let us pray, Lord Jesus, you are good, and your
mercy endure forever. We thank you, Lord God for your power.
We thank you for your strength. We thank you for
your love and your kindness. We thank you God for
(01:05):
being with us today. Lord, we thank you that as
we go through this day, we will be a representative
of your goodness, Lord, will reflect your glory, will be

(01:36):
and Miranda Curtis. Here's Mary Mary with Carol of the Bells.
I'll get up mornings favor, you know. All right, Sybil's
back with what we need to know today. Good morning,
sybyl It's Cibil Wilks with what we need to know.
(01:57):
The US Supreme Court ruled against President Trump for now
declining to temporarily restore his authority to deploy National Guard
troops to the state of Illinois over the governor's objections.
The administration argued the move was necessary to address violence
against ice facilities in the Chicago area, but lower courts
found the unrest did not rise to the level of
(02:18):
a rebellion, justifying federal intervention. House Democratic Representative Joyce Batty
of Ohio sued President Donald Trump in an effort to
force the removal of his name from the John F.
Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. The lawsuit argues the board's
vote to rename the building the Trump Kennedy Center was illegal,
(02:38):
saying only Congress as the authority to change the name
of the National Memorial. Bat He added the move violates
the rule of law and undermines Congress's intent for the
Senate to honor President Kennedy as a non partisan cultural landmark.
As the job market titans and traditional hiring channels falls short,
some Americans are turning to data apps to find work.
(03:02):
A resume Builder survey found one third of dating app
users now use platforms like Tender and Bumble for job
or career networking as unemployment rises and companies cut roles
amid increase AI adoption. Career experts say the shift reflects
a brutal job market, forcing workers to get creative when
(03:23):
conventional methods fail. From the Good News File, Elwood Jones
was sentenced to death in nineteen ninety four for the
murder of sixty seven year old Rhoda Nathan. Now his
case has been dismissed after prosecutor said the evidence no
longer supports his guilt. Mister Jones, who was freed in
twenty twenty two after being granted a new trial, is
(03:44):
now fully cleared in the Nathan death. I'm Sybil Wilkes,
wishing you all a very happy holiday.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Be informed, b mpowered in good game. It's good as
still up sports minute.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
Good morning, get up church well Shawne Scott's back during
a quick sports minute because I got a problem with
this DK Metclap situation. I just can't get past this.
Now there are reports coming out saying that he had
an issue with this same Lines fan back in twenty
twenty four that the Seahawks security was made aware of.
(04:20):
Now word is that the fan allegedly called DK's mom
a derogatory name, then turned around and called DK the
N word, and that far right there is super problematic.
Now the fan is saying I only called him by
his government name and he got mad. Sir, please be serious.
We all know what time it is at the end
of the day. DK's money is on the line, his
(04:41):
career is on the line, and emotions get real when
disrespect shows up.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
So let's pray for DK in this situation.
Speaker 6 (04:48):
And while we at it, y'all pray for my cowboys
because right now me and Cheryl Aine friends. Tomorrow the
Cowboys take on the Washington Commanders in d C. That's
your quick sports minute. I'm Shannie Scott. Here's Sueryl with
the birthdays. Thank you, Shannie.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
If you're celebrating your birthday, you're celebrating today with Lee Damuels,
celebrity hairstylist Kim Kimball. So a special birthday shout out
to my friend Jeff Pargroves at Ty Scott Records, Shelley Graves,
my cousin, her birthday is today, and program director me
to Washington. And if it's your birthday, well, happy birthday.
From Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
If you're listening to Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell,
faith Walking.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Right now, hey man, faith walk.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day,
and today I want to talk about facing opposition when
you're doing the right thing. You know, something in our
mind tells us when we do the right thing, everything
should go right. I'm doing right, so everything should go right.
Life don't really work that way. It is the case
with me and Maya. If you ever read his story.
He wanted to rebuild the wall for the children of Israel,
(06:04):
and he had opposition on every side, but he was
so focused on God's mission. He never stopped the mission
to address the mess. And a lot of times we
are doing the right thing, we're doing the work. It's
really like if you're a student, or you trying to
pay bills and you're doing all the things and a
bunch of bills hit you and you don't have them.
