This episode of Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell centers on moving through life with focus, grace, and wisdom. In her Faith Walk segment, Erica delivers a timely word on “Focus Faith Forward,” reminding listeners not to let distractions derail divine purpose. Using a vivid metaphor of drivers watching their rearview mirrors instead of the road ahead, she encourages believers to stop replaying the past and instead “drive forward in faith,” trusting that God has already prepared victory for what’s next.

The show takes a holistic turn with Coach Gessie Thompson, who joins for “Healthy Ever After” to debunk menopause myths and empower women to thrive instead of suffer. She explains that with balanced nutrition and hormone care, symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats aren’t inevitable—and that perimenopause can actually become a season of renewal, not despair. Rounding out the episode, Erica’s Love Talk explores the evolution from parenting to coaching adult children, sharing heartfelt lessons from her own journey with her 21-year-old daughter. She compares the parental shift to God’s patient guidance: “He lets us choose but never leaves us.” From faith discipline to physical wellness to emotional maturity, this episode blends humor, healing, and hope—reminding listeners that forward faith means growing stronger in every area of life.

well on, get up morning.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
You know.

Speaker 7 (02:36):
All right, Sybil, what's in the news.

Speaker 8 (02:37):
It's Cibil Wills with what we need to know. The
White House clarified Tuesday that the Trump administration will comply
with a federal court order requiring it to use a
contingency fund to provide food benefits to millions of Americans.
That statement came after President Trump's truth social post saying
snapaid would only go out once Democrats vote to end

(03:00):
the shutdown, which caused confusion about the administration's plans. The
NAACP is suing Virginia election officials, accusing them of disenfranchising
college students by rejecting voter registration forms missing details like
dorm names, room numbers, or campus mailboxes. The lawsuit, filed
in federal court argues the rule places an unjustified burden

(03:23):
on student voters. As a Supreme Court considers a separate
case that could weaken the Voting Rights Act, the Supreme
Court will hear arguments Wednesday on President Trump's sweeping tariffs,
a major test of his use of emergency powers to
reshape global trade. The case centers on whether the International
Emergency Economic Powers Act allows a president to impose tariffs

(03:46):
under the guise of regulating imports, something no previous administration
has done. Small businesses and Democratic led states argue Congress
never intended for the nineteen seventy seven law to cover tariffs,
while try lawyers say it grants broad authority in times
of national or economic crisis. From the Good News file,

(04:08):
eight year old Alex Anning from Chicago South Side South
Side is turning his birthday into a blessing for others.
Instead of gifts and cake, Alex is hosting a food drive,
partnering with the nonprofit Season to Soar. He's event at
the Carrie Jacobs Bond Elementary School will provide groceries and

(04:28):
a powerful reminder that kindness, no matter how small, can
make a big difference. All right, young man, I'm Sybil Wilks.
Be informed, be empowered in brigame.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
It's good kill up sports minute.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
I hate the Homies. Episode one fifty three is out
right now. Look the the proper college football rankings came out.
Let me go through a number one, the suck eyes
go blue. Indiana's number two. Texas A and M is
number two, three, Alabama's number four, University of Georgia's number five,
oh Miss at six BYU done snuck in there at

(05:07):
seven Texas Tech.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
I just don't believe. I'm not a believer their number eight.
Oregon is at nine. Notre Dame is at ten and
shouldn't be. I'm gonna just say that out loud. Texas
is eleven, Oklahoma's twelve, Louisville's fifteen. My Michigan Wolverines are
twenty one.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
In six and three.

Speaker 6 (05:29):
Tennessee closed it out at twenty five, and the NFL.
The Jets traded Sauce Gardner, their best player to the
coach to some winners. He about to be a problem,
and he going to Indy two. The people in New
York is so mean. He gonna go to Indianapolis and
just get love. And number six Dukee got some more boochiers.

(05:50):
They Daddy Carlos went there. But the Twins is there now.
And Kim went fifteen to thirteen in his debut, seventy
five to sixty over Texas. I'm Griff and that's your
quick sportsman in and here go to birthdays Chris Jenner,
Kim Kardashian, Mama, Odell Beckham Junior I Turner had a
birthday today and actor Seth Gill them. The faith Walk

(06:13):
is coming up next is Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
You're listening to Get Up Faith Walk right now? Hey man,
new faith Walk?

Speaker 5 (06:35):
All right, Listen, we all live in cities where at
times there's crazy traffic, and it's always a number of
reasons for trades crazy traffic. You got your new drivers,
you got your distracted drivers, you got.

