Speaker 7 (03:18):
Care Act became a fight about race and power as
critics of the nation's first black president redirected their attacks
toward his signature law. What began as policy debate turned
into a backlash against mister Obama himself. Advocates like Daniel
Dawes emphasized the ACA's impact, calling it the most comprehensive
(03:40):
minority health law in US history, with dozens of provisions
addressing inequities. Consumer Reports ranked thirty one car manufacturers for
twenty twenty six based on road test, safety, reliability, and
onerous satisfaction. The top five brands for next year in
ascending order Subaru, BMW, Porsche, Honda.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
And Toyota.

performance for new car shoppers. From our Good News file.
New Orleans native Courtney Kelly originally dreamed of becoming a veterinarian,
but Hurricane Katrina inspired her to pursue engineering to help
rebuild communities. She built a successful career as a licensed
(04:28):
professional engineer, working on major infrastructure projects and teaching at SMU.
Kelly later followed a new purpose storytelling, founding Courtney Kelly
Books to empower black girls and other children. Of color
to see themselves as innovators in stem good news. Indeed,
I'm Sybil Wilks, be informed, be empowered.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
In bridday, it's good. Kill up sports minute. I'm not
happy about this report.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
More.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
The head coach of the University of Michigan's football team
was fired yesterday with for having an inappropriate relationship with
his staff member. It's part of the school's policy and
it was part of his contract.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
They had credible evidence.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
They've been saying, allegedly that they've been you know, the
school's been looking at this for the last week. They
fired him and allegedly he just checked out. The dude
flashed on the lady a school. Then he went home,
told his wife he was gonna kill himself. Then he
went to the other lady house with a knife to
(05:40):
his neck, said I'm gonna kill myself.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Then he said I'm gonna kill you.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
Then he left her house, went to a church where
the police founting because his wife had his location on
her phone, and.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
He is now in custody.

coaster birthday shout outs. In fifteen minutes, I'll get them.
Mornings with Erica Campbell.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
If you're listening, to get up with Erica camb Faith walking.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Right now, hey man, faith walk.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day,
and listen. Today I want to talk about the pure hearts.
You know, people with genuine intention, People who are not
grumpy while they do the work.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
People who are not complaining while they do the work.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
People who come just in hopes that God would get glory,
not to be seen, not to be acknowledged, not for
a better position, not for financial gain, but literally come
with a pure heart.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
God loves pure heart.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Matthew five and eight is blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God right, and then two Timothy
two and twenty two says, so plea youthful passions and
pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who
call on the Lord from a pure heart. Get them God,
that ain't a pure heart. That means you want God
(07:35):
beat up one of your other kids for me. And
I know, men, if you pray those kind of prayers,
and I'm not judging you because I've had my times
or I feel like.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
Lord, can you just like pinch them a little bit.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
But when I realize that God fights better than me,
I don't have to fight a battle, and I don't
have to tell him to fight a battle. I just
have to keep my heart straight. Lord, don't let hate
or anger reside in my heart. Lord, don't let the
spirit of offense right in my heart where I always
recognize somebody doing wrong.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
Check your heart. God is after your.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Heart right, and when he is after your heart, he
has everything else.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
When God has your heart, you trust him, and so.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
You relinquish things a little fear because you know that
He's going to take good care of you. You know
when the enemy tells you, I can't do this because
I may lose dot dot die for me. It doesn't
matter what I lose. He gave it to me in
the first place, He'll give it back to me. Let's
make sure our heart is for God.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
And I know.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Sometimes we see people and we look on the outside
and we go, oh, they're blessed because they have whatever
it is you see that they have right And while
I am blessed to be married and have kids and
have a good job, even without that, I'm blessed. Even
before I had that, I was blessed. I'm blessed because
I'm His. You're blessed because you're His, You're called, You're chosen,
your loved, with or without the things that you think
(08:43):
are indicators of you being loved by God. So shift
your heart so the enemy doesn't manipulate you. When you
don't really see yourself as blessed, then you try to
manipulate your way into a blessing, you know what I mean?
