This episode of Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell is all about shaking off negativity and stepping boldly into purpose. In her Faith Walk, Erica reminds listeners to “forget them people” — those who doubt your calling or can’t see your growth. Drawing from Matthew 13, she explains how even Jesus was dismissed in His hometown and urges believers not to let rejection stop their purpose. “They may not believe in you, but you’re still called,” she says, encouraging listeners to focus on divine affirmation over public validation.

Her Ericaism of the Day, “Somebody is Doing the Right Thing,” continues the theme, challenging believers to stop amplifying bad news and start celebrating the good that is happening in churches, families, and communities. She reminds us that faith grows louder when we spread stories of hope instead of hurting. Rounding out the show, Money Monday with Dave Anderson, a.k.a. the Business Bully, breaks down how local elections directly impact your wallet, emphasizing that “if you’re not voting local, you’re letting someone else spend your money.” From spiritual healing to financial empowerment, this episode perfectly blends inspiration and practicality — urging listeners to release the noise, trust God’s plan, and walk boldly in both faith and financial wisdom.

to know. Former President Barack Obama and former Vice President
Kamala Harris held separate rally Saturday, urging Democrats to turn
out for key gubernatorial races in Virginia, New Jersey, as
well as the California redistricting proposition on Tuesday. Meanwhile, President

(02:13):
Trump's political team is pouring millions into boosting Republican turnout
in those same states. Speaking in Norfolk, Virginia, President Obama
told supporters the country's politics are in a pretty dark
place right now, criticizing what he called the White House's
lawlessness and recklessness.

Speaker 1 (02:29):

Speaker 6 (02:30):

Republicans in Congress for the ongoing government shutdown. Fifty two
percent of voters say the GOP is responsible, while forty
two percent blamed Democrats and four percent blame all parties involved.
The poll also found that the share blaming Democrats is
higher than in any shutdown measured by NBC polling over

(02:53):
the past thirty years. The Better Business Bureau is warning
consumers about a new scam called ghost tapping that targets
tap to pay cards and mobile wallets. Scammers use wireless
devices to steal money without ever touching your card. The
Better Business Bureau says these may bump into people in
public places, poses vendors at events, or requests fake donations

(03:17):
to secretly charge much higher amounts. It's ministry Monday, and
Willie May McIvor reminds us the season of giving is
the perfect time to be a cheerful giver, as God
loves those who give joyfully according to two Corinthians nine seven.
A cheerful giver, she explains, to someone who gives from
the heart, not reluctantly or for recognition, but out of

(03:40):
genuine love and gratitude. No matter the amount, she says,
God values the joy and sacrifice behind the gift more
than the size of it. I'm Sybil Wilkes, be informed,
be empowered in good dame, it's good.

Speaker 4 (03:55):

Speaker 8 (05:36):
If you're listening to get up with Erica Campbo faith
Walking right now, Hey man, new Faith walk faith. Get
up well, the people.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
It is time for the faith walk of the day.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
And today I want to read a little scripture for
you that's a good message in it, so don't miss
This is Matthew thirteen fifty three fifty eight. When Jesus
had finished telling these stories and illustrations, he left that
part of the country. He returned to Navareth, his hometown.
When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed
and said, where does he get this wisdom and the
power to do these miracles? Then they scoffed, He's just

(06:13):
a carpenter's son. We know marry his mother, and his
brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas, all his sisters live
right here among us.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Where did he learn all these things?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.
Then Jesus told them a prophet is honored everywhere except
in his own hometown and among his own family, and
so he did only a few miracles there because of
their unbelief. I always love that story because it reminds

(06:45):
me that sometimes the people closest to you can't see you.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
The people closest to you see you.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
As common and regular they can't see what's amazing in you,
in the gift that is in you. And if it
happened to Jesus, don't be shocked and amazed when it
happens to you. Sometimes we get so upset and overwhelmed
at people being people. When God never told us to
trust people, He told us to trust him. He never
told us that our blessings would come from people, they
would come from Him. And sometimes we love our families
and we love the communities that we're in, it we

(07:13):
get so angry and so you make so much space
for the hate in your heart that you can't even
walk in your purpose because you're too busy looking for
who don't like you?

