On Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell, the Faith Walk segment—Teaching Kids Faith—focused on equipping the next generation with spiritual grounding. Erica encouraged listeners to build routines that foster a Christ-centered foundation early in life. Erica’s Erica‑ism of the Day, God Ain’t Random, served as a reminder that every moment holds divine purpose, even when life feels unpredictable. These segments were threaded with heartfelt shoutouts and community highlights like Joys & Concerns and birthday calls to underscore the show’s warm connection with its audience.

In a standout Interview, gospel legend Fred Hammond discussed his powerful collaboration with The Choir Room on the new single “Love Never Fails”—a live-recorded, choir-driven anthem celebrating gospel tradition and unity. The track, set for release with the album of the same name on August 22 via Centricity Music, was described by Hammond as a “heartfelt tribute to the golden days when choirs reigned supreme.” Meanwhile, Willie Jolley, in “How to Live a Full Life,” offered no-nonsense encouragement to pursue purpose with intentionality. Throughout, poll calls and trending topics kept the energy lively and grounded in real listener input.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
If you're listening to Get Up Erica Camber Faith Walk.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Right now, hey man.

Speaker 8 (06:43):
Yes, it is time for the faith walking today. I
want to talk about worshiping in front of your children.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
One thing I will never forget, and it is hearing
my father seeing and worship and pray at home. Waking
up to seeing him on his knees in the living
room life changing for me and the reason it was
so healthy because his worship wasn't connected to his perfect
to his perfect nature. It was connected to his brokenness

(07:11):
and his desire to still get in the presence of
God even though there were issues, And.

Speaker 8 (07:18):
I hold on to that even today.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
So I challenge parents to understand the power of worshiping
in front of your children. I think it's very dangerous
when we tell our kids we're going to church because
this is necessary for my life. But while I'm here,
you can be on your phone the whole time. This
is a life changing of necessity in my life to
worship and to get in the presence of God.

Speaker 8 (07:40):
But while you hear, you can play with your friends.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
We are teaching them that the presence and power of
God isn't that important. When I was little, while my
father prayed and while we got ready for church on Sunday,
it wasn't playtime.

Speaker 8 (07:51):
We literally had to sit down at.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Old school in our slips with rollers in our hair,
while we waited on my mom to get dressed, and
we had to learn to sit still while you played
worship music, and while we got our minds and hearts
ready for church. So when we got to church, it
was easy for us to sit down because we practiced
at home. What you model in front of your children
is teaching them how to walk out their faith. And

(08:13):
so let's make sure that they see us praying, that
they see us meditating and even spending time with the Father.
You know, the Word tells us to meditate on him.
How does that look? What does that look like in
your house? My mom used to play the Bible tape.
She had this big white plastic folder with all the
tapes of the entire Bible, and she would take him
out and put them in Oh.

Speaker 8 (08:33):
Lord Jesus, Psalms one, and it would go through all
of Psalms.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
It would no matter how far we was driving, we
were listening to Bible tapes the whole day. She does
it now she just does it on YouTube. But it
literally taught me something. It taught me how to shift
the atmosphere in my house, in my car when my kids,
when I feel that weird energy, I just began to worship.
Why because I saw my parents do it. They modeled

(08:58):
it in front of me. What are you modeling in
front of your children? Are you modeling a life with
Christ or just going to church? Are we modeling good
character and good practices that teach them how to all
deeper in love and develop their own walk with Christ.
Let's do better, Let's do more that. Don't just take
them the church, teach them Jesus. Teach them how to
operate on a Wednesday, on a random Wednesday when it's

(09:21):
not Bible study, by watching how you walk out your faith?

Speaker 8 (09:24):
All right? That is my faith walk for the day.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
All right?

Speaker 3 (09:27):

Speaker 4 (18:55):
So listen, y'all read the book because clearly we was
off today. Y'all getting the word of God. That's all
we really want you to do is get up.

