this
was it.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
This is what you wanted.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
And I'm happy for coach with because now he has
the guys he wants. It allows him to open up
his whole entire playbook. Right And if I had the
point at one thing that says this defensive series, those
two goal line stands, and those two goal line stands
told me they ain't giving up in trench warfare is.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
What they want to do.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
That's when you win a lot of scrimmage when it's
just inches. When it's inches, when somebody say, you know what,
I need to go a ruler. That's all I need
to get. I need to get a yard and you
can't get it like that. That's depressing, right. That kills
the offense, just momentum.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
This kills the spirit too, right because we can't get
a yard. It's a yard.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
I made pro offense and I can't get a yard.
That hurts, That really hurts.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
You mentioned Joe Junior, and I think this is a
really good point is that.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
We always talk about quarterbacks in their second year in
an offense, but when we talk about offensively and defensively,
it's not just a quarterback. It's not just the big names,
it's everyone on that side of the football. So defensively,
you've got an entire defense now getting accustomed to a
second year and a skin.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah yeah, And it allows you to play faster, It
allows you to play without thinking. It allows me to
soak up the call and be like I know what
coach wants, situational, Like, that's the biggest thing about coordinators.
One thing I knew about Greg I already knew before
the call came in situation of what we were doing.
If we was goal line and they was on the
(08:41):
one yard line, we going cover zero. That mean I
got no help and we're finna go blitz everybody. I
know it before the call even comes in, because I've
been in his defense long enough to know situational. This
is what he leans on, this is what he asks
for us, this is what he wants us to do.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Easy for me.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Did you like those? I loved them. I started to say,
because it's just you and me.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Listen, I'm a loner, and when you're on the island,
lone wolf me and tell him Hanks Holland for Wilson, Wilson, Wilson,
nobody's going to help you.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
It's just you versus this.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Man with millions of people watch. I enjoyed that.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Yeah, I embraced that, like because when I was in college,
my defenseive coordinator was very similar. Joe Lee done, We're
going to blitz. I was like, coach, we're up about
thirty going to blitz that was sy, we're going to
blitch like my coach and high I mean in college
Joe Lee, he ain't wear his set.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
He didn't.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
I don't want to talk to those basters.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Fred talking to y'all, this is such a thing. No, no,
that was his theme.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Like he ain't wear socks and he did not wear
a headset. He signally to us and I was like, coach,
you ain't got but one sick And he was like this,
why we could we do? We do one play and
we do it fast, and we do it aggressive. And
that's what it was about. So about the time I
made the league, I was just customed to being by myself. Yeah,
(10:11):
and I was fine with that. A lot of a
lot of corners don't like that. That's why I like
Trey Aiming so much. It's comfortable being alone. Yeah, that's
that's what I want. I want my corners not married, yeah,
like not married to a woman.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
I want you want them single.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
I want them sings focused, single, single, single, single, used
to being by yourself, sitting at home by yourself.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Who's my partner? My love is football.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
My love is football, that's it. My love is man
the man coverage.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
We get football on Thursday Night Lambs short week.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
You know how Limbo leaked? Right, and I never put on.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
The package Jersey, Did you do it with the Vikings?
Speaker 4 (10:53):
I did it with the did listen?
Speaker 2 (10:55):
How did that go?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
It didn't go with.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Leaked and opposing fans stands.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
They pulled me Milwaukee's best.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Right in your face.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
And see they thought it was gonna hurt me, but
I was loving it. Give me a thirsty yeah, give
me more.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Polling it all down Milwaukee's old school, that's what they
drinking in me. I believe they was drinking at Milwaukee's
Best and they pulled it all over my face and
they and I seen a fan look me in the
face like I know he's not sticking his tongue out
and drinking it.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah, wrong guy.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
If you thought you was gonna kick me out the
stands with beer, wrong guy?
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Yeah, my god.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Well, when you talk about this offense, we hit the
offense too, because we're hoping we'll see somebody against green Bay.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Green Bay looked really solid. No, no, green Bay looked
like a playoff team, and we all playoff team.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
They have a franchise quarterback. We have a franchise quarterback.
They have elite coaching. We have elite coaching. They have
a good defense. We got a good defense. Like they
got a good running game. We got a good running game.
