In today’s episode of Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell, Erica Campbell dives deep into three transformative themes: first, in her Faith Walk segment Learn the Lesson, she reminds us that God’s timing often places us in a process, so we’ll grow, not just so we’ll get the answer. She urges listeners to ask not only “When will this be over?” but “What am I supposed to learn?” when facing life’s challenges.

Next, in her Ericaism of the day Put the Weight Down, Erica compares carrying past hurts and frustrations to lugging around a gallon of water—it’s heavy, pointless, and keeps you from fully walking in your purpose. She encourages you to lay that burden at Jesus’ feet and step into freedom. Finally, during Love Talk Ask the Question, Erica emphasizes the importance of open, honest communication in relationships. She points out that whether you’re asking a partner for help or simply stating a need, withholding the question only weakens connection and intimacy.
Together, these segments call listeners to allow the process to refine them, to release what’s holding them back, and to speak about their truth in love.

A jury has been selected for the murder trial of
former Sangamon County Sheriff's deputy Sean Grayson, who was accused
of fatally shooting Sonya Massey in her kitchen she called

not guilty to charges including first degree murder, aggravated battery
with a firearm, and official misconduct allegedly shot Massy during

(02:30):
a mental health crisis July six, twenty twenty four. Due
to extensive pre trial publicity, the trial was moved to Peoria, Illinois,
with opening arguments set to begin nine am Wednesday. The

debt collection are soaring. The Federal Trade Commission received more

Good morning is Shawnie Scott and here's your quick sports minute.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
NBA is back and opening.

Speaker 8 (04:14):
Night was last night for the twenty twenty five twenty
sixth season. The Oklahoma City Thunder took on the Houston
Rockets and OKC one one twenty five, one twenty four
in double overtime. The Golden State Warriors took on the
Los Angeles Lakers and beat them one nineteen to one
on nine. So who's going to snatch the crown this year.

(04:37):
Can okay see do it again? Are they gonna run
it back? Or is somebody gonna take it? Let's start
with the East. The vibes in New York are loud
right now. Most experts got the Knicks taken over the
East behind the new head coach Mike Brown, who's bringing
that balance in grint and flow. Now Jalen Brunson and
the crew, they got depth defense and a new offense
that might finally get them back to the final after

(05:00):
twenty five years. I have to tell you more about
the West in the next Sports minute. I'm Shannie Scott
with your Sports Minute, and now here's Cheryl with the birthdays.

Coming up in fifteen minutes on the birthday shoutouts on

(05:34):
Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
If you're listening to Get Up with Erica camp Faith Walter.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Right now, hey man, faith Walk.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day,
and today I want to talk about prayer being answered,
waiting on God to answer your prayer. I think when
we have those requests and things that we want God
to do for us, there's always something for us to
learn in the process. But because we are human, sometimes

(06:14):
we just want the answer without the process or the lesson,
which becomes very, very difficult because you can end up
in the problem that calls the question in the first place,
over and over again, when things haven't been handled right,
wanting a job, moving to a city, and you know,
the things that really require trust, things that require patients

(06:37):
allow you to grow as a believer. If you just
get the prayer answered and you don't learn the lesson,
then you miss the whole thing, right. And so sometimes
God is trying to teach us lessons within the question
that you've asked, but we're so focused on the question
being answered and what that means.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Am I saving enough to the answer?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Because I'm saving enough to the answer because I'm in
the right position to the answer, because not at the
right church. Whatever reason the enemy brings up in your mind,
we've got to remember that God is a god of process.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
There's always something to learn to a question.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
That I ask often when I'm going through something or
I have a request for something, Lord, what do you
want me to learn in this situation? I don't want
to miss it because I want to have to take
this test again. And when you learn the lesson, it
makes you stronger and wiser. When you learn to trust
in spite of when you learn to forgive, when you
learn to have compassion, when you learn to extend yourself
and be giving, then you learn what you're supposed to learn.

