Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real thought of the day or Get Up Mornings with
Erica Cabo.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Let me tell you something I like about people, And
I was gonna say black people, but it's not just
black people. Like you know, when you see something dumb,
like in an airport, and you always catch an eye
with somebody that also seen it. It happens in church, listen,
it happens in beauty salones when people come in asking
for a rap and their hair is too crunchy for
it and you catch an eye with somebody. I just
I love that about humanity. I honestly, it's I mean it.
(00:29):
Maybe pray for me, Maybe I got issues. When you
in the airport and you see a bad kid and
two real mamas look over at that baby and shake
their head, not necessarily in disdain to the mother.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Because you know, sometimes you be going through it and
your kids be on your.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Nerves and you just let them live their life whatever
they will, however they want to live it. But it's
always somebody that sees it and you just you catch
that eye and both of y'all be like, it couldn't
be my kid. It's not judgment, y'all. It's just listen,
there are people in humanity, And there's some people that
just get you when you laugh at the fact same things.
I've met new people, gone to maybe a conference or
(01:04):
a church event and seeing something crazy happen on stage,
and it's always somebody's eye that I catch and you
could read everything that they're saying. We don't say it's stupid,
but you know in our eyes, our eyes both say that,
ain't that ignorant?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I get that from my uncle Charles. My uncle Charles
will say it all the time. Look at that, that,
ain't that ignorant? Now, ain't that ignorant?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
He wouldn't say it to them as not to a fan,
But you know, I can feel how I feel, and
in those moments when there is a person that feels
how I feel, it just makes me feel connected to
somebody else in the planet.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I've seen it at award shows.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I've seen it every single place, and I'm sure you
have to where you see somebody and they just you
just both roll your eyes, or whether you and Walmart
or somewhere else, there's always somebody that kind of gets it.
They say, it's not just you, and it's always weird.
Not only am I the only person that saw that
to somebody. I know somebody else saw that. I'm telling you,
(01:58):
somebody else saw it, and they feel just like you felt.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
You're not alone and you're not mean. I know.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
We're in a new sensitive era and everything is sensitive
and everybody's offended. I love all of you, I really do.
But there are those who still laugh at things. There
are those of us who still think things are ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
And we could keep it in the.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Inside that it's ridiculous because it's somehow it's you know,
hurts everybody's feelings to say that it's ridiculous, y'all.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
This does not mean that I'm not a sensitive person.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I am, but I'm really happy when I see somebody
else that sees me it feels like I feel. And
lets me know, Erica, you're not crazy. You saw what
you saw, and yes, it is funny. Even if people
don't want you to laugh at it these days, it's
still funny and it gives me comfort, it does. I
hope y'all still love me after that. But I'm listen.
(02:46):
I like to know that I'm not the only am
I not only one to thinks this is dumb? Why
are we doing this? I've just seen the fashion moment online.
It's to shoot. I kid you not. It look like
it's bent up listen, and in my mind is dumb
to me. So I'm not gonna wear But hey, if
you want to wear the little silly little shoe, go
for it. But don't judge me because I don't like it.
I cannot like it if I want to, you know
(03:09):
what I'm saying. That's what I don't understand, like dripping,
like this is what I want.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Do you like what I want? No? And I don't
have to. Well, why don't you like it? You're scared
of me?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
No, I'm not. I think that's not very smart. Why
I wouldn't wear it. But if you want to buy it,
go for it. And there's somebody in the world it
feels like I feel. Lets me know that I'm not
alone and I'm not crazy. Also, that's my irri case.
You know what I'm saying, like we.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Do, oh God, and you know we're going with you.
I don't catch.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Catch my because kid, I'm telling I'm gonna see another mama.
Somebody be like, can you look at this child? You're
gonna drag your mama through this whole store.