It's gonna be one of those games. And both teams
coming out for short week. Now, what I am hoping
is because they played in the second window Sunday. Yeah,
(12:10):
so we finished the game earlier than they did. Yeah,
I'm hoping that live hour to a rest shows his
face because the NFL that's scheduling these two games.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
I mean these games literally one hundred hours apart. It's
crazy to me. Yeah, but you.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Do get on their back end that extended week, right,
so now you get Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Your week don't
start the Wednesday, so you get extended week.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
So I understand that part.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
So when you look at this Commander's offense, I mean,
what I loved about that went over the Giants and
what I like moving forward when you talk about the
Packers is that JD five was was not what we're
accustomed to sing He was very good.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Yeah, but I know some people were like, who he
seems a little off.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
I'm like, listen, if you can win a game with
the defense playing like this and you think he's off,
it's gonna be off ther through the roof.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
That that says everything that he didn't set that body.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
I saw people complain without listen.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
They were calling into the post game show.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I believe.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
Yes, I had to talk about the ledge and what's
going what are you drinking?
Speaker 2 (13:14):
My friend?
Speaker 6 (13:15):
Like, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
It didn't.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
I was like, he did what needed to be done.
Now that he didn't set this boss.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
So how you think he needs to throw for three
hundred and run four hundred every game. No, he's one
of those guys whatever it takes to win the game, whatever.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Like he's going to get it done.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
My favorite play that he did is when the play
broke down, he started scrambling and he started running and
Brian Burns started to chase him, and he looked back
at Brian Burns and started to smile. Now you know
that was my monica as a football player, I was
a villain. I was the joker, was who I manifested
out there. So I would do it with a smile.
(13:54):
So to see him smile at Brian Burns and then
and Brian Burns talked about it after the I.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Saw him he's like this guy likes to talk, Like
this guy likes to talk, I don't want to talk
to you.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
I love every bit of it because when you out there,
you having fun. You don't even the pressure is no
pressure because I'm having too much fun.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
I'm enjoying myself.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
And to watch him enjoy hisself is poetry emotion to me. Yeah,
it brought a tear in my eyes. I sit there
and watch it.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I said, this is great, like because we haven't been here.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
We haven't been here when we had a quarterback that
every time we hit the field, not sometime we expect to.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Win, Like this is different.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
For me.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
It was always an if if this go right, if
this go right, and if this go right, we're gonna win.
Now it's just turn the game on. We're gonna win,
and it's Pushbudton now. Yeah, so I'm fine with that.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
People are still adjusting their expectations. I saw someone say
how we should have scored thirty eight points. It should
have been a blow.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
I'm like, you're not gonna do that. What are you
talking about? Division ten? Additional game and it's week one.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
You're not gonna do that.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
With your brother, I always tell people that your brother
know how to fight you. Yeah, your brother know how
to put you in the headlock and never let you go.
Your brother know your scrints. Your brother knows your weaknesses.
Your brother knows he can just guide your eye out.
If he eats to it's gonna be hard to wrestle him.
But I can go to a stranger and he got
no clue. So that's what I'm hoping happened with the Package. Plus,
(15:31):
they always asked me who's my favorite team to play?
It was always the Package, And for some reason, we
play the Package every year. Every year we play the Package,
and we have a good track record of beating the Package.
So I'm hoping this week that's the flow we go.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
I hope to see more of Bill this week. You dollar, dollar, Bill,
what dollar?
Speaker 7 (15:55):
You Know?
