did not send his son into the world to condemn

So anytime you are feeling condemnation that ain't God, conviction
comes from the Holy Spirit.

Conviction makes you want to change.

Conviction says I don't want to let God down, or
I may be headed in the wrong direction. Because conviction
lets you know that you did something wrong. Condemnation tells
you you are something wrong. So I want us to
make sure that we recognize that God is always trying
to draw us, not to make us feel bad about ourselves,
but to make us walk into his loving arms that

he has available to us. You think he sent his
son to just bash you and make you feel bad. No,
that's religiosity. Religiosity says you ain't good enough, and it's
these five rules, and you didn't follow these rules.

His condemnation says, I want you to come this way.
That's not the best choice for you.

As you return to God and you repent to God,
Repent is not just a word that makes you shake
and shiver. It means I can come back to the Father.
I can get in right relationship with the Father. I
can lay down what I thought I was and pick
up who he said I was because his love comes
to convict me to change, not to condemn me. It
said he did not send his son into the world

to condemn the world, but that the world through him
might be saved. All right, walk into that conviction, reject
that condemnation. You don't serve a god like that.

He wants you to change and be better, because he
is better, because he's drawing you to be closer to him,
because he wants to get glory out of your life,
because there's purpose for your life.

And I want you to walk in purpose, on purpose.
I don't want you to be afraid. I don't want
you to walk in worry and anxiety. And will I
be good enough? Of course, you were made by the
King of Kings and the Lord of Lord. So of course,
as long as you line up with what he says you,
all good, baby, don't stress over it, don't worry about it.

amazing record. He sang and we did some conversation and
it was really cool. This nice place on Sunset where
they do these big Grammy events. I was proud of
him before doing an album release.

At a venue like that, it was really really cool.
Then Leah was lead is leaving this week. She's going
away to college. She had to take a year off
and most people when they stopped, they never go back.
She took a year off and she's going back, but
she's moving away. And we all got together spoke over
her life, prayed and laughed and cried and all that stuff.

No, she's going to Nashville. Wow, I know that's so far.

Happy because she's like, yeah, she's close to me Atlanta. Yeah,
so she's happy about that. Of course, we had the

I'm humbling the Lord, but I'm not humbled about my

And so everybody knew that I'm not humble all on
mac and cheese.

I actually was in Nashville last week. I did this
event called the Comics Ball, and it was for the
Mosley's comedian Ron Ron and his wife Charasma, their daughter.
Their eleven year old daughter died in a car accident
three years ago, and this is how they raised money
and how they remember her through comedy, you know.

And I thought that was really really cool.

And then I got to see my sister who actually
lives in Murphysboro, which is outside of Nashville, and I
saw Brianna.

I got to see one of the doubts. She's living
there now.

Going to see all of them again this week in
Nashville for the Seller Awards. But I spent the most
money ever at Bathom Body Works because the three way candles.

I went twice. You sent us that text I said,

I went twice, and I consumed a lot of football
and hung out with my wife.

about my sweet niece Leah.

She has always been my super cool niece. She's always
been aware of her environment. She's always had common sense.
You know how some kids you can trick them and
you know, tell them certain things and then she'll go, no,
that that's not true, that's not right. She was always
paying attention and that's why she's always the niece that
if she's there, everybody's happy about it. It's a few
of the cousins in my family that if they're there,

the aunties and the mamas and the uncles are always like,
we know, we cool because we know they gonna make
good decisions.

Well, that's my niece.

Leah and she is going away to college and we're
super excited about it. But I thought was so beautiful yesterday.
We got together as a family and we just loved
her and prayed over her, and you know, remembered the
things that she did. Her friends were there, church, family,
some aunts and uncles, my mom, you know, so she
has her grandmother and everybody just praying over her and
speaking life over her. But the really cool thing was

the younger cousins who talked about what a good big
cousin she is. Now she's turning twenty two this year.
Many of you may have watched her on the Mary Marychelle.
She's Tina's their second baby and just a real blessing,
a real like a man, I'm an miss Leah. When

the older ones say, hey, Mom, we going out, I'll
be like, is Leah going? If Leah's going, I'd be like, okay,
all right, Not that the others won't make good decisions,
but she just watches in a different way. And I
am so proud of her. She took a year off
of school, family and life and money and all that
stuff happens. And you know, what we try to do
with my family is once they get to college, just

make them responsible, so you know, they have to figure
out their money and they have to figure out things,
which ain't easy when you're twenty something years old. But
she has handled it with such care, she's handled it
with integrity. Not that she's been perfect, who is what
is perfect? But she's always honest, and I just think
that's so beautiful. So I am wishing my niece well
and she goes off to college with what I think

is really great. In addition to that is how the
younger cousins are seeing what affirmation looks like, what it
looks like to have your village. One of the deacons

So Erica, A lot of times our increases are tied
to our performance reviews. It's really important that you have
le to one preferably to review schedule a year. Please
be intentional about that. I know a lot of times
people avoid them, they hate them, but a lot of
times our increased compensation is tied to the acknowledgment of

our contributions when they're still fresh.

