that our pictures. And the people already took a picture.
They don't care. They don't I don't care. They don't
hear you. Hey, listen, y'all coming up this hour, we
got the faith walk, the birthday shout outs, and eleven
(00:46):
minutes after the hour, Sybil Wilkes will give us the
five things we need to know. But first let us pray,
Lord Jesus, I thank you that you are good, you
are mighty, you are strong, you are powerful.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Father.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
First I ask that you forgive us, Lord Jesus, if
we've done wrong, knowingly or knowingly, Lord Jesus, forgive us. Lord.
You said we should repent daily, Lord Jesus, because you
know the possibility that will mess up is great. But Father,
you made a way for us to come back to you.
So we are coming back to you, to the feet
of Jesus. No matter how high we get, no matter
how much we do, we can always come back to
the feet of Jesus. So we are at your feet
(01:17):
asking that you bless us today. Cover us, keep us
in the central of your will and the palm of
your hand, keep us from all hurt, harm and danger. Lord,
will keep our eyes on you. We won't be distracted
by foolishness, Lord, foolish conversations, foolish people, foolish arguments, foolish issues. Father,
will keep our eyes on you. Live in purpose, on purpose,
thriving and striving to be better every day, to walk
(01:38):
in the divine abundance that you have available for us.
In Jesus Mighty name, we pray, Thank God. Amen, Amen, Hey, Amen,
All right, y'all. Great music on the way from Bishop
William Murphy, Casey j and Brent Jones. Here's bre Babin
No with confident on Get up morning, come you knowing
(02:03):
all right. Sybil's back with what we need to know today.
Good morning, Sybil.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
It's Sybil Wilkes with what we need to know The
race for New Jersey governor is tightening, with major national
figures jumping in. Former President Barack Obama endorsed Democrat Mikey Cheryl,
praising her integrity and grit and saying she'll cut costs
for families and keep communities safe. Meanwhile, President Trump reaffirmed
his support for Republican Jack Shatarelli, calling him a terrific
(02:29):
America First candidate who stands strong on immigration, American energy,
and the Second Amendment. The election will be held November fourth,
with early voting starting next Saturday. Analysts say the race
remains a toss up in a state where independents could
decide the outcome. Police in Oklahoma are investigating a shooting
(02:49):
at Oklahoma State University early Sunday morning. Authorities say multiple
people were wounded when gunfire erupted near a dorm after
a large off campus party. Victim is confirmed to be
a student. All injured were transported to hospitals in Oklahoma
City and Tulsa. The suspect fled before officers arrived, and
campus police locked down the area as they reviewed surveillance
(03:12):
video and interview witnesses. The US military carried out another
precision strike on a suspected drug trafficking vessel in the Caribbean.
Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the mission was ordered by President Trump.
Officials Save the vessel was linked to Columbia's National Liberation
Army and was tracked for several days along a known
(03:35):
NARCO route. Three suspects were killed in the strike, and
the incident marks the fifth anti trafficking operation in the
region this month, and the Mega Million stackpot, sitting at
a mass of six hundred and fifty million dollars, the
tenth largest in the game's history.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
The cash payout is just over three hundred MILI.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Lottery officials saved more than twenty million tickets have been
sold since Friday alone. Oh whatever you do, check your numbers.
I'm Sybil Wilkspan formed be Empowered.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Dame up Sports Minute.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Good morning. I'm SHAWNE.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Scott with your quick Sports Minute. Sunday was rough for Washington.