Speaker 1 (15:55):
What I loved is that during the stadium calls where
they'd be like Jacory Cross get married with the carry
and people go.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
Bill, Bill.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
But then when he finally scored, it was touchdown Bill.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
When you make it in life, this is what I learned.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
When you make it in life, and you noticed by
one name a deal Lebron Beyonce, Madonna, Like when you
get to the pint.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Yes, when you get to the point where one name
says who you are, you've made it in life.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Smooth. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Yeah, yeah, when you make it to the one name category,
you at the top of the mountain.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
And when you say, you know what, I don't want
to be called by my real name.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
But I got three of them, of course.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
No call me Bill, call me Bill, call me Bill
Dollar know what, I call him dollar Bill.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
He was awesome his rush.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
He had the longer rush than be Rob ever did
during his career in DC, which is not to like
be Rob.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
It just goes to show that's.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
Two different backs.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Yes, yes, but it just shows, which is my point.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
They wanted more explosiveness at that position and now they
have it.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Now they got it, and they got it with some
young legs. Right, fresh legs. He didn't play his senior
year of football.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Right, them legs are fresher than any running back that
came out in the draft. And that's why I told
people all off season, why are you worried about him
being picked in the seventh round. It don't matter how
you get on the team. Once you get there, you're there.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Look at Brock Party, You're there all.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Right, Look at London Flatcher. They ain't get drafted. You
got to be the best lineback of his draft. It
doesn't matter how you get there. Once you get there,
be the roach in the house. You can't get me
out of here. That's what dollar Bill is.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
And one guy we haven't mentioned yet, which just goes
to show how impressive that week won performance was, was
Debo as advertised.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
I love it when people tell people they can't do
something anymore.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Remember when a it was he can't do this, and
then Trendy Camper's like, this guy looks looks big, and they.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Shouted the fat shame him. They tried the fat shame.
But guess what. That's why dbs don't like tackling. He's
bigger than your average wide receiver. He's built like a
running back. And guess what when we hand him the rock?
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Listen. I always told people.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
When you have an alert guy out there and they
start to go in motion, which we heard him in
motion all day long. They had to find out where
he is and alert him. And they kept doing this
motion where they would motion him across the formation and
behind the.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Tailback, and I said, they got something hooked to it.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
They got something coming and they set it up for
him to rush for that touchdown.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Cliff Kingsbury in his bag right now.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
And I have to say this, as much as I
think Rashan Gary for Green Bay Michael Parsons, that's a
hell of a pass rush, I think the Giants might
have the best pass rush we're gonna go this year.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Their defensive line is I'm sorry, three Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
I'm sorry. That might be the best line.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
So if we could do that to them, we can
do it to the package.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
So you mentioned this a few minutes earlier, which is
quick turnaround. Yeah, going to Lambowfield. How difficult is that
when you just finished playing. The next thing you know,
you're on the field again.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
It's one of the things where we're not practicing this week.
We're walking through the whole week now. The question is
we are away team, so we got to travel I
think that's the hardest part traveling Wednesday. That's the hardest
part traveling Wednesday. You only get what Monday Tuesday were gone.
(19:41):
So it's what we did look up is I think
we left out of this game healthy. We didn't have injuries,
and that's what you wanted to do because I can't
get healthy in two days.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Yeah, so we.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Left out of there, We left out of their healthy.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
I think that's the big point, that the big selling
point that people need to talk about.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
What's a life playing in Lambo Field? Because you always
see I mean the NFL films, Yeah, Lambeo Field, the
Fruzen Tun Drug.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Yeah, I mean it's it's it's an iconic place. What's
it like playing there?
Speaker 4 (20:10):
It's nostalgia.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
Yeah, it's when you pull it in, I think what's
going the rookie is gonna open the rookie eyes.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
Is it's in the middle of a regular neighbor I st.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Said, there's nothing there except Lambo Field, right, But.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
It's in the middle of like a a middle class neighborhood.
The fans parking each other front yard free of charge.
And when you pull it in, you see the fans
everybody and everybody in front yard, and they like they
ain't cheering you, of course they're not, but you're looking
(20:42):
at you like there's no place like this anywhere else
in the NFL. And then once you get there, the
history of football kind of just weighs on you. Yeah,
because now you're like, oh, ray Nitchki played here.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah, Brett farm Art Stard and so it's hollow ground.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
I remember my first time playing there, I reached down
and picked up the grass. I want to pinch it
off and break it, just to say I did. Because
it is hollow brown. Absolutely, it is very much hollow
ground in that way of if you, especially a football
historian like I was, I couldn't wait to play there.
And I think that's maybe why I had my best
(21:23):
games at Lambo.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
Like I was just I was just caught.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Up in the moment of I want to be a
part of history, and the only way for me to
be a part of history is to do it in
a place that's historic.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
Yeah, and this is a historic place, Green Bay. If
you look at the market, they ain't supposed to have
a team.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
The market don't support that. They ain't supposed to. They're
the only team in the NFL that doesn't have an owner.