I love that. So what are three steps for preparing
to ask for a raise?

Three things people need to do Airhut. Number one, please
do your research. Know who makes the decision about your raise.
You want to make sure you're talking to the right person. Also,
know the salary range that you're asking for. Number two,
you want to make sure you're scheduling the media with
your manager to have that conversation and be prepared whether
it's in person, zoom over the phone.

And last, don't take it light.

Practice, practice practice. You want to make sure that you
feel confident shooting your shot and that you're ready and
equipped to ask for what you feel that you deserve.

You know, it's really important that people be specific, Erica.

how you know? Please be specific, you know people you

want to do the listing for people you do, not
want to make them think too hard. Please tell your
story and shoot your shot, even in your resume.

Outside of documenting your accomplishments and accolades saying I was
awesome all week and not as awesome the week before.
What can you do with your responsibility change? But your
salary stays the same, Like they just want to give
you a different name for something. You are now the
managerial chief, operating janitor.

It's funny, Griff, how frequently that happened?

Now you have more responsibilities. Now your titles change, which
you're like, wait a minute, where is my money? Gread
nothing else has changed. Please be intentional and direct and
ask what conditions need to be in place for me
to give more compensation? So we want to be respectful,

and when we have these conversations, you know, we don't
want to be angry, we don't want to have our
little attitudes.

But be directed and ask that question, what do I
need to accomplish to do?

What do I need to do in order to make
more money? Let them tell you and then by when,
please make sure that you are scheduling that intentional time
to circle back, follow up? What again? Whoever this decision
maker is, so you know you'll look up in the
weeks have become months, make sure you have that follow
up meeting with them so you can get that additional

money that you deserve.

Okay, lastly, what should listeners do after negotiation a salary?

Of course, I want to make sure that we have.

Everything in writing, so we don't want to play any

do that. Also, please make sure that we follow up
with inappropriate thank you. You know, when people have heard
you shoot your shot, you know and you have been
prepared and you shared your accolades. Griff like you talked about,
you get that additional money, thank you. I think it's

did not send his son into the world to condemn
the world, but that the world threw him might be saved.
So anytime you are feeling condemnation that ain't God, conviction
comes from the Holy Spirit.

Conviction makes you want to change.

Conviction says I don't want to let God down, or
I may be headed in the wrong direction. Because conviction
lets you know that you did something wrong. Condemnation tells
you you are something wrong. So I want us to
make sure that we recognize that God is always trying
to draw us, not to make us feel bad about ourselves,
but to make us walk into his loving arms that

he has available to us. You think he sent his
son to just bash you and make you feel bad. No,
that's religiosity. Religiosity says you ain't good enough, and it's
these five rules, and you didn't follow these rules.

His condemnation says, I want you to come this way.
That's not the best choice for you.

As you return to God and you repent to God,
Repent is not just a word that makes you shake
and shiver. It means I can come back to the Father.
I can get in right relationship with the Father. I
can lay down what I thought I was and pick
up who he said I was because his love comes
to convict me to change, not to condemn me. It
said he did not send his son into the world

to condemn the world, but that the world through him
might be saved. All right, walk into that conviction, reject
that condemnation. You don't serve a god like that.

He wants you to change and be better, because he
is better, because he's drawing you to be closer to him,
because he wants to get glory out of your life,
because there's purpose for your life.

And I want you to walk in purpose, on purpose.

be good enough? Of course, you were made by the

in the building.

My family comes to concerts and has been coming to
concerts since I started in music. Every concert somebody gonna
come and say, hey, I'm here.

What do I do?

It sends me to the moon, because what you're gonna
do is you're gonna park, You're gonna go to the window,
you're gonna get your tickets, You're gonna come in. Griff.
They call me every single time. I love them so much.
I'm like, get off my phone.

We've been doing it too long. Your names it will
call get your ticket, come in and sit down.

But you know, I was called, where's the real was
at the front of the building. That's where you get
your tickets. It's where it is that every building in
the front of the building. Oh god, oh god. They'd
be driving me, Oh god, and.