You got mobiles than money, and you get frustrated. But
I'm doing the right thing, yo. That is usually the
(06:28):
time when life starts life, and that is the time
that you got to double down focus on God. Not
only pray for provision and pray for blessing, but pray
for strength to not give up and not quit. It
can be very discouraging when you've done, when you feel like,
you know, we all think we've done stuff right, but
everybody's made mistakes.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
It's clear. It's easy to get discouraged and put.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
Your eyes on something else when all the opposition, whether
it is somebody talking about you, whether somebody you know
coming against you, or you just the problems that come
along with trying to do right, because most people want
to lie and chet and do wrong. You've got to
stand strong and your desire to please God me a
Maya desire was to please God by building a wall
(07:11):
for the children of Israel. And he didn't get distracted
by the people, the many people. He faced oppression, the
Bible tells us, but he kept going. And so today
where you are, maybe you're not building a wall, but
you're trying to build something, build a life, build a ministry,
build a new career, build rebuild some things. You're trying
to do these things and you're facing opposition. I want
(07:32):
you to be encouraged today. I want you to stand strong.
I want you to know that there is help and
that there is hope. I pray one that the help
comes to your heart and your mind that you become
so resilient and so determined that people's negativity and their
words don't even bother you. Listen, y'all, I post good
stuff and stuff that I think can help people and
it's always somebody ignorant in the comments. You think I'm
(07:52):
always my good breath on that ignorant person when I
know what I did was good. Nope, I'm gonna let
it be there, and guess what, sometimes I'll delete the
negative comment.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
I'm time. I just let us sit there.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
So even the person that posted that keep coming back
to see if I responded, knows you can't. You can't
get to me like I'm smarter than that. You can't
get to me like that. You got to come with
something better than that. Then I'm gonna stop walking in purpose,
stop walking in my calling because you don't agree.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
God bless you in your disagreement. Be well wherever you are,
brother and sister.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
But I'm gonna keep walking in purpose because I know
who I am and whose I am. My songs say
I know who I am and I know who I'm not.
So you can call me all the things you want
to call me. I'm gonna still keep walking in purpose.
And this is a great example of it. So if
you have a moment, just get into just the whole
book of Neamyah. Read the scripture, read the verses where
they kept coming and kept coming, trying to distract them.
(08:41):
We need you to come in for a minute. He like, No,
I'm building, I'm not bothering. I'm not fooling with y'all. Y'all,
stop fooling with these negative people. Don't be so easily distracted.
Stay focused, stay on course, stay on God's mission and watch.
God give you strength to overcome. And every time you
overcome something, you get a little stronger. Every time you're
able to bypass foolishness, you get a little stronger. So
(09:03):
I pray that you get a little stronger today. All right,
that is my faith walk of the day. Don't be distracted, y'all.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
You know what it is.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
We want you to shout out some birthdays. Eight seven
seven two four two two four two six. That's eight
seven seven two four two two four two six.

It's signed for serious Grip.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Are you serious? Come on, it's real all right, mister
Griffin is on you, sir.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Wow, what a what a year. I'll just say that,
what a year man. And I was. I was really
doing the math on when I lived at the house
that I stay. I was written before when I came
from Texas, and it was literally ninety four days that
Lenika and Roz and I said hey, let's get a house.
(15:42):
In ninety four days, I'm living in my dream home
right now. This year we won another Stellar award. I
bought my wife a truck on my own credit, with
no like. I was very proud of my My credit
is up, my kids are well, my shows. I was
(16:04):
booked and busy all year, super duper blessed just getting
ready for next year and then being able to take
these next couple of weeks and then let's not forget
I'm about I'm I'm married five years next week. My
anniversary is on the thirtieth. So like this, I love
(16:28):
I loved this year a lot versus a lot of
the other years, just because I stopped talking about it
and I just did it. I had all the excuses
why I shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Have a house. Oh yeah, well you know I didn't.
But it was straight ls. It was straight low self esteem.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
And I'm so blessed to have a business partner Roz
that don't be trying to hear that from me ever.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
And a wife that.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Says, you know, you you one of the people I
know that as the big faith in the world. So
it's just weird to hear you not replicate that when
you talk and you know, so that's her nice way
of saying, grow up.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
I love it. I have my son here and his family.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
I flew my son and his family here, all four
of them for Christmas, and that's and that's a you know.
And then next year we want to be able to
bring our kids on a cruise or to an airbnb
like we did. Like it's I'm in that stage of
my life to wanted to let my kids. No just
(17:37):
because you've grown and got kids, I'm still your daddy.
