It’s a morning full of uplift, wisdom, and real-life inspiration as Erica Campbell and the Get Up crew celebrate the beauty of aging gracefully and staying grounded in faith. Erica’s Faith Walk centers on “The Blessing of Age,” reminding listeners that gray hair is a “crown of glory” and urging them not to disrespect the journey God has carried them through. She speaks candidly about embracing growth, purpose, and identity—even referencing Proverbs 16:31 as she encourages listeners to honor the wisdom, resilience, and possibility found in every new season of life. The E&G True Hollywood Bible Story brings humor and depth to the tale of Abigail, Nabal, and David, showing how quick thinking, humility, and God’s intervention shaped a dramatic biblical moment. And Judge Melodee Armstrong joins the show to break down the latest on tariff debates, Supreme Court concerns around emergency powers, and surprising details tucked inside the bill that reopened the government, highlighting how policy changes may impact household spending this holiday season.

The episode also shines with emotional connection and community insight—from heartfelt birthday shoutouts to the Get Up Poll focused on gratitude. Erica’s Ericaism challenges everyone to define themselves not by titles or achievements but by who they are in Christ—beloved, chosen, and called. Through inspiration, biblical storytelling, expert analysis, and vulnerable moments from listeners, the show creates a warm reminder that faith, gratitude, and self-worth remain powerful tools in navigating life’s ups and downs.

style Republican party that has largely disappeared in the Trump era.

figure from a different political America, one no longer dominant
in today's party. Is break with Donald Trump, including calling

backed President Trump in the last three elections has become
a focal point of the crackdown. Artificial Christmas trees are
expected to cost ten to twenty percent more this year

(03:15):
and holiday lights up to sixty three percent more as
tariffs drive up import prices. Since mass market Christmas d
corps has not been made in the US for decades.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
So get up warning with Erica Campbell if you're listening,
to get up with Erica Camber. Faith walking.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Right now, a man, Yes, it is time for the
faith walk of the day.

Speaker 8 (06:06):
And y'all know, as believers, we should all be learning
and growing in the Word of God, digging in the
Word of God, discovering new things in the Word of God.
And so I saw a post about growing old, and
so I just decided to look up in this Bible
app that I go to website, should I say that
I go to pretty often and just put in growing old.
And there's just some beautiful scriptures about growing old, like

(06:30):
Proverbs sixteen and thirty one that says gray hair is
a crown of glory, it is gained in a righteous life.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
I love that so much.

Speaker 8 (06:40):
Now we know gray hair can also be a result
of distress in life. But the fact that you have
it means you've lived and you've you've endured some things,
and you've gone through some things and you're still here.
Beauty of still being here is a blessing, you know.
And so I want us to have a different perspective
of growing old. We know people getting different things done

(07:02):
because they don't want.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
To look old.

Speaker 8 (07:04):
One thing I'm not gonna do. I'm not going to
disrespect the beauty of growing old gracefully. I'm not gonna
disrespect it. I'm not gonna minimize it. I'm not gonna
act like it's a problem. I'm not gonna grow up
every day and talk about every ache and pain. I'm
gonna say, God, I thank you that I'm alive. I
still have an opportunity. I still have my mind, I
still have choice. I can still live and love and laugh.

(07:27):
I can still discover this beautiful world that you created.
Get outside of my normal and do new things.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
It's as great. Here is a crown of glory.

Speaker 8 (07:36):
Now.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
I know some of y'all.

Speaker 8 (07:37):
You know you don't like grace, so you cover it up,
And that's okay if that's what you do, But don't
disrespect the beauty of growing Oh, we are devastated when
people die young, right, Well, why aren't we happier when
people are still here and still around?

Speaker 5 (07:52):
You know, what are you saying about growing old? How
do you feel? Do you say I'm wise now, I
can be the teacher, now, I can be the mentor now.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Well.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
Even some of my peers who sing there's a new
generation coming up, I celebrate them so big. Let me
tell you I'm not jealous.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
I know who I am.

Speaker 8 (08:09):
I've you know, musically, I've been doing Mary Mary for
twenty five years, which is it is a long time,
but it's really not. But because I'm in my fifties,
it feels different. I am not going to disrespect who
I am. Trying to be who I was. Come on
respect today, trying to get back to ten fifteen years ago.
I'm not gonna do it. Who God has called me

(08:30):
to be is who I am. He could still bless
me today, He could bless you at this age. You
can still fall in love at this age. You can
still do new things at this age. Y'all, stop being
disrespectful to the age that you are. If you don't
like your health, do something about it. Change your diet,
start working out, don't just get just start slow walking
to the grave like you're not. You still hear live.