Speaker 7 (06:47):
Your lookie lose. You know, the lookie loser is an accident.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
They not in it, but they slow down to look
at it, and it slows up all traffic, right, regardless
of why you stop, it slows everybody down. Well, guess
what when you are distracted with life, the same thing
happens when you don't have your mind and your heart
and your spirit focused on what God has caused you to.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
Do, everything will throw you off.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
A family issue, a financial issue, a health issue. You've
got to know that the enemy don't really want your money.
He wants your faith. He wants you to not believe.
The enemy don't really want your kids. He wants your faith.
He wants you to stop believing, to be so distracted
on what God said that you'll look at what's happening
now that you won't work towards what you know God
promised you. And so today I want to just challenge

(07:30):
all of us to stay focused when it comes to
focused and being diligent about being in God's word, focused
and being diligent about the call on your life, not
treating it randomly, not acting like, well, I prayed yesterday,
I mean I'm cool, I'm gonna do it. I pray
tomorrow every day. We need to be focused on hearing
from the Father. And if you have a relationship with somebody,

(07:50):
you want to talk to him.

Speaker 6 (07:51):
Right.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
If you have a relationship with somebody, you want to
check on them. You want to see how they're doing,
You want to find out what they think about what
you're doing. How they feel comes important in your everyday decisions.
Don't let the distractions of life get you so turned
around that you don't realize I'm off course. God has
called me to do something great, and I'm of course.

(08:11):
I'm looking at them, I'm looking at this, I'm looking back.
It's everything instead of everything, instead of looking forward. It's
like a driver who keeps looking in the rear view mirror.
You need the rear view mirror, but though you can't
keep looking back at the rearview mirror. And now they
got weirdview rear view mirrors. It's not even a rearview mirror,
it's a camera. So you're trying to look forward and
look backward at the same time, and it's throwing you off.

(08:34):
Let's accept what has happened as what has happened, and
let's move forward. Let's focus on what God has said,
what he promised, what we know to be true, that
he promised us the victory, that he promised us that
he would take.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
Good care of us.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
Thanks being to God who always causes us to triumph.
I want you to remember that. I want you to
focus forward and keep moving forward. Faith forward, How about
that faith forward today. That's what I want you to do.
That is my faith walk for the day. Guys, you
know what it is? Birthday shout out time eight seven
seven two for two two four to six.

Speaker 7 (09:05):

we get to hear from him, Griff, You're gonna bless
the people today.

Speaker 6 (13:03):
I want to talk about generational wealth. I love reading
that a lot in the Bible and like really concentrating
on what that means.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
What's that look like?

Speaker 7 (13:13):
Yeah? I love that.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
Plus I'm sharing an air chasm. And then later on
we'll cap it off with joys and concerns. Music from
Maverick City, Otis Kemp and Vashan Mitchell. Here's Rudy Currance
with God don't cancel me on, Get up.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Morning, Signed from mister Serious Griff. Are you serious?

Speaker 7 (13:31):
Come on? It's real? All right, sir, it's on you.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Thanks ee.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
So I watched the movie Sarah's Oil.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
Have you seen it yet? He no, I haven't.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
Okay, it comes out tomorrow. It'll be in theaters all weekend.
You can go check it out. But Sarah's Oil is
about an eleven year old girl and probably like nineteen nineteen,
nineteen twenty who got some land from her family, maybe
a high forty five acres or so like write less
than one point fifty and uh, nobody cared about the

(14:06):
land till I had oil on it. And she literally
heard the oil. And this little spunky girl woo. She
loved the lord, and she was smart and she knew money,
and she was eleven. And I'll tell you more about
Sarah's oil and trending topics. But that little girl made
me think. And a lot in the Bible, you always

(14:28):
see your children's children's children's children, right. And I heard
doctor Jamal Brian say one time that black people eighty
five percent of black people don't know they're great great
grandparents or after their great grandparents. Some of them just grandparents.
And I ain't get left nothing from nobody in my

(14:54):
family yet. Maybe I just started looking online. I know
you used to look online or go on the newspaper
and see if somebody left you some up there. But
I want to be able to be that person for
my family, for my you know, I got grandkids. Monika
and I together have grandkids. And I want to learn

(15:14):
more about trust funds and trust that you can put
money in, and a trust fund, you know, you hear
that and you think, oh, you got to be rich
to have Well, no, you're just setting up something for later.
Like you, you don't want to leave a fifteen year
old two hundred thousand dollars. Maybe after they graduate from
college or go to some college or whatever, you can

(15:37):
put all that in trust fund, like after twenty five,
after thirty and married, after one kid, you know, whatever
you want to. I don't want to be the boss
of nobody, but yeah, I'm definitely not giving no child
no money like that, no offense to all my grand
babies about if you're not getting nothing till you got
some sense and to you got to go to school

(15:59):
for I didn't. You got to get a couple of
years somewhere and then maybe I've set it up where
you can go to school for free because of your grandpa.
You know what I'm saying. It's time now as people
to know that. You know, they've been telling us our
whole lives social Security for one k and man, is

(16:20):
it promised? Though you promised? Tomorrow is right now? We
need to start working on our wheels. That's basically what
this whole mister Griffin.

