Good morning, sybyl.
Speaker 6 (01:58):
It's Sybil Wilks with what we need to know. Evan Turnage,
a thirty three year old Yale educated attorney from Jackson, Mississippi,
is launching a Democratic primary challenge against longtime US Congressman
Benny Thompson. He's represented Mississippi's second congressional district since nineteen
ninety three. Mister Turnich previously served as a top eight
(02:21):
to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Elizabeth Warren
of Massachusetts, and he's positioning himself as a generational alternative.
He says his campaign will focus on affordability, economic power,
and a come home agenda aimed at reversing Mississippi's brain drain.
A judge overturned the conviction of one of two men
(02:43):
found guilty in the two thousand and two killing of
run dmc legend jem Master j, ruling there was insufficient
evidence to prove motive, while upholding the other conviction. This
decision is a major twist in a case that went
unsolved for nearly twenty years before arrests were made in
twenty twenty and convictions secured in twenty twenty four. GMSTERJ
(03:06):
born Jason Mizell was a pioneering hip hop figure whose
two thousand and two murders shocked the music world and
followed the high profile killings.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Of Tupac Shakor and the notorious Big.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced a multi state settlement
with Hyundai and Kia over the sale of millions of
vehicles lacking standard anti theft technology, which contributed to widespread
car thefs nationwide. Under this agreement, the automakers will meet
industry security standards going forward and provide free upgrades for
(03:41):
effective vehicles. Hyundai Akia will also pay up to four

Venos is Pittsburgh Steelers. Well, they won against Miami twenty
eight to fifteen.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
That wide receiver DK Metcleth, well, he is under review
because he got into it with a fan during Sunday
nights football game in Detroit.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Looks like he put hands on him. They say you
pushed him.
Speaker 8 (04:28):
No flag was throng, the fan was able to stay
in the game, and the NFL is hey, they reviewing
the incident to see what it's gonna be. Also, my
Dallas Cowboys fell to the Los Angeles Chargers twenty two
to sixteen. But that's okay cause Cherls Washington Commanders lost
to to the Eagles twenty nine to eighteen. And you
(04:49):
know the Cowboys and the commanders are meeting up a
Christmas day, So Merry Christmas to me. We don't see
how that one turns out. That's your quick sports minute.

(05:23):
fifteen minutes on the birthday shoutouts on Get Up Mornings
with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 7 (05:37):
If you're listening to Get Up with Erica Campbo.
Speaker 9 (05:41):
Faith walk right now, hey man, faith walk.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day,
and y'all listen. I'll be honest. When I was in school,
I was not the best student. I wasn't the worst,
it wasn't the best. I was somewhere in the middle.
I did not like test tests, make nervous.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Sometimes I would do good, I would know the information,
but I would question myself. And tests always allow you
to find out if you know the information that they've
been teaching you over the course of the class. Right,
Tests show you if you were really paying attention. It
lets you know what you know.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
And so when we're test in life, why is it
that we always think a test is punishment? Why is
it that we always think tests is because you've done
something wrong?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
And people even ask that will you going through this girl?
Speaker 10 (06:31):
What you do?
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Test show us spiritually where our strength is. Test spiritually
show us how much of the word we actually know
and actually believe, because you don't know you believe it
until you get in the position for it to be tested.
Like when people say, you know, I'm just peaceful and
you know, I don't like chaos, and then crazy things
go on and go on in their life and they
lose all their peace. If you have peace, peace is
(06:54):
not determined by what's on the outside. It's a reflection
of what's on the inside. And so I want you
to look at tests in your life a little bit differently.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
What is it showing me? What am I learning?
Speaker 2 (07:04):
How do I need to find out something that's gonna
help me handle this test that I'm going through. But
by all means, don't fall apart in the test, don't
lose it in the test. Don't be so overwhelmed that
you can't pass the test. Don't realize that there is
help for the test.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
The cheat code. You got your Bible, that's the whole
cheat code right there. How do I overcome this? How
do I look at this? How do I face this?