(08:51):
That's what I'm saying. New scripture says gray hair is
a crown of glory. Rock your crown. Be bold about
who you are and how old you are, and what
you've learned and what you've gone through. And guess what,
if you're still breathing, you still got a chance to
do something great.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
All right, y'all, that is my faith park for the day.
I love you and I mean it. That was pro
Verbs sixteen thirty one.

tell him we're coming, maybe he'll be able to serve
us while we're there. He has plenty I know of

I am.

Speaker 20 (17:48):
Meanwhile, back at Nabel's home, one of the servants approached Abigail's.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
Wife, Abigail.

Speaker 12 (17:55):
Yes, my my friend friend told me from another friend

Maw Abigail acted quickly. She took gloves of bread skins
of wine, a fine dress sheet, roasted grain cakes, some
raisins and pressed figs, and loaded them onto donkeys.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Then she told her servants, go ahead, I'll follow you,
go ahead going out.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Absolutely, yes, tell me to stop.

Speaker 9 (18:53):
But she did not tell her husband Abel all right her.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
Wait, somebody's coming. Somebody's coming, y'all.

Speaker 8 (19:05):
I know that, I know that, my I know that

and not very smart, insulted you and said that we
didn't have anything for you. But please, he is not
a bright man at all, a bit of a nim
kom poopy, you know, stupid if you will. He's not clever,
just not a smart man, you know. So I just

(19:28):
wanted to let you know that that he's, you know,
not fully dealing with a full deck of cards. It's
just a little a little slow, you know, on the
yellow bus.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
So god it what I okay?

Speaker 8 (19:38):
So, so please, if you would just forgive him, forgive us,
and yes we can offer you so food.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Since you represent the.

Speaker 8 (19:46):

of cute too, so yeah, thank you, thank you, thank

(20:10):

Speaker 2 (20:11):
You so much.

Speaker 20 (20:12):
When Abigail went to Napel, he was in the house
holding a banquet like that of a king.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
He was in high spirits and very drunk.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Well, I think the king received it. I think I
think we're okay.

Speaker 5 (20:25):

Speaker 20 (20:59):
When more, Nabel was sober and Abigail told him all
about the provision for and the encounter with David, and
his heart failed him and he became like a stone.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Hello he is he breading?

Speaker 9 (21:17):
Hello?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Did he Nabel?

Speaker 8 (21:20):
Nabel?

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Oh God?

Speaker 20 (21:24):
About ten days later, the Lord struck Nabel dead and
he died, and the news of Nabel was brought to David.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
Sire, Sire, Nabel is no more?

Speaker 1 (21:37):
He has died?

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Is dead?

Speaker 8 (21:41):
Yes, So that's what happened. When you're trying to go
after guy's anointing. Now Nibel is dead. Blessed be the name.
Uh huh, he's dead. So he and his wife over there.
Now she's single. Yes, somebody, oh I Abigail, tell her
come see you. So that just drew me all the

(22:07):
way in Venos, their production of that whole story.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Man, I saw it. I saw it. My man voice
for days. That was feeling. Little gave it a little
more page little should she said, anybody still read first
twenty five? Y'all let it, bless you stick around. We

(22:33):
got more on the way. Erica wasn't the joys, the concerns,
don't live it. It wouldn't have done nothing.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 7 (22:38):
It was.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Still if you're listening to Get Up with Erica Cambo
real real though Eric of the day.

Speaker 13 (22:49):
On Get Up Mornings with Erica.

Speaker 8 (22:52):
All right, it's time for the Erica Ism. And I
came across a video from one of my sisters. She
sent it to me, and the the therapist, I believe,
was asking the young lady who she was, and she
kept talking about what she did, and she said, no,
that's what you did, that's what you do for other people.
That's who you are to someone else, who are you?
And of course she said, mom, she said, I'm a daughter.

(23:14):
She said she worked at the church. And she said, no,
who are you? And what do you think of you?
Give yourself five compliments, y'all? She paused and pondered and wait,
oh well, let me see. And it just made me
think and wonder how many of us don't know who
we are?

Speaker 5 (23:31):
Not what you do, but who you are?