We can still do fun stuff like it's still all
about us. But I also know they got family, so
it can't just be my son or a daughter and
gotta be everybody. So I just thank God for putting
me in a position where I am able to bring
everybody in. And man, I'm super duper grateful and I'm
(17:59):
gonna just keep this posture going in the next year.
I'm excited about my anniversary five years my little Funky five.
Don't hate on my little Funky five. I'm excited about
my little Funky five. Yeah, people don't make it to three.
So that's my mister Griffin.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Right, I love it. I love it. Well, we just
love serious Griff.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
That's you know, just to have a posture of gratitude,
I just think allows you to enjoy the moment even more.
Not a not time or finally, but God, thank God
for everything you accomplished.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
You know, just the consistency that.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
God has brought to your the orders that God has
brought to your life, is so grateful. For you were
celebrating with you, y'all. All right, guys, it's Get Up Mornings.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
That's mister Griffin. We love mister Griffin. Griff.
Speaker 5 (18:46):
How can they hear these mister Griffins, because I'm sure
some of these people want to hear more of them.
You encourage a lot of men every day.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
Well a lot of times I put them on you know,
our our social media. But then you can go to
Get Up Airgood dot com and click on the podcast
link and then you can just see, you know, where
they are.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
I appreciate you, guys.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
I have to thank Dan o'tero dio for saying when
we first started, e hey, Griff, everybody know you're a
comedian and everybody know you know you funny, and but
you don't want to be a clown on the show
like you like. It got to be a serious side
about you, right, And that's where mister Griffin came from.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
So thank you Dan, ten years ago. Come on, I
love it, y'all. Stick around. It's more on the way.
I'm Get Up Morning.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
If you're listening to Get Up Erica Kim.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Eric of the Day or Get Up Mornings with Eric, Yes, it.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
Is time for the Erica is of the day, and uh,
this morning, on my way to work, I turned on
my music as I usually do, and went through a
few songs, and then All in the Plan came on
with Leandrea and Mary Mary and we were nominated for
Grammy for that song. And then after that Help came
on and I did that song back in twenty thirteen.
(20:11):
But it just blessed my heart this morning, It really
really did. And sometimes you just need a song to
get you through. This is why I love what I do.
I know what music has meant for me. I know
what gospel songs have carried my heart, have lifted me
out of a pit, that have given me courage. And
to know that I've been able to do that is
(20:33):
a total blessing and a total honor. So I don't
take this for granted what I do. There is now
one ounce of arrogance in people listening or liking my music.
It is Lord, this is how my heart is crying
out today, and my heart is crying out to you.
And maybe, just maybe there's somebody that feels like I feel,
that needs a song like Total Praise, that needs a
(20:55):
song like Shackles, that needs a song like it will
be all right.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
You know that needs a song like Jesus is Real.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
Whatever the song is that needs a song like I
Need You by the Walls Group, that song just blesses
my soul.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
There's so many songs that have changed lives.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
And maybe it won't make never one and maybe it
won't win awards, but I'm telling you, the purpose is
to touch somebody's life, to encourage somebody's soul and let
them know that they can make it. So all my
artists and creatives, maybe your song doesn't do all the things,
but it's doing all the things. I'm telling you. Nobody
was there when I was listening to help this morning.
(21:33):
It just blessed me for me. So whoever is listening,
wherever you're listening, I pray that you hear something that
allows you to tie a knot in the end of
that rope that you hanging on, and you hang on just.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
A little while longer.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
I pray that you hear something that gives you a
new and a better perspective on who God is and
what he can do in your life. I pray that
you hear something that, while the enemy is trying to
tear up your life, you play a song that escorts
him right on out the building, and you welcome in
the presence and the power of God in your car,
in your house, in your headphones, wherever you are. The
(22:10):
power of gospel music is life changing. Whether it is
vertical or horizontal, whether it is Lord, you are Good
or Jesus on the main line, both are true and
both are.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Needed at different times.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
So I thank God for being a part of this
gospel music community. But I'm also really grateful that I
get blessed by it too. I can't tell you how
many times I've sat in my car and put on
Trouble Ain't gonna be here every day. I can't tell
you how many times I needed to play I Love
the Lord, whether it was Richard Smallwood Wood in Houston
(22:44):
or me, because He really does hear my cry, y'all.
He really really does. And I can almost get emotional
about it because I'm so grateful for the faithfulness of God.