What do I need to say to this test? How
do I need to speak life while I'm walking through
this test?
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Because I know if you promise victory or healing or
provision or restoration or all the amazing things that God
has promised us, and this test is the opposite of that.
This can't be the final. Say the test is not
the final. Say it's just a test. And so I
want you to go through tests differently. First follow the
cheat code. Then speak what God says over the test,
and what is in you will truly come out. My
(07:48):
mom would say that all the time. Well, if it
wasn't in you, it wouldn't have come out. You walk
around that house and somebody hear they toe and say
a bad word she said, if it wasn't in you,
it wouldn't come out. What is in you will come
out when you're tested. The word is in you, the
world will come out. If anger is in you, that's
will come up. What will come out.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Even in the TV.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Show world they will say, oh, the reality shows they
make you do dot dot dot.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Nah. If it wasn't in you, it would not come
out of you.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
That's why certain people don't stick around, because they don't
have that level of pettiness inside of them.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
It's like, yeah, this don't really work for me. This
is not in me.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
If it's in you, that's what's coming out, and the
test will show it. A test usually precedes promotion or elevation,
So let's make sure we learn how to test well.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
That's the faith walk for the day. Ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (08:33):

This is Jim Drops with a Terisar Whickfield, brought to
you by the Dear Future WiFi podcast. On Jim Drops,
I cut relationship troops with precision and give you clarity
in under sixty seconds. Today's Jim Real. Love expands you.
It doesn't erase you. Stop calling it love if it
keeps making you feel small. Love doesn't silence your voice,
(15:58):
get amplifies it. It doesn't require you to shrink just
to fit in their life. It makes space for your growth.
Some of y'all are stuck in connections that feel more
like compression than companionship. You used to dream out loud,
you used to laugh with your whole chest. Now you're
walking on eggshells, trying not to trigger their insecurity. That's
not love, that's self abandonment. Real love expands you. If
(16:23):
partners with your calling, not your conformity. If being with
them is costing you you, then the bill is overdue.
Now let me see you shine.
Speaker 7 (16:33):
There you go. Don't stop on one gym, grab the whole.
Speaker 21 (16:37):
Treasure chests on the Dear Future Wifey podcast available everywhere,

Speaker 7 (16:45):
Ericas of the Day on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell, my.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Friend, pastor Gerald Hadden, who has been an empty for Mary,
Mary and Erica Campbell for.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
The last I can't even tell you how long he's
been with us. So long, he's pastoring in Atlanta. Breathe
atl Well.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
He preached at Cali Worship and the message was Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
He spoke from Deuteronomy thirty and nineteen.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
I call Heaven and Earth as witnesses today against you
that I have set before you life and death, blessing
and cursing. Therefore, choose life that both you and your
descendants may live. He talked about how choices can change
your decision. He talked about the decision in the garden
(17:32):
of Gsseimine.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
He talked about how sometimes this one decision can change
your life, can change.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
The trajectory trajectory of your life.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
He talked about a lot of times we say the
devil is busy, but actually the devil junior is busy,
and that's you. Because sometimes we make the decisions that
mess up our lives. We make the decisions that mess
up our finances, we make the decisions that mess up
our health, and then we want God to fix it.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
He said, you make the choice and you do the work.
Yes God is with you, and yes God will bless you.
But some of these decisions that you're making is because
you reap what you sew.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
You don't reap what you want. You reap what you choose.
I thought that was so powerful.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
He gave us so many nuggets and so many tools,
and he said, wanting better doesn't bring better, Choosing better
brings better. So make choices with tomorrow in mind, chase,
make choices with your legacy in mind, Chake, make choices
with your future in life in mind. It was just really,
really a powerful message. Him and his wife my friend Tammy,
(18:33):
were there for the for both services and It just
really really made everybody kind of reevaluate. Here's when you
know a message is good when all the young people
after service are talking about it.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
That's when you know the message is powerful when you
hear everybody at the chatter after church. Man, I gotta
make some man, I gotta do some different stuff. Man,
I gotta make some different choices.