The Commanders went from bad to worse. In Dallas. They
fell behind early, then lost Pro Bowl quarterback Jaydon Daniels
to a hamstring injury. In the second half. The Cowboys,
powered by Red Hot CD lamb ran away with the
final score forty four and twenty two. Meanwhile, in Denver,
the Broncos almost blew a big comeback, but still snuck
(04:35):
out with a thirty three to thirty two win.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Over the Giants.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Roocky quarterback vow Nick scored the go ahead touchdown late,
but chaos followed, penalties, a near collapse, a coach Sean
Payton losing his pool and catching an unsportsman like flag. Still,
a win is a win in mile high and in baseball,
call it the Otani game. Shohy a Tani showed his
behind all right. It was on real Friday night. He pitched,
(05:03):
and he hit three home runs okay, ten strikeouts as
the Dodger swept the Brewers out of the NLCS. A
once in a lifetime player doing once in a lifetime things.
That's your quick sports minute. I'm Shannie Scott keeping you
in the game. Now Here Sheryl with the birthdays.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Thank you, Shannie. If you're celebrating your birthday, you're celebrating
today with actress Paula Kelly and Doja Cat also Caribbean
Afro artists today and Dizzy Gillespie and I've got some
special birthday shoutouts to my family members Nick Jackson, my nephew,
Alexis Brown, my niece, cousin Trina Savage, my good friend
Tonia Loney, and designer Sean Cook. And if it's your birthday,
(05:44):
well you get a chance to shout it out. Coming
up in fifteen minutes on the birthday, shoutout. So get
up Mornings with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
If you're listening to get up Erica Campbell right now,
am faith walk.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day.
And listen. I'm still blessed by the message that happened
to Kellie Worship on Sunday, So listen. This was the
story that he told that he was in school and
not good at math right, hated math.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Right.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
He said, that's why I went to seminary because I
knew the only numbers I would have to deal with
is the Book of Numbers, because I don't He just
wasn't good at math. And he said he would look
at the book and just be kind of discombobulated and
couldn't figure it out. He said, one day the book
fell and opened to the back of the book. Well,
if you went to school, you know in the back
of the book the answers are back there, and so
(06:43):
he said, he went from this terrible student in math
to get in straight a's because he would just go
to the answers at the back of the book. So
one day the teacher called him to the front. And
when she called him to the front, you know, he
was just hello, you are such a good teacher. And
she was celebrating him on getting the good grades, and
you know, his little sarcastic behind said, well, I'm getting
(07:03):
good grades because you're such a good teacher, so you
don't need to thank me. You need to thank you
for doing such.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
A good job.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
And that's why my grades have changed. It I'm getting
all these great grades. And she said, yeah, I'm having
a problem though. I want you to show your work.
He said immediately his chest got tight because he didn't
know the work. He just knew the answers. Sometimes the
important part of the question is how you get to
the answer, not just the answer. Sometimes God wants to
(07:31):
see your work. How do you work through before I
answer this? What is your heart posture? What are you thinking?
What are you feeling? Are you praising me through the circumstances?
Are you kicking and fussing? All the way through. Are
you complaining and telling everybody how you don't deserve this,
or are you learning the tools to work out the
problem that gets you to the answer. If you get
the answer and you don't know how you got there,
(07:53):
then you're going to struggle with getting the answer. You
may get it, but you may have to do the
test again because you missed the process. Life is all
about the process, right. You can want a baby all
you want, but you got them nine months and you
don't know what's gonna happen, and the baby's gonna move,
and you're gonna feel uncomfortable and you're not gonna be
able to lay on a certain side because the blood
(08:13):
flow in your body. You can't bypass all of that
and just get to the baby. You have to go
through the process, and a lot off. You want the ministry,
but you don't want the process. You want the marriage,
but you don't want the process. You want to raise
good kids, but you don't want the process. The teaching,
the lessons, the learning, the correction and the celebration and
(08:33):
all the things that go with it. You can't avoid
the process. Listen, a lot of my gospel artist friends
want to get to number one, but they don't want
to do the work that it takes to get there,
the work that goes beyond just the song. Yes it's
the song, but it's a whole lot of other stuff
that comes with the work. Learn to do the work.
The work is where the blessing is. The work is
where the lesson is. The work is where you learn
(08:55):
a lot about yourself. The process is where you really
learn to grow. So listen. You can get the answers,
you can get it the chief way, but that process
is where you really become the best version of yourself.