And is it really a blessing if you had to
manipulate your way into it. I pray for pure heart
among us. I pray for pure hearts. Listen, it's Christmas
(09:03):
time coming. Some people are buying gifts because of what
they want to get. Some people are buying gifts because
they don't want to get in trouble, because I don't
want to be fussed at.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
I just wanted to be from a pure place.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
You know, when you.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Greet people, when you meet people, oh they may be
my friend. Ah. It works in some stayses, you know,
and for work. Yeah, you know, things are transactional. But
when you say you love someone, it should not be transactional.
Well I called you four times and you called me
two times. Well I called you. That's so much pressure
when you count. Let me count how much I count
the ways that you love me. I know you love me.
(09:34):
Let me count the ways. Well, if those ways change,
you not love me anymore. So you can't base it
on that, you know, it has to be on something.
We're just because you genuinely loved them. When I told
Warren I loved them for the first time, he hadn't
told me, he hadn't proposed we were just dating. It
was what I wanted to say, and I was well
aware that he may not say it in return because
he was a few years younger than me. Right, And
(09:54):
how I felt was how I felt, And I felt
comfortable enough to say it no matter what came on
the other side.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
He said it a little slow, but he said it.
You know, so it's dangerous.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
But you have to be willing to be honest about
how you feel, to just say it, not based on
what they may respond. This way, you can't control how
people are gonna respond. Just know that you are doing
what you're doing from a good place, from your heart,
a pure heart.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
All right.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
That is my faith walk for the day. Ladies and gentlemen,

Speaker 1 (19:54):
I'll tell you now. Don't worry about it. Oh my hand,

Speaker 6 (20:46):
Where you going? Where are you going? Nowhere? Told him?
Speaker 1 (20:54):
And later.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Man and even people all of a sudden, Yeah, sleepy
sit talking about pregnant.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
When I tell you pregnant?
Speaker 18 (21:07):
Now, you ain't fear not take them to the Mary,
thy wife, For that which is conceived in her is
of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth the sun,
and thou shalt call his name Jesus. He shall save
his people from their sins.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yeah, I hate this, nap angels and everybody's dreams.
Speaker 19 (21:33):
This week, will Mary and Joseph finally get it together?
Will Mary be ready to bring forth the reason for
the season. Stay tuned, true believers for part two of
Mary and Joseph's true Hollywood Bible story.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
So good, it's definitely a saga, right, I love it.
I actually watched a special on the ABC and they
were talking about how they were teenagers and how he
covered her and protected her because you could be stoned. Yeah,
you know what I mean, in that time, if you
end that time and that time so listen, guys, there
(22:14):
are more parts, so that means you got to keep
listening to find out what happens next. Read your word
all right, and make sure you know what's going on
in this story. I don't just look at the Nativity scene,
don't even get into the scripture and read the Word
of God and celebrate this season rights Get up mornings, y'all.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Stick around.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
It's more on the way.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
If you're listening to Get Up Eric camp.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Of the Day or Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbo.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
You know one thing about me, I'm gonna be honest
with myself. When I wrote I know who I am
and I Know who I'm not is a real sentiment
that I tell myself.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
I'm honest with what I can and cannot handle. Who
I am and who I'm not.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I don't allow people to dictate who they think I
am by them watching me, and that is the good
or the bad. So I don't get over inflated with
the compliments. But I also don't let myself get taken
down to the bottom just because somebody don't believe in
who I am and what God has called me to be.
Speaker 6 (23:18):
It takes a lot of prayer and time with the Lord.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Because if you really are spending time with the Lord,
you will be humbled at his goodness and graciousness and
his kindness, especially when God has blessed you.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
And blessings is not just money, guys, I want us
to get that out of our head. Oh they're married,
they're blessed, they got a house, they're blessed. Listen, people
be married in a house and ready to take theirself
out of here.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
You hear me.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Blessing is having the peace of God in my heart.