The people on it, there are people on it.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
It's people in the standing talking about I'm five percent.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
It's a different field, it's a different everything. They are
more community than they are fand of them. Yeah, so
it's one of them places. I think you earn the
right to play there.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
So you got Jordan Love a quarterback sixteen to twenty two,
one eighty eight yards, two touchdowns and that win over
the Lions.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
He's very good.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
I mean, this is a very this is a very
complete Packers team. They fill a big need with Micah
on the defense. But when you look at Jordan Love
and you're the commander's secondary, what do you have to
do here?
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (22:29):
You got to understand that you need to press these
wide receivers and force them to earn and keep.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
You need to match this.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Up with the front because they got a group of receivers.
They ain't got one go to guys, right, they got
a group of receivers, they got good tight ends, good
running back, great running back, So they're gonna be balanced.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
Make them one dimensional. Make them throw the ball.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
The mote that Jordan Love throws the ball, the better
your chance is to beat them. Eventually, he will make
a mistake, right, But if you let them be balancing,
you let them run their ball. Lafloyd's they're very good
at he really is, and he's a very good play caller.
But the only way to stop very good play callers
is to make them one dimensional. Now that I know
(23:12):
what you're doing now? Can you beat me that way?
And I think we got the guys to make them
one dimensional with this front. I gotta get this defensive
front of the name because already already gat the offensive line.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
I sat a workshop.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I gotta figure this out. Take me maybe a day.
I come up with a name for this defensive line.
But I tell you what, the divide and swine they
did a great job. Gets to New York Giant defensive line.
This is gonna be another test. Luckily, they're used to
playing against Michael Parsons.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Right, They're used to take the point.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
They used to playing against him, so he won't surprise
them in any kind of way. I'm gonna tell you
what makes Michael Parson so good. He's relentless, like he
never stops going. Like if you look at a lot
of his sex, they are chased down secks. Mean, he's
going against the block, he's fighting off the block, and
he's just running because he's a four or four guy.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
And even if he's not sacking you like, he's on you,
on you, he's.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Going to do that. So it's gonna be fine. Walldough
Is and make sure he ain't the one wrecking the game.
Do not let him wreck the game. And this is
my thing, and we did this last week. When you
got these legit pass rushes, run at them, run at them,
right at them, and don't stop for four quarters.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Run, run, run until you ben that pass rushing to
your wheel.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
You want to make them over pursue as well. Is
that part of it?
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Well, I want them to go.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Let We did a good job last week of making
that big defensive line.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
Run sideline the sidelines.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Okay, And when you make them run sideline the sideline,
you tire them out, so they're not good for that.
Then when it comes to passing down now they're a
step behind what they usually are. Like you do not
want to get in thirty loans. That's the thing. We
kept a third and two, third and three, third and four.
Now we still got the option to run the ball.
We still got the option to make things happen. And
(25:07):
even when it was third and long, like we would
get the ball to Ekla in space and let him
go break the defense down.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
So we have ways to get things done.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
So let's talk about this offensive line, which is the
one group people kind of say the best for last
in some ways, because they were so good. That was
the one thing we were worried about against that Giants
defensive front.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
R I was never worried.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
You were.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
This is why I was never worried.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Okay, go back to even when Tyler Battish was in
at the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Go back to.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
He dominates Dexter Lawrence. The two times we played them
last year, I heard nothing from Dexter Lawrence.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Did you see the six and Dexi dance?
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Because I didn't know. I was worried.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
I was like, this will be a key matchup. To me,
it was about the lines of scrimmage, right, like can
we stop the run? Yeah, definitely did that. I was like,
and how does this retooled offensive line hold up against
this defensive front?
Speaker 2 (26:04):
And we didn't see sexy dexy at all.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Listen, Tyler Biottish, is this sexy Dexi eracer?
Speaker 4 (26:11):
You want him to be?
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Race?
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Put a little boddish on him, all right? Beyondish handles
man handles him all right, and he does it over
and over and over again. So at the end of
the day, I was good with I said this, this
d line would be good tunsil man handling people, and
I knew this. I was talking to my homeboy and
(26:33):
he was like, man, what we gonna do against this office?