Speaker 8 (23:33):
How do you describe yourself? And if you don't know,
let me give you a few tips of what God
thinks of you. He chooses you, He planned you at creation.
You are not a mistake. He brought you forth the
day you were born, according to Psalms seventy one and six.
His thoughts are towards you, countless like the grains of
sand on the shore according to Psalms one thirty nine.

(23:54):
You are deeply loved according to John three sixteen. And
so if you know who you are in Christ, then
an enemy can't lie to you about who you are. Yes,
I know you've been through things and people have done
things to you, and so you've labeled yourself by what happened.
But before that ever happened, you were loved by God,
Before that ever happened. He thought you were special. He

(24:16):
gave his son for you, he redeemed you. He said
your name is Victory. He said He'd caused you to triumph.
That's what the word says about you. So learned to
say what God says about you. I was talking to
my children about when we went to the Stellar Awards.
I think it was a year before last, and I
was nominated for a few.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Took my kids.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
We looked great on a red carpet.

Speaker 8 (24:37):
I didn't win nothing, y'all, and so I felt a
way when I came back to my room. But it
was a great moment to share with my children that
I am more than winning a Stellar Award.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
I'm more than winning a Grammy Award.

Speaker 8 (24:48):
I am a child of God, loved by God, called
on purpose to walk in purpose, to change the world,
to tell the world who Jesus is. I'm favored for it,
covered by his blood. I'm equipped for it with a
special anointing to reach the world. And so I don't
minimize who I am. I don't apologize for blessing because
God gave me this. So how dare I not testify
of His goodness in my life? I'm not minimizing a blessing.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
And don't you do it either.

Speaker 8 (25:13):
If you've been blessed with a gift and someone calls
you challenged, oh it ain't nothing. Yes it is. The
Father of the Father gave us a gift. The King
of Kings and Lord of lords, the Creator gave you
a gift. Feel good about that, and don't minimize that.
Don't talk yourself down because listen, the devil is talking enough.
You don't need to add to it. You need to
combat that with what God says to you, for you

(25:35):
and about you. He wants a relationship with you. Every
day He wakes you up with brand new mercy. Why
because he wants to talk to you. He wants to
love on you, and you love on him. Get in
his word and find out who you are and walk
with your chests out, walk with your head up, because
you know who you are in Christ. You are more
than a conqueror through Jesus Christ that loves you. That's
not what you do, that's just who you are. Just

(25:56):
existing in your kitchen, you more than a conqueror. In
your car, you more than a conqueror. At your job,
You more than a conqueror. I don't care what they said.
I know what he said, so you say what he
said about you. I love you when I made it.
That is the erica Ism of the day. Got my
own self fired up on that one. Yeah, I remember
that Stellar Award. My kids was talking and I was
a little sad. I said, but you know, I'm still awesome.

(26:18):
I know I lost these awards, but I'm still amazing.
I'm still called and I'm guessing what. I'm gonna make
some more music and maybe next year I win that one.
This one was for somebody else. God bless them who hoorah.
I'm happy for you, but I'm also happy for me
whether I win or lose. Why because God calls me
a winner. Say the same about yourself. Get up morning.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
If you're listening to get up, let the church say amen.

Speaker 8 (26:51):
At the time for concern, Well, my God, we are
coming to you from the get up Church of my Lord.
After I still denominational, denominational a telling it, don't app
I started Church of God in Christ. All right, Church,

(27:14):
go ahead, Chris, let the Lord use it. The first
lady pastor, you need some milk, that's the step in
the sanctuary. I was a little distracted this morning. Thanks
forget so good the new guy.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
At the church.

Speaker 12 (27:27):
Happy birthday to Michael Stewart and Melanie Bird.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
But first giving.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
Honor the God there is the head of my life.

Speaker 7 (27:35):
But I'd like to say of the last to be
in the.

Speaker 5 (27:38):
House of the Lord one more time, Elder Earl.

Speaker 12 (27:43):
He brought me from a mighty, mighty long way, Melanie Bird,
I coulda been ten sleeping in the grave.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
But God is good all the time, and all the time,
God is good.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
It's okay. First, lady Pastor, how'll be having to actually
all the time?

Speaker 12 (28:00):
It's all good. Got a bunch of people with your back.
This is a simple joys of concern. Man, I'm so happy.
It is my best friend's birthday. And I moved so
much grown up, it was hard for me to have
friends right because I'd be there three months maybe two
months for the most, and on to the next school.