So don't bypass the process. All right? That is my
faith walk for the day. I love you and I
meet it all right, good people. Birthday shout out time

(14:36):
and we'll cap things off with the Joys and Concerns
from Brother Grief. Bright agree say like that, right, I Grief.
I'm sure somebody says that in some country That's how
they said. We're listening to your music from Lisa Knows Smith,
Kirk Franklin and James Fortune. Here's my song Trust and
Obey and get.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Up morning you love.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
All right, it's the five things we need to know.
Our guest is in studio. Our sister friends, Sibil will hey,
their Sibil.
Speaker 11 (15:11):
Good morning, my friend holding everything steady and straight as always, Cheryl.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Absolutely, we're excited to be here though. Man, great news today,
but let's start with the bad news first. And the
newsletter you report how millions Americans are at risk of
losing their food stamps next month. And on top of that,
you know, we have this government shut down. Talk a
little bit about that, Sybil.
Speaker 11 (15:33):
And as a result of this, about forty two million
Americans are at risk of losing their food assistance next
month due to the ongoing federal government shutdowns. The Agriculture
Secretary had the SNAP program, which helps one in eight Americans.
Imagine that one of every eight Americans who buy food
(15:54):
will run out of funds in two weeks. She warns
the millions of vulnerable families who can go hungry without
immediate action from the Trump administration. And this is really important,
especially as we already know that it's not just the
people who are receiving government benefits, that those who have
worked for the government and are not getting paid right now,
(16:14):
and so those food pantries and other areas are really
becoming very lean. The shelves are emptying out, and so
let us remember that as we are those of us
who are able to make the donations for the food
pantries to help those in needs.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Absolutely, absolutely, all right, here's the good news. My son
called last week. It was like, Mom, did you pay
my student loan? And I didn't. The Trump administration canceled
student loan debts for millions, is what you're saying in
the newsletter. Talk about that.
Speaker 11 (16:45):
Yeah, this came out this week that the Trump administration
has agreed to cancel student loan debts for eligible borrower's
following a legal settlement with the American Federation of Teachers.
That's the union there, And that's a big move in
terms of of the Trump administration working with union groups.
It's a major policy shift after earlier restrictions on federal
(17:07):
income driven repayment programs. The movie is expected to bring
long awaited financial relief to up to two and a
half million Americans, of which Cheryl's son is one who
spent decades is saying federal student loans and they should
be getting those letters in the mail of this month
as well.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Wow, that is so absolutely good. Now here's our good
news story because I love, love, love Debbie Allen and
she gets her powers because she's got a Barbie. I
saw this awesomeute.
Speaker 11 (17:37):
Yeah, the wonderful Debbie Allen, who is multi mult multi,
multi hyphen it, hyphen it everything in Hollywood, has been
honored with our very own Barbie doll as part of
the Mattel Tribute collection and that celebrates the trailblazing cultural icons.
The legendary dancer, choreographer, director, and the actors shared her
(17:58):
excitement on Instagram and talking about her journey from Houston
to Hollywood, she says, and now see a Barbie that
reflects my journey, my joy and my dreams. May every
child see themselves and know they can be anything. That's powerful,
and it's powerful that we acknowledge her every opportunity we get.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
That's so good. Listen, we're talking with Sybil Wilkes. Go

the news regarding us. So you can also follow her

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Simple.
Speaker 15 (18:39):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
We appreciate you all this good news and well all
the news not really good.