I mean the defensive line. I said, you know what,
I wonder this, Brian Burns gonna one up the rookie
until the rookie.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
You got to go over there with Tunsil. I'm gonna
go over here with the rookie.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
And he did. That's very Bruce Smith for him to
do that. Look, there was an o G move. Yeah,
I'm gonna go over here with the youngster. You go,
you go over there with the ventan. Hey did he
make some plays? He made some plays.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Workie.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
But I thought it was a great challenge for Connolly.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yeah. I thought Connelly answered the challenge.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
I thought he got better as the game went on,
and I thought he understood the mission and this is
all you want.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
And also, if you look at I don't get hardcore
into numbers, but all these guys in the offensive line
grated out really.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
High defensive line to me in football, guys, let's talk
about seageek for a second.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Let's do it.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Of course, the official primary ticketing partner of Hell to
the commanders, and here to help you experience all the
action this season.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
From football to Funk. Oh yeah, bringing the Funk and
any other live events. A peek has the tickets.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
See Geek, the official primary ticketing partner of the Wash
to Commanders Anna and it's here as always.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Yeah, should we do a voicemail?
Speaker 8 (27:48):
Yeah, let'shit a voicemail real quick.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yeah, why not? Right?
Speaker 8 (27:50):
Okay, Well, this is going to be Actually, this voicemail
might take a little longer because it's a traveling j
voicemail and it's him trying to get by allhees of
our crew. So I mean, we don't want to take
let it take too long, but that'll be a fun
little preview. But we do have coming up and Springs,
(28:11):
Fred's bestie.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
My god, John Springs is with us. All right, let's go.
I'll give it up, just me. One guy clapping, one
guy clapping. We got to well where these shades come from?
Speaker 4 (28:24):
These are bluefoots, these are shown shades.
Speaker 9 (28:27):
He left those my coaching glasses. Those my coaching glass
you know, my little ray mans for the field.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Man.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
I don't want people see my eyes.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
As I look out of these glasses, all I see
is als like loses.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Wait, you coach, you know, coach to you know he does.
Speaker 9 (28:46):
Yeah, man, I help my son over at bullets. You know,
my son and head coach over at bullets. Okay, yes,
I help him out.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Okay, very good.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Well, put on these coaching glasses and tell us what
you saw against the Giants, specifically on this defense.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Man.
Speaker 6 (29:02):
Well, I'll tell you what I did see. I saw
a very active D line.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
Man.
Speaker 9 (29:06):
You know, we thought that I thought that Ron Payne
played excellent kin laws a grown man.
Speaker 6 (29:11):
I thought the front dominated him. Russell had no.
Speaker 9 (29:14):
Idea you know how this line was going af from
stopping to run when you think about you know, all
week long they talked about the Giants may have the
best defensive line with Thibodeau and a dude Carter and
Dexe Lawrence and those guys. But our D line actually
was the defensive our defense all was the best defense
(29:36):
for the day.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Sure.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
And I got to ask you this, man, because I
feel like Trey Amis played like a five year veit
out there. He just looks calm, He looks relaxed. He
looked like it's just natural to him. How do you
feel that Trey Amanson is secondary play? Because I thought
they did a great job against the elite neighbors.
Speaker 6 (29:54):
Yeah, you know, Elik Neighbors came in.
Speaker 9 (29:56):
I mean, obviously we knew that he could be the
guy who was at the ball, was going to go
to at twelve targets, I think five catches. And you're
absolutely right man that like Trey Amos just was like sticky.
Speaker 6 (30:07):
They couldn't get away where he played the deep ball.
I mean, he just was. He was calm, he was
just in the hip pocket.
Speaker 9 (30:14):
They could play man, he could play his own and
more importantly, both all the corners played great, Mikey, you know,
they all played good man and a lot of us school.
You know, it has to do with the scheme. It
wasn't like there was all one on one. It wasn't
like it was just one on one coverage against Eliku Neighbors.
You know, coach did a good job. Coach Whitt did
(30:36):
a good job of just mixing up the looks, right.
You know, he would think Elik Neighbors in the slot
ran a dig and then you know we had somebody
to rob him on it on the middle cut or
something like that. Martin and I thought the guys just
played excellent within the scheme. I thought that the guys
played fast and physical. They were very physical. Uh and
when you see a secondary not only can cover, but
(30:58):
they're willing to stick their facing.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Man.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
Man, it was great. I thought.
Speaker 9 (31:02):
I thought Harris was just outstanding all game. I thought
both safeties play at the Kuan played great. So it
was just really really exciting to see that whole defense.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
I had to ax myself which side of the ball
played the best. I feel like special teams showed up.