(07:31):
And so the next test is a little bit different. Listen,
I've said, Lord, I don't want the same problem for
twenty two years. I don't want to be having the
same request for twenty two years because I won't learn
the lesson that I'm supposed to learn. There's always a
blessing in the lesson, and so when you learn the lesson,
the answer is even sweeter. When you get the answer
and you didn't learn the lesson, you might be kind
of ignorant with the blessing. You might be kind of

(07:53):
ignorant with what God answered.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
You may put too much, too much, you may invest
too much stiff into Oh because I pray, honey, Because
when I prayed? Is it your prayer? Is it God's goodness?
Is it your prayer as it is your obedience? Is
it your prayer?

Speaker 7 (08:08):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Was it just God's time?

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yes, we're supposed to pray, and yes we take those
things to the Lord. But what I love about God
is there's always something we're supposed to learn. He's not
just this father that has spoiled kids.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
And I'll give you.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Whatever you want, and you don't learn the lesson and
you don't do anything right, you don't ever follow me.
His grace is what gives us the blessing. But there's
always a lesson to learn. Learn the lesson so you
won't keep going around and round with the same thing
over and over again. I want us to grow in
faith and grow in grace. I want us to be
prepared for what God has prepared for us. But we've
got to prepare our hearts and our minds so we're

(08:42):
in the right space mentally and spiritually.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
All right. That is the faith walk of the day.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I love you and I mean it now it's birthday

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Your blood could save a life Pledge at get up
erica dot com for your chance to win two hundred
and fifty dollars and an exclusive virtual meet and greet
with me Erica Campbell. All right, Serious Grip, mister Griffin
is on you, sir. Thanks, Hey, I have you know.
I was at the Spirit of Praise last week and

(13:32):
so many amazing people were coming up to me saying,
I mean some of them with tears in their eyes.
I'm just thanking me for, you know, making them laugh.
And a lady said, I was going through cancer and
you made me laugh.

Speaker 11 (13:47):
And I was at chemo and I would just be
cracking up in the chair and they would be like,
what you laughing at me? And she said just silly grip,
so she gonna be gripping. If you got cancer, you're
going through cancer, you can call me grip.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
I let you. I let you. But it's such a.

Speaker 11 (14:06):
It'll it always after all those people say that to me,
and I'd be like, I'll be right back, and I'll
walk away. Sometimes I just go cry and be thankful
because you know, God showed me this like he showed
me but he but he only showed me glimpses like
he didn't. I didn't have audio of it. Oh that's good,

(14:26):
thank you, oligos did He didn't let me hear it.
He just showed me glimpses and and pictures and and
stages and and and quick you know like that. But
to be in it, to be living in it, and
to hear people with testimonies like that, to say, man,
I got through cancer because you made me laugh. I

(14:49):
I am smitten by how God has just ordered my
steps in a way that you know. Here, I am
this comedian, I'm on comic view, I'm cussing all the time,
and I'm doing good. I'm doing okay in comedy. But
then he changed my mouth. He changed my mouth, He

(15:12):
changed my season, my season changed from that and to
just be in this genre and for people to say,
I remember before you was on the show and you
were doing the you know, the family comedy stuff, and
it is it is remarkable what God will do if

(15:34):
you give him a yes, yep, it is, he will
beyond blow your mind. And it's some things that's happening
that I can't even tell y'all right now, man, that
is it is. I've been weeping like it's such so
many great things. And it's crazy because as entertainer, and

(15:56):
then I guess as a just an adult too, you
just want to everything at thirty three, right want you
know what I'm saying, thirty four, I want to be
the CEO.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
But I was reading there's no ceo.

Speaker 11 (16:08):
There's some now, but before five years ago, there were
no CEOs over fortune five hundred companies that were under
fifty something. Now you know, you got the black guy
that's thirty five that's running the Red Lobsters.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
But this is new.

Speaker 11 (16:25):
But it takes I say all that because it takes time,
It takes grace, it takes wisdom, it takes faith, man,
And I don't know if I have saying giving up
days that's too strong. I don't think I had just
give up days, but I had some days that was sucky.