Blessing is knowing how to repent and forgive. Blessing is
being humble enough to walk through a storm and still
hold God's hand tightly. And so I thank God for
knowing that God will carry me and cover me. But
I also thank God for the wisdom to recognize when
it's time to speak up for myself, you know, because
sometimes I have to do that. I am processing through
(24:02):
some things that we have to do for my church.
And you know, sometimes you're on these text chains, and
text and tone don't always come through with the real intent,
and it is easy to go off on somebody because
you read it, you read it in the mad voice. Yeah,
I always tell people read this in love, read this
saying Erica loves me, and read it and then go right.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
And so I didn't do that yesterday, y'all.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
And I I almost almost almost.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Oh send a message that I did not need to send.
But I know myself and I know that sometimes I
can read things.
Speaker 6 (24:39):
With the wrong tone. So I stopped.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I took a beat, and then I made a phone
call to hear the voice that I needed to hear,
and it was not what I thought, and I was
so so grateful. I was ready to talk to the
pastor and go, you know what, I can't do this.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I'm not doing it.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
And you know, there's something that I was supposed to
go on.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
They were trying to change the date two days before,
which means we have to gather the women change you know,
it would just complicate things. And it was literally because
one of the people couldn't be there. And I don't
believe in changing a big event for one person, even
if it's me. If they intend to come and they're
going to be blessed, if put somebody in place so
it can still go. So the first message that we
(25:17):
got to change this because I want to do it
on another day y'all.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
I was on team, but I.
Speaker 5 (25:21):
Know myself, so I said, let me calm down.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
We had a conversation and she was like, no.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
No, no, I didn't mean that I want to do it,
but I know that we can't change it.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
So I was like, oh, I'm glad I made the
phone call.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
So I just love how taking it to Jesus allowed
me to give a better answer, you know, taking myself
down first. You know, I don't care. First, lady, over
amidst several ministries, I don't care. You still have to
check yourself because sometimes you will respond wrong aboutely and
so I thank God that we got it together. We
will make some adjustments, but the event will still happen,
(25:56):
and I ain't go off on nobody praise a.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Ain't that gross?
Speaker 6 (26:01):
So I'm very very grateful that is my er.
Speaker 5 (26:04):
Let's let's take a second look before we go off.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Let's take a second read before we respond to defend
ourselves or get Let's just kind of pause first, because
sometimes the enemy will cause you to respond out of
your anger. And it didn't even require all of that.
It was literally a misunderstanding. So I'm grateful for that.
I love y'all, and I mean it, and I hope
me sharing my testimonies on how I'll be about.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
To jack stuff up. Bless us y'all. It's for the
glory of God, good people, so stick around.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
We've got the joys and concerns up next on get
Up mornings.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
If you're listening to get up, let the church say Amen.

(28:17):
I'm just saying, but you know what, I realized, I'm
in the wrong capitol.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
The capital of the country is Washington, DC, and it
is gonna be thirty degrees and thirty one for the
next two days. Now the capitol where I'm from, from
the good state of Georgia, Atlanta, gonna be sixty three
and sixty for degrees. What does that mean to the
people listening in the DMV, which is the DC, Maryland
(28:45):
and Virginia.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
It means I'm back to my sandals.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
Yes, da mean uh shorte withoo a hoodie.
Speaker 10 (28:54):
You know.
Speaker 5 (28:55):

no scarf. I don't brow I brought three Maryland manson,

I know, you get saying all right, somebody else saying, yeah, Griff,
that ain't where you want to be. I don't want
to be here, but also would not like to be here.
You get saying, all right. But if you're like me,
and you know it's so good, wholesome weather waiting for
me at to.
Speaker 1 (29:37):

You've got a new song, wishing you a Merry Christmas.
Why don't you introduce it and then we'll come back
and talk more about it.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Sounds good.
