Speaker 1 (00:00):
Faith walk right now, Amen, Yes, it is time for
the faith walk of the day. And today I want
to tell you that you are too gifted to be
paralyzed by procrastination. You need more focus. When I started

(00:21):
going to therapy during the pandemic, and I was talking
to my therapist about procrastination, which I have been plagued with.
You know, I've always equated it with laziness or not
being as smart. You know, we know how, we know
how to be at up ourselves really good. And she said, actually,
procrastination is more a problem of pride, assuming that you'll
have more time, assuming that you don't have to rush,

(00:43):
that you don't have to be attentive to that thing
that you know you need to be doing. You literally
need to do it, and you keep putting it off.
It's an issue of pride that says I can do
it later or put something else before this important thing
that you need to do. The Bible says in Proverbs
thirteen and four, the soul of the sluggard craves and
gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

(01:07):
And it really changed my perspective on getting things done
and making it a priority, the thing that I need
to do. It could be anything. It can be packing
for a flight, it can be responding to an email,
writing a message that I need to write. Sometimes I'd
be so intimidated that she said it was pride. But
I usually feel intimidated by the task, and so I'll

(01:30):
put it off, and I'll put it off and I'll
put it off. But what I started doing is praying
for the Holy Spirit to give me the umph to
get up and do it. Anyway, I would pray over
myself and break that spirit that was trying to stop
me from doing what I absolutely know that I needed
to do. Yo. Listen, whether it's cleaning up your house
or cleaning out a garage, stop putting it off. Stop
letting that sluggish spirit stop you from progressing and the

(01:53):
things that would literally make you feel better. I don't
know about you, but when I finished the task that
I have placed before myself, whether it is air, the
mom erica, the artist, whatever it is, when I do
those things, it literally makes me feel better and I
feel like I'm being a good steward over my life,
that I'm being responsible with what God has given me,
that I'm not treating it like it's cavalier or random

(02:13):
or you know, just by chance or happenstance. I am
literally making it a priority. So that's my challenge to
all of us. You're way too talented to procrastinate on
writing the book. You're way too talented to procrastinate on
writing the movie that you want to write, or starting
the business, or going back to school like you want
to do. Come on, don't be sluggards, don't be slow.

(02:33):
Don't be a sloth. Not that word is really funny
to me. Don't be a sloth. Let's move with intensity
and intentionality, knowing that you can do great things. But
you've got to do the work. You can't just believe
for it and listen. Ready, ain't gonna jump on your
back and say let's go. My grandmother used to say
I'm gonna do it. W I'm ready come, and I'll say, Gamma,
ready is not ever gonna come because sometimes you never

(02:55):
get ready. You have to make yourself ready. You have
to push yourself to do the great thing that's gonna
cause you to walk in abundance in your life. Listen,
you can't be abundantly wealthy and lazy at the same time.
They just don't match. You have to have drive, you
have to have passion, and you have to have purpose,
and you have to learn to push yourself because sometimes
the thing of the person that you want to push you,
they literally don't exist. So it's all within you, right,

(03:18):
and so tap into the strength of the Lord, because
you could do all things through Christ. Right, you can
even overcome this. All right, I love you and I
mean we will not procrastinate a needmore. That's the faith
walk of the day. All right, guys, listen, it's sloth.
We're a funny. You have to say it slowly.