Speaker 10 (16:28):
Is about.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
I have to work on my wheel.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
I have to stop pushing it aside. I have to stop.
I have to be very realistic that I'm gonna die
and people gonna be left, and those people I don't
want left with bills. I don't want y'all to never
have to have to sell chicken to put your daddy away.

(16:56):
I want to be cremated anyway, but I don't want
you to have to do nothing want I don't want
it to be a problem.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
And let me leave you.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
Let me bless you with some bread so that can
You know what I'm saying. My daddy died, but let
me go on vacation somewhere. You know what I'm saying,
Like I want. I want it to be an easy
transition because it was an easy transition while I was
alive to take care of you, you know. Let me
just leave you something and take care of you on
the backside, as your father, as your grandfather, as your

(17:25):
great great grandfather.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
That's why, mister Griffin, for today.

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Wow, that's beautiful, and it's so necessary for us to think
about what's next after I'm gone and not the family
not having a hard time. I have a big service
that we have to go to and you know, hearing
certain phone calls just mean we wasn't properly prepared, That's
all it is. So if you care about them, love
them even in death. Y'all say, we got more on

(17:50):
the waves. Get Up Mornings.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
If you're listening to Get Up Erica.

Speaker 10 (18:04):
Get Up Morning.

Speaker 7 (18:09):
My name is Jory.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Griff. Go ahead.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
I was literally just listening to it yesterday. That's my
cham too, but you better go ahead and sing.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
Uh. So listen, y'all, it is an interesting season in
my life. I told you all that yesterday. I went
to help my mom move And for all y'all mama's
out there, who you have lots and lots of plastic bags.
We just want to know why all of them grocery bags.

(18:43):
So she rolls up the grocery blacks nicely and puts
rubber bands around them because when she goes to the store,
she want to be able to have a bag. I
understand it in theory, but I mean, Griff, me and
Tita was trying to throw stow away. Oh lord, she.

Speaker 7 (18:58):
Just didn't she.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
I use that for some and you know I got
the grand kids. I'm gona get it to the grand kids.

Speaker 7 (19:06):
Mama.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
How long you had this about three years. I forgot
last Christmas because I can remember where I put it. Lady,
Let's talk about purging ladies and gentlemen, let's talk about
getting these things. Let's talk about the trauma that is
connected to letting go. That's really what I think it is.
And you know, not just to put my mom on blasts,

(19:26):
because I know that many people deal with it. If
you ever watched the show Hoarders, they have a reason
for everything that they have.

Speaker 7 (19:32):
They literally do and they believe it in their heart.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Not definitely my mama, ain't that or else I will
burn the house down, because you know that's God.

Speaker 7 (19:40):
But she does have lots.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Of items, okay, and two storages.

Speaker 7 (19:45):
Okay, So we're just gonna leave that right there.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
But what I want us to consider is why do
we keep certain things?

Speaker 7 (19:51):
Why do we hold on to certain things?

Speaker 5 (19:53):
You have to literally dig into who you are and
why you are how you are. It's part of the
reason I did laugh, cry heal. You know, my cutoff
game is strong with feel don't feel, care, don't care.
It is and I you know, after one of the
therapists that was on the tour started asking me some questions.
I was going, oh, this singing, this isn't actually healthy,

(20:13):
you know, Grip playfully calling me a time boy because
y'all I could break up with dudes, so good care.

Speaker 6 (20:20):
Oh oh you got.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
That?

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Don't call me no boy? Oh yeah, for real. He
was so mad when I asked me give me that.
He was like, no, are you acting like that? I said,
because you acting like that, you know. But anyway, it
was me trying to protect myself. That's what I learned.
That's what I realized, right, protecting myself from what? Protecting myself?
Why is there a level of rejection that I didn't acknowledge?
There are always ways to understand in therapy, is a way,

(20:47):
prayers away, living in community, having a good circle of accountability,
you know, you know, it's a good way to get better.
Don't get mad at your kids. This is the first
time they've lived with you at this age and a
lot of times as kids we I'll say we because
I feel the same way, you know, the young version
that the feisty version, the take care of business version

(21:09):
of your parent.