Speaker 7 (16:46):
You know.

Speaker 11 (16:47):
I had some days that I was like, I am
not going to count this day, but just being faithful,
and I thank all y'all. Y'all don't know how much
more you mean to me. That's not you have to
stop right this.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
You won't cry.

Speaker 7 (17:03):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
I heard.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Listen, because listen. I'm grateful for y'all too. Y'all have
no idea how this sets my morning. And I know
that mister Griffin is yours, but I you know, I
totally agree. Just to have people that you can share
and that you know are going to pray and keep you,
you know, keep your information safe. Y'all are safe spaces
for me, and I just thank you so much for that.
We love good at mornings. Can you tell all right, guys,

(17:27):
thank you for that Griff, thank you for that stick
around the of the day, and then he gonna be
regular grip joys and concerns.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
That's special, all right. It's good up morning as y'all.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
If you're listening to get up to day mornings with
Erica Gamble.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Listen, y'all if I got up in the morning and
I got a big gallon of water, which represented what
I thought about last night.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Wouldn't it be dumb for me to carry that around
all day long?

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Wouldn't it be domb for me to get in the
car and I get this gallon of water and I
sit in my lap, and this gallon of water represents
everything that I stressed about the night before. Why would
I carry that weight around? Why wouldn't I lay aside
that weight? And sometimes the things that you're thinking about
is necessary things to think about, the problems in your family,
the financial issues, the pain and your soul, the thing

(18:33):
that you're trying to figure out, why did it happen
in the first place. You can carry that, or you
can sit it down at the feet of Jesus. You
can carry that, or you can trust and believe that
it's going to work out for your good, that God
is going to reward you for what you went through.
You can trust and believe that if you lay it down,
Jesus can pick it up, and when he handles it,
it's not the same. And so I want you to

(18:54):
release the thing that's been stressing you. I know many
of you have gone through difficult things, challenging things. Sometimes
you get so addicted to what you went through you
remind yourself. You talk about it all the time. It's
in all your conversations. You know, so and so did
this to me, and so and so did that to me.
And I understand sometimes it's just present with you. But
I want you to have the courage to lay it down.

(19:15):
I want you to have the guts to lay it down.
I want you to have the strength to lay it
down and trust that God has gotten you. Listen, if
I was stressed about everybody that did something to me,
I would never do anything because I would always be
worrying about so what someone did. So I can never
do anything because I'm so concerned with what people did. Listen, y'all,
people gonna people, they gonna trip, they're gonna be messy

(19:35):
and all of that.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
That don't mean you have to stop.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
That doesn't mean that you have to quit because God
didn't get their approval when he called you. He didn't
get their approve approval when he puts you in the
position that he put you in. Sometimes those tough things,
those difficult things, is what causes you to become greater.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
If I want to gain muscle mass.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
What do I have to lift? Wait, I'm not talking
about the weight of the trouble. I'm talking about just
the pressure that it takes to go through. It ain't easy,
I'm not I'm not telling you that it'll always be easy,
But I'm telling you as possible if you keep Jesus
at the center. So I want you to lay down
those ways. Your muscles get stronger, your mind gets a
little stronger. If you go through a good trial. And

(20:13):
I'm saying that in that way on purpose, a real
good trial, it knocks you off your horse, makes you
take four steps back. I'm telling you it'll make you
stronger once you recognize and realize while God was with
me even in that, and I was the one that
made the mistake.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
God was with me even in that.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
And if I let it go, if I release it
to him, if I trust that He's got purpose even
in the problems, I grow stronger. And so I want
you to learn to lay down that stuff that keeps
stressing you out?

Speaker 11 (20:41):
Can you?

Speaker 10 (20:42):
Can?

Speaker 2 (20:42):
You?