Speaker 11 (18:44):
Thank you, my friends. You continue to keep thinks going
and you're doing a great job.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Thank you. Simple. All right, guys, coming up in just
a few moments. Of course, it's the Ericaism and the
joys and concerns we got you on Get Up Mornings
with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
If you're listening to Get Up with Erica Campbo, real
thoughts to Ericaism.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Of the day on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
So listen. When me and Tina first got signed to
Columbia Records back in nineteen ninety eight with a single
coming out in ninety nine which was a Dance Dance
Dance on a soundtrack, and then later Shackles coming out
in two thousand. When we were putting the album together,
there was a huge, massive team. Now this was a
(19:39):
different season in music business. This was when they would
give you a million dollar deals or six like the
Just for an example, the Shackles video cost six hundred
thousand dollars to make. We were on the paramount lot.
It was two day shoot. It was a lot going on,
which meant it was other opinions and other people in
the process that helped us make the decisions. If me
(20:03):
and Tina had have been so addicted to what we
wanted and I'm a stand my ground and you can't
tell me what to do and this is my artistry, Mary, Mary,
never would have happened. We did that in collaboration with
other people. And that's what I want to talk about. Collaboration,
The power of collaboration, the power of the way you
think and the way they think, coming together to make
(20:24):
a bigger movement, a bigger thing whatever. That is a
lot of times in our lives and our families and
our churches and our businesses, we are so obsessed with
ourselves we don't know the benefit and beauty of collaboration.
I've had multiple managers, I've had agents, I've had and
there are different types of agents. There are booking agents
(20:45):
just for the concerts and that there's booking agents that
are for TV TV and film. Those are different agents.
And then there's different agents for speaking and different agents
for say the beauty industry. So if you wanted to
be if you wanted to do something with you know,
Laurale or Mabeline or something like that, those are all
different people. If I had to do everything, there is
(21:06):
no way I would be where I am today. It
takes collaboration, It takes working with other people, even in
the songwriting process. So me, Tina and Warren mostly all
of our songs are written by us, but there have
been times when me and Tina will write something and
we'll bring it to Warren and he won't like it,
or Tina will write something and I won't like it,
or vice versa. We have always been open with each
(21:28):
other to be able to be honest about what we
like and don't like, so we get the best product,
We get the best thing, and we don't leave our
feelings in the way. Listen, there's been whole times me
and Tina wrote and demo the song, or Warren heard
and he was like, this ain't hot, it's not it,
and we just go back to the drawing board. We
wouldn't get into a fight about you don't know, and
this song's dope. You just hate knowing us. You're trying
(21:49):
to hold us back like that. It's so dangerous when
you don't know how to work in collaboration with other people.
And it happens a lot. It happens at weddings, it
happens in ministry. And I believe that the enemy manipulates
people's minds to think that if someone has a suggestion,
it implies that you didn't do something right, or you
didn't do something good, or that you're not enough by yourself.
I think we are always better together. I think collaboration
(22:11):
is a beautiful thing when you know how to do
it and get your feelings out of the way. You
can't have the spirit of offense. Or if you felt
rejected growing up every time somebody says something don't work,
then you gotta lose your mind. That's not healthy and
you never get to greatness. I always talk about Jesus
and the disciples. He was fully divined, he was fully
the son of God. He could have done it all
by himself. Still he rocked with twelve dudes and someone
(22:33):
was raggedy. So collaboration is a good thing. Having people
around you having somebody to bounce an idea off is
a good thing. I know. There are some creatives. You
sit in your bubble by yourself and you don't want
nobody to tell you nothing. You edit, you shoot, you cut,
you did artists. You gotta promote it, and that's why
you stressed because you're trying to do it all by yourself.
Collaboration is a good thing. That is my erchaism for
(22:56):
the day. I love you and I mean it. Learn
to take the help, Learn to ask for help. Stop
struggling by yourself because your ego says you don't want
to ask nobody for nothing. That's all pride and ego. Yes,
my friend, it's pride and ego. I don't need nobody.
Yes you do. I could do this by myself. But
is it gonna be the absolute best when you do
it by yourself, Especially if the only bragging point is
(23:17):
I did it by myself. Does that make it better?