Speaker 20 (32:29):
You know, Christmas is my favorite time of the year,
even though when we were young we didn't get no toys,
but it's my favorite time and this song is just
one that uplifts you.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
So enjoy wishing you a Merry Christmas. Get up.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
That's bb one is with wishing you a Merry Christmas,
his new Christmas single from the Christmas movie We Three Kings.
All right, mister actor, tell us this is part of
the soundtrack.
Speaker 20 (33:13):
Sister actress, Yes, it's uh it is.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
I had a wonderful time. I really really.
Speaker 20 (33:22):
I was afraid to do any acting and so I
would pass and here and there, I would say yes,
but when this Christmas movie came, I said yes with excitement,
and so I wrote it for the movie.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
And I'm enjoying acting. How about you, sister, Ericle, I am.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
My movie comes out next year, but we talk about you, sir,
and listen. I guess it's in your family because your
sister was in a movie as well.
Speaker 20 (33:47):
Debbie, yes, Christmas, and we're not surprising. Debbie has really
been an actress all her life. So really, you're gonna
get paid for it now.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Funny, that's funny.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
You know, you know, you always have music that crosses genres.
You were just being shared on the CMA Country Music
with Susan Tadeshi and Derek Truck singing Shu Go where
I Send the.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Was that experience?
Speaker 3 (34:14):
How how tell us about crossing genres and doing all
the things you do?
Speaker 20 (34:18):
Well, I, you know, I just I've always thought it
was important no matter where people are, fast where your
ministry is, you know, and to go across here, closing
the highways and the byways, and so, you know, living
in Nashville, you meet, you know, wonderful country artists. So
I've been friends of a lot of country artists. At
the same time, I think we're where. We're good music.
(34:40):
You know, you grab a song that touches your heart,
and I believe it'll go in and everywhere and touch
everyone's time to whether they believe what we believe or not.
And so it's important and I had a great time.
I had a great time. That song I sang, we
Are the Reasons. It's thirty years old by an artist
named David So it was one of my favorites.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
Yeah, baby, I was with but Sean Mitchell at any
event in Saint Louis, and he was meeting you the
next day to do an.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Event, and he was saying, I got to get in.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
Bbie wants me to come here early because you don't
play that late thing. And it should work ethic, it should.
I mean, you run a million miles a week. You're
just getting off the peloton. Do you teach your music
and everything the same way?
Speaker 4 (35:28):
Oh? Yes? From the good go. I just felt this
and this is just simple. I felt that God gave
me his best. All I could do is turn around
and give him my best and the talents that he's
given us. You know, so our production had to be
on point. The song, the lyric, the layout of the.
Speaker 20 (35:49):
Song had to be on point, you know, And so
that's just the way I believe, and I still believe
that to this day.
Speaker 5 (35:55):
I love it. I love it. Listen, we are so inspired.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
You just keep showing us things to do and how
we can exist in the world as people of faith
that step outside of the boundaries and do amazing things
that bring light to all God has done in and
through you. So we love you so much. What's next?
What should we look forward to from you?
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Well, I tell you what.
Speaker 20 (36:16):
Next year is going to be full of music, full
of new music. Finally going to release release this album
I said I was gonna release like five years ago. Wow,
coming out this year and Korean soul album.
Speaker 6 (36:34):
Is I Love You good by Gosh.
Speaker 20 (36:38):
You know how hard it is these days, but it's
coming out this year mine and a little touring there,
so it's going to be a lot of more baby
than you've seen in a long time.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Well, we like it. We love bb our friend. Thank
you so much for being with us today. Download the music,
stream the music, follow him on social media and maybe
you can catch him live somewhere.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
God bless you, Uncle Bebe. I love you, love me more. Okay, guys,
stick around, it gets better and better. It's Get Up morning.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
If you're listening to Get Up with Erica Cambo, It's
time to wake up and win with Doctor Willie Jolly.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
It's another great day.