I'm so grateful for his hand in my life. I'm
so grateful for being able to go to things like
this tell Or Awards not only just celebrate the music,
but no that I'm blessed to be a part of
that community. If you've ever been blessed by gospel artists,
(23:07):
if you follow them on a social media on social media,
just tell them your music bless my life, your music
change my life.
Speaker 14 (23:13):
Y'all.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
We need that. We need that.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
We struggle sometimes we do because we look at mainstream
artists and we go God, we want an audience that
big for you. We want to reach people like that
for you, and sometimes it's just not the story. But
guess what, We're gonna keep singing. We're gonna keep praising God.
We're gonna keep coming to your churches and to your
conferences and to your events to encourage people.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
We sure are. And while it's blessing you, it's also
blessing us.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
So y'all be encouraged, all us gospel music lovers out there.
I'm grateful to play it every single weekday, morning, and
even sometime on the weekend on get up weekends. So
thank y'all for supporting, because we can't do it without you.
All right, guys, that's the air chaism of the day.
You know, we got the joys and concerns up next,
and of course more great gospel music to bless your soul,
(23:58):
change change your life. You cry, make you laugh. All
that stuff, it's all wrapped up in one. I'm Erica Campbell.
I love you and I mean it. Y'all stick around.
We got more on the way. Let's get up morning.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
If you're listening to.
Speaker 7 (24:18):
Get up, let the church say Amen.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Time for joys and concerns.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Well, I'll say to the Most High God, we are
coming to your life from the get up Church of
our Lord. Back to Costain Denominational Denominational A M E C,
M E E N G L M N O P
at Postolic Church of God in Christ.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
All right, brother grip at the Lord. Hush, thank you,
lady past.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
There, Yes, you're that for you today, that was for us,
that was that was for us right there. It's like, okay,
the first giving honor to God who was ahead of
my life.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I'd like to.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Say, I'm glad to be in the house of the
Lord one more time held a girl, because he brought
me from a mighty, mighty long way since the rag.
I could have been dead, sleeping in the grave.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
But God is good all the time, all the time.
God is good. Yes, yes, I'm concerned.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
So y'all know I got them lights in my driveway
that I was very proud of putting them up right.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Well, every.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Two of three weeks or so, I just see one light,
just real gangster lane, like real pushed over right now,
and I asked my wife. They stopped hitting the lights
and it ain't hurt. Sure, it ain't hurt. I call
it on tape. It's a it's an Amazon and the
FedEx people. So I had to go get a light
(25:57):
over the weekend. I was so mad. I was like,
only need the steak. I don't need a whole light.
And it was we don't stay to you know, sell
the steaks. You can just take a steak. I said,
that's stealing. I don't want to. I need to go
to I'll just go to Amazon and just buy the steaks.
But you need to know the diameter of the steak.
So instead I buy a sign that says no trucks
(26:19):
beyond this point.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
You know what I'm saying, Like in my.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Driveway, why two trucks came last night in my driveway and.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
By the time I can run out and ain't get
out of my driveway, it was gone. It was already going.
So I don't I don't know. I'm so frustrated by it,
like look at you with homeowner problems right about somebody
that going right down?
Speaker 4 (26:44):
Zay't grip yet, just your mind lights say eight dollars
right all right? Somebody else saying you wait till they
leave oil stains in your driveway. That's gonna be even better.
You can get to say an you all right? But
if you like man, you know Erica just made this home.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
On the problem.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
But I do ain't those steaks though, I ain't gonna
look every time I talk about home own her anything.
My cousin, Arvin clarkby listening and saying, you know you
can go to Loses. I think you used to work low.
You go to Lows. It's a section one nine six five,
got the whole.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Path right for it. So, Arvin, I'm waiting for your text.
I'm about there.
Speaker 7 (27:24):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
I love it, And you was blaming lemkau see you
better go on her.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
I was seeing these ran over lights. You can't ask
about wife, babe, you know what happened to that? And
he was like, she is.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
She too same to she not letty save? She don't
even lie like that?
Speaker 4 (27:46):
But d what she just always she always looked away
I don't know what. I'm sorry, Mabe.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
I know that's why I started.
Speaker 15 (27:57):
Around.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
It gets better and better on Good Up Morning.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
You're listening to you.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
It's get Up Morning's y'all America Campbell, loving Jesus and
loving you on this wonderful Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Listen, guys.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Eleven minutes after the hour, we'll talk to Major, our
very loud friend.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
We love him so much.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
Yes, I love when other people get called.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
It's new single, little drummer Board. We'll talk about that.