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Who cares. Jesus didn't stop being Jesus because they didn't
know he was Jesus.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
So don't you stop being all that God has called
in place you to be, just because people around you
don't believe it. Maybe it's never their position to believe
in the first place. Do we want family to be
our cheerleaders. Absolutely, but guess what, y'all, they got their
own things. They don't believe. Sometimes they don't believe in themselves.
So if they don't believe in themselves. Of course they can't.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Believe in you.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
That's not everybody's story. But that's this story in this scripture.
And if he left it in his word, he left
it for a reason for us to learn from it,
for us to see it and understand and have a
little comfort in your heart to know if this happened
to Jesus, then it just might happen to me too. Listen,
the way I go out in the world and people
screaming cheer is not the way my family does. They

(08:04):
love me. My family loves me, they're proud of me.
I'm well aware of that, but they don't act the
way a person who just knows me for my music does.
It's a difference, right, And so when you know that,
you get that settled in your heart and you don't
let the enemy whisper lies to you. This is what
I ask somebody the other day, who is talking to you?
Is Heaven talking to you or Hell talking to you?
When somebody's telling you everything bad that they did. I

(08:27):
don't think Heaven talks like that. And the angels don't
whisper in my ear.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Girl, you better watch out because they gonna.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
H oh Heaven don't talk like that.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
That's them good demons that you let whisper in your ear.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Girl, you got to look out for yourself because you
know how people be acting. They don't even support you.
Who are you letting talk to you? Who are you
allowing in your ear space?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
I reject them?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
If you can all them negative thoughts, I will say
of myself what God says about me.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
And even though there are some people who will walk
in unbelief and they don't have to believe.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I'm a sign to who I'm assigned to, You're a
signed to who you were assigned to. And sometimes, unfortunately
it ain't.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
The people that you grew up with.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
It ain't your cousins and them, as much as you
wanted to be your cousins and them. They may not
follow you on Facebook. Guess what you still called. They
may not come to your your show. They may not
buy your book you still called. They may not buy
your product and come buy your cupcakes at your store
that you just opened. Guess what You're still called and
chosen walk in that. Don't let the spirit of rejection
sit in your lap. The Bible says he couldn't do

(09:28):
many miracles there because they didn't believe. If they don't believe,
they won't benefit from the beauty and the blessing of
all that you will become.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Just be who you are, walking your divine purpose and authority.
Get them people, they can't get blessed cause they don't believed.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Okay, that's the faith walk of the day. I love

That's Chicago Mass Choir right here on Get Up Mornings.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
And y'all it is time for our weekend and review.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Well, this past weekend I did my last installation of
the second Last Cry Heel conference.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
That was absolutely amazing. We were in Chicago at the
Progressive Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie Dates, who was absolutely amazing.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Their staff was wonderful with our church. I had all
my guests there. We had Leona Bird, Myles, Sybil of
Moody Love, McPherson who's from Chicago, Tar Jenkins who's from Chicago,
Google Atkins and had such a good time. Pastor Kimberly
Ray opened in prayer and when I tell you, she
set that thing off and the presence of God was

(15:07):
in the building.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
It was so.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Wonderful to see the women just so receptive. Some of
the amazing First Ladies, Ministry mates, beautiful people came out.
A big shout out to WYCA and Chicago one O
two three who hosted me on Friday and allowed me
to sit in in the afternoon show with Norris.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
That was a good time. And then I came home
and my husband said, Erica, why don't you preach on
Sunday morning? I said, both services?

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Okay, But luckily I was ready and prepared and was
able to be a blessing to my church. God is
so good. I came straight home, ate a meal and
went to sleep. Good enough, but I'm here. It was
a great, great weekend. I'm grateful to God that he
wrapped it up with such a sweet boat on the
entire event and I can't wait to do it again.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
How was George griff.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Well, you know, I was going through uh respiratory walking, pneumonia,
blah blah blah coming off the cruise and just had
all the cooties, all of them at once. And then
on Saturday, I actually hosted a night with Cecily Willbourne.