Speaker 11 (18:55):
Right.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
I can't blame nobody. This is my life.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
When I stand before God, I have to give account
of my choices. I can't blame my parents. I can't
blame the people that did me wrong, the people that
broke my heart and broke my spirit. I have to
choose to forgive, and I have to choose to be better.
I have to choose to accept the healing that God
has for me. I have to choose to take accountable
for what I'm going to do with my heart. My
(19:18):
heart was never their responsibility in the first place. Your
heart is your responsibility. So get in the presence of
God and choose to make time for prayer. Choose to
make time for the word. And then after you make
time for the word, do the work. He also talked
about how the people who have been in church their
whole life every prayer meeting, every service they save, but
(19:40):
their regular life is all out of whack because my
faith only works in church. Your faith should extend to
how you handle business.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Your faith should extend to how you handle people, how
you handle your job.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Are you on time?
Speaker 5 (19:52):
Do you pay your bills? Do you have integrity? All
these things are literally choices. So choose well, choose wisely.
Message bless me so much?
Speaker 4 (20:01):
All right, good people?
Speaker 5 (20:02):
That is the ericaism for the day. I'm gonna choose
to work out today. I'm gonna choose to eat the
right thing today. I'm gonna choose to make some phone
calls to people that I say I love, but you know,
like get busy, and instead of saying I love you
so much and I'm gonna make time for.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
You, you tell them you're busy. We all busy. Make
time to love the people that you love.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
That's a choice. That's a choice. To call your family members.
Sometimes it's your grandma.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Call your grandma.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
What's the last time you talk to your Grandma's Get
up mornings, y'all stick around, joys and concerns up next.
Speaker 13 (20:40):
If you're listening to get up the church, say amen,
the time for concerns.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Well, I'm saying to the Most High God, we are
coming to you lying from the get up Church of
our Lord, not the Constantine denominational denomination on a and
me seeing me he in g elemento p at, I
saw the Church of God in Christ.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
All right, brother great looking on Hugh, thank you, Queen magistrate,
what my God?
Speaker 19 (21:16):
First?
Speaker 12 (21:17):
Giving honor to God who's ahead of my life. I
like to say I'm the last to be in the
hours of the Lord one more time, elder girl, because
he brought me from a mighty, mighty long way.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Sister of tz I could have been dead.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
She's living in the grave. But God is good all
the time, all the time.
Speaker 10 (21:38):
God.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yes, yes, uh.
Speaker 7 (21:42):
Man, y'all, let me tell you.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
I gotta fix my face.
Speaker 7 (21:45):
I'll say this.
Speaker 12 (21:46):
So oh, I was listening in the pastor currently sermon
this morning from yesterday, and Pastor was, I don't know.
I'm not gonna say you was half listening, pastor, because
you are a whole pastor, but uh, you were telling
the congregation that I was saying, I don't dance because
you don't dance. And then he went on to say,
I got nice moves, Griff, you on no No. I
(22:08):
was saying, I don't shout. I don't shout because you
don't shout. That's that's what I was, man, that's a curtain.
You be real proud of me. On Thursday night, I
had an encounter, that's what That's what Anika and Rodz
called a counter with the Lord.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
They were there.
Speaker 12 (22:29):
I don't remember much. I remember I kind of I
don't know. I was trying to figure out which one
of them was gonna catch me if I fail.
Speaker 7 (22:37):
And they both was like, we was gonna leave you.
And where you was at?
Speaker 12 (22:41):
I said, I had a real like I had a
proper put a cover on me at church in the
front of the steps.
Speaker 7 (22:47):
Encounter at the house.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
And I'm so grateful and thankful that God still hear
me and love me personally. That's what I counted.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Come on, somebody in the guard saying, encounter. Grip what happened?
Speaker 4 (23:03):
I caught the Holy Ghost? That's what I made.
Speaker 12 (23:05):
You could say, rot it somebody, I caught it. They
was thrown They was thrown out, Holy ghost. Somebody else
saying faster, keurnie, don't shout. Ever you get to say
he alright, but if you like me and you know
I was closer to the Lord than I ever was
this year.