Speaker 5 (28:29):
Plus Wake Up and Win with Doctor Willie Jolly music
from CC winings, Yolanda Adams and Tamila Man.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Listen.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Let me tell you something that I am so honored
to be able to say. I have a great relationship
with my gods, bartist friends. I really do. I'm not
beefing with nobody. I'm not to nobody. Literally, when we
accomplish things, we support one another, sin thank you messages
and celebratory messages, and I just think that is such
a blessing.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
And so that's my prayer that in your life you
got no no issues with nobody.
Speaker 5 (28:59):
Just just be cool, just be listen. Set all of
that aside. It's time to get that stuff off your heart,
forgive and love people and move forward. All right, here's
BB and CC winus with the first Noel and Get
Up Morning.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Welcome.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Joining us today is platinum soul singer and friend to
the show.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
It's Major, Ladies and gentlemen. Major welcome back to Get
Up Warning, Get up Listen. It's a good time.
Speaker 7 (29:29):
Huh.
Speaker 15 (29:30):
We're sitting tady, We're ready to talk. I'm honest to
be back with my friends.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
I love y'all, glad to have you. So listen. You
have a new Christmas single.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
Why don't you briefly introduce it and then we'll come
back and talk more about it.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Little Drummer Boy.
Speaker 15 (29:45):
It's a classic that I've loved for a very long time,
and I just reimagined.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
It a little bit.
Speaker 15 (29:52):
But it allows me to express the love that I
really have for our Maker, our King, our Lord. Here's
Little Drummer Boys by Major.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Here it is on Get Up Mornings.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
I aw, that's Major with his Christmas single, Little Drummer Boy.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Major.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
You know that I love your voice and this classic
is actually perfect for you. So since we talked last time,
you've had a first in gospel music, got your first
solo stellar nomination and your first number one gospel on Billboard.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Airplas a soul singer. How does this feel?
Speaker 15 (30:26):
You know, it's funny because I'm getting flashbacks of Griff
in the middle of the Stellars yelling major.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Time. Just wasn't even yelling. No, I was just saying it.
You absolutely weren't yelling. It was your normal voice. Oh
you have this natural boom.
Speaker 15 (30:45):
Nevertheless, it was an honor to be celebrated in the
category and a genre that started me in music period.
And so to be embraced by a community of folks
that I love dearly, it just meant everything. And I
prayed for you has really made its wound. So many
people are loving that song even still, and I got
(31:08):
to thank you all for really showing me a lot
of love on that one.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Too, always always behind me.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
I'm so proud of you, man, like seriously, just since
I first met you, and of course Eric has known
you longer. But what you have achieved, what you have
just worked on, and really, Doug, you are a doer
like you not playing with him out here, you actually
out here, come on man, singing in your life. And
(31:34):
not only that, but you gotta what you're doing right now.
You got a mixtape with you just being motivational.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
The Hope Dealer session. Stop playing with a grill. I'm
my mama's.
Speaker 15 (31:48):
Favorite hope dealer, and you know I amplify that hope
and love life, community and culture, just to remind people
it's hope thing. We can't do life without it. As
matter of fact, we can't even talk faith without hope
because faith is the substance of things hoped for. And
I really want people to understand the narrative of hope
(32:10):
is that hope is not the denial of reality. It's
a commitment to be leave greater is on the other
side of it. We're not pretending that struggle and circumstances
aren't real in this season right now, griff Man, it's heavy.
It's an annual thing that around this time we get
(32:31):
deeply introspected. We start looking at all the stuff that
ain't working for us, all the stuff that is missing,
or the stuff that we wish we had. But I'm
really wanting to encourage us in this time to lock
in on what has already happened.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
To take a Selb moment.
Speaker 15 (32:51):
That's an expression that we heard David use often in
the Book of Psalms, which basically means to pause, to
calmly think on what God has already done, what he's
doing in the right now, Not to push yourself into tomorrow,
but stay right here. You'll realize that life has actually
been good and the good will always outweigh the bad.
(33:14):
The Hope Deilly Sessions is available everywhere. It's got some.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Special stuff on. It's the remix of.
Speaker 15 (33:20):
I Pray for You with David Banner. He's got you know,
it's got some good stuff for and I'm really praying
that it encourages the hearts of the people in this time.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
My friend, the platinum soul singer Major, download and stream
all of his music today.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
Just do a refresh and be encouraged by all that
he does. Major. We appreciate you, my friend, and.
