Speaker 1 (00:02):
The Ericaism of the Day on Get Up Mornings with
Erica Campbell. So, last night was Bible study at Calli
Worship and as usual, Doctor Lynn Richardson is doing a
series on faith and finances, and last night she was
talking about credit.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Ooh, y'all. She got us so together last night.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Because she talked about having integrity and understanding. Luke six
point thirty one to do unto us or others as
you would have them do unto you applies to credit
as well. She talked about treating your creditors like you
would like your debtors to treat you. She talked about
being honest with your word. She said, how would it

(00:42):
feel if someone borrowed money from you, and then when
it came time for you to get your money back,
you at an attitude or didn't respond to their phone calls?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
She said, how can you expect to be blessed.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Financially when you won't handle your responsibilities the way you should?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
When I tell y'all, she got us together.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
She got us together about not wolf and when you
don't pay your creditors, it's like you're stealing and all.
She also talked about exercising compassion and forgiveness with your debtors.
She talked about even when you have family members and
loved ones who need things, just having a fund. If
you know that you're going to give, and you know
that you're really blessed, and you know that people come

(01:20):
to you, create a fund. And this is how much
I put into my space to give to my loved ones,
right And you don't hold them, you don't hold them
hostage over it. You already know you're going to give it,
and you know sometimes they can and maybe they cannot
pay it back. Your heart towards them, your compassion and
forgiveness towards.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Them, the same as the scripture.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Says, forgive us our debts, as we forgive us our debtors.
And so she held us responsible in the word it
was so good Deuteronomy fifteen. At the end of every
seven years, you must cancel the debts. That is literally
where the bankruptcy laws come from. From Deuteronomy fifteen and one.
She talked about not being ashamed of having money problems.

(01:59):
But when you foresee the money problems come, don't ignore
them and act like they don't exist.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Deal with them and have a plan. She said.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
People that are wealthy. They don't see bankruptcy as a
bad word. They use it to reset and readjust because
the bank literally holds your creditors off.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
And so it was just so much wisdom.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
If you get a chance, go to the Cali Worship
Instagram page and I believe the session is still up.
What I love most is even the Q and A
where people get to come up and ask real questions.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
And it was just such a blessing. Here's the message.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Faith and credit do go hand in hand, having faith
in God and being having integrity and character when it
comes to how you handle your finances, well determine if
you walk in wealth or not, because if you have
a thieves mindset when it comes to money, you're always
trying to get the hookup, You're always trying to get
something more than what you deserve. You're always trying to
do these things. Then your mindset isn't in the position

(02:53):
of being the giver and the lender and not the borrower,
which the subscription says, we're supposed to be the lender
and not to borrow. That doesn't mean don't use credit.
That means understand how money works. So you guys, a
lot of times the issues that we have in our
community as relates to around finances is literally just learning
how finances work.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
And it was just it was such a blessing.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
It's all about Kingdom funding and faith and credit and finance,
which don't usually go together, but definitely go together. And
so I wanted to share that with y'all this morning.
If you get a chance, check out doctor Ollen Richards
and follow her on social media. She can really help
you in that area, especially as it relates to the
scripture and our money. Not just not just he'll supply

(03:35):
our needs according to your riches and glory, but literally
how to pay debt, how to be honest, how to
you know, honor people that lend you money.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
It was really really a blessing, and.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
So I wanted to share that with y'all this morning.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
That's my ergaism for the day. It blessed me real good.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
And listen, I don't think you only have one blessed
friend in your circle.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
You should have multiple.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I don't think there should just be one person in
your group that understands money all of y'all. Should you know,
if that's the smart one, then maybe you need to
sit down and say, hey, let's talk through some things.
Show me your ways so I can understand finances and
I can build generation to wealth my family as well.