(16:15):
Cecily William Wilbourne is one of them Southern soul people.
So I got to wear my cowboy hat and some
boots and some jeans. It was amazing. She is a star.
But more than that, he was at the legendary ah
trim My Memorial Drive in Atlanta and she brought everybody out.
Our guy Q Parker, one of the founding members of

(16:36):
One twelve taate Cheesy DJ Jamon Jay, who was just
on a fantastic voyage with me Caajia eighty meals. But
Cecily Willbourne is from Marianna, Arkansas, and I mean, I'm
just a fan of this young lady. She had it
together and I love this genre. But the h Trim,

(16:58):
he the ah Trim is a legendary venue in the
A and mister b, mister Bradley, rest in peace.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
But I got to see his son Terry Bird area.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
That was the first venue I performed at in maybe
nineteen ninety seven in Atlanta, the ah Trium, and it's
still there, and it just reminded me of Wanda Smith
the whole time I was there, so just talking to
the owner and I had a great time.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Then left there.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
The Dodgers won the World Series and the Raiders lost,
So I had a good weekend.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
How about there in that order, even with the Raiders losing.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Even with the Raiders losing, I had a great weekend
because Michigan won on Saturday. I'm not gonna let them
break my heart up.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
No, it's November, basically your heart should be broke.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Right, I'm good. I'm gonna keep my joint Raiders. You
ain't gonna do me like that all season.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
No, I got. I got one more bit of good news.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Myna, My niece Mela got filled with the Holy Spirit
this weekend. She said on Friday she was praying, Lord, please,
I need an experience with you. She wants to a
delivery service. On Friday she had a good encounter. She
just so happy. Our family is too thrilled, y'all. Teenagers
still getting filled with the Holy Ghost stick.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Aroun Get up money you're listening to Get up.

Speaker 14 (18:21):
This is Jim Drops with a Terasar Wickfield, brought to
you by the Dear Future WiFi podcast. On Jim Drops,
I cut relationship truths with precision and give you clarity
in under sixty seconds. Today's Jim. Forgiveness is not the
same as access. Yes, God said forgive, but he didn't
say forget who they revealed themselves to be. You can
forgive and still block them. You can release the weight

(18:44):
and still protect your space. Forgiveness freeze your heart. Access
protects your peace. Some people want grace with no growth.
They apologize with no accountability and expect you to play pretend.
Let me make it clear. Forgiveness is divine. Access is discernment.
Now let me.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
See you shine.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
There you go.

Speaker 14 (19:07):
Don't stop on one gym, grab the whole treasure chest
on the Dear Future Wifey podcasts available Everywhere podcast or
How We're a by the Urban One podcast Network.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Real Ericas of.

Speaker 8 (19:19):
The Day or Get Up Mornings with Erica Cable.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Yes, it is time for the erica Ism of the Day,
and y'all listen.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
I love when God does amazing things.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
You know, people love to talk about what's not happening,
and whenever they say no one's doing such and such
and such, I always ask them, have you talked to
everybody in the world or is that just in your circle?
So you should probably put that on the front of
your statement in my circle, nobody's doing such and such,
and then follow it up by I'm sure there's somebody

(19:49):
in the world doing this.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Maybe I just don't know, Maybe I just don't see.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
That statement alone allows me to have hope when there's
things that I haven't seen that I want to see,
because if I trust it, God is in control and
it's something that God wants in the earth, there's somebody
doing it.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Maybe I just don't know.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
And so I pray we illuminate our voices as we
become the ones that spreads the message of how believers
are and how Christians are, you know, all these crazy
titles of what Christians and Christian, this kind of Christian
and that kind of Christian. I just want to be
the regular kind that serve Jesus, like in the Bible days,
because they didn't actually call themselves Christians in the Bible,
they just follow Jesus.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
They were followers of Jesus. So let's be followers of Jesus,
and let's be bold about it. And then let's realize that
there are some churches that have therapy.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
There are some churches that are feeding young people. There
are some pastors that are good and loving their wives
and not stealing the money of the church. There are
some praise and worship leaders that really really love the
Lord and really really just want to see God glorified.
Stop saying what doesn't exist in the church. Yes, there
are men groups that love the younger men and that
are nurturing and are spending time. Yes, there are women

(20:54):
in the church who are not jealous of the other
women and are building healthy community and talking about mental health, health,
sex and sexuality, being a woman, what it means to
submit and surrender to your husband. Yes, there are some
people talking about it just because you have not seen it.
Don't let the enemy use that to tell you God
can't do what he said he would do, that we