Speaker 7 (23:22):
On Thursday night, I get to eighty.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Come on, Cheryl, I'll be trying not to laugh when
people say I caught.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
It wasn't my name.
Speaker 12 (23:35):
Holy ghost was thrown and I had a big min
now like he fell on you, right, So you had
the Holy Spirit inside of you.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
But sometimes the Holy Spirit rest on you.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
You got a good nap on me Thursday night.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
He rested. When you get into deep worship.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Is what happened with Jabs.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
The little Holy Spirit encompassed with you.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
You was just you didn't catch it.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
You wasn't running. You don't gravel.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
It's good up mornings, y'all and it's time for Money Monday.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
And as we prepare to step into twenty twenty six,
it's the perfect time to take control of your finances
and set yourself up for success. Today, our money expert
jenn I Thorton is here with five your money habits
to help you build a strong financial foundation for the
year ahead.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Welcome back, Happy Holidays?
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Can I cappy Holidays?
Speaker 17 (25:08):
Happy money Monday?
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Yes, Happy money Monday, So listen. Saving more has to
be your top five habits for twenty twenty six. What
advice would you give to our listeners to save more money?
Speaker 17 (25:20):
This is a couple of things, Erica to make it easy.
Two words automation and separation. Have that money that you
want to save gris come directly out of your paycheck
and go into your bank account. If you have to
transfer it, it's not going to happen, So make it automatic.
Separate yourself, know yourself. You may need to put it
in a bank, or you don't have access where you
(25:42):
don't have a debit card where you're going to have
to drive to go get that money. Separate that money,
and then listen. If you can't save but five dollars
a paycheck, then that's.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Where you start.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
Very nice, Okay, So what's your second money habit to
help manage money well?
Speaker 4 (25:58):
In twenty twenty six.
Speaker 17 (26:00):
I call it the twenty four hour rule because it's
so easy to spend and people are always marketing to us.
Before you make that purchase, just give yourself twenty four
hours to see if you really want it, if you
really need it, instead of like, oh, let me mop
out that credit card. So give yourself that twenty four
hour grace before you make that purchase.
Speaker 12 (26:19):
Jeni for people who feel like they have the basics down,
like already, no, I'm saving good, I'm sweet with mine.
Speaker 7 (26:25):
What money have it?
Speaker 19 (26:26):
Do you need?
Speaker 7 (26:27):
What money have it?
Speaker 12 (26:28):
Would they need to take their finances to the next
level because you're gonna need to say more than five
dollars a month.
Speaker 17 (26:35):
I know that's right, grif.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
I call this level up.
Speaker 17 (26:38):
So now double down on what you're already doing that's working.
So put more in your retirement, save more. But what's
really important is find you some money friends or mentors.
Now you are who you hang out with even financially.
So we've travel with people, we go to brunch with
people who can you surround yourself with that. Now you
(27:00):
and start talking about money and growing in the topic
of money together.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
I love that. I love that, so I following the
fifty to thirty twenty rule. Is your fifth money tip
for twenty twenty six. What is the fifty to thirty
twenty rule?
Speaker 17 (27:14):
So that's when you're going to use fifty percent of
your pay for your necessities like your utilities, coin insurance,
thirty percent is for your want like get your hair
done or vacation, and twenty percent is the money that
you're going to save or pay down debt. Because a
lot of times people don't know how much they should
be spending on certain things or how much they should
(27:35):
be saving. Use that fifty thirty twenty rules to help
you achieve your financial goals. We have to be very
intentional with our money.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Absolutely, we are talking to our finance and legacy experts
and I thortuon Jeni.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
How can we follow you on.

How Do You Do It?
Speaker 8 (31:25):
A mindset manual for women who've had enough I'm not
taking care of yourself. So it's a book about how
moms or women put everybody and everything in front of them,
and it's just a hard looking to mirror at yourself
of how you should take some time out to make
sure that you're okay.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
And it has you want to talk more about that?