(28:22):
But I met Keisha Abraham in the seventh grade, and
we went to seventh and eighth grade together at August
Boger Junior High School. Then we went to my pleasant
High School. Then I moved, but we've been friends' best
friends ever since. Man, Like thirty five plus years. She
was so focused. Like she literally retires from Costco next

(28:47):
in January, and it's probably only eleven or twelve people
that have been at Costco ever longer than her, Like she,
I'm so proud of the woman that she has become,
the grandmother that she has become. She's always been a
dope mom, and I mean, this girl, for me, is

(29:11):
is nothing better. Now, Somebody in that car right now
saying she was at Hostow when y'all was in high school.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
I know, you get to say, ain'ty alright? And somebody
else saying that's the same Keysha.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
As a Panther fan.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Did y'all went to the game? Yes, that's her. You
get to say, AINTI alright?

Speaker 8 (29:29):
But if you know, if I had one person that
I needed to call Jackson, it's Abraham and I'm great
man hatid.

Speaker 12 (29:41):
Sure she'd be my ursula if we live, if we
live in the same we didn't see each other about
two three times a year, and that's enough for me.
She is, uh, she's a lot, But Leniga says, she's
a girl.

Speaker 5 (29:58):
Me if that.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Wow?

Speaker 12 (30:01):
Right up two of us, that's like, oh great, I'm
getting two d Waynes for the weekend.

Speaker 8 (30:14):
Loud like you.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
She is loud like me.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Listen you need wanted to match your loud. I love it.
We got more on the ways. Get Up morning. If
you're listening to.

Speaker 8 (30:28):
A good morning, get people, Let's get up Morning's America Campbell,
loving Jesus, loving you. It is a thankful Thursday. Remember
the twentieth thing. We are having a great morning already.
Listen y'all coming out this hour, Wake up and win
with doctor Willie Jolly Today's messages.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Little things make a big difference.

Speaker 8 (30:44):
We'll also talk to Judge Melody Armstrong about how tariffs
may affect holidays spending.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
We really shouldn't be spending like that anyway, all right.

Speaker 8 (30:52):
Plus music from Maret Bound, Marette Brown Clark, I love her,
Ricky Dillard and James Greer your song house with Well well, Well,
Get up morning.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Hello.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
We have guests Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell.

Speaker 8 (31:06):
I'm Sheryl Jackson and all the line with me is
our legal expert, Judge Melody Armstrong. She's back to discuss
tariffs and the surprises in the bill to reopen the government.
Let's talk about it. Welcome back, Judge Mellow. Hello and
happy holidays, Thank you, thank you. All right, let's jump
into it first. You told us in September the Supreme

(31:29):
Court would hear arguments on tariffs this month and maybe
in time for the holiday spending.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
What's the latest on it.

Speaker 7 (31:36):
Affordability, of course, is the word of the day every day,
and allegedly billions were collected in tariffs, yet everyone spends
more because of them. The White House floated two thousand
dollars tariff rebates, maybe to folk making under one hundred
thousand dollars. The details just thin, But if we use
quick math, my friends, three hundred and forty million people

(31:56):
in the US two hundred and fifty million are adults.
If you pay all the adult there and there's no
money left, if you pay twentsy billion dollars back, you
pay about ten millionfolk, or two point five percent of
the adults.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
So everyone won't.

Speaker 15 (32:12):
Get a check.

Speaker 7 (32:13):
But meanwhile, the Supremes heard arguments about two weeks ago,
and some of the judges commented, the word tariff is
not in the statute. Trump violates separation of powers. Congress
drafted the law to limit emergency powers, so once the
Supremes deliberate, they could end Trump's alleged misuse of emergency
powers of tariffs and order repayments. The ruling is expected

(32:35):
any day now.

Speaker 5 (32:37):
But do you think the Supreme Court is going to
do that? They've been favoring everything.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
I think they will. I think they will based on
the comments from.

Speaker 7 (32:44):
The justices and the concern that they have that this
is outside of the statute.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
In the law.