(21:15):
were called.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
To do and we're actually doing. But guess what, y'all,
Good news don't spread very fast.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Bad news does, though. Bad news does, and so let's
stop perpetuating that. Let's stop being the ones that spread
and repost and reshare all the negative news. Let's share
when someone gets filled with the Holy Spirit, like my
niece did this weekend, who's eighteen years old, and prayed
for it, and God answered her prayer, and watching her
just pour her hout on and say, God, you heard me,

(21:42):
You heard me, you heard me, you were listening to me.
It was the most beautiful thing because every time she
said you heard me, her mind had to hear that,
her soul had to hear that. And so anytime the
enemy comes back after that day to tell her Jesus
ain't real, She's gonna go, oh, yes.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
He is, because I remember that time and he hurt me.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
That's how you testify to yourself, That's how you testify
to others. And guess what we spread faith why because
we encourage people to know that there are people doing.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
The thing that we say we want people to do.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
So what I want us to do is stop perpetuating
the bad news.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Start telling the good news.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
That there are fathers who stay home and love their kids,
that there are people getting married at a young age
and old age and staying married. Everybody getting divorced.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
No, they're not.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
That's just what you're saying. And guess what the enemy
holds onto that lie and replace it in your head.
And then you can't get to truth because you keep
regurgitating what the devil did as opposed to what God said.
And I said this to somebody over the weekend. Y'all
love letting Heaven pay for what Hell did. Once the
enemy stole something from you, go get it back and

Erica was go to a bowling alley that was around
the corner from the crib, not even four minutes and

some friends.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
So our neighbors came.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
And that's you know what I'm saying, Like, she's such
an easy day. Thank you Lord for she don't want
to purse, she don't want, no person, she don't want anyway.
Thank you for my little bowling alley, my thirty one
dollar date all the time. But the whole neighborhood is
swarming with kids going door to door trigger treating. Right

(25:52):
and then and of course my door got the camera
on and we we'll well, we was leaving Last year,
I put a note on doors say hey kids, it
is my wife's birthday.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Is either y'all or her and I gotta stay married.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
But this year I ain't put a sign and I
forgot to get the candy. I wasn't feeling well last week,
so some kids came to the door and I literally
had three eminems on my table that was supposed to
be mine. I was gonna eat and I just it
was five of them, and I gave them three, and
they was like, I think y'all had to figure it out.

(26:23):
I mean, happy birthday to my wife. So now I
know somebody that car right now saying I wish my
wife only wanted to go boulevard birthday.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
I know you get saying y'all.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Right, somebody else saying, wait, man, you had three m
and ms but only gave it to five. Yeah, I
told her thirty four is the shutdown. It's the shutdown Halloween.
How about that? You get to saying, yard, But if
you like me, and you know, man, I had a
good time bowling and beat everybody bowling. But with a
score one on one, I could just say eighty now

(26:59):
Erica one on one sound like a lot, But bowling
go to three hunding. So with one oh one being
my average, no bowler wants me on the team ever
like ever, but if we was all sorry and horrible and.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Gutter bawling, and but I barely would. But hey, come on,

plus Dave Anderson the Business Bully, our finance expert. He's

Speaker 1 (29:29):
I shall remember the lords I go.

Speaker 13 (29:31):
It is he that give us the power to get well.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
It's Money Monday, and we're talking with our financial expert,
Dave Anderson, the Business Bully Day.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Welcome back to Get Up Mornings, Big hommie, listen Dave.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Tomorrow is election day, and while everybody's glued to the
national headlines, we've got local and state seats on the
ballot too. So let's break it down from a financial perspective.
Why do these races matter?

Speaker 7 (30:01):
Because your local elections hit your wallet first, though. The
folks that are on the ballot decide your tax it's
your rent, your roads, your other business opportunities. And if
your neighborhood is crumbling, it don't look good. It's starting
to stake around there and your bills keep going up.
That has nothing to do with DC. That is a
zip code decision.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Wooh, that's great information. So it's local leadership that really
drives the dollars right.

Speaker 7 (30:25):
Absolutely, It's not about left or right, it's about profit
or loss. So these local lawmakers, they shape your economy,
they shape your schools, they shape your streets. And if
you're not voting in these local elections, you're telling somebody else,
you know what, take my money and do whatever you'd
like with it. So tomorrow, don't just talk.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Power, use it.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Yes, And so how do we want to make sure
that people do their research to find out who's there,
because sometimes people don't do it because they literally don't
know their local policies exactly.