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Please? Don't don't don't.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Text about it today, don't post about it today.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Don't go and look for other people who posted about
it today. Don't don't get in your little.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Circle, your little club of other people.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Who've been through the same thing you've been through.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
That all y'all doing is circulating problems because you know,
we trauma, we bond.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
It's a trauma bond. Don't do it. Don't do it.
Lay that stuff down.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I challenge you to say something new, speak life to yourself.
How about you say what God has already said about you.
How about you already speak the victory that He already
promised you. We know we're gonna have problems, but the
Bible says, thanks behind to God, who always causes us
to triumph.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
One version says always gives us the victory. So walk
in that victory today.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
All right, Listen, I know it was difficult, look yourself
in the mirror and say, all right, all right, all
right enough, we're not talking about this no more.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
That's what I.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Do when the enemy start harassing me and whispering in
my ear. When I go a place and I know
they didn't like me very much, I go and just
smiling and like, hey, how y'all doing. I'm not carrying
that with me? Why for what I'm amazing? They just
don't know it. So I'm not gonna walk in the
room with low self esteem and my head held was
down like somebody may not like somebody may not think

(21:49):
I'm qualified. So God ain't gonna ask them their permission
when he wants me to be all that He's called
me to be.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
So why not just lay down the way and walk
in it?

Speaker 11 (21:57):
All right?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
That is my erkaism for the day. Get up morning.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
If you're listening to get up with Erica Campbell, let
the church say Amen, good time for joys and concerns.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Well, say to the most hard guard, we are coming
to you live from the get Up Church of our

E and g lmn op.

the Lord usually thank you birth lady pastor.

Speaker 6 (22:37):

God is good all the time, all the time.

Speaker 11 (23:19):
Yes, I'm concerned about it. I'm gonna just be legit

a mustange. I ain't gonna laugh.

Speaker 11 (23:48):
But my wife and I don't know why. I never
seen her hair on her face. I never seen her
shave her face. But she reaches by her shin all

sit there. Somebody gonna have a gun next to her

(24:11):
right here, and she'd be like, hold on one stick
and the move lift my hand or just got she
trying to find his little fine hair.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
It's just the finest.

Speaker 11 (24:20):
You ain't even see it is she did she get
tweezers and it's no but there's no hair there so
this is all we feel it. That is all I'm saying, Ladies,
rock your mustache, but let your beard grow in before
you start playing with it. Just checking out. I'm talking
to her, and she like, hold on one son, just

(24:44):

Speaker 1 (24:50):

a must a whole one.

Speaker 11 (24:53):
Absolutely, you're just saying, all right, somebody else saying, don't
do that grip She do though, and I don't eric
do it a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Because I don't put the bottom of your bottom lift
way up right right so you can get It's like
your bike, and you know.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
What, it's not a hair on your face and you
know how to do the face. It's one we feeling. Yeah,
you rub your annoying the way.

Speaker 11 (25:28):
She checked out Robbie like baby, you know I yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
You gotta concentrate to get it or you won't get it.
You gotta be quiet. I don't know what we understand
you. You feel your pain. I love you.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
The way you just put his wife on blast, I
didn't get it.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
I'm definitely right. You said your whole you hold about
I can't hear somebody in the car doing it right now.
That's okay.

Coming up this hour, Wake Up and Win with Doctor
Willie Jolly his message the Flyer Prayer. Also we'll talk
to my sister. Are you Vedic practitioner Elena Atkins still
join us for this wonderful Wednesday. Music from Landa Adams,
Britt Jones and Casey j Here's t I, Kirk Franklin,
Young Joe and Sunday Service Choir with Thank God don't
get up morning.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
A physical health effects our mental health vice versa.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
See your body as you are strong, it's healthy ever after, healthy.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Morning, it's healthy ever after.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
And on the line with me is are eveda practitioner
and counselor.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Is our friend and sister, Elena Atkins.

Speaker 10 (27:36):
Kay, Elena, Hey, y'all listen.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
I understand we're doing a gut check this week, right
before the holiday season.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
So and this one is specifically for the ladies.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
So tell us how we can beat this bloating epidemic
that many of us have been experiencing.