Speaker 4 (31:48):

Speaker 3 (33:01):
Yeah, you're not a sugar grits person.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
Can I get some lemons for my water?
Speaker 19 (33:05):
Please?
Speaker 7 (33:06):
And no ice? Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
My mom when we went to rest restaurant, ever she
asks for limits, and ever she asked lims. I would
drop my head because that means she's not buying anything
to drink. She's going to make lemon.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Lemonade, some sugar the table.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Yes, who's poor.
Speaker 7 (33:23):
Absolutely, y'all didn't make lemonade yourself to a lot.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
Of rest just lemon water. I don't think we don't
know she would ask for sugar and more limbs. Mama,
this is I'm making my own.
Speaker 7 (33:35):
Anyway.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Don't tell nobody should be so shamed. You mean you
told the whole.
Speaker 12 (33:39):
World at Wells because doctor my mama, real quick, mama, honey.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Well venos. Tell us how is your year being? Give

Speaker 7 (33:59):
Regular this year. Regular.
Speaker 24 (34:02):
I stayed regular.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Regular.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Yeah, way more lemons, thought I was regularly?
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Give him some please?
Speaker 24 (34:14):
No, actually, my daughter is staying with me now. My
my oldest came back home because You're always a parent.
You're always going to be a parent.
Speaker 7 (34:22):
She came back home.
Speaker 24 (34:23):
She brought her three children with herrand babies.
Speaker 4 (34:27):

Are you having a proper Christmas at Joe House?
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Does?
Speaker 15 (34:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 24 (34:42):
Well, you know what the hardest part is learning to
be a parent to younger children again.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Oh yeah, and this is a different generation say different
things than children.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
What do they call you?
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Venos?
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Pop pop?
Speaker 4 (34:58):
What they call you?
Speaker 7 (35:00):
Not often?
Speaker 12 (35:00):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
They call me they call me Grandpa. When they first
got there, they were calling Grandma over and over, Grandma
wild on a house dressed.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 24 (35:24):
Well, when they first came in, they were slowly destroying
my house. So we all had to have a talk.
And when I say talking, may be involved with belt.
Speaker 12 (35:32):
Oh yeah, sometimes I know what that's like. Yeah, and
what kind of what kind of toy is it? You
got two boys and a girl or two girls? The
youngest is a girl, the oldest is a girl in
the middle of a boy. And he is the terror
of all three. And he said the middle is for
I'm gonna send him something this week. I love the
(35:55):
little kids that I promise you I'm gonna get you
when we after we eat.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
Yes, grand Grandpa back.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
I love other.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
People's grand kids. It's not mine. Don't don't send no
toys and make noise.
Speaker 19 (36:13):
Well.
Speaker 25 (36:13):
I like the microphones. I like all little kids that's
two and three need to have a microphone, you know,
give them the wrong see the microphone sending.
Speaker 7 (36:24):
The boomerang right back to your house?
Speaker 4 (36:26):
No, my got you help me?
Speaker 3 (36:29):
I love it. We're hanging out with the team, getting
to know each other a little better, and celebrating the
end of our year. Stick around, we got mores. Get
up mornings, y'all.
Speaker 7 (36:46):
If you're listening to get up, Eric camp.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Good morning, good people, Let's get up. Morning's America Campbell
loving Jesus and loving you. Hey, everybody, how we feeling
this morning? Feeling golly? How does jolly feel?
Speaker 20 (37:04):
I like it?
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Like big laugh, Yeah, that's how I feel that. I
love it. Listen, y'all. Eleven minutes after the hour, I'll
give you a love talk.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Sure, we'll have the trending topics and Shannie will give
the quick sports a minute. Music from Ricky Dillard, Kirk
Franklin and Mariah Carey. Here's Tasha Cobb's letter with church.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
I'll get us.