Not necessarily. Collaboration is a good things. Get up mornings.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
If you're listening to get up, let the church say
Amen the time for joys and concerns.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Well, I'll say to the Most High God, we are
coming to you. Live from the get up Church of
Our Lord BAPTI Costa, not the nominational denominational A n
ME C me E, n G lment o p at
Postelan Church of God in Christ. All right, brother gift
flok the Lord E thank you very lady pastor.
Speaker 16 (24:04):
That was good.
Speaker 17 (24:05):
Oh, had the spirit of praise in DC. They was
running up on me saying that, say thank you, Grandpa.
I was like, what say thank you? I said, thank you,
You're welcome sucking me in.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
I ain't even know what they was talking about.
Speaker 14 (24:20):
First giving out of the God who's head of my life.
I'd like to say, I'm glass be in the house
of the Lord or one more time, Elder Chiryl, because
he brought me from a mighty, mighty long way every good.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
I could have been dead sleeping in the grave.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
But God, it is good all the time, all the time. God.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yes, yes, thanks gentlemen.
Speaker 14 (24:45):
I know what y'all gonna say, but I just need
to say this anyway. Black people go on cruises, go
on cruise, and there's one black person on our show
right now who quiet ain't saying nothing because she ain't
getting on one just because you scare the war and
don't swim, y'all. I'm still going to cruise. Go on
a cruise flight and don't go don't go jump it.
(25:07):
I tell the people the same thing. If you've never
been on a flight before, you don't want to catch a.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Flight to Africa.
Speaker 14 (25:15):
If you want to do Charlotte and Riley, catch you
a fifty minute here, hour ten there. You gotta do
some of those. But I'm not saying get on a
ten day cruise. But they got weekend ones, they got
three day ones. Are great, But griff, I can't swim.
Half the people on a cruise can't swim. Ain't nobody
gonna swim it. My mama say the same thing. I
(25:36):
can't drink all that water. I ain't going out there.
It ain't about imagine a mall. Just imagine the mall,
and then if you walked outside, it was water everywhere.
That's that's how big and how safe. A lot of
people mistakenly say the boat instead of the ship, and
in your mind you thinking of a rowboat or where
(25:58):
Jesus walked and asked them to come. Man, it's a giant,
giant place and you will have fun. I'm trying to
help somebody right now.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
You have fun.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Now you still need a passport to get on a cruise.
So I'm just now. Is somebody in the car saying,
I don't care what grips say. I'm with Ryl.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
I ain't going on a cruise.
Speaker 14 (26:19):
You get to say any if somebody else saying, grip
I'm going on my first one?
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Good you can say any al.
Speaker 14 (26:25):
Right, But if you like me and arrogant and you
know it is so much fun.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
You get.
Speaker 14 (26:34):
Right.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Look at Chryl.
Speaker 14 (26:36):
Did I sell you?
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Eryl?
Speaker 2 (26:38):
So I'd like to get to my destination and just
enjoy the destination. I want to be getting off and
getting on getting off.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I don't even know what it's like.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
You don't know what it's like, though, I'm gonna try it.
I caness my short. We'll do a short one, okay, Dwight,

serve the father who's got a cattle on a thousand heels.
You can ask him for whatever you won't how about that?

His message, your mind is like a garden. Music from
(27:58):
Yolanda Adams, Tasha Cobbs in It and Mary Mary. Here's
Javonte Patton with your name on Get Up Morning.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Get Up Morning, Get Up Morning, Fuck.
Speaker 14 (28:09):
Them just Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell and joining
us today is a Grammy Award winning artist, Stellar Award
Doves and the Hommy Hommy of the show, Ty Trivit Tie.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
I like your intro, Bro, But good man.
Speaker 14 (28:25):
You you you're doing so much.
Speaker 18 (28:28):
Man.
Speaker 14 (28:28):
Let's let's just take it one at a time. Number one,
you got a brand new single, all right.
Speaker 9 (28:33):
The new single is called only You Religious, Holy You Religious?