Speaker 7 (21:10):
And as you get older, you change, and sometimes it's.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
Hard to grapple or embrace the fact that your parent
won't be here always. That is a hard truth that
will all face one day. And so I think preparing
your heart and praying that God give you the grace
to be a good child even when your parents get older,
is very important. A lot of times you fuss at
them or you simply don't go, and that ain't healthy either.

(21:33):
Go to your mama's house, go to your grandmama's house.
I know, maybe they're mean, they're older, it's different. You
still have the responsibility to love them. Don't let them
live out their days by themselves. Sometimes you're hurt from
the choices that they made and that don't let them
live out their days by themselves. I remember one of
my older aunts who was known as the mean aunt

(21:54):
tie and will say crazy stuff, not too many nieces
and nephews, you know. Wanted her to come over and
I was like, you know, come over my house. And
we sat and talked and she said, do you think
I want to be known as the mean one? She said,
do you think I want my nieces and nephews to
see me that way? She said, I am who I
am because of how I was raised. What do I
do with that?

Speaker 7 (22:12):
And I said, well, let's just talk, Auntie.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
And as we begin to talk, I saw a different
side of her heart, and I thought that was so important.
So listen, if you're in your forties and fifties and
your parents are older, be kind and be gracious and
pray for God to help you love them the way
they deserve, not in response to what.

Speaker 7 (22:29):
They did when you were younger. I love you so much, y'all.
Stick around. We got more on the wags. Get up morning.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
If you're listening to.

Speaker 9 (22:36):
Get up the church, say Amen.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
The time for concerns well.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Saying to the moe's hard God, we are coming to
you live from the get up Church of Our Lord.
After denominational, denominational A m C and me G element
OP and Ostallid Church of God and grugs all right,
the other differ.

Speaker 7 (23:01):
Thank you, birth lady. Pastor.

Speaker 6 (23:04):
Gotta say Happy birthday to Ronda Friday in Detroit. What

Speaker 5 (27:17):
Listen, so many women are struggling in silence with menopause
or perimenopause, or have wrong information. I'm seeing so much
online on social media, so I want to jump in
with a few of your MythBusters. Number One, hot flashes
is something that we have to accept during menopause.

Speaker 7 (27:33):
Let's talk about it, girl. It's about time.

Speaker 11 (27:36):
We change these hot flashes into not flashes. Okay, So
this myth is, like you know, it's literally the first
thing that women speak about.

Speaker 7 (27:46):
And the truth is we don't have to suffer if
we shift right.

Speaker 11 (27:50):
We call them in my work, we call them not
flashes because you know, with the right support, you can
literally turn those hot flashes off when your hormones are
balanced and nutrients like D three are optimized, not struggle busts,
but at high what we call therapeutic levels around eighty sisters,

(28:10):
eighty Okay, your body stops sending those alarm signals, and your.

Speaker 7 (28:15):
Sleep improves, your mood.

Speaker 11 (28:17):
Evens out, and those fiery moments they fade. You know,
it's literally we see it every day. Once we help
women rebounce their hormones, resent their symptoms, their systems, the
symptoms really they go away and they're like, wait a minute,
I can't even remember the last time I had a
hot flash.

Speaker 7 (28:33):
Wow, Wow, that is amazing.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Okay, so myth too, your only option or a menopause
is hormone therapy or just tough it out.

Speaker 7 (28:41):
Let's talk about that.

Speaker 11 (28:42):
Yeah, that's really a big one, especially right now where
everybody's talking about, you know, hormone replacement therapy and guess what,
no judgment whatever you choose. But I know, as for
me and my house, I'm just not putting more hormones
in my body, right And the truth is there are
natural science back ways to help you body restore balance.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
All right.

Speaker 11 (29:02):
Our client Victoria call Well, she's a leadership strategist and
one of our amazing Detox Now community members. And when
she came to us, not only was she dealing with
hot flashes, but Erica, she was dealing with night sweats
and worst of all. As a newlywet she was dealing
with recurring UTIs all right, which people rarely talk about

(29:23):
as a perimenopause symptom, but within six weeks I didn't it.

Speaker 7 (29:27):
Is to it all.

Speaker 12 (29:28):
Yeah, it's because.

