You know, people with genuine intention, People who are not
grumpy while they do the work.

People who come just in hopes that God would get glory,
not to be seen, not to be acknowledged, not for
a better position, not for financial gain, but literally come
with a pure heart.

God loves pure heart.

Matthew five and eight is blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God right, and then two Timothy
two and twenty two says, so plea youthful passions and
pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who
call on the Lord from a pure heart. Get them God,
that ain't a pure heart. That means you want God

I know, men, if you pray those kind of prayers,

I am blessed to be married and have kids and
have a good job, even without that, I'm blessed. Even

I'm His. You're blessed because you're His, You're called, You're chosen,
your loved, with or without the things that you think

are indicators of you being loved by God. So shift
your heart so the enemy doesn't manipulate you. When you
don't really see yourself as blessed, then you try to
manipulate your way into a blessing, you know what I mean?
And is it really a blessing if you had to
manipulate your way into it. I pray for pure heart
among us. I pray for pure hearts. Listen, it's Christmas

time coming. Some people are buying gifts because of what
they want to get. Some people are buying gifts because
they don't want to get in trouble, because I don't
want to be fussed at.

Greet people, when you meet people, oh they may be

the ways that you love me. I know you love me.

You know one thing about me, I'm gonna be honest
with myself. When I wrote I know who I am
and I Know who I'm not is a real sentiment
that I tell myself.

I don't allow people to dictate who they think I
am by them watching me, and that is the good
or the bad. So I don't get over inflated with

who I am and what God has called me to be.

It takes a lot of prayer and time with the Lord.

Because if you really are spending time with the Lord,
you will be humbled at his goodness and graciousness and
his kindness, especially when God has blessed you.

to get that out of our head. Oh they're married,
they're blessed, they got a house, they're blessed. Listen, people
be married in a house and ready to take theirself

Blessing is knowing how to repent and forgive. Blessing is
being humble enough to walk through a storm and still
hold God's hand tightly. And so I thank God for

I also thank God for the wisdom to recognize when
it's time to speak up for myself, you know, because
sometimes I have to do that. I am processing through

some things that we have to do for my church.
And you know, sometimes you're on these text chains, and
text and tone don't always come through with the real intent,
and it is easy to go off on somebody because
you read it, you read it in the mad voice. Yeah,
I always tell people read this in love, read this
saying Erica loves me, and read it and then go right.

And so I didn't do that yesterday, y'all.

And I I almost almost almost.

Oh send a message that I did not need to send.
But I know myself and I know that sometimes I

They were trying to change the date two days before,

believe in changing a big event for one person, even
if it's me. If they intend to come and they're
going to be blessed, if put somebody in place so
it can still go. So the first message that we

need to make changes in the school systems, because they

But once you hand the kid the phone, if it
has internet connectivity, they're going to go on social media,
their friends and their bob. They've got so much too

much exposure and at the point where that screen is
part of the reason why we've got so much issue
with children paying at ten, being able to focus. When
we were young, we had to sit in church and
be quiet.

People who come just in hopes that God would get glory,
not to be seen, not to be acknowledged, not for
a better position, not for financial gain, but literally come
with a pure heart.

Matthew five and eight is blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God right, and then two Timothy
two and twenty two says, so plea youthful passions and
pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who

that ain't a pure heart. That means you want God

beat up one of your other kids for me. And
I know, men, if you pray those kind of prayers,
and I'm not judging you because I've had my times
or I feel like.

But when I realize that God fights better than me,
I don't have to fight a battle, and I don't
have to tell him to fight a battle. I just

spirit of offense right in my heart where I always
recognize somebody doing wrong.

When God has your heart, you trust him, and so.

I may lose dot dot die for me. It doesn't
matter what I lose. He gave it to me in
the first place, He'll give it back to me. Let's
make sure our heart is for God.

Sometimes we see people and we look on the outside
and we go, oh, they're blessed because they have whatever
it is you see that they have right And while
I am blessed to be married and have kids and
have a good job, even without that, I'm blessed. Even
before I had that, I was blessed. I'm blessed because
I'm His. You're blessed because you're His, You're called, You're chosen,
your loved, with or without the things that you think

are indicators of you being loved by God. So shift
your heart so the enemy doesn't manipulate you. When you
don't really see yourself as blessed, then you try to
manipulate your way into a blessing, you know what I mean?
And is it really a blessing if you had to
manipulate your way into it. I pray for pure heart
among us. I pray for pure hearts. Listen, it's Christmas

time coming. Some people are buying gifts because of what
they want to get. Some people are buying gifts because
they don't want to get in trouble, because I don't
want to be fussed at.

I just wanted to be from a pure place.

You know, when you.

Greet people, when you meet people, oh they may be
my friend. Ah. It works in some stayses, you know,

when you say you love someone, it should not be transactional.

two times. Well I called you. That's so much pressure
when you count. Let me count how much I count
the ways that you love me. I know you love me.

Let me count the ways. Well, if those ways change,
you not love me anymore. So you can't base it
on that, you know, it has to be on something.
We're just because you genuinely loved them. When I told
Warren I loved them for the first time, he hadn't
told me, he hadn't proposed we were just dating. It

aware that he may not say it in return because
he was a few years younger than me. Right, And

comfortable enough to say it no matter what came on

I don't allow people to dictate who they think I
am by them watching me, and that is the good
or the bad. So I don't get over inflated with
the compliments. But I also don't let myself get taken
down to the bottom just because somebody don't believe in
who I am and what God has called me to be.