Speaker 11 (37:29):
Let's talk about love for God, so love the world,
love talking.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Yes, it is time for the love talk of the day.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
And today I want to share something that happened at
Calli Worship birthday weekend for my husband and so it's
also Mama Campbell's birthday. And Dad Campbell got up and
while he loved and prayed for Warren, he then made
all the couples speak affirmations to one another.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
He talked about the seasons that you go through and
what can hold you together.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
Is publicly affirming and loving and rededicating yourself to your spouse.
So first he had the men stand up and just
say things like you are my queen, I will serve you,
forgive me if my words are harsh, if I've ever
hurt your heart, my commitment.
Speaker 12 (38:13):
Is to us.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
And then he had the women stand up and do
the same thing. You could hear the sniffles, you could
see the tears in the eyes, and it was just
a beautiful moment of public affirmation because after the men,
the women stood up and it was just really really
beautiful to rededicate yourself out loud. I think it is
easy when you're married to just go through life being married.
(38:34):
You know, you go where you go, when you work,
and you pay the bills. But sometimes we forget to
say those special things.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
And maybe it's not the whole speech that you said
on wedding day, but you know, to say, I'm dedicated
to this house, to you, to this union, to what
God is doing. I'm dedicated to this. Forgive me if
I have not treated it well. Forgive me if I've
handled it casually or harshly.
Speaker 5 (38:56):
It's really easy to do that with people that you love,
to talk harsh to them and go, well, you know,
I love you, but you know, but then I can't
feel it because sometimes your words, your words carry more
weight than what you know, and you could literally be
having small infractures in your relationship that really cause people
to say, you know what, I can't do this no more.
So we have to be open and honest about all
(39:18):
of it. Apology and confessions make the way for reconciliation.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
Some people hold it.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Some people are not good talkers, and.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
So they walk around in pain waiting for someone to
just see, and they don't see because you're just going
through life and that's okay. But learning to speak up
and say publicly that you love one another, that you're
dedicated to one another, and to also repent if you
have hurt their heart is just absolutely beautiful.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
It was a wonderful moment.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
And we have a lot of people who want to
be married in our church, so I think it was
a great way for people to see that it still
takes work, but it is possible to stay married and
for God to be the glue that holds you together.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
That's my love talk of the day. I believe in
public affirmation. Listen, y'all know, I'm gonna talk about mind
and I'm a love on that man and he does
this same for me, and it's a wonderful thing. That's
the left talk of the day.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Get people. Trending topics and the Quick Sports Minute are
up next them.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Get up morning.
Speaker 7 (40:15):
If you're listening to get up.
Speaker 13 (40:20):
Find out what everybody's talking about right now.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
Take it over the web.
Speaker 11 (40:24):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (40:25):
It's trending topics up to the minute. LL right, family,
here's what's trending. We talked about it on Friday, but
check this out.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
The John F.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Kennedy Center for the performing arts in Washington already. Don's
a new name on the building. It's the Trump Kennedy Center.
It's on the exterior of the building, and it was
put up on Friday, just a day after President Donald
Trump's hand pick board voted to change the arts institution's name.
The move came despite concerns the legality of the shift
(40:54):
and objections from the members of the Kennedy family and
lawmakers on both sides of the isle. After the center
announced that its board on Thursday voted unanimously to approve
the name change now, President Trump said Thursday he was
surprised and honored that the board of which he is
chair and which is composed of members he appointed earlier
(41:16):
this year, approved the name change now. The president, who
has revamped programming and events at the Kennedy Center since
the start of his term, previously teased the prospect of
changing the institution's name, writing in a post on True
Social and August Great nominees for the Trump Kennedy Center Whoops,
I mean Kennedy Center. Several Republican lawmakers had also proposed
(41:39):
changes to the name of the Kennedy Center and its
opera house, floating the idea of floating the idea of
naming the latter after the first Lady.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
Now legal experts says that the.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson administration era statues governing the creation
of the Kennedy Center had enshrined the original name in legislation.
They added that a new law passed by both chambers
of Congress and signed by the President would be needed
to change the name. It doesn't appear that the officials
in the Trump administration heeded those legal concerns, which were
(42:12):
shared by lawmakers in both parties on Thursday, before installing
his name on the building on Friday. Isn't that crazy?