Speaker 7 (30:52):
No, And I tell you the main thing we've got
to get over is whether somebody is popular. This is
in high school. We're not talking about the homecoming king
or the prompt please. We're talking about people who are
supposed to be representing you. This is about a representative government.
I don't care who has the best sound bites. I
don't care who looks the best. I care about what
their policies are. We got to start looking at policies.

(31:15):
It's not just you know, you know, let's let the
rivers run red or vote blue, no matter who. It
is about forward motion and what is going to impact
your family. We've got to start thinking strategically. Also, one
more thing, you need to make sure that you are
understanding that every single election has campaigns, and those campaigns

(31:35):
need to be funded. And if you or your group
or your church who gets together and you say, listen,
this particular church is going to donate this amount of money.
We need these things to happen in our communities. Little
billity needs better books, or whatever the case may be.
They are going to do it because money talks.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
The ballot is.

Speaker 7 (31:52):
Extremely important, but the money aspects, we got to start
putting some finance behind the candidates in order to make
the change. If you don't like where your neighborhood looks,
don't just run to the ballots, run to the bank
and cut the check.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
All right, we got the information, Griffy. A question for
our guest.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
No, I just want to ask the business bully. What's
your final takeaway for listeners before people start hitting these poles?

Speaker 7 (32:15):
Hommy, well, listen, my final takeaway is vote smart, vote local,
protect your paycheck. Election day isn't about politics, It's about prosperity.
And if you're serious about building up and owning your future,
you grab my book, The Real Black Agenda at the

speakers on the planet. My good friend Les Brown said
something that was so powerful. He said that if you
want to achieve great things, you must dream big dreams
and then make a commitment to make those dreams a reality.
Then you must add hope, because hope in the future
will give you power in the present. Today, I want
to encourage you to dream big dreams and then stay

(33:59):
in home and go to work and make that dream
into a reality. Remember that whole is critical for your
long term success, So stay hopeful. This is doctor Willie Jolly.

Speaker 7 (34:55):
I didn't expect it.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Get a goole is off. Yes it is, y'all.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
And listen, yesterday was daylight Savings Time and we actually
gained in our So did you take advantage.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Of that hour sleep?

Speaker 2 (35:08):
I totally missed it because I'm always sleepy, so I
don't know. It was like, oh gosh, I got enough,
So I just it just kind of made it like
a little bit more sleep than I usually get. So
I missed the whole thing. But did you make church
on time where you're still late?

Speaker 7 (35:23):
Did you?

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Did it catch you off guard? Grip? How do you
feel about daylight Saving Time?

Speaker 9 (35:28):
Overall?

Speaker 3 (35:29):
I'm not a fan.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
That's number one, and and and you know, me and
Erica are what's the word, what's the word? The people
that be We believe. We just said we believe. We
think they messing with the.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Yeah, yeah, we already.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
So the daylight saving time, I don't I don't know
whose trick there was, but overall, I know this, I
gotta change the time on refrigerator, the stove, the microwave,
everything else changed by itself. I'm surprised, but my alarm
clock actually changed.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
But no, no it didn't.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
So it was weird because I was sleep on the
couch and then I woke up and I was but
I woke up in one thirty five and I was like,
is this the real one thirty five for the little
fake fake? So yeah, I don't know. I never spring
forward fall back?

Speaker 3 (36:22):
What's that mean?

Speaker 4 (36:24):
I'm fifty four and still be like, so, do that
means we go go back?

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Spring forward falls back?

Speaker 3 (36:31):
I don't understand it. Yeah, but I don't. I don't
get it.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
What the what? What are we doing this for? Why
are we taking more of the daytime?

Speaker 4 (36:38):
And the how about in the government shut down and that?

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Yeah, and daylight saving times at the same time.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Same time? Let us live our life.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Jeez, well, we want to know what do you feel
about daylight saving time? It is not my summertime. Summertime.
I like the sunshine longer. I think that's cool, but
I hate that it gets darker earlier at the end
this fall time like eight.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
Seven seven two for two two four two six? Are
we the only ones that don't like it? Y'all? Call us?
Do you like daylight saving time? You'd be like, oh, yes,
fall forward? Like what do you fall back?

Speaker 4 (37:15):
Like?

Speaker 1 (37:16):
What do you do? Eight seven seven two point two
two for six?