What is religious?
Speaker 2 (28:41):
What is holy you?
Speaker 9 (28:42):
You gotta check out the song.
Speaker 14 (28:44):
Ty Trivi's new song right here on Get Up Mornings
with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell, World World.
Speaker 14 (29:04):
Man's I you know you.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
We had to do something different now.
Speaker 9 (29:10):
I hope y'all like that one.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
No, we love it because we love you. How many
it only go with you?
Speaker 2 (29:15):
It would be weird.
Speaker 14 (29:15):
It would be like if you just stood in the
middle on stage and just saying rite flat blood on
that right, and.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
You know that's never happened.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
That's never happened. Now, explain the whole movement.
Speaker 9 (29:28):
I got you, man, religious I was. I started preaching
it at my church. I did a whole sermon series
on freligious a couple of years ago at Live Church.
It's basically freedom from religious abuse, from spiritual abuse, from culture,
from family. So it's freedom from these things identity in Christ.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Alone, and then He places you.
Speaker 9 (29:51):
And affiliates you with these different things, because so many
times we just identify ourselves by what we're associated with
that we're not even locked in with our identity with God.
So let's get freedom from what religion told us, freedom
from what culture told us, freedom from what family told us.
Let's see what God calls us, and then he'll place
us back into those areas secure in him religions. That's
(30:12):
the new religion.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
That's good.
Speaker 14 (30:14):
And then you also launched the anti bullying dot com campaign.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Now why you are all for bullying?
Speaker 9 (30:21):
I got bullied so bad growing up, Broll It's you funny.
I was the churchy buck to black skinny church boy,
and I bullied so much. You know what I'm saying.
Everybody just was laughing. I was just always different. I
was always weird to people. And so I understand what
that does psychologically the kids that age. I understand being embarrassed.
(30:41):
I understand trying to find new ways to hold my mouth,
you know what, I mean, to cover my teeth for
the substitute teacher and the kids laughing at me, and
we got a new student and what they're gonna think
of myrt I know what that does the kids psychologically.
But I also know that if you got a great foundation,
if you got a good community at home, that you
got identity. I do know the answers to those feelings.
(31:02):
And I also know what the bullies are thinking.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 9 (31:06):
They may be jealous, they may be envious. They they
don't understand. Yes, and you feel me. So we want
to bring lights to that so we can stop that
bullion and even cyber bullyon and people all lie. It's
so much going on, bro that insights and increases the spears.
So we want to just come against that with our campaign. Man,
(31:26):
I'm hype about it.
Speaker 14 (31:27):
Last thing that we outside, tor you, Pastor, Mike Todd,
Kiera sheer Man, how crunk is that?
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Let me do an old school.
Speaker 14 (31:37):
Is that.
Speaker 9 (31:41):
We outside again, that's a culturally irrelevant term. Everybody like, yeah,
we outside, but our point, our point is the real
church is not in the four walls only.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
The real church is outside.
Speaker 9 (31:54):
We outside, love and forgiving, serving, doing all that stuff.
So Mike Todd is like, Ben, I'm down, bring up
my worst of team. Kire like Bet, I'm damn. I
got a couple surprises on a tour too.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
It's a tour of the fall.
Speaker 9 (32:07):
We need this, man. We've been through so much this year,
and I'm telling you we're intentional about encouraging in the
strength of the people as they end their years strong.
But as y'all also know, the worship, I can't wait.

can't wait. So it's gonna be exciting, man, so y'all
get y'all tickets and come on out.
Speaker 14 (32:27):
We outside. We appreciate you always coming on the show,
always doing big things for the kingdom. I just have
to tell you, man, that only one night though I know,

Speaker 18 (33:30):
Today's steph for success has taken from my book It
only takes a minute to change your life. To become
a success in life, you must be careful what you
allow to be planted in your mind, because your mind
will grow whatever it's planted. It is like a garden.