Speaker 15 (33:39):
I appreciate y'all. Thank you for making time for me.
Get up.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
All right, referend we'll talk to you soon. No, it's enough.
I like it. We're loud here, We're loud here. Okay,
it works. Stick around, guys. We have so much more.
It's just for you. On Get up morning, man.
Speaker 7 (34:05):
If you're listening to get up with Erica Cambo, It's
time to wake up and win with Doctor Willie Jolly.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Eric camp It's another great day.
Speaker 16 (34:22):
This is doctor Willy Jolly, author of the book A
Setback as a set Up for Come Back, and host
to the Willie Jolly Wealthy Ways Podcast. As we celebrate
this wonderful time of the year, I have a special
twelve Days of Christmas program to help you and your
family to win more.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Each and every day.
Speaker 16 (34:37):
On the eleventh day of Christmas, I want to share
the gift of dreams. Iconic writer Alfred Lord Tennyson said,
nothing ever built a rose to touch the sky unless
someone dreamed that it should, believe that it could, and
willed that it must. Those who dream big dreams of
those who achieve big results. This Christmas, encourage others to
(35:00):
dream big and then to go after their dreams, no
matter how crazy those dreams may seem. Remember, only those
who dreamed the impossible achieve the incredible, and only those
who attempt the ridiculous achieve the spectacular.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I contend that if you can dream it and believe it,
then you can achieve it.
Speaker 16 (35:19):
This Christmas, share the gift of dreaming big and then
manifesting those dreams as you move toward your destiny. This
is doctor Willy y'all to go to win with Willie
dot com for resources to help you win more and
remember to make the most of each and every minute
because your best is yet to come.
Speaker 7 (35:34):
Merry Christmas if you're listening to get up Eric Campbos.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Good morning with Eriga Campbell.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
We are back with waffles and tea where you can
find out about the whole cruise Shiny Venos, myself, Sheryl
and Erga.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Thank y'all.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
I mean, we tell y'all everything, but we wanna tell
y'all a little more this week.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
How about it?
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Well, got you some of them biscuits over syrup on.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
Your biscuits or jelly honey like today whatever the day is?
Speaker 1 (36:09):
A three?
Speaker 15 (36:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (36:10):
Three?
Speaker 1 (36:11):
That's so fat. I feel like jogging now, Okay, don't
play with me?
Speaker 15 (36:22):
All right?
Speaker 1 (36:23):
What's your favorite Christmas memory? Uh?
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Team Shane will start with you. What's your favorite Christmas memory?
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (36:29):
Wow, this is so well, this is hard to answer
because we don't really celebrate Christmas.
Speaker 8 (36:37):
So yeah, we.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Really don't celebrate Christmas.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
It's we we just make it a point to do
stuff all year instead of just one day.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
You say, you talk about you and your two daughters, right, yeah,
we don't. We don't. We don't celebrate.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Christmas every day. That's kind of good though. I like
Christmas every day. Yeah, so we just but they ain't
getting no gifts every day.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Well the gift of he asked for cash every day.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
So yeah, listen, did you have did you guys grow
up with like decorations and stuff?
Speaker 1 (37:09):
You know we did? I didn't. Oh, I hate to
be the person to do all of this.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
I didn't really like Christmas growing up because I had
this one aunt. She would always complain about what we
got her. So it's like, well, I don't want to
do with this.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Nobody want to. She took a lot of Christmas like
a person. It was all it was.
Speaker 10 (37:29):
She did.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
All of us like it, so nobody really liked it.
And we were just like.
Speaker 17 (37:33):
Well, Jolly came down.
Speaker 6 (37:48):
We need but I am getting the girls Chris presents
this Christmas.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Seryl, what about you?
Speaker 5 (38:05):
You know, my house was the house for Christmas because
my grandmother was the oldest of fifteen siblings, so all
of her children and their children would all come to
my house for Christmas. Soul Christmas, and you know, growing
up was amazing. All family members was coming through there,
trickling through there. The table was always spread and my
(38:26):
parents party. They were like so the Christmas music would
be and they would be dancing, and it was just
it was just Christmas memory. So it's not one that
I just stands out. It's just Christmas. What we call
Christmas on Jefferson Street was was.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Just it for all.
Speaker 5 (38:40):
Yeah, you know what I think, Christmas for me was
never really about gifts because it couldn't afford it. It
was family, It was food, it was cousins, It was
all those things because you know, I grew up and
they were still giving you an orange candy, cane of walnut.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
And the stocking and we were stocked.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Candy already, know the nuts that you can't open with
your hands, those nuts.