Speaker 11 (29:29):
What happens is when the hormones drop, it disrupts the microbiome,
your microbiome, which now disrupts the vaginal pH right. So
this was a huge issue for her because she was
a newlywed and think about.

Speaker 7 (29:41):
That, that's really just right. Got to keep her together exactly.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
So tell us how do we find out about this
detox Now.

Speaker 11 (29:53):
Yes, so first of all, we want people to know
you have hope, you know, and we encourage them to
take our quick is to see if our balance or
kid is ready and grace to them because in six
weeks she was literally able to reclaim her life and that.

Speaker 7 (30:07):
Could be the case for you.

Speaker 11 (30:08):
So go to the detoxnow dot com and just take
our symptom quiz and see if it's the right solution
for you and it could be part of the solution
for you.

Speaker 7 (30:17):
But the truth is.

Speaker 11 (30:18):
You can turn your menopause into what we call the
meno moon.

Speaker 7 (30:23):
I love it, I love it.

is like sis, thank you, I'm gonna share this with
my wife, and now his wife has gotten really so
you want your relief too, brothers, Yes, how you do

Speaker 9 (31:51):
If you're listening to get Up with Erica Campbo It's
time to wake up and win. With doctor Willie Jolly.

Speaker 13 (32:06):
It's another great day. This is doctor Willie Jolly, author
of the book A Setback as a set Up for
a Comeback, and it is now come back time. Today
I want to talk about the power of faith and
turning a setback into a comeback. We know that faith
is the substance of things hopeful and the evidence of
things not seen. Yet we need to know that faith
is not just a now, but it.

Speaker 7 (32:24):
Is also a verb.

Speaker 13 (32:25):
In other words, it is a concept that denotes action.
In order to turn your setbacks into comebacks, you not
only have to have some faith, but also must act faithfully.
You might have a setback that has knocked you to
the canvas, and you must have faith and act faithfully.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
To get up and get on, to go on and win.

Speaker 13 (32:45):
And keep this in mind that faith is like a muscle,
and the more you act on faith. The stronger you
will get in your faith, and the bigger the mountains
you will be able to move. So faith your way
to success.

Speaker 1 (32:57):

Got grow and get all.

Speaker 5 (33:49):
Right, y'all, it is time for the get uphold question
of the day. I love this when we're gonna have
some fun today. I know many of you grew up
in a house where you couldn't say certain things like
in my house, we couldn't say lie, we had to
say tell a story, and we couldn't say but we
had to say bum buns like it was crazy. But
in these times, sassy kids are going viral. Disrespectful kids

(34:12):
are the funniest thing. And I just you don't want
to know what y'all think about it. Do are we
normalizing bad behavior? Some of these actions would have gotten
me shrake keeled, like have you seen the jump at
your mama prank?

Speaker 6 (34:28):
And these fathers are, oh man, that is so fun
like and they got it. They got it.

Speaker 7 (34:37):
I'm right. Some of them get choked before they.

Speaker 6 (34:39):
Yes, they and some of them ain't far enough away from.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
The repercussion.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
Like you right, But I mean even think all the
way back to listen, Linda, listen, Linda, I wonder how
old he is? Tell him his mama at grandma's house.
We can do this, It's okay, listen, Linda. You're not listening,
eyes closed, just as rude. And it's a bunch of them.
I wasn't allowed to say dang. I wasn't allowed to
suck my teeth like, oh no, smack your teeth.

Speaker 6 (35:07):
Yeah, I wasn't allowed to say I ain't or I'm
not going to or I won't really, Oh no, you wasn't.
You won't do what? What tell me again in my face?

Speaker 7 (35:19):
What you're not gonna do? In my mom? And I
know she listened right now.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
My brothers and sisters to laugh because they know it's
true my mom. And she would say do something, hurry
up and do it. And then she would run in
the room and say.

Speaker 7 (35:30):
What'd you say about your mama?

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Say that.

Speaker 7 (35:33):
We ain't say nothing, mama.

Speaker 6 (35:34):
It was all in your mouth face mouth, yes, oh yes,
now you're trying to fix your face to smile, mouth
say something. Oh yeah, she would run. You wouldn't even
be able to get a good man. I ain't even
in your mind. You wasn't able to stay yeah, lenor
wasn't about that life? You do and it was gonna

(35:55):
be fine.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
So these actions are now normal. Kids show their parents
I've been out the room. Like in the car, they
don't talk back, they roll their eyes. They get out
the car and they got money on their on their phone.
Then they could put I just it's a different day
in time. So what is something you couldn't say as
a kid that you actually told your kids they can't do.

(36:19):
But did you stop it after you did it? Did
you keep going?