Speaker 20 (19:02):
Warning if you're listening, to get up Eric camp Real
the Erics of the Day or get up Mornings with
Erica Cambo.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Yes, it is time for the rim of the day.
And uh, there's something that my nieces and my daughters
and my son say all the time in the call.
So many things random. It's a random call. That was
a random request is not It wasn't random. The kitchen
was unclean, and so I just came in your room
and said clean the kitchen.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
That ain't random. You just didn't realize you ain't clean
the kitchen. But here's what I know.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Sometimes random makes people feel safer than realizing this has
always been a question, or this has always been something
that they wanted to ask you. Whether someone is you know,
bringing up a question, because that happens to me a lot.
So if I'm out and i'm I'm talking and you know,
on my way somewhere, people will ask a question and
it can feel random, but it's not random. Plus, I

(20:06):
don't believe I serve a random God. I don't believe
that when I meet someone and there's a connection or
a question that feels kind of out of left field,
it's a surprise to me, but not to God. I
went to an event and there was a session that
I wanted to go to for TV and film. In
that session, I'm way on the side. I didn't walk

(20:28):
down the center aisle. It wasn't like a oldc ME
Eric is coming in. I never do that anyway. I
walked in the other side. But at the end when
they were taking the picture, they realized I was in
the room and called me up front. Well, here's the
part that could feel random. I ended up meeting two
people that work in TV and film and also are
very prominent writers in TV and film, which is what
I'm looking for. So what felt random to me was

(20:51):
a divine assignment and God allowing me to meet people
that I need to have conversation with. And what I
think we should be careful of is opening ourselves up
for marekous things to happen. And that is not saying
something random might happen today, but something miraculous might happen.
I may meet somebody and see somebody that I did
not know that I was going to see, and it
is a God appointment, you know, Like when the person

(21:12):
that you've been talking about you want to reach out
to and you see it in your comments on social media,
I'll go, is that a surprise or God? And you're
trying to get them, You're trying to get me to
pay attention because they were already on my mind. I
was already thinking maybe I should reach out, maybe they're
too busy, and then you see that. I think God
aligns things for us to follow, listen and hear him.
But if you're so busy calling it random, you don't

(21:34):
realize God is putting that on your heart, or God
puts you in that room, or the reason they came
up to you is because God is trying to drop
the seeds of what you're going to become. So you're
meeting people that are in line with your purpose. Stop
calling our miraculous God random. If he sees from the
beginning from the end, the person that I'm onna meet
on Friday is not random, It's divine. And so I'll
receive that in my life, and I speak that over

(21:55):
your life. May the next meetings and appointments and phone
calls and things that feelandom really draw you to understand
and help you to see and know that God knows
what he's doing with your life, and miraculous things are happening.
But you open yourself to give him glory and not
just say you know what's so random, so and so called.
That ain't random, that's divine. I accept that I received that,
and I want you to do the same, all.

Speaker 8 (22:16):
Right, y'all. That's the Erica is Mother Day. Love you,
And I'm meaning.

Speaker 9 (22:28):
If you're listening to get up. That's a church say Amen.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
The time concerns well, saying to the most hot God,
we are coming to you live from the get up
Church of our Lord, BAPTI Costalline denominational, denominational A M E,
C N ME E, N G L M N O

Speaker 10 (22:56):
God is a happy birthday to Derrick Harbor, DTL, Comedian
oscar Pe and my girl Angela Milton. But the first
giving honor to God who's ahead of my life. I'd
like to say, I'm glad to be in the house
of the Lord one more.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Time, elder girl, Uh huh, because he brought me from a.

Speaker 10 (23:21):
Mighty, mighty long way, Derek Harper, I would have been dead,
sleeping in the grave.

Speaker 15 (23:29):
But God is.

Speaker 8 (23:30):
Good all the time, and all the time.

Speaker 10 (23:33):
God is good. Yes, I'm concerned this morning. Well, I
used to have two vehicles. Ask me what happened to
one of them? That's what happened to one. What happened
to wander?

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Thank you?

Speaker 10 (23:49):
That's you know how big isy. So my wife has
this little car that's very low to the ground. The
other day she sees an armadillo, and the armadillo is
making our have to make a decision. Run over the
armadillo or crashed into a pole. Until you know, she
decided to run over the armadalo. Elen, jemmy, let me
tell you about the armadalo. If you don't know what

(24:11):
the armadalo is, it's a it's a hard little animal
that can ball up and.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
It's it's very it's hard. It's almost impregnable like that.