They want to come to every concert. I'd be like, no,
this is work. Don't want to go to your job.
This is work. I love them so much and watch
them type, just sit there and to ask questions about
their job. Okay.

So then after that, then I had to go to
host Jeryl Wall's listening album release called Heart of Mine,
amazing record. He sang and we did some conversation and
it was really cool. This nice place on Sunset where
they do these big Grammy events. I was proud of
him before doing an album release.

You know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
At a venue like that, it was really really cool.
Then Leah was lead is leaving this week. She's going
away to college. She had to take a year off
and most people when they stopped, they never go back.
She took a year off and she's going back, but
she's moving away. And we all got together spoke over
her life, prayed and laughed and cried and all that stuff.

No, she's going to Nashville. Wow, I know that's so far.
Jesus Christ is.

Happy because she's like, yeah, she's close to me Atlanta. Yeah,
so she's happy about that. Of course, we had the
two services. I had to cook mac and cheese. Listen,
I'm humbling the Lord, but I'm not humbled about my
mac and cheese.

And so everybody knew that I'm not humble all on
mac and cheese.

I'm humbled with the Lord, but that mac and cheese,
I'm not humble about it.

Oh yeah, oh yeah. When they said I didn't even
ask me if they liked it. I said, oh, you're welcome.
I know you like it. They was cracking up. How
was how was your week? Because mine was.

I actually was in Nashville last week. I did this
event called the Comics Ball, and it was for the
Mosley's comedian Ron Ron and his wife Charasma, their daughter.
Their eleven year old daughter died in a car accident
three years ago, and this is how they raised money
and how they remember her through comedy, you know.

And I thought that was really really cool.

And then I got to see my sister who actually
lives in Murphysboro, which is outside of Nashville, and I
saw Brianna.

I got to see one of the doubts. She's living
there now.

Going to see all of them again this week in
Nashville for the Seller Awards. But I spent the most
money ever at Bathom Body Works because the three way candles.

Was buy one, get one for you. It's over now.
I went twice. You sent us that text I said,
griff is losing his mind.

I went twice, and I consumed a lot of football
and hung out with my wife.

about my sweet niece Leah.

She has always been my super cool niece. She's always
been aware of her environment. She's always had common sense.
You know how some kids you can trick them and
you know, tell them certain things and then she'll go, no,
that that's not true, that's not right. She was always
paying attention and that's why she's always the niece that
if she's there, everybody's happy about it. It's a few
of the cousins in my family that if they're there,

the aunties and the mamas and the uncles are always like,
we know, we cool because we know they gonna make
good decisions.

Well, that's my niece.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Leah and she is going away to college and we're
super excited about it. But I thought was so beautiful yesterday.
We got together as a family and we just loved
her and prayed over her, and you know, remembered the
things that she did. Her friends were there, church, family,
some aunts and uncles, my mom, you know, so she
has her grandmother and everybody just praying over her and
speaking life over her. But the really cool thing was

the younger cousins who talked about what a good big
cousin she is. Now she's turning twenty two this year.
Many of you may have watched her on the Mary Marychelle.
She's Tina's their second baby and just a real blessing,
a real like a man, I'm an miss Leah. When
(20:55):
the older ones say, hey, Mom, we going out, I'll
be like, is Leah going? If Leah's going, I'd be like, okay,
all right, Not that the others won't make good decisions,
but she just watches in a different way. And I
am so proud of her. She took a year off
of school, family and life and money and all that
stuff happens. And you know, what we try to do
with my family is once they get to college, just
(21:15):
make them responsible, so you know, they have to figure
out their money and they have to figure out things,
which ain't easy when you're twenty something years old. But
she has handled it with such care, she's handled it
with integrity. Not that she's been perfect, who is what
is perfect? But she's always honest, and I just think
that's so beautiful. So I am wishing my niece well
and she goes off to college with what I think
(21:36):
is really great. In addition to that is how the
younger cousins are seeing what affirmation looks like, what it
looks like to have your village. One of the deacons
from our church came, Deacon Taven Jones, who we love
so much, and he told her he said, every school
has a resource center, right and she said yes. He said,
the resource center is where your resources are, where you
(21:57):
can go and get what you need or find out
what you need or find out where you can get it.
He said, this room is also your resource center. So
when you are low on joy, and when you are
low on love, and when you are low on encouragement,
tap into this resource center. He was like, everybody in
here is a source of joy and inspiration and motivation
and sometimes correction too. So don't forget to tap into

your resource center. And that's my message for you today.
There is a resource center for you.

jump right in. When is the best time to negotiate
a salary increase?