Speaker 7 (36:21):
Like, because my kids don't have it as bad as
I did at all? They probably should though, Uh.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
But we were here for y'all today eight seven seven
two for two to four to two six. You're talking
about these sassy bad kids going viral? How y'all feel
about that? Could you say some of the stuff that
these kids are saying?

Speaker 6 (36:37):
I never And then why are you recording my kids
to school?

Speaker 7 (36:40):
Oh? Yeah, that little girl too? Oh yeah, that little girl?

Speaker 6 (36:44):
They said, Well, first of all, I'm having a bad
day because of you.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
Like yeah that eight seven seven two for two two
four two six. These sassy viral kids, how y'all feel
about it? Eight seven seven two for two two four
two six. Because Get Up mornings.

Speaker 9 (37:01):
If you're listening to Get Up.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
You heard from us, because I got.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
Okay, So the Get Up poll today we are talking
about things we couldn't say. But you know, we're using
the backdrop of several kids that have gone viral for
basically being disrespectful, And it seems like a common thread
that we see all the time. Little kids in our
timeline just going crazy on their parents and that in
addition to the pranks of people are doing.

Speaker 7 (37:32):
It's just wild to me.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
I wouldn't imagine some of these pranks that are doing
on their grandmothers and moms and dads and grandma's.

Speaker 7 (37:39):
You bothered my mama, right?

Speaker 6 (37:42):
Leniga just text me and said that she if you
said yeah, or what you was getting a woodpan?

Speaker 7 (37:48):
Like yeah, did you hear yeah?

Speaker 6 (37:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (37:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Oh you heard?

Speaker 7 (37:51):
Yes, yeah, yes, yes, ma'am.

Speaker 6 (37:54):
Yes, kids call their parents bruh, bruh, Eric.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
Grown grown, I'm still little, and I have to remind
mine I'm not. I'm not these like your friend's parents
on you. Yeah, you're not calling me bruh at all, mommy,
mommy or missus Campbell to you.

Speaker 7 (38:15):
Your life together a man. So today we.

Speaker 5 (38:18):
Want to know how you feel about these kids and
what's something you could not say growing up. Let's go
to Kim and Georgia. Hey, Kim and Georgia, when's something
you couldn't say as a kid.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Oh my god, I don't even want to think about her.
And like you, in our home, we couldn't say live.
We had to say cut of story, but we definitely
could not say shut up. You would get put on
punishment for shut up. And you bet not addressed my
mother and hers or.

Speaker 7 (38:46):
Still on that one, right big on that one.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Yeah, my kids can't call me her or she at all.
Thank you for calling Kim. Okay, what about Dale? And
Charlotte is on the line. Hey, Dale, we're talking about
these kids. It's something you couldn't say.

Speaker 7 (39:01):
As a kid.

Speaker 10 (39:01):
Well, we couldn't say anything that would in any way,
in any way interpreted is disrespectful.

Speaker 7 (39:09):
Nothing what uh maybe I'm calling you what?

Speaker 1 (39:12):
No?

Speaker 7 (39:12):
No, yes, ma'am, Yes, sir, I'm right.

Speaker 10 (39:14):
No.

Speaker 6 (39:15):
No.

Speaker 7 (39:16):
Look, you crack your lip a certain way, just pretend
to think.

Speaker 4 (39:20):
You a certain way, you're gonna get knocked through a wall.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
There's a rule.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
If it ain't cute when they're thirteen, it's not cute
when they're three.

Speaker 7 (39:28):
And that's a I love that rule. I like that Sam.
It's like, look, if you don't want to get put
down and.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Put out and have a twobstone over your.

Speaker 10 (39:36):
Head, you better act right from the get go.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
You're gonna get you know what they do?

Speaker 7 (39:42):
They go, yeah, go go pick your switch, go pick
your brands, go pick your shoe, because you.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Can get the beat down. So no, no, no, no, no,
no no. We got to get it right at the
earliest age possible.

Speaker 10 (39:53):
So this craziness that we're seeing, you got to make
sure to protect them from their friends because they.

Speaker 7 (39:58):
Gonna get them killed.

Speaker 6 (39:59):
They're gonna get it.

Speaker 7 (40:01):
Thank you for calling down. We appreciate you.

Speaker 10 (40:03):
I love you, guys.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Keep rise for the child.

Speaker 7 (40:08):
Thank you for calling by.

Speaker 6 (40:10):
Listen, let's go to Georgia and talk to the homie Tony. Tony,
what things weren't you allowed to say when you were young?