Speaker 5 (39:03):
Yeah, absolutely, So it was about that. And even now
my family has Christmas Christmas breakfast, that's Warren's tradition. But
my family started the family sleepover. So every the last
few Christmases, we get together and everybody, all the kids
and the husbands. We have to drag them kicking and
screaming because it's loud, but we're planning for the Christmas
(39:23):
sleepover this year, and so that is it's like a
big for us right now this year. Oh no, no, no, no, no, no,
isn't it. We're gonna get an airbnb.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Oh nice? Got everybody? Oh sweet? And the house I
like that. We did it tinas the first two but
after that it was it was I was like houses
is getting tore up a little bit a lot. Okay,
real quick grip before we go. Favorite memory.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
I also grew up poor, so Christmases were just.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Funny and a whole different way from me.
Speaker 4 (39:55):
But one of my favorite I it took me three
hours and forty five minutes to put this doll house
together for Jamison. She was probably four or three, and
I did it. And she literally played with that dollhouse
for the next nine ten years and it stayed and
(40:16):
she was so grateful and thankful, and I just loved
that she kept playing with it like so that always
made me feel good to just watch her.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
I'm like, sayah, it was a year and then it
was broken. Well, I took care of the dollhouse.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
But the way, what is the obsession with women or
the little girls and naked Barbie doot?
Speaker 5 (40:38):
I don't know they face they was red and blue.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
I said, Saya, you didn't like to dress the shoes.
Speaker 18 (40:48):
He was saying, Oh, oh god, we gotta go, y'all
stick around this more on the way, Get up morning,
y'all finding out too much.
Speaker 19 (40:59):
Y'all gonna sit us auto therapy if you're listening to
get up camp.
Speaker 5 (41:14):
All right, we are back and still having walkers and
tea and hanging out.
Speaker 4 (41:18):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
And the question was what is your favorite Christmas memory?
And venos we want to hear from you. What's your
favorite Christmas memory?
Speaker 3 (41:26):
You know, I think my favorite Christmas memory is is
you know today Christmas Eve?
Speaker 1 (41:31):
We used to do? We used to Uh, we had
a tree. We always had a big tree. Had always had.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
A big hole in it because my dad would pick
out one hole in it for I don't know why.
He'd say it looked full after that the lot, you know,
and then it falls, you know that the branches fall
out and it got a big hole in it every time.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
One time we had a nest in the tree. We
should come on.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
There were like two eggs in it. Robert for real,
Oh wow, but that's not the memory.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
Okay, what's the memory? But the memory, like I said,
is this is this night Christmas Eve.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
We used to sit around We turn off all the
lights and just let the tree light the room, and
you know, us kids would sit there, you know, with
the anticipation of what was going to happen the next
day and trying to stay awake and again, you know,
like I'm so excited about the next day and the
presence that we're gonna get And we would sit there
around the tree and we'd play games, you know, whether
(42:30):
it be cards or maybe a board game or something.
And it just having that tree lighting the whole room
and that feeling was my favorite Christmas memory.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Wow, that is so sweet. I love it. The kids, kids,
babies were on the ground the place.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Oh lord, stand those are three tornadoes live in my house,
three proper tornadoes.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Yes, your legacy, Yeah, leg right, Na. But of course
we're going to do something special for I love it.
I love it.
Speaker 5 (43:11):
What were you going to say, Shery, how many siblings
do you have? Heos, I have two brothers and two sisters.
Oh god, okay, yes, I.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
Am the middle and I in the middle. I am
the second youngest.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Nice Okay, does he give youngest energy a little bit.
Yes he does. I love it, y'all. Stick around, there's
more on the way, and get up morning.
Speaker 18 (43:56):
If you're listening to Good Morning, get people, Mary, Christmas Eve.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Everybody feel the jolly right, that's all we say. We
go hold on to the jolly this all day.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
Listen guys coming up eleven minutes after the Hour and
the Love Talk for Day later, Trending Topics with Cheryl
and the Quick Sports Minute with Shannie. Plus we got
music from Jermaine Dolly, Jordanne Armstrong, and Mariah Carey. Here's
Lisa those Smith's promises because God keeps his promises, saying.
Speaker 7 (44:30):
Let's talk about love for God, so love the world
love talking.