Speaker 8 (32:49):
All Right, we shall watch, all right. And the bill
to reopen the government after the shutdown. We hear that
there are some surprises in this bill, and I'm sure
more about that.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
Sure, this temporary bill, which you know, may expire in January,
but it produced some long term things. More money for
increased security for Congress, executive branch, judges and Supreme Court
justices and Cheryl. Several Republicans wanted this after the assassination
of Charlie Kirk. Interestingly, though not after the two attempts

(33:22):
at Trump in twenty twenty four. Many of US judges,
we only have security in the court parking area and
in the building. Some stranger things in this bill. It
funded a veterinary program in your beautiful state of Maryland.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
And forrest conservation, and my great state of Texas.

Speaker 7 (33:37):
These are earmarks and democracy at work.

Speaker 8 (33:41):
All right, A lot of our listeners use THC, especially
for medical use.

Speaker 5 (33:46):
What about the ban on legal THC?

Speaker 7 (33:48):
H Grassi, As I mentioned McConnell love Kentucky for this
band criminalizing.

Speaker 8 (33:53):
Most legal hint products with more than point four milligrams
of THHC.

Speaker 5 (33:58):
But the bill it basically closes some polls and the law.

Speaker 7 (34:01):
So folk who were legally using up to point fourhand
for anxiety, pay relief, skin and hair, all the things
you will now relive the days of prohibition to get
your stash. What yes, and these bands remove any chance
for regulation for safety or a way to sue for
knowingly dangerous products because it's all going underground now. And

(34:23):
so as a lawyer, this is important to me and
my potential clients. So if you weren't before, please do
your homework before using or giving lotion or gummies to
your grandmother for her arthritis.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
And Cheryl, who knew the one thing to unite the.

Speaker 7 (34:36):
Red and the blue, the Republicans and the Democrats and
bring this country together?

Speaker 8 (34:41):
Is phc oh very interesting this world listen. I am
so glad we have you on the show as a
legal expert. Break, get all this stuff down for us
to stay in.

Speaker 1 (34:51):

All right, Cheryl, what is what are we talking about?
But let's get up pold today.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
All right?

Speaker 8 (37:23):
So it's November and last year and the month of November,
we coined Thursdays as thankful Thursdays, and so we just
took the time to really reflect on the things that
we're thankful for. I know, yesterday Griff did his Mister
Griffin and literally from the last you know, just looking
at you know, the content that we've been doing. I
want to say, for the last couple of months, his

(37:44):
mister Griffin has been a grateful mister Griffin, right, He's
just been focused on, you know, the things that God
has done in our lives. And even when we look
at the most catastrophic things in our life and find
a way to be thankful, it's a different way of thinking.
My pre semessage before called the gratitude effect, and it
talked about people who walk in a posture of being

(38:08):
grateful see things differently. Right, I know that the saints
of all, like my mother, my grandmother and mother mccrimin
was the mother of our church.

Speaker 5 (38:17):
Their breaths were thank you.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
It was thank you Jesus, like you were.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
Here, yes, then walking through the house and.

Speaker 8 (38:22):
You would hear us say thank you Jesus, thank you,
like everything was like gratitude. And when you have that posture,
I mean, you really can get through life differently. It
draws you closer to the Father. It showed you know,
it shows the glass you know, half full and not
half empty if you will, but finding the grateful in
every situation. So today we're going to give you the

(38:45):
opportunity to do that. As we lead up to Thanksgiving,
we want to know what you're grateful for.

Speaker 5 (38:50):
And I want to say you.

Speaker 8 (38:51):
Know publicly and we say it often, but I'm grateful
for this show. I'm grateful for you, Erica, for Griff,
for Venos, for Shani. I mean, you know, I know
that I've been in radio for a number of years,
but being here has sharpened me. You know, I've learned
so much. And you open up to hear and learn,
you grow in that. And I'm grateful for that. I'm

(39:12):
grateful for that, Grateful for family, grateful for love, grateful
for my children.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
I'm just I'm just in a posture of thank you
Father for my life.

Speaker 8 (39:21):
Right, Yeah, I love that, and I can agree with
you one hundred percent. So grateful for this show, for
the blessing of it. And what's funny is my friends
who do music, no music people stay up late and
we don't wake up early. But I've been waking up
early for ten years. And they're always like, how long
are you gonna do this? I was like, as long
as I can, as long as the Lord allows, because

(39:41):
it's really a blessing. And you know we said all
the time, but it really does start my day off right,
you know, with prayer and gratitude and great gospel music.
Of course, I'm grateful for my family and you know,
my kids, my husband, my church, my career.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
But I'm grateful for health and strength.