Speaker 4 (37:19):
What is a point somebody fitting why though, so just
say it's getting darker now.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
I mean, but give it's a call. We want to
know what you think. We're clearly flush frustrated.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Help us eight seven seven two for two two four
two six. How do you feel about daylight saving time?

Speaker 8 (37:39):
If you're listening to Get up Erica Camp, you've heard
from US.

Speaker 7 (37:44):
I'm excited because I got through and I.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Get people.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
It's time for the get up falling today we are
talking about daylight savings time. So we gained an hour
this weekend apparently. But the way my sleeping, my life
is set.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
Up, when you say gain an hour, I just want
you to so now we got twenty five hours in
the day.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
That's how I feel like that.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Okay, calm down, you're so frustrated. Take a deep breath. Okay.

Speaker 4 (38:10):
So, according to Google, daylight saving time really primarily was
made to conserve energy. It was enacted by the US
government during World War One to save few and then
it was reinstituted during World War two again and during
the nineteen seventies oil crisis to conserve energy.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Okay, well see that's what it's for. Grip. Yeah, but
that's just a frustrating, right, he's just a frustrating It's fun.
I just know that we got more night than day.
That's what it all feels like.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
How about that. How about at a game?

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Now the games come on the East Coast on football
games at one o'clock and four o'clock.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
At four fifty, it was all the way dark, right
with you? Right? No, that is crazy, weird, weird, crazy.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Especially when in the summertime it literally in La does
not get dark though sometimes.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Eight forty five, y'all.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
That we get a lot of daytime, which you know
allows me to be more productive. So for me, because
I have radio, when I see the sun going down,
I go, oh, I gotta go to bed, like immediately.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
It does.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
You know, I can't play no games because I have
to get up so early. So it does something else
for my heart than I do just for everybody. It
should call me down and get me settled.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
But when I see the sun going down.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
I'm trying to scramble and get as much as I can.
But we want to know what the get up church
has to say. Uh yeah, but we want to know
what the get up church has to say.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Grip, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
I still, we got to figure this out because we
can't be frustrated. It's a thing unless we're gonna change
your ows. But we can do that too well.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
It also says the However, the energy saving benefits are
now considered questionable in modern arguments for keeping it, including
extending daylight in the evening for activities, while opponent's site
negative health effects and safety concerns.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
So I mean, you know you joke. Okay, we need
some help. Get up church. Let's talk to Shanda and Jacksonville. Hey, Shanda,
how do you feel about daylight saving time?

Speaker 3 (40:20):
And what? Shout out to your jaguars for beating up
on my writer.

Speaker 11 (40:25):
I absolutely love this time of the year. This is
a great opportunity for things to slow down, especially after
you had a business dump summer. And I've also believe
that it's like God being intentional, like you've been working,
you've been moving. Now I needed to slow things down
and it forces us to. However, when it's time for
the time to change back again, I'm not in agreement
on that because studies shows that people are not as

(40:47):
productive when they lose the hour, but having this extra hour,
I think we're much more productive. Fan Hey, I love
it all right?

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Well, thanks you my attack.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
But things change, but do they?

Speaker 4 (40:58):
I still gotta wake god, I gotta do shows, and
I don't get it.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
I don't understand side.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
But thank you for calling Sean to have a good one.

Speaker 11 (41:07):
You did the same.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Thank you, Carl. And Atlanta's on the line.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Hey Carl, how do you feel about daylight savings time?

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Hey Carl in Atlanta? How do you feel about daylight
savings time?

Speaker 16 (41:16):
Uh? It doesn't bother me. But the thing is, like
yesterday morning, I woke up. I thought I was running
late for church, and I'm talking about it. I would
running through the house then and I pick up my
phone and I said, Louisah, I think I'm all.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
I love it, Carl, Well, thank you go ahead.

Speaker 16 (41:36):
Yes, I just want to add to what what what?

Speaker 7 (41:39):
What? What?

Speaker 10 (41:39):
What?

Speaker 16 (41:40):
Grip was saying about you able to understand spring for
it or fall back? Spring fort it is you you
go up.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
An hour and no, no, no, no no, I understand it,
But what is it for? Like I all the way
understand put your clocks. If it was sick, you making seven,
and the other time, if it was sick, you make
it five.

Speaker 3 (42:00):
I get what we do. We've been doing it since
we was kids. But why thu r? That's our pride part.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
But thank you for calling, Carl. I wish we had.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
More time than we're trying to take some more calls.