I feel like showed up. I feel like defense showed up.
But when I looked at it, I said, man, I
think the defense showed up the most. And when I
say showed up, they showed up as a group. They
understood the mission. And I got to say this Ken
(31:34):
Law is.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
A grown man. Man, he's earning that money this year.
Speaker 9 (31:42):
But but but I think it made I don't know
if y'all felt like this, but I mean it just
made like it seemed like it took the Ron up
to another level. Mandron was splitting double teams. He was
he was on loop suns. He was active, he was fast,
and if I'm not mistaken, he chased down like a
little bubble screen man like I was like, I was.
Speaker 6 (31:59):
Like Doran out there looking like I learn your guy.
Speaker 9 (32:02):
We expected, you know two years ago when he had
all those sacks, man, he was outstanding man.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
And I think it has a lot to do with
kin Law because kin Law is taking the double teams
now in the allow on drum Pain to take them
one on one and go beat his man.
Speaker 9 (32:16):
Yeah, And it switched back and forth because they started
to double Doran a little bit so and then Kim Long.
Then Kim Long got busys. So it's gonna be it's
gonna be pretty tough, man. I think all the guys
up front lay great.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
I feel like I'm doing a podcast with Stevie Wonder
over here. Oh well, yes, it's I keep looking over.
Fred didn't see the game, but he didn't listen on
the radio. That's the question. Sometimes that's all you got done.
It's true, that's true.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
So I asked Fred this early, and I wanted to
get your thoughts on it. How much does it help
being in a system for a second thirty fourth year
where you can get a custom and you know how
to react instead of thinking, well, I.
Speaker 6 (32:55):
Think it helps. I think it helps a lot.
Speaker 9 (32:56):
You know, obviously this is the year two for Joe
wet But the caveat to that, if you think about it,
we got a whole new revamped secondary. Yeah yeah, you know,
we got to revamp d line. So these are you know,
a lot of the difference guys are new. But man,
Joe Witt got these guys playing with speed and playing fast.
Speaker 6 (33:14):
And I hate to be like one of my old
school guys.
Speaker 9 (33:16):
To bring up like the past when four when we
all came together with a whole bunch of new new players,
we played fives and fiscal under Greg Williams and smook
and tell you man, like when when I unit at
the front end the back is playing on the same
page and they run into the ball like that, that's dangerous.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
Man.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
They look real good, yep, look like and some bread
and I enjoyed it. Now I think Debo adding to
this offense when he's moved. You know, we always got
an alert guy when it comes to defense, and number one
is the alert guy. Do you think he's Deebo has
the ability to take this office to a whole another
(33:54):
level because Terry ain't never had a running mate like Debo.
Speaker 9 (34:00):
Absolutely, man, And when you think about how they put
him in motion and you could see when he started
to move, the defense was able to you know, point
to point him out run that way. And that's why
when you saw Dollar Bills test down or a couple
of his runs, it was because Debo was in motion,
faking like he was going to come back around on
the counter, and then they would his hand it off
(34:20):
to the running backs, and I think he just you know,
he's always a dangerous when he get the ball in
his hand.
Speaker 6 (34:26):
So you got it, you can't just blow him off.
Speaker 9 (34:28):
He become emotion because he could come back around and
get the ball like he did on the testdown play.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
So I mean, Debo takes out offense to a whole
other level. Man. And you know, he's one of those
guys like.
Speaker 9 (34:40):
You know, every offense smoll caller, alert guy, but every
offense got a guy that's just like he. You know,
you you can't not really just take him lightly, because
if he get the ball in his hand, he'll break
tackles or he'll make a first down.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
He just and Quam Bolden was like that in.
Speaker 9 (34:55):
Our generations, man, like everybody talked about fits, but and
Kwan made that offense go when the Arizona Cardinals was
going to Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (35:04):
And I think that's what debo does for us.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
When you look at Michael Parsons, How much better does
he make the rest of the defense, Because because you
guys know that when you have the guys up front
doing their jobs and pressure the quarterback, it makes your jobs,
makes the back end so much easier.
Speaker 6 (35:22):
Hey, man, listen, listen the dumbest trade and.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Hey, lonely Jerry Jones, lonely of Jerry Jones.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Let Jerry continue to be.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Jerr Let Jerry cook. Let Jerry cook Man.