Speaker 8 (39:56):
I'm grateful that I'm in my right mind, that I
actually like myself in my family. I'm grateful for, you know,
having loved and being loved by people. I'm just I'm really,
really in a space of gratitude, and not just the Thanksgiving,
just this past little while. You know, I am griff. Well, listen,
we keep hearing about your gratitude, but give us a
little moment.

Speaker 12 (40:17):
I was listening to Pastor Reginald Sharp this morning. He
was preaching it Doctor E. Dewey Smith's church anniversary, and
he just says something that I might get a tattoo.

Speaker 5 (40:32):
He says.

Speaker 12 (40:33):
He was saying, you know, whatever my lot, it is
well with myself, and it's well, man, what a sentence.

Speaker 8 (40:42):
Whatever it is God, that's right. So we want to
know what are you grateful for in this season? Eight
seven seven two for two two for six. Give us
a call. We spreading some gratitude this morning. Eight seven
seven two for two to six. You can't lose with
an attitude of gratitude. Give us a call and share
your this morning.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
If you're listening to Get Up Mornings with Erica, you
worked from us.

Speaker 11 (41:14):
Now I'm excited really because I got through with.

Speaker 9 (41:20):
Morning.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
All right.

Speaker 8 (41:21):
It's a thankful Thursday. So we want to know how
grateful are you? What are you grateful for? We want
to hear from the Get Up Church. Let's talk to
Macy and Georgia. Hey, Macy, what are you grateful for?

Speaker 19 (41:32):
I am grateful to have a mom that is turning
seventy years old today.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
Happy birthday, Gus Lost.

Speaker 19 (41:38):
I love you, Yes, so thankful to have a mom
still on this side.

Speaker 5 (41:43):
Amen.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
Amen, God bless you. Thank you for calling man, God
bless you.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
I love y'all, listening to y'all every morning.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
Y'all have a blessed day.

Speaker 8 (41:51):
Hey, keep listening. Bye bye bye bye. Shannon and Maryland
is on the line. Shannon, tell us what you are
grateful for.

Speaker 5 (41:58):
Good morning, Erica and Griff and Cheryl.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
I am grateful for just a faithful father, our Lord
and save you, who has loved me beyond my floor.
And I'm also grateful that he kept me in my
right mind after leading my parents a year apart from
each other.

Speaker 14 (42:17):
So that's what I'm grateful for.

Speaker 5 (42:19):
A man. Well, thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
God bless you all right.

Speaker 14 (42:23):
You won't have a happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
Bye.

Speaker 12 (42:25):
Let's go to Indianapolis and talk to the homie Malcolm. Malcolm,
what are you grateful for?

Speaker 5 (42:30):
By then?

Speaker 14 (42:31):
I am grateful for all three of my children. They
were jack nils when they were born with disease called
Williamson syndrome and is there now which is which actually
is a learning disability and they will.

Speaker 15 (42:48):
Count it out with the young children as towards not
to proceed in their education and be on time. Well,
I have to say God has another plan and he
has successfully had my children which will be starting college soon.

Speaker 14 (43:08):
And and and they always ask me if he is Daddy,
what can we get you for Christmas?

Speaker 5 (43:15):
And I tell them all the time, you're my gift.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
You and my guilt appreciate.

Speaker 5 (43:20):
Absolutely take care.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Thank you for calling.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
God bless you and your children.

Speaker 15 (43:24):
Please, God, thank you.

Speaker 12 (43:25):
Let's go to North Carolina and talk to Alvin. Alvin,
what are you grateful for? My dude?

Speaker 14 (43:31):
Hey, first of all, gril life to meet you.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
And Hey, I'd like to shout out to the to
the hit.

Speaker 8 (43:37):
Up Morning crew.

Speaker 14 (43:38):
And I'm grateful for my family and work with my daughter,
and I'm grateful for my grand babies and all of them.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
But the main thing I'm grateful about is the unseeing,
the unseen blessings, the things that was going on in
our body and God healed us.

Speaker 12 (43:55):
What do you even know about it?

Speaker 1 (43:57):
The unseeing blessings that we should think about. Thanks, thank
you for calling.

Speaker 10 (44:00):
You're welcome.

Speaker 13 (44:01):
You have a great day.

Speaker 8 (44:02):
Shenis and South Carolina. Tell us what you're grateful for, Sis,
I'm grateful for the new season in life. How God
just continues to renew us and give us that new
day still every day.