If you plant positive, it will grow positive. But if
you plant negative, your mind will grow negative. If you
(33:51):
plant good thoughts, it will grow. If you plant poison thoughts,
they too will grow. That is why you must be
careful what you allow to be planted in your mind,
because it will grow as you sow, so shall you reap.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Think about nothing? You tend to do nothing.
Speaker 18 (34:05):
Think about great things, and you tend to do greater
things than you could believe. Be careful what you allow
in your mind, because if you allow it to be planted,
it will grow. This is doctor Willie Jolly. Share this

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Good morning, Good morning, It's get up Morning's. I'm America Campbell,
loving Jesus and loving you. On the surrific Tuesday, October
twenty first coming up eleven minutes after the hour, I'll
have my love Talk of the day, and Chery will
give us the trending topics, and Griff will have the
quick sports minute. Hey, Cheryl, are you preaching this weekend?
I'm not preaching this weekend, but I am on the
twenty six. That's my next day. That's my won no man, Yeah,
(42:32):
preach the wire. Yes, come on, y'all, listen, way we
got it be this weekend. That's this weekend.
Speaker 14 (42:41):
You ain't ready, ready, god.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Wife girl, I love it. Let's get to this good
guy for music here see see wide as will come Jesus,
Come on, get up morning.
Speaker 1 (42:55):
I so love the world love talk, Get up morning.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
Well the people at a time for the love talk
of the day. And this is a very popular movie
that I'm sure many of us have seen, and that
is Harlem Nights. I'm not sure if you remember the
scene where Dela Reese and Eddie Murphy were in the
kitchen and they was fussing about something. I think it
was orange juice or something nor something that she he
said to her, and they ended up going outside and
(43:20):
getting in the tussle, right, and so he shot her
into pinky toe, y'all know, y'all member saying he shot
up in the pinky.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
Toe, right.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
And then later on in the movie you see her saying,
I love that old boy, right. And I want to
talk about that sentiment when somebody when you get into
it in a big way with somebody that you love.
Here's the I think the part that makes people so
upset is because you mad at him, but you still
love him. How does love work that way? Because love
(43:50):
doesn't change its mind just because you were offended, right,
Not when you really really love him. I'm talking about
parents and children and spouses and siblings and things like that.
I have a million siblings and we have been mad, mad,
mad mad at each other. But if somebody else hurts them,
then I got a problem with it. And you know,
(44:10):
it's always beautiful to me when someone's upset with you
but they still take care of you. It's like that
meme that you see where the husband and wife. You
can tell they're old and they fussing, but he's still
holding the umbrella over her head because it is raining.
And so sometimes even though the person that you love
you've gotten into a disagreement or had an issue, you
still have a responsibility to love them. This is not
(44:32):
the time to get me. The Bible says love covers
a multitude of faults. One version says sins, and so
if the love that you have ain't that kind of love,
then it has God to give you a deeper love,
especially if you actually say they're people that you love.
You can't keep your love on a leash like you
may be mad, I don't love you no more. You
did this, I don't love you no more. That ain't love.
That's something else. I don't even know what to call it.
(44:53):
But the love that I've seen, the love that I
grew up with, it endures and it sticks around it
and it it may fuss a little bit, it'll still
give you a hug. It may it may be angry
with you, but it'll still be there for you. There's
people that get on my nerves, but I've known on
my whole life. And it's something happened, i'd stop, drop
and run. I know that sounds crazy, but it literally is.
(45:15):
We don't talk all the time, I don't see them
all the time. The last time we was together, they
got on my last nerve. But if something happens, I'm
gonna stop, drop and run and make sure they're okay.
Because that's kind of what love does. That's how it
works for me, and I pray there it works for
you that way as well, because it really does heal,
It really does hold you together in difficult times. I
told somebody, and I think I told y'all here at
(45:36):
the Get Up Church. Love is built for the difficult times.