Speaker 9 (35:39):
Hey, Jerry still making that bag. But boy, boy, boy,
that Michael Parsons is something else. Man, That kid is
uh hell, I like him just playing forty five players
a game is it's a Dane. He don't need to
play seventy. He earned all his money on just just
when he gets in. You know, he got in on
the first play against the Lions and he just destroyed
(36:01):
the all pro.
Speaker 6 (36:02):
Attack of the lines.
Speaker 9 (36:06):
Destroyed and with the inside rush we got you know,
Jered Goar out of the pocket. I mean, this guy
is a one man blitz man. He changed the whole team,
man like. And you know, and then when you think
about just that defensive hole, and you know they just
got some stuffs they got with Sean Gary, who's six'
five up To, walker you, KNOW i Mean. WALKER i
(36:26):
mean these guys are, big but he just takes him
to another eleven.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Man do you think that defense With, walker With Rashon,
gary with the guys that they, got what type of
problems will they GIVE jedf?
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Five what type of problems WITH jedf five give?
Speaker 9 (36:43):
Them, well in order to get away from a defense like,
that you, know you gotta have a mobile quarterback AND jd,
Five jedi, five he's the guy who you know who's always,
calm he's never sped. Up you, know another guy who's
in the second, year looks like he's been a lead thirteen.
Years but you, know so you gotta have a guy
that can get away from rush because those guys are gonna,
(37:05):
beat you, know beat your.
Speaker 6 (37:07):
Line they're gonna make some plays up. Front and he's
the right type of guy we.
Speaker 9 (37:11):
Have so you, know we as, DEFENSE i mean, offense you,
KNOW i Mean, cliff you know those guys are. Smart
you gotta, chip you gotta, chip you, Know, parsons you
gotta you gotta make sure you slow him down with.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
SCREENS i think you got to run at, him, like
run it right.
Speaker 9 (37:27):
Him don't run away from you gotta run right at.
Him you run away from and you have a bad.
Game this guy is, uh this guy's lost tailor.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Man and with that we say thank you, too always
showing us on the. Show good to see, you, Brother.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
Thank you all, right brother, s a lot of.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Richie you're no more glasses, now no you can see
again fake, Anyway.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Well let's. Prescription no, okay yeah that.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
LISTEN i knew something would pay for no rial. Glasses
you know WHAT i do for? Him Daby? Christmas, Right.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
JEEVES i know you're getting a big gift. Card there's
nothing on, it AND i.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Know every year he goes to that another different store
and try to spend something with nothing on. It but
you KNOW i have to pay like five dollars to
get the gift.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Card we're gonna switch it up right. Now we got. Voicemails,
yes we.
Speaker 8 (38:20):

JOURNALISM i was a journalism major in, college and in
between my junior and senior, YEAR i interned out IN
dc BUT i was reporting on homicide data so. Complete
one eight from, that my senior, YEAR i, DECIDED i,
thought you, know maybe do something a little bit, happier

Csu we had like a matchup at in Power field
and we, lost like we got to know we. Weren't
maybe it wasn't CSO i don't remember who it, was
but we got destroyed and it was like the best day.
Ever it, was if that's ever. Yet now we got
prime and it's much more. Exciting but at that time
(44:02):
we were. Terrible BUT i still have like the best
time and we would lose like every. Game but actually
the first TIME i got to travel and report was

really is a. Team we have a great.
Speaker 4 (44:39):
Team, no we had a great.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Team we always have, fun AND i think that's why
the shows are so, good because it's it reflected from
behind the camera around each.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Other because when the cameras are, off it's not a
whole lot different.
Speaker 4 (44:52):
Different the camera is, on it's. Good, yeah and we
kind of rag each other's out the.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
Time SO i think that hips for the good balance
for sure of laughter and.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
Seriousness and you know how it. Is it could be
at the. Workplace you be in the locker room where
when you have a good, workplace a good chemistry in
the locker, room, man you gotta take advantage of that
and be grateful for.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
That, well it makes work, Easy, yeah it makes. WORK

to get told you. Can't you're gonna get told you're
not good. Enough and guess what that's up to you
to believe it or. Not like if you believe it
and buy into, it that's your fault because once you
shake your head and say, NO i don't.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