It takes a lot of prayer and time with the Lord.

Because if you really are spending time with the Lord,
you will be humbled at his goodness and graciousness and
his kindness, especially when God has blessed you.

And blessings is not just money, guys, I want us
to get that out of our head. Oh they're married,
they're blessed, they got a house, they're blessed. Listen, people
be married in a house and ready to take theirself

Blessing is having the peace of God in my heart.
Blessing is knowing how to repent and forgive. Blessing is
being humble enough to walk through a storm and still
hold God's hand tightly. And so I thank God for
knowing that God will carry me and cover me. But
I also thank God for the wisdom to recognize when
it's time to speak up for myself, you know, because
sometimes I have to do that. I am processing through

some things that we have to do for my church.
And you know, sometimes you're on these text chains, and
text and tone don't always come through with the real intent,
and it is easy to go off on somebody because
you read it, you read it in the mad voice. Yeah,
I always tell people read this in love, read this
saying Erica loves me, and read it and then go right.

And so I didn't do that yesterday, y'all.

And I I almost almost almost.

Oh send a message that I did not need to send.
But I know myself and I know that sometimes I
can read things.

I took a beat, and then I made a phone
call to hear the voice that I needed to hear,
and it was not what I thought, and I was
so so grateful. I was ready to talk to the

And you know, there's something that I was supposed to
go on.

They were trying to change the date two days before,
which means we have to gather the women change you know,
it would just complicate things. And it was literally because
one of the people couldn't be there. And I don't
believe in changing a big event for one person, even
if it's me. If they intend to come and they're
going to be blessed, if put somebody in place so
it can still go. So the first message that we

got to change this because I want to do it
on another day y'all.

We had a conversation and she was like, no.

So I just love how taking it to Jesus allowed

amidst several ministries, I don't care. You still have to
check yourself because sometimes you will respond wrong aboutely and
so I thank God that we got it together. We
will make some adjustments, but the event will still happen,

Yesterday, the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanize he welcomed a
world first social media band for children younger than sixteen.
He said this reform will change lives from Australian kids,
allowing them to just have their childhood. They said, Facebook, Instagram, kick, Reddit,
Snapchat threads, TikTok x, YouTube and twitch faces fines up
(39:10):
to forty nine point five million dollars if they failed
to take a reasonable steps to remove the accounts of
Australian children younger than.

Sixteen now as a as an Australian basketball team in
my hotel. Right, And I was, I saw him two
days in the row and didn't ask them the first day.
And now that I think about it, nobody was on
their phone. Yeah, it was like it was a funge
of them. Nobody was on It.

Just went into effect yesterday and and yeah, and they
they've taken measures to find out you know, the ages
of these kids, but.

There finding out now these kids that was on laptops
and or iPads since.

Like my grandson he was probably two and three and
couldn't make full sentences before he could find a YouTube
vic but to even contemplate suicide as a fifth grader,
sixth grader because of.

Yeah, yeah, my daughter comparison and I'll never be good

So yeah, you know, is this is extreme? Because you
have some people saying, well this is extreme. They can
start at and then you know when you're giving him
the phone because they're three and you don't want to
be bothered, right, can't There's no way, Like I have
a family member who has a YouTube page and he
must be listening on only.

And because they use it, the babysit and to pacify,
it keeps them quiet and all the things.

Said it one time before, how it just gets under
your craw How they give them these iPads and stuff
in church, like you're not paying attention to service. If
we don't have you don't have a youth church or
children's church established. And the kid has to say, we
had to sit in this in the pew, and we
didn't have headphones because it was tweed didn't.

are new parents that are very sensitive and you don't

I know a friend her daughter had a baby, and
she was like, well, mom, you can't touch her until
she's this many months old because she has to make
sure that she builds up enough antibodies to deal.

especially when it's not monas church. So yeah, my babies,
I have a two year old and a six year old,
and we will pick up a book, we'll play with
some educational toys. Yeah, but we do not have devices.

two boys.

Who are nineteen, of them was seventeen, and I've seen
the impact my daughter. So I became aware and I'm
a marriage with family therapist, so I am on top
of this is my soapbox issue because I see a
lot of parents, and I see a lot of kids,
and I see the.

Great impact that it's having on them.

So I became aware and started monishing this for my daughter.
So she's turning fifteen, she.

to talk to her about the impact of social media
and always being on the phone. So it's a hot
topic in my household. It's a hot topic on the
clients I see, and that book really sets the tone
for where we are.

the age of thirteen. And I'm saying that because we
need to make changes in the school systems, because they
are requiring kids at a much earlier age doing the curriculum.
But once you hand the kid the phone, if it
has internet connectivity, they're going to go on social media,
their friends and their bob. They've got so much too

much exposure and at the point where that screen is
part of the reason why we've got so much issue
with children paying at ten, being able to focus. When
we were young, we had to sit in church and
be quiet.

Simple. Yeah right, you had a quiet looked in church.

I got much time through like.

A lot of a lot of parent.

We got to make sure to teach them because that

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay.