I think the most difficult time that we saw love
be there for is the Cross. Jesus went to the
cross because he loved us and he knew there was
no way that we would meet the standard that was
required to get into heaven, and so he made a
way for us. He redeemed us. That's what love does.
Love redeems, love restores, love holds on. Love is there
(45:58):
even when you got to cry. What love is there?
Even when you say you make me sick? But I
love it. That's the kind of love I want you
to have. All right. That's my love talk for the day.
Ladies and gentlemen. I love you and I mean it.
Stick around. We've got the trending topics up next. Don't
get up morning.
Speaker 5 (46:22):
If you're listening to Get up Erica Kimp, Get up morning.
Find out what everybody's talking about right now.
Speaker 15 (46:30):
Take it over the web. What is it? It's trending
topics up to the minute. All right, family, here's what's trending.
There's so much controversy in the land right now. So
Maverick City is facing another lawsuit. We talked about Chandler
Moore who left Maverick City, also Naomi Rain. Some of
(46:51):
the most prolific writers from Maverick City and performers and
artists left Maverick City right, and Chandler has been public
about suing them well. Co founder of Maverick City, Tony Brown,
has hit the Grammy winning worship collective with racketeering claims
over a buyout agreement, which he says was the product
(47:12):
of threats and coercion by the group's CEO and brother
of the nineties hip hop star mc Hammer. Now the
allegations come on the heels of this bombshell fraud lawsuit
brought about against Maverick City from former member Chandler Moore,
who claims CEO Norman Gamfi orchestrated secret deals and forged
(47:34):
Moore's signature to steal millions of dollars worth of publishing royalties. Now,
Brown and his ex wife, Rebecca Aversano have been pursuing
their own lawsuit against the Atlanta based group since twenty
twenty four over buyout payments. Now the duo is now
adding new civil claims that accuses Maverick City of violating
George's racketeering influenced and corruption organization at the RICO and
(48:00):
organized crime law typically deployed in gang persecutions. Now, Brown
and Oversario claims that Gamfi coursed Brown into signing an
unfavorable buyout deal in twenty twenty three with the help
of Louis Burrell, a music industry veteran and the brother
of mc hammer Now. According to the court filings, Barrell
threatened to launch a characteristic assassination and bury Brown's family
(48:24):
in debt unless Gamfe, unless Gamfee's preferred terms were agreed to.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
This is crazy. We're going to continue to follow it
because it doesn't belong in the Kingdom, all right. Another
prominent legend under fire, Pastor Marvin Winans, is under fire
after scolding a church member for the amount of money
she gave. The bizarre moment, captured on video, happened at
Detroit's Perfecting Church during their day of giving. Winans was
(48:51):
outraged when a woman came up short of the donation
he asked for. Now, according to new sources, now a
new video has come out with regards to Bishop Marvin
giving specific instructions on how he wanted to receive the offering. Right, So,
he talked about when you come up, we're gonna call
for this line first and this line second. So apparently
(49:13):
this woman was in the wrong line and that's why
he was scolding her, not specifically because of the amount
of money that he was given. But of course mainstream
media is twisting it like it's another money grab. No,
you gotta know church culture. Family, you gotta know church culture.
All right, guys, we talked to ty Tribute today. We
did an exclusive of his a new record which is
(49:36):
so dope. It's called Freeligion, and he debuted it here
on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell. Of course, you
could check out the full interview. We're going to post
it on our website at Get Up Erica dot com.

you out and command you to go out of every
area of our over our lives. Cover our homes and
our families, Cover our churches, and our city and our nation.
Cover us, Lord, keep us safe from all hurt, harm
and danger. Lord, we bind the power and presence of
evil that is trying to dominate. We take authority over
this presence in the name of Jesus. Cover us Lord,
(54:01):
Keep us Lord, and then give us strength to stand,
strength to pray, and strength to fight in Jesus' name,
Thank God. Amen, Amen, Amen. All right, y'all, we'll see