Speaker 14 (44:13):
I think it changes how you look at your life.

Speaker 19 (44:16):
As long as it's a new opportunity you woke up
this morning, you can do it every day and it's new.

Speaker 5 (44:21):
You've never seen that day before, You'll never see it again. Amen.
Thank you for calling.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
Have a good one too.

Speaker 8 (44:27):
Thank you, Ivora, and Maryland is on the line. Hey, Yvora,

Speaker 5 (44:33):
Just forget it, right, amen.

Speaker 14 (44:35):
I'm seventy years old, seventy years young?

Speaker 1 (44:38):
All right? Well amen, and God bless you.

Speaker 5 (44:41):
Thank you, Come on, come on, seventy years young.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
I love it.

Speaker 8 (44:44):
Thank y'all for calling. Thank you for sharing your gratitude.
Let's keep it all day long, share with others because
it just blesses us. It just takes a straight to
gratitude for God.

Speaker 5 (44:53):
And ain't God good all the time and all the time.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
If you're listening to get up, find out what everybody's
talking about right now?

Speaker 1 (45:14):
Take it over the web.

Speaker 11 (45:15):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (45:16):
It's trending topics up to the minute, all.

Speaker 5 (45:18):
Right, Cheryl, tell us what is trending? All right?

Speaker 8 (45:21):
So this is this story has been going viral on
social media, and I really it just hit my heart.
The city of Chicago is still reeling after a black
mother and her young son was brutally attacked by those
middle school students. Right the vicious attack was filmed and
after making the rounds online, the backlash against the kids
and their parents was swift and swift and then now

(45:44):
one of the kids who admit her involvement just spoke
out with their mom.

Speaker 5 (45:47):
It's a couple of kids.

Speaker 8 (45:48):
Their mothers went on social media made them apologize and saying,
you know, so unapologetic.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
They so were, they were and so yeah.

Speaker 8 (45:56):
So the young lady is thirty three year old Kirshonda
had her and her nine year old son, who was
treated at Trinity Hospital in serious condition after a group
of Orville Bright Elementary School students on the city far
side jumped jumped them. The city actually stepped up and
really began to protect her. Also, it was a rapper

(46:17):
who also stepped up and they bought that. She's got
a new house, they moved her and her son. He's
going they're going to a new school. This just all
happened on Monday, y'all. This all happened on Monday, and
it hit social media so quickly. People stepped up. You know,
it was a goalfundme. She got money.

Speaker 5 (46:34):
It was like a lot of retribution for that.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
It was it was really.

Speaker 12 (46:41):
Watch it twice because I said it must be they
al must be thirteen. And then when I saw I
got somebody, Mama yeah, oh god, Yeah, it's yeah.

Speaker 8 (46:55):
You don't teach your kids to respect parents, every single
one of their parents, and her son was being so
she wanted to walk him home, you know what I mean,
She's trying to protect them, and then they jump her too.

Speaker 5 (47:06):
What in the world somebody else?

Speaker 8 (47:08):
That was hard to watch, Yo, these kids got demons
because that's that that level of evil.

Speaker 12 (47:13):
Like y'all just chat down, they walked her. They walked
her down for blocks. If y'all haven't seen it, it's
tough to watch. Yeah, it's tough to watch because I
thought it was kids. I thought it was kids till
I read the comments.

Speaker 8 (47:28):
I love how the city stepped up and protecting her
and giving her, you know, new opportunities and all that.
But she shouldn't have ever had to go through that,
all right. The Broadway Hell's Kitchen is entering a new chapter.
We talked about it yesterday, and I don't think I
ever mentioned it to the Get Up Church that Yolanda
Adams is about to join the cast. Whoa, yeah, she's
gonna start being Miss Eliza Jane starting December sixteenth, that character,

(47:53):
but also Neo is joining the cast.

Speaker 1 (47:56):
Talk about.

Speaker 8 (47:58):
Yeah, yeah, I was looking at something I wanted to
do at the top of the year, and me and
a few friends we're talking about just taking a week
into you know, to do Broadway.

Speaker 5 (48:06):
So I think I'm gonna do Hell's Kitchen now that they're.

Speaker 8 (48:09):
Changing some of the cast, it's already a phenomenal production,
executive produced by Alicia Keys, and it's loosely based on
our life, so I think I want to go check
that out.