Speaker 16 (42:12):
Rich where to go with that?

Speaker 10 (42:13):
Off?

Speaker 2 (42:13):
That's okay, all right, bye bye.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
Point telling us what to do? Leave me alone?

Speaker 1 (42:18):
All right, that's what you don't like.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
Yeah, all right, performers, part of me, make me.

Speaker 16 (42:26):
Work.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Tell the Lord want to work on your heart because
that that's an attitude for no reason.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
Why you don't like it either? What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (42:33):
But you like?

Speaker 3 (42:34):
Right now?

Speaker 1 (42:34):
How rolls up? You are to take it to the
truck of today. Okay, you're about this. You have to
blow a gas saving time right now.

Speaker 8 (42:42):
That's telling me what to get up.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Good morning, Good morning to get people. Let's get up.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
Morning's America can be loving Jesus in loving you on
a marvelous Monday. No, remember the third. It is one
minute past the top of the hour. For those of
you at work already, take a deep breath. Thank you
for listening. We got some good stuff for you. Just chill,
don't fight nobody, don't hurt nobody. It's gonna be a
great day. Grip, how are you feeling this morning?

Speaker 4 (43:12):
I'm laughing because y'all gotta understand what she say, don't
fight nobody.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
It's really what did your nephew used to say?

Speaker 1 (43:18):
I don't want to tell on my nephew was.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
Now did I say, I ain't gonna bite nobody.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
I'm not gonna bite nobody. I'm not gonna fight nobody.
I'm not gonna pinch nobody.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
And that's when he wanted to be good at church
that day. Listen, y'all, We've got the love talk and
Grip's got the trending topic.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
Since Cheryl is on vacation. Music from Tasha.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
Cobbs, Leonard, Tim Bowman Junior and Casey j Here is
t I Young, Joe Kirk Franklin and the Sunday Service
Choir with thank God, I'm get up on it.

Speaker 8 (43:50):
Let's talk about love for God, so love the world.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
Love.

Speaker 1 (43:59):
Yes, it is time for the love talk of the day.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
And yesterday I spoke at my church and had a
great time just sharing with the people. But I started
by just really laying it on fit, just loving all
my husband. Probably I do know that we have a
lot of young people that have misconceptions of love. We've
quite a few divorced people, you know, Like every church,
you have a mix and a hodgepodge of it all.

(44:21):
And so sometimes I'm very intentional about how I love
my husband out loud so they can see a good
example of what it looks like. Proud to say, We've
got some healthy couples that are church that I'm grateful for.
And I think as we live our love out loud,
it allows.

Speaker 1 (44:35):
Other people to see what it looks like.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
Some people didn't grow up with it or saw the
unhealthy version of it. And so when you allow your
relationship to speak loud, when you're not intimidated by hurting
somebody's feelings with how good your relationship is, then you
allow them to see that God is faithful, faithful. What
I do tell them at my church is we are
not a perfect couple. We'dn't been through hell and high
water just like everybody else. We just fought through it

(44:59):
and God allowed it to hold on. And I think
every time you tell those encouraging stories, it allows someone
to see that God is able. You see them live
out walking through difficult times, kids, growing up, career, changes, money,
changes all those things. You knowsion, my relationship has has
had so many seasons, you know, the new one, the
music one, the tough one, you know, warrened being in

(45:21):
New York working for record companies and I'm in la
and six months apart, just all those things, and then
making it through it kids, Church, these new versions of
who we are.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
You have to adapt.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
You have to love into the new season, not get
so married to the old one. There's so many things
to learn, and so I'm just glad to be able
to share that. And so for those of you who
want to be in love and you don't have a
full view, ask God to help you see someone in
all the seasons of it so you can get a
good perspective, because sometimes you want it but you don't
really know what it is. And that's what it is

(45:54):
with marriage. You don't really know what it is until
you get into it. But being able to see someone
live it out loud as a total blessing and it
is an honor and a privilege. Kind of scary sometimes,
yes it is, But if God gives you that privilege,
then I believe that He'll hold you together. You don't
have to be afraid of divorce or following, or what
people will think because the people are in your mirror, say,
just watching it, it's still yours to having to hold

(46:14):
death to us part. All right, y'all, that's the love
talk of the day.