Speaker 10 (27:51):
So eighty five percent of women are experiencing bloating during
PMS or stress, and studies will show that bloating before
or administration increases stress, which increases intestinal hermitability.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
So what that.

Speaker 10 (28:06):
Means is when you're stressed out, when you're not eating
right for your body type, that allows toxins to build
up within the body, making you not just enable to
digest your food properly, but also increases irritability and fatigue.
And one of the things that worsens this is multitasking,
which I know most women love to multitask, especially if

(28:27):
you have children. So doing things like a ten minute
walk right after you eat helps to improve gut mobility
by like twenty to thirty percent.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
I love that you just speaking directly to me.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Okay, so many of us ladies are fighting this thing
called hormonal chaos, from the monthly cycle, to having children,
to menopause premenopause.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
What's the root of hormonal chaos?

Speaker 10 (28:51):
So there can be many different routes, but seventy percent
of estrogen detoxification issues, according to Harvard Health, is from
poor digestion and it doesn't allow your body to help
metabolize the HORMONESID it needs to properly. So when your
agne is break then your estrogen and your progesterone are

(29:12):
not properly metabolizing the liver or the gut, and this
leads to mood, irritability, and stability, acne an even painful period.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
So you suggested many detox before the holidays. Talk a
little bit about that.

Speaker 10 (29:24):
We know that most Americans are gaining one to three
pounds every holiday season and most of us never lose it,
and that's due to a lot of the environmental factors
that are changing during the holiday season. The rush our
bodies needing to slow down and rest and reset.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
So you're talking about just kind of being intentional about resting, right, Elena, Yes.

Speaker 10 (29:49):
So most people don't realize that eating food too quickly
actually can increase your sugar gravings just by not slowing
down because because of the poor absorption that it leads
to the average person finishes a mill in like under
ten minutes, So this doesn't allow the saliva enzymes to

(30:10):
break down food and enhance nutrient absorption. So this can
lead from things to sugar cravings, gas bloatings, and even
imbalanced vata doing things like taking deep breaths trying to
eat your food without technology, because you have more neural
channels going from your brain to your gut than anywhere.

(30:33):
So just like you see those kids on the games
and they're playing a game, they're not hungry, they're fine,
everything's great. As soon as they turn that game game off,
they're starving. Now when those channels going from your brain
to your gut are no longer being occupied by the
stimulation of the game or whatever it is, they're engaging,
and now your body can actually realize what has been

(30:53):
happening the whole time without the distraction of the technology
or whatever the external stimulation may be so good.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Elena, all right, tell us how we can find out
more information about your services and how we can book you.

Speaker 10 (31:05):
So you can visit my web page at you can
heal here dot com. And if you'd like some daily
tips on how to just stay healthy and stay in
tune with the season, you can follow me at Elena
Underscore a Lease on Instagram.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Elena, this is such great information. Thank you for stopping by.
Coming up next is Wake Up and Win with Doctor
Willie Jolly on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
If you're listening to Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell,
it's time to wake Up and Win with doctor Willie Jolly.

Speaker 12 (31:46):
Campbell.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
It's another great day. This is doctor Willy Jolly.

Speaker 12 (31:54):
Some years ago, I was doing some events with Gladys
Knight and we were talking about flying and she shared
she did like to flying, was nervous each and every
time she did. I shared with her a prayer from
the book or set Back as a setup for Comeback
that has helped many people, and I shared it with.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Her and she said it helped her.

Speaker 12 (32:11):
It simply reads, Father, thank you for another opportunity to fly,
Your friendliest guys, I ask now that you take complete
control over this plane, and that you dispatch a legion
of angels to cover this plane from the front to
the back, from the top to the bottom, from wing
to wing, from side to side. Let this plane go
up at the appropriate time and come down at the

(32:32):
appropriate time with no incidents, accidents.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Or unplanned occurrences.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
And I pray that everyone on this plane will be
blessed because you reside in me and I reside in
this plane. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen,
this is a prayer that will help you. It will
help you to fly and soar to high heights. This
is doctor Willa Jolly, make it a great day. I

still don't know about.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Yea?