Speaker 5 (44:36):
Yes, it is time for the love Talk of the day,
and today I want to talk about love. That last
uh my husband, we started celebrating his fiftieth birthday by
going to one of his oldest aunt's birth house and
to watch her and my uncle Jimmy is just such
a beautiful thing.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
How they care for one another.
Speaker 5 (44:55):
And I've known them, you know, the whole time I've
been dating Warren and married to and they've just been
so consistent in how they love and care for one another.
Now I'm sure they're details that I don't know, but
from the outside looking in, it just looks amazing. As
they've both gone through health challenges and both felt with
different different things. To watch them care for one another
(45:18):
and the way they care for their daughter, Tammy is
just it's such an example of what a family can be.
See so many bad examples and we see, you know,
so many people talk about what went wrong and kids
who never come home and never take care of their
parents and things like that. But to have an example
so tangible right in front of me is just a
wonderful encouragement. So I pray that if you haven't seen it,
(45:39):
God allows you to see somebody whose family God is
held together. Not because they're perfect, but they chose to
love each other, not because they got it all right
and they want some love lottery and everything is great
in their life, but they chose to stick it out
and to fight for one another and to be with
one another. That's my prayer for all of us, you
know that we would experience love the way God designed it,
(46:02):
in the way God wants it to be, a lot
of conditions, a lot of variables.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
You know, when I say things like this.
Speaker 5 (46:07):
I'm sure there's many of you, Erica, you don't understand you, right,
none of us truly understand what.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
Listen, y'all know my story. My parents got married to.
Speaker 5 (46:14):
Each other three times, married and divorced, and married and divorced.
In the end of my father's life. You know what
he said, I kept coming back as I kept trying.
And that's really all that you can do. You can try,
you can push, you can pray, you can get good
people around you, you can have an accountability circle. You
can be more like Jesus, try to be more gracious
and forgiving. That's how you get to forever. So my
(46:36):
prayer is that we all have something kind of like
Auntie May and Uncle Jimmy. All right, y'all stick around.
That's my love. Talk of the day. Trending topics in
the Quick Sports Minute are up next to them. Get
Up Mornings.
Speaker 7 (46:55):
If you're listening to Get Up Mornings with Erica Camp,
Get Up Scot.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
Find out what everybody's talking about right now.
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Take it over the web. What is it?
Speaker 5 (47:06):
It's trending topics up to the minute. All right, here's
what's trending. Listen if you are getting last minute gifts.
We've listed twenty amazing Christmas gifts under one hundred dollars
on our website at giferica dot com. Let me tell
you some of the things that's on this list. I
love this candle set. So if you're listening and you
want to get sister Sheryl something nice, well, Victoria's Secrets
(47:27):
vaulted candle set is sixty dollars.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
That's under one hundred dollars.

fifty seven ninety seven, So these are the mid Jordans,

Also, this is a really good gift air tags, like
if you want to put air tags on your keys,
if you want to put air tags on your wallet
and your purse, your kids coats or backpacks or something
like that so you can monitor where they are. They're
under one hundred dollars and that is a good Christmas gift.
But we've listed a number of under one hundred dollars
(48:01):
that's kind of cute. And if you still look at
for the last minute gifts, you might want to check
out that list on get up erica dot com. Also,
I wanted to talk about some other ways that you
can give, do something nice and give back to the community.
Number one, donate and fundraise. You could do toy drives,
food drives, charitable gifts, or sponsor a family that you
(48:21):
believe is in need. You can volunteer your time too
for the holiday season, serve meals, visit seniors, don't forget
our seniors, Rap gifts for somebody, spread kindness in your community,
to do something nice for your neighbors, pay it forward,
pay somebody's bill that's in front of you. And if
you are a baker, those are great gifts to do
when people know that you've baked specifically for them. And
(48:44):
then incorporate your kids in giving back to the community
so they'll understand the principle of giving, because it really
is better to give than to receive. And then finally,
on trending topics, check out TV one today and tomorrow.
They're doing a marath On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,
they're doing a Christmas movie marathon. It kicked off this

Christmas Eve. Shawne, you're up next with a sports minute.

under the sound of my voice will show a level
of appreciation for the people that they have to be
around on a regular basis.

Sometimes it's family, sometimes it's worked, sometimes it's church. But
I pray that they have a good day today, that
they experience laughter and unity and togetherness and healthy communication. Lord,
even if they have to talk about difficult things. I
thank you that you will give them the good spirit
to go through things with the right heart and the
right mind.