Speaker 10 (24:21):
Always liked that word, it's almost impregnable to like break
up an armadalo. Well, what that armadillo did to the
bottom of my wife's car toward tore the front off,
toward the oil filter out of it. The thing that
holds the oil filter got pulled out. All the oil
in the car could pushed a bracket back, and uh point,

(24:47):
let an armadillo be great, don't armadalo ain't a rabbit
or squirrel? That thing the car's total. The USA said, Uh,
tell the armadalo. We said, what's cracking the arm armadillo.
Ladies and gentlemen, you know you see him and you
be like on the side of the road. Yeah, don't
run them over. That's my point. It's somebody in that

(25:09):
car right now saying I just saw dead armadala on
the side of the road.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
That's where you're supposed to see him.

Speaker 10 (25:14):
You could say, all right, somebody else said, grip, you
gotta get a whole new car.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
I do you get to say, ain't you all right?

Speaker 9 (25:20):
But if you like me and you.

Speaker 10 (25:22):
See an armadialo, I'm gonna stop till he cross the
road like a goose.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
How about that? And I was like, eighty right, stupid.

Speaker 10 (25:32):
Armadillo, No armadillo, armadella card golls over and armadillo.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Well she was trying to make a decision like, yeah,
she ain't do it on purpose. It was in the road.

Speaker 10 (25:45):
And she was like if I said it was raining
and you know, and that thing tour, I meant to
think of a big cat size but with a hard shell.
She wow, so crazy? All right, Well, new car ministries
all right.

Speaker 17 (26:03):

Speaker 4 (27:14):
I saw the video that you did with Dewan Hills
Choir and created a choir masterpiece, introduced this song and
we'll come back and talk about it.

Speaker 17 (27:23):
This is from me and the little nephew, Duane Hill.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
And we just want to remind you that love never fail.

Speaker 8 (27:29):
Here it is on Get Up Morning, Get Up Morning
with Harold Campbell. Yes indeed, and we are not surprised.
That is Fred Handloul. Love never failed. Gotta giving me
radicals for Christ spots.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
I'm liking it. So the choir room is this news
space that he is sharing with the world. Tell us
how you became a part of this song. You know.

Speaker 17 (27:57):
His manager called me about five months ago saying, hey, man,
Douane would really like to write with you. Check out
the choir room, and I said, okay. So I looked
at the Instagram. I said, he's doing something good. But
I was in so I couldn't get with him, you know,
because every time he's coming I had You know, I'm
still recovering from my fall a year ago and at
the very end of the year my left leg and

(28:19):
ankle everything shut down on me. So I was in
the bed for forty days. Wow, you know he's as
fasted forty dight.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Forty don't make it such. And some got away, right.

Speaker 17 (28:33):
We got together in March, and you know he came.
I said, nephew, he played the track for me, him
and this guy, and I said, I'm going to blend
as a tidewalker love fellowship in radical for Christ.

Speaker 8 (28:45):
Yes, that's a good combination. I love it.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
I love it.

Speaker 8 (28:50):
In your words, why do the why does a choir
sound still matter, you.

Speaker 17 (28:53):
Know, because number one people want to sing it is.

Speaker 21 (28:56):
The choreroom itself is like choir courtoki because when they
come together, they sing everybody's songs. They don't come in
there and just try to do. When I walked in,
they said.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
All right, everybody through Lily other battlets and everybody just jumped.

Speaker 17 (29:11):
The band start playing and everybody's singing it. One hundred
and fifty outsolds one hundred and fifty sopranos at one
hundred and.

Speaker 21 (29:17):
Fifty tens and they just called it Richard Smallwood this
one in that one boo wow.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
You know, they said, well, let's do this one. He
taught it in ten minutes.

Speaker 17 (29:27):
We sang, well you rehearse it once and we pushed
the red button.

Speaker 8 (29:30):

sticks all around the country. Wow.

Speaker 8 (30:13):
Wow, we are so inspired and so encouraged.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Me and Warren were actually listening to your solo I
Am Persuaded album from years ago.

Speaker 8 (30:23):
What has been your favorite song?

Speaker 1 (30:24):
My favorite song is clean Heart.