So Erica, A lot of times our increases are tied
to our performance reviews. It's really important that you have
le to one preferably to review schedule a year. Please
be intentional about that. I know a lot of times
people avoid them, they hate them, but a lot of
times our increased compensation is tied to the acknowledgment of

our contributions when they're still fresh.

I love that. So what are three steps for preparing
to ask for a raise?
Speaker 14 (30:23):
Three things people need to do Airhut. Number one, please
do your research. Know who makes the decision about your raise.
You want to make sure you're talking to the right person. Also,
know the salary range that you're asking for. Number two,
you want to make sure you're scheduling the media with
your manager to have that conversation and be prepared whether
it's in person, zoom over the phone.

And last, don't take it light.
Speaker 14 (30:47):
Practice, practice practice. You want to make sure that you
feel confident shooting your shot and that you're ready and
equipped to ask for what you feel that you deserve.

to help them earn more income?

You know, it's really important that people be specific, Erica.
You know, if you manage people, how many you know?
If you're in charge of a budget, how much you know?
If you want any awards, which one you know? If
you saved your company money or time, how much and
how you know? Please be specific, you know people you

want to do the listing for people you do, not
want to make them think too hard. Please tell your
story and shoot your shot, even in your resume.

Outside of documenting your accomplishments and accolades saying I was
awesome all week and not as awesome the week before.
What can you do with your responsibility change? But your
salary stays the same, Like they just want to give
you a different name for something. You are now the
managerial chief, operating janitor.

It's funny, Griff, how frequently that happened?

You know?

You look up?

Now you have more responsibilities. Now your titles change, which
you're like, wait a minute, where is my money? Gread
nothing else has changed. Please be intentional and direct and
ask what conditions need to be in place for me
to give more compensation? So we want to be respectful,

and when we have these conversations, you know, we don't
want to be angry, we don't want to have our
little attitudes.

But be directed and ask that question, what do I
need to accomplish to do?
Speaker 14 (32:33):
What do I need to do in order to make
more money? Let them tell you and then by when,
please make sure that you are scheduling that intentional time
to circle back, follow up? What again? Whoever this decision
maker is, so you know you'll look up in the
weeks have become months, make sure you have that follow
up meeting with them so you can get that additional

money that you deserve.

Okay, lastly, what should listeners do after negotiation a salary?

Of course, I want to make sure that we have.

Everything in writing, so we don't want to play any
games with any verbal conversation, so let's make sure we
do that. Also, please make sure that we follow up
with inappropriate thank you. You know, when people have heard
you shoot your shot, you know and you have been
prepared and you shared your accolades. Griff like you talked about,
you get that additional money, thank you. I think it's

more than appropriate.

To do that, for sure.

Absolutely, yeah, And I think people should make sure they're
actually capable and they actually can earn what they're asking for.
I had an employee that asks for a forty thousand
dollars race and she had only been working for four months.

been there four months, She's not talking to you.

She told me everything that she deserved. I said, Oh,
I'm glad that you believe in yourself. Yes, not this

three or four blocks.

We had never done that before, and Walsey was like, wow, mom,
this is really cool. Plus he lost his phone, so
he was really paying attention. He had a good time
with the walk because he just needed something to do.
But I digress. No, we had a good time, and
then we you know, we walked back. Of course, my
sister of Love and Chris to took an uber because
they're bougie. But I'm walk from the walk. I said,

We're not you not taking an uber back. We all
walking together. We literally just walking down the street. I
thought it was simpol something. You don't see them on
the street. That's you know, like New York and place
like that. You see people walking ed burrywhere. So that
was really cool. It is not a I didn't celebrate them,
but I'm spending time with him, and that's power before
families and for relationships.

When was the last time you hung out with all
your kids, well, all my kids probably Christmas?

But I've been hanging out with, so I had a
chance to hang out with Jamison for the whole summer.
She actually starts school at Kennessas State this Friday. I'll
be in Nashville, so I won't be able to help
her move in, but my son and my brother's gonna go.
I'll be there on Monday as soon as I come
back from Nashville. But just really had a chance, you know,

the last six seven weeks to really just you know,
put her on game and stuff like, hey man, college
is different. It's not high school. You know, keep your
head on a swivel, pay attention. You know what I'm saying,
don't get caught up and just you've been perfect this far.

other things. But you know, who am I.

I ain't going to college. I can't tell you nothing
about school for reals, you know what I'm saying. I mean,