Speaker 7 (33:44):
All right?

Speaker 3 (33:44):
So the month of October, the month of October has
so many important national days. You know, it's Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and it's also National
Bully Prevention Month and and observance to that. The National
Bully Prevention and Coalition is asking us to commit to
one small act of kindness, like reversing the bully practice, right,

(34:07):
and so we want to see if our get up
church can be light in the midst of darkness today.
Do a small act of kindness. What is it that
you promised to do today? One small act of kindness?
We want you to promise to do it today. I
promise to treat one of my staff members to lunch today.
I have a production director since I've taken on the
role of programming the station. Who you know he does

(34:30):
sales production, so he doesn't have to do the production
I ask him to do. And I don't care what
I ask him to do. He is like right there,
He's like, I got you, I got you. So today
I'm going to I'm going to treat him to lunch.
I'm gonna I'm going to treat him to like not
just like a popeyees or a fast food or something.
I'm going to treat him just fine. No, that is

(34:51):
that is that is fine. But I mean just the
act that I want to do today is I want
to I want to give him a great sit down
lunch today.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Yeah, I love that. You know what I've been thinking
about doing.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
I know it's gonna sound a little extreme, but just
getting a bunch of twenty dollars bills and just passing
all to the kids at church. Oh that's nice, the kids,
especially the ones that serve and you know a part
of ushers and checking in the you know, the little
kids for Children's ministry.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
I'm just gonna be a blessing. Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
That's good.

Speaker 11 (35:20):
I'm always buying people's gas. Like, let me tell you something.
I buy people's gas, I buy people food, I get
people rides, I know all those things. Not having gas
and having a car is the worst.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
You know what I'm saying. I don't know about the
ride grip, well, I don't know about them.

Speaker 11 (35:42):
I know yeah, but I will definitely buy somebody's gas today,
help somebody out, and they got to catch them in
the store or in the actual gas station or at the.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Right So we want to know what is one small
act of kindness that you can promise to do today?

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
You can literally be a part of making this world
better by one small active kindness.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
So we want to know what are you going to
do to change.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Somebody's life, Bless somebody's life, make them smile, encourage them,

herself herself some self love, to rejuvenate and to give
her mind right because I know sometimes being a single

Speaker 3 (41:05):
Let's see al rite music from Taysha Cobbs, Leonard, Jonathan
mcgrennold's and Ricky Dillard.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Here's Jaqueline car We don't say getting on your side.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Let's talk about love for God, so love the world.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Yes, it is time for the love talk of the day,
and today I want to talk about learning to take
the help, learning to be open and be verbal and
communicate the help that you need. A lot of times,
our ego comes into play, our pain comes into play,
our trauma comes into play, and we literally don't know
how to say I need more of your time. That

(41:42):
didn't feel good to my heart. Now this don't apply
to those who argue real good and you have no problem.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Saying what you saying.

Speaker 3 (41:47):
But even in that, sometimes the place that comes from
is a place of fear. Fear that they don't really
love you, fear that they won't hear you, fear fear
that they're not really joyfully in the relationship.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
And so you you love with boxing gloves on.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
You love always looking for somebody to do something wrong
that ain't healthy, and that's not the love of God,
and that's not what He created it to be.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
But we are human and we are flawed.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
But when you invite not only the help of a person,
but the help of God, like literally, let Jesus sit
right in the middle of your conversation. Like imagine as
you're talking to your loved one, Jesus is sitting in
your face. Now, what you're gonna say? Are you gonna
cust them out? Or what you're gonna do? Will you
learn to ask for what you need? Because we know
the Scripture tells us to ask many times, and so