Speaker 22 (30:26):
Really once so a rough time, I was actually, you know,
my family was falling apart, and it was like holding
water in my hands. I couldn't and I saw the
falling apart, and I asked the Lord how what was
my posture on it? And I asked him to give
me a clean heart on how to take it from
here on out. You know, maybe we won't make it

(30:47):
this far, but we can make it afterwards some kind
of way. And I don't want to be hiding money
and trying to do all this kind of stuff. But
she wants here you go, and I can help you
better from over and right here. And so then when
I wrote it, so I was crying like a baby
and the family was in the next room, they was
my studio.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
I can see him.

Speaker 17 (31:07):
They were just watching Bacon because he's and stuff. And
I knew it was falling apart, and I was just
with every word.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
I was just falling.

Speaker 17 (31:13):
Help me have a clean heart towards this situation.

Speaker 8 (31:16):
Wow. Okay, so I'm overwhelmed and emotional.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
I'm sitting here, Loot.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
Your sensitivity to the Father in writing these kind of
songs has taken so many people right to the feet
of Jesus, and we just honor you and we thank
you so much for your sacrifice, for your life, for
your gifts.

Speaker 8 (31:34):
And you know, if you ever need us for anything,
just holla and.

Speaker 21 (31:37):
We got you.

Speaker 1 (31:38):

to talk to you about something to help you live
your life, all your life and give your best all
your life.

Speaker 12 (32:41):
Many people limit their success to the age.

Speaker 9 (32:44):
My question is what does age have to do with it?

Speaker 19 (32:47):
Comedian George Burns was ninety nine years old to sign
a ten year contract with Caesar's Palace. He said he
would have signed a twenty year contract, but he didn't
think they'd be in business. He used to say his
daily key to success was a get up and look
in the obituaries. If his name was not there, he
would get busied. He lived until he was one hundred
years old, and then he died, not like many who
retired from living at sixty five and are simply buried

(33:09):
years later.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
I employ you do not stop living until you die.

Speaker 19 (33:13):
At Sachel Page, the great Negro League baseball player, said
as he was pitching in his sixties. Age is simply
by mind over matter. If you don't mind it don't matter. See,
the key is not your age, it's your thinking that
makes a difference. This is doctor Willie joall and go
to win with Willie dot com for resources to help
you win more. And remember to make the most of

Speaker 8 (41:47):
Hey, Cheryl, tell us what's trending?

Speaker 3 (41:49):
Are you family? Here's what's trending.

Speaker 4 (41:52):
In Florida, they erected a's statue of doctor Martin Luther King,
and let's just say, we had an awkward reaction.

Speaker 8 (41:59):
It's just really don't look like him at all.

Speaker 4 (42:01):
When honoring a figure whose legacy demands reverence and accuracy,
the stakes are always high. The city of winter Park, Florida,
recently discovered this as it unveiled its long away to
statue of doctor Martin Luther King, Junior, and the reaction
from the community was anything but the triumphant moment officials
may have anticipated. Instead confusion, disappointment, and disbelieve cloud. At

(42:22):
the event, Essence Magazine co founder Jonathan Blunt said, it
looked awkward. It just didn't look up to the standards
Winter Park is so known for. The new statue of
the civil rights leader was designed by artist Andrew Loyd,
who was selected by committee from the Arts, Park and
cra boards, and while social media was quick to criticize
the sculpture, Lloyd says the feedback he received before the

(42:45):
reveal was fairly positive. Meanwhile, online users wasted no time
calling out the statue's awkward appearance.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
It's trending everywhere.

Speaker 4 (42:55):
And we're going to post it for you on the
website at getuperica dot com. Fans of MPs ours beloved
Tiny Desk concert series.

Speaker 8 (43:02):
Can breathe a sigh of relief.

Speaker 4 (43:04):
Despite the Corporation for Public Broadcasts shutting down operations, the
series producer Bobby Carter has assured audiences that the show
will not be going anywhere. Carter took to Instagram to
address concerns sparked by the Trump administration's decision to eliminate
federal funding from NPR and PBS by zeroing out CPB's budget.

(43:24):
Bobby Carter says, I've heard from many friends, family, and
audience members who are worried that NPR's Tiny Desk is
shutting down.

Speaker 10 (43:32):
It is not.

Speaker 4 (43:33):
Unfortunately, CPB is shutting down, he said. I encourage everyone
to support public media and donate. I appreciate all the calls, texts,
and messages, he says, and they've been overwhelming and heartwarming.
So that's pretty dope. Tiny Desk is still in place.