So the board that he appointed and is chairing decided
to change the name of the Kennedy Center and then
began to put up the letters the next day, and
none of it is legal.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
I can't make this up anyway. Here's a good news story.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Shaquille O'Neal spreads a special brand of holiday cheer. Christmas
came early for some students at the Cap School of
the Arts. The school's gym was transformed into a high
energy winter wonderland on Thursday. Over one hundred students were
transported to the North pole, where Shaq Claus at his
l's were waiting with digital gift cards, contests and prizes.
(42:58):
Shaq credited his mom with the creation of the annual program.
Jack made another big announcement that day. He said he
would award three thousand dollars to the student with the
highest final exam score. Jack said he's not done. He's
promising more gifts are on the way for students in
the new year. Now that's a good news story. Have
you guys been watching The Voice Season twenty eight, A
(43:19):
powerful moment of faith took center stage on the national
television show. Finalist Max Chambers, who's only fourteen years old,
delivered a moving performance of Forrest Frank's worship anthem Your
Ways Better during the show's finale. Now he was raised
in Church, of course, and Chambers made the bold decision
to bring a christ centered message to one of the
(43:40):
world's biggest entertainment stages. His heartfelt rendition of Your Ways Better,
a song centered on surrender trust in choosing God's Way,
resonated deeply with viewers and quickly became one of the
most talked about moments of the finale. Chambers coach Michael
Bloublay praised the young singer not only for his vocal maturity,
but also the coach behind his song choice. All right, family,
(44:02):
that's what's Trendang Shawnee, you're up next with a sports minute.
Speaker 7 (44:07):
It's kill out a sports minute.
Speaker 8 (44:10):
Oh all right, Cheryl, Well, Shawne's holding down sports while
Griff goes to get us some more teeth and waffles.
The last night, the Pittsburgh Steelers had an issue with
DK medclap Well.
Speaker 4 (44:24):
Word is he.
Speaker 8 (44:25):
Put his hands on a fan, right, and the Steelers
coach Mike Tomlins said he'sn'tware of the situation, but he
ain't got no comment. Medclaff finished the game with four
catches for forty two yards as Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (44:38):
Secured a twenty nine to twenty four win.
Speaker 8 (44:42):
And we're gonna see what happens because the NFL says that,
you know, they gonna look into it. There could be
some possible discipline going on. But I'm gonna have to
go back and look at the replay and see what
really happened. Meanwhile, I'm getting excited because the Cowboys are
taking on Churyl's commanders. Now, the Cowboys lost and the
Commander's loss. So we'll see what happens on Christmas Day.
(45:05):
And I'm hoping that Santa Claus shows up with a
w for the Cowboys. Merry Christmas, id y'all hate us.
Here's Cheryl with birthdays.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Thank you, Shannie. If you're celebrating your birthday, you're celebrating
today with Bernadette Stanis. You know Velma from Good Times. Also,
Jordan Sparks has a birthday today. I've got a special birthday.
Shout out to Charise Nelson, a member of Richard Smallwood Envision,
a powerful singer. And Big Tigger's birthday is today, radio
veteran Big Tigger. Happy birthday, Tig. And if it's your birthday, well,
(45:37):
happy birthday from Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 7 (45:50):
If you're listening to Get Up camp.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Well, guys, we are at the end of our time
on this marvelous Monday, December twenty second, almost Christmas.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
Married Christmas, everybody. Thank you for rocking with us this morning.
Hope you feel blessed. Tell us what you enjoyed about
the show today.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
Good people.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
Man, You know I love waffles and tea because I
love to find out more information about each of us

that we share today. Let's end with the word of prayer. Lord,
you are good, and your mercy endureth forever. I just
thank you and I praise you for your goodness, your mercy,
your grace, your strength, your wisdom.

harm and danger. Lord, bless every family. Lord, hold them together,
heal what is broken, restore what is lost.

He's amen, Amen, God, to pray for these families, y'all