(42:30):
if we can ask of God, then that means you
can ask the purpose person.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
That you love when you need help.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
Don't sit there and suffer in silence because your ego
is so big, or if it's not high self esteem,
it's low self esteem. Either way, you just made everything
about you your ego.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Ego. Ease God out.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
Don't let that get into your love relationships where you
love somebody, you need somebody, but you won't say nothing,
or you love somebody you need them, and you're always
afraid that something's going to go wrong, so you have
this low slither of anger that just always stays with you.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Let that go.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Allow the love of God and the love of the
person that said they gonna be with you until death
through us part to really come alive.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
All right.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
I want our relationships to be healthy. I don't want
you to just stay because you know why I can't stay,
and we save and we just I think that you
can be in love and have healthy and happy and
still loving Jesus, all of that can go all together.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
You know.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
That's my love talk of today. I love you on
I meet, and I want your love to be healthy
and full and joyful. Listen, y'all. I notice is the
morning show, y'all. But if God created anything better than intimacy,
he left it in heaven. So let's make sure that
we are healthy in all the ways in our relationship.
All right, speak up for what you need. I promise
they love you enough to give it to you. Get
up one as y'all stick around. We got trending topics

(43:42):
up next. I'm get up morning.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
If you're listening to get up, Eric camping Er, find
out what everybody's talking about right now?

Speaker 1 (44:01):
Take it over the web. What is it? It's trending
topics up to the minute.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Did you know that one in three black blood donors
are a match for sickle cell patients? Pledge at getuperirca
dot com win two hundred and fifty dollars and an
exclusive virtual meet and greet with me Erka Campbell.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
Hey, Cheryl, what's trending?

Speaker 3 (44:18):
We've been talking about this, how more and more fashion
houses are looking towards black culture and luxury Fashion has
slowly but surely been welcoming black talent into his notorious
Ridgis space, and yesterday, Grace Wells Bonner received a historic
appointment from Ermez as the fashion house's newest men's wear
a creative director, making her the first black woman to

(44:41):
lead a major European Fashion House. Come on, Wells Bonner
will succeed there. Nique Nakanian, one of the industry's longest
serving creative directors who have been with Ermez for thirty
seven years. Of Jamaican and British descent, Wells Bonner's work
is known for celebrating culture and Black heritage while reimagining
classic tailoring and artisanal craftsmanship. A popular and recent example

(45:05):
of her work was seen on Lewis Hamilton at the
twenty twenty five met Gala. Beyond the historic nature of
her appointment, this moment feels particularly special for Wells Barner,
as the famed designer previously expressed interest in joining the
fashion House six years ago. She specifically described it as
her dream role. I love that and another news sipl

(45:27):
Wilks touched on this earlier this week. But when you
hear the name Debbie Allen, the word legend or iconic
follows closely behind. She's been dancing in our hearts since fame,
directing some of the most beloved TV moments of the
past four decades, and pushing young artists toward excellence through
her namesake Dance Academy and now Mattel's latest tribute collection, Barbie,

(45:49):
honors Allan, the dancer, the director, the dreamer, and the
living legend whose story children can now quite literally hold
in their hands. And though she has received the Kennedy
Center Honor, the m These Governor's Award, and the countless
other accolades that she has, Alan says this one hits different.
Just getting a Barbie was everything, she said. I mean,
I've gotten a lot of things and a lot of

(46:10):
really wonderful accolades for work, but becoming Barbie was really
very special and different from all of these things.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
She said, I was so excited.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
The doll's look pays homage to Allan's iconic look from Fame,
where she played formidable choreographer Lydia Grant, the role that
made her the first black woman to win a Golden
Globe for Best Actress in a Television Comedy or a Musical.
The doll embodies the nostalgia of the eighties. However, when
Alan looks at her Barbie, she sees many versions of herself. Reflected,

(46:40):
I love that Barbie was everything to me growing up
and passing that down to generations to my daughter and granddaughter.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
Yeah, Barbie is big and our culture.