Speaker 15 (37:30):
This is doctor Willie Jolly, author of the book A
set Back as a set Up for Comeback and host
of the Willie Jolly Wealthy Ways Podcast. As we celebrate
this wonderful time of the year, I have a special
twelve Days of Christmas program to help you win more
each and every day. On the second day of Christmas,
I want you to share the gift of love. The
parable states love those now who never loved before. Let
(37:51):
those who always love now love the more. To effectively
give gifts, you should give gifts that start with love.
If given without love is paramount to giving water without
it being wet, or fire without it being hot. You
gotta give gifts with love. And if you have no gifts,
then just give love. Cripture teaches us that love bears
(38:13):
all things, believes all things, hopes, all things endures all things.
Love never fails. This Christmas, you cannot fail if you
give the gift of love. This is doctor Willie Jolly.
Go to win with Willy dot com. Win with Willy
dot com for resources to help you and your family
to win more.
Speaker 6 (38:29):
And remember to make the most of.
Speaker 15 (38:31):
Each and every minute because your best is still yet
to come.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
Merry Christmas.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
You've heard from us because I got run off?
Speaker 6 (38:43):
All right, Cheryl? What are we talking about today?
Speaker 5 (38:45):
All right?
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Yesterday, the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanize he welcomed a
world first social media band for children younger than sixteen.
He said this reform will change lives from Australian kids,
allowing them to just have their childhood. They said, Facebook, Instagram, kick, Reddit,
Snapchat threads, TikTok x, YouTube and twitch faces fines up
(39:10):
to forty nine point five million dollars if they failed
to take a reasonable steps to remove the accounts of
Australian children younger than.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Sixteen now as a as an Australian basketball team in
my hotel. Right, And I was, I saw him two
days in the row and didn't ask them the first day.
And now that I think about it, nobody was on
their phone. Yeah, it was like it was a funge
of them. Nobody was on It.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Just went into effect yesterday and and yeah, and they
they've taken measures to find out you know, the ages
of these kids, but.
Speaker 5 (39:46):
There finding out now these kids that was on laptops
and or iPads since.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
They was ten, yeah, or younger.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
Like my grandson he was probably two and three and
couldn't make full sentences before he could find a YouTube
vic but to even contemplate suicide as a fifth grader,
sixth grader because of.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
What handle.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
My kids confessed suicidal.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Thoughts, Kaylas too.
Speaker 5 (40:14):
Yeah, yeah, my daughter comparison and I'll never be good
enough and I'm not this and I'm not my daughter too.
Speaker 6 (40:19):
Yeah, you know, I was like, phones down, let's talk y'all.
Speaker 20 (40:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
So yeah, you know, is this is extreme? Because you
have some people saying, well this is extreme. They can
start at and then you know when you're giving him
the phone because they're three and you don't want to
be bothered, right, can't There's no way, Like I have
a family member who has a YouTube page and he
must be listening on only.
Speaker 6 (40:41):
Rap because I'm watching him.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
I'm going, yo, hey, why is this guy posting this?
Speaker 7 (40:46):
Why?
Speaker 1 (40:47):
Why is what is going on?
Speaker 6 (40:49):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
And because they use it, the babysit and to pacify,
it keeps them quiet and all the things.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
But and and like you said, I mentioned you.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Said it one time before, how it just gets under
your craw How they give them these iPads and stuff
in church, like you're not paying attention to service. If
we don't have you don't have a youth church or
children's church established. And the kid has to say, we
had to sit in this in the pew, and we
didn't have headphones because it was tweed didn't.
Speaker 5 (41:13):
Why are we all looking at each other y'all in
the studio like headphones.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
We didn't.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
We didn't And I understand, you know, And and there
are new parents that are very sensitive and you don't
watch every scary thing online and so people can't touch
I know a friend her daughter had a baby, and
she was like, well, mom, you can't touch her until
she's this many months old because she has to make
sure that she builds up enough antibodies to deal.