Speaker 10 (40:17):
I didn't say, but we have to say, Booty, I
didn't say hell, we have to stay down there.

Speaker 7 (40:27):
Sound like my house. I understand it, Tony. Thank you,
old you guys, you too well.

Speaker 5 (40:33):
By Robert in Texas is on the line. Hey, Robert,
what's something you couldn't say as.

Speaker 7 (40:37):
A kid man?

Speaker 10 (40:39):
We couldn't say fool or what? You better not answer
a question with the word what.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
The word fool?

Speaker 10 (40:46):
You better not call nobody else fool.

Speaker 7 (40:48):
My mama still say you in danger? Hell's fired?

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Don't you say that to this day I'm a thousand
years old.

Speaker 6 (40:56):
Thank you for calling Robert. Right, let's go to South
Carolina and talk to James. James, Oh gee, what were
some things you couldn't say growing up?

Speaker 7 (41:07):
And did you teach that to your kids?

Speaker 10 (41:09):
I'm definitely teaching it to my kids. And a few
things when I couldn't say, lie, that's a big no. No.
I couldn't. I couldn't breathe hard.

Speaker 7 (41:17):
That you know, Oh yeah, a big breadth.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
My mom called it. Oh you big breathing over there.

Speaker 10 (41:27):
Okay. Couldn't do no stumping, oh no stumping. And I
couldn't slam no doors, slam, no door no no. Yeah, man,
but I appreciate that. Hey, listen, that bottle thing is wild.

Speaker 4 (41:40):
Man.

Speaker 10 (41:40):
I'm surprised these kids still got teethed. I can see
you know what.

Speaker 5 (41:45):
Okay, thank you for calling today.

Speaker 7 (41:48):
We appreciate you, sir.

Speaker 10 (41:49):
Hey, thank y'all for being on the radio. I love
y'all radio show. Y'all keep putting it out. We love y'all.

Speaker 5 (41:54):
Yes, sure, bye bye bla blah blah blass. Well we
could tell that to get up church is people of
a certain age, because man, yeah, I think Tony said that.

Speaker 7 (42:05):
Bruh, be taking me out.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
Bruh.

Speaker 6 (42:07):
Nope, you're not calling. You wouldn't have one chance to
call me, bro, you wouldn't fix that. Learn that from you,
And it took one from.

Speaker 5 (42:14):
Immediately not doing it or just cut off the money.

Speaker 7 (42:18):
I did get him real good in together and the WiFi,
Oh the wi Fi.

Speaker 5 (42:26):
Good morning, good people, is get up mornings. I'm Areica Campbell,
loving Jesus and loving you on this wonderful Wednesday November.
If it's up having a great morning already? What's coming
up this hour? Grasp's just a couple of minutes, fans
the hour.

Speaker 6 (42:39):
Eleven minutes after the hour, you'll have your love talk,
and later this hour Sybil Wills will have news and
uh no, I'm doing trending topics in the sports. Yeah,
there's a whole lot of me coming up, how about that? Yes,
a whole lot of Garland Dwayne Hour.

Speaker 5 (42:56):
Absolutely listen, y'all. We've got the Clark sisters, A D
and Todd. You lady, here's Jaqueline Carr with don't faint,
don't get up morning, Yes, talk about love for.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
God, so love the world, y'all, Love up morning.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Yes, it is time for the love talk of the day.
And I literally just finished sending my daughter a message
my twenty one year old daughter. Y'all know Krista, Yes,
Christa is twenty one, y'all, and you know loving grown
children is different.

Speaker 7 (43:24):
So this is new for me.

Speaker 5 (43:25):
You know, I've had little kids and so now they
are getting older and loving them it doesn't change, but how.

Speaker 7 (43:31):
You parent them does.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
And so becoming more coach like becoming asking questions that
allow her to speak so I can hear her voice,
giving her the trust that she needs from me to
make her own decisions, and not guilting her when she
does make those choices that I don't always agree with.
It is not easy, but what I don't want I
don't want to grow older and my kids don't want

(43:53):
to come home because I won't let them be adults.
But I also don't want to be not be there
for them because I'm trying to let them be adults
and they feel abandoned.

Speaker 7 (44:03):
So it is a delicate juggle.