Speaker 3 (46:50):
So to see our faces and to see our images,
I love that. And in other news, Jenni Thornton has
kept us abreast, but the free application for federal student
aid for the twenty twenty ses six twenty seven school
year has officially opened. Now despite yours government shutdowns, the
Education Department will continue to process the FASTA form and
if you plan to attend college next year, now's the

(47:12):
time to fill it out because funds are given by
a first come, first serve basis. So the fast food
is a free government application that uses students and their
families financial information to determine whether they can get financial
aid from the federal government to pay for college. So yep,
now's the time to do it. Log going to studentaid
dot gov. That's studentaid dot gov. All right, Shanne, you're

(47:35):
up next with a sports minute.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
In good game, it's good kill out a sports minute.

Speaker 8 (47:42):
All right, This is Shane and I'm back with your
quick sports minute.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
Now, last sports.

Speaker 8 (47:46):
Minute, we talked about the East and what they had
to offer. Since the NBA season just kicked off again,
Can okay see you run it back? Or is somebody
else going to take the crown? All right, we talked
about the Knicks, maybe they might be able to do
it after twenty five years. And we don't want to
sleep on the calves in the East either, because they're
still deep, still dangerous, and Evan Mobley looking like he

(48:06):
ready for that next step. Now Over in the West,
it's a battle between the new school and events. The
Thunder are coming off sixty eight wins in a championship
and SGA and Chad Holligram still getting better. The streets
say they ain't done yet. But the Nuggets with Yolkic
and Jamal Murray, ah, yeah, they reloaded too and they

(48:28):
want that smoke.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
So who's taking it all?

Speaker 8 (48:30):
Most of the experts say Thunder repeat, but a few
are riding with Denver either way.

Speaker 1 (48:36):
Buckle up.

Speaker 8 (48:36):
The NBA season is officially here, and it's about to
be a movie. I'm Seannie Scott. That's your quick sports
minute now here Shiryl with the birthdays.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
Thanks Shanny.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
If you're celebrating your birthday, you're celebrating today with Shaggy
with twenty one Savage boxer Deontay Wilder, actor Corey Hawkins.
Also my good friend Walter Thomas of Motown gospel.

get serious mister Griffin, and then we get funny mister Griffin.

We get all the griffs, right, And so that was
really good because I'm grateful for the shot I got,
real teary I too, just very grateful for this space.
And yet you guys are a safe place for me
as well. I think the comments outside of Veno's recording
us is that we share during the morning. It really
is therapeutic and and laughing and loving and it's all

(50:19):
a good thing. So anyway, it was a great show today,
and of course learn so much from Elena every time
she's on. And how I you know, live more. Hey,
so welcome to my life right long time a day.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
You mess up your lot. I love it. We love
this show. We love you.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
Thank you so much for rocking with us. Let's end
with the word of prayer. Lord Jesus, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
God.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
We have so much gratitude for your goodness, your mercy
and grace. Lord Jesus, help us to be a light
to everyone we experience today, to everyone we encounter. Lord,
let them see and know that there's something different about us,
because we carry the light and the love of the Lord.
That love changes lives, That light illuminates the darkness. We
come against the presence and power of darkness that wants

(51:17):
to destroy the people of God. We speak light and love.
Lord Jesus, you are the light. You illuminate our path.
You show us the way you will guide our steps.
Lord Jesus, and our stops. In Jesus' name, we thank
you God for every blessing that's on our way. We
thank you, Lord God for those that are starting to
consecrate themselves to prepare for this next season. By the way,
thank you for those that are consecrating their mind, that

(51:37):
are pushing back their plate, that are being more disciplined
in their life and in their flesh and in their
time with you.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
To grow in faith and grow in grace.

Speaker 3 (51:44):
In Jesus Mighty name, we thank you that we shall
receive everything that you've promised us. In Jesus Mighty Name,
we pray it is ours, and we receive it and
will give you praise for all of it. In your name,
I pray, Thank God. Amen A man. All right, y'all,
We'll be back tomorrow. Faith, walkin talking, enjoy living on