Speaker 6 (41:34):
With that going.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
You don't pass that baby, you don't give.
Speaker 3 (41:38):
It this grand baby, right right, And yeah, but you know,
but they'll probably have us a laptop in our face
probably right, And I.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Mean it's getting younger, you stroller.
Speaker 5 (41:54):
You say, how they look looked at They like talking
to me, I'm watching this and look.
Speaker 6 (41:58):
You up and down and short little bitty kids.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
Ask the grandkids what they want for Christmas, and of
course they want new iPads and phones. Who guess who's
not getting them that? And they'd be laughing at me.
Every year I got bikes.
Speaker 5 (42:11):
I'm buying my year. I'm buying my grand baby right here.
It looks like ad they're not.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
That's what we did. Do I charge this day? I'd
like this solar.
Speaker 5 (42:22):
Shaking and start shaking his start off.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
So the question is what age is a good age
for kids to have social media? Sayah doesn't have it yet,
she's thirteen, should be fourteen, so yeah.
Speaker 5 (42:36):
Uh, maybe think about it. But we want to know
from you.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Eight seven seven two for two two four two six
what's a good age for kids to have social media?
Speaker 6 (42:44):
Give us a call eight seven seven two for two
two six's get up on us.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
If you're listening to get up Erica Camp, you've heard
from us.
Speaker 14 (42:56):
I'm so excited really because I got through and I
didn't exactly just.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Get a whole is off morning.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
All right, today we are talking about social media and
what is the what is an appropriate age for kids
to have social media.
Speaker 6 (43:09):
Let's go to the phones and talk.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
To Takuana and Georgia hates Taquana. What age should kids
have social media?
Speaker 6 (43:15):
I didn't let my daughter give us if you graduated
high school. I didn't want her to have to deal
with all the pressures.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
And talking back with all people that are going to
be convincing.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
So after high.
Speaker 5 (43:26):
School was good enough for me. I didn't want her
to have to deal with any of the stressors while
she was trying to graduate or.
Speaker 20 (43:34):
Year.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
She graduated in twenty twenty three, so she's twenty.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
One now, wow, wow, Well, thank you so much for calling.
God bless you to Iguana.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Thank you all.
Speaker 3 (43:43):
Have a good one, Yvonne. And North Carolina is on
the line, Yvonne, what age your kids be allowed to
have social media?
Speaker 21 (43:49):
Yes, that's interesting because I asked my daughter twenty two
college graduate because I went to so much with that
twenty on high five tell me herself twenty one.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Okay, Well, thank you so much for calling. We appreciate you.
Speaker 21 (44:07):
Bye bye, okay, bye bye.
Speaker 5 (44:10):
Bye A seven seven two two two six. It's time
but to get up pole. Let's go to Texas and
talk to our girl, dere Lisa. Dere Lisa, what age
is the age lamit that gives you to have social media?
Speaker 14 (44:22):
Oh, good morning, good morning.
Speaker 18 (44:24):
Go.
Speaker 14 (44:24):
So I would say it's definitely nothing before thirteen years old. Honestly,
I don't think it's healthy for their self esteem. And
there's just a lot of things. There's too much there's
too much power in the problem of their hands at
a young age, and it's too much pressure, and it
does more damage than it does good at that age. Absolutely,
(44:45):
especially when it's not monas church. So yeah, my babies,
I have a two year old and a six year old,
and we will pick up a book, we'll play with
some educational toys. Yeah, but we do not have devices.
Speaker 8 (44:56):
In church.
Speaker 14 (44:57):
You will pay attention and focus, you know, learn about
the Lord.
Speaker 6 (45:02):
So yeah, thank you so much for calling. I hear
you loud and clear, says.
Speaker 14 (45:07):
Same plays have a place for us.
Speaker 3 (45:10):
Vicky and Maryland is on the line, VICKI, what age
should kids have social media?