Speaker 5 (44:06):
But I liken it to how the Lord allows me
to make my decisions, but he will guide me. He
will be there to correct me and love me. I
always tell people I never felt Jesus hit me in
the head. Life has because of my choices. You know,
I've had to deal with the consequences and circumstances of
my choices. But God has always lovingly been there. So
I'm trying to be that kind of parent, y'all. It
sounds impossible, I know, but when God is your reference point,

(44:28):
it keeps you from beating up your children. It keeps
you from saying and doing things that feel mean and unkind.
And sometimes when your children's choices make you feel away
like they're gonna think I'm not a good parent because
you didn't make good choices, you got to check that
because they are.

Speaker 7 (44:44):
Not they your children, but they're God's.

Speaker 5 (44:47):
They're God's children first, and we should manage our children
well as children of God the same way God loves us.

Speaker 7 (44:55):
That's the same way we should manage our children.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
And sometimes you owe your kids an apology because you
was mean and hollered and scrammed and fussed and told
them what they wasn't gonna because they didn't get good
grades of what they wasn't gonna because they room wasn't playing,
or what they you know, or either you cuddle them
too much and they can't make a decision. Now, the
ain't on your couch at forty seven with all that stuff,
So It is a juggle. It is not easy, and

(45:18):
I get it. Y'all only got one this twenty one.
I can't imagine what my mom goes through with eight
grown girls who always have something to say. We are
currently helping my mom move, and you know some of
my sisters.

Speaker 7 (45:29):
That have to say talk nicely.

Speaker 5 (45:32):
Don't talk down to my mama because you don't understand
why she did it, so you don't like what she did.

Speaker 7 (45:35):
Grown she could do what she wants to. Don't talk
to my mama like that.

Speaker 5 (45:40):
Parenting or being a child and having love in your
heart and remembering how God loves you will help you
be better at loving the people that you say you love,
Because when they do what you don't want them to do,
what do you do when they make you mad?

Speaker 7 (45:53):
What do you do?

Speaker 5 (45:53):
How do you respond? Do you respond in love or
hate or anger? Do you shut them off? Do you
cuss them out?

Speaker 1 (45:58):
What do you do?

Speaker 7 (46:00):
You still have a responsibility to love them.

Speaker 5 (46:01):
They still your kids. I don't care how bad they are.
I don't care what they did. Guess what, that's still
your blood. And I know all blood ain't fair and
all blood ain't ain't kind. But if you're a believer.
You're trying to be like Jesus. Guess what, you got
a bigger responsibility than they do. Take a deep breath,
all of us. That's the love talk of the day.
I know all kids ain't created equal, all parents ain't

(46:22):
created equal, but we still have a responsibility to love
and honor. All right, that is the love talk of
the day. I love you what I mean it, y'all

to pray because this next generation they messing it all up,
these kids being bad.

Like, get out in here. What you love about the show? Crazy?

Speaker 6 (52:38):
I loved I really like mister Griffin talking about legacy.
You know what I'm saying. It's really been on my
spirit hard. And I think we should talk to Ryl
about having like a will and after you gone person,
I would like to talk to somebody from a mortuary
because they have all the horrible stories, and I think

(52:59):
once you hear the horrible story, you going to be
like that ain't gonna be for my family. But speaking
of family, today are the Dow's thirty first anniversary Victoria
and Jeff and Durham, North Carolina. You always hear me
talking about them on the light. They one of my
favorite couples. They love Jesus, they love a family, and

(53:20):
they love each other. In thirty one years should be commanded,
how about that? Absolutely? For sure, definitely commended.

Speaker 5 (53:26):
Listen, y'all, we hope that you hear something that helps
you in your life. We're not just playing gospel mus
We hope to give you something tools for your life.
Whether it's Griff talking about generational welfare, we're talking about
loving relationships and how parenting changes once you get older.
There's so many things that we need, and so I
hope that you hear something that helps you in your life,
and I hope the music only just seals it and

(53:48):
allows you to praise and cry and get over and
heal and all that good stuff. We love y'all so much,
and I pray the rest of your day is blessed.
Let's end with the word of prayer. Father, I just
thank your praise you so much for your goodness. It's
mercy and grace. I thank you Lord that we walk
into this day knowing that you are in control, that
all things will be well. Lord, even if it's a storm,
You'll still take care of us. Even if it's dark,

(54:10):
you are the light. Even if we find something broken, Lord,
you are the healer. And so I thank you that
we won't get stressed and overwhelmed because God, you got us.
And so we thank you God for growth. We thank
you for healing. We thank you for proper perspective. We
thank you for falling more in love with your words,
saying what you have already said about us.

Speaker 7 (54:27):
I think that will be a light everywhere we.

Speaker 5 (54:29):
Go, and Father will give you our glory, honor and
praise because it's already yours and your mighty name. I
pray thank God, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, All.