Speaker 5 (48:18):
So yeah, hats off to Yolanda.

Speaker 8 (48:20):
They're also releasing a Christmas record too, and that's going
to be released next week, so that's so dope. Anyway,
this has been hitting social media AI generated music, right,
so people have already hit us up and.

Speaker 5 (48:36):
Wanting to, you know, bring them on Get Up Mornings
and all that.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
But Robot.

Speaker 8 (48:43):
Straight up, it's really people behind it. But the creation
of it is all AI generated. Here's what's the big
hoopla right now. The number one song on iTunes and
the Christian genre is AI generated. It is Solomon Ray, right,
and so folk are having a black guy, right, Yep,
it's a black guy, but it's number one.

Speaker 5 (49:05):
It's crazy.

Speaker 8 (49:07):
It's a real guy who created it, but the face
is AI generated and the music is AI generated and
some catfish music.

Speaker 1 (49:16):
Now, yeah, it's sure.

Speaker 5 (49:19):
How does that.

Speaker 12 (49:19):
Work as a use somebody that picked music for radio stations?

Speaker 5 (49:25):
Is that the future? I mean er good as soon
as you told her months ago. Oh they got it. No,
it's too many real people, that's yeah. But how do
they get in there casually? Like this is not good?
Whoever let that happen?

Speaker 8 (49:41):
It's about this, Well, I'm going to remember people are
just trying to make money. If streaming is making money,
they want to get the people out of the way.
I don't want to deal with a person, you know
what I mean, Because an artist knows how.

Speaker 1 (49:52):
To stand up.

Speaker 5 (49:52):
It should know how to stand up and speak for themselves.

Speaker 8 (49:54):
But AI you just especially if you make it stream
especially if you manipulate the streaming, and they're this big
fake superstar when people are sitting in business office collecting checks.
The girls and iam Anette Monet, she got a record deal.
So labels are behind in it, behind in it. But
so labels are behind it, yeah because they don't. They don't,

(50:16):
they don't want to, they don't want to deal with people. Yeah,
and so this guy I think just released it on
his own and put it under the Christian genre, and
the song is good. Both songs are really really good,
so people listen to it and just think, oh, I
like the song and not really know that it's AI generated,
but right, yeah, that's And if you.

Speaker 5 (50:34):
Say the songs are good, it must be because you're
very hard on you.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Know, their song.

Speaker 8 (50:38):
They're good songs. It's just who's who's whose vocals are awarrazing?

Speaker 5 (50:43):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 15 (50:43):
Like?

Speaker 8 (50:44):
Because yeah, anyway, that's what's trending. Griff, you up next
to a sports minute. It's sports minute, Thanks Cheryl. I
hate the Homies. Episode one fifty five is out right now.
I did something that Era could never do.

Speaker 12 (50:58):
I just deleted to Boud five hundred and eighty eight
pitchers while we was talking tonight, Thursday night football on
Prime Houston, Texas Coast to Buffalo Bells CJ. Stroud still
concussed for the Texans. I watched a couple of college
football games last night. Miami of Ohio beat up on
Buffalo thirty seven and twenty Kent lost to Central Michigan

(51:21):
twenty eight to sixteen. And then women basketball, South Carolina
women beat Winthrop one hundred and six to fifty six
by fifty points, Saint John's Ladies seventy four, number eighteen,
Oklahoma State cow Girls sixty seven, and Coastal Carolina Ladies
lost to North Carolina State Woodpack seventy one and fifty eight.

Speaker 5 (51:41):
In the NBA, was some good games.

Speaker 12 (51:42):
Dallas played the game game birth the Knicks but didn't
win one thirteen to one eleven. New York Facers shut
down Charlotte one twenty seven to eighteen. The Rockets beat
the Cavaliers one fourteen to one oh four, and the
Bulls beat Portland with a game winning three one twenty
two to one twenty one. And that's your Quicks Boys,
Mini Commanders. Surel with the birthdays, Thank you, griff.

celebrating with Dominique. Does Demetris Shipp Junior. That's the actor
that looks just like Tupac. Also Samuel E. Ray He's
an actor as well. Special birthday shout out to Janey
Peebles Trent and Bishop James Sturtivout and befa's your birthday, Well,

what's happening in the country and breaking it down the
laws and things that we have to deal with.

on your eyebrows to hold him down.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