Speaker 11 (45:14):
Kids should have social media? I'm gonna say probably around
age of seventeen. If you haven't read Anxious Generation by
Johnson Hight, you're missing the point about what's going on with.
Speaker 6 (45:23):
His mental health. I have three teenagers myself. I have
two boys.
Speaker 11 (45:26):
Who are nineteen, of them was seventeen, and I've seen
the impact my daughter. So I became aware and I'm
a marriage with family therapist, so I am on top
of this is my soapbox issue because I see a
lot of parents, and I see a lot of kids,
and I see the.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Great impact that it's having on them.
Speaker 11 (45:43):
So I became aware and started monishing this for my daughter.
So she's turning fifteen, she.
Speaker 6 (45:47):
Does not have social media yet.
Speaker 11 (45:49):
I started putting her in classes girls classes that started
to talk to her about the impact of social media
and always being on the phone. So it's a hot
topic in my household. It's a hot topic on the
clients I see, and that book really sets the tone
for where we are.
Speaker 6 (46:05):
Where we are currently.
Speaker 11 (46:08):
Anxious Generation by Jonathan.
Speaker 6 (46:10):
Hights Anxious Generation. Thank you for that. I'm going to
check it out. Thank you for calling.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Please do you're welcome.
Speaker 6 (46:17):
Thank you guys all the great work you do. Bye,
our pleasure. By bye.
Speaker 5 (46:20):
Let's go to Charlotte and talk to the pardoners. Deal
deal tell us what age should kids have social media?
Speaker 9 (46:28):
At this point, there should be no social media before
the age of thirteen. And I'm saying that because we
need to make changes in the school systems, because they
are requiring kids at a much earlier age doing the curriculum.
But once you hand the kid the phone, if it
has internet connectivity, they're going to go on social media,
their friends and their bob. They've got so much too
(46:50):
much exposure and at the point where that screen is
part of the reason why we've got so much issue
with children paying at ten, being able to focus. When
we were young, we had to sit in church and
be quiet.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
Simple. Yeah right, you had a quiet looked in church.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
I got much time through like.
Speaker 20 (47:15):
A lot of a lot of parent.
Speaker 9 (47:18):
We got to make sure to teach them because that
skill is going to be essential as they grow up.
Speaker 6 (47:23):
Absolutely the needs of the child.
Speaker 9 (47:25):
Each child is an individual, but they just will be
taught a baseline of how to.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
Behave for sure. Thank you so much for calling Dale.
Appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
I love you guys. Keep doing what y'all do, all.
Speaker 5 (47:36):
Right, Bye bye bye. It's crazy. I just don't have
no kids to be in this in this conversation. It's fine,
you got grandkids. I'm not the boss of him, he's
a grandpa. You got rights. I'm going to get this book,
The Anxious Generation. I think that we should check it out.
Speaker 3 (47:52):
Yeah, explore this conversation more, especially for that the health
of our children.
Speaker 6 (47:57):
Do not stick around it more.
Speaker 5 (47:58):
On the way you're listening to.
Speaker 6 (48:05):
It's good at what is America Kill?
Speaker 1 (48:12):
I was trying to read.
Speaker 5 (48:13):
Chris hand writing before we started.
Speaker 3 (48:16):
Oh man, it is so according to all it said.
God loves hermez no hearts because like laws and listen, guys,
(48:40):
coming up this hour, We've got the e G. True
Hollywood Bible story. It is Mary and Joseph, and then
trending topics and the quick sports minute. I want to
encourage you really quick. There's an East Cleveland auto mechanic
who became a doctor at fifty one, fulfilling his lifelong
dream after a tough childhood and during weeks without basic utilities.
It is never too late to come who you've always
(49:01):
dreamed you wanted to be, so go after your dreams.
We got great music on the way from Otis Camp,
Ricky Dillard and Tamala Man. Here's Cec Winings with that's
Mike King on Get Up Mornings.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Enjoyed cha wonderful morning.
Speaker 2 (49:15):
Find out what everybody's talking about right now?
Speaker 1 (49:18):
Take it over the web.
Speaker 20 (49:19):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (49:20):
It's trending topics up to the minute, all.
Speaker 6 (49:23):
Right, Cheryl tell us what is trending today?
Speaker 1 (49:25):
All right. I am a big.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
Fan of The Upshaws on Netflix, and I love it
because it's executive produced, of course by Mike Epps and
also Wanda Sykes, and so I love to see us
doing big things.
Speaker 6 (49:41):
And so they just renewed a new season.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
Season five is about to be for the January fifteenth,
for The Upshaws and so yeah, you know, it also
stars Kim Fields, and it's just really fun. It's a
really modern day sitcom and we don't we don't have
a lot of the right anymore, getting Sanford and son
Al it is, right, but you have those two comedians
(50:04):
just going back and forth, and so I just love it.
I like Mike Epps's character because I feel like he's
somebody in my family.
Speaker 6 (50:11):
Right, He's somebody uncle, right, right, my uncle.
Speaker 3 (50:14):
Anyway, So they're coming back to Netflix, and I love
that they've approved them for season five.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
Elevation. Nice.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Stephen Ferdick says, I'm doing my own tours Stephen Ferdick said,
I'm pulling my own folk together, right, Stephen Ferdick said,
I'm putting out my own records. Well, you know, they've
been doing all the writing on a lot of the
songs that have been out for the last few years,
you know, with Maverick and and all the iterations of
Maverick and stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (50:42):
So yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
So they're doing another Elevation worship tour that's gonna kick
off on February twenty fourth and go through March fifth.
And so I love it just as church singers or yeah,
well he has a whole group of singers with you know,
I know Isaiah Templeton, so he's a part of the
music ministry there. So if you've ever been to an
Elevation night, it really is him.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
Is the preach word. He gets up and he gives
a word and.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Then then he then he released and does right and
then he releases the songs that you know, all the
hits that we know like Gyra see Victory hearing it.
I wish a lot of artists knew that that's a
really great model when you go from church to church
singing it.
Speaker 6 (51:25):
It allows the church.
Speaker 5 (51:26):
To get integrated in the song and the message, and
they start singing and it spreads.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
I think Bishop Bully and Murphy does that very well.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
He does, he does, he does, and so yeah, but
he's grown his own brand, grown his own ministry, and
it's taking it worldwide. This is their fifth tour. I've
gone to a couple that was here in d C.
And it's just so very powerful. It's really powerful, life
changing because they really do an all to call, like
all to call. It's not just like you know, giving
the salvation thing. He really prays and so and then
(51:57):
people followed them, so it's huge. They do it in
bigger en, they do it at the Capitol One Arena
in DCO.
Speaker 6 (52:02):
So yeah yeah, yeah yeah, So they're about to go
back out.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
Oh did you see your girl Tasha Cobbs Leonard on
Jimmy Kimmel, Yes, looking amazing yet her and John Legendy
at church.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Oh good on Jimmy Kimmel on Monday.
Speaker 5 (52:18):
And so it's now, you know, on all socials and
you could get it on YouTube.
Speaker 6 (52:22):
You can see the full performance. Powerful.
Speaker 1 (52:25):
I love it. Yeah yeah yeah, yeah, gospel on TV.
Speaker 6 (52:27):
That's how Yeah, I know. I like what she's doing.
I love it.
Speaker 1 (52:33):

a sports minute. Yeah, good game, It's Grif Sports Minute.

Speaker 5 (52:41):

Moore was fired as the head coach for the University
of Michigan's football team with credible evidence allegedly for an
inappropriate relationship with a staff member and it it's just
spiraling out of control. He left the school, allegedly left
(53:04):
the school and went home and made some accusations and
then went They found him at church. He's in custody
right now. I would just like to say, pray for
this brother. You know, imagine having a horrible day and
getting the worst news you ever got in your life,
